A Quiet Interlude

Not much appears to be going on.

Living Legends came and went without fanfare ... what's the next event?

Super Bowl - Sunday February 11th?  Oscar's - March 10th?

In the mean time, some things are still rolling along in various starts and stops like Samantha's law suit. Or tax season is about to begin in the US.  The IRS just never goes away.  Nor do bills (utility, cable, mortgage, food, cars, security, landscape people, cleaning people, koi person and so on).  There's always another one.

Elsewhere others just continue to glide forward without a real hint of being disrupted by some news out of California.   That would be the new King and Queen or the Prince/Princess of Wales.

Yes there are health risks which seemed to come out of nowhere.  But.  The difference is that these people are calmly living their lives with minimal drama.

I don't completely understand how the title/surname works. The boys were absolutely known as William Wales and Harry Wales at school. George, Charlotte and Louis were Cambridge at school, too. Bea and Eug used York. I remember clearly seeing a B Y monogram on one of Bea's bags years ago. I know the actually surname is Mountbatten Windsor, but there is precedent in what the grifters are doing with Merchie and Lilibucks. The titles need to be strippe, so the matter can be laid to rest.

@Ian's Girl

Those aren't official names, just names used as placeholder names for convenience.

When representing the Crown, their official names are Windsor

When not working royals, their official family name is Mountbatten-Windsor. This was the compromise that Prince Philip worked out with the royal household.

I thought the Late Queen had a decree that any great- grandchildren born would have the surname Mountbatten-Windsor in honor of Prince Philip going into the future, so Archie and Lili would be the first two. Should William's two of three children not stay in royal service, they would also be able to use the hyphened name.
I know from working in public education that kids/ people can call themselves anything they want. But these are little kids, and the confusion that is their identity going forward is unfair.

IMO the Grifters should each have a last name of Sussex, Dumbarton, (Dumb for short), or Kilkeel, with the Keel pronounced with a high tone going upwards. Haz Dumb, Megain Sukkits, and the two little KilKEELS.

That new coat of arms or crest or whatever it's called is laughingly ridiculous. The screaming, scrawny white pigeon must be Madame herself. Haha! And there's a RIP in the bottom corner. A fitting clown show for the Clown herself. Who comes up with that sh*t? I have tears from laughing so hard!

'“Actress” has been told through the grapevine that TOW and her poodle may have a former employee ready to spill the beans on the fights, the kids, the horrible treatment of staff and the all-around horrible working conditions inside the Sussex Mental Asylum. Oh, and TOW and poodle don’t sleep in the same bed. They rarely reside at their Montecito house… if they do at all.'
This is unconfirmed anyway.

Domestic staff working for different households talk to each other (i.e. gossip). They probably use the same public transport and have a good old gossip while travelling, but they could also live in the same (poor) neighbourhood.

@Ian's Girl
I do wish the King would issue letters patent to clear up the issue of surnames. You are correct that children in the royal family have used the surnames York, Cambridge, Wales. This is customary, but their surname is actually Mountbatten-Windsor. Customs in the UK are not legally binding nor customary in other countries. Legally, on their birth certificate, their surname us Mountbatten-Windsor. In the UK, titles, and especially royal titles, muddy the waters as everyone wants to be identified with and thus have the status of the title.

The King should step into the modern era, think in a global context, and issue letters patent to clear this up.

It is pathological ... her compulsion to be the centre of attention. Notice how her feet are positioned. She swivelled her body sideways, without moving her feet, to move in for that hug, while hapless was shaking the man's hand. Note how he drops his head ... in submission to her or in resignation that this is the rest of his life?

An analysis from one of the comments:

"The hug-block combo is a real skill of hers. She pushes Harold back to remind him of his place while using the hug to dominate the space of whoever they're greeting at the same time. Half the time the person is in no way prepared to be grabbed round the middle because they are in a situation where handshakes are the norm. She does to throw people off balance while also trying to push a "nice" facade (I'm a HUGGER!! etc.) and it irks me so much."

Supposedly there were boos and people singing "God Save the King". She smiled maniacally through it all!

I notice that with her it is all about being photographed and being the centre of attention and dominating media coverage (success in that one). With Catherine, and William, it is about interacting with the crowds and chatting to as many people as possible. Surely if you want the IG to have a positive reception and good press, you would want to 'win over' the people? You want locals to support and take an interest and be enthusiastic and actually turn up to watch and follow the games?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle make millions — but don’t like to spend their own cash, multiple sources tell Page Six

Their latest free gift, Page Six has learned, was a private jet flying them to Vancouver, Canada for a three-day trip to promote the launch of the 2025 Invictus Games for wounded service personnel.

The couple landed in Vancouver Tuesday on a 10-seat Bombardier Challenger 605 chartered by a local private aviation company. Page Six is told they were “guests” on the flight.

One source who has worked with the duo told Page Six: “They certainly don’t like to spend their own money,” and another well-placed insider added: “It’s always other people’s money.”

Regarding the articles about the IG promo -

lots of comments about where are the kids?

Very valid question. Where are they while one or both parents are doing something and being photographed doing it.

If and when we see the kids, it is often a covered shot (distant, not really in super focus, not a facial frontal, very short time slot and seems to raise more questions than answered as to when/how this "POL" just happened to taken).

Remember when she and her assistant went to a fast food place? Why not take the kids? Do they not eat? (hey, wait a minute: were there car seats in the car?)

Or the blink or you will miss it trip to the Caribbean? Why not take the kids along?

Granted they "reportedly" did go to Costa Rica for 6 days right before Christmas (odd photos of L but not really anything of A). Which, btw, there is talk that the kids are not listed on the flight manifests (not the first time this has been claimed).

And now, here, with the IG promotions. Since IG participants are often have families, why not have the kids tag along? A whole family moment supporting families.

If * can become part of the IG framework (not a vet, not there from the beginning and so on lack of reasons other than his wife), why not work in the kids? You know, teaching their kids that not everyone has 2 legs but it doesn't keep them from participating in life.

Still not coming up with reasons to believe the kids exist as their kids.

Well,

Not so long ago it was "Just call me Harry!" and now it is "Don't you DARE! You call me SIR, you hear!! And you call Her Royal Highness The Duchess MA'AM!! You plebs!!"

"And when we arrive you play GOD SAVE THE KING because we are ROYAL!!!"

Poor Harry, when he had all the respect in the world as a member of the Royal Family he had only contempt for it. And now when he has lost it so totally he is beginning to understand that the respect was not because of his radiant, ingenious person but because of his family. That same family he has been shitting over for the last four years and he is nothing, absolutely NOTHING without it.

Well, better late than never.

I do believe he wants to come back. He had it all without any difficulties and not much work and no cost he must pay himself and all the RESPECT.

The only thing he must try to explain to his wife is that in future she must bend her knees in front of the Princess of Wales. Which is, you must admit, hilarious!

Just a random thought. I think that the Todges should be able to use any surname the want, & whatever tacky coat of arms they want. Heaven knows the USA is full of odd made up surnames. I have a friend whose surname arose from a mistake a clerk at Ellis Island made when his ancestors first entered the country, & people order coats of arms from all sorts of bogus sources. Americans aren't really that impressed by titles, (contrary to what the dim royal 'experts' say) but the Todges desperately need some sort of branding that distinguishes them from all of the other hucksters out there, and they need to earn money so that they don't have to hit up the RF, the UK taxpayers, or US taxpayers (heaven forfend!).

In exchange for this tolerance of their pretensions, they & their offspring must be removed from the LOS and they must be stripped of all of their titles & HRHs. They would be known as simply Mr. and Mrs. Sussex, and Master Archie Sussex and Miss Lilibet Sussex. This seems like a good solution to the quandary they have put the RF in. There's something in it for everyone.

Jesus Enrique Rosas estimated the Dumbartons’ tab for their round trip private jet flight and ground transport and luxury hotel accommodation at $55,000.

This amount would provide,:
Prosthetic limbs for approx. 11 wounded veterans ($5000 and up)
1100 hours of physical therapy at $50/hr
Travel, food and lodging for up to 50 wounded warriors to attend the Games/some expenses for family guests.

This is the cost of the Twats’ 3-day display of narcissistic egomania and photo ops as a pretend Prince and Princess.

What humanitarian veteran advocates they are!!!

Here is the problem with the use of names, from the Royal website:

---------
At a meeting of the Privy Council on 17 July 1917, George V declared that 'all descendants in the male line of Queen Victoria, who are subjects of these realms, other than female descendants who marry or who have married, shall bear the name of Windsor'.

The Royal Family name of Windsor was confirmed by The Queen after her accession in 1952. However, in 1960, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh decided that they would like their own direct descendants to be distinguished from the rest of the Royal Family (without changing the name of the Royal House), as Windsor is the surname used by all the male and unmarried female descendants of George V.

It was therefore declared in the Privy Council that The Queen's descendants, other than those with the style of Royal Highness and the title of Prince/Princess, or female descendants who marry, would carry the name of Mountbatten-Windsor.

This reflected Prince Philip's surname. In 1947, when Prince Philip of Greece became naturalised, he assumed the name of Philip Mountbatten as a Lieutenant in the Royal Navy.

The effect of the declaration was that all The Queen's children, on occasions when they needed a surname, would have the surname Mountbatten-Windsor.

For the most part, members of the Royal Family who are entitled to the style and dignity of HRH Prince or Princess do not need a surname, but if at any time any of them do need a surname (such as upon marriage), that surname is Mountbatten-Windsor.
---------

Charles can easily solve the problem by issuing new Letters Patent. I suggested that outside of the UK and Commonwealth realms, the surname Mountbatten-Windsor should be used, not titles, except for royals who officially represent the Monarch and government (and the Monarch and spouse).

Or it may be simpler ... in America, the Dumbartons do need to use a surname. That surname is NOT Sussex; it is Mountbatten-Windsor.
Lady Colin Campbell has bought two domain names: officialsussex.com and thedukeandduchessofsussex.co.uk 😆
George V did not take into account the possibility that a female descendant would ascend the throne. Prince Philip was reportedly unhappy that, as he put it, he must be the only man in the country whose children did not bear his surname. The double-barrelling was a solution to this.

It's a general rule that though that we in the UK can call ourselves anything we like, as long as it's not for criminal purposes. Whether the Harkles' change meets that criterion is, I suppose, debatable.

Prince Harry will discuss his father King Charles III's cancer diagnosis publicly for the first time in a TV interview with Good Morning America host Will Reeve today.

The Duke of Sussex will open up about 'his life with Meghan' and 'how his father is doing', as well as the Invictus Games 'wounded warriors' he supports, according to a 15-second teaser clip released overnight ahead of the interview airing later today.

A film crew led by Will Reeve, the son of the late Superman actor Christopher Reeve, has been following Harry and his wife Meghan Markle since they arrived in Canada on Tuesday for a countdown event to the Invictus Games in Whistler and Vancouver.

In a tweet posted at 1.49am UK time (9pm Eastern Time last night), the GMA account wrote: 'Exclusive: The all-new interview with Prince Harry on his life with Meghan, how his father King Charles is doing and his passion supporting wounded warriors.'

This was accompanied by a clip showing Harry speaking to Mr Reeve in Whistler and a photo of the King waving as he left The London Clinic on January 29. The interview will air today at some point between 12pm and 2pm UK time (7am and 9am Eastern).

A voiceover said: 'Tomorrow morning, a GMA exclusive, Prince Harry, the all-new interview on his life today with Meghan, how his father the King is doing and on his passion - supporting wounded warriors. Tomorrow on Good Morning America.'

The trip comes as they unveiled a rebrand on Monday with a glossy new Sussex.com website, which saw critics claim they were trying to cash in on royal connections. But last night, the Sussexes defiantly hit back by insisting: 'We will not be broken'.

The trip to Canada comes just over a week after Harry returned from a flying visit to London, where he met with his father for 45 minutes following his cancer diagnosis.

He was seen two days later at an NFL awards ceremony in Las Vegas but was absent from the Super Bowl last Sunday, before he and Meghan relaunched their website.

Speaking in Whistler, Canada, Harry replied: 'Absolutely. Yeah, I'm sure. Throughout all these families I see it on a day-to-day basis, again, the strength of the family unit coming together. I think any illness, any sickness brings families together.'

Wow, there are no depths to which these grifting leeches will not sink. So Harry is going to pontificate about his father’s private v medical concerns after spending a whole 12 minutes in the same room with him after 18 months. I wish the American media wouldn’t pander to these two delusional and vindictive arseholes but money talks And notoriety sells better than virtue. For The majority of Americans who aren’t as intimately acquainted with this tawdry saga as we are, Harry is still Diana’s little boy.

This makes me sick but obviously this is all a part of their engineered campaign of revenge. Dad did not agree to be extorted for more money or take the Kween’s calls so this “branding relaunch” and media blitz is retaliation. Ostensibly he’s promoting Invictus but we know what the real agenda is. Neither of the toxic pair give the remotest F about wounded veterans except when they get free swag and publicity out of it. It’s too foul for words.

@Maneki: No, Mr. Loser spoke very kindly about his father. He didn't reveal anything. Spoke about the importance of family, and loving his family. So out of character. Obviously WME got him the gig on GMA, and wrote his speech, and made him practice it over and over again. It must be part of repairing certain someones' images. And they told Mrs. Loser to butt out in no uncertain terms.
Fifi LaRue said…
So that's what that was about. WME sent Mr. Loser to visit his father, not that he cared, it was solely for the optics; and, a follow-up on US national television. Mr. Loser is a snake and a viper still.
Harry loves his family? Well, they say that love comes in many forms. His must be a very peculiar form. Almost like sadistic hate.

He gets his fix with the wounded veterans, but does not give a damn how THEY feel him parading his wife in front of them in the most important role of the veteran games. And showing off her clothes paid by the IG that their wives never have money to buy. But it is good that he admits that the men and women in the games exist just for his feelings, that's all.

He does not know how he feels (not American) and his life in California is as it is. Wow, last year he was living his best life with the love of his life and all was sunshine.

He didn't say he loves his children. At least that is honest. But how they keep him grounded every day when he is NEVER with them?

Lady C is hinting that his time in the front of the games may be shorter than he thinks. Well, that remains to be seen.

In the South Park program one year ago the prince of Canada opened his wive's throath and shouted hello to an echoing nothingness. This year his wife can return the compliment with similar results.

He is empty, hollow, vacuous and drained man.
By the way, he did not mention his wife (the love of his life) in the interview, did he ?

Archewell, the philanthropic foundation of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, has a simple mission: “Show Up, Do Good.”

The jury is still out about the second part of that statement.
But we now understand just how the environmental crusaders do show up — in private jets paid for by other wealthy, influential people. And when they arrive, there always seems to be sprawling homes, owned by the rich and famous, where they can rest their heads.

Their latest free jaunt came Tuesday, on a 10-seat Bombardier Challenger 605 to Vancouver, chartered by a local private aviation company, according to a Page Six report where multiple sources spoke of the couple’s alligator arms.

“They certainly don’t like to spend their own money,” one insider said. Added another: “It’s always other people’s money.”

Theirs is a solid strategy for amassing personal wealth — and ensuring they always have a ride to the next glitzy concert, movie premiere or charity dinner to pick up yet another empty award.

Life is, indeed, a gift.

No longer working royals, Harry and Meghan are now simply full-fledged celebrities, who, in the immortal and frequently uttered words of Kamala Harris, are “unburdened by what has been.”

The couple is no longer bound by the House of Windsor’s stringent rules around freebies and presents. Last updated in 2002, those guidelines state that “no gifts, including hospitality or services, should be accepted which would, or might appear to, place the member of the royal family under any obligation to the donor.”

The Sussexes now are free to take whatever adheres to their sticky white gloves — gratis stays in luxury homes, free private flights, beautiful jewels. The world is their oyster. But that oyster is riddled by hypocrisy.

Just this week, they unveiled their regal rebrand on the new Sussex.com: “The Office of Prince Harry & Meghan The Duke and Duchess of Sussex,” it reads, beneath the coat of arms of the United Kingdom.

That’s a shameless move, considering the duo ditched the monarchy in 2020 and agreed to not use their titles online to tout any new endeavors. But hey, the queen is gone and King Charles, sadly, has more pressing matters — like his health.

Harry and Meghan want to live high on the hog, off the fumes of their royal titles and be the toast of Tinseltown. But they want none of the duty and service to the crown.

Their web site itself is an exhausting obstacle course of fluffy, meaningless new age jargon and unbridled self-praise. For instance, Prince Harry’s page notes his memoir, “Spare,” is “told with compassion, vulnerability, and unflinching honesty” if he does say so himself.

Markle’s bio is an incredible feat — the online equivalent of erecting a towering bronze statue in Montecito. So packed with personal humanitarian accomplishments it would make Mother Teresa blush.

“She has been named one of the most influential women in the world,” crows the 11-paragraph novella. It then leaves no passport stamp, accolade or resumé bullet point unmentioned, from Meghan’s college semester abroad in Madrid to her inane lifestyle blog “the Tig.”

We now know she didn’t win her sixth-grade spelling bee — otherwise, it would have been listed.

The few omissions? Self-awareness, humility and a sense of humor.

Among the more bizarre lines is one calling her a “major advocate” for “family care” — a phrase that effectively means nothing, but is eyebrow-raising considering her own careless disregard for family.

Remember, she managed to invite George Clooney and Oprah to her wedding yet, in terms of relatives, only her mother made the list. Nary a cousin, aunt, uncle, let alone her estranged father. Not to mention Harry’s shattered relationship with his father and brother.

All that money the Sussexes don’t want to spend, they “earned” by publicly trashing his family.

it’s strange that Meghan and Harry want to cling to kin they’ve only shown contempt. Folks they’ve painted as uncaring racists who rejected her desperate pleas for help and sent her running from the UK. Cruel, terrible humans so irredeemable, they needed to be exposed on a special with Oprah.

And yet … association with the royals provides the ultimate cache.

Harry and Meghan want it both ways. Here’s a more fitting motto for their new site: All grift, no duty.

-------
Meanwhile, 'the Royal Family will fear that at a later point he could 'start to go into details about the diagnosis or the treatment.'' Let's hope not.
Harry's hair is pathetic, disgusting. That is not his fault, but what he said with a distasteful smile about William's looks has made Harry's looks fair game.

William is very handsome, masculine, strong man. His jawline is firm and he is very fit. He studied in a University, Sandhurst and became a helicopter pilot. He flew an ambulance helicopter saving lives. He married a woman he loves and has 3 beautiful children who seem to get warm and understanding upbringing at their homes. He has accepted his destiny and is doing his best to fulfill his fate.

Harry has lost his looks and is flabby. He has beard to hide his fat double chin and he does not live healthy life. He did not excel in school and got in Sandhurst because his family helped him. He cannot fly a helicopter but constantly lie and boast about it. He married a woman because she was "hot" in bed and lied to him. He has or has not two children who may be are not his wife's and he has lied about them all the time as they have no worth in the world outside his and his wife's sick games. He is accusing the whole world of all this, constantly because nothing is ever his fault.

It is no wonder he hates William and is ready to do all he can to destroy him and his family. It is very strange that King Charles does not see this horrifying behaviour and stop it.

I can't help but wonder what Will Reeve, the young man who interviewed Todge on ABC, thought about Todge's whiney treatment of his family. Will lost his own father, Superman actor, Christopher Reeve, when he was 12, and then lost his mother, Dana Reeve, when he was 14. Dana Reeve died of lung cancer, although she had never smoked. Young Reeve also had lived through his father's paralysis from a riding accident. Was Todge even aware of his interviewer's history as an orphan at 14? Did he even care? Was ABC trolling Todger by assigning that particular reporter with that family history to Todge? One nice thing about the interview was that TW was very much a bit player. The viewer barely saw her.

Really? I've posted one article below. There are others in the Times and a couple in the Telegraph. Mansey also has an article saying William must forgive Todge. What do you Nutties think?

Former Daily Mail journo Kate Mansey has several stories in the London Times about a possible Todger return.

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/prince-harry-return-royal-role-king-charles-cancer-dn8tcm8nd

The Duke of Sussex is willing to return to a temporary royal role in support of his father during his illness, sources have revealed. In an attempt to help heal the rift in the family, the King and Prince Harry are said to have had several “warm exchanges” since Charles received his cancer diagnosis.

The duke is now understood to have told friends that he would step into a royal role while his father is unwell.

Harry, who is the fifth in line to the throne, remains a counsellor of state, although as a non-working royal he is not expected to be called upon to stand in for the King. Yet to heal the rift, Harry is now said to be focused on reconciling himself with his family.

He had a 30-minute meeting with the King at Clarence House last week, having flown in from California after his father’s diagnosis.

In an interview to mark the countdown to the Invictus Games, Harry said: “I love my family. The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see him and spend any time with him — I’m grateful for that.”

Similarly, Charles, 75, is believed to want to see more of his son and a source said there was a growing sense that a rapprochement would “benefit the institution”. A royal insider said: “On all practical levels it makes perfect sense for the family to come together to support the King while he’s sick. Much has been said on both sides in recent years, but that has never diminished the fundamental bond of blood, and there are now pragmatic aspects to consider, with the King and Kate’s wellbeing paramount in this.

“The details of the Clarence House meeting and subsequent conversations are private, but the feeling is that this arrangement could work.”

Harry, visiting a training camp in Whistler, Canada, for his Invictus Games competition for wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women, was asked whether illness could have a reunifying effect on a family. He replied: “Yeah, I’m sure. Through all these families [at the Games] I see it on a day-to-day basis, the strength of the family unit coming together.”

He said that he had considered seeking American citizenship but added that it was not a high priority.

The King has postponed his public-facing work as he undergoes his cancer treatment. He will, however, continue his constitutional duties by attending to his daily red boxes and aims to maintain his weekly audiences with the prime minister.

The Princess of Wales is away from work until Easter as she recovers from abdominal surgery. The Prince of Wales, after a period at home to oversee her care, has returned to duties and will attend the Bafta film awards on Sunday.

Harry is now keen to be reconciled with his father despite giving a series of damaging interviews and detailing an excoriating view of his family in his autobiography, Spare.

The meeting last week with his father at Clarence House, at which the Queen was also present, did not provide time for a detailed discussion but it is understood that Harry wants to make an offer to make a limited return to royal duties.

A written plan would have to be drawn up and actioned by the King and his closest aides before Harry, 39, and Meghan, 42, could embark on any official duties on behalf of the monarch. Harry would not receive public funds.

Times article cont'd:

The Sussexes stepped down from their official royal roles four years ago. At the time they were told that the model they had proposed, in which they would support the monarch in a limited capacity without drawing on the sovereign grant, had been rejected. In what became known as the Sandringham agreement, the late Queen allowed them to keep their titles but they relinquished their official roles. They officially retained their HRH status but agreed not to actively use the titles.

Some within Buckingham Palace are not quite so amenable to the idea of a return, saying it would be “unlikely” and the late Queen had made clear that the Sussexes could not be “half in, half out”.

Regardless of whether any official role is granted, there appears to be hope in both the Palace and Montecito, the Sussexes’ Californian home, that a peacemaking operation could be successful in the coming months and years.

Buckingham Palace declined to comment.

They are probably desperate to be back in the royal fold again. I think she would even turn up in the UK for appearances, but she would use up their entire allocation of the SG on a private plane, hotel suite, clothing, security and transport in the UK (that would not come out if that budget). They certainly wasn't photographs of the children with the King before he dies.

Here is a very interesting article on their 'failure', which seems to be well sourced:

-----
Of all the many startling elements of the Sussex relaunch this week — from the use of Meghan’s coat of arms to its timing as the King battles cancer — perhaps the most surprising has yet to be remarked on.

It is this: at no point on any part of their new website, Sussex.com, is there a single mention of the word ‘Netflix’.

This includes the section devoted to Archewell Productions, where you will find the following resumé: ‘Founded in 2020 by Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, our company is dedicated to illuminating thought-provoking and diverse narratives that underscore our common humanity and celebrate community — through scripted and non-scripted TV, film, documentaries and podcasting.’
And that’s it.

To jog memories, their estimated $100 million (£80 million) deal with the streaming giant was their first (big) step into the world of commerce after ‘Megxit’, and when it was signed in September 2020 all involved said how delighted they were with the ‘multi-year’ deal.

‘Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope,’ the couple — whose son Archie was born in May 2019 — said in a statement. ‘As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us.’
They added that Netflix’s ‘unprecedented reach will help us share impactful content that unlocks action’.

Netflix boss Ted Sarandos (who is actually one of their near-neighbours in a $35 million (£28 million) home in Montecito, California) said: ‘We’re incredibly proud they have chosen Netflix as their creative home and are excited about telling stories with them that can help build resilience and increase understanding for audiences everywhere.’

He had seen off competition from Disney, NBCUniversal and Apple to sign up the couple, who had only arrived in California six months previously, just as the pandemic hit.

But for all the fine words about the intention to make a social impact, Harry later remarked in his television interview with Oprah Winfrey that he had been forced to make the Netflix deal because of pressing financial need.
As he put it: ‘My family literally cut me off financially.’ He added: ‘I’ve got what my mum left me, and without that we would not have been able to do this.’ (‘This’ being the move to a mansion in Montecito).

So what is going on with the media deal which is meant to be funding their new life?
Perhaps surprisingly, the spectre of (relative) penury and wrangles over money loom rather large over the couple and their relationship with Netflix — and cast a fascinating light on the question of what they are going to do next.
I’m told, by well-placed sources with knowledge of the deal, that the association has been disappointing all round, with Harry and Meghan drawing a relatively meagre amount from the streamer — thought to amount to as little as $20 million (£16 million) for them personally, all in.

Considering the delivery of a blockbuster tell-all six-part documentary Harry & Meghan in December 2022, which was seen by 81 million households in its first three weeks, the couple could judge that $20 million isn’t much at all. Maybe we should look no further when seeking to explain the perplexing omission on the website.
What’s more, the expectation in Hollywood is that both parties will break the deal as soon as it is contractually viable, which will mean a ‘divorce’ in September this year or next.

Will the Sussexes have by then produced their romcom film based on the Carley Fortune book Meet Me At The Lake?

And will they have produced any of the documentary projects, including a Prince Harry in Africa series which has also been long in the planning? Other proposals they are trying to get off the ground include a feminist retelling of the origins of Charles Dickens’ Miss Havisham in the form of a TV drama.

Yet while the writers’ and actors’ strikes took out much of last year, it is notable how little the couple have actually made work for Netflix.

The head of content, Bela Bajaria, tried to put a brave face on the inactivity at an event last week. She said the couple had a number of projects in ‘very early development’ and were being helped by Netflix’s head of unscripted content, Brandon Riegg.

‘They actually have, like a bunch in development,’ she said. ‘They have a movie in development, and a series that they are working on. So all early development, with a movie, a TV series and a couple of unscripted shows that they are working on with Brandon Riegg. But yeah, the movie is great.’

Some might argue that’s faint praise.

Meanwhile, Meghan told reporters at a Variety event earlier this year: ‘We have so many exciting things on the slate. I can’t wait until we can announce them.’

However, a source with knowledge of the situation says that essentially the Netflix deal is a dead duck.

‘The whole arrangement was basically the trade-off for Netflix getting the Harry & Meghan documentary. It was never the huge payday that the Press reported. The $100 million number was always a newspaper figure.

It’s thought they got a small fraction of that number up front, and everything from there on is largely contingent on performance. The fact is that the company [Archewell] has been relatively inactive so far.’

Rather than a massive lump sum, the deal consisted of a multi-year commitment from Netflix to cover the overheads of Archewell. This is said to be in the region of $3 million (£2.4 million) a year, of which the Sussexes will keep a small portion personally.

Most of that money is being spent on overheads and project development costs. Indeed, when Archewell bought the rights to make a film of Meet Me At The Lake it was reported that, quite unusually, Netflix had stumped up the $1 million (£800,000) cash rather than Archewell, reflecting the fact that the company is not swimming in funds.

By far the most lucrative element was the production fee for the Harry & Meghan documentary of around $20 million (£16 million), $15 million (£12 million) of which will have gone directly to the couple, the rest being spent on making the series.

The changing cast of characters at Archewell has not helped relations with Netflix. The source adds: ‘There’s been a lot of turbulence at executive level within Archewell, and I know for a fact that Netflix are annoyed to be advancing several millions dollars a year of overhead to a company that can’t seem to retain more than a handful of staff at a time and that has almost no day-to-day visibility around town.

‘That wasn’t what Netflix were pitched and the shaky executive base is a big part of the reason why Archewell hasn’t got much done.’

The company lost head of content Ben Browning in January 2023 after his contract expired and this January production manager Bennett Levine also walked, two years after joining. Rebecca Sananes, the head of audio, left after the Archetypes podcasts had been produced.

Bad luck has come into play, too. Netflix has pulled back on its film and TV expenditure massively over the past 12 months after it became clear that previous spending levels were not sustainable.

Hollywood is generally a much more financially sober environment, too. In addition to the actors’ and writers’ strikes and the pandemic, ‘peak TV’ is over, with fewer shows being made and at a lower price point.

The source says: ‘There is an across-the-board acknowledgement that Netflix will want to get out of, or scale down further, the deal at the earliest contractual opportunity.

‘You might say that Netflix haven’t done too badly out of the relationship, as they’ve probably only gone out of pocket to the tune of around $30 million [£24 million] or thereabouts, and they did at least get a huge hit doc out of the investment.

‘As for Harry and Meghan, it’s understood that they will have managed to keep around $15 million [£12million] just for themselves, which is not bad business. But that kind of money doesn’t last long with their lifestyle.’

The lifestyle is indeed idyllic by any standards and included the purchase of their Montecito mansion in 2020 for $14.7 million (£11.7 million), with a mortgage of $9.5 million (£7.5 million). The potential mortgage payments on such a borrowing may run to $50,000 (£39,600) a month.

Then there is their security detail, generally thought to cost somewhere north of $2 million (£1.6million) a year, plus taxes of $68,000 (£54,000) a year, staff costs of $300,000 (£238,000) a year and utilities costing up to $24,000 (£19,000) a year.

Harry’s legacy from Princess Diana is generally said to be around £7 million all in, plus a further amount from a legacy left by the Queen Mother. That won’t go far in California, so you can see how money could become a pressing concern.

Among the biggest money-spinners of all has actually been Harry’s memoir Spare. Released in January last year, it has sold around four million copies. If we are to assume a relatively modest cut for Harry of 15 per cent, that would have netted him $15 million (£12 million), give or take. He has given an unknown portion of the profits to charity.

Meanwhile, it’s unclear how much money the Sussexes made from the podcaster Spotify, for which Archewell managed to make just one 12-episode podcast, Archetypes, in three years. Their deal was cancelled in 2023.

It was said to be worth $20 million (£16 million) but again will have most likely only netted them a fraction of that amount, given the lack of content created. The Wall Street Journal reported with restraint that they ‘failed to reach the productivity benchmark’.

It was said to be worth $20 million (£16 million) but again will have most likely only netted them a fraction of that amount, given the lack of content created. The Wall Street Journal reported with restraint that they ‘failed to reach the productivity benchmark’.

Spotify executive Bill Simmons famously put it more bluntly: ‘I wish I had been involved in the “Meghan and Harry leave Spotify” negotiation. The F***ing Grifters. That’s the podcast we should have launched with them.

‘I have got to get drunk one night and tell the story of the Zoom I had with Harry to try and help him with a podcast idea. It’s one of my best stories . . . F*** them. The grifters.’

Archetypes does have a new home. It was announced this week that Meghan is to venture again into podcasting for Lemonada, a small but successful female-run outfit which makes podcasts with actresses Sara Sugarman and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

But looking beyond the end of the Netflix deal, a world in which Meghan has a podcast does not look like a world in which the couple maintain a house with 16 bathrooms. Logic would suggest that they brave the backlash and write more books, as the story of their fall-out with the Royal Family remains compelling. Even a cookbook, which I heard was Meghan’s preference, would be a great potential source of income.

Last summer, it was announced that Meghan had signed with Ari Emanuel, the powerhouse agent at WME. However, although she then turned up at some events with prominent WME clients, such as at Kevin Costner’s charity party, there have been no blue-chip commercial deals for her.

She was also said to be about to revive her website, The Tig, and sign an endorsement deal with the fashion house Dior. Neither has yet happened. Some believe that WME are letting her go, again because of the problem of how to turn her megawatt profile into some kind of tangible product.

They are said to have played ‘no part’ in the Sussex.com rebrand, which does not augur well. Inquiries about her status there go unanswered.

There was the surprise appearance of the couple at the Jamaica world premiere of the Bob Marley biopic One Love earlier this year, prompting suggestions of a deal with makers Paramount, especially as they travelled there by private jet with the company’s boss Brian Robbins.

But that would be a most unlikely destination for them.

At present, Paramount is being sold, so a new head is almost an inevitability, and you would expect that whoever comes in will want to make their own mark.

Interestingly, that private jet ride may be another indication that money is an issue.

They travelled with oil billionaire Michael Herd on his ‘PJ’ to see Katy Perry in Vegas in November and their outing from Santa Barbara to Vancouver for the Invictus events was also by private jet and at someone else’s expense, according to Page Six in the U.S.

‘It’s always other people’s money,’ a source told the publication. But how to keep it coming?

The Mansey article I posted earlier sounds as though it was written by Mizz Todge. Her description of the 'Sandringham Agreement' sounds as though it comes straight from their old Megxit manifesto, among other tell tale Todger expressions.

Have to laugh at "Harry would not receive public funds," This means they want Papa and William to pay them out of Duchy of Lancaster or Duchy of Cornwall funds. Hence, Wills 'must forgive' the Todges. Well, you can't blame them for trying. Will KCIII cave in to their demands?

When I was younger, I experienced becoming a victim of my emotions and replaying increasingly toxic behaviour that ended up just damaging me. Luckily, no children involved, but annoying, at least, for friends and family. That Diana could 'switch it off' for the frequent public appearances indicates to me that it was not a mental or personality disorder but rather repeated toxic behaviour patterns. Near the end of the marriage, her misery did seep past her facade in public.

The wife, on the other hand, has much less control of her behaviour in public (the tightened jaw, the glare, the shoving husband and others out of her way, the inappropriate hugging and timing of such hugs, the grabbing of any microphone in her vicinity, the pity party interview wile on an official tour ...) and started her toxic treatment of staff well before marriage (plus the sobbing episodes, and no doubt haranguing of hapless). I think that is down to her personality ... who she is and always has been.

I suspect that the wife read a book or two about Diana. I doubt that hapless remembers his mother's behaviour, but all the wife had to do was read this book and she would know what behaviour would trigger unconscious memories of his mother, and make him easier to manipulate and control.

https://celticcrossanon.tumblr.com/post/742576319474368512/brf-reading-17th-of-february-2024
It seems to be clear that Harry is going to go to his grave (maybe after 40 years) never understanding that his family is never taking him back and his world will never become as it was and as he wishes. And sorrowfully that is the fault of his upbringing. A very clear NO is one of the most important words in the child-rearing and Harry did not hear it often enough. The Royal Family is paying the price now. And it does not help that he is a seriously stupid man.

There is not going to be a political body in Britain accepting that any information is ever given to this dumb prince and whatever King Charles personally thinks and feels that is not going to change.

So it goes.
"Much has been said on both sides in recent years"

Well "much" is correct, "been said" is correct and "in recent years" is also correct.

But the sayings have been bloody one-sided all the time. The ONLY saying from the Royal Family has become a classic in the English speaking world: "Recollections May Vary".
It’s not just the Mansey article pushing the story of Harry’s magnanimous offer to serve the King once again. It is everywhere. Today there is a Maureen Callahan article:

If Harry really DOES want to head back to the Royals, how the hell could they ever trust him again - and what about Meghan? MAUREEN CALLAHAN on a bombshell claim about the Lost Prince of Montecito

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13093937/Prince-Harry-Meghan-royal-return-home-MAUREEN-CALLAHAN.html

Even if these stories originate from California (which is likely), I worry that the King’s illness may weaken his resolve vis-a-vis his disloyal and treacherous #2 son. I think back to my mother’s battle with terminal cancer and how she was taken advantage of by certain unscrupulous individuals. If Charles was inclined to make amends with Harry and welcome him back into the royal fold to a degree, it seems to me that William would have a hard time denying his wish.

The Sun on Sunday can reveal Harry, 39, planned for a long heart-to-heart with his dad.

He had even hoped to join the King — recuperating from cancer treatment — for a few days at Sandringham.

But instead he was instructed to visit Clarence House, his dad’s London home, for a short managed face-to-face meeting — and then told to get himself a hotel for the night.

But after landing at Heathrow on February 6 he was told not to set off for Norfolk, where the King, 75, was planning to spend time with Queen Camilla, 76.

As Charles delayed his departure for Sandringham, Harry was directed to go to Clarence House.

He spent 45 minutes inside, but only around half an hour with his father.

An insider revealed: “Harry came over to see his father, expecting to go to Sandringham. But instead he was asked to be at Clarence House and was restricted to 30 minutes.

“The fear was that if he went to Sandringham they would never get rid of him.”

Prince William has told pals there is no chance Harry will be allowed back into the royal fold.

The Prince of Wales is so angered by his brother’s continued attack on the monarchy that he will block any of his bids to return to The Firm. Sources close to William say that in the wake of King Charles’s cancer diagnosis, he would be the one to take on more duties himself if needed while it is understood he believes Harry and his wife Meghan “cannot be trusted”.

.....

William and the King have had one-to-one meetings at the Royals’ Sandringham estate in Norfolk, where the monarch is recuperating after weekly cancer treatment in London. A source close said there is “no chance” the heir would allow his brother back. “Whatever has been discussed between William and the King is private, but it is absolutely and categorically clear that he (William) would not allow Harry to return. He thought it was a bad idea at the time and he’s even more clear now.

“If anyone is going to take on more duties it will be William and that isn’t even on the agenda for now. His main focus is on his father’s health, his family and what is best for the monarchy. There is a zero per cent chance Harry is coming back in any capacity.”

.....

Charles, 75, believes building bridges with Harry and Meghan would benefit the monarchy, but is understood to think any official role for the Duke would be a backwards step.

.....

A source close to Harry confirmed: “Harry is ready and willing to help and genuinely believes it would work well for both parties. In his view, it wouldn’t be dissimilar from what was proposed back in 2020, with a hybrid model of working.

“With the King’s illness there is perhaps more of a reason for those options to be considered.”

BS on the First Nations thing. They know full well that H doesn't represent the Crown. They're not stupid.

Although I'm sure that H implied that he had some authority there. Yah, let's negotiate this and I'll clear it with my dad later. No worries.

Exactly why H should not have either the Duke or Prince title. No ethics or integrity. He can't be trusted for a nanosecond.

To add more grievous insult to the injury Hapwad had already meted out to his family, the Unflushable Dookie’s drive-by ambush of his father occurred on Feb. 6, the Accession Day of her late Majesty. She spent that day every year in sober reflection and memories of her beloved papa. Charles was only 31/2 when he lost his grandfather and his life changed irrevocably. That is the day that he not only lost a grandfather, but to all intents and purposes also lost the better part of both of his parents to the demands of the Crown and suddenly rocketed to first in line for the throne at an age where his peers were fingerprinting in nursery school. I can’t speak for Charles, but like him I am the oldest of four children and I have vivid memories still from when I was three years old. I’m sure the King was pensive that day with so much on his mind. Memories of his mother and grandfather, intimations of his own mortality, anxiety perhaps for the future and what it holds, feeling extremely exhausted from cancer treatments and having to delay his planned respite to receive his ungrateful Twat of a traitorous son.

For the good of his mental health and physical recovery, let us hope that Charles recognizes that he is not best equipped right now either emotionally or physically to deal with the stress of the Montecito Unflushables. He received ginger no nuts for the bare minimum of civility which was far more than no nuts deserved, and far more than he will ever get from anyone else in his family. I am hoping that William has been appointed to be the pointman in charge of dealings with the Sussexes And will hold the line. Whenever the time comes for Charles depart this earthly coil I don’t expect Hazzard to be invited to participate whatsoever in Operation Menai Bridge. I really think William is that angry, with justification. After the GMA interview in which Unflushable told Will Reeve that he loved his family and said “I’m sure” when asked what the outlook was that reconciliation would now take place.

I’m sure the Office of the Dook and Dookess of Sussex has duly informed BP that they’d better be falling in line with the program. Because Hazzard has willed it so.

Prince Harry holds talks with First Nations chief over commitment to Canada’s indigenous people
Duke of Sussex offers to resume discussions next year as he prepares to launch Invictus Games winter tournament

The Duke of Sussex has held talks with a First Nations chief about the Crown’s historic commitment to Canada’s indigenous people, as the Duke tells of his hope that “we can depart and return as friends...

no link because it's behind a pay wall.

------------------------------

he's meddling in Canadian affairs now.
Camilla Long is not a monarchist but she writes some great zingers here:

There’s a gap in the royal pack and, oh look, here’s Prince Harry
The Sussexes have reached another sticky crossroads, so what next for him and Meghan?

“Meep-meep-meek-eek-nrhkkeeekk.” What’s that? “Meep meep NEEEEKK.” Who?

What the —

Oh, it’s Prince Harry again, hanging on to our legs, begging to get our attention.

Just look what he did last week: flew to Whistler and flung himself down a bobsleigh ride at 99mph. He also tirelessly tried “wheelchair curling”, while Meghan looked on, gaunt and unamused, in a $1,295 “cape coat”. He gave another interview to Superman’s son, Will Reeve, on Friday, in which he said he would happily consider becoming a US citizen but also being reunited with his family.

“Any sickness brings families together,” he mooed.

Come on, Harry, I screamed: I can’t keep on telling you this. You really can’t do both. You can’t be American and a British royal.

This was Sussexes: the Relaunch 2.0. Gone were the old, boring websites, the tedious, confusing, long, German names. Who in Idaho or Utah has time for the cumbersome “Mountbatten-Windsor”, unless it’s a type of cow?

So they’ve renamed their family Sussex (yes), while, confusingly, still keeping their titles, and replaced their old, sad website with a new, sad, content-free (again) one that took a year “to build” but in which Harry is still called a “humanitarian” and Meghan — styled “Meghan, Duchess of Sussex”, as if they’d got divorced — is a “feminist”.

To which you and I might absolutely also scream: “So what has changed?”

And to which you might, also, answer: “Nothing.”

Harry and Meghan are now reaching (yet another) sticky crossroads. Audiences have long grown tired of their stunts and their fakery: anyone watching him receive, for example, a “Living Legend of Aviation” award last month, for “services to aerospace”, might easily have thought: no, no, that’s too stupid. I simply cannot look at any more of this.

So where now for two people who, however much they dress it up, have no talent, no charisma and no communication skills? And no, Harry introducing Reeve to a man from Nigeria called Peacemaker trying adaptive sit skiing does not make him an incredible communicator.

The only thing they have left, and they know it, is what they had at the beginning, and that is their royalty.

I think this is probably why Harry has now said he will “step into a royal role” while his father is recovering from his illness. On the surface, this is a shameless attempt to capitalise on his father’s cancer. But it’s also a howling cry for survival: Harry knows that there is only one job in which two badly dressed, tasteless, awkward, clueless, over-orthodonted egomaniacs will truly feel at home, and that is shaking hands with people outside Windsor.

So he’s putting out feelers, and, by nature, I think the King would be, shall we say, reunion-adjacent. He knows that “reconciliation” is by far the best franchise finale for both of them. You don’t carry around a teddy bear all your life without a Hollywood eye for drama, and what makes the best, soppiest ending.

The natural response to this will, of course, be horror. No, thanks, the ginger pillock can stay in his 16-bogged mansion. He’s made his bed, he can lie in it, etc. He’s been so rude about his family — if he likes America so much, he can continue licking tragic Tyler Perry, the Ripple of Hope award, Oprah and unlimited NFL players. But that is to misunderstand how royalty (or, indeed, families) work.
Royalty is as much about big stars and soap opera as it is about, as Harry lisps, “service”. Put it this way: no one cares about mayors. When British diplomats visit Saudi Arabia, they don’t want someone who’s simply opened 196 swimming pools. They want megawatt glamour and global recognition and the ability to look that dude in the eye and whisper, “I know your nutsack is literally gold-plated, but this guy’s family has been in charge of Britain for a thousand years.” And since Charles is unwell, and Kate’s off games, the royal pack is looking rather thin and dull and Harry-less.

You’ve basically got William, never one to wear anything lightly, doing the job of six people — I’d say there was Camilla, but you cannot rely on a 76-year-old, especially one who is, according to Charles’s own former PR man, “monumentally lazy”. The next options, outside Charles’s family, are Anne (fine) and Andrew and the Yorkies, and be honest: if you had to choose between the two princes, it’s not going to be the Pizza Express one, is it?

As for being rude about the family: so what. They fought over lip balm and dog bowls, subjects that won’t even register with Charles.

And then there’s the pure karma angle: how enjoyable it would be to watch these two apex leeches come crawling back, begging for a lighthouse to open, because otherwise they can’t get security. That way, we can watch them pick their way through tasks we know they despise, while being told they can’t do a new podcast, or wear a £3,000 quilted Hermès jacket, or stage the whole of the Invictus Games in a ski resort, just because it is more convenient holiday-wise.

We can listen to them whinnying about “coming together” and telling us they “will not be broken”, when that’s exactly what’s happened. I mean: I’d lap it up. And I’m afraid that is a lot of what royalling is about.
Move away Justin Trudeau here comes Henry Sussex!

Hilarious.

The bill introduced in Parliament to commence the process to strip the titles has reportedly passed the first round of consideration.

If this nonsense about Harry meeting and “negotiating” with First Nations leaders for reparations is true, the stripping had better be expedited as soon as practical. The palace should be very alarmed that Harry is acting like an emissary of the King in a Commonwealth country. Harry doesn’t even understand the issue; his sole concern is appearing like a big shot with executive powers he never ever had even when he was a popular Royal.

Re. the power if William:

He's firmly rejected Harry's attempt to weasel back into being a working royal. There really is nothing to worry about. Harry and Meghan can scheme all they want with whatever support (overt or covert) from Charles but William is standing firm on his "no."

This is the third time we've seen William this angry, and he only gets this angry when his family is attacked (first time was the "we're very much not a racist family" after Oprah and the second time was when he caught the pap filming the children).

He definitely didn't like Harry coming to bother Charles and he definitely didn't like whatever Harry had to say, which Charles definitely told William about in their own Sandringham meeting...which is the whole point of KP leaking to Myers that they met - William is putting Harry on notice that he knows. Whatever it is, he knows ... (my addition: and he firmly shut it down)

brf-rumortrackinganon sums up February, so far:

2/5/24: Buckingham Palace announced King Charles has cancer. Fortunately it was caught early, Charles is doing/feeling well, he's bgeginning treatment immediately.
2/6/24: Harry catches a last-minute flight to London. Clarence House puts out a story "business as usual, nothing to worry about, King can still work and he is still working" (i.e., Harry go home).
2/7/24: Harry arrives in London. He goes directly to Charles, who is delaying travel to Sandringham to see him. Harry's PR says they met for an hour, Meghan wanted to say hello/wish him well via Facetime but Charles declined, and Harry went to BP for the evening. The Daily Mail tracked the comings and goings from Clarence House and realized the meeting lasted less than 15 minutes, from the time of Harry's convoy entering the grounds to Charles's helicopter leaving. It is further revealed that Harry spent the night in a hotel, William didn't return Harry's calls, Harry didn't want Camilla involved in the meeting, and none of Harry's "friends" offered to host him for the night. Also, William makes his first public engagements since mid-January when Kate's treatment began; Tom Cruise is there.
2/8/24: Harry flies home. He's papped at Heathrow entering the VVIP suite (as one does). Wait, Harry's not at home! He's in Las Vegas for the Super Bowl (or the Superb Owl) and makes a surprise appearance to present the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award. Sussex PR immediately begins telling everyone that Harry and Meghan will be attending the Super Bowl.
2/9/24: Lambrook School begins half-term break and the Wales family travels to Anmer Hall/Sandringham estate. Harry's appearance in Vegas gets picked up by the media.
2/10/24: Meghan's PR starts walking back their own rumors that they'll be in Vegas for the Super Bowl, citing the need to prepare for their Canada IG trip.
2/11/24: Super Bowl Sunday. No Harry and Meghan to be seen.
2/12/24: Meghan's PR reveals she spent the weekend cooking with Afghan immigrants in an Archewell initiative.
2/13/24: Harry and Meghan launch their newest rebranding effort with their new Sussex website with Meghan's coat of arms (rather than their joint coat of arms). Meghan announces a new podcast deal with someone no one has really heard of.
2/14/24: Harry and Meghan arrive in Vancouver for the "one year to 2025 Invictus Games." Meghan coordinates a photoshoot with outdoor activities; merches two outfits; and virtue-signals their "we're still royal" demands with Kate cosplay, a coat called Kensington, and a 'you can call us Sir/Ma'am' exchange caught on camera. In the evening they're papped going to a super-romantic Valentine's Day dinner date.
2/15/24: Day 2 of the Vancouver IG kickoff visit. They visit wheelchair basketball. Meghan gives her signature full-body contact-hugs. Sussex PR announce that the family has changed their surname to Sussex (from Mountbatten-Windsor) and this is the first time all family members have the same surname. Meghan also claps back at mounting criticism by saying "We will not be broken."
2/16/24: Day 3 of the Vancouver IG kickoff visit. Harry gives an interview to GMA's Will Reeve (son of the late Superman actor Christopher Reeve and his wife, Dana) in which he blabs about Charles's cancer and reiterates how much he loves his family, hinting that he's available to come back. Sussex PR also drops an article in the afternoon (with BP collaboration) announcing Harry and Meghan's plan to return with half in/half out; this is very clearly one of Charles's trial balloons from Clarence House.
Sandie said…
Cont.

(Today) 2/17/24: Backlash to the trial balloon is swift, so Clarence House backtracks immediately and does damage control. Kensington Palace announces that William will attend the 2024 BAFTAs tomorrow. Half-term break for Lambrook School ends on February 19th so the Waleses are traveling back to London/Windsor this weekend. And Hollywood has fought back by leaking about their Netflix deal, which contradicts a ton of Meghan's PR from 2020/2021.
----------
My comment: this blogger is convinced that Charles is weak. I find that all bloggers have their bias: Charles, William or Catherine are targeted alongside the duo. For this blogger, it is Charles. I do think Charles loves his younger son and, like the late Queen, is likely to be more conciliatory because of the wisdom of age and religion. His kindness in bringing Fergie back in the fold shows that. But I think he actually does not like the wife, finds his younger son tiresome, and is quite happy with the grandchildren and step grandchildren he has so does not miss the two he does not know. I also think he has a lifetime's experience of devotion to duty (it has shaped and controlled his life), and any family relationships must fit into that to flourish. Camilla, William, Catherine, Edward, Sophie, and perhaps even Andrew (plus all adult children) understand that without resentment or rebelling. Supposedly William had an issue with Charles being too busy to see his grandchildren a while back, but they seemed to sort that out amicably and now make the most of their time at Windsor or Sandringham to get together as family (in London they are just too busy). The duo turned down every invitation to Balmoral after their engagement, and to Sandringham from the Christmas just before the official Megxit. I think it has now reached a stage where any such invitations are just polite procedure and if they do turn up, their presence would be endured: the estates are large and there are plenty of courtiers to 'run interference'. The wife does not care to take up such invitations and wants to keep the titled children out of the UK, but I suspect that hapless is too thick to read the room and just might turn up at Balmoral this coming summer.

On the new website:

The new Sussex website is a problem. It conveys a legitimacy to the public that Harry and Meghan do not have, which The Queen and Edward Young made very sure was publicly known back in 2020. In particular, it's the use of Meghan's coat of arms, which signals palace support or endorsement. IMO, Buckingham needs to force them to take the coat of arms down.

I suspect they are using Meghan's coat of arms because a) Meghan believes it was personally awarded to her and is hers to use as she wants, whereas Harry's coat of arms probably comes with strings from the BRF and b) it's CYA if ever there's a divorce - if you look at it from a business standpoint, this is nothing more than Meghan branding the company with her name so she can prove ownership when they're splitting assets in a divorce, increasing her chances of getting the "company."

https://brf-rumortrackinganon.tumblr.com/

My comment: I do not think the wife considers hapless in decisions she makes. She never even considered his coat of arms, but perhaps he objected because he knew his had to be updated because he is now son of a king and no way was she going to be delayed or have to engage with the British court so she defiantly just used hers. I also do not think she will be satisfied with having 'won', despite what she says, until she is using HRH again, gets royal protection, and gets endorsement and funding from the monarchy to appear on major global platforms when she chooses to.
Sandie said…
What about Archewell?

They're probably phasing out Archewell. It doesn't have the same visual connection to Harry and Meghan that Sussex does. I think they struggled so much with Archewell and were never able to get it off the ground in terms of a brand or an identity, in part due to the COVID-era launch. Sussex is a much stronger association for them and connects them more tightly to the royal identity. Archewell will probably be either their nonprofit arm or their content creator arm but it won't be as important going forward as it's been in the past.

Frankly, I would be surprised if Archewell v Sussex branding didn't come up in the brand analysis that WME did when Meghan first signed with them. We know they did a brand analysis because there was a ton of PR in August 2023 about Harry and Meghan becoming separate brands, which didn't work at all and they were back together as a "Sussex" brand in September 2023 with Dusseldorf Invictus Games. Seeing the success of "Team Sussex" in Dusseldorf definitely informed the website and the rebranding attempt.

https://brf-rumortrackinganon.tumblr.com/

Comment: I don't think they are that strategic. They are driven by their narcissism and unrealistic view of themselves, and often by spite and malice. Under Archwell, they built no foundation for lifelong success. They had money thrown at them for trashing the royal family and by people who were bedazzled by their meaningless word salad. Rebranding is not going to change that, but it is a more suitable vehicle for grifting, which they have been hugely successful with. Trying to sell herself as a success and major figure in certain issues simply makes the site confusing.
Sandie said…
What about the timing of all this?

They're taking advantage of the quietness from the royal family. They do this every year like clockwork when 1) the BRF is on summer holidays (July through early September) and 2) the BRF is on winter holidays (late December through early February). What is unusual about this timing is that it's taking place in mid-February and possibly well into March, which is a clear signal that it's the Sussexes taking advantage of Kate's absence to draw attention to themselves because Kate isn't there to steal their headlines.

And that it was a whole week of Sussex PR is not unusual either. It's their usual pattern when they have something big they want to promote and dominate the news with. It's cyclical at this point: first is a reminder of their royal status (Harry flying to Charles's bedside), then it's a reminder of their celebrity status (the Super Bowl appearance), then it's a big announcement (Sussex website), culminating in a set of public engagements/appearances (Invictus Games) with media attention. And to keep the attention coming, they drop breadcrumbs about the royal family to look like they're still "in," which buys them a few extra days of coverage because Charles falls for the bait every time.

The more interesting bit of timing in all of this is the Netflix article. Netflix wouldn't randomly give comments like this, so something must have happened behind the scenes for them to be pushed to this particular breaking point. I feel like perhaps the Sussexes may be trying to renegotiate their deals - maybe they asked for more money or maybe Meghan is trying to get more out of this 'Meet Me at the Lake' production than was agreed - and this is Netflix making it clear that it's over and done. I also have a niggling feeling that it might be connected to the upcoming film awards (BAFTA Film Awards tomorrow, Oscars on March 10th) - maybe they're trying to score tickets to parties using Netflix's name?

https://brf-rumortrackinganon.tumblr.com/

My comment: Consistent and steady progress, even in maintaining a public profile, is not their style. They latch onto opportunities for appearances, spreading rumours, and making appearances. What they do in the vast amount of time in between those times is certainly not work!
Sandie said…
The blogger is insistent that Charles wants to bring them back but is hampered by three problems:

1. Time
... it took Charles 30 years and 4 significant deaths (Diana, Queen Mother, Philip, and her own forthcoming death) to get The Queen's support for Camilla to become 'Queen Camilla and, in turn, the public's support or the public's indifference.

Charles doesn't have that kind of time to get the institutional and public support to bring Harry back. He's got 10 years at best, which is now handicapped by a cancer diagnosis.

Beyond that, he doesn't even have Harry and Meghan's cooperation the same way he had Camilla's cooperation. Camilla cooperated with a 10-year wait to be liked well enough that no one would object to her marrying Charles. Camilla then cooperated with a further 17-year wait to be liked well enough that the institution would support her becoming Queen.

Can Harry and Meghan wait that long? No. They can't. They couldn't wait an extra year to get engaged. They couldn't wait to have their first child. They couldn't wait out the criticism from Fall 2018. They couldn't wait out the criticism from Summer 2019. Harry couldn't wait for the phone-hacking settlement. When they want something, they want it now. They buy completed projects and slap their branding on it vs. developing their own programs.

https://brf-rumortrackinganon.tumblr.com/
Sandie said…
2. Co-operation
Can Harry and Meghan cooperate with anyone? No. They can't. They couldn't cooperate with William and Kate on the Royal Foundation. They couldn't cooperate with the courtiers for Archie's birth. They couldn't cooperate with the family on Megxit. They couldn't cooperate with the rota for tour coverage. They need to be totally and fully in control of absolutely everything. Their idea of cooperation is 'I tell you what to do, you do it.'

And because they're too impatient and because they refuse to cooperate, there's no way they'll support a 10-years long PR drive for Charles to rehabilitate their public image and get William's support. Heck, they can't even last a 3-month media rebrand. Charles knows that, which I suspect is why he may be trying to fast-track it but 1) when has fast-tracking something ever gone well for the BRF and 2) William is the linchpin holding it all together. Charles can't do anything without William's support. Yes, William is that powerful now - the public does pay attention to what he and Kate signal and the public would support them more than they would support Charles. Charles can't risk losing William's favor any more than he already has.

https://brf-rumortrackinganon.tumblr.com/

Comment: the three reasons do follow on from each other.
Sandie said…
3. Camilla

The third reason stopping Charles from taking Harry and Meghan back as working royals is Camilla and that Harry doesn't want her involved. He admitted it last week when he didn't contradict her leak about it. IMO, this reveals Harry's hand: he wants to position himself (or Meghan and himself) as Camilla's alternate, the way Charles often stood in as Philip's alternate. They want Camilla to retire so they can take her place in prestige, wealth, and attention. It's the only way they can "be better" than William and Kate, and they probably think it's how they can get "more" in the inheritance than William. Unfortunately for them, Camilla is Charles's line in the sand so no way will Charles let that happen after he spent 30 years getting Camilla to be able to sit next to him, and on top of all that, Camilla herself didn't wait 30 years to be Queen just for a pair of narcisstic glassbowl shitheads to usurp her at the last second.

https://brf-rumortrackinganon.tumblr.com/

I agree with this ... More than ever, Charles needs Camilla. He will not tolerate any disrespect. Surely he knows that the duo disrespect and trash anything and everyone and then blame the victim for causing harm to them.

More summing up:

When you look at the "family" side of it, we know that Charles is more accepting of allowing the Sussexes back as family members, albeit with two strict rules:

No Meghan
No royal work

We know these are Charles's rules because it's already been communicated to us, most especially in the events around the Queen's funeral and his own coronation.

We also know these are Charles's' terms because Harry is publicly fighting against them this week, which suggests that these may have been reiterated (or relitgated, perhaps) during the <15-minute visit on February 7th.

"We all finally have the same surname for the first time as a family" and "maybe I'll become an American' is Harry's way of telling Charles and the courtiers that all four of them are a package deal and they all move together (like Archie's salt and pepper shakers). Meaning that if Charles wants Harry back, Charles must also take Meghan, Archie, and Lili too.

The Vancouver trip being such a royal rip-off is Harry's way of demanding royal work. His position is that he and Meghan must have the exact same lifestyle now that they had back in 2018: a palace residence, glamorous patronages, military honors, gushy praising media coverage, carriage processions, and equal precedence to the entire Wales family.

All this to illustrate that the dividing line is over the work aspect.

On one side is everyone saying "no, they can't work, they're just family." On the other side is Harry and Meghan saying "we're not just family, we're also working royals." And Charles is there smack in the middle saying "don't make my last years miserable" begging someone to give in. It's clear that Charles hopes it will be the institution (i.e. William) that gives in so he can fast-track the rehabilitation.

https://brf-rumortrackinganon.tumblr.com/

Comment: I agree. The issue is that they want back what was stripped from them. As family, they have had plenty of opportunities to reconcile in private, and it is the duo who have stopped that from happening. Balmoral and Sandringham are private estates where they can meet with family, but they have avoided both places, even before Megxit.
Sandie said…
The final summing up from
https://brf-rumortrackinganon.tumblr.com/

So no, I don't think Charles and the Sussexes will succeed in being part-time working royals. I think we'll see a lot of negotiating in the coming weeks and months (like Sussex demands for Trooping) and it may get loud and it may look frighteningly real, but that's only because William and Kate are on leave from work and their absence lets Harry and Meghan play offense. Once the Waleses are working again, or a new picture of Kate is released (I'm still hedging my bets for something celebrating Mother's Day next month), the Sussexes go back to playing on defense, and playing poorly.

We only need to worry if William, Kate, and Camilla appear to be changing their minds. They represent "the institution" to Charles, as well as public support (William) and establishment media (Camilla). William continues to tell everyone he isn't speaking to Harry. Kate's body language at the Windsor Walkabout keeps resurfacing. Camilla has leaked that Harry doesn't want to see her when he visits Charles and that she doesn't support the Sussexes coming back. There's nothing to worry about for now.

What I don't remember:

Has a known to be a real palace source confirmed that TK is wavering on this or just "a royal source" and a bunch of others taking that ball and running with it because it makes a good headline and they get a lot of personal ink and comment ink?

The Duo do tend to send up trial balloons packaged as supportive future truth (fait accompli). Why would this be any different other than we have a cancer overlay for TK and out for healing with PPoW?

There is a part of me which sees a historical parallel between The Queen talking (expressing some frustration) to someone about how Diana would go on and on, rehashing something (one of the bios) which I remember as The Queen really couldn't change the situation with something I read about how The King really felt that he was listening to the same conversation over and over when talking with his son which was making him not want to talk to his son. If true, who says we don't become our parent at some point?

The duo want to be paid for tasks? They're not official representatives of the BRF but this doesn't surprise me. Remember * had the gall to complain that she was not being paid for walkabouts during a royal visit to Australia in 2018. The sheer nerve of her crass remark is hard to believe. This illustrates how little she understood her role in the BRF- and she still doesn't get it.

The truth is that the important question with the baroness is always money, always has been and Harry had already in his youth a reputation of extreme stinginess. He is a cheap man who never paid anything and expected his friends to take care of the bills.

She is holding on to Harry as long as she can to be sure that every penny he is going to inherit will be hers. Only then will she move on. It would not be fair to say that Harry's interest in his father's health is not filial but the interest of "MA'AM" in this question....Well...
This is priceless - the Royal Rogue has taken a lead from Lady C and purchased a domain name for them - https://dukeandduchessofsausages.com/

where a Sinner suggests they should have other British places names substituted for the one's they've already got. As she is clearly in need of a good bra, I'd like the irony of the Countess of Tyttenhanger (Herts).

There's already a slew of jokes about the Ugley/Idle/Loose Women's Institutes -places in Essex, Yorks & Kent respectively.

Or dub him a Count rather than Earl...
So they'd be freelance, self-employed Royals? That's a first - HMRC would be all over them.
I'd forgotten this until a Sinner mentioned there's a village called Nasty in Herts, not far Ugley just over the border with Essex.

Six Mile Bottom, anyone.

Duke of Nether Wallop?
So Harry will become a king:

Henry Charles Albert David, The Viceroy of Canada
And This-One's-Wife, The Vicereine of Canada

No wonder they have started to use coats of arms and regal dignities.

I don’t doubt that the sentimental paternal side of Charles would like to see his two sons reconcile and invite H (not TW) for private family events without rancor. When he told his sons he was begging them not to make his final years a misery, he was speaking on a private family level, not addressing their respective roles viz. “work”.

I now believe the Sandringham Summit was far more permanent than the public was told at the time. It was the Sussex camp that released all the folderol about the “1-year review”. I think the Queen unequivocally fired them for good from Royal service. They got a chunk of change from Charles as their severance package. It must have been crystal clear that the two were unrepentant self serving liars who could never be trusted with Royal duties or access. Things came to a non-negotiable head over “Archie” and the international humiliation inflicted upon the Crown by their disastrous performance on the South Africa tour. The Queen made them leave Royal property forthwith and allowed them to call it “a holiday break closer to Me-Gain’s family.” The Manifesto Re “Sussex Royal and the flop sweat performance at Canada House were retaliation. Every move they’ve made since smacks of sour grapes “We’ll show THEM-itis.

Four years on, the Unflushables’ only “achievement” is in proving that cr*p floats. They have outed themselves as talentless self absorbed head cases with no ideas, no intentions of working at anything, no likeability, no ability to work with anyone, including each other. Just a short sighted stupidity that is only matched by their toxic sense of grandiose entitlement. They have nothing to offer as human beings, never mind working servants of the Crown. If Charles brings them back in any capacity, his reign will be over because the fed-up British people would call for a republic and his head on a pike. (Figuratively)

Charles was an indulgent father, which is a primary root of the current predicament. But I firmly believe it’s going to be a frozen day in Hades before the f-Ing grifters ever are allowed public role again. William would sooner cut off a limb than permit this.

If Charles appears to weaken on this, Willam will yank him back from that ledge of insanity. Charles tolerated much but HazNowt crossed the Rubicon when he publicly trashed Camilla and Catherine. Charles would never choose his toerag kid’s wishes over those of his Queen. The Bumfartons and their toxic Flying Monkey Squad pose a real and present danger to the security and mental peace of the Wales family. TBW is a malignant stalker and NoNutz is her gleefully complicit Handbag lapdog puppet. William Will Not Have It. Will Charles alienate the Prince of Wales who swore his fealty by capitulating to the extortionists from Cali? If he does, he is finished. Because not only won’t William stand for it, the British public won’t stand for it. There will be an outcry for William to step in as Regent for an obviously mentally incapacitated monarch of the Bumfartons retudrn to Blighty on their terms.

It’s not happening. It will never happen. No Meghan. No payment for cherry picked Royal photo ops. No acknowledgment of the Invisikids. No restoration of tiltes, patronages or ranks stripped by the late Queen. Charles will not risk his fragile popularity, William will never forgive—and H insulted the Queen Consort. Their gooses are cooked.

Interesting comment:

"Without trying to make apologies for Hairball, living inside the narc bubble changes everyone who isn't the narc. I'm pretty sure if you took Harold out, put him in a room and asked him how would he describe himself, he would just list the points MM has drummed into him and herself, and that's it. He has no idea who he is anymore, if he can't quote what MM has agreed he is and can be. That's because in order to survive life in the narc bubble, it's best not to think about things independently too much. Mostly because you don't want to admit to yourself it's partially also your own fault how it all has turned out by choosing to go along with it, drinking the kool aid, and that it's near impossible to fix it now. And then because you don't want the narc to think you can think independently, because it's dangerous if the narc knows you have your own opinions. MM has been very very clever - isolated H, isolated the kids, isolated herself. Very well played indeed. IF Harold wanted out of this life with her, she's made leaving and sorting himself & the kids out almost impossible."

https://www.reddit.com/r/SaintMeghanMarkle/comments/1auijb8/harry_is_known_to_have_a_temper_why_do_you_he_has/

My guesses:

Correct that she has made him leaving her or doing something for invisikids impossible.

I think he does sometimes stand up for himself, hence the rumours of him staying elsewhere (and her).
----------

The tabloids in the UK are still pushing the reconciliation story, with William and TBW cast as the villains who are standing in the way of the prodigal son's return. I doubt that hairless feels any remorse or regret, and every indication is that he believes his wife has been wronged and unless there is an apology and amends made (give her whatever she wants), his life at home is miserable.

I always thought it was a gentleman's agreement kinda deal. Nothing legally enforceable.
I didn't even think there was anything signed by all parties.
More...what was agreed to was documented by someone in attendance. Nothing signed.

Sounds more and more like a multi-page document was presented to H...sign here.
There wasn't any negotiation whatsoever. Sign here. Take it or leave it.
If leave it, no severance $ from Charles.

Thus, no need for Mm to be present or listening. It was either H signs it or he doesn't. We won't be discussing anything.

It does not seem fair that the papers are constantly writing how WILLIAM does not want his brother back and that it is his DUTY to help Harry back to Britain and the Royal Family. WHY?

First: King Charles is the king. What he says goes. If he wants Harry back all he needs to do is command. After all he is the head of the realm and his family. He is the man who has the power. It is very stupid and naive not to understand this.

Second: There are two royal households in Britain. The household of the King and Queen and the household of the Prince and Princess of Wales. Hundreds of people in different positions in different palaces who have FIRSTHAND EXPERIENCE of the Sussex lovebirds. Who know the reality of what has happened and who can not tell the truth. People that Harry and his wife have walked over and treated as crap and who are not hoping their return. Who wants to serve this-one's-wife after she has yelled and humiliated them? By now all the world know she has filthy manners towards the "little people" who are insignificant in her eyes. And if the stories are true she has given Harry a proper schooling with these tricks.

Third: The Armed forces hardly have any representative jobs for someone like Harry who everyone despises. The man who bragged about the enemies he had killed and who received an aviation medal even though he has never piloted anything more complicated than paper airplanes.

I don't think William needs to do anything and it certainly is not only his call there are lots of interests around him who have a say in all this.

San-die,

The Reddit comment you shared was astute about life inside the Narc bubble. It’s not that Lady Bumfarton has been “very very clever” particularly—the way she’s isolated Hairless and created such strife and drama within his family is the predictable MO of her kind. What’s unique about her to use HG Tudor’s parlance, “intimate partner primary fuel source” is that Hairball is a scion of the Royal family of the United Kingdom. It must have come as a surprise to even a seasoned hustler like Herself that her target proved to be so dim and easy to control. It took a couple of years of insinuating herself with people who could put her in Hairball’s orbit and greasing PR palms to create an image of herself as an humanitarian activist, but the malignant stars aligned and she snagged him with, again to quote the Darth Vader of the Dark Arts, HGT “lashings of spicy poontang”, and the low hanging rotten apple of the Windsor family tree fell right into her conniving basket.

But why did he fall so easy? Narcs are cunning and can be charming and persuasive. Far better men than Hairball have fallen prey. Look at Johnny Depp—an intelligent, thoughtful humble gifted man who shows compassion in action by entertaining sick children in the hospital as Captain Jack Sparrow—not for “payment” or as a self aggrandizing publicity stunt but because he’s intrinsically kind. Johnny also has some demons of substance abuse and I think that’s what made him susceptible to his Narc. I’ve never seen any of Amber Heard’s movies, But I think without question she meets the benchmarks for being a more talented actress than Mattress as well as more attractive and significantly younger. When we consider the men Mattress conned before Hairball, she presented herself much more appealingly then. With Hairball the bar was set so low she didn’t have to work terribly hard, it seems. And it showed. Funny how when she was a hustling starlet/unemployed actress unknown by anyone she could put herself together better than she ever has on the world stage as a “Royal”. Interesting, that. Consider the way she looked on her wedding day, the day when all other brides look their absolute best—her contempt for her groom and
the entire proceeding was clear.

Back in those long ago days of 5,6 years past Harry was presented as the lovestruck or at least c*** struck Empath who adoringly followed his soulmate off a cliff. That is the tragically romantic narrative but I don’t think it was ever like that at all. She was the X-rated short term playmate who was supposed to go away like all his other temporary girlfriends when he was done with her except that she refused to. Somehow she became his Rasputin pitching her vision whereby H could get what he really wanted—revenge on his father and his grandparents for taking Mummy away and even more important, eclipsing his brother. Maybe he even believed then that he could discredit William and replace him as the rightful heir. Now that William has acceded to his power as Prince of Wales, Knucklehead is being schooled otherwise. Trying to capitalize on the monarch’s illness for personal gain is beyond the pale but everyone but the Sugars sees what’s going on.

Narcs target Empaths but quite often it seems, two Narcs will be drawn together. One must necessarily be the weaker. Harry is the Beta Narc in this toxic alliance. He is Loeb to her Leopold; a jackal to her lioness. He fell in line with her and continues with her because they both want the same thing—to be worshipped as the true King and Queen of the World who have been victimized by his evil institutionalized family and a nation that refuses to bow to their greatness.

They will never stop hammering away at their shared delusion. She didn’t “make” him bad, nor is he a tortured hostage devoid of free will to escape. He’s always wanted this but he’s just annoyed and pissed that he’s not getting what he’s demanding like he always has in the past. This is the real Harry behind the carefully managed façade the palace constructed for him which took massive personal and resources to sustain for two decades. Outside of their protection we see Harry as he has always been behind closed doors to his family and friends. And unredeemable toad. He has been simmering massive resentment entitlement and hate that has been bubbling since he and William were children. But he was too lazy and too thick to do anything about it until she came along. She’s the match that lit the fuse but the real incendiary power has always been his. She masterminded the Oprah interview but Spare was far worse. Hazard is fully complicit in this. He often looks miserable not because he has regrets that because he resents playing second fiddle to her.

Two odious poisonous toads who deserve each other.

This is why they must never be given any quarter and be allowed to wedge their slimy cloven hooves back into the door to the Royal family. I think if William had had his way, Spare and Stare would have been banned from his grandparents’ funerals and the Coronation. William has been dealing with the poisonous ginger toad since they were children. He’s had enough of it and refuses to cover for Hairball any more. Chas kept himself at a remove so he’s only just getting a taste now of the vast gulf between his two children that has been there since they went to school in short pants. It’s just that William isn’t playing along with the official “two brothers against the world” narrative to get Aitch positive spin any more. The entire family had been complicit in hiding the sociopath in their midst but they lost control of the narrative when Sparry joined forces with a fellow vampire. William is prepared to be the Van Helsing of the RF and let them wither and burn up In the glaring blaze of his dedicated antipathy. Whether or not Parliament agrees to remove the titles, the real stake through their black hearts is going to be perpetual disregard by the RF no matter what stunts they pull. Charles will look out for H as long as he is King but God help the two devils the moment W assumes the Crown. I’m extremely confident that God has plans for them but of a vastly different sort. So they should be scared. Let the winnowing of perfidious princes and their low rent yacht girls commence.

Then they would have to change the surnames of the Invisikids - to Windsor ( though I'd prefer Mount Batten and Windsor. Yes, I know the first name as one word was a translation of Battenburg a place in Germany but there is a headland in Plymouth Sound called Mount Batten, facing Sutton Harbour. Just about the right size of Dukedom for H.)

Very interesting insights from Hikari: Hairball always looks resentful because he's playing Second Fiddle to that one. He's the Prince, she's a nobody without talent, wit, intelligence or charm, yet she always shoves herself in front of Hairball. Always, and at every event.

And, William had to tolerate and put up a good front for the Toad throughout their shared life.

It is very believable that Harry had to tolerate some searching when he wanted to meet his father. The people who protect the King (not just the military or police) are protecting him against every menace and a menace is a description of that moron his son to a T. Charles' secretaries and other personal servants hardly regard Harry as a sunshine boy of the week and would not risk anything untoward coming out of this meeting afterwards. Harry's face in the car on the way to the airfield was quite stormy. He obviously did not get what he wanted which is very good.

I feel very sorry for Johnny Depp: cast-off by Disney, his disastrous marriage to Ms Heard (who is, trust me ladies, seriously good-looking especially when distressed or crying) and then just as he was getting on his feet his friend Mr Beck who must have been therapeutic for him dies. I don’t know for absolute sure, but I feel like I read very recently that Disney was poised to invite JD back to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise for a 7th? film. Turns out that virtue-signaling righteous indignation isn’t nearly as lucrative as Captain Jack Sparrow. There’s no question of another actor replacing Johnny in his signature character. Capt Jack isn’t 007 and there can be only One. They could try of course but Johnny still has legions of fans that would boycott the movie if they did so. Depp continues as the face of Dior for Men and the brand stood defiantly behind him when all the other rats were jumping ship. They believed in his innocence and apparently so did the magistrate. Being exonerated does wonders for having one’s “friends” come sucking back around. I don’t know about Johnny’s judge but when Australian star Craig McLachlan was sued by 4 women for sexual harassment, HER Honor dismissed the plaintiffs’ case as failing to meet a reliable standard of proof and awarded damages to Mr.McLachlan in his countersuit for defamation. All 4 of the women had been cast members of the 2014 tour of Rocky Horror Picture Show of which CM was star and producer. Female judges and jurors can spot a manipulative woman better than a man perhaps since we aren’t as distracted by a hair flip, attractive tears and a great pair of headlights. But gender bias means that women are probably more likely to be snowed by a sympathetic male defendant—particularly if he’s got a female attorney who can appear to burnish his bona fides as Not Guilty—ESPECIALLY when it’s a case with an abuse element.

It’s nice of you be concerned about Mr. Depp but I think the worst is behind him and things are looking up. His fans never wavered but his Narc ex put him through hell. I really think Trevor Engleson feels his pain.

Re. William’s investiture, I was under the impression that CR’s swift declaration creating William PoW as the first executive item in his post Accession speech was due to an investiture never being planned. A couple reasons—
1. A cost saving measure very much in keeping with this King’s push for economy and slimming the monarchy. Apparently the cost of Charles’s investiture pageant in 1969 did not go down well in many quarters, particularly in Wales which then as now had vocal internal support for independence from the Crown. But Charles’s situation was far different than William’s. Charles acceded to Crown heir as a 3 year old and the investiture marked his coming of age as an adult fully fledged working Royal. Until then he’d been a schoolboy celebrity but hadn’t officially received his titles. The cost was justified as a needed shot in the arm for the RF since it had been more than 15 years since ER’s Coronation and almost 10 years since Aunt Margaret’s wedding. So they splashed out on launching Charles as POW. Given that HM’s funeral and CR’s Coronation both happened with the last 18 months. that was a consideration.
2. Time of the essence. With the two Toxic Bumfartons kicking off in Montecito CR acted with alacrity to confirm his first lieutenant—Hand of the King to you GoT fans—instantly removing another round of “Will They/Won’t They?” around another ceremonial event/photo op. No wait period, just hitting the ground immediately in the new configuration of the Royal lineup. William swore to be his fathers Liege man of life and limb at the Coronation which is what he would have done had a separate ceremony been held. So he has in essence already been invested. I would not doubt that a private ceremony was held at Windsor to present William with the regalia of his new office… and then cake and champagne was had. Just as well they handled it this way considering the current health situations and various other crises BP and KP are dealing with at the moment. William had his first official press conference when he was 21–half his lifetime ago. Everyone was totally expecting a very long wait for his father to vacate the POW title and thanks to Granny’s extraordinary genes, that is what came to pass.

William looked very Princely at the Coronation. The entire Wales family slayed. He

Although William said he didn't want a formal investiture, 49% of Welsh people do want an investiture with 17% undecided.

I think it would put things firmly in their place with regard to the Line of Succession once and for all.

Also, it was Charles who insisted on very expensive items in his investiture, so it would kind of be ironic if he cut back on the expenses for his successor's.

GWAH,

Do you or any of the Nutties have a recommendation of biographies of Charles? Having lived through the soap opera of the tumultuous Diana years and subsequent, I didn’t think there was much about Charles I hadn’t already heard a million times. I only started to get interested in earlier Windsor family history after getting hooked on The Crown. I realize that series is heavily fictionalized, but I was keen to compare the film version to reality. The episode in Season 3 centered around Charles’ investiture was a standout in the series, and a triumph for Josh O’Connor playing Charles. After watching this episode, I watched the real investiture of HRH 3 or 4 times. I don’t know why Olivia Coleman played the Queen so dour; in real life the Royal mother was beaming with pride throughout. I had thought Charles a rather unwilling participant in the spectacle considering that preparation for it had disrupted his studies at Cambridge and dragged him away from his beloved dramatic society. I’m sure the regalia was expensive, which makes it all the more surprising that the coronet is literally topped by a gold plated tennis ball. wouldn’t have credited Charles with the final say in what he got to wear, but he’s always had impeccable taste in clothes. Guess he couldn’t do anything about the tennis ball. He demonstrated remarkable poise for a lot of 20 years old but that coronet is hideous.

Even more shocking is that almost half of the Welsh people desire a ceremony. That must be due to William’s global popularity. I don’t think the figure was anywhere near that for his father.

Gotta wonder if William’s distaste for starring in an investiture pageant has more to do with keeps his Toerag of a brother away than any other reason. I don’t think Charles will force the issue if William doesn’t want it at the risk of disappointing half the Welsh people. Given the monarch’s health crises as well as the stress W is already under with his wife out of commission and deputizing for his father. The Joker - Harley Quinn style antics from the 2 “overseas” psychos and the real and present security risk they pose to the King and to the Wales family based on the tea about Hairless’ recent visit to Pa make tabling a huge investiture event likely. I don’t see the necessity for it, really. Have all the Princes of Wales had huge ceremonies?

It certainly would be ironic if not hypocritical. 1969, however, was a different time when the BRF was well liked and still had an aura of mystique. An expensive investiture ceremony for William would not be 'in keeping with this King’s push for economy', to quote @Hikari - his Coronation was an hour as opposed to the Queen's four hours - and wouldn't not go down well with the public after the £30M+ cost of the Unflushables' wedding and at a time of rising costs of living in the UK. William himself does not to want a ceremony.

William will not have an official investiture to become the Prince of Wales and is planning a different coronation to that of his father, it has been reported.

The prince is said to want a very "different" coronation following the historic event which was watched more than 20 million in the UK people when his father officially became King last weekend.

William was bestowed the title of Prince of Wales following the death of his grandmother in September last year and has said himself there were no plans for a formal ceremony.

His choice not to have an investiture could be an indicator of how William will continue to break with tradition as heir to the throne, The Times' Royal Editor Roya Nikkah reported.

GWAH:

Charles's princely coronet wasn't exactly `made of' Welsh gold. It's in the National Museum of Wales and IIRC the label said it was made of plastic, coated with Welsh gold, probably just a trace. It still can't have been cheap though. (The Romans probably took most of the gold out of Wales - the workings at Dolaucothi are prodigious.)

The Investiture passed peacefully but it emerged later that a sound from outside the Castle was that of a couple of nationalists blowing themselves up by accident.

BTW I sent my credit card provider's computer into a panic - I bought a book in the Museum gift shop and my bank's computer didn't recognise Welsh & treated the transaction as an attack by foreign criminals. I'd have been very peeved, were I Welsh.

I spent some wonderful times in North Wales - my father grew up on Anglesey and we often visited my grandparents there. I remember getting a souvenir mug and maybe a pencil on the occasion of Charles' investiture as POW - in keeping with so much from that time the main colour of it was a rather unattractive mustardy brown. And in fact when I watch footage of the event, much of it looks hideous, especially when compared with the "traditional" pageantry of the late Queen's funeral and Charles' coronation. The slate circle/plinth from the investiture ceremony is still there at Caernarfon Castle (which is an awesome (literally) place to visit anyway).

In the current economic climate in the UK I don't think another lavish event by the RF would go down particularly well.

William Morris Endeavors - Ari Emanuel - switched gears. They couldn't get any kind of deal for Mrs. F*cking Grifter, but they became hopeful with Mr. F*cking Grifter. WME thinks they have a much better chance of rehabilitating Mr.'s reputation, while Mrs.' rep is in the dumpster.

I was thinking back to the investiture of the present monarch as Prince of Wales. There was something faintly ridiculous about it given that he is not Welsh and it is I presume a largely ceremonial position but I commend the King for learning some Welsh and for having to put up with fulfilling the expectations of his parents which of course also included marrying Diana Spencer.

I have never understood why my parents who regarded Charles' parents as infallible and Godlike were so rude about the then Prince of Wales. Were we more respectful as a nation towards the monarchy back then? I am not sure but 'It's a Royal Knockout' where the Royals demonstrate that they are no different than you or I was not the best idea ever.

I have probably written this here before but it seems pertinent: in 1977 at the time of the Silver Jubilee my parents acquired and kept which is how it is now in my possession a colour supplement given away with the Evening Standard including some hilariously wrong predictions from that paper's resident astrologer (who does his best to avoid the great year in Charles life as coinciding life with the death of the Queen) and vast amounts of purple prose. I am sure at the time neither I or anyone else would have noticed that paying for this supplement were advertisers whose wares were a double bill at the Roxy of Virgen Nymphets and Twice a Night both X cert and adverts in Brewer Street for a massage parlour - open late new girls always available - and more of the same. It seems to me that the seediness of those adverts is the opposite of the fawning for The Royals - the two extremes of Great Britain.

There's an article in the DM on, wait for this, *'s hair.

"That’s the touching role played by her father, Thomas Markle, who told me [DM journalist in LA] that he would sometimes rise at 5am to help his young daughter smooth her hair with a straightening iron to ensure it looked exactly as she wished.

'When she wanted her hair straightening, it would take hours to do before she went to school,’ he recalls.

‘But it was something I did willingly.’"

What a spoilt little b¡tch! It's hard to believe how ungrateful she's been. Even then, as a child, she was already high maintenance. Nothing's changed.

The latest photos from the Canadian publicity tour show yet again that she is always posing for the cameras. If she interacts with anyone, she is playing a part for the camera. It is very rare to find a photo of her fully engaged with whoever she is with and unaware of the cameras.

Why do you think she holds his hand or holds him in the double claw grip when making an official appearance but not otherwise? Is this an expression of insecurity (unconscious of course)? Fear that if she does not hold onto him, she will be forgotten? That people will forget to shake her hand if she does not push her way in front?

Does the Dookess think that making an appearance, albeit via video link, at the Mayhew animal charity will endear her to the British public if not the BRF?

'Meghan Markle today paid a moving tribute to her late ‘beloved friend’ Oli Juste as she opened a new wing of a London animal charity.

The Duchess of Sussex emotionally told how the dog trainer’s sudden death in January 2022 left her heartbroken as his friends and family gathered in Mayhew where the Oli Juste wing was unveiled.

The announcement was made on Harry and Meghan’s Sussex.com website, which showed the beaming duchess wearing a beige coat, crouching down and petting a dog at the charity in north-west London.

Meghan had been a patron of her favorite animal charity since 2019, which she organized in her personal capacity.

But she resigned from her position in 2022, just a year after she and Harry moved to California.

The Duchess gave an emotional video message as she opened the new wing named after her friend.'

Her friend? I bet she can't remember him and doesn't care. The article shows our Dookess in that now (in)famous photo where she is petting a dog, squatting on her 5 inch stilettos.

She looks like she lost more weight. I think it is in her genes to put on weight easily (more like her father than her mother), so she must be doing something drastic to be this thin.

So, she is in LA while hapless is at home with the children?

She is loving being papped!

I read somewhere that her appearance at that restaurant was because she was paid to promote a brown clutch handbag during her time in Canada and even though the clutch was featured in some daily mail and other media articles about her, it was not seen in any of the photos that these media published.

So she had to go out and have herself papped with the handbag. It's brown and suede. and you can barely see it next to her hip which is covered in that brown woollen coat.

Maybe I'm a minority, but I am happy with how the BRF is handling the Markle problem. Their bad selves have been exposed to the public and the BRF's fingerprints are nowhere near the scene of the exposure. It all looks self inflicted.

I don't want them to starve in a ditch. It would be nice if they could afford food and clothing and stop bothering everybody. Meghan needs to write a book and/or give classes on how to target and reel in a fat wallet with a man attached. Harry, I don't know. I have nothing. Maybe he could be a celebrity for hire for opening new car dealerships or appearing at trendy restaurants and opening grocery stores. He may be able to sell autographed photos of himself for $100.

Oh, come on. I hear that laughter. It's possible. He won't be getting any $$$ from me but there are women that marry murderers in prison. How delusional is THAT? Another great episode in the review of The Housekeeper's Diary, from Shauna of The Vintage Read.

It is most interesting that hapless has remembered his mother as a saint and his father and entire royal family are the villains. It is clear that it was Diana's behaviour that caused a lot of damage, and that he never had the strength of character and intelligence of William, who was able to overcome any damage caused by those early years. Unfortunately he fell into the hands of a grifter and master manipulator who used his weakness of character and wounds from childhood to capture and control him.

I did some tarot readings and will post details of each. She always comes across as obssessed with material things, but the cards gave a more indepth look into her psychology ... what is unconsciously drives her and what she believes about herself, and a clue as to what she is going to do next.

His reading was unexpected ... love and romance are in the air. I'll post my (biased) interpretation but if anyone sees something different, it would be most useful to help me get past my bias.

I also did a reading on the marriage, and the obvious that I expected did not appear so I need more time for contemplation.

Her tarot reading (position, card, interpretation, my comment)

Note: Wands are energy and creativity (drive but too much equals quarrels and opposition). Cups are love, emotions and pleasure (too much equals intoxication). Swords are intellectual matters (too much equals sickness, depression, trouble and death). Disks are the material - business, possessions, material success or failure.

Path (direction she has chosen the het what she wants)
Ace of Swords
Invoked force, conquest, strength through trouble, sword of wrath, punishment, affliction, upholding justice
She has chosen to fight (her perceived enemies) and believes she is in the right.

Ahead (what happens next)
10 of Wands
Force detached from spiritual forces, destructive, cruelty and malice, selfishness, lying, repression, slander, ill will, self sacrifice and generosity
She is going to do/say something nasty (tell lies, attack someone in an interview) but she will present this as something noble and good. Is this perhaps her supposed memoirs?

Destination (where she is going to end up from this current path but not necessarily her intended goal)
7 of Swords
Unstable effort, vacillation, vain striving against opposition too powerful, partial success but giving up on the brink of winning through lack of energy, fascination with display, journey by land, untrustworthy person.
Same old story ... she gets a lot of attention, causes major ructions, but ends up harming herself through old patterns. Self sabotage.

Surrounds (her environment)
6 of Disks
Success and gains in material things, power, influence, nobility, philanthropy, dreamy and transistory situation, conceit with wealth, insolence, prodigality
She likes to flaunt material wealth, power, influence so there will be jewellery, bags, designer clothes, photographs with wealthy and successful people, speeches at galas for good causes, flaunting of royal status, maybe more awards

Secret (what she does not know or is hiding)
8 of Disks
Intelligence applied to material affairs, agriculture and building, skill, cunning, industriousness, penny wise and pound foolish, avarice and hoarding, meanness, over-careful in small things at the expense of others
She is driven by material goals, and is always looking for freebies and peole who can benefit her, but she needs to gain and cultivate the actual skills needed to build wealth

Others (people around her)
4 of Wands
Perfected work, settlement, completion after much labour, rest, subtlety, cleverness, conclusion from previous knowledge, unreliability from over anxiousness and hurriedness of action
Basically she gets other people to do all the work and tends to 'get in their way'. But she also looks at people like Oprah and does not recognize the real hard work, long hours and struggles to acquire the wealth ... she wants to be them but does not have the talent, perseverence or work ethic

Goal (what she thinks she ultimately wants)
9 of Cups
Complete success, pleasure and happiness, physical well-being, happiness almost complete but perhaps temporary, danger of vanity, self-praise, conceit, overindulgence
Note that what she 'dreams of' is centred around her ... straight hair, being thin, buying lots of itty bitty jewellery, lunch and dinner at fabulous restaurants in one day, private jets, awards, media gushing about her ... this is what she consciously wants and what, so far, she has been able to get, briefly.

So, the 'surprise' for me in this reading is that she is going to do something nasty ... see 10 of Wands in the Ahead position.

This is a hilarious fake ad for a 'lunch buddy: for the duchess!

It really bothers me that in these 'restaurant' photographs she is always striding ahead. She is never walking with the person, in conversation with them. Surely lunch is a conversational bonding experience but I see no interaction with others beyond giving instructions. Never so deep in conversation that she does not notice the photographers (like when you are kicked out the restaurant to free the table because you are deep in conversation that continues as you walk to the car).

mini reading meghan markle
according to the spread, meghan is trying to tame and channel something perhaps her past into you of a trade. Try to erase some conflicts.
she tries to anticipate to solidify her name.
she tries to make an emotional effort.

meghan in the next few days/week:

there is someone coming with bad news or communicating their emotions and losses. In the professional aspect we have good news.

there is a secret here, a decision on the part of the BRF where the BRF is aware of something secret which is obviously very disturbing.
We study a situation (popess + hanged man) that is linked to justice, equity. We end with the sun = positive.

I admit I don't understand the propagation

Latest summing up of February from
https://brf-rumortrackinganon.tumblr.com/

Meghan gets the Daily Mail to write about her luscious and healthy hair.

Meghan helps Mayhew open a new facility, named after her friend/dog trainer, via a virtual video. Meghan and Mayhew parted ways in 2022 so there something very odd going on. Supposedly Meghan was asked to be involved because the new facility was built with donations from the Sussexes.

Meghan has lunch with Claire Wight Kelly at celeb hotpot Cipriani in Beverly Hills. Of course she merches her outfit, which involves a Kate cosplay coat, black top and trousers, and blue shoes. The flash from paparazzi reveals she's staring down the camera with crazy eyes behind her sunglasses. As one does.

The Daily Mail spams us with articles about Meghan and Claire's long friendship. It's a chance to plug her wedding look and tiara photos.

Meghan has dinner with an Oprah associate in Studio City. Of course the paps are there! She merches her handbag this time. That is one tragic pair of pants.

Meghan's PR hypes up a 'return to the royal playbook' with the Mayhew visit, boosting speculation of half in/half out.

There's a PR-planted story about how William would let Harry back if Harry apologizes first. (I'm not sure whose PR this one is from, since it's very clearly not William, not after last weekend's story. It sounds like it could be the Sussexes trying to manifest something since olive branches/apologies are their thing.)

Tarot reading for him (it's all about love, love, love!)

Path (choice or unconscious)
6 of Cups
Well-being, harmony without effort or strain, ease, satisfaction, happiness, success, fulfilment of sexual will, beginning of steady increase, vanity, presumptiousness, thanklessness
He wants a happy relationship that is easy and that can happily accomodate her narcissism, to put it bluntly! Although, I think they are both vain, presumptious and thankless!

Ahead (what happens next)
Princess of Cups
Woman who is gracious, sweet, voluptuous, gentle, kind, romantic, dreamy, also can be indolent, selfish, luxurious
No way do the positive aspects describe her! Is she going to put on an act to try and keep him? The negative aspects ring true for her. Is this another woman, and he is soon going to have an affair?

Destination (where he ends up)
2 of Cups
Harmony, intense joy and ecstasy, pleasure, warm friendship, mirth, could also be folly, dissipation, waste
This is the happy relationsip/marriage card; commitment to a person you love, marriage. They are either going to have a really good honeymoon period or he is going to have an affair. There is a 'young and reckless' feel to this card.

Surrounding (environment)
Ace of Swords
Invoked force, conquest, strength through trouble, sword of wrath, punishment, infliction, can be taking up the fight to uphold justice
Same card for her 'path'. So it seems his life is going to be dominated by whatever battle she undertakes. It seems he is going to be dragged into her battles. Whatever, it is, it is going to cause trouble but they will try to portray it as a fight for justice.

Secret (hidden from him or deception from him)
The Universe XXI
End of the matter, crystallization of the whole matter, synthesis, delay, opposition, inertia, perseverance, patience
Implies some kind of ending or final decision, which can have positive and negative aspects. Since most cards are cups, this would be related to love and relationships. Intriguing card here with complex meanings!

Others (people in his environment)
10 of Cups
Pursuit of pleasure crowned with perfect success but incomplete, matters arranged and settled as wished, lasting success, peacemaking and generosity, could be dissipation, debauchery, pity, waste, stagnation
Seems to me he is going to be mixing with 'perfect' couples, but there is probably some 'hard partying' happening behind closed doors. So busy partying on yachts that work is neglected?

Goal (what he thinks he wants)
Emperor
War, conquest, victory, strife, stability, power, originality, government, energy, ambition, overweening pride, megalomania, rashness, ill-temper
He wants the crown and throne (could in reality be fighting to be appointed Counsellor of State or be a part-time working royal) and is willing to fight for it! He believes that if he has the position, which he thinks he deserves, it will give him stability and power, especially in his marriage.

I found it a bit difficult to make sense of meaning with this reading. Her reading was much clearer and stronger. I wonder if he is using a lot of alcohol and drugs? But I think she may be as well!

Ancient philosophical conundrum - if a liar tells you he's lying, is he telling the truth?

The Harkles are both self-confessed liars - we can't believe anything they say without independent evidence. In almost all instances, there's plenty of evidence that they wouldn't recognise the truth if it bit them. They and their supporters are capable of breath-taking sophistry though.

Concerning her weird gait: a Sinner on SMM has commented that * has claimed to have `done ballet'. Has anyone here seen any reference to this being on her list of `accomplishments'? If it is, it's on a par with her French, or worse still.

To judge by those recent photos, even I, with fewer than 20 lessons behind me, can see her left leg appears to be making an autonomous attempt at a Classical Walk but the rest of her posture is atrocious. We all know she has no sense of rhythm. If she did claim to be a dancer, was it an just excuse for her bunions? All that pointe work, don't you know?

Interesting question about * doing ballet. * apparently did a bit of martial arts and tap dancing - maybe not for very long - but I can't see any references to ballet except this which I found in Reddit:

I think if she'd done ballet, she'd move much more gracefully and would walk better. Remember, Diana did ballet and dreamt of being a ballet dancer but she was too tall, it's not a stretch to imagine * said she did ballet too if only for a few months or a year.
Sandie said…
@WBBM
I was educated at a Catholic (convent) school for 5 years. Piano lessons, ballet lessons, drama lessons (maybe even tap classes) ... all part of the compulsory extra-curricula activities, along with various sports. So, it is possible she endured a year of basic ballet classes as part of the curriculum. Her avid supporters have made much out of nothing. Being taught some basics does not make you anything special in such an environment (I vaguely remember some foot positions and poses at the bar). And, yes, all children are expected to take part in 'performances' of some kind, so she was not 'picked' because of any talent. At my school, we put on a performance of Jesus Christ Superstar and I was given a singing part even though I did not take singing lessons and really am not a great singer. Luckily the part required only a couple of lines of singing, which I managed to pull off, watched with scepticism and some embarrassment by my older sister in the front row. In retrospect, those nuns were rather radical to stage a production of what many Christians regard as a controversial, if not blasphemous, spectacle! I remember having to walk past a group of scary fanatics when as an adult I went to see the production in Cape Town.

Calling the ordinary exceptional seems to be a peculiar pathology that flourishes in America. The wife embraced such pathology with much enthusiasm from a young age.

I still think she should have behaved herself, kept her mouth shut, taken better care of her skin, and she could have got some nice deals being the 'face' of some major perfume, make up, hair product brands. Being papped would be obligatory for such a role, invitations to the Met Gala and Oscars would have been probable, and she could have built herself up a nice little nest egg by now.
----------

I am still working on the tarot reading interpretation for the marriage. It is more of a struggle than the reading I did for him with all the layers of deception ... self-deception, deceiving each other, deceiving the public.

The main information in this article is that despite having this major deal with Netflix, hapless signed a deal with a rival company to make an Invictus Games documentary, that was all about him speaking about himself ...

----------
Prince Harry's Invictus Games documentary has dropped on Hulu – in which the Duke of Sussex talks about his family, and how important the games are to him.

In news which seems to be a slap in the face for rival streamer Netflix, where he has a five-year deal, an unannounced one-off show began streaming on their Disney-owned rivals Sunday.

Called Prince Harry's Mission: Life, Family and the Invictus Games it is based on interviews given by Harry to ABC News when he was in Whistler, Canada, promoting the games.

The one-episode show is an 'ABC News special.' It includes his reflection: 'I love my family' made on February 16th and Harry disclosing that he was glad to have flown to be by King Charles' side after his cancer diagnosis.

A senior source at Netflix said that he and wife Meghan remain under a contract with them, but appeared to be taken by surprise by the news.

Representatives for Netflix have been contacted for comment.

A senior TV news producer tells me that Harry will have had to know about the use of the interview and will have had to sign a release form to allow ABC to make it into a documentary for Hulu.

Speculation about the status of Harry and Meghan's relationship with the streamer has reached fever pitch after they relaunched their business and charitable ventures under a new 'Sussex.com' website but it failed to mention Netflix by name in the section about Archewell productions.

Sources have told this newspaper that there is dissatisfaction on both sides over the Netflix deal which was signed in late 2020.

Although it was reported to be worth $100 million, in reality the streamer is said to simply be covering the overheads of the production company Archewell to the tune of around $3 million and further income is dependent on the couple delivering projects.

So far, they have delivered the blockbuster Harry & Meghan tell all, plus a documentary about Invictus and its work, Heart of Invictus.

A film adaptation of the romance novel Meet Me At The Lake is also in the works – although there is no script yet and its not clear if the couple have yet even settled on a writer.

Other projects including a TV show and another documentary were said by exec Bela Bejaria earlier this month to be in the 'early early stages' of development.

It's thought that he and Meghan may have only received around $20 million from the streamer so far, all told, with one source close to the relationship saying that the Netflix deal is essentially a dead duck.

Earlier this month, Harry and Meghan travelled to Whistler, Canada, where the 2023 Invictus Games, for wounded servicemen and women, will be held.
In an interview with Will Reeve for ABC News, which is replayed in the Hulu special, Harry said that he quickly made plans to see his father as soon as he learned that the King has cancer.
He said: 'I jumped on a plane and went to go see him as soon as I could. Look, I love my family. The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see him and spend any time with him, I'm grateful for that.'

Harry, 39, declined to comment further on his father's diagnosis, added that he hopes to see Charles again soon, saying, 'I've got other trips planned that will take me through the U.K., or back to the U.K., and so I'll stop in and see my family as much as I can.'

The duke had not seen his 75-year-old father since the Coronation last May. The visit lasted for around half an hour before King Charles and Queen Camilla left for Sandringham, in Norfolk. Harry stayed overnight in an hotel before leaving for California where he now lives.

When asked about the possibility of Charles' illness having a reunifying effect on his own family, Harry replied, 'Yeah, I'm sure,' and reflected on what he has seen firsthand among the families of Invictus athletes.

'Throughout all of these families, I see it on a day-to-day basis,- again, the strength of the family unit coming together,' Harry said. 'So, yeah, I think any illness, any sickness, brings families together. I see it time and time again, and that makes me very happy.'

The Invictus Games were launched in 2014. They are modelled on the Warrior Games, an annual event organized by the US Department of Defense, which Harry attended in 2013.

The first games were in London in 2014 and have taken place since then in Orlando, Toronto, Sydney, Dusseldorf and The Hague.

He spoke with the ABC Team at the One Year to Go Events. It will be the first time that the competition has included winter sports.

In addition to the traditional lineup of sports like indoor rowing, sitting volleyball, swimming, wheelchair basketball and wheelchair rugby, the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler will include alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, skeleton and wheelchair curling.

More than 500 competitors from over two dozen nations are expected to compete during the Games, held from February 8 to 16, 2025.

... I don't think Meghan actually wants to go to the Oscars, the Grammys, the Golden Globes, etc.

I think she loves being associated with that A-List crowd and she loves the idea of us (her adoring public *and* her critical public) thinking she's that popular, influential, famous, wealthy, connected to be "in" with that crowd. But I think she's actually terrified to be physically there with that crowd.

If you look at every public 'engagement' Meghan does, there's always a couple of things in common:

She controls every single thing - how she looks, who she speaks to, who approaches her, what they say to her, how she's photographed, where she's photographed, who's with her, who's next to her, who's taking her picture, so on.

She's the main attraction, the big kahuna - everyone is there to see her, they want to listen to her, they want to shake her hand, they want to hug her, they want to write only about her.

Neither of these are possible when she's in an auditorium full of much more famous, much wealthier, much more connected, much more desirable celebrities than her.

... She doesn't want to wear Carolina Herrera or Hermes readywear when everyone else is wearing hot-off-the-runway Dior, Versace, Prada, etc. She doesn't want to wear Birks when everyone else is dripping in Harry Winston, Cartier, Tiffany's.

And finally, these events are filmed/streamed live. Meghan doesn't like being recorded when she isn't in control. And these are 3-hour, 4-hour long events. She can't keep her mask on for that long, especially when she's being snubbed and ignored by people she thinks should be falling down at her feet. That's why she always hypes up going to the after-parties instead, and why the only events she actually *does* attend are red carpets for private events - there are no cameras at the actual events so she can more easily keep up the "I'm all that and still unbroken!" facade she so desperately wants us to believe.

Plenty more updates, including a long opinion on how to know when it is her PR based on the language used in the article:

@Sandie: Thanks for the reposting of rumortrackinganon. One thing that was left out in the last paragraph page 3 was "actually talented and accomplished actors."

It is a very insightful opinion piece.

Tarot reading for marriage...

Path (choice or unconscious)
The Magus I
Skill, wisdom, adroitness, elasticity, craft, cunning, deceit, theft, sometimes occult wisdom or power, messages, business transactions, learning or intelligence interfering with the matter at hand
Manifestation is a key word associated with this card. It represents the creative force in action. The marriage is a means for them to manifest something; to perform magic to fulfill their dreams and ambitions.

Ahead (what happens next)
9 of Disk
Good luck attending material affairs, inheritance, great increase of wealth, completion of material wealth, consciousness, theft, knavery
So there is going to be some kind of financial windfall for them. This can be through chance or good business management. Considering their circumstances and business dealings in the past years, it is more likely to be chance.

Destination (where marriage ends up)
4 of Wands
Perfected work, settlement, completion after much labour, rest, subtlety, cleverness, conclusions from previous knowledge, unreliability from overanxious and hurriedness of action
This card implies that order is introduced into a creative process. It appeared in her reading in the position of 'others'. I think they are going to have a period of stability on which they can build, and this stability may be due to someone they employ. I see them feeling they have achieved something together in terms of work/business.

Surrounds (environment)
9 of Wands
Power, health, success after opposition or strife, tremendous force, recovery from illness, victory after apprehension and fear, 'change is stability'
This may give an indication of the kind of people they are going to be socialising with. But, it could be the royal family: death of the king and succession of William, recovery of Charles and Catherine, staying strong and stable despite attacks from duo? It also implies that the environment is very challenging for the duo and that to maintain stability they must surrender to required changes. It could mean that staff have been pushed to their limits and without change to the working evironment, everything collapses.

Secret (hiding from others or themselves)
4 of Cups
Weakness, abandonment to desire, pleasure mixed with anxiety, blended success and pleasure possibly approaching their end, injustice, treachery, ill will, sadness, vain regret
Love/the relationship has been 'poisoned' by excess. They have either 'normalized' toxicity in the relationship and are ignoring the problem or/and they are putting on an act for others. Depression, dissatisfaction, stagnant emotions, trouble brewing, escape through shopping, alcohol, drugs (materialism) are all associated with this card.

Others (people in their environment)
7 of Wands
Energy feels itself at last gasp, struggles, possible victories, obstacles and difficulties yet courage to meet them, victory in small things, quarreling
Everyone in their orbit ends up in fights with them, or has their courage and resilience tested to its limits, feeling as if they are fighting a losing battle,
pressured to surrender to their demands against their better judgment. They exhaust the people around them, even family who have little or no contact with them.

Goal (primary driving force of the marriage)
Empress III
Love, beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, fruitfulness, good fortune, graciousness, elegance, gentleness, dissipation, debauchery, idleness, sensuality
The goal of their marriage is to raise her status, to fulfill her dreams, to give her whatever she wants, to make her happy, to indulge her pleasure in material things. The empress is incarnate womanhood, in the physical sense.

In his reading, his goal is to be emperor: to have power, stability and status, and go to war if necessary. But the goal of the marriage is actually about raising her status, giving her abundance, and portraying her as the ultimate mother figure.

I found that opinion on why she does not actually want to go to the Oscars fascinating, but it has a ring of truth to it. She hated not being 'the empress' in the royal family. She could not cope with being surrounded by A-listers when she has achieved nothing. If she could appear on stage in the most lavish, expensive gown ever, give a long speech and present an award, then, surrounded by bodyguards and hapless standing a step behind her, graciously hug gushing A-listers afterwards, she would want to be there. Surely she does not dream of actually getting one of these awards?

In the midst of the fractured relationship between Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and the wider Royal Family, the Montecito-based family could be coming to the UK in a few months' time.

I did not watch that short documentary they made in Canada. The link is for an excellent review of it. I did not realize how bad it is. It is all about them, mostly him, including his crusade against the British media. It is an attack on the family, including the King. They knew the King has cancer when he gave these interviews. They also mention George, Charlotte and Louis, without titles, but call their children prince and princess. They are deranged. I am glad I did not see this before I interpreted the tarot readings as I would have had a lot more bias.

This is os a shorter, actually more informative review of the documentary (all 20 minutes of it). It is really bad in terms of the attack on his family. As I said earlier, this was when they knew the King has cancer and Catherine was in hospital for a serious operation.

May I remind everyone that William gave a huge donation to IG. The duo spend the money, but never donate a dime.

Please no, we don't want them in the UK even for a short while. An Express article first states "A source claimed 2024 could see Meghan Markle return to the UK"... and then "But now a source has come out and said that Meghan will join her husband" etc. A few other sites mentions 'this one' but not TBW.
We don't want the event turned into a circus/fashion show with * in tow.

Opus,

I was 15 when Charles and Diana announced their engagement. Like millions here across the Pond, I was captivated by the shy nursery school aide who had captured the heart of a Prince, and was just a few years older than myself. “The fairytale of the century” their love story was proclaimed. Here in the former colonies we may have cast off the yoke of allegiance to Charles’ great-great-something grandfather George III but we’ve never lost our fascination with princesses and the pageantry of Royalty. The Royals sell nearly as well here than they do at home. Maybe better—we can admire the pageantry and vicariously witness all the human dramas of the Royal family without being taxed to support them or expected to pay obeisance to them. The late Queen had legions of admirers here, but it was the advent of Diana on the scene that really made the BRF a source of fascination to a wide demographic of Americans. I work as a children’s librarian and the number one request from little girls is Disney Princess books (followed at a distant second by unicorns). And Diana personified a fairy tale princess to the world in those early days. Even though the bedrock of American philosophy is self-determination—that each person can transcend humble beginnings to shape their own destiny—we are still suckers for a Cinderella story, in which the lowliest can be elevated to her true station by the power of love and a bit of magic. An Earl’s daughter from one of the oldest blue blood families in England who grew up on a massive estate as a neighbor of the Royal family wasn’t exactly sleeping in the ashes of a fireplace but when we first met Di, she didn’t seem like an aristocrat, but a regular relatable young woman living an uncomplicated single girl life. 19 was so very young to get sucked into the vortex of marriage and motherhood on a global stage. Over that period between the engagement and the wedding, I compiled two fat scrapbooks full of press clippings and magazine articles devoted to this faux fairytale and my mother and I arose in the darkness at 4AM our time to view the wedding.

Her groom was significantly less captivating at the time. It’s Charles I really intended to write about and this was prologue so bear with me.

Part 2

I knew very little about the Prince of Wales at the time apart from the fact that he was destined to be King and after cutting a swathe through many eligible ladies was deemed to be getting long in the tooth for marriage by Royal standards and was universally deemed. at 32, to be too old for his teenage fiancée. But it had to be true love, right? So the age gap to such a charming and beautiful young lady was immaterial…so we thought. Of course now that we know what we know. “Whatever love means” was Charles’ resignation to his fate, as was his demeanor at the wedding. Walking up the very long aisle of St. Paul’s, he had all the excited anticipation of what was coming like a condemned man walking to his execution. We saw what we wanted to see at the time, but even HMTQ looks in retrospect like she knew this was a very bad decision in progress. But the machinery of the fairy tale pageant rolled on—still the most watched global television event in history. We wanted to believe in the fairy tale so much.

Of the personality or work of the Prince of Wales up to that point, I knew very little. The relentless mocking of his appearance from his bald spot to his ears seemed really unfair as was him being compared to Methuselah next to his bride. Now that I am well past 32 myself, I know how prime an age that is. Lady Diana was too Immature for marriage but that wasn’t due to her tender age alone.

During the War of the Waleses I took Diana’s side as did most folks who didn’t have personal knowledge of the situation or the principals. When it emerged that Charles was exceedingly jealous that Diana had eclipsed him on the Australian tour, my usually taciturn father who had no vested interest in the RF at all exclaimed “He’s an a**h***. “ We didn’t even know about Camilla at that point—he was incredulous, as were we all, that Charles wasn’t proud that his wife was so embraced by the world and relieved that she could share in the burden of global press attention that he’d been shouldering since childhood. A loving and secure husband would have rejoiced in his wife’s success and thought of it as an asset to them both as well as to the Firm…but we now have a better understanding of how Diana could be—relishing her star power at the expense of her husband the future King just a bit too much. I recall the time when he was addressing the crowd at an official reception on one of the Aussie tours, I believe. Diana was pulling faces from her seat and making the crowd titter at her husband’s expense and it was really quite disrespectful and purposely done to discomfort him. He had to turn around to see what everyone was laughing at and he was quite put out to discover his wife had been mugging behind his back. That was some petty showboating for attention from Diana and it’s hard to imagine Catherine ir Mary of Denmark pulling that business. Diana meant it to be cute but it just felt mean and I was a fan of hers at the time.

As Time Passes and We Get Older

I started thinking about how time passes when reading some of the articles about the birthday.  It was interesting to think about it from the different points of view.  Besides, it kind of fits as a follow up the last post (the whole saga of can the two brothers reunite). So there is the requisite article about how he will be getting all kinds of money willed to him from his great-grandmother.  There were stories about Princess Anne as trustee (and not allowing earliest access to it all).  Whether or not any or all of this is true (there was money for him and/or other kids) has been debated with claims she actually died owing money with the Queen paying the debts to avoid scandal.  Don't know but I seem to remember that royal estates are shrouded from the public so we may not (ever) know. However, strange things like assisting in a book after repeated denials have popped up in legal papers so nothing is ever really predicable.   We are also seein...

The Opening Act of New Adventures in Retail

I keep thinking things will settle down to the lazy days of spring where the weather is gorgeous and there is a certain sense of peacefulness.  New flowers are coming out. increasing daylight so people can be outside/play and thinking gardening thoughts.  And life is quiet.  Calm. And then something happens like a comet shooting across the sky.  (Out of nowhere it arrives and then leaves almost as quickly.)   An update to a law suit.  Video of the website is released (but doesn't actually promote any specific product which can be purchased from the website).  A delay and then jam is given out (but to whom and possible more importantly - who did not make the list?).  Trophies almost fall (oops).  Information slips out like when the official date of beginning USA residency.  (now, isn't that interesting?)
