Meghan's "voice" goes silent, but probably not for long

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been rather quiet over the past week, and no man could be happier about this than Boris Johnson.

In addition to having to supervise negotiations over the Sussexes' security costs abroad - surely if security were cut back and an incident occurred, Johnson's government would be blamed - Boris has to worry about Meghan's determination to "use her voice" when it comes to politics.

Having just put his signature on Brexit, Boris badly needs a trade deal with the Americans. And for that, he must remain friendly with Donald Trump.

Meghan doesn't like Donald Trump, and she will probably be saying so soon, possibly as soon as her first post-Megxit TV appearance.

Overestimates her influence

Meghan, like most celebrities, probably overestimates her political influence. Even Taylor Swift, who has a large and devoted fanbase, struck out with her very first political endorsement in 2018 - she put her name behind a (male) Democrat running against a (female) Republican in her home state of Tennessee, and the woman won.

That said, Meghan is gifted at causing chaos wherever she goes, and if she inserts herself into the political scene that would be no exception.

What would it mean for a member of the British Royal Family to be openly attacking the leader of one of the UK's longstanding allies? You don't have to like Donald Trump to think this is a bad idea. Would anyone have wanted to know, say, Prince Edward's opinion of Barack Obama?

The Royal Family is by definition apolitical, Prince Charles's repeated appearances with Greta Thunberg notwithstanding. Endorsing one candidate or another weakens support for the institution as a whole.

Not that Meghan cares.

Will Meg run for office?

There have been various media suggestions that Meg might run for office herself. I don't think she will or could.

First of all, a political campaign requires organization, and it requires a talented and hard-working staff. Meg has already shown herself to be completely incompetent if not dehumanizing when it comes to managing a team. (Something which has been a big negative for current candidate Amy Klobuchar.)

Secondly, a political campaign requires hundreds of in-person appearances and handshakes, precisely the job Meg ran away from in the Royal Family. You can't campaign for any office sitting home and posting Photoshopped images to Instagram.

Finally, as a real-life candidate has to be ready to deal with harsh media criticism and still rise to the occasion when the going gets tough. No one "asks if they're OK."

What I can see Meg doing is trying to ally herself with "the Squad", four left-wing women of color who are pushing the Democratic party to the left. Their most prominent face is Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez of New York, who has endorsed Bernie Sanders for President.

Will Meg do the same? The vision of a woman who chose to marry into a reformed feudal institution and is currently living off the largess of its largest duchy endorsing a Socialist candidate is delicious in its irony.

Not that Meghan cares.

The story on Doria

What does Meghan care about? She cares about her image, or what she thinks is her image, which is why she spends so much money on PR in the past and apparently continues to do so.

Today's Mail On Sunday leads with a long-winded article about Meghan's mother Doria Ragland which managed to answer almost none of the questions people are really asking about Doria, such as where she was during Meg's teenage years and what she does all day now.

(There's also nothing about her current partner, who is reportedly a woman. That's fine by me - the poor lady never asked to get involved in Meghan's mess.)

We do learn that Doria makes an excellent shrimp gumbo, a recipe she passed on to Meghan, that she has remained on friendly terms with Thomas Markle, and that the three of them spent Thanksgiving 2016 at a house rented by Prince Harry in Beverly Hills. "There were no servants, just the family," the article states.

That sounds like a clue of some sort, the sort of thing the MoS drops into the very bottom of an article for readers to follow up on. I'm not sure what it means. Anyway, why was Prince Harry renting a house in Beverly Hills?

Post-Megxit Honeymoon Phase

If Meg were smart, she'd use this post-Megxit honeymoon phase with the US media, or at least some portions of it, to burn off the most embarrassing parts of her story and move forward.

Did Doria spend time in prison? Now's a good time to tell Oprah, perhaps link it to some kind of statement for corrections reform, and sob about how you as a teenager tried to cope with your Mom so far away.

Is Archie not really "from the body" as advertised? Let everyone know now, and tell Ellen DeGeneres about the pain of infertility, especially when living in the spotlight.

So broke during your acting years that you had to be a "ten cents a dance girl" for wealthy men? Say it now, while (some people) like you and will sympathize with your struggle. (The year that the movie "Hustlers" was considered for an Academy Award nomination might mean the time is right.)

The Mnuchin factor

Otherwise, someone else will release the story, and you won't be in control of it.

Someone else like Steve Mnuchin, Trump's Treasury Secretary, who was reportedly one of her "ten cents a dance" clients.

If Meg starts going after Trump, will Trump encourage Mnuchin to retaliate? Mnuchin has an active Twitter account.

A subtle dig in a Tweet from Mnuchin like, "The Duchess of Sussex, whom I have known for more than a decade, was in Washington to protest today" might be highly unpleasant for US-UK bilateral relations.

Not that Meghan cares.

Funny you mention that, as it is precisely that, a gourmet blend made from cream cheese with honey mixed in along with fresh lavender flowers (looks beautiful) on brioche toast or for some, spread on scones/biscuits. Myself, I love the toast and a sweet latte with extra whipping cream on top.

Oh. Ma. Stars.

Nacho has been playing polo with Harry for years...I don’t know to what extent their relationship goes beyond meeting at polo tournaments several times a year. If they only meet at polo, it would be very odd for Harry to confide how many times he’s been suicidal if they only meet at Polo, it would be very odd for Harry to confide how many times he’s been suicidal in that context. Does Nacho have Harry’s OK to spread this story to add fuel to his “mental health” excuses for quitting his family? As with anything the heart goes put out, I’m not sure I believe it. What I can’t believe however, is that Harry has threatened a number of times to commit suicide as a way of emotionally blackmailing his family into giving him what he wants...A free pass for all his bad behavior. I do think he’s emotionally vulnerable, with poor coping skills. And if he wasn’t in danger of committing suicide before, he certainly could be now that all his props have been taken away. He has made it extremely difficult for any concerned friends or family to help him now and is too stubborn to
admit he needs help in any case. It is not looking good for Harry to be thriving anytime soon.

Our Tumblr sisters have posted Photos of a beaten down looking woman identified as the Harkles house keeper coming out of a supermarket in Vancouver with a cart said to contain Coca-Cola and various other mixers for cocktails. So it seems like the abstinent lifestyle Of no booze, no additives, and all natural Is a load of hooey. No sign of any baby items ha ha. No actual food was listed. There must be at least one pep who follow this lady From the oligarchs chalet To the supermarket to identify her as such, or she could just be a completely random customer for all we know. The natives are getting restless if the only thing left to take pictures of is the Harkles domestics. Haz and Meg’s aren’t venturing outside. Only each other and a baby doll for company oh my.

Just revisited Arthur Edwards, Sun photographer, excellent Sun article re Meg, Diana & Clooney dated 14 Feb 2019. He told Clooney “he should stick to selling fancy coffee” & keep his nose out of the Royal soap opera. Been pretty quiet since?
Arthur said they, the press, have contacted Meg twice regarding meeting with royal photographers, she declined.

When I first read this article last year, I’m paraphrasing, Arthur also said that UK media won’t touch paps photos, no one would print them so no market. He also said Will & Kate have an agreement with media, Kate will photograph their children & 3-4 times a year will send them to the media to publish. Everyone happy. This last paragraph from my recollection, has now been omitted from the original article?

Not sure of website, I just googled Arthur Edwards & George Clooney (14 Feb 2019)
Great article.

I, for one, will fully admit schadenfreuede here, only because the Harkles have had many, many chances to redeem themselves and have refused, so they bring it on themselves.

As for Harry's emotional blackmail, I will mourn if he goes through with it. Hope he doesn't. But perhaps …… well, I hope he doesn't.

I WOULD like to see the end of the doll saga, though. Not only that, but would like to see the end of Markle's shenanigans as well. I don't see her, or them, making much money out of it, not now, anyway.

This comment might get lost, but I don't know when Nutty will post again, so here we go!

Got new intel from my source. Apparently, he's connected to Trevor and when I asked what happened in that marriage, he said that Meghan cheated on Trevor. And not just once. He said that he doesn't know if the marriage was basically over or what at that point -- she was in Canada working on Suits at the time -- but there was quite a bit of cheating. He said Trevor is a really nice, regular guy who makes a decent living in the industry.

He also said that Meghan is on the verge of signing with agent. He also said that he was informed last summer that H & M planned to move to L.A. and that it's the end game.

He still doesn't know anything about the pregnancy being real or not, but he is very interested in finding out, so perhaps I'll get some news on that soon.

It may have been in Saanich. It was a large grocery store. I am not familiar with the amenities on the island. I’m not saying this was necessarily the Harkles employee; She was presented as such, but she had a very small basket of items for such a trip. Seems like they could get deliveries in bulk and wouldn’t have to go anywhere. Just reporting that those pictures are out there, but the lady could be any body.

One tip, English Lavender is preferable to French Lavender. Varieties such as 'Royal Velvet' and 'Cachet' are two good varieties of English Lavender. Be careful not too many direct flowers as it can to some people have a soapy taste. hence why they are sometimes soaked in milk/cream of left to stand in sugar, but then you don't have the prettiness of the flower blossoms.

@Elle Good advice :) I was absolutely inconsolable when I got that “George Clooney newsflash” from my friend. In hindsight, I am so embarrassed by my reaction. Now, I could care less and as long as he’s not hurting anyone, I hope he’s happy.

The source was my best-friend’s family friend. I met her when she came to their apartment and knew she was who she claimed to be. However, now with more life experience, I’d have asked her “how she defined gay?” because psychologists and sociologists have trouble pinning that definition down and “how she knew he was gay?” Sources always need to be tested, LOL.

It’s been hard to watch his old movies since his support of the Meg travesty. GC’s voice still makes me swoon though. Le sigh. LOL :)

Moving on, let’s see where the Meg car-crash goes from here. I am too invested in getting an Archie newsflash to walk away quietly ;)

I just started watching The Stranger on Netflix. A stranger comes up to a London family man at his son's soccer game and tells him that his wife lied about her pregnancy. He begins to investigate, and it looks like his wife used a moon bump to fool him. He starts following that lead. There's a tie-in to a satanic ritual, a cabal, a naked woman running from something/somebody in the woods, etc. This is all in episode one. Timely, huh.

It also has a great cast, including the wonderful Jennifer Saunders.

No, I wasn't the person who said they had met Obama. Just want to keep the record straight.

Meghan acting on screen again? Maybe a cameo role? She is not a good actress (too self involved and aware of her image to give herself over to a character and has had a taste of power in the BRF and her marriage, despite her whinging, so she is not going to take well to directing).

Production (compete with ex, so I still think his pap appearance was a shot against the bow). I think she would like the power of that but she wants attention, so maybe she would hold out for all the interviews and red carpet appearances after the movie.documentary series is made. Her grifting history does show a level of patience in her determination to get to the top.

Directing? What a nightmare she would be, going on and on in that annoying voice.

Personally I am hoping she is going to bully and buy her way into a directing spot because the tea (gossip) from that little adventure will be epic!

How you doing, I heard on the radio earlier the fires are getting worse in your area?

re the lack of photos of pregnant Queen - I recall there was quite a hoo-hah about a photo of a pregnant Diana in a bikini being published in the papers - that, if I remember rightly, was with William.

My mother (born 1906) held fast to the belief that, once a pregnancy showed, a woman shouldn't venture into public without a heavy coat, even in summer , in the grounds that it `wasn't nice'.

As for H not recognising who is driving him mad, one needs to check the situation out with a third party the moment one begins to ask the question `Is this really happening or is it my imagination?'

I speak from bitter experience - fat chance of that being allowed to happen here.

I've just made contact with a very distant cousin in BC - her take on it is the M is using Archie to blackmail H -`Do as I say or you won't have (contact with) your child.'

I understand the Queen not being photographed pregnant, I’m actually pleased she wasn’t. Slay me now, but it was right for the time. We have to understand that she was in a unique position for the times, as a woman heading up the Church of England, & as Queen.
Being seen heavily pregnant would have reduced her mystique & power, a high class housewife. Thank God for the Queen.

Meg looking for a house in LA sounds more like Harkles are asking for a freebie mansion in LA, but nobody has been willing to offer one yet.

How stupid the pathetic duo are. They are not going to have much privacy if they accept a freebie mansion from someone. The house could be bugged from top to bottom. They will be subjected to blackmail later on especially both of them haven’t been living a clean life.

Nothing in life is free. You are going to pay one way or the other eventually, especially in Hollywood.
Magatha Mistie:

Yes but… MM used the coat to draw attention to the `bump’. In the days when coats were used for concealment of pregnancy, women did their upmost to conceal any abdominal swelling, especially if unmarried, in case we were thought to have done something we shouldn’t. (We were also embarrassed by fat bottoms)

If we were young we were trussed up in Lycra girdles (anyone remember the Sarongster?) until tights came in and we had pastel-coloured pantygirdles like Lycra gym-gym shorts. My long-line ones came almost to my knees before I wore really short miniskirts. Our elders wore boned corsets, and possibly Directoire knickers. I’m talking about the mid-ish 1960s. Until then, our underwear was designed to keep us pure and chaste; any chap trying to get into one’s knickers could have quite a struggle.

When did flaunting a pregnant belly become trendy? Was it post-Demi Moore?

I see it as being in dubious taste becuaseit shows a lack of respect for those of us who, for whatever reason, have never been or have never been able to be, pregnant. I didn't choose to be in that category and I loathed MM's display of `Look me! Aren't I clever!' It’s not a bl**dy achievement requiring admiration.

Being asked if I have children/grandchildren is always awkward for me as I search for a socially-acceptable answer - I usually fall back on `Well, I married very late.' Inevitably, that's the end of the conversation.

At least I've avoided saying Husband no 1 went off the idea after he read the Which? report on how much children cost; no 2 was a narcissist after my money; I had medical problems; and I'm old-fashioned enough to believe children need 2 loving parents so going it alone was out of the question.

I reckon childless women are an oppressed group - something that doesn't occur to our `woke' sisters.
Sorry - too many `gym's there!

@elle: My "source" (I feel silly calling him that, but I don't want to get more specific) said that it doesn't matter she can't act -- he said that most people in Hollywood can't, when you get down to it, but that people will pay to see her. In his opinion, Meghan wants to be a big movie star, although I'm sure the merching is also part of the plan (he doesn't know anything about that). An agent could help her with both. He literally texted his agent friend while I was standing there to see if he'd "signed Meghan yet." It's crazy.

I asked about the yachting, too, and the rumors about that. He didn't know the answers, but said that he wouldn't surprised -- most of women in Hollywood (models, aspiring actresses, etc.) are involved. He said that American men don't usually pay the women to join, it's more about gifts and experiences.

Also, he said that he met Chelsy Davy over the summer for the first time. She broke up with Harry because she saw how the press treated Kate and she didn't want that life. Apparently, she and Kate were very close. He also said that Chelsy is one of the most charming women he's ever met and once he spent some time with her, he totally understood how she "hooked" Harry. Haha.

I saw on the Daily Mail this morning that the Sussexes are planning a move to LA, which is funny timing since I posted about that last night.

Finally, I asked him if Beatrice's wedding is still on. He said he doesn't know, but was at the engagement party; if I find out anything, I'll let you know.

@elle: Totally agree. Out of curiosity, I watched a couple of episodes of Suits recently and it was laughably bad. IMO, she'll probably attract a lot of interest solely based on the "curiosity factor" right out of the gate and fizzle fast.

Yes, I was the one who asked about WMWMG. Thank you for answering.

That is interesting about Wallis and the King regarding its use.I would not put it past Rach (with her feigned lack of knowledge about the Royals LOL) to have known this phrase was used by the King and suggested it to H! Who knows Wallis may also be one of Rach's royal role models in addition to Diana, being an American divorcee and all.

So fellow US Nutties, looks like the dynamic duo are hoping to move to LA this summer per an article up over at the
DM. Are we paying for this? I hope not.
And I thought the political activist said she was waiting until Trump was out of office? Kinda hypocritical it seems.
I guess she realized that she would be pushing 45 if she waited on his departure. A little old to be starting out in Hollywood I think.
Sadie Sunshine said…
@portcitygirl My source said that Canada is only a stayover in an attempt to make the end game to move to LA "less obvious" and to soften the blow of moving out of the U.K., but I don't think any of us keeping up on them bought the ruse. The move to LA has apparently been planned for a very long time.

Perhaps - if the Queen is still directing the response - there is no real understanding of today's internet and social media. HMQ may still be operating under the belief that if you ignore something or forbid paying attention to it, it will fall off the radar. That giving voice to something, gives it dignity. In the past, this would have been true. Just starve it of energy.
Today - you need to be proactive and indeed "play dirty and hard".

MM will not go away unless exposed. Fully.

@Sadie Sunshine, I agree, but didn't I read somewhere that due to taxation they wouldn't be able to live in the US or Canada full time? Can't remember the source. Still burns me that the US may have to pay for their security. I hope that won't be the case! Love your name!

I’m not in the least bit surprised to read this. 😏They will however have a difficult argument defending their need for privacy, and who is going to pay for their security? πŸ€”The Brits won’t want to, that notion will go down like a lead ballon. πŸ˜–I can’t see the American’s wanting to pay either.

@portcitygirl Thank you! Not sure about the taxes ... it's quite possible that's a problem that they haven't thought through. Meghan thinks the rules don't apply to her, anyway, and I doubt Harry has ever thought about taxes a day in his life.

Elle,
Thanks for asking - TBH your post to Charade re GC made me feel bad for her - it came off like you were scolding her, and she has always been such a nice presence here. It also made me remember that you once got upset with me many months ago when I made a comment about the very wealthy sometimes being sexually more experimental.

I'm guilty myself of having gotten upset over antagonistic pro-Meghan comments that came off as trolling and recent vile posts about the RF, but that seems different and many others shared my dislike for those posts. I would never "correct" someone over a differing opinion or for sharing some gossip on a gossip site. There are theories and rumors out there regarding Harry, Meghan, and Doria's sexuality and I don't want to be wary of posting thoughts about that angle for fear I might be reprimanded.

But anyway...all's good otherwise, and I look forward to more MM sleuthing. My current interest is her DM lawsuits and the recent blind about her wanting to back out!
Sadie Sunshine said…
@bluebell ... Forgot about the DM lawsuit! I'm going to see what I can find out (if anything) on my end and will report back if I find out something juicy.

@Elle, " Brad was TDF at the Oscars, however, and is single, so I wouldn't say I'm totally over him lol."

Another one of my Forest Gump comments here: I once lived in the little town Brad Pitt was born in, & at the same time. I'm not quite old enough to be his mother, but could have been a babysitter, if my parents had let me babysit anyone. (They wanted me to nerd up & stay home & study. Instead I used to sneak out with my friends who would steal one of their parents' cars while their parents were playing bridge or something. We'd drive around, drink beer, & smoke. All things we were too young to do. Just like any normal teenagers!)

In those days a lot of guys looked like Brad Pitt. I made the mistake of thinking that's what guys looked like all over the country. Wrong!

Oh, & I once saw Prince Charles play polo on the Mokuleia Polo Field in Hawaii. I'm incredibly old. Talk about carbon footprint. Hawaii is in the Pacific Ocean miles away from anything. If Charles brought in his own string of polo ponies, I hate to think of the amount of fuel it would require. Autre temps autre moeurs. The SST began flying at around the same time. (Have to mention the RF to stay on topic!)

Sometimes I really do feel like Forrest Gump. LOL.
Lt. Nyota Uhura said…
Charles has to have people dress him.

Ugh.
Have just been reflecting on something from Toronto Papers in connection with MM’s possible `mission’.

On Feb 21st 2019:

`Darling, what’s your mission when you are talking about a black community in UK and that a 3 per cent of black people isn’t enough. Since when is immigration politics topic for the wife of the 6th in line? Shouldn’t it be decision of the British and their elected representatives?’

Did anyone pick up this? Anyone know the context of this utterance? If true, I regard it as a confounded nerve and none of her damned business – she needs to keep her trap shut.

Anyway, I Googled the phrase ` 3 percent of black people isn't enough’ and it took me somewhere rather interesting but I’m not sure what to make of it in our context:

Ten Percent Is Not Enough - American Renaissance
www.amren.com/news/2014/09/ten-percent-is-not-enough.

Some of the associated advertising suggested links with White Supremacism and I can see how it might tie in with Nutty’s earlier point about Mr R and how the RF has no wish to appear racist but to find it echoed by MM is very odd. Has she just got her (? non-existent) knickers in a twist?

But then there’d been this one on 13th February:

`When I saw that you got political I realized that you had a hidden agenda and were up to destroy everything. .. you crossed the line. Your instruction was to stay out of politics.’

I know people are sceptical about TP but this is spooky.

@Sadie Sunshine - Sounds like you have found an excellent source! Thanks so much for sharing with us! I too am not surprised at the US move. I wonder about her claims to avoid us here while Trump is still in office.

@Portcitygirl - I'm right there with you on the thought of us possibly being forced to pay there security. The thought is really ludicrous! Yet I know for sure that New York paid for some of her security when she was in NYC for her lavish baby shower. The folks in the UK, CA and US are all united in not wanting to pay to secure these two slackers! We've all got to keep on complaining about the security costs in comments on articles. There is absolutely NO REASON that they shouldn't be paying for it themselves!!!! When I think of how much I pay in taxes it makes me very angry to think some of that would be used to prop up 2 people with a hell of a lot more money than I have. And for what? They are not royals representing a US monarchy - we fought a war over that!

I wonder if the alleged suicide ideation and/ or attempts is Harry's way of controlling the RF, especially HM and PC.
I keep going back to Harry's insistence on seeing his grandmother when he returned post "break". If there is a pattern of Harry threatening self-harm, and the family caving, why wouldn't he use it again? I hate to say it, but he certainly would be aware of the stories of his mother throwing herself down on the stairs, etc.

Of course, all suicide threats must be taken seriously, but Harry strikes me as passive-aggressive in the extreme, and the manipulative Markle wouldn't scruple to use whatever emotional blackmail is to hand.

It might explain the RFs relatively gentle handling of Megxit, when we would have come down hard on their shenanigans. The "re-evaluation in a year" might be an attempt to give Harry more time to stabilise or even come to his senses regarding Megs.

Ditto the RF sitting on any information they have about la Markle. Any parent would be terrified of moving against her in such a situation.

I hope I am wrong. That idea depresses the hell out of me. I much prefer the RF has everything under control and are just waiting the perfect time to strike.

@bluebell I think if there's anything Meghan has done consistently, it's that she chooses self-interest over ethics/morality/conviction every time. Trump's presence in office isn't going to deter her from coming back here and riding the wave of fame and fortune.

Oh Wild Boar, I'm right there with you! We childless woman must form our own club! I've often talked to my sister about feeling like an outsider due to not having any kids. I would get the "mother" experience when I took my nieces and nephews out when they were young and noticed the difference in how I seemed to relate to the world. But I've managed to fulfill and express my love for kids through my teaching career and my sibling's children. And I of course have my beloved pets!

Meghan Markle backs campaign to 'decolonise the curriculum' by adding more black women to university staff instead of 'male, pale, and stale' professors in her first political intervention since joining the royal family

In January, in her new role as Patron of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) international organisation, the duchess expressed her surprise at the shockingly low figures of diversity in UK professors.

Upon being handed a sheet of data showing that UK professors are overwhelmingly white men, the duchess reportedly said: 'Oh my God.'

Dr Rachel Cowan, who supports ethnic minority and female staff at Manchester University, said: 'She was really surprised, she was like 'oh my god, really, we need to get a photograph of this'.'

The duchess also reportedly turned to her private secretary Amy Pickering and asked her to take a picture of the data relating to 2016-17.

Meghan said universities should 'open a debate' in a bid to avoid 'continuing with the daily rote' because 'sometimes that approach can be really antiquated and needs an update.'

Research from Advance HE revealed 68% of UK professors were white males, 23% white female, 6.5% black and minority ethnic (BME) male and 2% BME female.

Meera Sabaratnam, leading the working party to decolonise the curriculum at SOAS, University of London and whose data inspired Meghan's 'Oh my God' comment, agreed that 'change is long overdue'.

So the history of everything is … history.

Those of us who have spent time in university would love to know WHY we haven't had our share of 'history'.

History is WRITTEN. It is enshrined. It is left.

If so much of history has been left out, why?

@charade: Thank you! 2 deadlines down, 2 more to go (just need to proofread one, submit that and I'll have 3 down & 1 more to go).

@xxxxx:

As much as I don't want to stoop down the wokies' level, it's kind of sweet to see them take a dose of their own medicine.

Their only weapon is *ad hominem* attacks, if you think about it (which is fitting given their fixation on everybody's identity).

Just look at how that "academic" tried to shut Laurence Fox down with her ad hominem attack (white priviledged male) which in her mind passes for an actual argument...

Drives them nuts to know there are:

- PoC who dislike her on the basis of life experiences they will never comprehend.

Because their standard-issue argument line is usually something that goes like:

"You can't have an opinion/say on this matter because as a white! privileged! male!, you lack the life experiences to understand what's happening in your own country..."

Drives them nuts when they see PoC rejecting "woke" ideology. Because if identity determines one's entitlement to an opinion, then shouldn't people like me be the authority by their own logic?

But they don't want to hear from PoC who don't add to their fanfic.

Because then what are they going to say to 'discredit' me?

"You're a privileged Asian female"?

Yeah, damn right I am and privilege recognises privilege, so stop being such hypocrites. πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I could explain what I just explain here why I'm NOT having any of Meghan's race-baiting, but they'll just be like, "lallalallallala I can't heeeeeear yoooooou."

Literally Indonesian Twitter just trended "beauty privilege" yesterday, but wokies would rather pretend people like me don't exists to keep their narrative & negative world views going.

OH MY GOD.

WHAT DOES "DECOLONISE A CURRICULUM" EVEN MEAN????????? πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ™ƒπŸ€£

I think Douglas Murray RT-ed a Spectator article about something by some guy the other day & one click led to another and I came upon this article about the lack of diversity of opinion (or silencing, rather) at the SAOS: https://blogs.spectator.co.uk/2020/01/the-strange-world-of-the-radically-left-wing-soas-university/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

I had no idea it was that kind of place!

I think the classmate I had a crush on in grad school went to do a PhD at the SAOS (I'm not entirely sure tho, all I remember was the school's name had the word "orientalism" in it & it was in London IIRC). WHY do men I've had crushes on always ended up schooling in πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§England?!! 🀣

He's probably married to somebody else now, but I still respect him platonically. He was an alright guy then, and I assume he's still an alright academic now. He was very Spock-like (said some cutting things πŸ”₯ about my [lack of] intellect actually) and an independent thinker, I'd like to believe he wouldn't succumb to identity-politics brainwashing.

A Quiet Interlude

Not much appears to be going on. Living Legends came and went without fanfare ... what's the next event?   Super Bowl - Sunday February 11th?  Oscar's - March 10th?   In the mean time, some things are still rolling along in various starts and stops like Samantha's law suit. Or tax season is about to begin in the US.  The IRS just never goes away.  Nor do bills (utility, cable, mortgage, food, cars, security, landscape people, cleaning people, koi person and so on).  There's always another one.  Elsewhere others just continue to glide forward without a real hint of being disrupted by some news out of California.   That would be the new King and Queen or the Prince/Princess of Wales.   Yes there are health risks which seemed to come out of nowhere.  But.  The difference is that these people are calmly living their lives with minimal drama.

As Time Passes and We Get Older

I started thinking about how time passes when reading some of the articles about the birthday.  It was interesting to think about it from the different points of view.  Besides, it kind of fits as a follow up the last post (the whole saga of can the two brothers reunite). So there is the requisite article about how he will be getting all kinds of money willed to him from his great-grandmother.  There were stories about Princess Anne as trustee (and not allowing earliest access to it all).  Whether or not any or all of this is true (there was money for him and/or other kids) has been debated with claims she actually died owing money with the Queen paying the debts to avoid scandal.  Don't know but I seem to remember that royal estates are shrouded from the public so we may not (ever) know. However, strange things like assisting in a book after repeated denials have popped up in legal papers so nothing is ever really predicable.   We are also seein...

The Opening Act of New Adventures in Retail

I keep thinking things will settle down to the lazy days of spring where the weather is gorgeous and there is a certain sense of peacefulness.  New flowers are coming out. increasing daylight so people can be outside/play and thinking gardening thoughts.  And life is quiet.  Calm. And then something happens like a comet shooting across the sky.  (Out of nowhere it arrives and then leaves almost as quickly.)   An update to a law suit.  Video of the website is released (but doesn't actually promote any specific product which can be purchased from the website).  A delay and then jam is given out (but to whom and possible more importantly - who did not make the list?).  Trophies almost fall (oops).  Information slips out like when the official date of beginning USA residency.  (now, isn't that interesting?) With them, it's always something in play or simmering just below the surface.  The diversity of the endeavors is really ...
