Of course, we all hope Philip will recover and go on to enjoy Christmas with his family - but he is 98 years old.

I have to apologize to you for what happened over @Liverbird grilling me about the 'deleted Santa video'. I thought she was satisfied with my post quoting you partly but maybe I made it worse because I used the word "official'. I didn't know she would keep hanging on like a 'dog with a bone' but i was off cooking an elaborate marinated duck and wasn't available to correct my use of one word. Sorry again for this. I described you as being kind and careful with your posts. Seems like some today have (as we in Texas say) 'have their stinger out'.

@Mischi Totally agree with you. I feel the insult towards Canada with such a proposal of hosting H&M. I wouldn’t let those two near my goldfish. Some have been commenting about Meg going into U.S. politics. That’s a joke! She would be shredded to bits with her background. She can’t even manage to properly shake hands and can’t “thrive” when criticized for being unkempt and uncouth. Talk about her entering the wrong kind of profession.

I am beginning to think Megs (and I say this with trepidation as I don't normally like to speculate and never when it comes to mental issues of another) is bipolar with her grandiose ideas of what she thinks she is and what she can accomplish (ie. millions of dollars in donations, etc...), She is flat out crazy if she thinks she can go into politics, that will be a bigger failure than her attempt to be a married-in royal.
I said a prayer(s) for your loved one with cancer and I regularly say prayers anyway for the sick, the oppressed and the poor of the world. My brother beat 4th stage leukemia and he went on a strict diet of high protein (using protein powders), reducing meat and drinking vegetable juices but most of all praying to the Holy Spirit and reading the Bible hours each day (and still does).
I hope these OT remarks don't get me in trouble but deep at night (in US) it is usually safe.

Meg is the only one who thinks Harry as GG in Canada is a good idea. Precisely because she does not follow rules anyway and would just promptly relocate herself to Toronto. She’d then wonder why everyone doesn’t understand her. She’d say the whole country has an unconscious racial bias. She’d make a documentary about how being made to live outside Toronto would just be surviving and not thriving. She’d be voted the most poorly treated person of the year.

Pushing for Harry to be GG by planting stories in the media seems like a Megsy thing to do. She seems to get an idea, rush full tilt into it (not thinking through anything rationally and reasonably) and then often loses interest and revisits the issue/organisation briefly when she needs it for PR.
Imagine having Meghan, as a USA citizen, lording it over Canadians, making speeches, wearing designer clothes and more and more new jewellery, and even, lord help us, belly cupping with that smug look on her face, clinging onto Harry (when not patronisingly leading him) with that adoring look on her face (we know from her acting career that it is one of her poses), acting all girlish ...! Nah, Canadians are good people and do not deserve such a fate!
Secondly, the ex-Lieutenant Governor General of Quebec (like the GG of a province), who was in a wheel chair, was recently convicted of embezzling $400k of tax payer money by claiming expenses which she was not entitled to and padding invoices. She served her 18 month term in a prison despite being in her 70's and in a wheel chair.
Members of Parliament and cabinet ministers routinely get scrutinised in the press for $10,000 junkets to international congresses and $2,000 lunches. Do you think that Meghan with her $100k dresses would be acceptable to the general population? She knows no restraint when spending other people's money. I am surprised that Jessica Mulroney with her political connections (her father-in-law is the ex-PM of Canada) wouldn't have explained the situation to Meghan.
Finally, Justin Trudeau has a minority government as I already mentioned. Someone has announced that he will be keeping a low profile for the next 4 years as everyone recognises that his propensity for being prominent in social media has cost him a lot of votes. Do you think that in this situation, he would want to appoint Meghan's husband, the village idiot, as GG.
