Heading into the Holidays

 Lots of questions about the future.

Are they likely to do some sort of flash PR for the holidays?

Or more from the prior publicized joint ventures?  When will we see something from Netflix? Or more Spotify?

Or even Pearl?

And, what do you think the Holiday card will be?

Take heart - this garbage from Afua won't wash in Court, or it shouldn't.

She wasn't there - it's called `hearsay' and that doesn't count as evidence. On the other hand, I bet there are those who can truthfully say on oath that they witnessed * being a complete cow to her staff or were on the receiving end themselves. She has no way of proving that it didn't happen, whereas I bet there's plenty of evidence that it did.

I recall a report about the staffer secretly recording her raving at someone but that it had been hidden away. Whether secret recordings are admissible in Court or not is another matter.

My own experience is that a narc in the witness box will give themselves away, they are so convinced that they are right that they are incapable of seeing that they are damaging their own case by saying downright stupid things, even in a `he said, she said...' engagement.

What happened in my case when it became clear that narc refused to acknowledge that Divorce Law had moved on over the previous 100 years or so:

Judge: `Well, Mr X, I don't what you hope to achieve by opposing this application. What do you want the Court to do?'

Mr X: `I want the court to send my wife back to me so she can do her duties as a wife- '

Judge: `Really, Mr X? What about your duties as a husband?'

At least I got a laugh out of it.

Some interesting tweets from the Theresa Longo Fans account, some repeated from last year.

* The Harkles spend hours on their phones reading everything about themselves.
* He is super conscious about his image.
* She has screaming fits if she gets criticism in the press.

@WBBM
Thanks for sharing your personal experience. It may be difficult for any normal person to understand and even empathize with a narc. I find that I need constant reminders that one cannot use normal behaviour to predict what they say or do. They seem to have a baffling stupidity. Using 'normal' reasoning, I think it is likely everything is going to get worse and not better for them. The base material from which difficult but lasting change can be made seems to be missing with them.

The Body Language Guy has a new video about the night she supposedly was suicidal. It is so very creepy the way she behaved that night. He was obviously in turmoil.

Neil Sean suggests that according to insiders, the reason the BBC was so biased in favour of the Harkles, is because Amol Rajan is hoping to get a sit down interview with Prince Dumbass when his book is released next year.

It's high time the BBC got a mighty slap on the wrist.
@Sandie - I totally agree, unless one has had direct experience of such people it's v. difficult to accept that apparently rational people can behave in this way. Having suffered at their hands and finally discovered what's going on in their heads, I find them easy to spot.

I expect most, if not all, of us here say the same.

The Body Language Guy actually got me to feel sorry for Harry again.

*'s evil narc smile, after she had turned his emotions topsy-turvy, and then taunted him some more with that "Thank you," was chilling.

@Sandie & @Enbre,

I personally thought the Body Language Guy got it wrong in this instance.

Not only was this the night of TBW's 'supposed' suicide story to her hubby earlier in the day... but it was also the night that the crowd were heard to BOO them both. Haz found it hard to conceal his anger, whilst the actress did what she does best and simply grinned away as if she didn't have a care in the world.
SwampWoman said…
He DID look quite upset in that Body Language Guy video. I hadn't looked closely before (well, to be honest, I try to avoid videos featuring them lest my eyes be permanently stuck rolled back in my head). He's miserable, she looks like she's inwardly gloating.

i still think that “suicidal” night was Haz perhaps on that road and she like the narc she is co-opted what was going on with him that day. she doesn’t have an original bone in her body and would in all likelihood put it in the public domain. and then tell haz that we are a team what you feel i feel and if you were suicidal well i was too that’s how close we are. i will take the heat for the comment to protect you. it’s good to get it out there. mental health and all blah blah (her not me saying that)

from above the rumor is it was a video of the meltdown with catherine and charlotte. that will never see the light of day. if it were a staffer i think the same thing since they wouldn’t want to have it plastered all over the media. over been blasted at work. however, it could be used in an inquiry but one that doesn’t come with criminal charges and the summary with some incidents and worker names blacked out could be made public. remember the inquiry is about how to improve the chain of command and handling complaints. well she’s gone so that part of the solution has already been reached.

That 'Thank You', once she had secured his hand on her lap, was the creepiest thing I have ever seen.

@Miggy
I agree, that we don't get the full picture without considering the supposed booing. However, I don't think the supposed booing (supposedly clearly heard on the video) changes what is revealed about the pathology of the couple and the context of her supposedly being suicidal is very informative. In other words, the booing might have been the trigger for this behaviour in this instance but it is not the cause of the pathology that is revealed.

@snarkythebeast
You pinpoint a bizarre aspect of the video: he looks so miserable he is suicidal, not her. Yes, I think she is crazy enough to co-opt his breakdown and make it all about her.

I would love The Body Language Panel to analyse the body language in the videos of this night!
Enbrethiliel said…
@Miggy

Thanks for the reminder about the booing. You're right that it's possible that that was what got Harry upset, rather than his wife's tearful confessions. Even Mr. Rosas is hugely skeptical of * saying that that was the day she told Harry about being suicidal.

There's another reason for my compassion for Harry in the video. Everyone who has ever been the "primary source" to a narcissist says that there is an incredible drain on you that you can barely understand -- and when you're at your lowest, the narcissist is like a cat that got both the cream and the canary. It's almost as if they have the opposite of empathy, because they do sense that you're in pain, but that's because they're feeding off it with gusto. Harry's distress coupled with *'s smug smile seems to be the clearest illustration of that we've ever had. (I keep thinking that the one great thing about the Harkle union is the opportunity to educate the world about narcissism.) It almost doesn't matter that she may not have caused it.

I also have a theory that * is grandiose enough that no random day for the suicidal thoughts would do. So when she was drafting her fanfiction about herself, she deliberately chose a day we have a lot of footage of. She wanted people to go straight from the Oprah interview to clips from the Cirque du Soleil. And I suspect that she picked that day, over several other possible choices, because she remembered how bad Harry felt. That's the reason she has a special fondness for it. He's probably like to forget that night, but when she mentioned it during the interview, she got a lot of people to replay the clips and hear him get booed all over again.

You're right that a video which involves Catherine and Charlotte would never be leaked. Yes, it might topple *, but it would drag two innocent people down with her. And Charlotte is only a child; she doesn't need a story like that linked to her reputation before she can begin to carve it out herself.

I had been hoping there was a video of the teapot incident in Australia. But I wouldn't be surprised if that rumor were an amalgam of two stories: The wedding meltdown (which does have video) and the teapot throwing (which doesn't).

I don't know, maybe it's just me... but having watched the video of them at The Royal Albert Hall again, I'm a little confused as to who the 'thank you' from TBW was aimed at.

* Haz shakes the hand of the man to his right, sits back down, she grabs his hand and he let's go... then they both applaud the gentleman while the host is speaking.

* The host then says something that I can't quite make out but he ends with a loud THANK YOU. Moments earlier Haz has given TBW his hand... she takes it and says nothing at first, but at the exact moment the host says 'thank you... TBW appears to say it too.

Probably a coincidence... who knows?

So, I was thinking about all the truly innocent ways one might question the future skin color and this rolled around:

What if the question of skin color was not about how she might impact the skin color but him? with his really pale skin and reddish hair?

They would, of course, be much more familiar with him and sun concerns.
Enbrethiliel said…
@Elsbeth1847

That's a really good point. Remember that Prince Charles's first words upon seeing Harry included a comment on his red hair. And being "ginger" seems to carry a lot more baggage for the British than I may ever understand.

Had Charles been speculating aloud about how a new grandchild would look, he would have been more likely to have the "ginger gene" in mind than any black genes.

So IF the conversation about Fauxrchie's coloring had happened, it wouldn't even have had anything to do with what DNA * was bringing to the table. But she still managed to twist it and make it about herself.

I agree that Catherine must have been so angry and frustrated. She would have already had to overlook *'s attempt to take sneaky photos of George, while in William and Catherine's own home. That wasn't just a trampling of boundaries (which would have been bad enough), but a possible security breach. So a direct attack on another one of her children must have pushed a pregnant Catherine to her limit. And * was just getting started!

How it must have rankled Catherine, who loves children, to see *, who hates children, blatantly strap on that moon bump for ten months. And then to be forced to participate in the christening photo farce. (I wonder whether the Cambridges got a direct order from the Queen to play nice that day.)

When Megxit happened, Catherine might have thought she were finally free. But then * told Oprah that Catherine had actually made her cry and that * had been nice enough to forgive her.

The cheek. The gall. The narcissism.

Her husband was lightskinned of Spanish German descent, she was about *s color. Sadly for both her children they were born with dark skin. I say sadly because of HER attitude. SMH.

I know many here won't watch Netflix but the new film Passing portrays this phenomena quite well. Passing is what TBW has been doing for years until it benefited her more to be "Black".

It's understandable as a protective measure example when Jewish families anglicize their names. This happens in my culture as well. As obnoxious as it may sound, in some cultures it's understandable but when she went after the titled and priviledged and well protected spare, it crossed the line into disgusting.

Another thought about her lawyer and what the layer said (as hearsay).

It sounds like she was practicing her speech for the court almost. Except in real life, that kind of thing (given to the level it was within a "documentary"), could be viewed as potentially prejudicing the potential juror pool. This was not some small sound bite in the evening news which gets forgotten by the public by the next topic. No. This had reverb in multiple media.

I don't think it would be a jury pool if ANL were able to go forward though. It just strikes me as rather reel life where you get this wonderful moment to make your speech and the opposition crumbles. Similar thinking that popularity could possible change the line of succession.

Is she a spawn of Satan or just so mentally off-center it’s pitiable? I have not personally known any psychopaths, and it’s a thorny question. The damage she caused this is the same, irregardless of whether she is actually capable of helping herself or not. But what do we make of all of these twisted disciples of hers, these sycophants who caca with glee as they lay into they are chief nemesis, the Duchess of Cambridge, with maniacal glee? If Catherine evidence is a tiny bit of irritation over having Maggot and Mole Shoved into her face yet again as she’s just trying to carry out her official royal duties…Duties which Maggot and Mole Took a huge dump all over while flipping off the entire family…Does she not have cause? Maggot and Mole act like spiteful toddlers, spewing the most awful lies but they are supposed to be welcomed with smiles and joy, even in passing mention? Maggot chief complaint I guess the royal family, apart from racism and misogyny and having too many rules, of course, was those a natural and unhealthy stiff upper lips they were always displaying. Yet if one of them dares show a tiny glimmer of a natural human reaction, who is all over that they could stink bug on shit?

This kind of blind adulation and collective viciousness by proxy reminds me of the rise of Herr Hitler really…Has another public figure inspired such mass toxic devotion to her evil agenda than has St.Maggot? Even other notorious cult leaders we’ve had since have had a much lesser sphere of influence because the Internet hadn’t been invented. It truly boggles my mind. Hitler had his downfall, but it took 12 long years, the last half of which was comprised of incomprehensible carnage. Is maggots downfall at hand, or are we just gearing Up for the real carnage phase?

When you think about all her own moral flip flopping over the years, Lainey and Meghan are 2 peas in a pod. Both are extremely ambitious and will drop their past just as soon as it becomes inconvenient. It's interesting that Chinese culture places so much importance on the family and ancestor worship set against a woman who trashed both her own family and that of her husbands so she could stoop to power. I rewatched the video about 4 different types of narcissism. The Sussexes' soap opera has been going on for so long that it was pre-virus times that I first watched it!

You hit the nail on the head when you speak of porous boundaries! Here's my quick look at the types and how they fit her pathology.

Grandiose? Most definitely. She has always been grandiose.

Malignant? Most definitely. This is what will unravel her. Blatant perjury. Even if she does escape consequences this time, her patholgy will get her into trouble again. She is so hell bent on going after those who did not worship at her feet and give her everything she demanded immediately, and especially those who did call her out ...!

Covert? Nope. Yes, she always blames everyone else, but she never accepts failure at all. (Even when she apologised for forgetting because she was so busy, she did not admit that she lied and she sent her lawyer to go after those who dared to expose her .. as she did nothing wrong and they did!) She just continues to push her grandiose fantasies ... most successful royal tour ever, supermodel, successful A-list Hollywood actress, global style icon, bestsellng author, global humanitarian, standing ovation led by the UN Secretary-general ...

Communal? Nope. She only pushed the charity stuff to get attention, specially when they got to LA and it was the only legitimate way she could get out there and get attention. How do you do pap walks in the time of the virus? Deliver food to vulnerable people, and when the organisation does not give you a slot or you quckly get tired if the activity, travel miles from your huge property to walk the dogs. She is not an Anjelina Jolie (a very successful communal narcissist) but a grandiose narcissist desperate to get papped.

@Magatha,

yes, Lainey was responsible for the story about Catherine not inviting that thing to go shopping with her, and she kept bringing it up, as though it was a crime against humanity.

Lainey was also responsible for spreading the rumour about Rose and William. She brings it up often and at every opportunity.

Article in Newsweek (excerpt)

Prince Harry has linked COVID-19 to the HIV pandemic, during which Princess Diana did some of her most inspiring work.

The Duke of Sussex said both global public health emergencies were prolonged by "corporate greed and political failure" blocking access to treatment.

He called for major pharmaceutical companies to share vaccine technology and allow doses to be produced locally in the developing world, as part of the People's Vaccine campaign.

In a video marking World AIDS Day, Harry said: "There are striking parallels between COVID-19 and another deadly pandemic, one that emerged 40 years ago—HIV."

In the footage, he added: "This is a story about how corporate greed and political failure have prolonged both pandemics and what we can do to stop it."

Let's step back and not get into specifics of this country or that country is/was or will be doing about covid.

It's just a topic which seems to generate a lot of heated discussion in not friendly ways.

And it gets away from the general topic of the blog.

@Sandie,

I also diagnose * as mainly a Malignant Narc with about evenly split Grandiose & Covert characteristics. Women are more likely to be covert, which is characterized by a high level of passive-agressivity, pot-stirring, Chinese whispers, etc. Essentially all those Mean Girl high school games ratcheted up to the 100th power.

She can certainly grandstand and be Grandiose when given the spotlight/platform (the way she crashed the British Fashion Awards; the pontificating to poor black women in South Africa about how she was their sister in suffering, etc.) but Grandiosity is not her primary public face. Donald Trump would be an example of Grandiosity as his primary characteristic. These types are much more Extravert and dynamic than * is. I would not apply either of these traits to her. She *tries* (painfully) to be that breezy charming, charismatic life of the party type but it is just so false. For all of the Donald's faults, he admires and supports the Queen, which is quite stunning really since he so rarely thinks as well of anyone as he does himself.

*'s brand of narcissism is a whole lot more sneaky and interior, so definitely covert. But also malignant. I get the feeling that the Grandiose Narc, though he/she hurts people by way of collateral damage is just a whole lot more straightforward in pursuing their Looking out for #1 goals. Once they are done with somebody, they're done. They don't spend months and years plotting revenge and planting smear stories in the media like someone else we could mention. Compare how Grandiose Narc DT tries his staff he's used up and run through vs. how the Duckarse of Suxxit treats others who've 'wronged' her. DT's likely forgotten the names of most of the people who he views as having let him down. They are no longer relevant to his present day. Someone else we know is fueled by vendetta because look how she's going after Catherine still.

To paraphrase a line from BBC Sherlock, "She will outlive God trying to have the last word."

The Community Narcissism caught my eye due to the mode by which she and HaznoNutz are attempting to stay famous--as philanthropic influencers. But this is just a means to an end--fame--for her, and she picked it because it's trendy and because it doesn't require any special work or talent--it's just promoting herself essentially. Dressing up for photoshoots with celebs like Gloria Steinem and Melissa McCarthy is *really* gonna change the world, sure. It looked like an easy route to being like Kim Kardashian. If * had any other means besides virtue-signalling to stay in the papers--like actual artistic talent or drive of any sort--she'd do it.

Thanks for your explanation of covert narcissism! Dr Ramani's description did not ring true for me as a dscription of TBW, but mainly because she says they blame failure on others but TBW never admits failure. She just keeps pushing what she wants to be true (global style icon, global hunanitarian, and so on) and completely ignores reality. She does kind of fake humility and vulnerability, using her status as a woman and as a mother and as a person of colour, but failure is never even acknowledged. I guess I got caught up with that aspect of covert narcissism!

She is definitely grandiose, hence the mansion, the huge entourage, the private planes, the huge amount spent on ill-fitting clothes she will wear once, the clearing of the stands at Wimbledon ...

Change of topic: Why have they not produced anything for Spotify? They hired a couple of people to do that and those people have been in place for months and months now. What the heck is going on? Are we going to be subjected to another Christmas special and that will be it for the next year?

Is she going to manifest another pregnancy to be unveiled at Christmas as a distraction?

True enough. I think there was something about that with the woman who came from Pinterest.

In thinking about it, what about the royal ones? The ones that they poached from the Cambridges? Like Jason Knauf? Seems like he was taken in by the love bombing that she does to males. Harder to understand the female ones being taken in by her.

Maybe in the beginning they were excited to be part of something new? Maybe had nowhere to elevate to in current job and this was a chance to level up?

Wasn't Samantha Cohen asked to work for them by the Queen? To specifically delay her retirement to help get the Harkles up and running?

Sorry if this has posted but (like him or hate him) Trump has said some damning things about Meghan, such as..

"Meghan was 'very inappropriate' when asked by Mr Farage about claims she used her royal title to meddle in US politics, by writing on the Sussexes' headed paper to lobby Congress members on issues such as paternity leave. 'She is trying to do things that I think are very inappropriate,' he said."

and...

"Earlier this year, Trump said he would campaign for the White House in 2024 if Meghan was joining the race. The former president was commenting on rumors that the duchess was 'meeting with Democrat operatives [and] she may want to run'. He told Fox News: 'I hope that happens because if that happened then I think I'd have an even stronger feeling towards running. I'm not a fan of hers. I've met with the Queen and I think the Queen is a tremendous person and I'm not a fan of Meghan.' Pictured: The former president boarding Air Force One before departing Harlingen, Texas, on January 12, 2021."

www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/donald-trump-makes-shocking-claims-about-meghan-markle

The tell-all interview of Trump was conducted by the UK politician, Farage and advertised in the article as..."Donald Trump makes SHOCKING claims about Meghan Markle."

"In an interview to be aired on GB News at 7pm tonight in the UK, the former US president claims the actions of both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in recent years have caused pain to the monarch."

@Sandie,

I recall reading that one of *'s circle during the pre-Suits/pre-Trevor years saying that * would take to her bed for days with a bottle of rose (not affording Tig back in those days) when she had another failed audition. So there are elements of bipolarity with her too, I think, muddying the waters of her narcissism. So she may be partly the vulnerable/covert type--her MO is playing the 'poor victimized Black/female/American/woke me, victimized by so many heartless institutions . . .the heartless British royal family, British public, particularly the nasty Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the little old lady they report to with all her rigid rules. And all the casting directors/producers/auteurs who refused to acknowledge my thespian greatness, dazzling beauty and iconic style--ALL of them have kept me down from claiming my due to the Emmy/Oscar/Tony, the Nobel Peace Prize and the Presidency of the United States. And all the Vogue covers on all the international editions ever!" She still refuses to admit to mistakes or being anything lesser than she thinks she is, but she's honed the blame game to a high gloss.

A lot of covert narcs might want to fly under the radar and not go for global fame or global style icon status with pictures in the tabloids every day. It's enough for many narcs to exert control over their immediate circle and they aren't really looking to be famous. Too bad for us that * isn't this type because we wouldn't know anything about her. * is a particularly Hollywood strain of Narc, but she seems to be even more deluded and sick than most, because the dsymorphia she's got about herself is extreme. * has got reverse dysmorphia--when she looks in the mirror, she sees a 5'10" willowy supermodel with the most brilliant mind known to womankind. Ha!

Yes, they went on at some length during the engagement interview about how they'd love to be the first royals to adopt and have a diverse family of love that way.

To mention this so overtly in their very first appearance together told me that they were both absolutely aware at that time that one or both of them was sterile and natural children would not be happening. I view this as the first of *'s trial balloons--testing the waters to see how something she wants to happen will be received. Sometime between that interview and October 2018, they were informed that children via adoption would not be entered into the line of succession because there was no provision for that in an entirely heredity system. So then she had to scramble to debut a 'real pregnancy' which would have, if authentic, have had to transpire a scant 6-8 weeks after their wedding. She was allegedly already past the 3-month scan in mid-October, meaning she was in her fourth month in Australia. Sure, Rachel. Even 20 year old Diana took longer than 6 weeks to conceive a royal heir.
Enbrethiliel said…
@Hikari and @Sandie

I think * is definitely a malignant narc. When Dr. Ramani said, "They lie, they cheat, they steal," I remembered when * was arranging things with Jessica so she could merch designer clothes and pocket the money Prince Charles was giving her for her wardrobe. That was a time she did all three in one go. I'm sure other Nutties can think of more.

* has grandiose traits, too, but I think both her limited success in Hollywood and Toronto, and all the rules and protocols of the BRF, did quite a bit to keep them in check. Which must have been frustrating for her. I think the baby shower was the best it ever got for her.

Wimbledon, on the other hand, was just a tantrum. She didn't want to clear a section for herself and her non-celebrity "university friends" as much as she wanted to sit in the royal box with a glamorous entourage. But maybe she couldn't get the "right" people or the "right" clothes, and her nose got out of joint. So she showed up in jeans -- which someone on her staff must have told her wouldn't be allowed -- in order to spoil things for as many people as possible, just as she felt things had been spoiled for her. How dare the world not allow her a proper Wimbledon moment.
Enbrethiliel said…
@Hikari
So she may be partly the vulnerable/covert type--her MO is playing the 'poor victimized Black/female/American/woke me, victimized by so many heartless institutions

I recognized someone I know in Dr. Ramani's description of the covert narcissist. As more and more people experience what it's like to work with him, it gets harder and harder for him to claim that the only reason he hasn't done better in life is that circumstances were usually against him.

So my sense of covert narcissism is that it's the province of unsuccessful people. They know they can't get away with being grandiose, so they settle for this.

Accordingly, it creates a little cognitive dissonance for me to see the same traits in *, who actually did succeed in lots of ways. She got a recurring role on a series. (Yes, it's small potatoes, but if a friend of ours who was a decent person got it, we'd be so thrilled, wouldn't we?) She gave a speech at the UN. She married a British prince in a ceremony televised all over the world. She got to mingle with A-list celebrities (at least for a little while). She got deals from Netflix and Spotify. She was on the cover of multiple magazines. She gave an interview to Oprah. Again, these are all hollow victories, but they keep her from saying that she never got a break. Which must be an awkward position for a covert narcissist. * is the most successful failure in the world.

This is from Hello! A statement by the witch (sick bucket at the ready strongly recommended):

In a powerful statement Meghan said: "This is a victory not just for me, but for anyone who has ever felt scared to stand up for what's right. While this win is precedent setting, what matters most is that we are now collectively brave enough to reshape a tabloid industry that conditions people to be cruel, and profits from the lies and pain that they create.

"From day one, I have treated this lawsuit as an important measure of right versus wrong. The defendant has treated it as a game with no rules. The longer they dragged it out, the more they could twist facts and manipulate the public (even during the appeal itself), making a straightforward case extraordinarily convoluted in order to generate more headlines and sell more newspapers - a model that rewards chaos above truth. In the nearly three years since this began, I have been patient in the face of deception, intimidation, and calculated attacks.

"Today, the courts ruled in my favor - again - cementing that The Mail on Sunday, owned by Lord Jonathan Rothermere, has broken the law. The courts have held the defendant to account, and my hope is that we all begin to do the same. Because as far removed as it may seem from your personal life, it's not. Tomorrow it could be you. These harmful practices don't happen once in a blue moon - they are a daily fail that divide us, and we all deserve better."
Maneki Neko said…

I’m not in the least bit surprised. This case going to court would have been unprecedented,. I have no idea how 3 appeal judges came to this conclusion, but I think you only have to look at how the establishment is, and see why they wanted it this way. There’s no different way or verdict this case can go now, with near zero chance of the court sanctioning an appeal of the appeal ever likely.

This whole stinky mess could very likely backfire on the Establishment . I don’t see how this conclusion will benefit the Royal Family. 🧐

Especially in the first part of the video, he really made me laugh. He does make a really good case for the Harkles being famous but not influential.

He showed a clip of the lawyer speaking about bullying, and the camera was focused on the face of the interviewer. I am not familiar with him so maybe that is how he always looks, but I really got a 'I am really not buying this BS' kind of vibe from him.
@Snarkie - I too think it's a bit weird that she made it personal with Rothermere. Was it some kind of warning? We see her as a blackmailer (we may be wrong of course) but is there anyone she hasn't got something on? He's seriously rich, after all.

@Sandie- I took it that the BLG was saying that Mr*'s face was hidden so his expression couldn't be read. Rajan put himself in the firing line instead.

Well, I did say on November 12 that I didn't think ANL would win the appeal based on what I saw of the hearings. British & EU privacy laws are pretty prohibitive, & without *'s 5 friends testimony, it was hard to prove that she wanted the letter published.

I am surprised at the rather casual attitude displayed by the judges toward *'s misleading statements regarding her cooperation with the authors of the book about her. In the US, even in a civil case, the litigants would be deposed under oath. Was this not the case here? A US president lost his law license for lying in a deposition. Is 'forgetfulness' an adequate excuse for misleading the court in the UK?

The judge indicated that the court was releasing some further statements regarding the case. It will be interesting to see if there are any changes in the terms of the SJ settlement. Like @JennS, I have read that ANL can appeal to yet another court. Don't know if that's true.

I have to point out that the bullying charges are not a legal matter before any court of law. They are part of an internal investigation into the inner workings of the offices of the RF. The RF most likely has the last word on how much of the investigation is revealed to the public, & it will not result in any legal penalties.

I have always maintained that DM was poking the bear. They knew that they were going way beyond fair use in how much of the letter they reproduced, and they could have written that story and kept within the law. They knew there was a lot of dirt to reveal about the duo, and TBW in particular. Without the court case, they never would have got hold of that e-mail correspondence with Jason and could not have legally published those emails in their entirety. So much more that could have been revealed in an appeal and a court case, but the Harkles were saved, for now.

Still can't believe she got away with perjury ... not even a harsh reprimand.
She may be Victorious but is also notorious.

Sorry to cause confusion. Yes, the camera was focused on his face when the lawyer was speaking. So, The Body Language Guy could not analyse her body language. But, I picked up the vibe 'I am not buying this BS' on his face as he listened to her. I am not familiar with him, so maybe that is his standard listening face in an interview.

Sandie - yoy may be right. and adding the owner's name to me was a direct challenge. So maybe that was enough to unleash some more from the mail. her mea culpa was worded maximize the non-leage stuff about stress and miscarriage which really should have had no bearing. (and if she had a surrogate and the surrogate miscarried all the more fun she will have on the judgement day that counts!) Its hard to prove someone didnt forget unless there is some communication at the time of the original court submissions that dispute that. Its the bill clinton deposition defense I dont recall. hard to prove someone is lying with that response (now that was precedent setting not this). The mea culpa was crafted with enought wiggle worm. Yes she will be in gloat mode but she always overplays her hand. Her victory is for today but tomorrow she's still stuck to the ball and chain, wont be allowed back into the family fold, her "kids" wont have titles.

Wonder how she will spend the cash? Chanel, new nose or boobs?

Not a good idea to look at the blog before you to bed! Hope you won't have any nightmares but a peaceful night.

Your statement ".....I agree with everyone that this is sickening. She did not win because of a technicality but because the judges swallowed everything she said as gospel truth and ignored her perjury."

For a moment I thought I was reading about the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard case. This is history repeating itself but in another case. UK judges have shown themselves to be unreliable with the truth and perjury does not exist in their courts. As long as the WOMAN swears to tell the truth, her words can only be the truth or at worst, a lapse of memory. We know Judge Nicol in the Johnny Depp case was bought, what about Warby?

A Quiet Interlude

 Not much appears to be going on. Living Legends came and went without fanfare ... what's the next event?   Super Bowl - Sunday February 11th?  Oscar's - March 10th?   In the mean time, some things are still rolling along in various starts and stops like Samantha's law suit. Or tax season is about to begin in the US.  The IRS just never goes away.  Nor do bills (utility, cable, mortgage, food, cars, security, landscape people, cleaning people, koi person and so on).  There's always another one.  Elsewhere others just continue to glide forward without a real hint of being disrupted by some news out of California.   That would be the new King and Queen or the Prince/Princess of Wales.   Yes there are health risks which seemed to come out of nowhere.  But.  The difference is that these people are calmly living their lives with minimal drama.

As Time Passes and We Get Older

 I started thinking about how time passes when reading some of the articles about the birthday.  It was interesting to think about it from the different points of view.  Besides, it kind of fits as a follow up the last post (the whole saga of can the two brothers reunite). So there is the requisite article about how he will be getting all kinds of money willed to him from his great-grandmother.  There were stories about Princess Anne as trustee (and not allowing earliest access to it all).  Whether or not any or all of this is true (there was money for him and/or other kids) has been debated with claims she actually died owing money with the Queen paying the debts to avoid scandal.  Don't know but I seem to remember that royal estates are shrouded from the public so we may not (ever) know. However, strange things like assisting in a book after repeated denials have popped up in legal papers so nothing is ever really predicable.   We are also seein...

The Opening Act of New Adventures in Retail

 I keep thinking things will settle down to the lazy days of spring where the weather is gorgeous and there is a certain sense of peacefulness.  New flowers are coming out. increasing daylight so people can be outside/play and thinking gardening thoughts.  And life is quiet.  Calm. And then something happens like a comet shooting across the sky.  (Out of nowhere it arrives and then leaves almost as quickly.)   An update to a law suit.  Video of the website is released (but doesn't actually promote any specific product which can be purchased from the website).  A delay and then jam is given out (but to whom and possible more importantly - who did not make the list?).  Trophies almost fall (oops).  Information slips out like when the official date of beginning USA residency.  (now, isn't that interesting?) With them, it's always something in play or simmering just below the surface.  The diversity of the endeavors is really ...
