Yes, finally.  A picture of the new baby.  And, a picture of a happy family.

I heard it! She only says one thing in Río de la Plata Spanish: "¡Mirá vos!" Here we use the "vos" (it's the colloquial "tú") instead of the "tú" (formal "tú") which is more widely used in other Spanish-speaking countries. The conjugation of the verb "look", "Mirá", that she uses is correct, in the third person of the Rio de la Plata Spanish of "voseo" (the use of "vos" instead of "tú"). She is silly when she says that our Spanish sounds like Italian (maybe because she once read that we got lots of Italian immigration), but that has nothing to do with our Spanish, as this is a variation that comes from colonial times.
In conclusion, she only says one thing in Río de la Plata Spanish, but what she says is totally basic, like going to France and saying "S'il vous plait" or going to Italy and saying "Per favore", something so basic that anyone can know. This does not prove that she speaks our variation of Spanish. In conclusion, I still think that she is a fraud.

1) they don’t own it the owner is selling and they need to move out so they are trying to get ahead of it.
2) they own it and are selling it because they need the cash.

neither looks like a win for them. maybe the lawyers have put a lien on it for payment and maybe the daily mail didn’t pay up big bucks. hmmmm

Something Lady Colin Campbell said, that the Montesh*tshow house is in a community with rules, and that the witch is always breaking the rules, trying to get around them, causing grief for the other homeowners, barging onto others' properties when she hears a gathering/party. IMO the residents who didn't sell and move have banded together to form an iron fence. The witch is frustrated and angry she can't get her way. She's most likely run out of people willing to work for her.

The Body Language Guy summarizes his thoughts on why Harry's memoir will be a flop:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffJdWz1E5xQ

Why Penguin Random House didn't see this going in is beyond me. Even people who'd love the insider scoop on what Harry really thought when meeting Camilla for the first time (to take one example) aren't going to start liking Harry after he gives it to them. He'll spill the beans, get some money, and then just ruin his reputation and his relationships further.

Plus, I think what people actually want to know are Prince William's thoughts and reactions. Harry's brand was so much better when he was content to be one of "Diana's sons" or even "the spare" to his brother. The further he gets from William, the more uninteresting he reveals himself to be.

At this point, the only chance he has at writing a best-selling memoir is if he divorces * and then writes a tell-all about his life starting in 2017. Dude, I would pay to read that.

A reminder about narcissism:

"Narcissism does not necessarily represent a surplus of self-esteem or of insecurity; more accurately, it encompasses a hunger for appreciation or admiration, a desire to be the center of attention, and an expectation of special treatment reflecting perceived higher status."

"Narcissism is characterized by a grandiose sense of self-importance, a lack of empathy for others, a need for excessive admiration, and the belief that one is unique and deserving of special treatment."

"Pathological narcissism, or narcissistic personality disorder, is rare: It affects an estimated 1 percent of the population, a prevalence that hasn't changed since clinicians started measuring it. The disorder is suspected when narcissistic traits impair a person’s daily functioning. That dysfunction typically causes friction in relationships due to the pathological narcissist's lack of empathy. It may also manifest as antagonism, fueled by grandiosity and attention-seeking. In seeing themselves as superior, the pathological narcissist naturally views everyone else as inferior and may be intolerant of disagreement or questioning."

https://www.psychologytoday.com/intl/basics/narcissism

With time, and taking the long view, I do think there is a compelling case for the label of pathological narcissism. How much her daily functions are impaired is not something we can know as we do not live with her, but I think there are signs that may be the case.

Weight gain: This may be linked to pregnancies and genetics (perhaps even the cessation of 'dietary aids' because of pregnancies). Perhaps I am being judgmental, but if you can afford all that designer gear and itty bitty jewellery, you can afford a good dietician to design a healthy balanced diet for you. She is not in control of her eating and drinking. Plus, there is the gym in Mudslide Manor, and plenty of garden for lots of walking/jogging.

Failure to deliver: Every project she has taken on has bombed. And it is not as if she was designing a spaceship. She loves talking, so the podcasts for Spotify should have been highly achievable. And so on ...

Predictions for 2022? More of the same. Half-baked projects that flop. A grand tour with nothing but a title and a royal prince to justify it. More jumping on bandwagons.

Unexpected? Another pregnancy, rumours of separation and divorce, more sensational attacks on the royal family, if she can find someone to give her a platform, some new venture according to the whim of the day ...

If anyone wanted to know what the Harkles are like at Archie's school, here is an excerpt from the Mirror (=sycophants):

'In a new interview with Mirror, some parents of Archie's classmates have revealed what it's like attending and interacting with royals.

"Harry often drops Archie off and picks him up, and seems like a good dad. All the parents have been laidback in welcoming Harry and Meghan, without making a fuss. And to the other kids, Archie is just one of them," one parent told the publication. "They don't know his parents are royalty, and probably wouldn't care — unless Meghan was a Disney princess."

The parents reveals confirm what many have suspected, that Meghan and Harry are quite happy raising their children in the comfortable Californian lifestyle.'

Harry might be royalty, just about, but * is most definitely not. As Palace staff called her, just "Dino" - Duchess In Name Only 😉

Re: "They don't know his parents are royalty."

The wording of that suddenly strikes me as odd. Since "Archie" is the subject, shouldn't it read: "They don't know he is royalty"? For if he did exist, he'd be just as much a member of the British Royal Family as his father -- and even more of a member than his "mother."

And that "mother" gets an extra plug with the "Disney princess" line.

Yes, it's very clear who "some parents" actually are.

Happy New Year, Nutties!

Just found this and I'm so tickled by it, I had to send it along, particularly as the young lady at the center of it hails from my home state of Ohio. 1-year old Jalayne was dressed as the Queen for Halloween, replete with hat, coat, gloves, pearls, the requisite hairstyle and even a couple of corgis as wingmen. Her mother wrote to the Palace and enclosed a snap. She was shocked to, 5 weeks later, receive a personal message from the Queen's lady-in-waiting who had been asked to convey that the Queen thought Jalayne had a 'splendid outfit'.

In later years, Jalayne will be able to regale her friends with this story and personal keepsake. For a moment anyway, she made the Queen smile and think warmly of her and it's uncontestable that Harry's wife never achieved either. Wonder if Madam Montesh*tshow is now jealous of a 1-year-old. Why not? She's jealous of everything and everyone else.

I found that article in the Mirror rather strange. Why do these reporters not question the idiocy, whoever the source is?

Archie's peers won't know about royalty because they are too young. Only a weirdo idiot would think this is something to breathlessly report.

Of course the people at the school and the parents know who the awful duo are. She aint going to let anyone forget!

Archie is not a prince and his parents won't let him use the titles he can. She is not royal in any way, and he is a disgraced bolter traitor royal (the worst kind). They both behave like influencer trash. Worse still is that they are not popular and they only have a small following of very toxic people.

If Prince Charles thinks this will make him more popular with the British public, he's sadly mistaken!

Prince Charles praises Harry for his climate change campaigning in olive branch to his youngest son amid claims they have 'barely spoken for months' after Oprah interview.

Snipped:

Prince Charles offered an olive branch to Prince Harry last night, praising his son's 'passionate' work to highlight and tackle climate change.

The heir to the throne said he was 'proud' that both his sons had recognised the threat facing the planet, and commended their commitment to green causes.

His specific praise for Harry will be seen as an attempt to heal a rift, after sources said the pair had barely spoken for months.

Charles, 73, made his comments in an essay about climate change for US magazine Newsweek. He wrote: 'As a father, I am proud that my sons have recognised this threat. Most recently, my elder son, William, launched the prestigious Earthshot Prize to incentivise change and help repair our planet over the next ten years.'

On Harry, he added: 'My younger son, Harry, has passionately highlighted the impact of climate change, especially in relation to Africa, and committed his charity to being net zero.'

Sleuths at LSA say the Montecito Monstrosity has been on the market since 2 August.

Either they are doing exceptionally well financially, or they are putting out disinformation to hide the fact that they are running out of money, or they are heading for Splitsville.

Perhaps they always purchased the property to flip it and make a profit, but is it not too soon for that, have they made improvements, have they kept up with maintenance, is the market right for turning a huge profit on property in such a short time, if no one wanted to buy it before them, would anyone want to buy it now?
Sandie said…
In my country, once a listed property is sold, agents label it as 'offer pending' or 'sale pending' or 'sold', and it is then soon removed from the Internet. That does not appear to be the case in California at least, so it is difficult to work out if the property is on the open market and, if so, when it was listed. There are disagreements on social media about what and when, and even who, each person producing evidence to back up their conclusions!

So, please ignore my comment about when the property was listed for sale.

* I think that in the high stakes political game, information is designed to be leaked for some strategic reason known to the player source(s) at a specific time, leaks we don't really care about if or when they do get leaked and then a don't let this out.

The quoted paragraphs are from an article Charles wrote.

Note that William has achieved something global and huge (Earthshot Prize). Harry speaks passionately and has made a commitment to achieve zero carbon emissions for Archwell (realistically, not achievable, and the duo are notorious for all talk and no action, and Archwell is a failure so far in terms of their grandiose speech).

Despite everything, Charles loves both his sons. He expected to be forgiven for his awful marriage breakdown and divorce. It would be hypocritical of him to not forgive his son for a bad marriage. However, she could only return to England if she kept her head down, shut up and did not step out of line in any way. She is not going to do that.

I just wonder if the marriage is unravelling.

charles is weak. he could have said sons care about environment and then go on about william and not harry. offering public olive branches is not a strong monarch in waiting in my opinion. his son and his wife sh$t upon him and the family, publicly. he himself shunned talking to Harry and high tailed it out of Windsor after Philip’s funeral. if something or when something happens with “liz” charles will cave even if there is no divorce or separation. and 6s wife will skate by because softy charles will start the $ flowing or offer $ in the divorce.

The Sussexes actually spent more money - $55,600 - on attorneys wrapping up their UK nonprofit, Sussex Royal, that they launched in 2019

UK Companies House filings show the defunct British charity had over $380,000 in its accounts in 2020 but did not transfer its cash to its US sister organization

That long in-depth article by the DM is fascinating. Lors of opaqueness around their finances.

When they do donate, it is small amounts and it is all about PR.

The DM article says a large sum went to unnamed lawyers (on top of the hefty amount spent on lawyers to wind up their Sussex Royal/MWX whatever 'charity'). They have both been embroiled in suing people in the UK. Surely they did not use money donated for charity for this? What else could it have been?

I doubt that Charles would bring Harry back in the fold as a working royal in any way. Surely Andrew is a lesson that some people just cannot be trusted? If he hadn't mentioned Harry but did mention William in that article, he would have hurt an estranged son even more. If he hadn't mentioned either, he would be unsupportive of the son who will succeed him. He was writing as a father and as a Prince of Wales. Whether or not it is possible to wear both hats in his public role is debateable. Surely, surely he is not going to try to rehabilitate his rogue son and that awful wife of his in the UK?

Sandie said…
I think most of the money in Sussex Royal/MWX whatever was transferred to Travylst, which is not a registered charity. That money was then used to cover travel costs and to pay staff and any office expenses. I think he employed one person for Travylyst but she left in less than a year.

Those funds originally came from the Royal Foundation. Imagine what the Cambridges could have done with that money.

The £1 damages amount is the best news…😁..but the article goes onto say…

The newspaper’s publisher has also agreed to pay a confidential sum in damages for copyright infringement. The Mail on Sunday The also faces having to cover a substantial part of Meghan’s legal costs, which could be more than £1m.

The duchess had always said that her three-year legal battle against Associated Newspapers, the publisher of the Mail on Sunday and sister website MailOnline, was more about principles than money. Her spokesperson said the court victories demonstrated the strength of both claims and the financial remedies would be based on Meghan’s right to an account of the newspaper’s profits following her win. The spokesperson described the payment as substantial and said it would be donated to charity.

I’m hoping it’s a truly paltry amount….but who knows. ☹️😖😟
Miggy said…
@Raspberry,

Even though she'll get a large portion of her legal costs paid, (I'm sure DM can well afford them) and won the copyright part of the case... I'm sure she'll be spitting feathers right now about losing the privacy part and getting a measly £1.

(I'm really worried about those poor chickens now!)😲

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10370935/Mail-Sunday-pay-Meghan-Markle-just-1-damages-privacy.html
@Miggy

I’m absolutely sure she was banking on a huge payout, she’s all about money and little else. 🤨 The confidential amount for the copyright infringement and an amount of the newspaper profits….have me worried. It could be a substantial payment as Maggot’s spokesperson states. Though we know everything to do with Maggot and Mole is all hyperbole. 🥴 Plus she’ll never recover her truly muddied reputation.

I’m betting she doesn’t even own the chickens. 🤨I don’t think they ever owned the home in California either. They are sofa surfers. 😛

I’m looking out for Lady C’s latest take on the above. 😁

£1 in damages for the privacy violation!

DM should have known better in terms of copyright - they could have achieved their aims without reproducing so much of the letter. However, I don't think she will get a huge payout, and it is possble that the judges rule her legal costs are unreasonable (as with his lawsuit) and whatever payout she gets will simply cover the shortfall. DM, on the other hand, got some damaging stuff exposed about our dear duchess - evidence they would never have got hold of without the lawsuit.

She will put it in her CV as a major victory against the media for justice ... blah, blah blah.

My opinion:

If damages are substantial for breach of copyright ..

DM/ANL won't want the amount disclosed as it would encourage more lawsuits. The opposite if the amount is small (but 'small' for the duchess is a fortune to many people).

TBW wants headlines about a major payout, but she wants secrecy about how much of that she actually donates (and even to who). Overall, secrecy serves her better because speculation will fuel more headlines and articles about her, but also, and more importantly, she can create whatever 'truth' suits her in the moment - she is in control.

Damages had not been decided when ANL appealed. The apology for breech of copyright that she demanded had, but not the amount of damages. In the original case, the issue about if she could claim sole copyright (and thus not have to share any amount awarded by the court) was also not decided. The hearing to resolve that was then put in abeyance when ANL appealed. I am not sure how that aspect of the case was resolved, but I have not read the full judgment of the appeal.

The protection of data aspect of the case was also not decided in the original trial but she dropped that claim and focused on copyright and privacy in the appeal.

Donating financially and doing volunteer work is a normal part of life in my country and I suspect elsewhere in the world as well.

Big donations should be transparent for accountability and to keep an eye who is exerting influence over what. But, there are very many people who are genuine philanthrophists and they never make headlines.

The Sussexes never fail to publicise every bit of volunteering (photo op) and donation, even in their Christmas card, which is very tacky (the snobbish toffs in the UK must be sniggering about her). That couple have a huge case of arrested development along with their toxic personality traits. She can be understood as a more toxic product of growing up in LA but she is not capable of acquiring any depth or decency. In the original judgment from Warby regarding cost, she did claim nominal damages for the privacy aspect, and did want a portion of profits for the copyright aspect.

Because she was a working royal at the time, she cannot claim damages on the basis of loss of earnings/income. That ANL should pay her the profits it made in publishing her copyright material makes sense. How they are going to establish what the profits were for that specific article is a conundrum!

I disagree with her decision to not seek damages for the privacy aspect. It is the only way to deter the tabloids from the practice. Make it unprofitable, or even a bankruptcy threat. However, celebrities (especially those without talent but the line is not always clearly drawn) don't want to kill the golden goose because they need the coverage to be relevant!
Sandie said…
There is another way to calculate costs, that is standard practice in the publishing industry: pay the permissions fee that they would have paid if they had sought and been granted permission by her. In the publishing industry, this remedy is standard practice, without resorting to a court case, and there is a publishing body that deals with cases like this.

Snipped:

Hooper told The Daily Beast: “Accepting the £1 will likely have avoided a tremendous argument about the extent of the damage she suffered. She just wanted to establish a principle and get her legal costs paid, although she may well still be a half a million pounds out of pocket as a result of this process.

“They would say it was about the principle of the thing, but if they hoped that because of this the Mail will not write about them any more, they are in cloud cuckoo land.

“They’ve inflicted a financial loss on the Mail, but it is a company with deep pockets. Obviously the Mail would have preferred to win, but Meghan did nothing for her reputation by her memory lapse over some of the evidence.”

POUNDLAND MEGAIN – DUCHESS OF SUSSEX GOES BANANAS

In spite of her victory over ‘The Mail on Sunday’ all the Duchess of Sussex will be able to do with her winnings is afford a trip to Poundland; £1 ‘MeGain’ better now also watch out for metaphorical banana skins.

This morning, The Guardian’s redoubtable media editor Jim Waterson ran a story titled: “Meghan to receive just £1 from Mail on Sunday for privacy invasion.”

In the article, Waterson revealed that the “newspaper [and its sister website MailOnline] accepts defeat” and “will pay the Duchess of Sussex just £1 in damages for invading her privacy by publishing a private letter she had sent to her father.”

Analysing this Pyrrhic victory for what it truly is – most especially given the catastrophic reputational damage the former Meghan Markle has done not only to her birth family, the family she has married into and to the institution that is the royal family – en-route to her “success,” media lawyer Mark Stephens told Waterson of the “weakness” in her case. He remarked: “It does show that the curation of her reputation was an area where she had effectively invaded her own privacy.”

Whilst The Mail on Sunday will also have to cover a “substantial part” of the Duchess of Sussex’s costs and pay also a “confidential sum in damages for copyright infringement,” the £1 given to ‘Mendacious MeGain’ – a woman forced to apologise to the Appeal Court for “making misleading statements” during the case – will pay for only one thing; a little something at Poundland.

Equally, whilst the Duchess of Sussex might view this to be a victory over Britain’s biggest newspaper and a victory in her meddling mind for what she sees as “right over wrong,” she has actually made a catastrophic error. Forevermore, the press will be after her and they’ll never cease in their desire for revenge. The dominant half of ‘Ginge and Cringe’ needs now watch out for the metaphorical banana skins she’ll find constantly in front of her; they’ll be ready and waiting for her to slip on.

more curious who paid all the lawyer fees. have a feeling if they weren’t covered the montecito crew is in deep doo doo

wonder why she settle for so little. maybe ANL was set to reveal a lot more and she blinked. maybe her lawyers wanted £££ and wouldn’t continue unless they had cash up front. i know there was some settlement on copyright but can’t imagine it was millions.

It is probably confidential because DM is privately owned and thus has a right to keep details of its business model and specific earnings confidential. When I worked in the corporate world, confidentiality re. financial matters in the company were part of the employment contract. She is NOT "getting paid on what they made running ANY story about the letter"!
The suit included ONLY five specific DM and MOL/MOS articles on the letter which were listed in the court docs.
There is NO WAY it would be in the millions. Only her sugars think that!
It was a letter to her "Daddy", not a song or a book!
NeutralObserver said…
@Unknown, perhaps you have been paying even less attention to the *s than I have, because it is highly unlikely that * will pocket
'millions,' the first reason being that in the UK 'damages' rarely go over five or six figures. Whatever ANL pays for her costs goes directly to the lawyers. Justice Warby, the judge who granted the summary judgement, complained about *s exorbitant costs, & limited ANL's exposure to a percentage of what she was claiming. It is even possible that percentage was reduced, particularly after *s memory lapse.

The copyright aspect was part of the recent appeal. She was trying to claim compensation for a percentage of what ANL made on stories about the letter, but the math on that would be fairly problematic, & you can bet that ANL will know how to limit their exposure on damages. A Daily Beast (sugars) article has the following quote from retired libel lawyer, David Hooper: ". . . she may well still be a half a million pounds out of pocket as a result of this process."

It is doubtful that * is getting a substantial payout, & in any case isn't she donating anything she gets from ANL to charity? LOL. Terms of the settlement seem to have shifted a bit, as the little blurb MOS & the Daily Mail printed acknowledging *s victory was hardly an apology, nor was it in the large font & prominent position * was demanding. All * did was prove that she is a liar, & show that in the UK, elites get privileged treatment from the judiciary. The BRF did not want this case to continue. The judges were disgusted that they had to consider this petty spat, but did the usual & protected the powerful.
Chiming in. Her lawyers costs are separate from her awarded damages.
Her award depends on any one’s definition of “substantial”

I read they have to pay 90% of her legal bills
March 2, 2021

“Mill had also told the court that Meghan was willing to “cap her damages” for misuse of private information “at a nominal award” if the court would order “an account of profits” – evidence of how much the publisher gained financially from its publication of the letter – in relation to the infringement of the duchess’s copyright.“

Antony White QC, representing ANL, suggested in written submissions that “£1, £2 or £5 would do” as an award of nominal damages for misuse of private information.

Lord Justice Warby said: “I accept that the claimant may elect to seek an account of profits in the copyright claim.”

The judge said that any “financial remedies” which would be granted to Meghan would be considered at a further hearing in late April or early May, which will also deal with Meghan’s claim under the Data Protection Act.

He also ordered ANL to make an “interim payment on account” of Meghan’s legal costs in the sum of £450,000 within two weeks.

The court heard that the duchess’ total legal bill is around £1.5m, a figure ANL described as “extraordinary”.

In the ruling last month, the judge – who is now Lord Justice Warby, following his recent promotion to the Court of Appeal – ruled that the publication of Meghan’s letter to her father was “manifestly excessive and hence unlawful”.

He said: “It was, in short, a personal and private letter.

The majority of what was published was about the claimant’s own behaviour, her feelings of anguish about her father’s behaviour, as she saw it, and the resulting rift between them.

“These are inherently private and personal matters.”

He said “the only tenable justification for any such interference was to correct some inaccuracies about the letter”, contained in an article in People magazine, published just days before ANL’s five articles, which featured an interview with five friends of Meghan.

But the judge added: “The inescapable conclusion is that, save to the very limited extent I have identified, the disclosures made were not a necessary or proportionate means of serving that purpose.

“For the most part, they did not serve that purpose at all.

“Taken as a whole the disclosures were manifestly excessive and hence unlawful.”

In the case of the MoS settlement with Harry’s wife, the one thing you can’t put a price on is the self-inflicted damage to Harry’s wife’s credibility and confirmation of her overall lack of character. The release of emails and other communications and notes submitted to the court by Jason Knauf regarding the Sussexes participation in providing information to the authors of the hagiography Finding Freedom caught the Sussexes in a series of lies after strongly denying they cooperated with any facet of the development and formulation of the narrative of the book. Meghan’s excuse claiming she was forgetful, was flimsy and transparent deception to the public.

Most people who have followed the slimy Sussex saga for any amount of time already know that Meghan is less than truthful and now it is confirmed that Harry follows her in her attempts to deceive.

Anyone in their right mind, especially executives of companies or other organizations who might be tempted to associate with Meghan and her minion husband, should be aware that connection with a pair of toxic second-rate royals could be incredibly detrimental to them and their company or organization.

If these execs choose to swim with sharks, they shouldn’t complain if they get bit.

Short and sweet...

EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Meghan 'came to Britain thinking she would be a star but we already have one... she's called the Queen', says A Woman Of Substance writer, in royal slap down to Duchess.

A Woman Of Substance author Barbara Taylor Bradford, who was handed an OBE by the Queen, claims the Duchess of Sussex tried — and failed — to outshine Her Majesty.

'Meghan came to the UK imagining she'd be the star of the red carpet, even though she wasn't much more than a starlet in America,' she says of the U.S. former actress.

'What she didn't realise is that we already have a shining star on the red carpet, someone who's been there for 70 years. She's called the Queen.'

Leeds-born Taylor Bradford, who has lived in New York for decades, adds: 'The Queen is magnificent, and William and Kate grow in stature day by day. She's divine — and how does she stay so slim?'
Funny... When I was awarded costs on one part of my divorce case back in the day, I didn't receive them automatically. My solicitor informed me I had to apply to the Court (presumably to get them to take action against my then husband for the cash.

My solicitor advised me doing that'd cost me far more than the costs were worth so I had to let it go.

So much spin, as always with TBW!

Has this cost ANL a lot of money? Yes. Her legal fees before the appeal were an astronomical £1.5 million. But, ANL has won the challenge to how judges apply privacy law and how this limits the media in holding the wealthy to account. (They did not win the challenge to copyright of letters.)

Has this cost her? Yes, she has to pay 10% of her legal fees plus the full costs of the failed attempt to block FF being introduced as evidence (her fees plus DM's fees). Her reputational damage is huge. She is openly being mocked by corporate America and has been dubbed the Dollar Store Duchess, and she has the threat of being charged with perjury hanging over her head (like Amber Heard).

Is she going to get millions for the copyright issue? Nope. And it is going to cost a lot more to sort out just how much profit (not income - profit) ANL made from those 5 articles. (Remember the 10% of her legal costs that she has to pay.) My reaction to this part of the judgment from Warby is what the heck was he smoking.

For me, this court case has revealed that she is both stupid and reckless with other peoples' money, and childlike in seeking self-gratification at all costs.

ANL has been ordered to make another payment to Meghan’s lawyers:

“The sums awarded in these cases are usually dwarfed by legal fees, which can easily balloon into the hundreds of thousands. Meghan is set to receive £300,000 ($406,000) in legal fees by Friday, according to a court order, an installment for what could be a much larger figure. In England, the default is for the loser’s side to pay a substantial portion of the winner’s legal fees, which in this case is estimated to be over $2 million.“

That makes $856k paid so far to her lawsuit fees.

“Mark Stephens, a media lawyer at the London-based Howard Kennedy firm, said that during trials, expert evidence can be sought over how much the infringing material helped boost sales, although this case did not go to trial.
But he said that a number would still be generated “forensically” or simply “dealt with by sticking a thumb in the air” and landing on a figure to which both parties agree. He guessed it would be north of $100,000.
“It looks as if they weighed up their options, and then decided that an account of profits in the copyright is going to give her more money than the invasion of privacy,” Stephens said.”

The reason the MOS didn’t pursue an appeal over copyright is because they won the privacy case, the acceptance of the £1 sum is on the understanding that Maggot lost her privacy case.

I don’t have time to go into detail, but if you want to listen to Lady C’s video, Miggy has posted the link. ☺️

Now there is chatter in social media, presenting the Harkles as being used by Oprah (shades of Diana and the Panorama interview).

We have the receipts. We know what they said in response to the criticsm for the timing of the interview. And we remember what they said in the interview and how many lies they told. They really think they can 'wipe the slate clean' and present themselves as victims yet again? Is this a new PR offensive?

With all due respect, Lady C makes no sense at all.

She sued ANL on three or four charges.

After a lot of hearings and a postponement, she asked for a Summary Judgment on three of the charges: copyright, privacy, data protection.

She won on copyright and privacy (albeit there would be a hearing to decide if she is sole copyright holder or has to share any payout with staff who assisted her in writing the letter). The judgment on the data protection aspect was postponed.

ANL went back to the courts seeking the right to appeal that summary judgment.

At this stage I assume she dropped the data protection angle.

ANL did not succeed and thus Warby's Summary Judgment still stands. In that judgment, Warby says that her lawyers had indicated that she was only seeking a nominal amount for the privacy aspect but wanted the profits for the copyright aspect. I think £1 was the lowest that the court could give her as a nominal amount. But perhaps her lawyers agreed to accept that if ANL did not pursue an appeal on that aspect.

She will now always be known as the One Dollar Duchess, among other names that are doing the rounds (and as a perjurer). The media in America and corporate America on social media have been mocking her. So, yes, she lost a lot, but she did not lose the court case.

https://www.btimesonline.com/articles/152961/20220101/prince-harry-meghan-markle-aim-become-entertainment-moguls-couples-plans.htm

2022 is likely going to be Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's year. This comes as sources asserted that the Sussex Royals will "finally prove their worth" outside the monarchy this year. US WEEKLY learned that the couple will drop various projects in the next few months. As reported, these include "some podcasts" for Spotify and two docuseries for Netflix.

The insiders did not share any details about the Spotify materials. But, it is alleged that the documentaries for the streaming giant will be about athletes who compete in the Invictus Games and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's humanitarian work.

Alongside these projects, the same sources said Prince Harry will publish his memoir in late 2022. It is reportedly the "most anticipated release" because of the content of the book.

As claimed, it will be a "controversial" material, housing a "lot of bombshells about royal life and mistreatment."

The informants continued that Meghan Markle is, also, working on her own book, which details her experience with the British Royal Family. However, it is "still in planning phases" as she is allegedly "waiting to gauge the reaction to Harry's memoir first."

A royal expert recently asserted, though, that Prince Harry will "unlikely" utilize his memoir to "trash" members of the British Royal Family. He could even make a "big royal comeback" next year, according to Metro UK.

…reports said that the manuscript was due in August. But, the deadline had been pushed back to October due to the ongoing dramas surrounding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.”

@Sandie, I heard a rumour that the 6s were trying to start a covid vaccine factory in Senegal and that's why they went to the UN in the autumn. To try to drum up some support. Also, why they are so insistent on companies dropping their intellectual property rights regarding the vaccine.

I suppose she thought that she could benefit from the pandemic in some way. Why not? she's used every other form of human misery to her benefit. The bananas for the sex workers to get her some PR, the death of her estranged uncle for sympathy, the death of Bishop Tutu for recognition, the misery of the poor raped girl in South Africa for her image, and so on, etw

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10377217/Bullying-claims-used-casually-allegations-Meghan-Markle-mistreated-palace-staff.html

The lawyer is defending her client in rather sleazy ways. I have numerous problems with what she said:

By focusing on a definition of the word bullying, she does not engage with the behaviour. (It does not matter what you call it. If it caused distress and loss of jobs, it was a problem.)

Nowhere does she refer to the Dignity At Work policy that the monarchy has. That would have set a standard of treatment that staff expected but did not get. (In addition, those who had worked with the Cambridges and the prince before TBW would have experienced that policy in action.)

Of course TBW was charming and sweet to her in the few times they met. Typical manipulative behaviour and a very different context from being staff. This defence is so stupid. (Because I never saw a person murder anyone or even be nasty to anyone does not mean he is not a murderer.)

The story about her daughter is so demeaning to the staff who were mistreated. The most appalling thing I have ever heard a lawyer say in defence of a sleazy client.

The staff were picked because they are experienced and willing to accept lower pay and difficult hours to serve royalty. None of them are stupid or pampered entitled princesses. If they say they were subjected to unacceptable behaviour and were traumatised, they need to ve listened to very carefully because they are credible witnesses, and they are many. (TBW, on the other hand, is a perjurer.)

Reportedly the Queen spoke to TBW once and the hapless prince once about their treatment of staff, as did William and a senior, experienced member of staff. But now TBW and her lawyer want to deny what happend? We see the red flags that were going up all over the place, starting before the wedding.

If it looks like ..., smells like ...., that is exactly what it is!

Good day, Nutties, from bitterly cold Ohio. Hope everyone is keeping well.

I'm going to start off with a plug for the Body Language Guy, Jesus Enrique Rosas, who seems to have made the study of Maggoty and Mole his sole focus recently. He even employs the term 'Harkles', which is so delicious. He's started doing more live streams, which are archived for watching later.

Here he is, ruminating over the Harkles' announced move away from their 'Forever Home' after just 18 months.
------------------
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bH-2Dfz7Qhc

He's even funnier in his newest gig, 'Shorts'.
In this one he deconstructs alleged Farkle bestie (and fellow WOC) Janina Gavankar's answer to the direct question, "Have you met Baby Lili?' It doesn't even take a body language expert to recognize immediately that JG is LYING THROUGH HER VENEERS. If there is even a baby, Janina's never seen her. Just like she's never seen Archie either, despite being the "photographer" of record for the Harkle's Christmas 2019 card with Asian Frankenbaby Arch.

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/noVk80W_gdw

-------------------------

I do hope that Jesus is watching his back and has access to good legal advice should he need it because I can see him landing square in the sights of Harry's Horror, the Doyenne of Montesh*tshow. She's got a history of going after Internet personalities that are on to her. In the meantime, Jesus goes from strength to strength and isn't even pretending to have any clinical detachment where Farkle is concerned. He's openly mocking her now and we know she just can't cope with that at all. I really wish the universal derision would make her head explode like an overripe melon one of these days and save the entire world and her Majesty so much trouble.

Hikari said…
JennS asked:

I'm wondering whether the Harkles actually owned the place or were they living there as renters/caretakers until the owner could get a better price. The previous owner paid nearly $26m for the property.
Where will they go next?

When it was first announced that they were moving into this mansion that was way beyond even Harry's means without a huge cash infusion from the Royal purse, with such a dodgy provenance besides, that was our first thought, wasn't it? They were renting the house for a pittance or even staying there for free until the house sold to actual buyers, ostensibly attracted by the Royal connection ("Own the house where Prince Harry of England did blow nightly!") A similar tactic was in play during their stay in another dodgy Russian oligarch-owned mansion beyond their means on Vancouver Island. Collectively, the Harkles have never owned any property themselves, ever. All of their accommodation both singly and together have been owned by or rented from, other people. Even though even a modest chunk of Harry's inheritance would be sufficient to purchase a very nice family home, even in California, the Harkles are not interested in a genuine family home. For that they would need a genuine family first of all, and much less grandiose tastes. They want to be seen as competing on a level with William's Anmer Hall and even surpassing that.

They are both delusional. But I feel vindicated in my belief these last nearly 2 years that their alleged mansion home was nothing more than an elaborate blind. I think she did up the sitting room in her favored bland birds' nest aesthetic for the shooting of her various vanity projects on the Internet, but based on the video tour of the rest of the home, nothing in it is reflective of her taste. They didn't change much, which they wouldn't have done if they never actually lived there, or only used a few of the 16 bathrooms knowing that they'd be moving on very soon. Mugs said on the Tig that she is perfectly happy living in hotels. Sure she is . . lots of staff to wait on her hand and foot for every whim, no responsibilities of ownership, and she can check out and roll on as soon as she gets tired of the scene, which happens every few months with her. All of this is contingent on someone else footing her bills of course.

Nor did I ever believe that Charles had bought Mudslide Manor as a gift to the couple and her eventual divorce package send-off. Too many problems with that particular property. An apartment in New York perhaps, but not a crumbling Russian mobster's house on an earthquake fault. Not even Charles is that stupid.

Duchess Dollar has never set down roots, and owned a home, and she never will. She has no concept of being grounded, because that's what home ownership does to a person. It grounds them. Dollar Duke is just following orders. He may feel he's got a place back home where he can land if things go south, all that inherited land and cottages.

The Dollars are onto their next rental.

The way Farkle stares absolute bloody daggers for daring to speak…Without permission and apparently interrupting Herself in the midst of her bloviating greatness…Chilling isn’t the word. Just think if this is how she looks at her mother in public, when Doria was expressly imported for the occasion to show off Farkle’s blackness credentials, Imagine the horror she brings out behind closed doors, to even “lesser” people like staff. Or Harry. Or vulnerable babies. Samantha Markle has said and print for anyone to see that her sister should never be left alone with children. There would be no reason for her to say that unless Farkle had demonstrated history with hurting children, no doubt out of jealousy. She is a bad bad seed, and it’s written all over her face when the mask slips, as it does so very often.

Doria has a lot to answer for, and I don’t attempt to minimize Her contributions in creating this, either through nature or nurture. Both she and Thomas made grave errors in raising their kid. But I think we are all agreed that Farkle Goes far and beyond the regular garden-variety kind of narcissist that many of us are acquainted with. We all know self-absorbed people who like to commandeer conversation and who aren’t good At seeing things from other people’s points of view. These traits are distressingly common in our society. This type of person might be thoughtless or immature, but what ails Farkle is on a completely different level. It’s sociopathic. The only thing that prevents me from labeling her a psychopath is that she seems to exhibit a high degree of anxiety and self-consciousness. With a psychopath, you wouldn’t see all the twitching and flapping and rapid blinking she does. But with the level of rage she seems to evidence as pretty much a baseline, I have no difficulty envisioning her as capable of violent acts. That is a feature of psychopathy. What ever Doria’s culpability in criminal behavior, Watching her daughter glare at her like a demon creates some sympathy for her. So much opaqueness surrounds her absence of several years during her daughter’s formative years. She may have been in prison for part of that time, but if it was for a financial crime, the sentence was probably brief—Two years or less. What if Doria ran away Because she was terrified of her own child and felt unable to care for her?

If you haven’t seen the movie “We Need to Talk about Kevin”…In which an insecure mother struggles to bond with her child, Who seems to hate her despite all of her efforts—Because he is a psychopath—You should watch it in light of the Harkle situation. Do I think * would shoot up a school for fun? No—But I do think her absolutely capable of hurting people close to her, weather there family or not. We have seen it in action. That look is the proof.

PS to add

In the last few days, it seems we have been infiltrated by a Farkle Fanatic, who crowed in this space about the Poundland Duchess’s massive fiscal settlement against the Mail, And posed the question—If Farkle isn’t as fantastic as she’s been claiming these last five years, why are we all still obsessed with her on this board?

What we are “obsessed” with is how the societal conditions—Both in the larger woke culture, And within the microcosm society of the royal family, its own special little verified World that it is—Along with the sycophantic media have all conspired to create a person like Farkle—someone with myriad mental & personality disorders which she is not intelligent enough to hide—into a global celebrity with the seeming power tie the hands of the world’s most powerful monarchy. Elizabeth Regina was only a child When her uncle David was captivated bye another grifting American hustler with a dodgy résumé but inexplicable hold over her mark. Maybe that’s why ER allowed her grandson To repeat her uncle’s Fatal Attraction to the detriment of the Royal family. It’s like Groundhog Day all over again. We watch this ongoing train wreck and sick fascination, not because Farkle is herself a fascinating creature—We can’t believe it’s happening again in living memory that’s all. Farkle even manages to make Wallis seem like the epitome of class and deportment. Since Wallis was a good time girl who spied for Hitler, That’s quite a dubious Achievement on Farkle’s part.

In my unprofessional opinion, Harry’s wife should be detained in a residential facility four the safety of others. She’s giving us ample evidence since her engagement that she is not screwed on tight and in fact is a stewpot of psychiatric disorders. But there are enough people who believes she is deserving of canonization as some secular saint/style icon that it confounds rational minds who can see that the Duchess has no clothes. It is one of the greatest mysteries of our time, and I’ve always sunk my teeth into a good mystery. That’s why Harry’s wife takes up more space in my head then she ought. I just want to understand what’s going on here, but I admit that I do not. Thankfully vloggers like Jesus and Taz Share my addiction to mysteries, and this one in particular.

Plausible. And with a narc's skill at triangulation, * could have twisted that experience to make Thomas feel he had to give her everything she asked for, to make up for the loss of her mother's love.

This is true. There are times when I wonder whether it's not one big nightmare that I'm going to wake up from at any time. It's that bizarre.

So I can only imagine the disorientation that Harry's actual family members must have felt, especially after Megxit. Had they known it would get this bad, they would have moved Heaven and earth to go back in time and block * at every opportunity. They'd still have to deal with with the Ginger Man-Child, who might still find a different way to implode. But *'s malignancy has gone beyond every imaginable boundary. And I daresay that self-destruction without a narc's influence is preferable to self-destruction with it.

Based on the reactions to all present at the Corpse Bride wedding, it appeared that everyone was aware there was a big mistake in progress—Not least of all the bridegroom. Certainly his best man, his cousins and his grandmother even showed by their lack of poker face their feelings about what was going on down front. They must’ve hoped for the best though, despite all the drama that the Harkles had already put the family through, That Farkle would settle into harness and be at least a modest asset to the Firm, For as long as she lasted. And if they divorced after a few years, that wouldn’t be so bad seeing as Harry was not the heir. Seems like all and sundry, Including William and all of Harry’s former friends, new that Farkle was just in it for cash and jewels and the novelty of a title And wouldn’t stay the course, but it has to be so much worse than they ever could’ve imagined. What Harry has turned into with her collusion defies belief.

I vividly remember years ago when the rumor was floating around that The Bad Seed* would agree to call off her wedding to Just Call Me Harry for the then-shocking sum of $100 million, or maybe it was £100 million. Either way, at the time the figure seemed ludicrous and outrageous. It no longer seems fantastical.

I bet the Royal Family wishes, when looking back on the unremittingly destructive years of marriage between * & H that they had accepted her offer and just paid her off to go off into the sunset clutching her undeserved booty.

$/£ 100 million, in hindsight, would’ve been a bargain to erase her from the RF’s lives before her annihilatory royal and post-royal actions.

Having said that, I do not believe that H is an unwilling, unwitting participant in this whole affair. I am confident he fully supports The Bad Seed’s efforts to bring down the monarchy. He cannot be rehabilitated because he doesn’t want to be rehabilitated. He is in it to win it with her.

I don’t believe H will ever divorce *. She, however, will eventually divorce him after she has squeezed every possible penny from him and the RF, post-death of Queen Elizabeth, and probably will hang on until Charles’s demise. She expects a mega-payday from both of their wills. When William becomes king she knows she needs to skeedaddle quickly, since no more money will be forthcoming. She will also suspect that all of her own secrets will be revealed when William is crowned king, so she will need to disentangle herself from H then and only then.

Finally, some posters believe that Prince Charles has cut * and H loose from his purse strings. I don’t believe that for one minute. The Bad Seed knows secrets about the whole RF (I have some well-founded suspicions about what some of the secrets are) and sending a secret flow of money will, Prince C hopes, keep * and H’s mouths shut for a few more years, until none of it any longer matters. — end —

*thank you, Hikari, for “bad seed” as descriptor of Ms Harkle. It is perfect, applicable, and the movie The Bad Seed is one of my all-time favorites.

@Hikari, great minds think alike. I was typing industriously and after I posted, realized you had touched on many of the same thoughts.

Where we differ is that I believe Harry was always nefarious and utterly soulless. He didn’t blossom into this awful person only through collusion and marriage with *: his awfulness was always bubbling beneath the surface and he was ecstatic to find a soulmate (or should I say a soulless-mate) with whom to foment widespread description of his family.

The RF had previously kept a lid on all this anger and desire for destruction through the firm handling of him by his personal staff.

Now that H doesn’t have that firm hand guiding him, since he has the freedom of making his own decisions, he and wife are like the old spin art kits when gone out of control. Their poisonous paint is splashing everywhere and destroying anything in which it comes in contact.

OCGal,

I loved my spin art kit when I was a kid and spent hours with it. I have no artistic ability to speak of, but that I could do.

Since Harry’s wedding, we have learned a lot more about his true character, and none of it flattering. I am with you and believing that he has always been jealous of his older brother, for as long as he’s been old enough to know what Williams future would be. My favorite pictures of the two boys as children are the day at Kensington Palace at the piano, when William was about three and hairy just a toddler of maybe 14 months. Apart from the fact that they lived in a royalpalace, They seemed like normal little boys then, and baby Harry was a little cherub. In truth when the boys were very small, I preferred Harry. William quite often looked like a sullen brat, and his preschool nickname Basher Did not exactly denote a sweet and Considerate child whom everyone wanted to play with. But William grew out of that, and Harry has grown into what he’s grown into. I should clarify that I don’t Credit Markle with forming his entire noxious personality, but until he met her, despite his grievances, he was finding some value in Royal life., He allowed himself to be managed, and was finding at least limited fulfillment and some of his roles. He seemed quite happy to work alongside his brother and Kate as a single man, but once he crossed paths with the avaricious starlet, she set about nurturing all the darkest elements of his personality and together with her own poisonous agenda, Harry’s darkness has blossomed into and overgrown toxic garden. How much of what he is going to have ghost written in his memoir is verifiable truth versus Overheated paranoid half truths or “recovered” fabricated memories encouraged by his wife? It is after all in her best interest that they both be portrayed as the worst, most hard done by victims Of Harry’s horrible family. H Has been making noises for years about heading real life, heading England, wanting to run away and play bush guide in Africa Instead of the boring things Granny expected him to be doing. But he had reached the age of 33 years without making any sort of move to do so, and then he met her. He was neither bright enough nor enterprising enough to break away on his own, and throwing in with her gave him permission to be his own very worst self, only this time publicly. Any goodness which ones may have resided in him has been corrupted by communing too long with his most evil desires for revenge and his greed. He’s like Smeagol, Who found the One Ring—That ring is not Madame, but the hedonistic freedom from his birth rate of duty which she represented. Now, with this long association with her, he has turned into Gollum—A creature so consumed with his own lust for The thing he wants that he is utterly beyond redemption. There is always a turning point from which one does not come back, and I think H passed it With his conduct during the Duke of Edinburgh’s final illness. I don’t just mean in the Oprah interview— but the months and weeks leading up to that when he might have repented of his actions and apologized to his grandfather for treating the royal Marines and her majesty so shamefully. But H Was too arrogant, and he lost that moment forever. Now he is consigned to his fate. Sméagol killed his best friend for the Ring, But even after that, he still could have repented and resisted the Ring. Even if he had to go to prison for life murder, his soul would have been free. But he didn’t want to do that, choosing instead to cling to his corrosive treasure.

Hairy it seems there’s always a weak jealous Unstable person, but perhaps he was not irredeemable and still capable of doing some good before Farkle got her claws into him. His actions now are daggers in the hearts of his father, his brother and his grandmother, but he won’t stop. And by this point, I don’t think he can stop. He is the weaker personality, and he has been consumed by a far stronger evil. Do use another literary comparison from the fantasy genre, if Farkle is Voldemort, Harry is Quirrel the weak host that does her bidding. Voldemort head literally inside Q’s head And made his host the puppet. Farkle Still hides behind his real name because she knows she has nothing on her own. But the puppet was already and always susceptible to being invaded; He just thought he could manage the situation and soon lost all will and autonomy. H knows what he does is wrong, But this thing is bigger than him now.

@Hikari,

Remember that youtuber who claimed she was an editor at Star Magazine? she said that Harry fell in love with * because she appealed to his shadow self. The self that everyone else rejects.

Somewhere on the net there were some photos of the Royal Family standing at attention at a public event. Evidently Prince Phillip passed gas loudly. Ginge, mid to late twenties, was bent over laughing uncontrollably. The others gave slight smiles. I'm not one who thinks farting is the least bit funny. But Ginge's reaction, at his age, reminded me of second-grade boys, age 8, who think farts are funny. The extreme reaction of Ginge also caused me to think that he was/is dx as EBD--emotionally behaviorally disturbed. Though the modern term is Emotionally Behaviorally Disordered. I'm going to say that Ginge is EBD, and self medicates with weed, cigarettes, and alcohol. Duchess Dollar snagged herself a Prince of the Kingdom, yet she's got her hands full with someone she must absolutely detest by now.

That was Shallon Lester. I discovered her thanks to that very video!

The Harkles may be napalm to the BRF and toxic even to themselves, but to enterprising YouTubers, they are a goldmine of content!

A Quiet Interlude

Not much appears to be going on. Living Legends came and went without fanfare ... what's the next event?   Super Bowl - Sunday February 11th?  Oscar's - March 10th?   In the mean time, some things are still rolling along in various starts and stops like Samantha's law suit. Or tax season is about to begin in the US.  The IRS just never goes away.  Nor do bills (utility, cable, mortgage, food, cars, security, landscape people, cleaning people, koi person and so on).  There's always another one.  Elsewhere others just continue to glide forward without a real hint of being disrupted by some news out of California.   That would be the new King and Queen or the Prince/Princess of Wales.   Yes there are health risks which seemed to come out of nowhere.  But.  The difference is that these people are calmly living their lives with minimal drama.

As Time Passes and We Get Older

I started thinking about how time passes when reading some of the articles about the birthday.  It was interesting to think about it from the different points of view.  Besides, it kind of fits as a follow up the last post (the whole saga of can the two brothers reunite). So there is the requisite article about how he will be getting all kinds of money willed to him from his great-grandmother.  There were stories about Princess Anne as trustee (and not allowing earliest access to it all).  Whether or not any or all of this is true (there was money for him and/or other kids) has been debated with claims she actually died owing money with the Queen paying the debts to avoid scandal.  Don't know but I seem to remember that royal estates are shrouded from the public so we may not (ever) know. However, strange things like assisting in a book after repeated denials have popped up in legal papers so nothing is ever really predicable.   We are also seein...

The Opening Act of New Adventures in Retail

I keep thinking things will settle down to the lazy days of spring where the weather is gorgeous and there is a certain sense of peacefulness.  New flowers are coming out. increasing daylight so people can be outside/play and thinking gardening thoughts.  And life is quiet.  Calm. And then something happens like a comet shooting across the sky.  (Out of nowhere it arrives and then leaves almost as quickly.)   An update to a law suit.  Video of the website is released (but doesn't actually promote any specific product which can be purchased from the website).  A delay and then jam is given out (but to whom and possible more importantly - who did not make the list?).  Trophies almost fall (oops).  Information slips out like when the official date of beginning USA residency.  (now, isn't that interesting?) With them, it's always something in play or simmering just below the surface.  The diversity of the endeavors is really ...
