Sometime within the next seven days, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will release a new photo of their little-seen son Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, according to an article in the Sunday Times (quoted in the Sun, with no paywall).
It tickles the imagination to think about what this image might look like, particularly considering the Sussexes' passion for Photoshop.
The classic Archie photos - the ones used again and again in British tabloids, including the link above - were taken in South Africa in September 2019, a good 7 1/2 months ago.
The little red-haired fellow in those images looked healthy and well-fed, although entirely uninterested in the two people who were supposedly his parents.
None of the nuzzling or the seeking of comfort or approval that infants usually display with their primary caregivers, or people they know and like. (Prince Charles' recent image with his grandson Prince Louis is a good example)
Will the birthday images show the same little human? (At the time, there were suggestions that the South Africa Archie was a baby model, with exclusive rights purchased for a full year by the Sussexes. For what it's worth, South Africa has a thriving modeling community used frequently by European catalog producers who want a variety of ethnic types in their campaigns.)
It wasn't entirely clear if the same infant was pictured in the uber-Photoshopped Sussex family Christmas card or in Harry's recent Canada shot with Archie. (The Canada shot looked a lot like a little girl.)

She showed him two of the Sussexes' Christening photos and he said, "Those are two different babies."

Or will Archie be in the grounds of a lavish estate where the Sussexes want people to think they live?
And will both parents be with him in the shot? There have been rumors, based on the white-wall videos, that Harry may be at least part-time in the UK while Meghan is in California.

Harry is in LA with Meghan. He was papped out with her in LA on three separate days. The videos they have done seem to have been done in the same building if not the same room and the only surprise there is that they appear to have left Canada earlier than was reported. I doubt that in the time of lockdown he has been jetting back and forth between wherever TP claims he is in the UK and LA to be papped with Meghan.
If Archie is not in LA with Harry and Meghan where do you think he is? In the real world, people do not have children taken away from them arbitrarily, especially if you have the money to legally stop that from happening. Archie is probably spending more time with a nanny than with his parents, but he is in LA with them.

I saw that video and it was definitely her sitting next to him. I have a memory of seeing a video from that same occasion from a different angle showing some kind of awkward exchange between them but can't remember what it was. Her babbling away, talking with her hands and him ignoring her?
It is very odd that a couple supposedly so in love (adoring looks, holding hands .. all the time) and they have these awkward very public moments of him 'telling her off' in a way that seems very bad tempered and bossy, and the rest of the time lets her treat him like a dog on a leash. He never showed that in public before with anyone else? Sulking, drunk and stupid ... yes, but openly telling off a girlfriend? Even Charles and Diane at their worst never had public moments like that!
I have seen the same interactions with toxic co-dependent relationships and as long as they stay together they bring out and support the 'worst' in each other.

The video does not convince me, and I am highly suspicious of anyone making those kind of conclusions from a video that has been heavily manipulated. Let's wait until we see photographs of Meghan where she is showing her face fully, from different angles, in natural light, before we give support to the story that someone, bored in lockdown, has made up.

The Sussex saga reminds me of the bitter custody battle actress Kelly Rutherford faced trying to get primary custody of her children. Like Meg, Kelly is an obscure actress that married a younger European millionaire. Like Meg, Kelly never made it in Hollywood but she tends to play the rich, elegant wife/mother. Kelly's greatest success was a supporting role on the TV show Gossip Girl.
When Kelly became pregnant with her second child, she got her husband deported and filed a restraining order against him. She was fierce in trying to keep primary custody, but the courts kept siding with her ex-husband. At one point, she got joint custody but because her husband could not enter the United States, she had to fly to France and Monaco to see her children. She filed for custody both in California and New York and both courts said they had no jurisdiction over her custody battle. She filed bankruptcy because of the massive legal costs.
I also believe the repercussions of Covid-19 on international travel will make courts favor keeping Archie or any child of globe-trotting parents to live on one continent preferably one country.
I will be interested to see what happens with the Sussexes when it comes to the custody of Archie. I've never sensed a maternal instinct in Meg and I would personally be happier if Archie remained with the BRF. Harry may not be prime father material but I think with him, Archie will have a better network of courtiers and family members to give him a fighting chance of happiness.

As for the custody battle, I'm not pretending to be a legal expert and I hope I don't cause a problem bringing it up. I know there are different issues that can play out if H&M divorce but I just saw some parallels with Kelly Rutherford's case. When the Sussex saga unravels, I'm expecting a huge train wreck.

I think there is a baby, however the paternity is in question, as are many other details. I think the grand plan to tease the public into a frenzy in order to cash in has backfired. If they are releasing the pictures on any social media, why would a tabloid or any credible news source pay for them? There is money to be made from clicks, but not from Instagram. Clicks don't even pay what they once did. She would have to arrange sponsorships and modeling gigs... if Archie is used to model or sponsor anything and paid in the US, there are very strict child labor laws. They would have to set aside a substantial amount as his income in trust for him when he becomes an adult. Additionally, the amount that can legally be skimmed from a child's income is 10% as management and reasonable expenses for food, shelter, education, and medical expenses.

The latter echoes what @Lurking says above ...in a nutshell, being so mysterious about Archie was supposed to increase his value but it has probably done the opposite (and Megsy probably over-estimated his value anyway).
@Lurking I am not sure about the timeline of the videos from the basketball game but I have seen a full one and he definitely ignores her and she definitely gets annoyed about that. It's like she is sitting there with everyone around her talking to each other but no one talking to her, even when she tries to engage. It may seem benign, but when you see it in the overall context of her treating him like a puppy dog, then you can see she cannot handle being ignored, no matter what the reason is.
Omid Scobie has a very sycophantic writing style (and still keeps calling her Duchess Meghan) but I do not know about the other author. There is a lot of noise being made about the book, but unless it reveals some scandals not heard of before, it will be like 50 Shades of Grey: millions bought it and then took it to second-hand stores (there were literally piles and piles of the book that no one even wanted as a giveaway ... certainly most did not want to keep a copy on their bookshelf).
I have now heard from two not always accurate but with a very high reliable score that Meghan is going to lose the Duchess title. I'll believe it when I see it!

I don't really buy the stories of Harry cheating. I think the stories are coming out from Meg herself. Harry has been dogged with cheating rumors in all his relationships and I think Meg wants to leverage that for victimhood spin. If Harry is stepping out on her, I think it's because Harry and Meg have an "open" relationship like a lot of Hollywood and it is with her permission. Doria is a part-time yoga instructor. Yes, she works with elderly clients in care facilities. But I'm pretty certain those facilities have temporarily halted activities led by outsiders. And even if they haven't for some irresponsible reason, that hardly makes Doria a "frontline worker" on par with the medical staff working day in and day out with actively sick people.
I agree entirely. The Christmas picture of Archie is creepy in sort of dark way, his face distorted, head elongated, black and white giving it Addams family feel.
Whoever took the pic, edited it and thought it was great, has a disturbing view of the world.
MM managed to get her hands on an n-95 mask for the meal delivery, but Harry didn't have one. My work had to reuse the n-95s that we had. I am not at all surprised she had an n-95 for herself and was photographed in it, while emergency room nurses go without. She's selfish, and I think she enjoyed showing it off.
But like @Barbara and @Glowworm I don't think the point of the recent article was about M's feet. And if her feet hadn't been shown close up before in articles because of her ill-fitting or dirty shoes which are under her control, the latest article wouldn't seem over the top IMO.
We all have challenges with our natural hair, some much more vexing than others. But what drives me nuts about M's hair are those dangling side pieces that are always falling in her face. The purpose of the ASW registration (not really a true license) is to allow recent graduates to obtain 3,000 hrs of supervised practice needed to apply for the LCSW. Most people do that in about 2 years although the initial registration is for 3. The higher license also requires passage of a national exam.
As an ASW these rules apply.

Since his birth, Megsy has timed announcements and the release of photographs for the American market, so it will be many more hours before anything will be released. Since they do not have any social media account or website that they can use, I assume that she has either brokered an exclusive deal with some media outlet or she will use Omid Scobie as a channel to preferred outlets.

But, Megsy lives with cognitive dissonance every day, so maybe she can square that circle somehow.
This young woman is going into psychology as a profession and says she practices yoga and is a feminist, thinking that she and MM have some things in common. MM wouldn't even speak to her if it wasn't for the free PR she got for the little stunt.
MM hasn't shown any real feminist traits. Feminism does not include getting jobs though sexual advances toward men, climbing the ladder by using men, and yachting as an early career. Somebody needs to speak to this young woman about what real feminism really is, and how to choose who you want to emulate in your life and career.
It's also concerning that she's going into psychology as a career and can't spot a person with deeply ingrained personality and psychological issues. She will need to learn so much before she can help someone else with their own mental issues. She doesn't realize that she was used by MM as a PR tool? How will she be able to help anybody with a narc in the family or with the psych issues that MM and Harry have displayed, including their abhorrent treatment of their own families and of Harry's home country?
This is what MM's fan base is like. Young, supposedly woke, and with little life experience to spot a potentially dangerous and damaged person. I wish her well and hope that she gains a lot of wisdom before she begins to handle patients.

However, I have heard that often (or stereotypically) people who need help themselves are attuned to the field of psychology. A large part of the work is to do a "case file" on yourself, so she should have the opportunity to realistically see herself and her tendencies. I am sure that field is not easy....and if she is too vulnerable/weak she would probably burn out pretty quick..

As for the USA, when you think about the money end of it, the original Kindle price is a list price of $27.99 but order now for $14.99 (that $13 is a big chunk of the $28). Hardback is not so generous (list is $27.99 to $25.19).
And, it isn't like the kindle version cannot be dropped off at the used book store for some pennies or pile up in the resale shops.

I think "Goodnight Moon" is so low on the list because many mothers save it to give to their children, and it's passed along to the next generation. It's such a beloved book that people either give their copy to a newly pregnant friend or keep it for their children when they grow up.
Look at the quality of the books that are below Scobie's book. Except for Paul Cohelo's book, which is free on Overdrive, the aren't very admirable books.
