"Travalyst", Sunshine Sachs, and Harry's crumpled grey business suit

It's been quite a day in the Harry and Meghan world - and the previous installment of the blog is collapsing under the weight of numerous comments.

Accordingly, here's a placeholder new post with plenty of room for new comments.

What do you think of the "Travalyst" initiative, the Sussexes' hiring of Sunshine Sachs with Sussex Foundation (Disney) money, and Harry's insistence on turning up in the same crumpled grey suit and musty brown suede shoes for every Royal engagement?

Poor Edward Lane Fox (Harry's former private secretary and de-facto keeper and valet) must need a prescription for Xanax.

lolol @Mailcrate - can I drink mine next to Don Draper?
Lol Ellie fascinating and terribly dodgy, what a murky world we live in!

I’ve just seen the new headline that the Sussex’s have snubbed The Queen for that visit at Balmoral (that never really was!). I hope Nutty does a new post for that little morsel!
Well of course you don't snub the Big Boss! She might look nice and sweet and might be called 'Granny' but boy oh boy, there's only so much rope left to hang.

But here's an alternative take, what if, this particular piece, that Meg snubbed the Queen was actually slipped by BP? By this point, the palace doesn't even have to lie or make up stories. They just have to say it like it is, and that's enough shade.

They let slip that the Queen was snubbed. Just like they let slip that the money for Sunshine Sachs is not coming from the palace, but from the new yet-to-be launched foundation.

Mischi, as I said, she will be being briefed but that is all. She is making decisions based on briefings to do with the constitution and her role in it and not getting involved in the complicated political fight that it has become. That is very different indeed.

I remember this happening. The story was that it was all kept secret that Harry was in the warzone and then the enemy found out he was there so his safety was compromised. The thing is, he was being followed around by camera crews and journalists so of course they would find out. He was never going to stay and fight properly. Know of any other soldiers that have camera teams and bodyguards following them around? It was an expensive bit of PR fluff.

It would appear that if this 9 million rumour is tree then perhaps it is a similar set up to the Clinton foundation? Donations to the PH/MM charity can be used to fund their lifestyles as a lot of what they do can be expensed to it e.g. Fly to France on a private jet and stay for a 3 week holiday but oh look, there's a charity event they are going to for one night and he/she is giving a speech. Of course it would fall apart if people look closely but guess what, they won't.

And Elle, thank you, this comment encapsulated what I feel to be overly bitchy sniping at every...little...thing:

"If valid points can be minimized b/c of outlandish points, they will be. "

@ Nutty I'm not sure but the Tindalls might be keeping their heads down as it emerged they were also doing grubby stuff for money. Basically one of them was paid over 100k per year for not doing much other than being 'friends' with a businessman to give him access to people. Not a good look.

Mischi, consulting legal advisers who give her advice which she then follows is not exactly being in the middle of things. She is not instigating anything to do with Brexit, not taking sides, not plotting like the rest of them. The advice will be from a constitutional stand point regarding what she/parliament can or can't do and that's it. She can't start anything, or influence anything. If she did for either side and it was found out then it would probably be all over for the Royal Family.

Thanks for the simple and clear analysis of what the problem is r.e. the 2.1s and 2.2s! So many things become a word salad and this way of looking at it cut to the heart of the matter.

You're welcome, @Bootsy. IMO, it is important that PH looks like he had a good romp of some kind and then fell asleep in his suit at someone else's house -- it's just not one of *the* most important things. I know nothing about PR, but I do know that in arbitration/mediation/other business/negotiation entanglements, it's important to prioritize the issues and address the highest priority effectively. By proceeding that way, it's more likely you'll hit your target, and then the lower priority issues will either go away or be addressed later. That is my personal feeling re PH's sartorial blunders.

It's rather like Fauxrchie -- when the tin hats come out and it spins too far out to WTFland (a place where the dumbartons do feel safe traveling with their bambino, it seems), then all discussion re Fauxrchie's physical composition gets shut down. Hell, even I shut down about it.

And that's sad.

Because the truth is that since the pregnancy announcement, things have been increasingly complex and bizarre with the dumbartons. That's when the outrageous privacy issues arose. The birth, the secrecy, etc. seems to have put tinsel and lights on what was previously just an annoying situation (the Dumbartons themselves). Now it's these surreal machinations that are bat merde bonkers of the highest order from the dumbartons. Yet, by getting too far out there, the more conservative types run like hell from even reasonable discussion about Fauxrchie. That seems (IMO only) to diffuse focus on the real source of the real problem and when it started.

Harry hot a new suit for the Invictus Games photo op. His people must read this site or Harry Markle which also did a post about his crumpled grey/light blue suits and wretched old shoes.

I think it sounds like Travel-A-List, probably because that’s what they really mean.

Gosh It Is Quiet In Here

There just hasn't been a lot from really either of them together or individually lately, has there? But why? Have they blown all their bridges, connections and are down to toss the proverbial kitchen sink for attention? I don't know.  We've heard that moving vans showed up at the house.  And nothing more like pictures from a neighbor happy to see the back of them. We've heard they bought a house on Portugal.   But the wording was kind of funny.  Multiple sources of the same thing - yes but that isn't a guarantee of proof as it could all be from the same source.  It was more along the lines of "We've been told that...".  It came off as a we really don't know if we believe this to be true or not so we are putting it out there but hedging our bets.  Or at least it did to me. And nothing more like exactly when, where or for how much or when they might visit it again.  Or pictures of the awesome inside.  Or outside.  Or requisite ...

As Time Passes and We Get Older

I started thinking about how time passes when reading some of the articles about the birthday.  It was interesting to think about it from the different points of view.  Besides, it kind of fits as a follow up the last post (the whole saga of can the two brothers reunite). So there is the requisite article about how he will be getting all kinds of money willed to him from his great-grandmother.  There were stories about Princess Anne as trustee (and not allowing earliest access to it all).  Whether or not any or all of this is true (there was money for him and/or other kids) has been debated with claims she actually died owing money with the Queen paying the debts to avoid scandal.  Don't know but I seem to remember that royal estates are shrouded from the public so we may not (ever) know. However, strange things like assisting in a book after repeated denials have popped up in legal papers so nothing is ever really predicable.   We are also seein...

Will She or Won't She?

I am talking about Catherine and Trooping the Color. It's barely over a week away and will she/won't she decision is leaning toward not in public media. The ceremony is almost three and a half hours beginning really at 10, parade starting 10:30 and flyover at 1.   That's a long time even if you are sitting.  Especially if you have not been out in public in a long time plus you have or feel you have to be the face of being the parent while your spouse is busy being officially second to His Majesty.  And He won't be on a horse this time (uproar over tradition). Yeah but, but ... what if she showed up for just part of it, like the flyover? OH, that would be heartwarming after worrying about her as she has been coping with her disease.   But ... eh, my guess is not.  Just because if she showed up, it would become the Catherine's back show instead of the celebration of the King's birthday.  And Catherine is known for being able to  be in the...
