The Daily Mail - you know, one of those tabloids the Sussexes promised never to co-operate with again - has released the "exclusive" news that Meg and Harry are now couchsurfing at the Los Angeles home of Tyler Perry.
Perry, for our non-US Nutties who may not be familiar with him, is a great American success story, Once so poor he had to live in his car, he parlayed a single theater play into a media empire based in Atlanta, Georgia.
Perry's best-known works tend toward the popular side, mostly (very) lowbrow film comedies. But he's put thousands of people to work, the majority of them African-American, and helped many Black people become behind-the-camera professionals.
What does Tyler Perry want with Meg?
Being Duchess of Sussex and all, Meg probably thinks herself too good for one of Perry's C-list productions.
There's also the small matter of her not being able to act, particularly in the highly dramatic style Perry favors.
I would not like to see thespian Meg trying to escape from a fictional religious cult.
This is a woman who fluffed a standard "baby on her lap" scene.
There are multiple reasons for this - wildfires, the large homeless population, the fact that the film industry itself has dispersed. In addition, California income taxes have zoomed upward now that state taxes are no longer deductible from Federal income taxes.
I think the reason Perry loaned his house - which is by all accounts little-used, since he's based in Atlanta - was to garner it publicity for a possible sale.
High-end foreign buyers, particularly Middle Eastern and Asian, might be impressed by a (sort of) Royal tenancy.
Those types of buyers read the Mail Online, which is why the Daily Mail got the "exclusive" scoop about the Sussexes' current location.
(They also read the Mail Online as a kind of catalogue of half-dressed yachting ladies in the right column, but that's a story for another day.)

Casting Meg in a production?
Technically, Perry could give Meg an acting job. He's almost constantly working on television series that need a variety of types. (I see his latest is a horror series about a Black woman in a religious cult.)Being Duchess of Sussex and all, Meg probably thinks herself too good for one of Perry's C-list productions.

Can't sell the house
More likely, this is a real estate play. Big houses in California have been difficult to sell recently, not only because there are too many big houses and not enough big house buyers in the market at the moment, but because California in general is losing population. There are multiple reasons for this - wildfires, the large homeless population, the fact that the film industry itself has dispersed. In addition, California income taxes have zoomed upward now that state taxes are no longer deductible from Federal income taxes.

Where flattery is involved: `toady' and `sycophant'.
And simply: parasite.
The English terms have more punch but MM would undoubtedly prefer the last 2, derived from Greek.

It could be because her title was The Princess of Wales, when she divorced, she became, Diana, Princess of Wales. It’s not like Princess Michael who married Prince Michael of Kent, he’s never going to be King, but Charles is etc. so perhaps that’s the key difference?
@MaLissa: You asked if you forgot anyone. Yes, Aunts. In my case, and apparently @RebeccaB.’s, we’re very involved in our niece’s and nephew’s lives. I actually receive Mother’s Day cards, even though I don’t have children of my own.

LOL :) I also forgot sisters. Abject apologies for forgetting Aunts, Sisters, cousins and very close friends. I don't have children either (married late @ 44) but been babysitting, nannying and taking care of babies for aunts, sisters, cousins and very close friends. So I've had some experience. I'm the "second mom" to a lot of them. And I do a better job than what I've seen Harry's First Wife and her child.
If the book is sold in the UK, through HarperCollins in the UK, or even though the American office, the price is given in sterling. When people trade internationally, they deal with different currencies, so on the Amazon UK site, the price is given in sterling, but on the Amazon USA site, the price is given in dollars, and so on.

Prince Michael is a Duke but prince by birth. Princess Michael could use Dutchess whatever her name is but chooses princess. Same is true for any of the Dutchess ie Princess William or Princess Henry.
Even if Harry and Meghan divorce she will get to keep his title and like Sarah Ferguson remain Dutchess of Sussex unless she remarried.
I have been wrong before and will be again. thanks
A little late for VE Day, but I suppose better late than never.
I'll start a new thread.
Prince Micheal of Kent does not hold the ducal title, that’s his older brother’s title and he’s married to Katherine who’s the Duchess of Kent. Princess Michael is just that.
So, Harry is going to be on BBC talking about survivors of WWII. Odd!
'Did you guys hear about the African-American young man who was gunned down for no reason while jogging?
It makes me so mad when arrogant American celebrities like Oprah & Markle scream "racism" whenever their narcisistic selves don't get the kiss-ass treatment they expect while abroad. Projecting their own country's racism onto places they travel to & well-meaning people they meet. Just ugly behaviour... Throwing the race card anytime you don't get the diva treatment you think you deserve trivialises real DANGEROUS, DEADLY, UNHINGED racism like what happened to that innocent young man.'
This☝. And in addition to this- by only focusing on certain crimes of racism they lose the narrative that all racism is abhorrent no matter the color. While no one is comfortable talking about it this is the very reason we should, especially when ppl of such celebrity status seemingly ignore racism unless it is perpetrated by one race only against another and only when it serves their purpose and platform.
I have always tried to respect Nutty's wishes concerning the blog so I will not bring this narrative/ platform up again that our Media/ Celeb/ Govt pushes, even though very pertinent to the topic at hand, nor will I point out that HAMS have attached themselves to this same narrative which has been discussed many times on here. The fact that ppl don't want to discuss it doesn't mean it isn't happening. Just ask the Brits. Their entire country has been blighted by this false inflammatory message which absolutely trivializes real horrific racist crimes, as Scandi has so eloquently stated.
My bad on that. Principal is still sound I hope.
So Princess Michael would not have any title then if she didn’t use Princess? And that is probably why she uses it?
Great comment and thanks for the Brit bit. The horrible duo have helped create a divisive and an ugly and false narrative within and about Britain.
Understanding titles hereditary and bestowed ones aren’t easy to understand, so don’t worry. Yes, Princess Michael has no other British title that I’m aware of, but I believe she is a Baroness by birth.

There's a screenshot here, but have not found a video:

Here is some of what he said:
'The One Show got in touch and asked if I could shine a light on a group of veterans that lots of people might not know of,' he said.
'Those individuals that signed up chose to serve, then had life-changing injuries, they didn't stop there. That's why its incredibly impressive and yet at the same time, incredibly uplifting.'
Why does Harry think he has an opinion that counts?
Hahaha! MM would probably prefer the last two, derived from the Greek! Best laugh of the day. The humor would probably go over the heads of the “parents” of the oversized Arkie. Love your erudition as well as your dry wit.
