Last Big Push or More Major Fireworks to come?

Their MO has always been one offs or hit and run type flashy photo ops and then crickets into the night style.  That we know.

But they seem to be having longer and longer time periods between these PR moments.  Is this because they are finding less and less organizations willing to take the little offered by them?  Or is it that they are working behind the scenes to pull together something for their commitments to Netflix or Spotify as in their backs are up against the wall contractually?

And what about the idea of people being paid by Sunshine? Is it a bunt to deceive or could it be real?  Or a little of both?  If is it not real, is there a way they could use it to swing people to their version of their truth without long term fallout?

I came here to say the same thing. We can only hope that Penguin Random House is next.

Girl with a Hat: The irony is that the family leave had to be dropped because the uber wealthy balked at paying more taxes to fund the program.

In other words, Markle and her friends at Ethic Investments, Netflix, etc as well as the Oprahs of the USA did not want to pay for it.

As we know, Markle's companies are registered in Delaware, where companies that conduct business outside of Delaware don't pay corporate taxes. Together with her various "charities" and corporations, I doubt that she pays anything near her fair share.

She wants social programs only if other people subsidize them. Her letter writing campaign would have been more believable had she expressed a personal willingness to pay more taxes in order to subsidize the program.
Girl with a Hat said…
@Louise,

yes, you are right. She wants other people to pay, always.

I think she thought that the family leave thing would pass, and that she could hitch her name to it, the way she did the Procter and Gamble commercial when she was young. P&G were going to change the commercial anyway, but she managed to make it look like she made them do it.

Yes, I agree that she likely wanted to take credit for the bill if it was passed.

this is the report about the so called hate Twitter account spewing hate and racism about *

I see a few accounts that I used to follow when I was on twitter, like the Toadours, and kylieer, scammingduchess, but no Yankee Wally.

They also have examples of 'hate tweets" but judge for yourself if you think they are hate or just the truth. Things like "she said she was too light for the black community" etc. Not hate at all.

And yet, this report is going to be used forever to try to make her look like a victim.
Louise said…
Yes, GwaH. Various news sources are giving examples of "hate" such as suggesting that she used a surrogate. The story is being run by the usual suspects.. People magazine, etc.

In other words, any questioning of her behaviour was labeled "hate".

However, I don't know whether this will help her much. It was one thing to claim that the British press and Royal Family was mean to her as an excuse to leave the UK. Now that she's left the UK, who is she going to blame? She can't even complain about the "evil internet" because her new gig, Ethic Investments, is invested in Facebook, Twitter, etc.

(Well, at least she should not complain about the internet, although I don't think that the hypocrisy of doing so will matter to her.)

I i notice that Merkymeg is also gone, but this occurred prior to the release of the report that you referenced. Apparently her "Sussex Squad" bots closed down several accounts.

Part 1
It's been a dramatic few years for the royal family. From Harry and Meghan's US move to the death of Prince Philip, new babies, and COVID-19 – not to mention Prince Andrew's well-documented problems –the soap opera has remained unmissable.

Throughout, the Queen has been steadfast as ever, and since her return from Balmoral in September, has embarked on a packed programme of events and meetings. Earlier this month, however, she was seen walking with a stick, and last week she spent a night in hospital.
She cancelled her planned trip to Northern Ireland, and will no longer travel to the climate conference COP26 next week – instead, Prince Charles will give a speech.

While updates on her health remain uncertain, reports suggest that Prince Harry is very worried about his grandmother. He has not visited the UK since June, when he briefly attended the unveiling of the Princess Diana statue at Kensington Palace before flying home to California.

Now, however, Harry could be heading home. According to reports, other royals have rallied around the Queen this week, sending flowers and visiting her at Windsor Castle where she is resting.

Prince William and Kate's children, George, Charlotte and Louis, have all sent hand-drawn cards. By contrast, however, Harry is feeling "helpless", a source has claimed.
The insider told US Weekly, "The royals went into a state of panic when they heard the Queen was admitted to hospital and are taking turns to call her daily and visit her at Windsor Castle.

Harry went into "panic mode" after hearing the news that the Queen was in hospital, the source went on.
"He felt helpless being 5000 miles away in Montecito and has been checking in non-stop with her."
According to the unnamed source, the Prince "feels guilty about not saying goodbye" to Prince Philip and said he "would never forgive himself if the same thing happened with his beloved grandmother".
Part 2

They claim that Harry is keen to come back to Britain with Meghan as soon as possible, so The Queen "can finally get to meet Lilibet and see Archie again."

Harry has been back twice since the move in 2020, for Prince Philip's funeral and for the statue unveiling.

Reports suggest that he and Prince William are still barely speaking after the Oprah interview given by Harry and Meghan last Spring.

They told the legendary TV interviewer that a senior member of the royal family had questioned Archie's skin colour before he was born, and implied that racism was a factor, while Harry also claimed that Prince Charles had 'cut him off.'

On a podcast later in the summer, he told host Dax Shepard that the royals were 'trapped'.

Before his marriage, it was generally thought that Harry and the Queen had an exceptionally close relationship – "a very warm and jokey grandmother-grandson rapport", according to one source.

In line with the family policy of 'joke-only' Christmas presents, he once gave her a shower cap with "Ain't life a b**ch" written on it – she reportedly found it "hilarious".
Royal author Katie Nicholl has said that "exceptionally close to her grandson, the Queen trusts Harry".

She also insisted that rather than being concerned about his relationship with Meghan, contrary to reports, told him: "'This is your wedding, this is your day. Plan it as you want it."

Speaking to Oprah about the fall out of 'Megxit', Harry later insisted, "I never blindsided my grandmother, (with the news) – I have too much respect for her."

The Queen and Harry have kept in touch via Zoom – they talk "all the time", and Nicholl recently said: "She is in touch with them, she knows what is going on in their lives, they discuss their plans with her. Harry has always seen his grandmother as a mentor. While he might be in LA, that has not changed."

Royal watchers are now urging Harry to 'get on a plane' and come and see The Queen – with or without the rest of his family.

I don’t think his brain knows what his tongue has been doing, his ears don’t listen to what comes out of his mouth.

End

I thought the same thing about the Yahoo article, i.e., PR spin.

I also immediately thought of Harry selling Prince Phillip’s prized gun collection that he inherited because madam wanted him to. Did he sell them to a family member who would appreciate the provenance and family memories? No. Did he sell the guns for market value? I remember reading they were bought for a steal considering they belonged to PP. Harry is fooling no one; he’s a selfish twit man-child. He is afraid to return to England to see his grandmother and family because he KNOWS he betrayed them.
I want to add that Katie Nicholl who is mentioned for giving info. In the Yahoo article is a Maggot and Mole prime brown noser and mouth piece. 😛

The question is… “Is Meghan Markle responsible for making the Queen ill?”

Her Majesty is 95-years-old. She was forced to cancel a two-day visit to Northern Ireland and had to make an overnight stay at the King Edward VII Hospital in London, where Buckingham Palace said she underwent some preliminary tests.

Word is coming out that Charles, Camilla and William were incandescent with rage at Meghan Markle’s embarrassing lobbying letter to two big names in US politics, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer.

Harry had previously been warned by Charles not to dabble in US politics. It was made clear to him that as a Prince of the Realm, he must not get involved in political matters.

But what enraged the Royals was the way Markle engineered her association with the Family to push her own agenda.

She had written on paper headed "The Office of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex”.

She thought she was being clever by saying, “I'm not an elected official, and I'm not a politician.”

This didn’t fool the Queen - but it worried her immensely. The Monarch is concerned about what will come next from the actress. According to those within the Palace walls, Meghan Markle’s crass behaviour is making the Queen ill.

This situation cannot continue. The big hitters in the Family, Charles and William, have got to step up to the mark. Decisions must be made. Her Majesty, at her age, and without the guiding hand of Philip, needs protecting. But more importantly, she deserves a life without the stress of being bullied by that woman.

Benjamin Smallbrook - Quora

Peg is always making them incandescent with rage lol.

Thanks. For me, the best part of his analysis starts at around @15.29, when he asks: "What is the actual motivation behind this report?"

Remember when * described herself as "the most trolled person in the entire world, male or female" in 2019? I think she wants that title (heh) back for 2021. Her brand is now professional victim. The biggest professional victim.

He also asks: "Why hasn't this report, for good measure, taken into account other people and analyzed other individuals who are on the receiving end?"

Here's another memory: The time an interviewer told *, "You're not the only powerful woman." A perfectly neutral statement, but *'s chin came up, her jaw clenched and her neck muscles tightened. She's now making sure she seems like the only true victim out there.

And di anyone else notice that Tudor spoke about * for over twenty minutes without mentioning the "r" word that * is also trying to tie to her brand?
Enbrethiliel said…
It is finally sinking in that the Harkles came into some new money lately: Enough to get them a PR piece on Yahoo! and to commission an entire study "to prove" that * is a huge victim.

Now, Yahoo! seems like a step down from People magazine. And perhaps the study didn't cost as much as I imagine it did. But money is money, and how they chose to spend it speaks volumes. No wonder they could only afford two boxes of (allegedly) rotten tomatoes for the Harlem school children they tried to take advantage of. (At least it wasn't bananas, I guess?) Every other charity and cause they have pledged support to can consider themselves equally used and lied to.
Fifi LaRue said…
@Enbrethiliel: I saw something on my FB account, but didn't bother reading it. The headline stated to the effect that there are very few people who are spreading negative messages about Markle, but that the very few are putting out a tremendous number of messages.

Gracie Spinner said: According to those within the Palace walls, Meghan Markle’s crass behaviour is making the Queen ill.

@Gracie Spinner: It is common knowledge that stress, especially long-term
stress, can produce many negative effects on a person’s health.

The Queen is very elderly, she was already 90 in 2016 when Meghan successfully wormed her way into Harrys’s life, but I believe tge real stress from Meghan's toxic presence began with the engagement to Harry in late 2017 and the lead-up to the May 2018 wedding where HMTQ sat stone-faced in St. George’s Chapel during the wedding.

Narcissists are incredibly divisive and toxic people. They have no conscience and will attempt to destroy anyone who gets in the way of their agenda, even if that person is the Queen of England.

Narcissists gain their fuel, power, and control largely through triangulation which is a method of pitting their victim against two or more parties in a divide and conquer strategy to benefit themselves. Meghan successfully pitted Harry against his family in general, and she repeated it by pitting Harry against the Queen and Charles (passing genetic pain through generations of the family), Harry against William and again by pitting Harry against William and Kate.

She also pitted Harry against his male friends who he had known for most of his life. In all of these triangulations, she played the damsel in distress and each time, Harry has aligned with her, falling for it hook, line, and sinker.

To maintain absolute control of Harry, which she must have in order be able to exploit Harry and the royal title that cones with him, she HAS to keep tossing bombs across the pond to make sure any bridges Harry has to the UK, especially to his family, stay burned to a crisp.

To Meghan, Harry’s grieving, elderly grandmother is just collateral damage. She doesn’t receive any special consideration.

Narcissists have no conscience, and anyone who they view as a threat to their ability to maintain control will receive no special treatment, even if they are 95 years old and just lost their husband of 73 years.

When someone has a certain level of stress continually present in the background as a threat, it often makes its presence felt by negatively affecting one’s health.

It is a shame and it breaks my heart that the last years of The Queen’s reign have been marred by a malevolent individual like Meghan, who with the unwitting assistance of dimwit Harry, may pkay a role in The Queen’s recent apparent fragile health.

For anyone reading this, ask yourself if it would be a cakewalk to have someone like Meghan enter your family and create endless havoc that makes you feel like you’re always walking on glass. Would you want someone like her to marry into your formerly close family and seek to destroy it? Probably not.

The added stress of dealing with Harry and his odious wife has likely taken a toll on The Queen and it could easily be a contributing factor to ending her time on this earth sooner than it would have if Meghan Markle had never gotten near her grandson.

When HMTQ does pass, Meghan will portray herself as grieving, but at her core, she won’t care one bit. The only thing she will care about is how much Harry’s inheritance from his grandmother will be.

I wonder if this is it, as I can't imagine a business that would be willing to partner with her after this. She has very openly screwed Netflix and Spotify -- and if the Oprah interview wasn't enough of a PR disaster, the blatant, easily-proven lies in her latest letter should have sealed the deal.

But while a business would do some amount of dispassionate research, an individual sucker to fall for her damsel in distress act could still be reeled in. (Maybe she's telling him he's "the husband she never had"?) I doubt he's wealthy enough for her to leave Harry for him, but he can pay for a sympathetic article here and a bogus study there. A useful tool while she holds on to the primary source of fuel.

Given the narc's penchant for triangulation, a new woman sponsor would mean that she is throwing an older woman sponsor under the bus . . . and at this point of the timeline, that would be Oprah.

I can hear the sob story now. Oprah manipulated her into doing the interview, promising that it would get everyone on her side, only to abandon her after it all blew up in their faces. Now neither Oprah nor Gayle are returning her calls (boo hoo), and * has no idea what to do.

Just heard on the news that The Queen has been advised to take “several weeks” of rest. I do hope it’s just rest and not something more serious.

One of the things about couples who have been together for many years is that when one of them passes on, the other seems to lose their reason for continuing on without their spouse and they often pass soon after, often times within a year or two.

An online article that I believe was from Meghan’s mouthpiece People magazine said that under the guise of bringing Lilibet to meet great grandma and allow granny to see Archie again, Harry and Meghan plan to spend Christmas in the UK to be with The Queen.

The last thing Her Majesty needs is the stress of a visit from her traitorous grandson and his poisonous wife, who due to her profound narcissism will find a way to create drama and make it all about herself.

They want the money shot photograph of Her Majesty with Harry, Poisonous Wife and the two bargaining chips to shore up the Sussexes failing royal connection and public image. I hope she denies them that photo, which will only be used by the Sussexes for financial gain as they sell their link to a much-beloved monarch to the highest bidder.

Not a shred of Authority between them, but these two act as if they are eminent physicians/research scientists/Nobel laureates for medicine/physiology/diplomats and so on, rolled up in their very dubious persons?.

How come so many, who should know better, fail to see through them? Or is it simply that, because they advocate what everyone sees as a Good Thing, it's difficult to argues against them?

I read those demands the world do more vax for people. sigh. That comes off as well, nothing good or nice - only orders from talking heads but on paper.

It's generic not specific. Poor countries not this country, here are the logistics for transporting X number of vax, here are the people to help administer the vax and here is how it we will get it to all these places within this country. Done, just give the vax to us and the flight plan is already filed.

If my mom were reading it, she might make a comment about how it doesn't sound like they are using the magic words.
May I add `and here's all the equipment, such as fridges and the wherewithal to power them that is needed to keep some types of vaccine in good order, the communication system to alert people out in the sticks to know where to go, and the means of getting them there/getting the vaccine to them and not only enough trained vaccinators but the people to train them in the first place - and the money to do all that as well.'

@WBBM,

the fact is that a lot of people in developing countries do not trust vaccines, and for good reason. Often, strict hygiene standards aren't used when administering vaccines in those countries, so people become ill after receiving one. Also, the CIA has used vaccine drives for their nefarious purposes for years. Finally, some people believe that they are used to make people infertile to fulfill the government's policy of limited population growth.

There are a lot of parents in this country who are not convinced of the need for their 5 to 11-year-old children, many of whom have already had COVID with no sequelae, to have the vaccination. All of my grandchildren have had COVID; why should they be exposed to the vaccine which DOES have potentially fatal side effects? There are also a lot of people that have had 2 doses of Pfizer or Moderna who are questioning why they should take a third and fourth booster of the same vaccine that has quickly worn off. Some, like my husband who got the Delta variant about three and a half months after having the Pfizer vaccine, doesn't see why he should get the same vaccine that failed him the first time.

It people do not want the vaccine, it probably doesn't matter how much infrastructure is in place. If people do want the vaccine, the infrastructure has to be there.

On the other hand, many countries will donate a token amount of vaccines which will only be a small percentage of the number that was hoped for and she will claim victory and say that it was her intercesssion that was the influencing factor.

@GWAH:

I take your point about attitudes towards vaccination being another factor to be taken into account, as well as the need for infrastructure.

Here in the UK, husband and I had AZ for our first 2 shots in the spring, then Pfizer last week. No significant problems for us, no more than I'd expect for any jab.

That is apart from the injection I was given as a toddler, just after war - one of those `multi-pointed needle' (smallpox? diphtheria? My first boss had the latter as a child in the 1920s - he was in a ward with 20+ other children with it and was the only one that survived). On that occasion I screamed the place down and was reassured that I didn't have to have another one until I was 12, really grown-up!

I also recall the fear of TB and polio in the 1950s. I know that improvements in sanitation and general living standards have gone a long way towards preventing such epidemics but that takes time.

It may be personal choice, I suppose, provided one accepts the consequences.

Royal Expert Warns Meghan Markle of the ‘Biggest Problem’ She Could Face in the Near Future

Ever since she stepped down as a senior royal in 2020 with Prince Harry, Meghan Markle has been trying to establish a brand in the United States. However, according to a royal expert, Meghan could soon face an unexpected “problem” that might cost her some PR points.

Meghan’s popularity has been declining this past year. According to research firm YouGov, she has been receiving less favorability in both the United Kingdom and the United States. In the U.K., Meghan is the second-least popular royal, just ahead of Prince Andrew.
. . .
According to royal commentator Neil Sean, Meghan’s reputation could be affected by another “problem” in the future. Sean pointed out that, in the near future, there are books coming out about Meghan. The authors of these books might talk to people who have secrets about the duchess.

“These particular books are really interesting, I find,” Sean said in a YouTube video, “because when you get an unauthorized biography, what you normally find—and I’ve written quite a few myself—is that people come out of the woodwork wanting to reveal all.”

Sean went on to note that, while it’s possible these people are discarded friends, others could be people that one would overlook, such as waiters and cab drivers.

“These are the people that—and I don’t mean this rudely—tend to blend in,” Sean said. “When you get in a cab and you think the cab driver is not listening. They’re always listening. And that’s going to be the biggest problem for Meghan going forward.”
. . .
[Tom] Bower added, “But I think, much to her dismay, more will come out. I think Thomas is keeping some things back and that he has a lot of embarrassing stuff on her. There are skeletons in the closet and, when provoked, I think the secrets could all come out.”

Bring on these books! (One can dream)

Good grief! Her generosity knows no bounds 🙄. And is this for her lattes that she was promoting?
Were I one of the people receiving her magnanimous caffeinaceous bounty, I'd tell her where to put it. I don't know what Starbucks coffee's like on the other side of the Atlantic, but to me, the stuff they sell over here is vile. What she's hawking is, IMO, only fit for use in an enema - and I can suggest a candidate or two for that.

@WBBM,

no one talks about it, but there were many controversies about the vaccines we consider to be safe now like polio, etc. When they were rolled out, people were dying of them because of problems in the ingredients they were using.

Let's also not forget that those vaccines kill the diseases they are supposed to treat, unlike the vaccines they are trying to force everyone to have. Unlike these vaccines, which are only supposed to mitigate the risk, and this, for only a short period of time, and have not been fully tested to see what the effects will be years from now.

Also, 40% of the people hospitalized due to covid are fully vaccinated, and there's only a 13% difference between vaccinated and unvaccinated in transmission rates.

In the US the average hourly wage is varies by area.
I’d guess it’s currently now a minimum of about $15.00 an hour, and overtime is typically time and a half, so that’s $22.50 an hour.

Many factors affect hourly wage, more now with Covid.
supply & demand of workers- currently there is an over supply of jobs and not enough people that want to work or can fill the skill requirement, for example truckers, nurses, etc.
in addition many companies, local governments, etc, have begun requiring employees to be vaccinated, so the unvaxxed are being put on leave or fired, resulting in more job openings that aren’t being filled.
there are many other factors invlolved, but $ 25.00 is chicken feed.

@GWAH No offense taken. My research is entirely solid. I'm in Canada.
Girl with a Hat said…
@OKay,

the data aren't that different in Canada. The Delta variant seems to be able to bypass the immunity offered by the vaccine.
I'm in UK.

We know perfectly well that the vaccine doesn't give complete immunity but that's no reason not to have it. No vaccine gives total protection.

Those who die here now are, so far, overwhelmingly the unvaccinated. Those who've got the bug, but aren't critical, are mainly the younger people now - those who thought it'd only get the old 'uns, so they still crowd , and the children we haven't yet vaccinated.

Andrew Wakefield's MMR `research' was found to be flawed to the point of being fraudulent, his theory completely debunked and he was struck off. So he went to the US and now, allegedly, is making a fortune from those who believe him.

I assume we've all thought about it and come to our settled decisions, even the H$Ms. They've decided to exploit it for their own ends.
@WBBM

I completely agree. 🤗
Girl with a Hat said…
@WBBM,

the mortality rates between vaccinated and unvaccinated aren't that different. Transmittability neither.

It's not like a normal vaccine. Normal vaccines like for example measles, will help you prevent the disease altogether. that's not the case with the mRNA vaccines. They will help your immune system produce a defense against the disease, but for those whose immune systems don't function that well, it won't help much. Also, some variants of the disease seem to be able to bypass any immunity that the vaccines confer.

I'm dropping the issue now because this isn't a blog about vaccines.

A lot of places have staff on salary so you don't get overtime when you work late. They might give you some comp time but not a guarantee. Salary, working late unpaid and then someone gives you a gift card for $25? Not sure how many hours this was over or how many days but that seems tiny compared to how many hours people probably put in.

I've seen gift cards from Starbucks used in the "Holiday Gift Steal Game" where they and a make it yourself paper narcissus were the most fought over (Set gift price, draw by numbers and pick a box, when you get your gift, if you don't like it, you can walk over and steal/take someone else's opened gift and put yours back in the pick pile. Some places have a limit to the number of times a gift can be "stolen"). Another one of those charming supposed to fun corporate games which ended in the last couple of years - thank goodness.

I'm not wild about Starbucks coffee, more into some of the other stuff. Their food always looks good and tasty but just never seems to as good as it looks.

"Social media posts have claimed that those who have received a COVID-19 vaccine are more six times more likely to die from being infected by variants than those who have not been inoculated. While the data was indeed taken from a Public Health England (PHE) briefing held in June, it was taken out of context...In England, approximately 85% of the adult population have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 65% are fully inoculated, Dr Cevik [clinical lecturer in infectious diseases and medical virology at the University of St Andrews] said.

'When most people are vaccinated, most infections and deaths are expected to be among those vaccinated,' she added.

The vaccination program also prioritised 'clinically vulnerable' individuals, and thus the majority of those vaccinated will 'disproportionately represent elderly and those with underlying comorbidities, who are already at significant risk of hospitalisation and death,' Dr Cevik, said.

"The posts do not consider the overall higher number of cases due to the Delta variant for those who are unvaccinated compared to those who are inoculated...

"Missing context. Vaccinated people are not at higher risk of dying from the Delta variant than those who are unvaccinated. The figures were taken out of context from a PHE briefing released in June."

I’d guess it’s currently now a minimum of about $15.00 an hour, and overtime is typically time and a half, so that’s $22.50 an hour.

When you also said that 25US$ is "chicken feed," did you mean that the Harkles' staff would be earning more than minimum wage or that they obviously did more than an hour's work and were only "paid" for an hour?

@Teasmeade
Were these clerical workers helping * with her written campaign? So let's say--and I'm not trying to start a thread here, but we can--that's $21.54/hr, which is $42,000 a year (I searched on "administrative asst average starting pay") a year. So time and a half for that would be $32.00-ish an hour.

Assuming that this is what the Harkles' staff could reasonably expect . . . I'd see why the gift card was insulting. The last time I was "paid" that way was when I was a student, helping the paid staff out with orientation. (It was considered volunteer work, but they also wanted to say thank you.)

My current employer is and my last two employers were all very professional about tracking and compensating overtime, but my very first boss was not. It was generally accepted that teachers would stay until "late" working on things the school needed them to do. The principal would sometimes make up for it by buying us all dinner, but we always accepted it grudgingly. No one liked the situation, but if you even talked of reporting it to a labor authority, you weren't being "a team player" -- or worse, you were a diva. I can only imagine what kind of work culture the Harkles have among their staff.

Where I live, it's considered a delicious treat. The simple coffee orders (which includes lattes, mocchas, et. al.) are obviously overpriced, so people who want to feel they're getting their money's worth order one of the fancier blended drinks. There are other cafés which offer blended drinks, but there's still some shine to Starbucks's "Frappuccino" trademark.

I'm more of a tea drinker, and when I compare what they charge for a tea latte to what I paid for the tea, milk, spices and sugar I have at home, I get a little woozy. I only order it when I'm with friends who really want to get the day's treat there.

This was my own initial thought. Even if the value of the gift card did cover some of what they would have been entitled to, I doubt it covered the full amount.

A truly "classy" gesture would have been to compensate them fairly and to buy them dinner. For each night they had to be there. And for those who had to work really late, to get them rideshares and follow up that they got home safely. But there's only so much you can skim off the Archewell donations, I guess!
Just for the record, I drink my coffee b- (Whoops! I mean `without milk') and without sugar. It was a sad day for me when Starbucks took over Little Chef on many of our main roads - and the dismal décor is the end!
It's a measure of how much disdain and how little respect she has for those she considers born to serve her.

In medieval England it was considered bad form to eat the thick slice of bread on which one's meat was served because that's what the servants got for dinner; I think it was probably the origin of the later habit of cutting the crusts off bread and always leaving something on the plate. If guests scoffed the lot, the servants went hungry and revealed themselves as being ill-mannered.

I think I've mentioned before how every `friend' who proved to be a narcissist cut the nose off the brie - it's a good test, as long as one has kept some off the cheese back, to be sure of getting a look-in after they've gone..

SwampWoman - Ha! Charles does need that boob reduction.

I am more intrigued with the Last Chance Saloon comment by Charles. Sounds like someone has been watching reruns of Petticoat Junction on Amazon Prime

I am thinking someone is shuttering in her cashmere lined boots (only available on Meghan's Mirror) King William is not a good prospect for her ;-)

This actually would have been a great time to be papped. She wouldn't have to worry about casting a convincing child actor for "Archie" because she could put a mask on him!

Do you suppose even the paparazzi are sick of her?
snarkyatherbest said…
Enbrethiliel - or maybe the paps are being paid by the BRF for any pics so they dont see the light of day. She calls, they take pics give her $500 and the BRF buys them so they dont show up anywhere. Genius plot if so !

It would even funnier if the BRF didn't even have to pay competitive prices for the photos because they weren't worth that much to the tabloids to begin with!

She's amazing. It takes a much loved, time proven, female world leader to say it. But will they listen? More than likely the ego reigns in most of them.

Markle speaking at the on-line NYT economic forum: Harry's money paid for it, and her PR firm lobbied hard for a place for her. Nobody invited her. Money buys a lot of supposed influence. Markle ain't got any influence. She's boring, and has a basic education. When she speaks people will use that time to use the rest room, get a drink of water or a coffee, etc.

TBW has over exposed herself and the dog. People are getting bored, and yawning when their names come up.

Prince Harry's name was "glaringly" left out of the Queen's speech to the COP26 climate change summit despite her immense praise for Prince William and Prince Charles, a body language expert has claimed.

Although the speech highlighted an extremely important issue, the failure to mention Prince Harry while covering his older brother and father in praise will not go unnoticed, body language expert Judi James claims.

are they going to buy farm land and plant trees?

@GWAH. * on her 🧹 broom, Thanks for the laugh. Americans dislike hypocrites and empty suits which pretty much sums up the Harkles.
Interesting about that other country.

I'm not surprised, given her known links with a couple of very dodgy people. I heard the rumour that they were keeping a `close eye on her' (NB euphemism!) via one of her female `friends', in summer 2020 - I can guess who they meant.

To be fair, I'm not convinced that HM's not mentioning Harry in her speech meant anything against him. She didn't name any of her other children or grandchildren either; just the two next in line to the throne. Of course, none of that will stop H's wife from taking it all very personally, which is delightful in itself.

"Democrats add four weeks paid family leave to Biden’s spending plan after campaign from Meghan Markle:"

I'm sure that Markle believes this, but why is the DM going along with this???

Apparently, she has somehow obtained the private tel numbers of both Democrats and Republicans and has been calling them from a blocked number and introducing herself as "Duchess of Sussex". I guess that she fancies herself as Netflix's Frank Underwood.

I can't understand why she continues this Duchess farce when meddling in American politics. If this is what she wants to do, she should do it as an American and not as exiled royalty.
abbyh said…
I'm thinking that you may be correct about it being more about the next two in line. I suspected they were also already planning to attend this as the topic is something already associated with them so it was an extension of existing plans and they were not just place holders for her absence.

Not everything which happens is some kind of slam. Sometimes it is about other things which are not intended as some kind of snub. Like the way the photos were about updating existing photos of the direct line of succession. (Which the other siblings were not attending either.)
snarkyatherbest said…
Paid family leave has been talked about for years. She just jumped on a bandwagon that was already rolling. I am sure she is recording her side on film for the Netflix documentary.
snarkyatherbest said…
Oh and she is begging them to take away her titles. She keeps pushing and pushing and the BRF is not biting. They know people are getting tired of her and her exiled royalty antics. The value of her brand is so diminished even the Dollar Tree isnt biting!

https://www.eschatonblog.com/2021/11/do-clap-popular-clap-things-clap.html

this explains why the Dems re-introduced the family leave into their bill. Basically, it's because women in Virginia swung heavily Republican in yesterday's election for Virginia governor so they are trying to find issues that appeal to women voters.
Artemisia19 said…
From Politico:
"Here's the deal: Democrats are the ones behind the party-line social spending bill that could include paid leave. But none other than Meghan Markle is calling senators in both parties about the topic. Capito got an unexpected call from the duchess.

“I couldn’t figure out how she got my number,” the West Virginia Republican added. Capito wasn't alone in the GOP: Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) also got a call from the erstwhile royal.

Who sent Meghan? Sen. Kirsten Gilibrand (D-N.Y.), who's pushed her party to include paid leave in its social spending bill, said Wednesday that she gave senators' numbers to Markle. "I talked to each of the women senators and let them know that she's going to reach out, because she only completed two of the calls," Gillibrand said. "She's going to call some others, so I let them know in advance."

"She wants to be part of a working group to work on paid leave long term and she's going to be. Whether this comes to fruition now or later, she'll be part of a group of women that hopefully will work on paid leave together."

— Sen. Kirsten Gilibrand (D-N.Y.) on Markle

Working with narcs? Misery!

They take over.

My experience is that they elect themselves chairperson but are seldom challenged as `they get things done' and it's too much trouble to stand up to them. They are petty dictators.

My friendship-group was considering a memorial to one of our departed number. Instead of us all making donations that we felt able to give, then deciding what to do, the narc informed us of what we'd be doing and how much we'd each have to contribute, with no regard for us all having different depths of pocket. Not the way to do it.
Elsbeth1847 said…
I saw that article about the contacting people and a desire to become a part of a group to work to push for certain legislation (unspecified).

hmmm.

If you want to be a mover and shaker, people have to be able to call you so you need an unblocked phone number.

I don't know.

Maybe she wants to try to work the system this way for people she can use to try to get support for her to be either some sort of paid position or a run for political office. Working groups tend to be a lot of volunteer and not so much paid. (Saving the money for thank you gifting and goodie bags filled with stuff to remember why you want to vote for this or that bill)

I would have said sort of like Huma's job because of the visibility but I don't see her being able to work long term under someone and be at their beck and call 24/7. I've done that and it is miserable. You either are with them, usually being told this, that, do this (no magic words), you didn't do this exactly how I wanted it (which wasn't specified), the instructions from that point on are micromanaged until the reason for that is forgotten so it drifts back to you call to verify (how stupid are you that you need to check with me, just do it) and then mistakes are made or you are dreading the next call - which is not a relaxing down time moment).

Besides, she would really need to move to Washington.

What I want to know is where and who will be invited to what if Prince William and Catherine make a USA visit. And, what will Catherine wear?

LavenderLady said…
So the tea on TBW making cold calls to politicians has hit the DM.

She will NEVER be elected to any office worth anything in the major leagues. Delusions of grandeur. Again.

She looks foolish, erratic, and untrustworthy. They are questioning how she got phone numbers. Oprah?

I can't even fathom working with her on a team for any issue. She has not proven that she can even be a team player. She seems to create havoc wherever she lands. Sure we all have bad days and blips but the measure of our character is do we recognize or faults? Do we make amends for our faults? Do we grow and become better as a result of our shortcomings? To me, that's a valued team member. Not those who think they are fault free and perfect, who refuse to do better. Like other Nutties have said, I too had my share of working with those types in my career. Never again

She's done NOTHING to show the world she's capable of being trusted.

I started thinking about how time passes when reading some of the articles about the birthday.  It was interesting to think about it from the different points of view.  Besides, it kind of fits as a follow up the last post (the whole saga of can the two brothers reunite). So there is the requisite article about how he will be getting all kinds of money willed to him from his great-grandmother.  There were stories about Princess Anne as trustee (and not allowing earliest access to it all).  Whether or not any or all of this is true (there was money for him and/or other kids) has been debated with claims she actually died owing money with the Queen paying the debts to avoid scandal.  Don't know but I seem to remember that royal estates are shrouded from the public so we may not (ever) know.
