Cliff Hanger

Deadlines for responses have passed.

Will they show?  Won't they show?

And, rumors of demands for money to cross hands to make appearances (new level of pay to play).

Such drama.  You would think this was a soap opera where every episode ends with a crazy cliff hanger story plot to drive the next installment.

Sadly, I don't expect it to change any time soon either.  No.  For them, there appears to be way too much energy left in the will they, won't they to end it now even though everyone else is pretty much tired of it.  Hardly something one can point to and claim that they are trying to reconcile with those who feel distressed about what was printed.

Just noticed something: remember that talk of trying to reach out and reconcile after the book, etc.?  It seems to have drifted away, hasn't it?  Hmm.  Interesting.  I wonder if that is recognized as a total lost cause or just delayed into the summer (or fall) campaign (could be harder to pull off now that they will no longer have Frog Cott as a base).

So put on your seatbelts as the next thirty days will be a crazy roller coaster ride -  likely filled with lots of drama filled twists and turns.

It seems that they just need to make sure people talk about them. It doesn't matter whether it's good or bad, in fact bad serves their purpose as it reinforces the'idea they're victims. We're never really sure what to expect and in a way, we're playing their games by wondering what they're up to and what their next move will be. It's always a case of wait and see. In just four weeks we'll be able to see the extent of their plotting. I doubt they're going to go quietly.

Easter Sunday ... Windsor Castle ... royals going to church at St George's, including all three of William and Catherine's children. Will this be the first time they have gathered there since the late Queen's funeral?

How will the Montecito duo try to grab the spotlight? Keeping in mind that there is a time difference so they will have to hustle all day Friday and Saturday, their time, to dominate the tabloids in the UK Sunday morning. My guesses:

* Christening photos of Princess Lilli.
* Any video of the children, and then the duo hiding Easter eggs for them while they are asleep.
* Another pap walk at a restaurant for the rich and famous (the most boring option).
* Or, one of her favourites, a shopping trip in Montecito.

Of course, the biggest scoop would be a statement about their attendance at the coronation ... the most sensational would be a grandiose statement about why they will not be attending the coronation, with lots of mention of Diana. That would be guaranteed to hurt Charles, and the rest of the family, as they attend a service in the chapel where the late Queen is entombed, beside her beloved Phillip.

Maybe they will surprise me and show some decency.

I can not see them not attending the coronation. It is critical fuel for their narcissism and their bank account. They would gain nothing from staying home in California. Maybe she plans the relaunch of her blog for that day (or the day before), but that story would be buried in the UK and, hopefully, in the US as well. Even using Archie’s birthday as a distraction would fall flat.

@Sandie
I’m sure they’ll planning something suitably high-visibility and irritating for Easter Sunday. Sigh.

What is king Charles's great idea of a modern, "all inclusive" coronation?

No coronets, no robes, no tiaras, no anything special. Just very mundane congregation in their charmless sunday bests?

And this congregation he plans to lord over with his HOLY oil, his crown, sceptre and orb, his train of velvet and ermine fur, his golden robe, his page boys with their historical costumes and little swords?!?

(And ALL THIS for his lady too?)

It seems that baron Kilkeel is not going to be the only farcical element in the event!

Just for balance: The last coronation in Denmark was 183 years ago (1840 Christian VIII), in Sweden 150 years ago (1873 Oscar II) and in Norway 117 years ago (1906 Haakon VII). Coronations with holy oils seemed outdated in Scandinavia a very long time ago.

I have respect for the British monarchy and I hope that this coronation is not going to look VERY outdated and ridiculous.

Off topic ... this is a fascinating thread consisting of Americans sharing their tiaras (not real jewels, but sparkly nonetheless), which they plan to wear while watching the coronation (wearing pjs). The fake tiaras are often copies of royal tiaras but sometimes a new creative design. I didn't realise that cheap/cheapish costume tiaras have a market in America, but I love it. When I e5in the Lotto, I am definitely getting myself a tiara!

On the face of it, this seems unfair, but this is how royalty works. At the time that hapless met and married the controller, he was heavily and richly subsidised by his father from Duchy of Cornwall income. This funding would inevitably stop when Charles became king as William would then be in control of that income and he would only be allowed to use that income for himself and his heirs, not his brother.

The king could then use income from the Duchy of Lancashire (plus private wealth) to subsidise his second son. However, the King still had the late Queen's cousins and his siblings to support to some degree, plus charitable donations to make, so he would not have unlimited funds to hand over to hapless and his growing family, especially with her obvious grandiose spending habits, when it came to herself. As for the private wealth that he inherited from his mother ... most of that would be preserved for the next monarch, but that income was also needed to pay for charitable contributions and to maintain private properties and cover personal spending ...

The duo could have lived very well if they had stayed:
* Free housing in a secure estate, with maintenance taken care of.
* Free 24/7 top-notch security.
* Staff and all office expenses, travel and clothing for official engagements all paid for out of the Sovereign Grant.
* Free holidays at Balmoral and Sandringham, plus various other properties that the King privately owns.
* Free publicity and media coverage through the royal rota.
* Personal income from the Diana inheritance.

The monarch of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth realms is the only who is also head of the church, and the monarchy is the oldest in Europe. (It also still considers abdication as a breaking of an oath.) However, it is interesting that it is the only monarchy in Europe that still has a coronation instead of an inauguration, although some of the 12 present monarchies in Europe have never had a coronation.

Note that the Pope is considered a 'monarch', but Paul VI declined to wear the papal tiara, John Paul II declined to use the portable throne, and since Benedict XVI, there has been an inaugaration and not a coronation.

I suspect that the transition from coronation to inaugaration will speed up considerably when William accedes to the throne. But it is not necessarily a good thing. A monarch is not a president, and like life, fate plays a big role in what kind of monarch you are going to have, and some must be endured in the hope that the next one will be a good one (they mostly are). However, this kind of thinking is completely alien to the young modern world of entitlement, and influencers, and cancelling, and 'gender fluidity' ... and increasing facism.

Coronation: the ceremony of crowning a sovereign or a sovereign's consort

Inauguration: the formal admission of someone to office

Maybe it is because Sandie is American and in the vastness of that continent where at least to our ears everyone sounds more or less the same that she is offended by Harry's mimicry (which was doubtless intended to mock) of the Indian clippie. Europe has far more accents by way of different languages and mimicry is common but one needs to be good at it and most are not. Every one does Michael Caine and Roger Moore and Sean Connery and each of those three is British. Indian accents as done (badly) are largely indistinguishable from Welsh accents. Imitating someone in mockery makes oneself sound stupid and is thus best avoided. Siobhan Thompson of Youtube's Anglophenia does no less than seventeen British accents: such a hottie she.

Harry 'infuriated' when King Charles said he could not pay for Meghan
dailymail.co.uk

It is juicy! I already knew virtually everything in the article, but it was a great refresher. A couple fun tidbits for those who haven't yet read the article:

- "Harry, for his part, phoned her (Her Majesty) regularly from California. But it troubled the Queen when he kept trying to air his grievances. In the end, she asked him to speak directly to his father instead." How dare he trouble his elderly ill monarch with his infantile complaints.

- "That didn't work out either. Prince Charles simply stopped taking Harry's calls after his son swore at him and repeatedly asked for funds." This is outrageous conduct. I would doubt that any Nutty has ever, in their lives, aimed a swear at their parents, nor demanded money.

- "When the Queen asked Charles why he hadn't given in, he told her that he wasn't a bank." Hurrah for Charles!

It is obvious to me that Harry promised the WORLD to Meghan before marriage, because he had himself never been denied anything, ever. He thought wrongly that no-one would ever deny him anything in future. When H & M couldn't hack being working Royals and fled to North America, QEII and Charles refused to be unending banks, and that must've been a huge shock to both H & M. It never occured to either of them that one must work in exchange for unending pay and increasing wealth. And that if one doesn't want to see one's bad deeds splashed on the front pages, then don't do the bad deeds. Harry's bad deeds had always been hidden by agreement with the press through pressure from the Palace, while Meghan's bad deeds pre-Harry were of no interest to the press since she was a non-entity.

M & H still don't understand that without an active connection and interaction with his royal family 6,000 miles away, they are non-entities. I don't think they are ever going to come to terms with this.

Opus,

IIRC, Sandie is from the Commonwealth and not American. I am (Midwestern variant) and I can assure you that out vast continent (shared with Mexico and Canada) has a great many regional accents. Generally it seems that British actors who lack confidence in their ability to do American tend to play it safe with a broad Southern drawl straight out of Gone With the Wind—the Atlanta accent is, I was reliably informed by my Shakespeare professor l, quite close to what a Midlands accent sounded like in Shakespeare’s time. An actor in a King Lear adaptation had made this interesting choice— he was British, not from Georgia— much to the hilarity of us all. The other accent favored by Brit thespians is the New Yawk Goodfellas accent. The effort really pokes through with that one. Generally broadcasters are trained in a general Midwestern sort of presentation. The national news anchors are speaking our equivalent of RP. But this accent, being basically featureless is hard to recreate for non-natives. Christian Bale and Kate Winslet both do excellent American. Bale takes it a step further and even conducts interviews at length in American.

Harry’s wife’s brand of Southern Californian is very typical and really not that distinguishable from the brand of American I speak. She did spend some years in Chicago at school and many years in Canada so that may have had an influence. I’ve listened to old interviews with Harry, pre-TBW,and his style of speech has remained consistent. What will have changed is less his accent and more his vocabulary. Language is dynamic and we all mimic what we hear when learning it…I suppose H will get more Americanized the longer he squats here…it’s what he’s always wanted— to live in Disneyland and go to McDonald’s every day. Sadly for us, we don’t want him here but it appears we are stuck with him. And her, God help
us.

The duo relentlessly put out the story that he was the Queen's favourite, and he himself said he 'protected' her and she told him things she did not tell anyone else. What a load of whoppers. The truth is that the late Queen was as sharp as a tack until the end, and was famous for rolling her eyes, which I am sure she did a lot of when she was told her grandson was on the phone. A whiny petulant grandson always asking for money and speaking in pretentious word salad was definitely not her favourite kind of person.

______________________________________________________________

I thought I was a very informed Catholic until you said "...the Pope is considered a Monarch:. So I searched and found "The Vatican, however, operates as an elective absolute monarchy, due to the oath of celibacy Catholic priests take in the pathway to becoming a pope." The Pope as we know is the Head of the Church and the Church's absolute monarchy.

Since the Roman Catholic Church has operated since the 1st century, it IS the longest monarchy in Europe. Also the Vatican city-state is the smallest country in the world and 1 of 7 absolute monarchies in the world (most of the rest being in the Arabian Penisula.)

A papal coronation is the formal ceremony of the placing of the papal tiara on a newly elected pope. The first recorded papal coronation was of Pope Nicholas I in 858. The most recent was the 1963 coronation of Paul VI, who soon afterwards abandoned the practice of wearing the tiara.

The Vatican operates many of the same governmental functions as any other country. They mint euros, print stamps, issue passports and licence plates. They even have state media outlets.

One key government function missing from the Vatican is taxation. The city has no taxes, no restrictions on imports or exports and there are no customs fees. Employees do not pay income tax and there is no duty tax on imports. Without taxes, how does the Vatican financially survive? You!

The sales of stamps, coins, souvenirs and entry tickets fund the Vatican. With 5 million people a year visiting the Vatican, and the most basic entry tickets costing 16 euro each, that’s a cool 80 million a year they’re making. Minimum. We think they’re probably doing alright without public taxes.

Additionally, the clergy living in the Vatican have a very modest paycheque. Many of them take vows of poverty when they become priests. The Pope is not paid at all for his work!

Though the population of the Vatican is approximately 800, on 450 of those people hold Vatican citizenship.

The Vatican has bi-lateral relationships with many countries. Here we must acknowledge the difference between Vatican City and the Holy See. As Vatican City is not a democracy, it is not recognised in most international organisations. The Holy See, however, is the name given to the sovereign entity capable of diplomatic relationships

Without the Holy See it is unlikely the Vatican would have gained country status. To be a country a place must hit eight criteria. One of these criteria requires the acknowledgement by other countries. The Holy See’s involvement in diplomatic relationships is key to receiving this recognition.

All members of the United Nations recognise the Holy See; however, the Holy See does not recognise the People’s Republic of China. They do recognise Palestine, Taiwa

What kind of wife undermines her husband by getting him to believe this about his family? Not only does she not understand British humour, but she needs him angry and estranged from his family to control him and leech off him.
On the subject of ancient monarchies, nobody has pointed out yet that the ecclesiastical personnel involved in the Coronation will be wearing garments from times other than these. Cassocks are coats from the middle ages; surplices are descended from the medieval gown. The vestments (alb, dalmatic and chasuble) go back further to the time well before the Western, Latin-speaking, and the Eastern Greek-speaking churches Greek split acrimoniously in the 10thC (IIRC) - probably to everyday dress before Constantine decamped to Constantinople, leaving the Bishop of Rome to look after the Western end of the Church.

I tend not to use the labels `Catholic' and `Orthodox' for the Church at that time - both were catholic and orthodox.

PS I'm relieved that nobody has yet suggested that CR III by crowned by a bloke in sneakers, jeans , sweatshirt and just possibly a dog collar.

I still wonder who Lady C is getting her info from. Who would be close enough to know about such an intimate conversation between ILBW and Todger?

Unverified gossip:

Early on, people were interested in Harry. She had burned a lot of bridges on her climb to supporting actress on a cable series. And people resented that she thought marrying Royalty should automatically put her in line for starring film roles, BUT people were willing to put up with her to get to him, but once they moved to LA and went to a few social events, signed on to these deals and then fucked them up, they stopped getting invitations quickly. Meghan is not just trifling. She is said to be a nasty piece of work. She's always creeping and snooping and leaking shit to the press. She's indiscrete, and people didn't want her around because she was always recording and taking pictures and hitting on wealthy men. And once people learned that Harry is basically her parrot, they stopped giving either of them the time of day. Allegedly. It is highly unlikely that she will ever redeem herself in Hollywood.

Speculation that the relationship is in its end stages, and that the invitation to the coronation was for only hapless, but she planned to gatecrash anyway.

I do not believe the Palace would have sent him an invitation but not her. I do believe that he does want to be there but she is stalling. Why? She is the one who was behind the demands for a family meeting brokered by the archbishop, an apology to her, a balcony appearance, a role in the coronation, a role for the children, a happy birthday Archie ... Who knows what else she will come up with.

She has grabbed herself two awards for May (her alone, and not including husband) and is working on Stereotypes II, so she probably thinks her personal brand is strong right now so she does not need him or the royal family. But, the opportunity to get global attention without having to pay for it is so tempting. Usually she would definitely accompany husband, especially to keep him under her control and to stop the exposure of a public meltdown from him. Now, I don't think she cares.

The entire article is interesting, but the following is specifically about the duo:

----
Sadly, they don’t make folie à deux like they used to. A king once gave up a throne for an American divorcee and lived a life of globe-trotting shame; now, a prince gives up thrice-weekly visits to Knockers nightclub for an American divorcee and lives a life of globe-trotting blame. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are surely the best current example of the FAD, which fascinates us partly because of the comedy gold to be mined in the gaping chasm between what the people involved believe they look like (fearless fighters for freedom and justice) and how they appear to the rest of us (two spiteful toddlers attempting to be bosses of a sandpit).

What’s especially interesting about the folly of the Sussexes is that before they got together they both seemed perfectly OK; she would never win an Oscar and he would never be begged to leave his brain to science, but they were jogging along having a laugh and not bothering anyone. As I wrote in The Spectator last year: ‘People always say “soulmates” like it’s a good thing, but such relationships can easily turn toxic. Individually Harry and Meghan seemed happy enough, neither of them too bright, but both living lush lifestyles they didn’t have to break sweat for. Then they met – and it was attempted murder of the reputation of the royal family. Seeing that the pair are so interested in mental health, I wonder if they understand that they may be – in my layman’s opinion – suffering from both paranoia and persecution complex, and that it might be wise to seek professional help?’

We wasted our money, time, and eagerness to enjoy her show when she began spewing her filth, and one of my loved ones died unexpectedly just days after we went to the show and were shocked by her unwelcome harangues. So the death is tied up, rightly or wrongly, with Bette Midler’s crap.

I metaphorically spit on her.

Opus. we got stuck with the Harkles the least you can do is take Bette Midler and a player to be named later in a trade 😉

Interesting theory. I think she wants to be at the coronation but wants to put up the illusion that she is too busy and doesn’t care but at that last minute the spin will be how Harry can’t face them without her strength blah blah blah. and magically she will come with, sans children of course. or. she won’t go with. claim harry took the kids. announce that the crown has taken custody of her children (cue oprah interview number 2) and that she’s divorcing harry. her way of dealing with phantom kids and how to get out of that predicament. i still think they are hired. saw a Better Homes and Gardens craft publication about a year ago they had a boy that was the spitting image of christmas card archie in one of the pics. photo could have been of a child model and likely taken 6 months prior (to publication and to contract with the harkles)

I apologize 🙂. I meant no disrespect at all. It’s just that at 77 Midler’s voice is nothing close to what it once was. The same was true for Diana Ross at the Jubilee—it was painful watching her perform.

@Golden Retreiver

No problem, you're forgiven. I haven't seen or heard anything of Ms Midler for years, way before Woke. She used to come out with some brilliant wisecracks but it sounds as if those days are over.

It's sad and embarrassing to witness performances from those who don't recognise when it's time to retire gracefully.
Speculation in today's DM:

To post it here will take me too long to `weed' it of photos & other extraneous material Worth a look though.
I should have added that the law already allows Regency to cover when a monarch is too infirm to carry on; I doubt that Charles would abdicate as he will swear an oath in the Coronation ceremony & oaths are seen as permanently binding.

Abdication requires legislation and is the acceptable alternative to beheading when Parliament wants shot of a monarch.

Well, this revelation will feed his whiny victimhood for the rest of his life! Everyone knew that it was the Queen who decided that William could not go to Afghanistan but Harry could, but now it is confirmed and we have the actual details. It was a very well-informed decision on her part.

I think it is unfair for hapless to blame and attack his brother for this, but he will. And there is no one else but the late Queen that hapless can blame, because it was her decision alone. Let's see them try and spin this!
-----

I haven't read the deluge of articles yet but the obstacle to accepting the invitation to the coronation seems to now be about the children. It seems quite odd that their attitude seems to be that if the children are not given a 'role' there is no point in bringing them. How selfish and clueless of them ... the King is their grandfather and as such I am pretty sure he would want to see them and spend time with them.
Don't these idiots who are always looking out for senior royals `breaking protocol' realise that it's the same royals who establish protocols and amend them as the occasion requires?

At one extreme, we stand for the Hallelujah Chorus because, supposedly, George II jumped to his feet. At the other, Prince Philip established sensible dress for naval officers at formal mess nights under sweltering temperatures by exclaiming,

`This, Gentlemen, is bloody ridiculous!'

and proceeding to remove his monkey jacket, starched shirt-front, wing collar and bow tie and to roll up his sleeves, thus instituting a form of shirt-sleeve order at a stroke.

Well, that's the story.

“Still dithering over their Coronation RSVPs, could Harry and Meghan be quibbling over bringing their children?

Demanding that Archie be let in for part of the service (so Prince George doesn’t steal all the limelight) and Lilibet be held up at the Palace window to see the Coronation procession depart would imitate the roles played by Charles and Anne back in 1953.

Whatever the cause of delay, they need to get a move on if they want their names in the order of service. A source says the first draft has been drawn up and proofed and once the King signs off on it then no changes will be possible“

https://archive.is/UMIhC

The coronation is about the King and Queen, and the direct heirs (the Wales family) and the British public. The family in Montecito is irrelevant, but they will make oyt all about them to the very end. I wish someone at the palace would politely tell them to buzz off: 'So, you are not coming? Right, we have room for two guests that we took off the list for the Abbey.'

Twelve new pieces of music. Well that is wonderful and is sure to be very diverse and probably very forgettable. In 1953 with no more - if that - than sixteen months in which to write it, Ben Britten was commissioned to write Gloriana (that's Elizabeth and Essex to those more familiar with the Betty Davis, Eroll Flynn movie with Korngold's wonderful score) which is a three act opera and first given - at Covent Garden - just six days after the Coronation. I doubt we will have amongst twelve pieces anything as impressive. The trouble you see is that if say you write a Coronation anthem you are competing with Purcell and Handel, and if a March with Elgar and Walton. Hiding to nothing, I'd say. Probably safest to limit oneself to an a-capella Motet.

This, 100% this! The phantom children can watch from a closed window, they are not direct heirs and don't need to be seen. Nor do we need any long-lens posed "shushing" shots through windows. The Jubilee was a celebration, this is serious - it's a state occasion (therefore paid for by the UK taxpayer) when we will crown the Sovereign of the nation, not a Windsor family get-together.
VetusSacculi said…
@Opus - I have to agree with you. A coronation anthem by Andrew Lloyd-Webber isn't going to displace Purcell and Handel any time soon.

With that whole thing about A&L needing to be there? If the kids do exist (and I tend to think that A might be a rent kid but that L, IDK, I could go either way), it would be far easier on the kids, the parents, the world to have them watching from a TV screen off stage where they could do something else when they had had enough of it.

The Wales kids have had lots and lots of practice at how to behave in public. The parents have made certain of that.

A&L? not so many opportunities thanks to Daddy's mindset about his childhood.

Kids get bored (and especially if what they are watching has no relevance to them and this is with the short service).

This pomp and circumstance thing is not for bored kids (which would reflect badly on the parents who don't seem to handle criticism well, plus just saying what we all know we would be in ink, worldwide shots, replays). Negative is still fuel but still a very bad look for those who need to show how much better they would do it if they could be in charge. OTOH, wouldn't that make the Wales kids look ever so much better by comparison? doubt that would be the intention but it would be icing on someone's cake, wouldn't it?

What people would remember (the internet never forgets) is how badly the kids acted up (providing they do exist and will attend school, date, interview for some kind of work, apply for college and so on)
... instead of how King Charles finally had his moment to shine. As much as they may dislike the men in gray suits, the gray suits have allegiance to the King and a duty to keep things from marring his day.

The DM has an article entitled 'New details about Prince George's birth are revealed by Kate's gynaecologist'. In fact the article says nothing. An excerpt:

'Sir Marcus Setchell, 79, was joined by two other gynaecologist Alan Farthing and Guy Thorpe-Beest, to deliver the little royal at the Lindo Wing on 22 July 2013.

He has now opened up about the birth, explaining how he snuck into the hospital in the early hours as Kate was admitted at 5am that morning.

The doctor, who delayed his retirement to see Kate through her pregnancy and birth, revealed the royal was admitted to St Mary's Hospital in the early hours of 22 July 2013, giving birth around 12 hours later.'

Obviously, he couldn't divulge any details although even the length of Catherine's labour should not have been revealed but wouldn't it be interesting to hear a few details from *'s gynaecologist confirming times and length of labour? Some hope!

Actually, a silk stocking is too much, a nylon one will suffice. That's good enough for her.
It's about the King and Queen and their relationship with God and the People, just as
1953 wasn't about Charles and Anne. As the Anglo Saxon Chronicles put it, the monarch `was hallowed to kingship'.

We haven't crowned a king with adult children and young grandchildren since since Edward VII in1902, when his son, the future George V, was 37 and grandsons David & Bertie were 8 & 5 respectively. I take it that they are the 2 young lads in the front row of the balcony, with the Royal ladies, in this painting:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coronation_of_Edward_VII_and_Alexandra#/media/File:The_Coronation_of_King_Edward_VII.jpg

It looks as if the future George V is to the right of the king (behind the bishop) holding his coronet aloft.

I'd say this establishes a precedent - no sign of any other young children.

Ditto about Bette 'Middling'....surely there are talented singers who can champion the UK, or someone in the Commonwealth or someone/something befitting the grandeur of the occasion. How disapponting in picking her of all people.

I really hope this momentous historcal ocassion is such a beautiful, awe-inspiring, unforgetable pagentry not just fit for a King's coronation but to highlight the legacy of the BRF (in a similar vein what the funeral for Elizabeth did to cap her reign) along with giving a certain prominence to William & George as the face of the future, a promisng future.

It is beyond rude that the Harkles have presumably not given their answer if they will be attending. Their manners are worse than unfortunate people who don't know what RSVP stands for...they are just too petty and too common to be decent. I hope this rates them a seat "in Siberia" rather than "Iceland" as some wished if they do drag themselves to the celebration.

Prince Harry to attend coronation without Meghan

BBC News royal correspondent
Prince Harry will come to the King's coronation, but Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, will not be attending, says Buckingham Palace.

There had been speculation about whether the couple would travel to the coronation - but it has now emerged that Prince Harry will attend alone.

Prince Harry will join more than 2,000 guests at Westminster Abbey on 6 May.

It will be the first time he will have been seen with the Royal Family since the release of his best-selling memoir.

Prince Harry's book, Spare, vividly revealed the extent of family tensions and he has since spoken of feeling "different" from the rest of his family - and it had been unclear whether he would attend his father's coronation.

But there has now been confirmation that Prince Harry will be at the Abbey, on a day which is also the fourth birthday of their son, Archie.

What do we know about the coronation so far?
Prince Harry says he felt different from family
Prince Harry and Meghan, who live in California in the United States, had been contacted by email more than a month ago about attending the coronation.

But until now it was not known whether they would be there, alongside other members of the Royal Family, public figures, world leaders and 450 representatives of charities and community groups.

The decision for Meghan not to attend will be seen as part of ongoing, unresolved tensions between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the Royal Family.

Prince Harry's book and an earlier Netflix series had highlighted worries about negative media coverage, particularly towards Meghan - and he had warned of a lack of support from his family.

As he is no longer a "working royal", it remains to be seen what part Prince Harry will play in the coronation ceremony. For the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Prince Harry and Meghan did not take part in the traditional appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

It's expected that Prince William, as Prince of Wales, will have a prominent role in the coronation - and after Prince Harry's dramatic account of their falling out there will be attention on the two brothers coming together again.

As well as the coronation service there is a long weekend of public events and concerts, which the Royal Family will be expected to attend.

Prince Harry made an unexpected appearance in London in March, when he attended a court hearing in a case against Associated Newspapers about allegations of privacy breaches, but he was not thought to have met his brother or father during the visit.

Just a thought: She knew she would be frozen out by Harry’s family and booed by the public, so I wonder if the Sussexes were delaying their RSVP to the coronation invitation to allow Meghan some time to try to get a deal with one of the US tv networks to be a remotely-based commentator on coronation day.

There’s almost always a money and/or attention angle to anything Harry’s wife does. By having Harry go by himself and Harry’s wife stay in the US, a Netflix crew can follow Harry on his trip and another crew to separately follow Meghan in the States either being a commentator or doing some sort of coronation day stunt to draw attention to herself.

I have a hard time believing Harry’s wife will just sit at home in Montecito and watch the event on the tv with the kids.

there's a huge pushback happening now on the idea of "disinformation" and since the twatsexes are big supporters, it's interesting to see if they will push ahead or back down.

Elon Musk had a pretty interesting interview with a tech journalist from the BBC yesterday. The journalist posited that there was more hate speech on twitter recently, but couldn't give a single example of such speech that he had personally seen.

I think that this tweet sums it up. It's from Glenn Greenwald, a journalist who received a lot of information from Edward Snowden while he was working at the Guardian:

It's so clear how this scam works:

The US, EU, Big Tech and the same small handful of neoliberal billionaires (Gates, Omidyar, Soros) fund "disinformation experts" to smear any sites they can't control, or won't censor on command, as being vectors of hate and disinformation.

https://twitter.com/ggreenwald/status/1646147460778147843

So, I wonder if they will try to keep it up, perhaps trying for those Soros $$, or pack it in and move on to the next "cause du jour".

The Coronation is basically a really really really…….rrreeeeaaaallllllyyyyyy important wedding.

Obviously Meghan shouldn’t a thought. Only the “groom” and his bride should be a thought. Only a true narcissist wouldn’t understand this.

I was thinking along those lines too - in many respects, our Coronations are like weddings - it's about the relationship of the monarch to the kingdom and its people. There's an indissoluble vow and a ring.

Elizabeth I is probably the best example of a monarch who seems to have thought in this way - to have remained unmarried as a spouse could have disrupted that relationship.

William III & Mary II were technically joint monarchs but in reality their reign was William's show, despite Mary (James II's being no 1 in the line of succession, when his son was ignored) having the greater claim.

Later, Albert was clearly in control of Victoria. keeping her pregnant helped.

Despite being a child at the time, I can recall the issue of Prince Philip's role being a very delicate matter, until he was defined as head of the family, with no role in state affairs. To his great credit, he stayed in his lane throughout his life. May he rest in peace.

I bet the RF has already decided what they'll do with his corpse when he time comes, assuming he's not in US.

He'll be buried in the graveyard at Frogmore, next to Wallis and David.

See: http://news.bbc.co.uk/onthisday/hi/dates/stories/april/29/newsid_2500000/2500427.stm

1986: Simple funeral rites for Duchess

The Duchess of Windsor, Wallis Simpson, has been laid to rest alongside her husband, the abdicated King Edward VIII, at Frogmore in Windsor.
She was buried in an English oak coffin, marked with a silver plate inscribed simply "Wallis, Duchess of Windsor, 1896-1986".

The funeral service, at St George's Chapel, was marked by its simplicity. Although flags were flown at half-mast, there was little of the pomp and ceremony which usually marks Royal funerals.

The 100 guests included the Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher, and her husband Denis, as well as the Labour leader, Neil Kinnock.

No funeral address

The Royal guests were led by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh. Beside them sat the Prince and Princess of Wales, Princess Anne, and Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, as well as other members of the Royal Family.

There was no funeral address, in accordance with the Duchess's wishes, and at no point in the service was there any mention of her name, or reference to her life. There were few flowers: most conspicuous was a single wreath of white, orange and yellow lilies from the Queen, which lay on her coffin.

The Duchess's status within the Royal Family was recognised only by the final blessing, given by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Robert Runcie, and by the slow and stately procession which bore her coffin out of the Chapel, to the tune of Elgar's Nimrod.

At the burial, just four members of the Royal Family watched the coffin lowered into its final resting place under the spreading plane tree where King Edward VIII has lain since his death in 1972.

The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, and the Prince and Princess of Wales were joined by just eight private retainers and friends of the Duchess in her last years in voluntary exile in Paris.

The Queen Mother did not attend the burial itself, on the decision of the Queen. She is known to have had the most difficult relationship with the Duchess, whom she once called "the lowest of the low".

Her husband, George VI, was forced onto the throne by Edward VIII's abdication, to her anger and dismay. She is thought to have blamed his early death, in 1952, on the stresses of kingship.

Came across this video and the following summary:

* Kinsey believes Jill Smoller could be the godmother.
* Diana's brother won't allow Meghan to visit Princess Diana's gravesite.
* Kinsey is in touch with Trevor's friend who knows Meghan and labeled her "thirsty"
* Allegedly it was a York sister who overheard Meghan tell Harry that Diana told her (during yoga) she's proud of them for attending the Jubilee.

I haven't watched the whole video, but I wonder where this person gets all this tea. There is a lot more, with a long conversation about why they do not get invited to events. I think that mostly they get these awards because the organizers are raising money by selling expensive tickets and they think it will be easier to do so with their presence as a drawcard, and it guarantees free media coverage.
How can any journalist, gutter or otherwise, imagine that that there will ever be reconciliation between the family and Oedipus Princeps because he failed to recognise that there is something called Too Much Information?

He has told the world that not only did he think about killing his father but has as good as said he he jerks off, to put it brutally, using the brand of face cream his mother used? He too is `repugnant'.

A snippet re seating arrangements at the coronation (from Express);

Harry’s arrival at Westminster Abbey will be meticulously crafted down to the exact minute to avoid any form of confrontation with members of the Royal Family who will never forgive him for what he has done.

Harry will be seated several rows behind the senior royals and at a position to ensure that there can be no direct shot of William and Harry together - meaning any potential sideways glances or furious stares are not broadcast on the world stage.

Tom Bower: I think he is making it up. His book is due to be published in America soon, so he is trying to drum up interest. The invitation was for them both.

Why did she turn down the opportunity to get global attention, for free? I think there is a variety of reasons. She is not interested in public appearances where she is not the star attraction and where she has to follow rules that are alien to her. She is genuinely stumped about what to wear ... her usual ill-fitting expensive garments and tons of meaningful itty bitty jewellery are not what is required for this occasion and all she has is a bracelet that Charles gave her (which she has not worn for a long time) and some small pearl earrings from the shop selling royal stuff that the late Queen gifted her. Camilla, Anne, Sophie and Catherine have access to the royal vault. She knows now, after the late Queen's death, that there will be no millions to inherit from the royal family, and her last foot in the doorway, Frogmore Cottage, has been taken away. Mostly, she thinks she goes not need the royal connection now that she had Oprah, Gayle, Ellen and Tyler on her side, and royal connections mean nothing to them. She wants to be as wealthy as her friends, but being royal is no longer her ticket to that lifestyle. She has to hustle to get the many millions she wants, and she is a hustler so that is what she is comfortable doing.

She certainly does not want her children having any kind of relationship with royals.

As for him ... it mystifies me why he is turning up, to be hidden in some third row to witness a ceremony involving his father that he will have no part in. I doubt that he will ever reveal a coherent and truthful explanation for that.
My guess, FWIW, is that an invitation was sent to both but that it was made clear that she wasn't expected to accept.

Rather like how the Duke of Windsor was `invited' in '53.

It's mystifying to me why Todger is showing up for the Coronation. The petulance and scowling Todger exhibited at QEII's funeral, and refusal to sing God Save the King demonstrated his toddler tantrum skill set. What kind of tantrum will be throw at the Coronation? Todger will get the cold shoulder from all the relatives, and from the public. Perhaps the trip will serve double duty if he's going to withdraw funds from his account.

@Fifi,

I read somewhere that Todger will be placed in an area where his scowling, refusal to sing the national them and his angry looks will not be transmitted by the cameras, and will not be seen by the King, Camilla, William and Catherine.

A lot of people in twitter are suggesting that he be seated next to his godfather, Prince Andrew.

Two people completely self-absorbed ... quite asronishing! This information indicates that it was her holding up the timely and well-mannered reply to the invitation as she was dirhering about attending or not, and trying to dominate and control, through him, with making a fuss about every detail.

-----
Prince Harry delayed replying to the invitation to the Coronation because he was 'preoccupied' by where he would have to sit, sources have indicated.

It was one of the reasons he was so late in confirming his decision to attend the crowning of his father King Charles III at Westminster Abbey on May 6.

Neither Buckingham Palace nor a legal representative for the Duke of Sussex responded to a request for comment yesterday. But more than one source has confirmed to the Mail that there have been 'extensive discussions' between London and California over the issue.

One said: 'Harry's side was keen to find out, presumably because they wanted to rubber-stamp it, what the seating plan at the Abbey is. There's been extensive back and forth about who they [Harry and Meghan] would be sitting behind if they came. And who would be behind them.'

Harry was apparently quite preoccupied by this particular detail, the source said.
Another source added: 'This is true. There has been a lot of questions on detail for the Abbey.'

Publications with links to the Sussexes have suggested that Harry had a list of questions for the palace about what would happen if he attended and wanted certain 'assurances', but did not detail what they might be.

This Page Six article is aloas of nonsense and comes from TBW. Note that he is going to the coronation to 'support his father'. See how it makes him seem him important

-----
PART I
It would be “inauthentic” for Meghan Markle to go to King Charles’ coronation after all that has happened between her and the royal family — but the Duchess of Sussex fully supports Prince Harry’s decision to attend the ceremony, sources tell Page Six

“They had to make a decision that felt genuine and authentic, especially after everything that has been said and all the things that have gone down,” an insider familiar with the family says.

“The words that Harry and Meghan have said about the importance of their family are lining up with their actions.

“They care about their family, so Meghan is going to stay [in California] and Harry is going to support his dad.”

Markle, 41, famously said of her suffering at the hands of the royal family: “I think forgiveness is really important. It takes a lot more energy to not forgive.

“But it takes a lot of effort to forgive. I’ve really made an active effort.”

Harry’s decision to attend the coronation was a lengthy process that spanned weeks, the insider explains.

“It’s a decision they made together as a family.”
Sandie said…
PART II
Amid reports of Markle’s controlling nature, the insider adds: “If she was super controlling, then she could have made sure that Harry didn’t go. She’s all good, she supports Harry — they both have nothing more to prove.”

We’re told that Harry — who has said that he wanted an apology from his father to himself and Markle — will only make a quick trip to London for the coronation on May 6, which falls on the same day as son Prince Archie’s 4th birthday.

Another source who knows the Sussexes tells us: “There is not one right answer. Prince Harry is going to support his dad … and then he’ll be coming home as soon as possible to be with his son.”

“For all the people who say they want to be half in and half out of the royal family, this proves just the opposite.”

It was widely accepted by palace staff that Archie and his 1-year-old sister, Princess Lilibet, would be too young to attend the coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey next month.

Similarly, Page Six reported that Prince William and Kate Middleton will not make a decision on 4-year-old son Prince Louis’ attendance until closer to the day, due to his age.

The Sussexes, who are now in talks about next projects with Netflix and a host of other work, are said to have moved on from their tumultuous relationship with the working royals.

“They have a comfort in California and an optimism in their future,” the source says. “They’re building a future that is in peace with their family in the UK.”

If he genuinely wanted to support his father, he wouldn't have cared about the seating arrangements. Was this because he had to be seated at the front with the 'principals' for a Netflix documentary? Or is he so self-centred that he had to be centre stage, or as close as, and show the world that he's Prince H of the BRF?
If the decision "felt genuine and authentic" then this must come from a statement issued by *, this is the sort of vocabulary she uses.
------------
'Amid reports of Markle’s controlling nature, the insider adds: “If she was super controlling, then she could have made sure that Harry didn’t go. She’s all good, she supports Harry — they both have nothing more to prove.”'
What kind of sycophantic drivel is this? I'm sure she wanted Harold to go, either for Netflix/to try and get money from daddy etc and I think she wanted to go to, hence the delay - partly - why H didn't reply in a timely fashion. Now she can look like the good wife who encouraged her husband to join his family whole she sacrificed herself to stay at home. Remember, she is such a good mother too.

Brand experts give their opinion on what she will do next and how she is basically going to be very successful with her own brand (husband excluded). We have heard all this before and she always turns out to be an empty vessel with a limited attention span.

Romantic comedies? No. They are notoriously difficult to get right and even if she hires the best writers, producers and directors, she will sabotage it as she did Pearl.

The Tig? I think she could get at least a million followers for all that superficial stuff she does: me, food, me, fashion, me, travel, me, and so on. It would basically be a vehicle for her to do something all about herself and earn money from merching. If brands don't want her, she will be in trouble.

I don't know if she has the work ethic to complete a book, never mind books. And critics will have a field day finding all the lies and garbage among the pretentious word salad. However, she will get a publisher and she will try to force herself into bestseller lists. But, in reality, it is difficult to make millions from books, despite fudging your way onto 'bestseller' lists.

She has discovered that she cannot get her hands on any of the wealth from the royal family, so what is she going to do when her prince runs out of money?

Sandie said…
Narcs are all about domination and control, hence all the demands and endless time spent on them for the coronation. They got nothing they demanded, so she pulled out. I am still confused about why he is attending. That garbage about him 'supporting his father' is her spin and is not the truth. Why would he fly all that way to attend a two-hour ceremony in which he has no role and then fly back to California immediately? I am really flummoxed. But note that the tabloids are full of stories about the King wanting him there and wanting a reconciliation and William being a stick in the mud. Sounds like their PR. Does he think he can get money from his father?

It is easy to spot that the article in Page Six is sourced from her. That is always how she tries to spin the narrative. But it does not make sense. Why does he want to be at the coronation, and what is the real reason that she is letting him go? She can't be happy about him spending all that money ... or is the King foolish enough to pay for the trip?

Note that it is an in and out trip, with no time to meet with family and even try a reconciliation. And no children. Of course she does not want a reconciliation!

What if he delays his return and dies meet privately with his family, in defiance of her instructions? Would he even want to do that? Is she using the children to hold him hostage?
H didn't want MI5 & 6 breathing down his neck, nor Colonel Johnny.

I shall be watching the Tv coverage, calling out to myself ` Whe-ere's Joh-nny?.

Am now fantasising that H'll settle himself down in his seat, clearly relieved that' there's no sign of spooks (NB British usage) nor like individuals, within an arm's length of him, and the good colonel will suddenly pop up behind him, like a jack-in-the box, crying `He-re's Johnny!'

@Birdie, you asked about Nutties' plans for the coronation...drinks, eats, recipes etc.

In my household we indulge in PG Tips or other British tea brands, plus Walkers shortbread biscuits from our commemorative QEII tin each weekend morning. So we will start the 6th of May with our usual. We absolutely love Champagne and we love brunch, so to celebrate the coronation we will toast with a fine Champagne and then make some yummy brunch to go with it.

We might have a snazzed-up brunch version of Coronation Chicken which was the feature on QEII's coronation day. I am a tad disappointed that Coronation Chicken is not the offical meal on Charles III's festive day, but (the Telegraph's article about) the official foods sound delicious...we might give them a go.

"What is the coronation dish for King Charles?
Coronation chicken may have been considered suitably extravagant in 1953 but 70 years on, palates have undoubtedly changed. Britons are urged to celebrate the King's Coronation on May 6 with a roast rack of lamb with Asian-style marinade or a strawberry and ginger trifle featuring no fewer than 26 ingredients.Feb 6, 2023 Forget coronation chicken, Asian-style lamb is a dish fit for a King "

Here are the three official Coronation recipes, including Aubergine (editorial from me: yucchhh):

A Sinner on Saint Meghan Markle has published a transcript of a recent Lady C post but I'm not sure if it's the transcript that a Nutty has already mentioned, or if I've posted about this yet.

As I read on, past the Lady C re-enactment of the meltdown, she talked about Archie's birth and postulated that the strange post on the KP Official site, the one that appeared briefly then disappeared, about A being born of a surrogate, might be not have been fake but was in fact true, sort of unofficially official or officially unofficial, if you get my drift.

She wonders if that's what they are demanding `an apology' for - the `You know what you did'.

I shall probably get shot down for saying this, but I'd guess the betting's evens on Archie being born of a modern surrogacy arrangement versus the, ahem, more traditional way of getting a cuckoo in the nest. All speculation of course.

Tarot updates from the above site ... the blogger is not English-speaking, but I think you can still get the gist of what she is picking up. She read for Charles, Meghan, Harry, Catherine and William, so I'll spread the readings over a couple of posts. Overall, it seems there is a lot of tension in this family round the time of the coronation. Tarot readers are generally picking up that her non-appearance at the coronation and keeping the children away is because she is done with the royal family, but he is in internal conflict over this.
-----

Charles:
energy oracle: we are attached to something, we put on a social mask, we are more in the form of hostility but not in a phase of inner peace either, we try to refocus here, we can't wait to get out of this state.

tarot: we are at the end of a fight here which has been exhausting, we are refining certain details here, a decision has been made not to work or fight on a project or status here an announcement has been muted, we do not want conflict here
-----

TBW:
energy oracle: she is in greed, deceit, lie... she made a choice, she wants change from a man.

Tarot: there is an emotional loss here, an unhappy ending, one wishes to cut oneself off from one's past and look to the future, there is loss in all areas here, a recent decision has been made, the departure of oneself get away from the brf

Sandie said…
Hapless:
energy oracle: harry is in an energy of deception and lies and disillusion but he has a choice to make too this card comes up often, between lying or refocusing on yourself and leaving your past behind.

with the tarots: there is a distance from the dark part of harry, perhaps he wants to get out of this emotional spiral, drug alcohol. He has a childish behavior and a form of inertia in the end of his relationship. Your couple is dead but you still stay!!!

There is an announcement, communication, we gather these emotions by writing about loneliness or the end of a couple.
-----

Catherine:
oracle of energies: Catherine reflects on a situation and the outcome of the situation, we have to make a decision, I am once again told about a healer of all times (this card came for William) Catherine tries to refocus on herself.

Tarot: Catherine is disturbed by a situation, she prays, she tries to find the voice of reason (I hear) her mind is scattered, there is a choice that must be made, I am told of a blessing with the 3 of coupes but it is accompanied by death + the 4 de baton = if I had to translate in a concrete way a renewal which is taking hold but which brings you to rest and inertia for Catherine in the real world with the queen of coins = capricorn = catherine.
-----

William:
energy oracle: he is thinking about meghan's behavior at the moment, she left for him, she waited for her moment to deceive or lie about a situation, try to manifest something, she is going to talk about healing, turning the page?!

Tarot: with the tarot he is nervous about something, something hidden that is not communicated to the general public, there is a toxic behavior or a toxic situation that isolates a valet de coupe here, we free ourselves from loneliness here , rebirth and hope can return here

Yesterday, French television broadcast a report devoted to an investigation into the finances of Archewell. Here is a recap of the show.

An investigation by "Special Envoy" on France2 TV, points to the nebulous management of the Sussex Foundation, with 9 million dollars quietly sleeping in accounts.
The coffers of the Archewell Foundation are full of dollars which are curiously slow to be distributed… This is the observation made Thursday evening by the program Envoyé Spécial, which was interested in the exiles of the British crown, who now live in California.

While searching their ten accounts, all domiciled in Delaware, a state known for its very low tax rates, the journalists discovered a curious anomaly: the Archewell Foundation currently has $9 million sitting idle.

Indeed, of the 13 million dollars collected for their good works, Harry and Meghan distributed 22 checks to associations, for an amount of 2.9 million dollars. One million has been set aside for operating costs. This leaves 9 million to stagnate and serve absolutely no purpose, except to constitute a thick reserve cushion, and financial investments.
It's a meager philanthropic record, even if the Sussexes have made their social and ecological commitment the goal of their installation in California, hoping to attract many donors and restore their image. But for what result in the end, especially if the sums are sleeping in the drawers? Is Archewell just a showcase?

In order to hide a rather disappointing balance sheet, the Sussexes constantly communicate by tending to inflate the importance of their action, compared to the sums actually invested... As the site Gert's Royals cleverly spotted, the couple highlighted the distribution of 12.66 million doses of vaccines against Covid, but this is the figure reached by the organization Global Citizen, while the participation of the Sussexes was limited to the purchase of 107,000 doses…
The special envoy tried to find out more about the foundation by going there to Los Angeles, where it is officially domiciled. We thus discover an opulent building in the Beverly Hills district, but when a journalist goes up to the 5th floor, he comes across huge offices completely deserted - it is in fact a law firm, specifies an employee unearthed at the chance of a corridor. In reality, the whole affair of the Sussexes is managed by private advisers who quickly registered the 13 companies of the couple in Delaware, known to be the tax haven of the United States, guaranteeing very advantageous taxation and anonymity to those who wish...

That info. about the French journalists is fascinating. What I have picked up so far is that they are serious journalists, and they visited the offices of Archwell ... found one person in an empty office, and it took ages to get that person's attention. Although I have not gathered the evidence to back this up, I think all those people they employed, and those they still do, work from home and are mostly focused on getting good publicity for TBW, plus some menial chores, especially research (checking what people are saying about her online and in the media).

I still think they will manage to get donations, but ethical folk are going to stay well away from them. Even if she does restart her blog, and earns from merching, and publishes her (fictional) 'memoirs', they are not going to give her the millions she needs to sustain her spending. And all those movies (rom coms) she is supposedly making will probably cost money but never be finished, like Pearl. How much would Netflix pay them for another mockumentary? Isn't one million for operating costs rather high? They don't have offices, and salaries certainly do not cost that much.

The narrative is changing ... Camilla Tominey rooting for the hapless prince, but no mention of TBW. I think the tabloids, and most of the people, will forgive him if her returns without her. But, then he loses his children, so I think he will stay in the toxic marriage, no matter how unhappy he becomes, for at least another 16 years or more.

He added: “They’re very, very spiteful to families and friends.”

A post by an Anon, followed by a tarot reading as a reply:

"there is a ‘blind’ on a fashion account who is saying that allegedly MM was planning to go to the coronation and apparently already had someone making her a gown, but in the moment she heard ‘no tiara and morning suit’ for her, she decided not to attend"
-----

Based on the cards I pulled, her emotions are running high at the moment. I don’t want to label it as manic because I don’t think I’m qualified to say that especially since this is just a reading. But, she does appear to be very frustrated/stressed.

I also see her occupied with something. I pulled an 8 of Diamonds which represents acquiring a new job and working on your skills/craftsmanship. It can also be about hard work and reputation. Just by looking at this, the thought of other blogs saying that she could be rebranding herself just popped up in my head.

Overall, MM is stressed (possibly about her reputation and the state of her career) so she’s working very hard on trying to fix that. However, working on it is also causing her more stress. I feel like her excuse for not attending (if she did give one) would probably be that she is very busy and occupied with work.

Although I have not gathered the evidence to back this up, I think all those people they employed, and those they still do, work from home and are mostly focused on getting good publicity for TBW, plus some menial chores, especially research (checking what people are saying about her online and in the media).
-----------

I suspect they only have 1-2 true employees, James Holt being one of them.

I suspect the rest are contract people. They work Archewell as a side job, or on a project basis. As in, contracted for the Netflix project and then done.

They're not real employees with benefits such as vacation, 401k, etc.

@Bénédicte, thank you for the concise synopsis of the French exposé of Archewell etc... on France2 TV. Your overview impelled me to look into this, so I watched a 17 minute piece (which included English subtitles where necessary) covering the exposé by my favorite Youtuber "The Royal Grift".

I can strongly encourage all Nutties to follow up Bénédicte's helpful synopsis with watching The Royal Grift's take:

As sure as little green apples fall downwards, they are persisting in making nuisances of themselves.

According to Neil Sean (FWIW), Dirty Harry's brought pressies for the King from the kids - their drawings of the Coronation, plus greetings on a USB stick. Also, he’s still arguing the toss about the arrangements and may well back out. It looks as if he’s been told to attend by the King but he’s not giving in to Charles’s stipulations. His way or the Highway. No sign of any fat lady singing yet.

---------
In theory, narcs go away and find fresh victims when they are up against a brick wall, as here. The situation, however, is worse than that, I’m starting to think.
It probably wouldn’t have made the slightest difference had the King refused to invite either or both, or had rescinded anything he had issued, or had given them a very regal `F- Off’ at the start. She’s a narc who doesn’t take `No!’ for a response ( like my narc who insisted on emptying the teapot down the sink. Short of decking her, there was no way to stop her.)

I suspect that `Meghan will stay at home but Harry will come’ may have the air of `Meghan shall stay at home and Harry shall come’ now has the status of a Royal Command, as in the classic cry `He shall die!!!’ It’s the biggest `No!’ that ILBW has ever received. She’s arrogant enough, however, to treat it as a challenge and I am now seriously concerned as to what they may do.

It should be relatively easy to prevent them reaching the door of the Abbey- road blocks and plenty of police and soldiers armed with automatic weapons (loaded) might be enough, except that I think they are sufficiently unhinged and angry to attempt something really nasty. They are seething with rage at specific Royals, at the Royal Family in general and the people of Britain as a whole.

I’m thinking of some of the mass shootings we’ve had in the UK where the perpetrators seemed to no firm motive for their actions beyond `I’ll make them sorry!’ , `them ‘ in this case being all of us.

I believe they are capable of acting like terrorists and pray that this threat is taken as seriously as threats from the organised terrorists of this world. They may well F-around and will surely Find Out but, God willing, they’re the only ones who’ll get hurt.

I agree that pressure has likely been placed on the loathsome twosome...a pressure which they've been made to understand is actually a command that Harry attend and Meghan stay away.

The only thing these two react to is money. Therefore I personally believe that Charles made it clear he expects Harry to show up alone and behave himself, and in return will get a multi-million $£ payday from his brief appearance.

All pundits and those in the royal circle have repeatedly insisted that Charles adamantly wants son Harry at the Coronation, and doesn't care that Harry has kicked and trashed and revealed delicate secrets and lied about the whole family for years. Charles ignores Harry's ugly destructive nature, and is intent on his attendance at the Coronation.

The only way, to my thinking, to get Harry to attend alone and behave honorably is by cash-for-attendance.

The video from the Royal Grift is well worth watching.

However, I have some one frustrations: Why did he not ask that woman who chased him away why the offices are empty? Where are the lawyers that are supposed to be working there? Why did he not compare staff numbers with costs? Although it is probably good business practice to not spend all the money, they do seem to have 'put aside' a lot ... probably enough for them to keep up the facade of philanthropy for another 4 or 5 years, or more if they are earning interest. That is looking quite far ahead for attention-seeking, greedy, immediate satisfaction children!

@Mel
As you point out, they hire contract staff so they do not pay for benefits.

I suppose that there is nothing in the law that allows a government agency to investigate the finances of this shady operation. However, as I said above, ethical rich people are not going to want to donate to people who attract so much attention for the wrong reasons. An ethical organization would 'open the doors' to dispel such negative media attention and coverage, but those two grifters batten down the hatches.

I see that the UK tabloids are still filled with Charles and his 'darling boy'. Typical narcs are love bombing him as they did with the late Queen. No wonder tarot readers are 'seeing' stress all round, except for TBW who is preoccupied with HER image and HER 'projects'.

tarot: we are at the end of a fight here which has been exhausting, we are refining certain details here, a decision has been made not to work or fight on a project or status here an announcement has been muted, we do not want conflict here

Tarot reading for TBW:

energy oracle: she is in greed, deceit, lie... she made a choice, she wants change from a man.

Tarot: there is an emotional loss here, an unhappy ending, one wishes to cut oneself off from one's past and look to the future, there is loss in all areas here, a recent decision has been made, the departure of oneself get away from the brf

Thank you, @Bénédicte for the French report. The Twitter link mentioned up thread by another poster did mention that 90% of the money didn't do anything.

Re the empty offices, you may remember that a few years ago Doria was made CEO of Loving Kindness Senior Care, a chain (I think) of care homes. I researched the address at the time and remember posting something about it, the address is... the same address as a firm of lawyers (I did find out at the time, I think) and the same as the empty offices visited by the French TV reporters:
9665 WILSHIRE BLVD 5TH FLOOR BEVERLY HILLS CA 90212 (not to be confused with Beverley Hills 90210 😉).
I wonder what happened to that chain of care homes and Doria's involvement.

@OCGal

I agree with you when you say:

`The only thing these two react to is money. Therefore I personally believe that Charles made it clear he expects Harry to show up alone and behave himself'

but I don't see that it necessarily follows that H ` in return will get a multi-million $£ payday from his brief appearance.'

I can't see the King paying out for any more than a cattle-class return plane ticket and H's bus fare from the airfield, unless it's for a cup of coffee and a round of sandwiches to sustain him as he heads back to the US.

It sounds like a statement of what is going to happen, as far as the King is concerned. The only question is what the consequences of non-attendance might be. I may be wrong of course but there's a considerable difference in meaning between `will' and `shall'.
Thanks Maneki for the confirmation of that address - you beat me to it.

Didn't we find that it was the address of a law firm when it appeared for the second time (Doria's HQ) purporting to be the care home offices, previously masquerading as Archewell.

Here we are:
https://profiles.superlawyers.com/california/beverly-hills/lawfirm/goodman-genow-schenkman-smelkinson-and-christopher-llp/1acee031-4121-475d-a591-894e46deaeae.html

They advertise themselves as being `entertainment & sports' lawyers and, IIRC, they cropped up in connection with that load of ridiculous patents H$M were trying to take out, although H&M tried to make out it was Archewell's address

It sounds like an accommodation address that just takes in post. I think I mentioned a smarmy estate agent there once was in my town who claimed to have a `Mayfair office' but this was just an office with pigeonholes for firms which wanted to look as if they were more reputable than they really were.

As it is, Goodman etc sound more like Flywheel, Shyster and FlyWheel.

Lady C's video today was very intriguing, especially the beginning.

She says that people who know them hear from them that they are separating, then that they are the greatest lovers since Romeo and Juliet, then that they are divorcing, then again with the reconciliation etc.

So we seem to have confirmation that they themselves are discussing breaking up and divorce.

All manner of vices in California. Girls for sale, boys for sale, illegal drugs for sale. Male and female prostitutes everywhere. Whatever your vice, it's in a parade. There were 130,000-odd unaccompanied minor illegals that arrived in the US last year. That is just a drop in the bucket of the number that were smuggled across the border. They are destined for brothels or sale to individuals. I can guarantee that they aren't going to be allowed to grow up to testify or turn anybody in.

California has nice weather, too, when it isn't shaking, burning, or mud sliding.

I did post those tarot readings again, but they have not come through.

Basically it said she is concerned about 'her brand' and is working on building her image. Going to the coronation does not serve her, but she is stressed to the point of mania.

Lady C says in her latest video that her 'advisors' told her that going to the coronation would not help her brand. So, it is pretty much the same story. It sounds believable because they made so many demands and ended up quibbling about who would be seated in front of and behind them!

The tabloids are filled with the reconciliation between the King and his son, with William not part of the picture. In my opinion, this story is from the duo. They are trying to build the narrative of a special relationship with the monarch, as they did with the late Queen.

No. It was the rules. I can almost guarantee they were told the following:

1) No balcony. Non-negotiable.

2) No Archie birthday stuff

3) No unauthorized pap walks

4) No separate arrival to the Abbey. You will ride in the family bus with the other non-working Royals.

5) No individual walk in the Abbey.

6) No tiara

7) No clothing budget. You pay for what you wear and here is the list outlining the designers you may use and the colors you may wear. It will be correctly fitted and it will be required.

8) No attendance of the children at the Coronation.

9) No premium seating.

10) You will be given supervised accommodation. There will be no photographers flown in for you (Misan Harriman), there will be no Netflix or Spotify. Not at any palace accommodation, the Abbey or anywhere else.

11) You will have no access to Heads of State, diplomats or foreign dignitaries. You do not represent the UK as you are not working Royals and the US is represented by Dr. Jill Biden.

12) No audiences with senior working Royals.

13) You will both bow and curtsy to the King & Queen and Prince and Princess of Wales. (This is the one Nutmeg can’t stomach).

14) No access to the Wales, their staff, their children or their home.

15) You will be under the umbrella of the Royal Family security. Non-negotiable. To get that security, you will be required to stay on Royal property in the accommodation given.

16) There will be zero discussion regarding money, trusts, finances. Not to the trustees, family or staff.

17) The Field Marshall and William are in charge of the event and you’ll toe the line.

18) No apology.

19) You will treat all staff with deference and respect. Bullying will not be tolerated.

20) You will not be privy to any private conversations between senior Royals.

What a brilliant rule! She would have been on floor sobbing after the first few! I have no doubt that they must have been issued with stricts instructions and the event has to be strictly staged and choreographed with no room for improvisation or changes by those two. As H will be on his own, he'll conform even if begrudgingly. Meanwhile, some 5500 miles west something might well be brewing.
I've just re-read the Mail piece about the `heart to heart'. The wording is

`Prince Harry had a 'heart to heart' with his father King Charles about his invitation to the Coronation ceremony before agreeing to attend after weeks of talks over the event's security, it has been claimed.' (my italics)

and goes on

` Sources (ie unspecified ones) previously said there were weeks of negotiations, likened to 'transatlantic ping pong', between Harry and Buckingham Palace about what role he might play, where he might sit and security arrangements.

But royal insiders have come out on Sunday and claimed Prince Harry readily agreed to attend after a personal chat with the King - and that he wants to 'show support for his father'.

Also:
`Sources also denied reports that Prince Harry had been preoccupied with seating arrangements for the Coronation... Publications with links to the Sussexes have suggested that Harry had a list of questions for the Palace about what would happen...'

Apart from the references to `publications' rooting for the Monteshits, no source is attributed to the Palace. In short, it's Meghan's doing

This is a fascinating story about previous residents of Frogmore Cottage (best read of the week)...

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/royals/article-11977013/A-scheming-princess-definitely-NOT-confused-recent-residents.html

Was the late Queen throwing shade, like transporting her to her wedding ceremony in a car associated with the Duchess of Windsor? There are indeed eerie similarities:

Having originally been welcomed and given the grace-and-favour home in the shadow of Windsor Castle, the couple, who were familiar figures in glossy magazines, began on a path of betrayal.

While the husband was described as a 'charming but almost entirely brainless buffoon', the most savage criticism was directed at his 'vicious and unscrupulous' wife who harboured 'anti-British views'.

It must quickly be stressed that these residents of Frogmore Cottage shouldn't be confused with more recent occupants of the five-bed property in Windsor Great Park.

...

'All I can tell you is that she is very pretty, very stupid and drinks like a fish,' was the traitor's initial response to his questions. Later, she opened up about the notorious Austrian trip in 1936.

'She is a pleasure-loving woman who would do anything for her creature comforts, and perhaps for money,' Wolkoff said of the princess. 'She is amoral and with no loyalty.'

I'd like to think that this is the Kings's final test for Harry - what he does or doesn't in relation to the crowning invitation will determine his fate, whether he stands a chance of being re-absorbed (perhaps I should say `adsorbed as he not be fully integrated, just on the surface) or whether he is irrevocably OUT.

Saint Meg has an apposite quotation from 2nd hand coke, more ore less on these lines:

`This is my speculation here, but I think Charles has told Harry their titles are on the line if they don't appear. As a Duke he has sworn fealty to his King and should therefore appear when summoned.'

As usual, the 'narrative' of the duo is all over the place:

* He is flying in and out, just for the coronation ceremony.
* Without presence of wife, him and his father will be able to have a 'heart to heart'. (Every second of coronation day is accounted for fir the King, so I don't know when this supposed meeting would take place. Besides, hapless doesn't have a job or public duties so he could easily fly over and see the King at Balmoral, where he is at present.)

* He is flying commercial.
* He will be using a private jet, and leaving immediately after the ceremony to be home for Archie's birthday.

* She is staying away because she does not want to 'overshadow' the King as she always draws so much attention.
* She is staying away because it is Archie's birthday and she is the best mom.

The British tabloids and mainstream media always go along with the confused PR from the duo even though it does not make sense.

Haven't we had this reconciliation story before, and it turned out to be not true? Charles says 'Of course I love my son and I want him to be there, and people make a whole Hallmark movie about the remark.
-----

If he gives up the Duke of Sussex title, she will call herself Princess Meghan (she can actually call herself Princess Henry of Sussex, but the duchess title is of higher status so I reckon he insists she uses that). The rumour of him giving up the title may be because she wants to be called princess. Can he just give up the titles? I don't think there is a precedent for that. It would be insulting the late Queen, who gave him titles as a wedding gift, but they have already done that by refusing to use the title Earl of Dumbarton for their son. (The late Queen must have had a good giggle about that!) ... So, I don't think that (alleged) tea from Neil Sean is completely off the mark.

@Maneki - yes, I agree that the skirt weave was different in the 2 skirts, one was more like a tartan, the other very `all-over' (I've been researching tartans lately and `have my eye in' for the warp & weft layout).

The weave of the blouse fabric was the same in each - a woven, possibly silky, vertical stripe.

In the end, I thought that the one with the foal may have been `amended' to pass as the original, thereby suggesting the `baby' one was fake, but in truth both look iffy to me...

Is This the REAL THING THIS TIME? or is this just stringing people along?

Recently there was (yet another) post somewhere out in the world about how they will soon divorce.  And my first thought was: Haven't I heard this before?  which moved quickly to: how many times have I heard this (through the years)? There were a number of questions raised which ... I don't know.  I'm not a lawyer.  One of the points which has been raised is that KC would somehow be shelling out beaucoup money to get her to go "away".  That he has all this money stashed away and can pull it out at a moment's notice.  But does he? He inherited a lot of "stuff" from his mother but ... isn't it a lot of tangible stuff like properties? and with that staff to maintain it and insurance.  Inside said properties is art, antique furniture and other "old stuff" which may be valuable" but ... that kind of thing is subject to the whims and bank accounts of the rarified people who may be interested in it (which is not most of us in terms of bei

A Quiet Interlude

Not much appears to be going on. Living Legends came and went without fanfare ... what's the next event?   Super Bowl - Sunday February 11th?  Oscar's - March 10th?   In the mean time, some things are still rolling along in various starts and stops like Samantha's law suit. Or tax season is about to begin in the US.  The IRS just never goes away.  Nor do bills (utility, cable, mortgage, food, cars, security, landscape people, cleaning people, koi person and so on).  There's always another one.  Elsewhere others just continue to glide forward without a real hint of being disrupted by some news out of California.   That would be the new King and Queen or the Prince/Princess of Wales.   Yes there are health risks which seemed to come out of nowhere.  But.  The difference is that these people are calmly living their lives with minimal drama.

Christmas is Coming

The recent post which does mention that the information is speculative and the response got me thinking. It was the one about having them be present at Christmas but must produce the kids. Interesting thought, isn't it? Would they show?  What would we see?  Would there now be photos from the rota?   We often hear of just some rando meeting of rando strangers.  It's odd, isn't it that random strangers just happen to recognize her/them and they have a whole conversation.  Most recently it was from some stranger who raved in some video (link not supplied in the article) that they met and talked and listened to HW talk about her daughter.  There was the requisite comment about HW of how she is/was so kind).  If people are kind, does the world need strangers to tell us (are we that kind of stupid?) or can we come to that conclusion by seeing their kindness in action?  Service. They seem to always be talking about their kids, parenthood and yet, they never seem to have the kids
