Following on insightful comments from @hunter and others - I am a reformed investment banker myself and have attended more of these types of conferences than I care to admit. In terms of conferences the banks host, there are those focused on specific industries or asset classes and then those focused on high net worth clients and their wealth management teams (fka brokers). There’s a bit of a pecking order in terms of investment bankers vs personal bankers, and while the keynote addresses at I-bank conferences may come from a former politician or noted finance person (former Fed chairs, etc) who get big $$, that is quite different from the celebrity types they get at wealth management events. So to be blunt, there’s no way they were paid a fee in the $500k range for one-time speaking - I’d guess $100k tops including travel but excluding security. I mean if I were at a serious banking conference and they were the keynotes I would be legit annoyed.
But following this topic - I’m wondering if there’s something to notice here. The folks who are able to have high net worth advisors are able to put their $$ to work in ways most can’t — real estate, private equity, venture capital, natural resources and other alternative investment strategies where your money is locked up for a while, but in return you have a chance to realize more capital gains than you ever could in the stock market or bonds/savings. “Normal” ppl who don’t have a certain amount of investable assets cannot really access these investments, but JPM can take all of their HNW client’s $$ and put it into feeder funds along with $$ from institutional investors (endowments, foundations, pension funds, etc). And there are literally funds around anything you can think of, including many who acknowledge stakeholder benefit not just financial returns for investors.
We all know that some famous ppl have parlayed their political/personal connections into jobs on public company boards, ppl here have mentioned Chelsea Clinton who sits on expedia’s board and of course Hunter Biden who was on the board of that Ukraine energy company. If these companies are public and in the US we know the compensation board members receive. But in the world of alternative investments we are talking about private money — there is zero requirement to report. And it’s not like these firms don’t use “important” ppl for their connections and the introductions they may facilitate — as an example, former Vice President Quayle has served in such a role for over a decade with hardly anyone even noticing and he has made ungodly money. I just have to wonder, with Harry’s connections to money globally, is this more than just a one-off speaking engagement???? Or is this the strategy towards achieving that elusive financial independence?? I’m paying attention to this angle going forward!

On behalf of my time in banking I can tell you something terrible. JP Morgan has absolutely got a collection of algorithms that will help ensure your family wealth grows as society collapses. They will have funds that may look like they do good things but really it's shorting water or something.
I presided over a sales contest to base a payoff off volatility which is as insane as it sounds and ALL OF THE PITCHES WERE MADNESS, but you can pit any sorts of numbers against each other and crack some cash out the other end. That's what I learned.

Whatever Harry’s state of mind is, he appears to hold on to two key beliefs, which may be true or may be delusional, or one of each:
1. He has a family– a son and a loving wife.
2. He has to protect this family from some unspecified danger.

This `wife’ is far from loving, as we understand that concept.
We cannot reach a verdict as to whether the child exists or not. It appears that sometimes a child exists but it seems to be a different child on different occasions. At other times, it looks like a doll, or else it is a case of photoshopping or photo-montage, as in the group Christening image.
Point 2.
All we know so far is that Harry considers private jets safe, commercial jets unsafe. Taking the evidence at face value -the UK is unsafe; anywhere else that they’ve taken Archie is safe, including South Africa, the South of France, Canada.

Your number sounds right to me. They get paid this plus free flight by JP Morgan private jet to the conference and maybe return too. If Harry carries on preferring just about anywhere to the UK, Archie will have a far more difficult childhood than Harry. Rather than deferential royal rota photographers doing the odd scheduled photocall in return for privacy the rest of the time (a deal which still holds), Archie will be leading the life of a papped celebrity kid. Reality TV celebrity moreover, i.e. famous for being famous, not talented, which is the lowest rung.
However, let us consider the following:
1. Harry and Meghan have no interest in serving the Commonwealth (nor even the Queen) in any way. Everything they do is for their own interest with no regard to others. The Queen has a particular blind spot that makes her unable to see this. I can imagine her perhaps thinking their Commonwealth roles still mean something to them and that they are still an important part of the family and the institution.
2. That Harry and Meghan still have these positions is an insult to Commonwealth countries, and exposes the truth that these 'Commonwealth events' are for the benefit of boosting the image and status of royalty and affiliates and, as when they were colonies, Commonwealth countries are simply being used.
3. The moment Harry and Meghan step foot on British soil again there will be media hysteria and thus a lot of exposure. I have no doubt that Meghan will want to overcome her reluctance to be with a family and in a country that makes her feel uncomfortable and I think she will weigh up what benefits her more: not appearing, putting out a lot of rumours, and fuelling media hysteria through speculation (the power of mystery); or appearing, looking smug and wearing very expensive designer gear, and ecstatic that all eyes are on her (look how much power I have and thus how much my mere presence is worth - ka-ching).
4. As for Archie, I doubt that he will travel with them unless it is an extended visit. Meghan is not going to want the hassle of having an increasingly mobile kid around for what would be a very important visit for her. Don't believe that whatever decision she makes is for the best for Archie ... she will do what serves her best.
5. Where are they going to stay? Spend a huge amount hiring temporary staff to get Frogmore Cottage up and running again and another bunch of staff for transport and assisting them in every way (someone has to hold all those flowers)? Will Meghan push for being accommodated at Buckingham Palace (a lot more uncomfortable and restrictive than she is aware of, and there are renovations going on there)? I think she would want to set a precedent of 'an apartment' in a palace or castle for her to use when she is in the UK (loves the image and status of it, but, as I have said, the reality is not so cool).
6. If it is an extended visit, I can see Harry doing some official royal appearances, but Meghan? I think she would have assistants and a photographer in tow as she makes secret visits to 'her patronages' so she has something to put on IG for their increasingly confused image. Will her patronages still want her (who would be so stupid?)? No time for Archie in all this.
7. I think Meghan could pull off a visit to the Queen with the appropriate expressions, researched sound bites and even dress. (How important is the Queen in ensuring they retain the status and funding they demanded in their manifesto?) However, I think she would find it a strain and feel isolated and outnumbered when face with more of Harry's family. I have no doubt that they would be polite, nice and kind to her, but narcs do not like to be confronted with their mess (they tend to drop the bomb and run), especially if they have not mustered an army of support.
"The Queen has a blind spot". You are right but I am going to be blunt here. The Queen is a 93 years old woman. She didn't handle the crisis well. She has been a monarch so long she equals herself to the crown. Harry as a blood relative has precedence over us plebs in her eyes.
Her recent mistakes alienated many people and I do not see her doing anything to remedy them at the moment. I am sorry to say it but without Phillip she is just a figurehead.

PH’s mental health really isnt the right direction for his speeches. He needs “to work” on another cause quickly before he wears out his welcome. The people he’s speaking to for the most part have worked their way up from much more modest beginnings to become top of their particular field. Whether it’s entertainment, sports, business, that all takes hard work, time, tlent, hard work, practise and most of those people are success stories in their fields. They’ve powered thru their issues. If anything he’s an example of how not to bring up your rich entitled child. PH has accomplished none of that, the closest he’s come is the military or maybe invictus.
He needs to find an ‘authentic’ cause to work for and speak about , like african conservation, go spend a few weeks with the elephants , post picures on IG, and come back and beg for money from the rich people. Or go have some Invictus meetings( assuming he’s still involved with that) and call the paps, post some pictures in front of an Invictus sign on IG. He’s got to stop the woe is me storyline asap and speak about something ‘authentic’!

I've just let off steam in the DM again after people defended poor H&M against us meanies. Apparently we shouldn't criticise them now they are 'working towards' financial independence. I wrote "We will stop criticising H&M when they no longer cost us a penny. How dare they say they are working towards financial independence when Harry has between £30-40M already! Nowhere else could you go on depending on handouts, as adults, until you FEEL your wealth has gone from extreme to obscene. Only then will Meghan think she has enough." I like that phrase. "Extreme to obscene". Of course even obscene wealth wouldn't be enough. She'd just spend even faster.
I know Harry can't access all his money but he has more than enough. I visualise Harry's wealth as a pile of gold bars in a cage, with Meghan the bank robber right outside, waiting, wearing one of those scary clown masks.

Why am I still following this saga? The articles about them constantly contradict one another or are actual lies for events that never happened. I don’t care if it’s largely Markle’s PR shenanigans or the tabloids looking for clicks. Are we feeding the cycle of disinformation by paying attention to these two? How many comments have been made here regarding Harry’s speech at the behest of JP Morgan? No, they weren’t there. Oh, yes, they were. No, it was only Harry. Uh, no it was both of them. Does ANY of this matter? Yes, it matters to the citizens of the UK as their taxes are funding these truly ugly people, but beyond that, what’s my skin in this sordid game?
And the constant “no comment” from the BRF. They’ve become part of this fraud, unwillingly, but still a big factor. At some point, this becomes toxic when basic decency and morality are sacrificed in the name of protecting the royal “brand.” The picture of this “private” meeting of Andrew and his family with, what, the Chinese Ambassador (?) ? Will all these “events” with Andrew glad-handing and continue to pocket the kickbacks he’s been receiving for years roll on like always, except they will be labeled “private”? He’s STILL doing royal business on behalf of the Queen. With every sloppily photoshopped pictures of the family at “archie’s“ christening and no comment from the BRF undermines their credibility. There wasn’t any comment as Markle’s pregnancy bump grows and deflates according to whatever sized bump she decides to wear that day. Their credibility is harmed by their silence.
And the gravy train rolls on. JP Morgan was slapped with a $13 billion (yes, with a “B”) fine in regards to the mortgage crisis here in the US in 2008. They based securities on what were essentially worthless mortgages. Of course, all of the major banks were in on this massive fraud, and then they cleaned up by foreclosing on these homes and then RESELLING them to investors at bargain basement prices. Gigantic percentages of entire cities were filled with homes underwater. JP Morgan ruined hundreds of thousands of lives, and I don’t care how much corporate “woke” endeavors they spearhead. They are evil. Markle and her immature, petulant, man-child of a husband are evil, too, being the worst of hypocrites for their false brand of philanthropy. They pretend to be oh-so-liberal to stoke their greedy egos while climbing aboard that private jet and cashing the check from one of the more venal institutions in the US. They disgust me. Why do I care about them and their fake baby and where are they living and their gigantic merching machine? The only entity that can stop them is the BRF, and they’ve chosen to soft pedal the ramifications. They KNOW that there is no Archie. There might be a surrogate somewhere that they call Archie, but NOTHING will convince me that Markle was ever pregnant. The PR juggernaut of Harry’s rehabilitation from some champagne swilling party boy who indulges in Nazi cosplay into the great English warrior is being dismantled and shown for what it was. A PR push of gigantic proportions. Markle is, obviously, a malignant narc. How craven do you have to be to create a fake baby, with Harry complicit in this gigantic fraud. How are they going to get rid of this “child” when it’s suppose to be walking? Talking? Do they keep renting children? I am at the point where I see a headline, and I think, lie. I see a photograph of them and I immediately look for the telltale signs of photoshop.

I am open to correction, but from what I understand, the Capital Sum of the monies left in Trust to both Prince's by their mother PD and The QM cannot be touched, PC and others (Q.C's) wrapped it tighter than Fort Knox. However, since the age of 25, interest on an amount of the Trust has been paid out yearly, this increased at age 30 and interest on the full amount held in Trust for either Prince becomes available on their respective 40th birthdays. The interest is paid yearly and it is already a very tidy sum.

I concur with the sentiments of the poster.
Why does the BRF (the seniors and courtiers involved in the arrangements) not just end it now? Why wait for some indeterminate Spring date?
Here are some suggestions:
1. They will no longer be funded through the Sovereign Grant nor the Duchy of Cornwall. Any further financial assistance will come from the private wealth of anyone in the royal family who wants to keep giving the duo pocket money. Use of offices at BP will also have to go.
2. Money spent on renovating and refurbishing Frogmore Cottage will immediately repaid by the Sussexes. If they want to keep that residence in the UK, a market-related rental agreement takes immediate effect.
3. They will no longer be protected by RPOs as of immediate effect. The government department responsible will brief any private company that the Sussexes hire for their protection (mandatory) and will require regular reports from such company (must be part of any contract), and all such reports will be top secret (so no one can be accused of spying on them).
4. They are forbidden from using the HRH and thus also the 'royal' in their Sussex Royal branding.
5. They will not represent the Queen, the monarchy, the government nor the people of the UK in any way in future. Any patronages they wish to keep that they presently have and wish to take on in future will be as private individuals.
6. They will always be invited to private family events, as are all of the Queen's extended family (Christmas lunch at BP, summer in Balmoral, winter in Sandringham). I don't think they should ever appear on the balcony again, but as long as Harry is an heir to the throne, it is probably reasonable that he should be there for Trooping of the Colour.
Unfortunately, the Queen, is used to a different way of doing things. Her sister, mother, sons, and so on, all lived lives of luxury and had 24/7 protection funded by the taxpayer.

Apropos of fake global warming, how come their biggest mouths are addicted to private jets? I say Mostly to avoid mingling with the peasantry at airports. Example is that at least in LA, the ubers can go to an exclusive lounge area, then be funneled seamlessly to the first class section. Thus spending $6,000 on a flight for two, instead of hiring a private jet for $25,000.

April is associated with W&K's wedding and is supposedly an "unlucky" month to marry. But even if it wasn't, the first half of the month is out because of Lent and Easter. (TQ probably wouldn't ok marrying during Lent and the COE very strongly discourages it.) March is too soon. June is out because of the various Trooping ceremonies followed by the Ascot. So I think they were stuck.
