Is Duchess Meg worth $5 million for an animated movie role?

On today's Enty podcast (available on Patreon for $4.95 a month) he states that Duchess Meg has been looking for work in Hollywood.

But there are conditions - lots of conditions, according to Enty.

First of all, it must be a voice role only, most likely a voiceover to a cartoon.

Secondly, she will do no publicity for the role, except perhaps a single interview with a high-end journalist like Diane Sawyer.

Third, she is demanding $5 million per film for her work.

Is she worth it?

Meg made nowhere near that amount when she was on Suits, according to Enty, who estimates Meg's per-episode fee on the USA network drama to be around $50,000 at best.

For a 20-episode season, that would be $1 million - before taxes, agent fees, management fees, etc. So, charitably, $400,000 take-home per year.

Apparently Meg is setting the value of a Royal title at around $4.6 million.

Will she add $4.6 million worth of value to an animated film?

Calculating the value of Meg's name

To make hiring Meg worth a producer's money, she'd have to bring in millions of dollars in additional box office that wouldn't be attracted to the film without her in it.

Celebrity voices like Will Smith and Angelina Jolie have helped create buzz about other animated movies in the past.

But both Smith and Jolie have established entertainment industry followings, and both were willing to use their substantial celebrity to help publicize the finished film.

How will Meg help boost box office, if she doesn't have an obvious following and refuses to be part of the media campaign?

A few parents might want to take their children to an animated "princess" movie featuring the voice of a real-life princess, but most of those kids would be perfectly happy seeing a princess movie with or without Meg's voice.

How many adults will go see an animated movie just because Duchess Meg was voicing a character in it?

Who is Duchess Meg's audience?

This sends us back to a repeated question: who is Meg's audience?

It's impossible to tell from Twitter or Instagram - Meg has been spotted buying and using bots.

The accounts desperately defending her against any insult may or may not be real fans. (They might even be Meghan herself).

The same is true for vigorous Meghan defenders on comment boards like CDAN, Lipstick Alley, and even the Daily Mail.

Real fans or paid social media team? Hard to know.

Vogue and Oprah

Mainstream US print media coverage is also not an indication of Meg's popularity, because she's reportedly been purchasing packages of favorable stories from magazines like People and Harper's Bazaar.

Even Vogue's esteemed Anna Wintour doesn't seem to be above a payoff, saying last week that she'd been so inspired by Meg's fashion that she was considering giving up her famous flowered dresses in favor of trouser suits.

(This was an odd one, not only because Meg's untailored fashion is so bad, but because she hasn't worn a trouser suit in more than a year.)

US TV? Oprah has a new deal with Prince Harry to make a documentary series for Apple TV, which is a new launch that has a lot of money to throw around at the moment. But Oprah is leveraging Harry's name, not Meg's.

Meghan's TV ratings so far

When it comes to existing TV networks, Meg has not proven to be a great draw. A Gayle King special on the "American Princess" before her 2018 wedding drew so-so ratings. (Strange that Gayle seems to want to do a follow-up special after the birth of the Sussex child this spring.)

Cable TV dramas like "Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance" drew only moderate interest. And although Lifetime appears to be planning a follow-up, "Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal" with new actors, a story announcing the production has no comments nearly two months after being posted.

In fact, the only TV version of Meg story that seems to be doing well is the British satire "The Windsors," which doesn't always show the Duchess (or anyone else in the family) in a flattering light.

Bottom line: I can see no evidence of significant organic public interest in Duchess Meg.

Trevor's TV series

Enty has alluded several times to a possible TV series to be produced by Trevor Engelson, Meghan's previous husband (the first or the second, depending on who you believe) about her life as a royal.

He suggests that the series was nixed because of Meghan's connections and the Royal Family's influence.

Maybe it just went nowhere because there isn't all that much interest in Meg.

I am just wondering why are people like Anna Wintour,Oprah,George Clooney etc want to lose credibility. Their praises seem so fake and made up. Meg is hated in UK and in US she doesn't have much fans.. Considering there is already a crowd there with so many Hollywood A listers with really great work, where does Meg stand? Her only noticeable work is a multi-starer Suits in which there were 4-5 leads. Most of heavy lifting in SUITS was done my Gabriel Macht and Patrick J. Adams. Had these guys not there,I wouldn't bother watching SUITS at all.. Meg was the weakest actor in that series and her character Rachael could have been played just by anyone. As an actor, there is hardly any noticeable work apart from SUITS,So how can she claim to be famous? I don't think she has any real fans and even if she had promoted the anime movie, she could not have guaranteed BO result.

Angie and Will Smith are HW A listers for some time now. They have some beautiful movies under their belt. They can make difference to the BO collections but not Meg.

If Meg is using her royal status to have those demands, can someone do a reality check and see if she is really seen favorably in UK..

Nutty,I want to know why Beyonce and her husband and her mom have praised meg. What are they getting in return? Who is pulling the strings?

All the celebrities who praised Meg have enough star power, money and influence on their own. I can understand if stylists, makeup artists, hair stylists, small time reporters trying to get some limelight but Oprah,Clooneys,Beyonce,Serena.. Why?

Hi Sonia! First of all, what do the people you've mentioned (plus Anna Wintour and Jay-Z) have in common?

- They're all on the downside of careers that have already peaked. (Beyoncé is a possible exception.)

- They all embrace left-wing/progressive politics (Serena is a Jehovah's Witness and technically apolitical, although she does speak publicly about racism)

- They all have more than enough money to last them a lifetime (Wintour is married to a very wealthy man)

My guess is that they are all connected either by a publicity person, such Ken Sunshine of Sunshine Sachs, or by a financial handler.

Perhaps they are trading favors with this person who connects them.

I think you are right... Some common person pulling the strings.. I still don't get what that common person gets out of Meg. Meg didn't had money(I have doubts regarding that fortune),She is not a fashion icon(dunno whether she can sell something),she is not youth icon(she is closer to 40) and neither she is some good spy(just in case she was sent in for that).

Even if their(jay z,oprah etc) career is on downside/fading,they have made enough name on their own and this Meg praising out of blue may damage their reputation. Had I been a celebrity like them with a certain success,I will keep myself out of this unless I am held at gunpoint. They don't knowhow they are increasing getting hated in UK for their support for Meg. Its making them look like they can be bought.

Nutty, have you noticed the decreased articles on dailmay,express.co.uk etc wrt meghan. Mostly the US sites are still putting stuff about Meg and they have nothing new to offer. Samantha,Markle Sr and Markle Jr have stopped talking negatively about Meg after the baby-shower. Only Samantha released a note saying she is not on police watch and Markle Jr just spoke fondly about Meg and how he wants the family to unite. Maybe they all got paid when she was in US for baby-shower.

My assumption is that all of these accomplished people just want to be associated with the BRF. They're America's version of royalty, but England has the real deal. It is interesting to think that someone else behind the scenes might bind them all, though.
Now! said…
I think that they also want to be seen as supporting a biracial member of the Royal Family.

They have probably been told that the British press is being hard on Meghan, without being fully informed of the *reasons* the British press is being hard on her, such as her excessive spending, grabbing at and pushing in front of Harry, skipping or cutting engagements short, mistreatment of staff, etc.

They may also be defensive about the many rumors surrounding Meg, having had numerous rumors follow them as well. (Oprah and Gayle supposedly being lesbian lovers, Beyoncé faking her pregnancy with Blue Ivy, Wintour's child with Bob Marley, Clooney's supposed adventures in Italy and with Rande Gerber, etc.)

But even if the three factors I mentioned above are in play, people at the top of the income scale are mercenary and often stingy with both their money and their favors.

If they are going out of their way to support Meghan, there's something in it for them.

I think everything is on hold until the child is delivered. There's a lot of gossip out that this will happen during the week ahead, possibly tomorrow morning. We'll see.

Meghan's use of and to the royal family is obvious. They are using her and she's using them right back. The UK has their own brand of institutional and historic divides so of course the powers that be are sending their newest emissary out front in order to pretend they are ever-so-modern. Most people can see through the shenanigans, booing and eye rolling abound, however those who see huge cool/cash advantages are sending their approvals most readily. Using each other, what's new with that? No one would've given her the time of day 3 years ago

I think you're right that the Royal Family was initially delighted to have a nonwhite (but not tooooo nonwhite) woman marry into the family. After all, they are reigning over an increasingly multicultural Britain. Diversification must have looked like a plus.

What they didn't properly appreciate is how much she would piss on their protocol and use her new Royal status to earn money merching products and extorting charities.

The Queen doesn't like her. As I've said on CDAN repeatedly, the British aristocracy cares about titles, real estate, and jewellery.

Meghan and Harry got joke titles (Sus-sex, Dumbarton and Kil-keel, you can hear Philip's sense of humor there), terrible real estate (Frogmore Cottage is tiny, broken-down, and directly under the Heathrow flight path), and Meg doesn't get to wear the Queen's good jewellery.

I don’t know anyone who would go see a movie because MM was doing the voice over. In fact, it would probably drive many people away.

I can’t believe this narcissistic actually believes she worth $5 million for doing a voice over and not even promoting the film.

Depending on what happens with baby-gate, I think Harry should step down and live a celebrity life.

Now! said…
Not only that, but her voice is not instantly recognizable.

I follow the Meghan-Harry story pretty closely and I'm not sure I'd be able to recognize her voice.

Harry loves Africa; I wish the Queen would find a job for him there.

The royal family is being forced to recruit a new helicopter pilot after their veteran chopper captain quit over Meghan Markle’s diva antics!

A palace insider exclusively told RadarOnline.com the staffer got tired of making constant food trips to satisfy Meghan’s pregnancy cravings.

The source said love-struck Prince Harry was constantly ordering him to go fetch “weird” snacks for the Duchess of Sussex, until he finally objected to being used like “an on-call 24/7 flying delivery service.”

The royals are now advertising for a new chopper pilot who will earn up to $105,000. Their new recruit will take control of the royals’ private $13million Sikorsky S76 C++ craft.

Responsibilities include: planning and executing flights in accordance with TQHF Operations Manual, managing royal tasks and other administrative duties, and supporting the Director of Flight Operations.

A recent advert for the role released by the Royal Household says the full-time airman or woman will be based at a Royal Air Force base in the town of Odiham, Hampshire, on the south coast of England.

“Your initiative and problem solving skills mean that you can think ahead and act proactively. Flexibility is essential as you’ll be required to undertake travel across the UK and overnight as necessary,” states the job description.

“This is yet more proof professional people just cannot work with Meghan,” said the royal insider. “Her demands are constant and outrageous. The pilot was treated like a humble take-away delivery driver instead of a highly-trained elite pilot.”

Radar readers know the royal pilot is just the latest staffer to leave his post since Meghan’s entrance into the family.

In November, Melissa Touabti, 40, a personal assistant to Meghan, quit after only six months on the job. The next month, Samantha Cohen, 50, private secretary to the Duke and Duchess also resigned from her position.

Amy Pickerill, 33, another close aide to Meghan, 37, is expected to leave her employment shortly. She has agreed to stay with the couple until the former Suits actress gives birth later this month but will depart soon after.

An unnamed female security guard also left her position just six months after joining the royal couple.

Last month, Radar reported Meghan’s staff losses are plunging the royal household into a security crisis. There are even fears terrorists and stalkers will slip through the net of Buckingham Palace’s security checks as the family rushes to recruit replacements for their key staff members.

Another article from radaronline -
https://radaronline.com/exclusives/2019/04/meghan-markle-wants-home-birth-uk-hospitals-issues/

copy pasting here -
Mom-to-be Meghan Markle is terrified of the allegedly shameful state of U.K. hospitals, and has recruited a team of U.S. doctors to help her through a home birth.

The royals gave her four maternity units to choose from for the birth of her first child, but RadarOnline.com can reveal all have demonstrated a range of health and safety concerns which have caused them to be slammed by British government inspectors.

Insiders say the list of scares is the secret reason Meghan, 37, is pushing for a home birth.

“Meghan is appalled and rightly worried. The U.K. health service is a great institution, but it is spread so thinly that care suffers and Meghan doesn’t want to risk being a stat on their failure sheet,” a royal insider told Radar.

“Even the hospitals in the private sector are not without problems. She doesn’t know which way to jump so a home birth is a definite prospect,” added a source.

The health and safety issues found in the U.K. hospitals include staff shortages, failures to train maternity staff to government standards and drug storage scares.

The Mulberry Birth Centre at Frimley Park Hospital is the closest maternity ward to the Duke and Duchess’ home at Windsor Castle, but the maternity unit reported a lack of midwives.

A recent government report said: “We rated it as requires improvement because midwifery staffing did not always meet planned levels. The trust’s ratio of one midwife to every 31.7 births was worse than the England average of one midwife to every 25.7 births.”

Apart from that, the report said that the midwives employed there are constantly “exhausted” from working extra shifts.

The private American-owned Portland Hospital in London — where birth packages start at $15,000 — is another contender but has also been slammed by inspectors.

The UK’s Care Quality Commission, responsible for auditing Britain’s hospitals, found: “There was poor documentation from consultants in the maternity service in six of the 12 sets of notes… On the labor ward, medical gases were stored in an area which did not have appropriate signage on the door. Not all maternity staff were trained in the appropriate level of safeguarding.”

At the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital — one of Meghan’s top choices had she not opted for a home birth — inspectors found a high turnover of staff and discovered that the drugs supplied there were not stored safely.

Meghan was also tipped to give birth at the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital in London, where her nemesis Kate Middleton welcomed her three kids.

It is a $20,000-a-birth private unit attached to a National Health Service Hospital. But, it too, received a damning two-out-of-five hygiene rating from food safety inspectors.
A report on the Food Standards Agency website said “improvement is necessary” and good food standards were unattainable because of the dismal “layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control.”

Diana’s former, butler Paul Burrell, believes that if the Duchess of Sussex doesn’t have a home birth, she will welcome her royal baby at the Portland hospital. He does not think Lindo Wing is an option for her.

“Meghan is likely to buck all traditions when it comes to having the baby, just watch where it is born,” said Burrell, 60. “I don’t think she will use the Lindo Wing, I think she will use an American hospital like The Portland, which is owned by the Hospital Corporation Of America.”

Seeing as Meghan’s feud with Kate, 37, is still very much alive, the former royal staffer doesn’t believe Meghan wants to follow in her footsteps in terms of birthing suites.

“I don’t think she will go the same path as Kate. I get the feeling she’s out to do things differently, it’s her way, Meghan’s way,” he continued. “I think she’s going to be very strong and defiant.”

Anonymous said…
contd..

He also said that all this fuss over where Meghan and Prince Harry will have their baby likely is not sitting well with Queen Elizabeth — especially after the former Suits actress’ lavish New York City baby shower.
“Meghan needs to be careful because she cannot upset the Queen,” said Burrell. “I think our Queen is above all of that. She will not understand what all this fuss is about and then she will pull them aside and have a word with her grandson and Prince Harry. I think she will say why can’t she just toe the party line.”

The insider said that despite her wishes, Meghan is “highly unlikely” to be allowed to have a home birth due to safety concerns and the availability of emergency equipment in the event of complications.

Regardless, the Hollywood diva has reportedly handpicked a her U.S. medical team, demanded to have a female doctor in the delivery room, and dismissed the use of veteran male royal doctors, whom she calls “the men in grey suits.”

Thank you for these cut and pastes!

Very interesting - I'm sure the helicopter pilot was fed up long before the "pregnancy cravings", however.

Interesting to see if Meg's criticism of the NHS gets wider publicity. That would really rub the British public the wrong way.

Another one from radaronline.com-https://radaronline.com/exclusives/2019/04/prince-harry-drug-scandal-paternity-party/

Reformed party animal Prince Harry is set for a showdown with wife Meghan over any plans he may have to celebrate their baby’s birth at a “drug den” bar!

RadarOnline.com’s exclusive investigation has revealed one of Harry’s favorite London watering holes, The Sands End, is awash with residue from illegal drugs!
A swab indicated the presence of cocaine and other deadly drugs, including crack, a type of date-rape substance, and methadone, which is used to wean addicts off heroin.

“Meghan won’t want any of it around her baby and is likely to try and ban Harry from going there,” a palace insider snitched.

“But Harry wants to celebrate his firstborn at his favorite pub, and he’s not likely to stop going to The Sands End without a fight!”

There's been a lot of talk online about Harry's drug use - and by extension Meghan's. Nothing new, both have been in the party scene for more than a decade.

Funny how people can be into natural and organic foods and yoga, and then enjoy the highly processed derivatives of the coca plant. Pure coca plant if you get the right supplier, mixed with boric acid or laxatives if you don't.

Funny, too, how people can be in favor of social justice, and then consume a product that creates a great deal of misery for the people who grow it, process it, ship it, and then deliver it. But hey, what does that matter when you're having (temporary) fun?

I think its beause of Harry's excessive partying and drugs, most the women he dated have left him. I think they saw no future with him. Grifty Meg comes by and grabs the opportunity.

I was wondering why Laineygossip always defends meghan. Now got to know that elaine works with Ben mulroney, husband of Meg's bestie Jessica Mulroney.

Nutty I love your blog! I can’t stand Rachel Markle on marriage number 3 with her fake baby bump! I agree with what you said in an earlier blog that if she had people who actually cared about her (bc she’s so disrespectful and rude towards everyone around her, who would want to try to help this pig out) working for her on the inside, they’d help her out and get her a much better and more realistic moon bump (and better fashion choices)... then again, she seems so demanding and pushy that she just goes ahead and does whatever she wants without taking ANY advice from anyone else (typical narcissist, she thinks she knows best). Keeps the blog posts coming! Great reads! Great insight!

Is This the REAL THING THIS TIME? or is this just stringing people along?

Recently there was (yet another) post somewhere out in the world about how they will soon divorce.  And my first thought was: Haven't I heard this before?  which moved quickly to: how many times have I heard this (through the years)? There were a number of questions raised which ... I don't know.  I'm not a lawyer.  One of the points which has been raised is that KC would somehow be shelling out beaucoup money to get her to go "away".  That he has all this money stashed away and can pull it out at a moment's notice.  But does he? He inherited a lot of "stuff" from his mother but ... isn't it a lot of tangible stuff like properties? and with that staff to maintain it and insurance.  Inside said properties is art, antique furniture and other "old stuff" which may be valuable" but ... that kind of thing is subject to the whims and bank accounts of the rarified people who may be interested in it (which is not most of us in terms of bei

A Quiet Interlude

Not much appears to be going on. Living Legends came and went without fanfare ... what's the next event?   Super Bowl - Sunday February 11th?  Oscar's - March 10th?   In the mean time, some things are still rolling along in various starts and stops like Samantha's law suit. Or tax season is about to begin in the US.  The IRS just never goes away.  Nor do bills (utility, cable, mortgage, food, cars, security, landscape people, cleaning people, koi person and so on).  There's always another one.  Elsewhere others just continue to glide forward without a real hint of being disrupted by some news out of California.   That would be the new King and Queen or the Prince/Princess of Wales.   Yes there are health risks which seemed to come out of nowhere.  But.  The difference is that these people are calmly living their lives with minimal drama.

Christmas is Coming

The recent post which does mention that the information is speculative and the response got me thinking. It was the one about having them be present at Christmas but must produce the kids. Interesting thought, isn't it? Would they show?  What would we see?  Would there now be photos from the rota?   We often hear of just some rando meeting of rando strangers.  It's odd, isn't it that random strangers just happen to recognize her/them and they have a whole conversation.  Most recently it was from some stranger who raved in some video (link not supplied in the article) that they met and talked and listened to HW talk about her daughter.  There was the requisite comment about HW of how she is/was so kind).  If people are kind, does the world need strangers to tell us (are we that kind of stupid?) or can we come to that conclusion by seeing their kindness in action?  Service. They seem to always be talking about their kids, parenthood and yet, they never seem to have the kids
