Questions, Questions and more Questions

It feels like things have been quiet.

Sure we hear of this bit of news that they are doing this.  Or have done that (not always with pictures which then begs the question: did it really happen?).  Or read that one of them is about to do something.

So many questions swirl around them.

Why are the exposures and interests appear to be more scattershot than a few general areas to be grouped under?  Consistently meaning the same groups or group types.

Why does the clothing still not seem to match the season they are in?  Are they still able to find people willing to offer stuff or are they running out of designers?  Or are they just not checking the weather?

What is happening with Spotify?

Or Netflix?

Or what do you think will happen as The Crown edges closer to current events?

Where are all the power hires who were to lead or guide them in some of the proposed projects?

What if they left the Montecito house?  Where in California be a better or more visible place for their interests?  Or would New York beckon?  The City is always a flashy albeit expensive draw but many power people live in Westchester, Katonah (HRC), Greenwich, Westport (Martha although is now more in Bedford I think but could be wrong) and commute.  Sometimes there is even a pied-a-terre in the City. Old money.  Company head movers and shakers.  Brokerage money.  Serious money.

What about politics?  Is that realistic meaning there could be some support for it to start?  If politics was in the future, wouldn't that bring additional security risks? Would that be safe for any of them?

Which brings the kids to mind.  Will there be any more kid sightings any time soon?  Valentine crayon glued on candy heart?  Easter looking for hidden eggs?

Or expand the past influencer blogger life?  Where might that go now?  The field is way more crowded than it used to be five years ago.  New people are always flocking in daily.  Will there be enough interest to sustain past the initial flurry because it is revived?

It feels like things have been quiet.  Is it because energy is running down?  Or the money stream?  Or is it a conservation of energy because they are about to announce big things - something/bring things on line/meet all their contract obligations?

What are your thoughts?

Which means there is less of it (perhaps) for Duo and alleged kids?

I don’t believe Hannah Furness implied that Jack Brooksbank, * and their respective kids were atthe Super Bowl. I inferred that they were elsewhere—a local hotel? Eugenie and Jack are in Los Angeles for the Frieze Art Fair (because of E’s association with the Hauser+Wirth Gallery in London).

Hannah Furness would have us believe that while Euge and Harry were in the VIP section of the Super Bowl rubbing elbows with various slebs and other well-connected multimillionaires, that Jack stayed behind with Maggot and 'her kids' while his wife was papped with her notorious cousin? Gee, it might have made for a nice photo op for H to be seen sitting with Jack, eh? Just a couple of guys enjoying the game, just two young dads hanging out together . . Meanwhile, Euge and Stench, being such great pals from way back and both moms of babies surely must have a lot to talk about, no?

(This is me playing along with the fiction that * might have had an opportunity to attend the Super Bowl with the home team playing, in a celebrity studded event and said, 'Nah . .I'd rather hang out with Jack in an obscure hotel room under assumed names. We'll watch Spongebob Squarepants and order room service--it'll be fun!)

Given *'s avaricious and boundary-lacking behavior around other women's husbands, I somehow doubt that Euge would really be OK with swanning off to the football game and leaving her husband behind with * and 2 possibly phantom children. In a hotel. There was no mention of August in this little family reunion. Presumably he was left in his familiar surroundings with his loving nanny back in Windsor.

The Royal cousins want to have a chin-wag of course but surely *that* venue was not the only place they could be alone to talk in . . hardly the *best* one.

Re toilet, I personally find it preferable to the euphemism 'bathroom' used by Americans (with apologies to American Nutties). In the UK it's considered better to use lav or lavatory, which I think has a different meaning in American English).

'Toilet
This was on the original 1950s list and, to be honest, I’d rather chew glass than use the word toilet in polite conversation. It’s a harsh word that was adapted from the French toilette which means your appearance, hence toiletries bag. Lavatory or loo is much more acceptable. (From a BBC radio programme).

Meghan Markle 'has no intention of ever returning to UK' and 'doesn't care what British public think' because winning them over is a 'lost cause', royal biographer claims

• Meghan Markle 'may never come back to the UK as doesn't care what Brits think'
• Royal biographer Tom Bower says she 'has backing to becoming a US politician'
•Added she sees the UK as a 'lost cause' and is unlikely to return for Jubilee celebrations or ever

So the UK is a 'lost cause' - thank you πŸ™„. Translation: the British failed to appreciate her charm, beauty and brains πŸ™„. I think * is a lost cause and that all UK Nutties will breathe a sigh of relief at the thought of * not visiting our shores. Are we supposed to be heartbroken at the thought that she may never return to the UK? I'm sure she cares what people think, whatever she says, although she might care more about Americans' opinions.

As for having 'backing to becoming a US politician', I think we can take that statement with a large pinch of salt πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I’m hoping it’s not an empty threat by Maggot vowing never to cross the pond to ole Blighty again….we know she never keeps to her word! Let’s hope Tom is right and we are a lost cause 😜 Does anyone know when his book is due for release?

Lavatory is both old fashioned and used by the upper classes. Going to the Ladies (said by women of course! πŸ˜‚) is another popular one. πŸ˜ƒ

Thanks for the DM link @Maneki Neko. I take Bower's blurb about M's political backing with a canister of salt too. He goes on to say "...her three day visit to New York in September was a 'remarkable success' and she clearly enjoys support among 'Democrats, minorities and the young."

Maybe I wasn't paying enough attention but what stood out for me during that trip were things like how remarkably unsuitable her daytime wardrobe was for NYC in Sept. She must have been roasting. And as usual she was eager to use minority school children for props (and make them listen to her rotten book- ugh) And, of course, I was curious about what really happened at the UN.

I just can't imagine she could be elected to much of anything. And the more he talks, the less interesting I think Bower's book will be.

TBW is well known for wearing out of season clothes, probably because she's merching.

I must admit I couldn't be bothered to read the DM article beyond what I copied & pasted... I'm not sure how the three day visit to NYC could be construed as a 'remarkable success'. I think it's all in her mind, as is the support from Democrats etc.

Most people were in agreement that around them, it was a generic term for bad behavior and that was used in all directions, not one.

I will release one or two more posts about this I held back on.

We will remain on full moderation for the time being. (as always, we will send out a post that it has been lifted to warn).

Weighing in on the "thug" debate.

I'm American and I have never heard of the word 'thug' being used as a derogatory term for black people.
I know it only for the normal definition.

When I read the term "Thug Bowl" used by a Nutty here, I assumed it was a reference to how violent football is.

Football as a contact sport can certainly be a violent and dangerous game.
Football players of all races have been known to carry on-the-field violence into everyday life.
Forceful behavior is used to succeed in the game - it's not surprising that some might be aggressive outside the game as well.

In addition, some football players develop CTE - chronic traumatic encephalopathy caused by repeated head injuries. A symptom of this brain damage can be aggressive violent behavior.

The term "Thug Bowl" did not strike me as racist at all - it never even occurred to me. It just made me think of the violence within the sport.

“Lavatory” has the same meaning in the U.S., but it is falling out of use. Personally I have never heard anyone under 60 use it to refer to the toilet/restroom. It seems to have sprung up out of the masculine world of the military. Leastways I can’t recall hearing a female ever refer to it as lavatory. This might be a regional difference. Not at all common in my corner of the Midwest, though my dad (b. 1931, ex-military) said it sometimes. Growing up in the 1930s and ‘40s it was more common then.

Now shall we dissect the language of “the British are a lost cause”?

Seeing as she spent barely 2 years among her husband’s people, this is an incredibly arrogant statement. Since she never even shipped most of her clothes over to Blighty, she never had any intention of staying there. * Always frames her colossal failures as “things she decided weren’t working for her.” My bet is that this statement is in response to her being banned from entering the UK and thus no invitations to Jubilee events will be forthcoming. It goes against the grain for * not to be playing her Will she/Won’t she games until the last minute but maybe there is some dirt the Palace will keep swept under the carpet only if she stays away forever—Such as the truth about Aldi & Lidl. Notice there have been no more bleatings about a christening for Lidl.

@Maneki Neko,

Oh I agree about M's clothing and probable merching. The most extreme example I can think of was that ridiculously tight, pastel print "garden party" summer dress she wore to the actors care home (with that weird square "baby bump") in December in the UK. But what stood out to me re: the NYC trip was her clothing wasn't THAT out of season, maybe just a few weeks to a month off. Not really off enough for typical merching (as I understand it anyway) But her clothing was so uniformly off-- it's like she decided "This is what I want NYC to be like when I'm there so screw the weather reports."

It is being reported that the Queen is helping pay for the Settlement of Prince Andrew's lawsuit. Shocking but then again she has money to throw around, a lot of it. Too bad she didn't tell Andrew to pay for it himself.

Another decision that the Queen is making based on feelings not as a Monarch. Unless of course, she is disturbed the trial could tarnish the glorious Platinum Jubilee for her.

I'm thinking she will let the Sussex continue their tirades and keep them in fold maybe even throw some money at them too to keep them happy and out of her hair (or her out of their book).

Hikari, thank for the posting of the MSN piece. One sure way to ascertain that it's a total PR piece is that it refers several times to Twit's "friends," when we know Twit doesn't have any friends. * made sure to get rid of any friends.

In other news, Casamigos Tequila sold for $1 billion in 2017. ButterUp has self-valued at $1.7 billion. Not believable in comparison to what is offered, and what the public is willing to pay. Jack Brooksbank is world-wide Brand Ambassador for Casamigos Tequila. Casamigos' biggest draw is that it is so smooth and refined it can be drunk all day and all night without causing a hangover or headache. Of course Diageo's provided the Super Bowl seats.

I have thought long and hard about this.

The guidelines have always been that the likelihood is that there will be potential disagreements, dissent and even criticism on this blog.

The rules have always been:

If you see a post from someone you don't like/agree with, you scroll by.

If you see a post that you don't like/agree with what was said, you scroll by.

If you think the post is questionable in some way, you contact a moderator and ask them to check it. The outcome is always up to the moderator.

The rules have always been that posts/discussions are to remain friendly, civil and courteous.

You have not followed the rules when you order to me address a post.

You have not followed the rules when people try to discuss that they could and did have a valid alternative view to yours.

Instead of following the rules, you have made yourself arbitrator of right and wrong for the blog.

You are only one of many voices here.

This is not your blog.

You do not have moderator status or authority.

Casamigos is held by Diageo, and is a publicly held company, meaning that one can buy and sell its stock.
On the other hand, ButterUp is privately held, and they can tell anyone anything they darn feel like saying.
There is no accountability for ButterUp's financial statements. It's all smoke and mirrors.

Diageo provided the Super Bowl seats for Princess Eugenie and Twit.

It has been about forty-eight hours since the Superbowl and there have been no leaked pictures of * and no heartwarming anecdotes about her hanging out with Jack or about the youngest cousins "sitting and chilling" together.

I have to agree with everyone who thinks that Harry and * are separated in some way. They're certainly not living in the same house, if he could have gone to a huge event like this (and met up with another Royal!) without * finding a way to announce it beforehand or trying to make it about herself. She could still try to say she was there somewhere, but there will be too many witnesses who don't follow an unwritten "never complain, never explain" rule for her to risk it. Gee, this must be so humiliating for her!

This slow response time from her is very unusual. I'm not complaining or anything, of course; just wondering what is up.

Just chiming in on ...semantics, here; to me, toilet is the actual...commode (?) itself.

I can't think of a single time I've ever heard anyone here (USA) say "I'm going to the toilet". I follow a lot of British youtubers, and whenever they're vlogging at, say, an amusement park or something, they'll mention things like "the toilets are nice" or "I wish the toilets were not so far away from everything else" and it sounds so funny me! In a charming way, not a bad way.

I definitely say powder room or bathroom when in a residential situation and rest room or ladies' room in a commercial setting.

Thug as an alleged racial slur is a new thing. I think it came along with all the riots over the last few summers. People referred to the people who were looting, rioting and burning entire city blocks down as thugs, as well they should have, and everyone on the Left decided it was a racial slur.

"Far right" can be used as a euphemism for white supremacy and in sine circles is generally meant as a slur towards anyone to the right of Karl Marx. Definitely not accusing our Lavender Lady of that, merely saying people assign meaning to words that other people are not aware of.

Believe me, the kind of filth that actually are on the extreme end of either spectrum are not going to use a euphemism for the N word.

I just don't understand why Jack, who has a business interest in the Super Bowl, would stay back with * and all the kids, so Eug and Haz could have a comfy coze. Surely it would make more sense for Jack and * to have gone and let the cousins converse in private?! Nothing involving these two whackjobs makes a lick of sense to me.

I'm sorry my posting is all over the place; for the first time in months I was able to have someone in to watch my mom for a few days, and am trying to do too many things at once!

7 million is a tidy sum and keeps her from having to go to trial and have all her dirty business exposed.

I'd say the victory is Andrew's. Having sex with a 17 year old is not near as bad in my opinion as luring other girls into what you yourself are now claiming to be a victim of.

Having said that, I hope he is made to stay out of public work. What an absolute crapfest he made of everything. He's always involved in unsavory things. No moral compass whatsoever.

Harry inherited the worst traits from more than just his parents.

The Body Language Guy's commentary on Virginia's settlement:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ONuZP-fNbQ

I agree with him on the optics of settling. It makes Viriginia look less sympathetic.

The part that sticks with me the most is his citing the royal sources who say that Prince Charles forced Prince Andrew to settle instead of taking it to court, so that the Queen's Platinum Jubilee would not be overshadowed.

I think we now know why Princess Eugenie might have been angry enough to make a very public appearance early this week with Harry.

I thought the most recent analysis by BLG was much fairer and more balanced than one other analysis he did of the Giuffre v Andrew case. Giuffre will be busy writing her book for yet another easy payout. πŸ˜”πŸ˜•I’m glad there were a lot of comments on the BLG video that could see what Giuffre’s game is. πŸ˜–πŸ˜©

As far as the settlement is concerned, it’s not clear whether Andrew has yet sold his Swiss Chalet, it’s said to worth £18 million, but he owes £14 million or so on a mortgage. If the Queen is footing the entire settlement/legal bill for now, I hope not one penny has or will come out of tax payers money. He may not be guilty of what he’s been accused of, but he’s guilty of utter stupidity and outright arrogance with morals in the swamp. πŸ˜–πŸ˜”

My gracious, she's remarkably fecund! You are so much more generous than I. I was wondering if the fetid stench described as coming from Montecito meant that Harry had whacked her and her body was hidden on the premises.

If he had, would any of the people that dealt with her report that she was missing, or just breathe a sigh of relief that she was gone?

@Maneki Neko,

Gouffre in French means "abyss". LOL

Her name is Giuffre .

A Freudian slip perhaps?
GWAH: Thinking of French & sanitary ware- I was taught very formal, correct, French at school but a gap in my vocabulary became evident when I went on a compulsory exchange with my penfriend - `compulsory' as insisted upon by my school.

Our party sailed from Newhaven to Dieppe, then by train to Paris. We were met at the mainline station by penfriends and their parents, father in my case. The greeting was far from warm, hardly a word was spoken as we set off on the Metro, followed by a lengthy walk through the 12th arrondissement. Arriving at their appartement, I was shown to my room and left there - no offer of refreshment nor tour of the `geography'. By this time I was desperate, so asked for the `salle de bain' - and that was was I got - bath, washbasin and what I took to be a bidet. No loo.

I was sorely tempted to use the bidet to make myself comfortable but instead had another go at asking for the necessary - apparently the term I should have used was `doubleV.C' ie WC said with a French accent. A serious omission from my education. A couple of days later I had the same problem on the train to Brittany, a 4hr journey - no door said `WC' and `lavabo' was just a washbasin...

I daresay we all have stories like that. We were once locked in for the night in a Romanian mountain hut (supposedly to keep the bears out). The windows were barred, the privy was outside & the warden couldn't see there was a problem.

Moral of this tale - check the necessary vocabulary before leaving home - and take a suitable plastic bottle!

BTW - in the UK we also have `public conveniences'.

Since we are back to the "thug" thing, I just want to clarify that I was opposed to calling all football players thugs. Yes, some of them deserve the term as I live not far from the whole Aaron Hernandez scene and can attest to. However, most players and ex players are stand up guys who do a lot for both their local team communities and the communities where they grew up. I never knew it to be a term that is used against any particular race but rather bad people in general.

My SO's comments about the thug bowl comment was something along the lines of how sports sort of originated (in some ways) as ritualized warfare and that some sports are a lot more violent than others. In that light, the violence (needed) against the other team to protect your team is encouraged which is reinforcing to the participant.

Now that the discourse has cooled a bit, I'd like to add that I see a shade of "thug" to be not just any criminal but a kind of menacing one, one who threatens and intimidates while committing crimes. (So not a car thief or embezzler.)

I won't name names (why, I don't know--probably not to start another war on here) but there's a certain major, I'd say top 3, sports brand that I will never never purchase since they sponsored a [US] football player who tortured dogs. THAT is a thug, along with the abusers of women.

But I don't follow football per se, so I only hear of these cases when they make big, non-sports pages news (as when these crimes are committed). WHICH (to try to make this post relevant) I can't follow for a second and I certainly don't see how * understood the game either. The rules are "out there" and the frequent stopped clocks don't help either.

Oh, and to me, a toilet is the unit made of porcelain. "Toilets" might be the general term if you're asking directions in a gas station. I don't see the various options in the US as so much of a class thing unless something really deliberately crass is said. They're just variations.

I am weighing in to both of these issues as a student of English (the language), not as one who cares to argue or one-up anyone. I'm an editor and these nuances are a daily fascination.

A Quiet Interlude

Not much appears to be going on. Or tax season is about to begin in the US.  The IRS just never goes away.  Nor do bills (utility, cable, mortgage, food, cars, security, landscape people, cleaning people, koi person and so on).  There's always another one.  Elsewhere others just continue to glide forward without a real hint of being disrupted by some news out of California.   That would be the new King and Queen or the Prince/Princess of Wales.   Yes there are health risks which seemed to come out of nowhere.  But.  The difference is that these people are calmly living their lives with minimal drama.

As Time Passes and We Get Older

I started thinking about how time passes when reading some of the articles about the birthday.  It was interesting to think about it from the different points of view.  Besides, it kind of fits as a follow up the last post (the whole saga of can the two brothers reunite). So there is the requisite article about how he will be getting all kinds of money willed to him from his great-grandmother.  There were stories about Princess Anne as trustee (and not allowing earliest access to it all).  Whether or not any or all of this is true (there was money for him and/or other kids) has been debated with claims she actually died owing money with the Queen paying the debts to avoid scandal.  Don't know but I seem to remember that royal estates are shrouded from the public so we may not (ever) know. However, strange things like assisting in a book after repeated denials have popped up in legal papers so nothing is ever really predicable.   We are also seeing more articles which not only talk

The Opening Act of New Adventures in Retail

I keep thinking things will settle down to the lazy days of spring where the weather is gorgeous and there is a certain sense of peacefulness.  New flowers are coming out. increasing daylight so people can be outside/play and thinking gardening thoughts.  And life is quiet.  Calm. And then something happens like a comet shooting across the sky.  (Out of nowhere it arrives and then leaves almost as quickly.)   An update to a law suit.  Video of the website is released (but doesn't actually promote any specific product which can be purchased from the website).  A delay and then jam is given out (but to whom and possible more importantly - who did not make the list?).  Trophies almost fall (oops).  Information slips out like when the official date of beginning USA residency.  (now, isn't that interesting?) With them, it's always something in play or simmering just below the surface.  The diversity of the endeavors is really quite impressive.  This award, polo, speech, speech,
