Several books about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have either been newly published or are about to be published.
I haven't had a chance to read anything but the excerpts in the Daily Mail so far -- big reveals include that the Sussexes spent nearly $5000 on numerology sessions and that Doria received an allowance from Meghan and Harry.
Let's discuss the excerpts and the books themselves in this space.

If ONLY the Dumbarkles had genuinely wanted the privacy of a 'normal' family, like they kept pretending they did. Honestly, I don't think they are going to STFU until one, or both, of them are dead.
HM should have put it to Harry from the get-go that if he was determined to marry this woman, this divorced uncouth American, so quickly that he would have to resign from the ranks of the working royals forthwith, since his American wife would not be permitted to represent the Queen as 'a Royal'. HM would not stand in the way of true love; Harry could leave the working role he felt so onerous and go where he pleased with his bride, to Africa or America, free of the burdens of titles and expectation. After a small, simple private ceremony at a registry office and a chapel blessing, such as was good enough for Charles and his divorced bride, they would be given a small cottage as their marital abode OR the equivalent sum in a cash gift to start their lives together.
IF Meghan wanted to demonstrate her commitment to becoming a British citizen--a prerequisite to becoming a working royal with a British aristocratic title, and renouncing all of her American ties, that would require 2-3 years minimum for her to even meet the residency requirement. Right? Pretty generous, considering that a person can't apply for American citizenship in fewer than seven years of residency.
HM's fatal error was being pushed into approving this rushed through wedding on *Markle's* timetable. Of course, everyone wanted Harry to find someone and be happy. If Meg had been *the right* person, being asked to wait two years for all the perks would not have been an obstacle. I think if Madam had been hindered *on constitutional grounds (not racial ones, and that point made crystal clear) . . she would have buggered right off and found herself a rich dim football player without all these conditions. Her plan required breakneck speed in execution before everybody got wind of her true game.
We've all got wind now, and it stinks.
I think most of us are in agreement that Meg is delusional. How does she propose to run for President (or any elected office) under Meghan, Duchess of Sussex? Under constitutional law, she *cannot* hold any sort of elected office while bearing titles that were granted by another nation. Using them socially at dinner parties is different than using it as a legal name. She'd have to run as Meghan Mountbatten-Windsor. This is totally a rhetorical scenario, since there is too much dirt in her past to sanitize her as a candidate. The Queen was willing to allow all of Meg's Mess to be cleaned up and pretend that Harry was marrying a Princess Bride, but she will be utterly dismantled in American politics. She thinks that the British press and the monarchy is 'mean and unfair' and left her unprotected? Just wait until she has to debate an opponent that will be all too willing to bring up the sex tapes the yachting, the financial irregularities and so forth. She may believe that the woke Millennial liberal-socialist contingent will embrace her, and some will . . .but the cohort over on FOX NEWS will tear her to shreds until there's nothing left but the wig.
We've all got wind now, and it stinks.
Hikari: That sums it up so well!
I still shake me head that HMTQ allowed Eugenie’s wedding to be pushed back from spring to autumn just because of a damn tour Down Under for the Harkles.
She should have told Harry to date Meghan for another two years, which would still have been less than the alleged five-year rule that was in place. So what if Meghan was getting older and they wanted kids? Too bad. Then they could have gone public and used a surrogate if they were made to wait. I doubt they would still be together if HMTQ had told Harry to wait.
produce a movie, wouldn't you be all over the media talking up your book?"
Maybe. Or, there may be a clause requiring the author not to talk to the press and to allow MM to manage publicity. I doubt MM wants to share the limelight every step of the way.
Harry is (was) a senior royal, his wedding took precedence over Eugenie’s.
So Eugenie’s wedding was pushed back to October 2028 because Harry and Megsy’s wedding was in May 2018. We never have two royal weddings within weeks or 2 months apart of each other.
There’s a new Nutty post up! :o)
Absolutely. Even one year would have been too long for antsy Meg and she would have cut and run.
At the time of the rushed engagement (only 6 weeks after 'reconnecting' at Invictus, after H. had broken up with her for 9 months), Catherine was pregnant with Louis. It is long-standing tradition in the RF that they do not upstage each others' major life milestones. When ER was expectant with Andrew, Margaret was not even permitted to announce her engagement until the baby was born. ER *could* have made the couple wait to announce their engagment until Louis was born in April, 2018. Six months from that would have been October. The Oceania tour was on the books before the Harkle wedding--I had read that the tour was planned for Harry solo and they had to scramble to add Meg in--who didn't actually fulfill many of the engagements planned for her citing 'being pregnant'.
It would have been more sensible for Eugenie to have the spring/summer wedding she'd been planning for over a year and the Harkles could have had a more modest autumn ceremony and done the Oceania tour as their honeymoon. The expense and spectacle of Meg's wedding given her status and her by-now evident disdain for the United Kingdom and intention to bail at the first opportunity rankles all the more. If she'd been forced to chill her heels in London for a year minimum before any wedding (a much smaller do, such as was good enough for Edward and Sophie), expected to support herself in the meantime . .yeah, that would have paled real fast. Megsy's no good at waiting around.
Going back the DM article on Tom Quinn's book which mentions some of the stories about MM.
Notice the phrasing when the incident where MM asked one of K's staff to do something for her and was politely told that she was unable to and then the foot stomping and so on. MM viewed it not as a factual or instructional bit about how to fit in but that "she felt put in her place" and implies that K was treated as a princess while she was clearly not. Fifty cents says that this will come out as an example of how the palace was racist.
Another thing is that her rank, linked to where her husband ranks, will always be less the K. I suspect there will be more stories which come out about that being more an a one time issue.
And then the whole thing about the little girls wearing or not wearing tights for the wedding. It is slightly unclear if it was described this way in Tatler or that his source told Tatler who did not use the phrasing (so Tom does) about how you see who won in the photos. It got me to think about how she could really have zero sum kind of thinking considering the relentlessness in her drive. I could also be wrong.
charade - I knew that and wasn't upset. I was just thinking about it as a technical thing because a lot of people haven't been exposed to a lot of different faiths, their real history (as opposed to the glossy photos where no one has dirt under their fingers and everyone's white attire is really clean) and why they do X when they used to do Y. I once asked my mother why we no longer did the blood on the doorway for Passover (she never had much of a clue how to ever answer most of my questions).
I think Meghans main problem is that she cannot stand not being the center of attention. She probably did go into the marriage thinking she was going to be a much loved princess who could do whatever she wanted.
I am several days behind in comments, but I had to reply to your “Last of the Mohicans.” Glamour magazine once said the movie led to a spike of births nine months after its release, with Daniel Day Lewis, who in “real life” is an Irish/English Jew who was so involved in his role, as always, that he actually could kill deer by arrow, spoke as best he could the French Canadian/colony New York/several Native American dialects, and learned to shoot the muskets, as the adopted son of the Mohicans tribe. The actress who played his love interest is an American who had to learn an aristocratic English/Scottish dialect.
I have been to the Edinburgh Tattoo several times, and each time they played the beautiful music from “The Last of the Mohicans”, a movie that was about the French-Indian Wars in the mid 1700’s. George Washington was involved, and did not do very well, but learned from his mistakes. The American colonies wanted nothing to do with the French-Canadians, at the time.
Anyway, I believe that the Queen is just waiting out the two number sixes, as every day the HAMS look older and aged. Jealousy is a horrible heart crime, as it literally eats at your health, from heart, veins, adrenaline system, brain tissue, and more. Hate and jealousy factually has been seen as a health risk; shortens your life, and causes such diseases as Raynauds Syndrome, liver issues, and more. You can eat organic food, work out every day with Aeorbics, Pilates, yoga, bicycling, whatever; your brain concentrates on hate and jealousy.
The Queen will probably stick to her promise to Harry, to review him in one year. Her Majesty takes promises very seriously, and will honor her promise, however she might feel differently if Harry attacks his country, people, and way of life. I think she will kick out her Nazi-loving grandson Harry and his wife, who has no problem with Harry’s swastikas and racist statements, if Her Majesty sees her shiftless, shuffling in life Harry actually attack the BRF. It is treason, and Harry calling anybody racist, when he was heard to give the Heil Hitler and Use the Ovens to media, will end his titles. Or are Holocaust victims, including 2 million children under the age of twelve, lives not important to a racist Harry? The IRS are now after money laundering from the two, too.
Agree.
@abbyh,
Megsy has a self entitled type persona. She also clearly doesn’t understand how rank and protocols work. These two things are closely entwined and are very much part of being a royal. The peking order is such that even though she married Harry, he and she will always be ranked below Catherine and William. In turn each have their own household staff, Megsy had no clue that she just couldn’t ask a member of Catherine’s staff to do a job for her.
Catherine’s a higher ranked royal wife than Megsy. Megsy can’t hack that bit and never will.
Would the accusations of racism have been any worse than they are now?
Pity HM didn't call their bluff - `You can marry without my consent in a Register Office and have a knees-up in the back room of a favourite pub, without Pa's cash, so everyone buys their own drinks, just like those of my subjects who are ordinary people who can't afford ostentation.'
Giving into them doesn't seem to have made much difference - they more or less got their own way but still scream `racism'. They'll croak it with their dying breath, like Mel Gibson's `Freedom!' no matter the cause of their demise.
Lol bespoke organic hot potato love this!
Absolutely though. She wants to be top and Harry will never be top or No.1 at anything. She wants everything Catherine has. Even if William had been free and available I believe he has much better taste in women. He also has far more brains than Harry could only ever dream about.
