Another Anniversary

A big number anniversary with the marking of twenty five years since Diana's untimely death. It's sad as she missed so many things she would have loved to been a part of with her sons.   They would like to have had her still around too.   You miss something when you lose a parent.  You can't call them and ask advise.  Or tell them of how you did something successfully so they can share that happy.  Birthdays and holidays pass without gifts in either direction.  Or you see something and want to share it because you know they'd love/laugh ... but you can't. Twenty five years is a long enough time to sometimes be able to look back with a more critical eye at the past.  And the world has had so many tragedies since then.  9/11.  Boxing Day Tsunami.  July 2005 bombings in London to name a few.  Kids grow up.  Go to uni.  People get married, have children, get divorced.  People die.  Life relentlessly m...

The Podcast Release - Who is listening?

So ... the first real podcast has been released! Finally something concrete that people can listen to.   What does it say?  I don't know.   I wonder when it was taped though.  Just how current does Serena talk about her life, her plans and so on?  Can you tell this from the content or is it just vague enough not to?  I just wonder if it were taped and finally cobbled (excuse me, edited) into something useable from some time ago or was it done last month.  Does it sound like a logical conversation flow? Is it even relatable to the current general public?  How well will it be received by said general public?  I know that you want certain demographics that are the target group(s) but would they, just by themselves, be enough to sweep this up high?  I was thinking you need them plus more (but I can and have been wrong). People are always looking for filler so I guess we can expect it to be mentioned in most or all the article...

The Long Slow Walk into the Sunset

I've been quite worried about The Queen.  Each morning I wake up and wonder - did she pass?  how do I put a black border around this space?  what to write?   I know that this would be a well planned out announcement and ceremony (the plans probably were started before her coronation) as  these are the people who live/breath, are immersed in protocol of how this should be done and think of all kinds of contingencies.  It is in good hands. But I also think about the emotional fall out for the family, the employees who have a chance to see her in situations none of us get or the citizens of the UK - many of whom have never known another monarch before you get to the world's response.  Or just the sheer loss of knowledge from dealing with the intricacies the politics of different countries, regime changes.  The world has changed so dramatically since she was crowned, let alone born.  I am reminded of my grandmother who once said that ...
