The Sussex saga: We were right about Meg's bullying. What else were we right about?

Just a few weeks ago, the Sussex saga was a bit dull. Over the past week, of course, it's exploded.

First there was Harry's ridiculous bus-top interview with James Corden, in which he hopelessly flubbed his scripted lines and flopped his arms about like a man who is accustomed to not being taken seriously.

Of course, stopping at the exterior location home of a long-dead sitcom and then asking, on camera, to use the bathroom is an indication of a man who should not be taken seriously.

It's a good thing the protocol-loving Queen Mother isn't around to see the Corden show. She might have asked for her inheritance back.

Rushing through his dialogue

Then there was a quick clip from Oprah's upcoming interview with the Sussexes. Meg is shown sitting silent, plastic-faced, in an unflattering dress, looking somewhat like a showroom dummy of herself.

Harry, meanwhile, is babbling on again like a man who is accustomed to not being listened to, as he again draws parallels between his wife with his mother. (John Lennon had a terrible habit of doing this as well; he mixed his mother's name with his wife's in the otherwise gorgeous love song Julia.)

"My biggest concern was history repeating itself," he says. "I'm really relieved and happy to be sitting here talking to you with my wife by my side because I can't begin to imagine what it must have been for her going through this process by herself all these years ago."

He's speaking prepared dialogue, but he's rushing through it like somebody is going to cut him off at any moment. Which probably tells us a little bit more than what we want to know about life at Sussex Manor.

Earrings from MbS

Then there was the revelation that the earrings Meg wore to a royal event in Fiji - along with that simple blue dress that was one of her few great fashion moments - were an unreported wedding gift from Saudi leader Mohammed bin Salman.

MbS, as he's referred to in the diplomatic community, is a controversial figure who was involved in the death of propagandist-not-journalist Jamal Khashoggi just three weeks earlier.

Wearing the earrings would have been bad enough style given the timing, but apparently Meghan lied about their provenance as well, saying they were "borrowed." (At the time, I believe, a Hong Kong jeweler took credit for loaning them to her.)

Receiving the earrings was not, quite frankly, improper, since MbS is a member of another Royal family.

But the timing of their public debut was awful, and the dishonesty about where they came from - was she lying just to the press? or also to the Royal staff assisting her? - was unsettling.

What else are we right about?

Of course, at this blog and at other non-sugar Meghan blogs, we've been saying for a long time that Meg is a liar.

We've also been saying for quite some time that she is a bully, information that is just beginning now to officially emerge from Kensington Palace, where an investigation is underway.

This raises the question: what else were we right about?

Yachting? Trevor? Corey? The hockey player? The dogs? Joseph Gordon-Giuliano? Meg's drug use? Doria's prison record? Meg's lack of a university diploma? Meg's real birthdate? Markus Anderson? Nicole?

Archie?

@HappyDays thank you for link to H.G Tudor site. I look forward to diving into it. I skipped to end for now (yes he needs UPDATE) but definately going to carve out some time to fully explore

Everything I know of narcissism is limited to what I have read here (my condolences to various posters as I have read many many horrific tales)

I used to think of narcissist as conceited character that could do no wrong but so many more dynamics. Thankful to not have (knowingly) encountered any. My sister claimed to have worked for one but when pressed for examples to better understand she became so discombobulated she couldn't form a sentence. I saw the trauma :(

Thank you again and giant hug to all who powered through such an experience. Seems only weapon is awareness as their tactics strike me as rather cunning . As stated my knowledge is limited, looking forward to learning more.

@Lucy, 7:48 a.m. I knew someone who had psychotic reactions like Markle exhibited. She was Dx as Paranoid Schizophrenic. She couldn't keep any friends, and the only one in the family who'd speak to her was her mother. Even her brother who lived a block away cut her out of his life. She is extremely toxic, and beyond professional help.

We might add that Markle is a Narcissist, and possibly Paranoid Schizophrenic.

Re: Khahoggi

He was friends with Osama bin Lauden, both wanting to change some things in a big way. There are some articles out there which tend to make that sound less bestie but others which don't. (and as we all know, just saying someone is a nice person does not make them automatically so no matter how many times it get repeated which is why we all need to sometimes do our own looking and thinking from different sources we might not automatically credit as truth so stop thinking about it)

Those which tend to lessen the friendship tended to do so after 9/11 when the USA was looking for allies which became a general MSM opinion which stayed around.

One thing we have to think about is not just who, what, where, when but what was happening politically on the global picture (meaning what was their agenda). And, not everything still sees the light of day as easily as politics change in the news business plus not being able to read/speak Arabic makes a lot of sourcing more difficult and therefore easier to rest on prior articles which say this or that but don't document sources either.

So, I guess I wasn't shocked either when it all started coming out.

@AnT Yes indeed, their timing is interesting. All the more reason for thinking that maybe some kind of bomb is about to be dropped as I can't imagine that 2 hours of non stop grizzling about how hard they've had it and how horrid everyone has been to them would be the best way to promote any business (Oprah could possibly gain points for patience though) Would ITV pay 1 million for that?

Sorry to butt in with a personal anecdote, but it's pertinent to the Megs bullying story. I'm guessing that the young women Megs was pushing around were in their twenties or early thirties for the most part. Youngsters of that age grew up in a much more solicitous age than old crones like me.

One of my kids was badly bullied in a graduate program in an Ivy League school which shall remain nameless. She was so traumatized that she had to drop out for a while, our family were very concerned about her. (She finished her degree.) Race & gender had nothing to do with it, it was just the nature of her bullier, who was a woman. I tried to explain to her that the woman was only a GradAss, who was just there to do the boring stuff that full professors don't want to do, & she had no clout. All our family tried to tell her that people like this woman are everywhere, & you either learn how to cope, or leave, & you don't want to let them win by doing that. (@AnT hats off to you for your brilliant & professional handling of that nutcase you worked with! That's not an easy thing to do.) My daughter discussed the situation with her advisors, etc. The school was very supportive of her, & very discreet in handling everything. It turned out her bullier had form, (but of course everyone wanted to avoid unpleasantness, so nothing was out in the open), but through academic osmosis, raised eyebrows, subtle lip movements, whatever, my daughter learned that the whole department knew the woman was trouble, but universities can't just say, 'you're fired.' There are a boatload of procedures. Shortly thereafter, the bully was moved to a 4th Tier inner city school somewhere in the MidWest. So, the university managed to handle the issue quietly, but my daughter was a mess for some time.

Kids like my daughter, who've been carefully protected don't know how to cope when a psychological predator gets them in their sights. My daughter is cute, petite, conscientious, hardworking, kind & polite. She was the kind of child who when she was two years old, would be the one out of a class of eight toddlers who would be sitting on the teacher's lap when I picked her up. She'd always had wonderful teachers who had gone out of their way to help her. Partly luck, partly the schools her father & I chose for her. (LOL, I had a psychotic teacher in third grade who used to go after kids she didn't like with a coat hanger. Fortunately, I was never one of them. We children would just quake for a while & get on with things. Happily, parents got the school board to ditch her. This was in the 50s, it was more of a put up or shut up world. Kids could get expelled pretty easily as well.) A work place bully can be so toxic, even among colleagues who are better prepared for a nutcase. I can believe these young women feel damaged by Megs, but I often wish I had prepared my daughter better in handling horrible people. It's tough to handle thorny & unpleasant personalities, sometimes they have very useful & necessary skills. I would rather be operated on by a competent but unpleasant surgeon than a sweet incompetent one. I kind of measure how much I'll put up with by a person's overall value in the grand scheme of things. I don't think Megs has much value except as a source of a kind of warped entertainment, like the tv series, Arrested Development. She's trying to convince the world that she's a valuable humanitarian, but she's just putting lipstick on a pig, as the saying goes.

@anT and @TheGrangle. So would the "courtiers"/media/BRF drop a bomb (there are enough of them so which one ;-) ) say saturday night to run for a Sunday print/online presence. That give little time for Oprah to once again re-edit what they have and no time to reshoot (but plenty of time for waffle maker throwing) If Oprah gets screwed by this they will be toxic in Hollywood and be cut off from everyone. Seems like a good strategy - have the queen of england and the queen of US talk shoes deal the blows. Felled by strong women!

Out of reading mode just to say Oprah better call off that interview or she will be blamed big time for instigating a diplomatic disaster.

I've always thought she would love to get into BP with TQ but she can forget about that now.

The bigger issue at this tense moment is: will her own country people see America's First Lady of TV the Great Oprah Winfrey as bullying the RF by insisting on airing the interview? Quite the conundrum. Biggest ego alive Oprah must be sh!tting bricks for the first time in a very long time.

Does she really think she can bring down the BRF with Meghan-and Harry as the side car and still be beloved in America? She's deluded if she thinks even she can pull that one off.

@snarkyathebest, It's that possibility that keeps us watching this train wreck! We're not that interested in Hegs & Megs, we just want them exposed. I, too, mentioned a few days ago that Khashoggi was an intelligence asset (for the enemies of Saudi Arabia). I am glad to find another person that reads the think tanks, subscribes to newsletters and intelligence briefings blogs! I suppose I should give the usual caveats about extra-judicial killings and not condoning murder but, at the end of the day, I find that I am a pragmatist. Had he been transported to Saudi Arabia, the results would have been the same, an appointment with the headsman. He had likely been tried and convicted in absentia.

Oprah is the epitome of everything that went wrong on American television. She is a ruthless businesswoman who has been playing the R card for far too long. One of her biggest regrets must have been failing to convince Diana to tell “her truth” on her show. She’s been playing the twosome gruesome ever since she met them in March 2018. She has been looking for a Royal- a big fish- for many years. She thinks she hit the jackpot and she will never back down. Hapless has no idea who he got in bed with...
On a side note, I am so fed up with the American narrative on race invading the whole world and shaping young people’s minds. Enough already with this toxic divisiveness!

"I am so sorry. I sent a tweet this morning that was unduly critical of people I admire, care about and have worked with for a long time. People have called me out on it and they were right to do so – we should all choose to contribute to a culture of kindness.

Afternoon all!

Apologies first for my bad language - I, like Meghan have a potty mouth so I'm just telling you now so you can scroll through if you want....

I've not read anything on this new blog as its moving fast but I just wanted to say after the latest Oprah clip, how on earth can those two shitbags state that Meghan was bullied by BRF or their staff - unbelievable. And how can anyone defend Meghan after the Times has revealed it has receipts in regards to her bullying staff.

Please god can the truth be revealed to expose Meghan and Harry in all their vile nastiness.

Someone said (sorry can't remember who) they thought Meghan was trying to look like Jennifer Lopez, I thought that last summer during the heights of George Floyd/BLM demos/riots that Meghan was trying to look like a paler skinned version of Naomi Campbell.

Regarding my post yesterday and Harry's comment a few months ago that London isn't really diverse - I've got some more photos of Harry & Meghan's official visit to the radio station in Brixton, South London.

For those that don't know Brixton is a deprived inner city area of South London with a very large mixed race community and a history of race riots (I remember a lot of kids coming to school with new trainers and jewellery after the riots in the mid 80's but that's another story). Brixton is becoming slowly gentrified with an explosion of cafe culture due to it's close proximity to central London but it still has a massive working class and a multi cultural community which is reflected in these photos. There are many other boroughs around London that are very similar, Lewisham, Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Wandsworth etc

Who is Harry trying to kid when he says that London isn't diverse and suggesting that we are all really closet racists all hiding within our own enclaves? (paraphrasing here) He really is such an arsehole but of course he was trying to pretend that Meghan had been a victim of racism and bullying and some people have bought it despite not having a receipts - 72 female MP's for a start.

https://www.gettyimages.co.uk/videos/prince-harry-and-meghan-markle-visit-reprezent?phrase=prince%20harry%20and%20meghan%20markle%20visit%20reprezent&sort=best#

Anyway, keep going peoples, its all very entertaining reading and this shitshow looks like its going on for some time.

Thanks to whoever suggested Barbara Pym, I've downloaded all her books and hope to read them sometime in the coming years if I'm not too engrossed with reading this blog and LSA. I swear my dad thought I had died yesterday I was so inert with all the reading, it was a miracle that managed to get up and dressed and cook dinner for us both!

@Miggy,

WTF indeed -- but a perfect example of bullying and harassment in action, ironically. She spoke her mind, was abused for it, probably got a fast warning email from Megs' lawyers, probably terrified by the insane sugars' threats. Frightened, likely afraid of losing her job perhaps (threats from her foundation board or donors?), she apologize.

So -- she was bullied for responding with her "own voice" to a story of bullying. Let this example stand. Glad you posted it.

Welcome to the better, free world of kindness.

From The Telegraph

Royal rift: Will William and Harry’s relationship ever be repaired?
A new twist in the siblings’ drama suggests they have never been further apart. Is there any way back, asks royal biographer Angela Levin

The brotherhood of Princes William and Harry – once so powerful, appealing and close – is steadily crumbling. It’s said William now rarely talks to his younger brother and is apparently furious and shocked that Harry has snubbed the Queen, making a tell-all Oprah interview the focus when their 99-year-old grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh, remains ill in hospital.

William has always been protective of Harry and, until he met Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge happily joined ranks with him. He stood with them on countless engagements, which, despite stating at the time that Catherine was the sister he had always wanted, he later revealed it had made him feel like a gooseberry to the young married couple.

When Meghan joined The Firm in November 2017, the young foursome were nicknamed the ‘Fab Four’ – appearing on stage together at the first (and what would turn out to be the last) annual Royal Foundation forum, at which they launched their vision for a shared working future. Harry joked that they were “stuck together for the rest of our lives.” How poignant that seems now.

It is like falling into a funny, peaceful world of solvable dilemmas and sweet truths. Life seems better after a Pym.

Regarding M&H, if they skate through this, if the accusers are found to be mistaken after the palace investigation, if groups keep hiring the Susexes as reps, my worst suspicions may be proved true. Something just stinks. Let's hope the might of the finally vocal Sussex Bullying Club stands firm, flicks off the angry sugars, and brings the truth into the light. I imagine M is freaking out. I am sure they have no unbroken dishware left in Villa Sadness.

@Maneki Neko, So sorry that you've had a bad experience, & I'm sympathetic to so many others who've shared their horror stories. In our litigious era, it's often hard to get rid of trouble makers, & as I mentioned my post sometimes horrible people have necessary skills, or even unnecessary skills which are still valued by society. Artists often are very hard to deal with. I saw a book in my library by V.S. Naipaul the other day, a writer who could probably make a phone book a pleasure to read. By all accounts he was a horrible person to just about everybody, including his nearest & dearest. Was his artistry related to his terrible personality? Could be. We seem to have the worst of both worlds, in which no talent frauds like Megs are enabled in the name of 'niceness.'

Part 2

Just 16 months later, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they were to go their separate ways. The couples wanted to change every detail of their once co-operative lives. Their staff would work from two different palaces; Harry and Meghan’s team would operate from Buckingham Palace while William and Kate would stay with Kensington Palace. Their charitable endeavours were divided, as well as their households – brought into the spotlight again this week, ahead of the Sussexes’ interview with Oprah on Sunday night, by allegations against Meghan of bullying and the mistreatment of palace staff during that period, and counter allegations by the Sussexes that this was a smear campaign. On Wednesday, Buckingham Palace announced it was launching an investigation into the claims, saying it was “clearly very concerned” about the accusations.

This splitting of their working lives was a shame but was understood. The couples had different ways of going about things, and they had become incompatible. At the Royal Foundation forum, the brothers had said they wanted to “engage in public life in a way that was updated and relevant for our generation” – but that turned out to mean very different things for each.

For William, it means a pared-down Royal family – with the two brothers, their father and wives taking the lead. It was a model that worked for the Cambridges, Kate having understood and accepted what would be expected of her, as the wife of the future king, from the start. But the plan relied on Harry choosing a wife who would also agree to a life of public service, but one which, as the spouse of the “spare”, demanded less of the spotlight.

Perhaps it was asking the impossible. It was unfair to expect Meghan, an independent actress with a strong will, to accept living in the shadow of her brother and sister-in-law. She patently didn’t understand the rigid hierarchy of the monarchy with its odd and formulaic ways. In many ways, her training probably made her the obvious choice to take centre stage – Kate was always shy – but palace protocol dictates otherwise. The simple fact is that the heir and his wife are always going to take precedence.

Part 3

William was born to be King and has had his life mapped out accordingly. Harry had more options. His was an unusual way of life, as the younger sibling to a future king. It was one that also shaped the Queen’s bond with the more charismatic Princess Margaret and, to a lesser degree, Charles’s relationship with the more swashbuckling Andrew.

Diana was well aware her two sons were on very different paths in life. It was her biggest fear that the gap between the heir and the spare would drive a wedge between them. She and Charles agreed that both boys would be brought up with a strong sense of duty and that Harry would never be made to feel second best. It was a particularly difficult aim to meet, particularly as the Queen Mother would sometimes invite young William for tea to gently prepare him for his future, excluding Harry.

The brothers’ closest time together was when they shared a small cottage near Clive, a few miles from Shawbury on the Welsh borders, for several months. Harry was learning to fly a helicopter and William was training to be a rescue pilot at RAF Shawbury. Harry told me, when we chatted at Kensington Palace, how proud he was to be able to talk about “anything” with his brother, and said he was “the only person he could really trust.”

Young William’s instincts were always to keep his brother close, after they had experienced the tragedy of losing their mother. After all, they were the only people in each other’s lives who could know exactly what the other had suffered.

Meghan is in her ‘nothing more to lose’ stage. She is All-In. Interesting it happened so quickly. I imagine she assumed she would get the $100mm ‘hush hush’ payment from the BRF to NDA her to stop her insanity. It’s not going to happen. They are going to take her down and suffer the consequences.

I guess she decided she didn’t want to do the Netflix work, after all.

Talk about a sore miscalculation on Meghan’s part.

Part 4

Even once they were adults, he continued to keep a watchful eye on Harry. Perhaps that’s why, when he saw how besotted his young brother was with Meghan Markle, it has been reported that he sounded a note of caution, suggesting that he might be moving too quickly. Harry allegedly took it as blatant criticism and is believed to have told him: “You’re trying to wreck this relationship before it’s even started.’”

It was why Prince Charles stepped in and asked William to make an effort. And it’s why the Cambridges invited the Sussexes to spend Christmas with them in 2017, after the couple announced their engagement. Despite that warm gesture, however, the brother’s relationship never fully recovered.

Their last official engagement on March 9 2020 was attending the Westminster Abbey Commonwealth Day service. According to royal protocol, the Sussexes arrived a few minutes before the more senior Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Harry looked stony-faced throughout, and the two couples declined to talk to each other. The photographs taken that day speak a thousand words.

Now that Harry and Meghan have left the Royal Family for good there is a glitch in Prince Charles’s plan for a “slimmed down” monarchy that would optimise the amount of duties carried out and enable costs to be controlled.

At the moment it looks slimmer than perhaps he hoped. The Queen is 94. Princess Anne is 70, and both Charles and Camilla slightly older. Prince Andrew is out in the cold.

Perhaps it was all inevitable. There never has been, and still isn’t a plan for the spare, as well as the heir – and the result looks to be the outcome Diana most dreaded.

Might the brothers heal? It looked positive when Harry spoke during the Sussexes’ royal tour in South Africa in November 2019. He addressed the rift, saying: “We’re certainly on different paths at the moment. But I’ll always be there for him and, as I know, he’ll always be there for me.” The younger Harry was traditionally always the first of the brothers to make peace with other members of the family, if any disagreement had arisen.

The Duchess of Cambridge, who comes from a very stable loving home, will have no doubt tried to bring the brothers together, but William has been known to hold grudges. He adores his grandparents and is likely to have been shocked by Harry’s perceived disrespect towards them. He will no doubt also be bracing himself for what else may be revealed by his younger brother and his wife.

Sadly, as things stand, the rift seems to be pushing the couples further apart, with little chance of healing. It is sad for us, too, as a nation watching the psychodrama unfold – the next very public chapter of which will be revealed to us all come Sunday night.

The idea that men in grey suits run “The Firm” is absurd. Those suits are directly controlled by The Queen, Prince Charles and Prince William. Meghan’s Oprah outburst is a direct attack on those three individuals in no uncertain terms.

That’s the same Prince Charles who walked Meghan down the aisle after the fallout with her own father, and the Queen whose husband is currently seriously ill in hospital. This Hollywood attack isn’t just tacky, it’s a declaration of war on Harry’s flesh and blood. Grim.

@AnT I agree! If true, that is some serious lunacy on display. Kinda curious as to why the media post made her flip out (lack of control?) She is quite the hustler, suprising she gave up the paycheck. Or maybe her tirade had nothing to do with any of it and they caught the wrath of another's previous misstep? double booked herself perhaps? 😏

There has to be literally hundreds of Monster Markle memoirs out there. They can't all have NDAs , they are probably just content in no longer having to endure her period. A dad in the business , well respected, with myriad of connections and she ends up cable actress in Canada? Couple previous bit parts? Screams hellhound.

Different subject but I am super curious after her aides denied her the designer freebies what catastrophe did she immediately next appear in? Was it one of her more damning disheveled looks ,her own twisted show of rebellion. Charles then offered up his credit card so she proceeds to spend (bill) him one million dollars? I honestly can't believe I am reading any of this in MSM. Be pretty delicious if it comes out/gets exposed her and Mulroney "cooked the books" on the clothes. You know her ex-bff , another entitled bully.

Who is watching Oprah Sunday? (Monday) I will not watch it live but am most giddy for the aftermath with subsequent commentary *immediately* following.

They HAVE to address these latest revelations . Just what will Markle spin to win? Racism of course. Racist vs Bully Sunday Showdown. Tragic honestly

Oprah will make bank on this as she systematically destroys any goodwill between her and RF for forever. Does she align with Meghan to stick it to the RF or implode on Meghan and really give us something to watch. Somehow latter seems unlikely but I would PAY to watch her hand her a copy of her resume (CV) and ask her why she listed herself as "caucasian" . A true journalist with "nothing off limits" would do just that, black or white.

Surrogacy rumors should be addressed (Meg currently in way back machine feverishly photoshopping a baby onto her bare belly to counter?) Oprah is so shady. Maybe she'll get markled out of this and all her haunts uncorked next. Amazing how she made it through Weinstein and Geffen and her school drama rather unscathed . Presumably to now coddle a woman who cries racism completely disregarding said woman morphs ethnicities based on which side of the pond she wakes up on.

Only thing this hypocritical sh*t show lacks is a Corden promo advertising karaoke collaboration atop ferris wheel with 6 ex BP employees , Friday night 😀

@NeutralObserver,
LOL!!! You are so right, I need to be more like my ever-serene aunt Helen whose only expression in life was tiny smile or "o" mouth because she didn't want lines. I must admit it was mysterious to talk to her expressionless face (though she had a very warm heart, and an excellent send of humor!). But she did maintain a slim figure and tight, smooth, tight virtually-line free face as long as she lived! "Face creme and my bespoke rosewater, darling. Stretch your whole body three time a day! No coffee, only tea! Eat apricots! And always cook with butter." She had old school boyfriends offering dates until she was 85, to her 4th husband's chagrin. My mother (her little sister): "Oh god, that Helen, she'd eat face cream if she could."

@snarkyatherbest - Oh how I would love that and indeed, I think we may be just at the tip of the iceberg with what we already know and suspect about Maggot. As for the 'Fresh Prince of No Hair', the Blind Gossip link that I posted towards the end of the last thread would also be a good start, although it's wishful thinking that BP would want that confirmed.

It's becoming like a game of motorway 'chicken', or maybe 'My bomb is bigger than your bomb'. Who will hold their nerve because they know that they've got the ace.

Either way, I find it all terribly sad and will be glad when the wretched interview is over!

I watched the newest Oprah clip, sound off, and noticed Oprah's expression. Was it her "interviewer poker face" or was she not really buying what M was selling?

Unlike M, Oprah actually met and interacted with Diana and has observed the RF far longer than M has (Oprah is 30 years older than M). Oprah had a front row seat to the wedding. Gayle had front row seats to the wedding coverage, baby shower, and baby announcement. They SAW how well-treated she was at the moment she joined the family. They saw her in expensive, couture gowns. They saw her not following protocol. They heard Michelle Obama tell M to observe for a year before making changes and M doing the exact opposite. They saw her clutch her "pregnancy" in an weirdly-obsessive way. They saw faux pas, like the banana writing. They saw a US magazine, People, suddenly have an influx of "royal news" from "sources" after M joined the firm. They are buddies with George/Amal/Serena - 3 people who cried "Woe is Meghan, our good friend" and have said absolutely nothing in support since (and wouldn't now be the time to speak out publicly?). They saw M's stories released to upstage other royal events. Gayle saw Haz crash and burn at the bank talk in FL. Oprah and Gayle know that everything M and H say on these Zoom calls is word salad fluff that has no meaning.

So, will Oprah sit there and nod in agreement and say "poor, poor Meghan". Or, will she let M go down the rabbit hole of hard-to-believe stories with vague details or OTT details that highlight there is something not quite right with her and her situation.

This COULD be the best interview Oprah has ever done because M's narcissism is on full display in a way most people have never seen before.

There is a reason that Oprah isn't on TV anywhere and that is because she was rejected by her core audience. Will Oprah's coming back on television to accuse the royal family of racism toward a psycho mixed-race white-skinned woman launch her big comeback? Especially a woman that always identified as Caucasian until Harry, and that now darkens her face with makeup to appear more black yet wears wigs for straight (Caucasian) hair? And this is being shown on a network with the oldest demographics.

I expect that some people may watch the trainwreck out of curiosity (or voyeurism) but for most people, two hours is way too long to devote to a pity party.

And yes, what a tidbit. I wonder if it means what we think it means? Bye bye titles, money, passports, here's a photo of the box Archie came in? My client is usually a funny, dry wit sort of man and is clearly amused by feeding my interest as a little hobby when he hears something. He loves to gossip about business, and now, about this. But the last few tidbits he's heard, he has been much more serious. I think the depth of all this saddens him as a loyal subject of the Queen, as it has grown from silly gossip nuggets, to being so publicly terrible.

There are channels that exist that talk about black issues exclusively. I expect that is precisely why she isn't having her whinefest on those because the claims to be Caucasian and the plastic surgery would be addressed.

@AnT I take it to mean the RF are taking off the gloves, regardless of how it might reflect on them. At least I hope that's what it means. The public would respect and appreciate the RF for coming clean regarding any mistakes they may have made and taking responsibility. Unlike Woko Ono.

I had a thought about Oprah. I think she'll humor H&M but, if they embarrass her, she'll bring out her own blowtorch. I'm thinking of the author James Frey and how she blindsided him and his publisher, publicly humiliated him, and set fire to his career - all in front of a rabid studio audience!
Mom Mobile said…
Nutties,

I've been thinking about the ad for the OW interview. When Woko says so much has been lost already, I think she's probably referring to her miscarriage. When I put my psycho narc hat on, I ask myself, "What would be the most melodramatic/victim/sympathy grab thing to say?"

In other words, what can MM hide behind (besides lawyers, PR, and NDAs) and weaponize so she's not criticized? Of all the cards she's played, the alleged miscarriage card is more sacred than the race card at this point.

What would Oprah do to get revenge if she's played by the Harkles? She had Monique black balled so maybe something along those lines? Get them where it hurts. Harry will be allowed back into the fold of the RF, eventually (provided he divorces). So I think MM would be OW's prime target. Snuff out her access to celebrity. Eliminate any of her platforms.

Who has more power in Hollywood? OW or H&M? I'd bet it's OW. She'd come out with some public comment that could be read into, but she wouldn't spell anything out. Then, behind the scenes, she'd release her own kraken. And Gayle would pick up publicly where OW left off to finish off the job. Oprah doesn't like to get dirty.

BTW, I had a client who was a lawyer and one of her friends was a employed full time at Harpo Studios as legal counsel. My client said OW is CRAZY about NDAs. EVERYONE has to sign them. And her friend's job was to threaten legal action about every little thing.

My client (who happened to be black) also said that she'd interacted with OW on several occasions (primarily during tapings of her talk show). Her takeaway on OW? She's racist! Against black people! My client told me she witnessed it first hand. Oprah would be dismissive and rude to black members of the studio audience and literally put on a different face when she interacted with white members.

Also, when I worked at Neiman's on Michigan Ave., one of my lovely gay co-workers in the fragrance department told me his male hair dresser was had/having a hot steamy affair with...STEADMAN.

Let's assume this rumor is true and that the rumor about Oprah being a lesbian is also true. She certainly has a lot in common with MM and her life of duplicity. Present one version of yourself to the commoners and be the exact opposite in private.

BTW, I saw Steadman in person at the airport and hot dayum! That is one very handsome and distinguished gentleman. I can see why Oprah's kept him as her beard for so long!

@Luxem et al, re: Oprah. This really is a deciding moment for Oprah.

It gives me tiny, slight hope that she elected not to jump on the #metoo movement, and that is not me saying that I agree with her or the movement, just that for whatever reason, noble or sinister, Oprah did not jump on board. She is a rape survivor and would have had every reason to. I know there are conspiracy theories involving Oprah, but I do not subscribe to them. I am not an Oprah fan, either.

I am not sure how many are aware that, before picking herself up, working hard for many years, and becoming the success she eventually was (emphasis on was—Oprah has not continued to spin gold and is not wholly respected here in the US!), Oprah experienced real racism and hardship. Like her or not, nothing was handed to Oprah in those early years in the South and then Chicago.

I believe Oprah has the true measure of the woman Meghan is. What will she do with it? I would like to ask Oprah if it chafes to see someone like Meghan cry racism after having coursed through life on an easy path, denying her half heritage and never having to rise above the very real racism, misogyny, and poverty that a young Oprah endured and overcame.

Again, it is a very small hope I hold but Oprah, if you are reading this, understand that this is an opportunity for you to do something just and honor the very real struggles that black and mixed-race women before and after you have endured and expose the ways in which opportunists like the ambitious but not hard-working starlet Rachel Meghan Markle have exploited, diminished, and invalidated them. You deny your heritage only if you support the likes of her.
@Mom Mobile, thank you for finding your way here and posting! That is fascinating-I'm so far away from the entertainment industry, so it is interesting to hear what these people are really like.

PS, after reading @MomMobile’s comment: Or perhaps Oprah has already sold out and denied her heritage, and I should toss my tiny shred of hope. I heard the gay rumors about Stedman and Oprah back in the 1990s. I also heard that Stedman had affairs with women on his many golfing trips. So who knows, although I see the point about recognizing the life of duplicity.

But Oprah’s childhood and adolescence involved serious racism, misogyny, and poverty, and I still wonder how she feels when she sees someone like Meghan playing the race card.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall when Oprah and Gayle got together for the postmortem on the H&M interview. Oprah probably had Woko's number from the start and might even allude to it in her line of questioning but subtlety is likely to go over MM's head.

Why do all these people, H&M included, go through all these shenanigans to try to fool us? Is "fame" so precarious? They

Sometimes Megsy just has to actually annihilate a loved one publicly in order to destroy the relationship.

I'm looking at you Thomas, Jessica.

I am sure that really p*sses her off. "Why won't he leave me ALONE! Stupid unconditional love! Now look at what you are making me do!"

Could she have just jumped at the Oprah interview as a means of napalming Harrys relationship with his pesky, loving family?

She already knew the patronages were gone, the postage freebies were next... could Charles have cut them off financially?

Without the swag, the RF is just a threat to her total domination of Harry.

She needed the RF to hit back to feed the sugars and to advance the victim narrative.

I would so love to listen in on just one of the HAMS private conversations.

This will cost her the titles, I hope, but maybe she wants to be Princess Henry. Her sugars will plotz over that one. She wont like giving up Harry and Archies place in the succession, if that is possible. How could anyone accept him as a street sweeper is beyond me, much less King.

@Miggy...that story is beyond maddening. But even if she backed down, she wont forget. And anyone else who watched wont either. Bullies can silence you, but they have a real hard time putting down what people know. From that comes:

Hello

Meghan used a classic explanation statement in one of her statements about the bullying that tells me the stories are 100% true. (Which, we know they are!) She says, among other things, that the allegations are 'old'. I am friends with the attorney at my work and she tells me various things about cases she's involved in. She has told me that a few times she has interviewed clients who are being accused of something, and if the person says the accusation is 'old', she takes notice. Saying something is 'old' is a funny statement. It's a subliminal statement that the behavior more or less happened but either a long time ago (in the person's mind) or that the behavior happened awhile back and thus should be ignored or not a concern.

That story about Meghan and the photographer is chilling, isn't it? The more you delve into Meghan, the more and more sociopathic her behaviors seem.

There are certain celebs like Kim Kardashian, JLO, who used to have history of diva-esque antics. Seems like both of those women realized sometime that those kind of antics, once word gets out, can be the kiss of death to careers. Think of Katherine Heigl. Very beautiful and popular on Grey's Anatomy, seemed so sweet but apparently she was absolute hell. Her career more or less never rebounded. I have heard of people who have met Kim Kardashian and apparently she's an absolute sweetheart in person. Meghan, well, she could briefly fake that but she's too much of a bipolar, sociopathic narc to keep up any sort of sweet behavior.

One aspect of this that is funny is that, haven't we heard Charles can be a bit of a demanding boss? Maybe he'll be a little nicer after this 'review' of H&M's behavior. Who knows if the stories about Charles are true. I can see him being picky and fussy, but not necessarily a jerk or bully.

I think we can all agree that now the Queen, Charles, the whole bunch are behind the investigation into the bullying and not just William. To be honest, they came up with the perfect means of attact. It can't be originated to the Queen, Charles or William, just the Gray Suits. BUT the allegations are so serious that the RF has no choice but to investigate. With investigations inevitably comes more details!!!

Just read Carole Middleton asked Good Housekeeping not to promote an upcoming cover issue and interview that she did for the magazine out of respect for the ailing Prince Philip. CAROLE MIDDLETON asks that for a light interview regarding her company and but not that idiot Harry over an interview that could potentially deeply upset his aged, ailing grandfather. It really goes beyond understanding and just into madness.

I understand BP sending a warning shot to Meghan via ‘we will run investigations’. The issue I’m seeing is the comments in DM are getting increasingly nasty- calling Meghan all sorts of names. This is playing into her narrative of BP *encouraging* bullying. We don’t even comment about Meghan here with the level of vitriol I’m now reading there. It’s important to discuss the issues, and they are being publicly discussed now as they should have been years ago. It’s concerning in the sense that Meghan can play this against the RF, since the behavior is happening in real time as she paints herself as Mother Theresa.
I'm trying to remember what Prince Philip was credited with saying much earlier in the saga.

Was it something like `Full steam ahead and bugger the torpedoes!'? A paraphrase of what was was said at the Battle of Mobile Bay (1862)?

Any ideas?

Her destruction would do Philip a power of good and he'd die (not yet) a happy man, no doubt.

Why has the Commendatore at the end of Don Giovani come to mind? I hope Prince Philip haunts her for the rest of her life, in both corporeal and ghostly form - I want to hear a deep bass voice calling `Meghan Mar-kle!' and see the jaws of hell opening to receive her.

This version

This one has better Hellfire:

Don't bother with the one from Covent Garden 2019 - they went for a `psychological' hell, no fun at all
But if Grip repeats the Rose rumour and insists its true, can't W&K sue whatever media she's on in the UK for breach of privacy? Did not Grip just set a precedence?

Fascinating! It makes sense because, technically, they're not lying. It's interesting to figure out what people aren't saying when they release a statement. MM's lawyers probably advised her to focus on the age of the accusation because it was well documented and they can't really deny it at this point.

“Someone sent me some gossipy tidbits this morning—just some chatter about the upcoming interview. I sincerely hope that Meghan doesn’t hint at or openly discuss the allegations of infidelity that were leveled against William a year or so ago. That would be worse than anything she could say about the monarchy as an institution. Attacking the Cambridges’ marriage would be the absolute lowest point to which she could sink, and it would genuinely appall me. I really hope that isn’t the direction this is going."

Some of the Tumblr bloggers are saying she could try to pull out the Rose Hanbury rumours.

I cant imagine any context for this and I dont think even MM could sink so low. But it sure would out the source of those rumours.

The Oprah-Meghan “in your face, we want attention and our money” stance gets more tawdry by the hour. And — exactly! about the MM comment that the allegations are old — “several years ago” —a slip that simply confirms they are true. And now MM they can’t claim in two weeks that theyhad no idea.

@Mom Mobile,
I love your “wonder what the post Mortem was from Gayle and Oprah after the interview” question—I wonder if they are working together today on editing it into some form they think will salvage it? "Pay for us so we fit" first to come to mind 😉

But no I laughed as earlier I was trying to find out what happened to Meghan's mole (um yeah, break time!) and found that I had typed meghansmole.com into search engine 😒
(domain still available if anyone is interested..)

eeks I forgot name of poster who heard from her friend feeling was palace was going to torch the fields. I really do hope so. I honestly feel they must as this will go YEARS. Take the hit like you should have done long ago. Messy but no other alternative. Add to it too the potential for litigation involving the staff's HR issues. They must come correct, their inaction reflects so horribly . Honestly gives impression no one is minding the ship. Just my opinion of course but they really look bad in this and I am unsure of how they are even going to attempt to effectively clean mess up. Throwing money at it won't solve this one. Immediately announcing (and launching?) investigation came across well. I hope those that came forward are feeling supported . It had to feel fantastic for them to release to someone. Actually say outloud to someone who listened AND reacted. I imagine as traumatic and dramatic testifying would have been I bet every one of them desired to. All united, same lawyer even (telling)

No way in heck would this interview ever be broadcast on BET. Best I can tell Meghan hid/betrayed her heritage up until day she met Harry . Sensitive subject but I am pretty certain there are many who feel betrayed by that, but then again 99% of the population did not know who she was until she walked down the aisle

Oprah too. She knows what a creepy poseur Meg is but she is going to sit across from her and chat up racism and the evils of Royal living? Girl power? Shine a light on their faux humanitarianism? Stop it.

I hope she at least had respect enough to send advance copy of interview to the palace so they aren't living it live like every other announcement barked from the Harkles

Lastly, Archie. The biggest tell, in my opinion, of Meghan not birthing Archie is yes the absence of Demi Moore pose square on cover of Hello! And even disregarding her magical shape shifting belly is the lack of title for Archie. No way in thousand years would Megalomaniac voluntarily relinquish a title for her child. No way! Which in effect,to me, proves at some point the palace was made aware she did not birth Archie. Begs the question how much of the field are the powers that be prepared to torch?

Set it all free and take your lumps. Begin to establish some normalcy and rebuild trust. Monarchy isn't ending and neither will the nightmare unless all is revealed. In an instant you sever whatever hold/threat/blackmail /humiliation the Harkles obviously and continually hold over you. Enough. Charles newsflash your son is nearly 40. Sure he still wears same suit (shirt!) and shoes you bought him at 15 but he is grown man that chose this. Welcome him back or whatever after the fact but for right now end the madness. I bet he's still slipping money into some account somewhere for Him.

Press (US?) will beat that racism drum but it is going to happen regardless. It will die out soon enough (unless there is upcoming election?) Entire globe must feel US mercilessly beats and oppresses minorities. Racism exists (everywhere!) but not at the obscenely exaggerated and frenzied levels we are force fed here in the states. Well, not so much lately

I sure am talking a lot, nervous energy. Apologies :/

@MustySyphone,

The Harkles are both barking mad, juvenile and situationally obtuse. All privacy rules are for THEIR privacy, their feelings. While they throw brickbats of lies and accusations and innuendo at others. I interpret them as the truth is the opposites of what they say or do, and that at the core they are both immature teen girls striking out, who cry and pout and lie when caught. They may very well spew about Rose again, assuming no one will sue them because they are the untouchable special philanthropist world saviors.

In fact to deflect from Archie or money questions, she probably will hurl grenades at William and Catherine. Page Six has an article today saying basically W&K are living a good life with good people and want to remain distant from the ugly Harkle gutter.

There has been mention of a $9 million deposited in Doria's account. I don't remember all the details of when this was discovered. Could it have to do with this?

Re. William’s blowtorch

Were he to deploy the Torch, I wonder if it would be Archie-shaped. CBS will preempt its own program in progress for Breaking News—the Duke of Cambridge, 2nd in line to the throne states emphatically—on camera: “It is my profoundest wish the my brother and his wife seek treatment for their psychological issues. At present I am not an uncle because the Duchess of Sussex did not bear a child whilst part of the Royal family. It was I who posted about her use of a surrogate on the Kensington Palace Instagram account but in consultation with the Queen, it was felt that in the interests of protecting the Duchess, such information needed to be kept private. Our concerns about her state of mind go back to our first meeting with her. All the family's efforts to obtain mental health services for her was roundly rejected. We did attempt many times to ask how she was coping and we were repeatedly rebuffed with language I can't repeat here. (smile)”

Let Markle try to refute that without sounding unhinged.

I agree with snarkyatherbest. It will be subtle, but definite. The global adulation that she craves, will be not be. She'll be globally known, that is for sure, but not with adulation.

William, is smart, he's canny and he's not afraid of Meghan. Plus now, he likely has the unspoken consent of his grandmother and father. William probably feels that he can act in defense of his brother and his nephew and future nephew/niece. I can guarantee that the family, while angry at Harry, probably place blame squarely on Markle's lap and it's time to shut her up.

I will continue to print more items from The Telegraph if there is interest. They are not reporting anything earth shattering but their opinion pieces are interesting.

D: Five million dollars. But sometimes nine.

There is so much tea being spilt and I am trying to make sense of it and check sources. Here is a summary ...

Former employees of the Sussexes did not sign NDAs. They kept quiet out of respect for the monarchy, but someone finally broke and approached Valentin Low at The Times. Note that the three sources for that story no longer work for the BRF. Once the door was opened, others began to talk, especially the RRs who knew what was going on and never reported the truth.

The Sussexes knew this story was going to break and that is why they went nuclear in the interview, or could even be the reason they agreed to do it. It is likely that Valentin did approach the Sussexes and give them right of reply on the accusations.

This is wild ... as we know, the rumours about the Australian tour have been swirling. Now the rumour is that some of it is on tape or something like that? This may be fake news (I can't identify and verify source) but maybe something big is going to break about that tour.

Meghan accuses Catherine and Camilla of feeding the reporters with stories about her. Her reasoning is that how did the RRs know what happened at Charlotte's fitting if Catherine didn't tell them. (This one is too crazy for me to believe!)

If Charles really gave Doria 9 million (£ or $), he's an idiot.

I don't doubt he was probably given a sad sob story about how Doria had to quit her job because paps were gathering outside her workplace. And that couldn't continue since she worked at a mental health center. But as we've discussed, she didn't even have a license in social work. So she couldn't have been earning that much in 2018. Maybe $55K at most? (She does have the MSW but with no license...) So losing $55K, here's 9 million?

I wonder if Charles knows the price of a loaf of bread or gallon of milk?

@puds I probably couldn't find it again if I tried. I think keyword that ultimately landed it was "crazed" 😳 but glad I did as I had forgotten details as well. I thought she showed up to find it cancelled and reading description of 10 page rant in caps and overall psychosis implied was diabolically hysterical!

While here I will add my secondhand Oprah gossip. My sister worked for news radio station and they sent her everywhere to interview people. She was super excited when sent to interview Oprah. She isn't home or I would get more specifics ,i.e why. She went to Chicago and for some reason I recall interview taking place on a plane (I will ask her about it when able and update with any titillating details if necessary)

This was years ago when she was beloved and show still filming. She had to be promoting something to warrant interview. Anyhow my sister returned absolutely defeated. She said Oprah was complete b*itch. Dismissive and condescending. She was shocked and appalled how genuinely awful she was. Then straight up said "she hates women". I guess O really went out of her way to completely disregard every female reporter and only engage the men. Grrrr now I need more detail . My sister has freakish memory retention ( not quite to Mary Lou Henner level, but abnormally close) she will remember details. She was SO disappointed.

At the time I completely dismissed her claims. I chalked it up to my sister misinterpreting or over exaggerating, Oprah not paying her enough attention 🙄
It was peak Oprah , or I watched her and she is OOOOOPPPPRRAHH how can Oprah Winfrey be an asshole in real life?

I scrolled and couldn't find it but interesting the post above that read Oprah favored black women. I will have to reread in email. But peculiar similarity between 2 random stories on internet. An obvious showing of favoritism.

Oprah was the true American success story. Rising from extreme poverty, unspeakable abuse and of that building one woman empire. But somewhere along the way she went to the darkside. Too many bad player associations, too many bad stories. So many "secrets" . Steadman is as gay as Oprah is and none of my business but immediately one must realize her life is lived as giant lie. All the money in the world, obvious partner but plays cloak and daggers for ego? Does not seem healthy. But that is 0% the reason I dislike her. The gossip surrounding her is too wicked and plentiful to ignore

However, this lonnnnnnng interview will run on tv in America, jammed down throats for two hours. Most of all, it will be shoved in faces via promotional press. And for those many millions who won’t watch, this might be the memory trigger.

From this exposure, if she is viewed as obnoxious enough, or pushes enough buttons, or the bullying stories spread, I think that other people who “knew her when” will pop up and spill what they know. I suppose I view it as impossible that no one will speak. Obviously I may be wrong but I think odds are that somewhere out there is a story. Someone somewhere has noticed something compelling.

Sandie, HM issued letters patent to give titles to all the Cambridge children because gr grandchildren of the monarch do not receive titles automatically.

The privilege, for such it is, was not extended to a `child' called Archie; M thinks he should have had one by right (on the `It's not fair!' basis). Thus it doesn't have to be/can't be taken away.

HM knew from the outset that Catherine is `loyal and trusty' and referred to her as such - she hasn't said, ever, that of Megs as far as I'm aware.

As a retired employment lawyer I can tell you that if 1 employee comes complaining about their treatment by another employee or a supervisor, you say 'hmmm....and start checking their story for holes and their motives. When you have 3 or 4 employees telling of the same mistreatment + witnesses to the mistreatment + higher ups who are concerned enough to report the mistreatment........ well my advice to a client would have been to have them tell offender to clean out their desk now and that they were fired immediately - and then investigate how many employees were subject to mistreatment and to try to make it right.

Yes, one maybe but several, there can't be any doubt. And Megalo didn't deny anything. To dismiss the claims of bullying as something old is an insult to the staff. I do hope she is exposed for what she is. I think she made a huge mistake taking on the MoS and doing the Oprah interview. This may well be the beginning of the end for her.

If this was a private company, we’ve effectively already been fired and I’m not entirely sure what any process could be.”

Sounds like Meghan's word salad that never makes sense to me. But Harry also talks like that doesn't he?

Not only are they claiming they were essentially fired, but they cannot seem to understand why the BRF in particular would have to investigate accusations of bullying from a working royal/principal/senior royal.

Maybe Americans do not understand labour rights?
Sandie said…
@WBBM

Archie does have the right to use Harry's subsidiary title (which would be Viscount Dumbarton). The Queen did not make him a prince, but he is not without titles that he can use.

If they have a daughter, she will have the right to be called Lady and whatever her name is.

It is not that the Sussex children have no titles or styles, as Meghan insists, but that their parents decided to not use any. When the children are of legal age, they can choose for themselves if they want to use titles/styling or not.

As with the Wessex children, the Queen respects the parents' choice and uses their choice, but she has neither deprived or refused to grant anything to Archie in terms of titles/styling.

The Wessex children are on a par with William and Harry generationally....not hierarchy, obviously, but they are TQ's grandchildren, as opposed to Archie, who is a great-grandchild. Is it the great-grandchild aspect that determines it? Somehow I thought TQ had to issues LoP so that Charlotte would get the HRH, because as a female, she wouldn't have been entitled otherwise?

(One woman did say that she didn't want to hear anything about it until they dealt with Andrew first.)

While I think it's entirely possible that Nutmeg and her little pet are done for in the UK, I think she could easily be seen as a victim here in the US. Sandie said…
@Ian's Girl

The comparison between the Sussex and Wessex children is not about rank but about use of titles.

The Wessex children are HRH Prince/Princess because they are grandchildren of the monarch, through the male line. Their parents chose not to use these titles/styling, and instead their children are referred to as Viscount Severn and Lady Louise (as children of a royal duke). When the children are legally adults, they may choose to use the HRH Prince/Princess because no one ever took that away from them.

The Sussexes have put out the incorrect message that Archie has no titles. Not true. As the son of a royal duke, he can use his father's subsidiary title and call himself Viscount Dumbarton. No one ever took that away from him. Their daughter can use the style Lady as she will be the daughter of a royal duke. (And when Charles becomes king, unless he issues letters patent stating otherwise, the children then can use the titles/styling HRH Prince/Princess.) However, until the children are adults, the parents have a right to decide what their names are and what titles/styling they may or may not use, unless the children choose to sue their parents!

Posting this interesting snippet from an extremely long article in the DM.

The palace inquiry will try to get to the bottom of the Knauf complaint. The one question it will need to answer is whether it was taken to a higher level in the royal household or, as Mr Knauf clearly believed, was simply ignored.

How ironic if the latter is the case. This would suggest the very people whom Meghan has complained were out to destroy her, the 'men in grey suits' were actually the figures protecting her.

All the same, it is significant that the complaint should have been made by Jason Knauf.

American-born with a liberal outlook, he was educated at the London School of Economics and a university in New Zealand.

If anyone could understand how difficult it could be for a modern, opinionated and socially aware young woman like fellow American Meghan to adjust to royal life, it surely would be Mr Knauf.

The fact that she should end up antagonising him, an instinctive supporter, suggests the duchess's behaviour was worthy of censure.

Not long after he sent his email, a restructuring of Harry and Meghan's staff – which seemed to happen regularly – another American figure arrived to replace him.

This was Sara Latham, a former aide to Hillary Clinton who had worked at the highest level in the UK Government. With dual British and US citizenship, she seemed ideal – not just to manage Meghan's PR, but as a sounding board as the duchess adjusted to life as a royal.

But it too proved not to be a successful relationship. For palace old hands, courtiers cannot be blamed.

'Meghan arrived having no idea of monarchy and how it rests on public approval and carefully calibrated deference,' says a figure close to Charles.

'When she met Harry his popularity was soaring. She had no idea she would be playing second fiddle or even third fiddle after Charles and William and Kate.

'She thought she was marrying the equivalent of Robbie Williams in his Glastonbury days after his split from Take That. But the royals aren't Hollywood and celebrity, respect has to be earned and she didn't like that.'

Doria may be giving a lot of input to M on how to handle some things but I think if Doria see's M going way way too off script in to the twilight zone, Doria will bug out and leave M hanging.

@Sandie,

I can't tell you why so many Americans seem to fall for M's BS about anything. I suspect some buy the racism angle even though there's zero evidence of that. Maybe because race is such a big deal here in the US they assume it must be everywhere? Certainly when Obama was president, often criticism of his policies was met with accusations of racism too. And US presidents have always been subject to criticism so it seemed his skin color was the only reason Obama wasn't supposed to be.

Others buy the "runaway royals" escaping to freedom schtick. Most haven't been paying attention to details so I suspect those in the latter group think H&M are younger than they are and that since they left the UK they've simply tried to earn their own way while living private lives (vs seeking attention at every turn and being supported by the Bank of Dad and taxpayers at nearly age 40). I also suspect many have no idea what the royal duties they left behind entailed. Some probably envision they actually ran away from full-time 40 hr/week jobs royaling in the UK. At Christmas a family member of mine brought up M and essentially said some of those things. He isn't a royal watcher nor had he been paying all that much attention. It was just small talk. (He didn't know M is biracial, for example.) He's a smart guy though. I didn't even know where to start to explain all the things he'd missed to him without looking like a nut.

But like @JennS said, we do know about workers' rights in the US. The 5am emails could be a cultural difference though. We don't respect people's down time enough. But if emails were sent repeatedly after knowing it's not a usual practice there, it was deliberately offensive. And certainly bullying or throwing things isn't ok here.

I just googled Meghan to see American media is reporting about her.

The Daily Beast has this story :

Report: Ten Aides Ready to Testify in Meghan Markle Bullying Investigation
FORM A LINE
Pressure builds on Meghan Markle, with reports of aides “queuing up” to give evidence to a Buckingham Palace inquiry into her alleged workplace bullying.

Tom Sykes
Royalist Correspondent
Updated Mar. 04, 2021 6:49PM ET / Published Mar. 04, 2021 6:01PM ET

At least ten former staffers who worked for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are “queuing up” to co-operate with an investigation ordered by the queen into allegations that Meghan bullied her staff, it was claimed Thursday evening.

The claim was made in British newspaper the Mirror and, is likely to be taken seriously as it was made by well-sourced royal reporter Russell Myers.

Sources connected to the group, who have been assured of confidentiality as the investigation continues, said the staffers were considered to be “hugely professional and proud of their efforts” while working at Kensington Palace.

One source told The Mirror: “A group of people are queuing up to be involved. They have been silent for too long and there is much to talk about.”

It came after a report in the Daily Mail said that some alleged victims of alleged workplace bullying by Meghan dub themselves the “Sussex Survivors Club” and are believed to be suffering a form of post-traumatic stress.

The paper’s royal reporter Rebecca English said that during a royal tour in Fiji: “I witnessed Meghan turn and ‘hiss’ at a member of her entourage, clearly incandescent with rage about something, and demand to leave. I later saw that same—female—highly distressed member of staff sitting in an official car, with tears running down her face. Our eyes met and she lowered hers, humiliation etched on her features.”

A bombshell report in The London Times Tuesday said that Meghan systematically bullied members of staff, and that her head of communications, Jason Knauf, was so appalled by Meghan’s behavior that he put his concerns in writing to his superiors. That email was leaked to The Times.

Buckingham Palace responded by ordering a full investigation into the bullying claims.

Part 2

Meghan’s camp have been keen to point out that the complaints raised by Knauf were dropped. However, the Mirror’s source said: “The complaint was considered and those members of staff were spoken to and given the option of taking it further. For whatever reason, they decided not to, possibly because they were still in their job and they were worried about the implications.”

A source close to the Sussexes told the Mirror of the palace probe: “The first we heard about this was via the press—this is a whole tit-for-tat scenario. It’s not a complaint we haven’t heard anything but it’s very hard to know what the process is. If this was a private company, we’ve effectively already been fired and I’m not entirely sure what any process could be.”

A spokesperson for Meghan and Harry declined to comment to The Daily Beast.

No one truly cares about her or Prince Harry here in the US. They are a distraction from all the stuff (both virus & political) that has been going on for months and months.

The main portion of viewers will be out of curiosity and if it was 30 minutes or even 60 minutes, would be something to watch. The 90 minutes originally was too long and now 2 hours? People will turn it on, watch for a bit and then switch channels.

Meghan is boring to watch. Just look at the clips, like a wax statue. O is usually fake nice and then over the top. Most will be re-hashed and her whining poor me. I was so abused & misunderstood.

My opinion is that Jason Knauf and Sarah Latham who were supposed to testify at the ANL trail want to get out information on MM and that opportunity was lost when SJ was granted. When MM and Harry did the pity party interview with Oprah, then the dam broke and former staff members contacted Valentin Low. Apparently more staff are speaking to reporters.

Nutty brought up surrogates and other things that might be true. I think the next thing to be revealed is the supposedly high dollar agreements with Spotify and Netflix are much less generous as reported.

@Sandie: The Queen doesn't have to do anything about Archie's titles and styles beyond acquiescing to what the parents want.

Archie may be in the line of succession, but he has never had the right to HRH Prince styling.

The changes made for William's children were long overdue in terms of equality. The Queen couldn't address primogeniture without also correcting the glaring status inequality of the siblings as originally created with the LP 1917.

Before her correction, only the eldest son of the eldest son of The PoW could have automatic HRH styling. All other children would be Lord / Lady. Awkward if the eldest son was in reality the 2nd born child or if the heir was female, but the LPs granted automatic HRH Prince style and titles to their sibling on account of gendered language of the LP 1917.

Best to make all the children of the eldest son of the PoW HRH Prince. Problem solved.

She never bothered to extend it to any other children of the PoW even though it was presumed that Harry would marry and have kids at some point in the future.

If it's true that Meghan had a hissyfit about Archie not being made HRH Prince from birth then she's as misinformed as her husband.

And it's a silly hissyfit since he had courtesy title of his father's secondary title plus he becomes HRH Prince when Charles comes to the throne.

THE Duchess of Sussex has demanded a front page apology from the Mail on Sunday after winning her court case against them. Here’s how they’ll do it:

TWO years ago, we printed excerpts from a private letter between the Duchess of Sussex and her estranged father, a kind, caring man who is the real victim in all of this.

The excerpts were printed in good faith. We had no idea that Ms Markle felt she had something to hide, was desperate to stop the public seeing her true colours, and would go running to the courts like criminals do. And for that we are deeply sorry.

We sincerely apologise to Ms Markle for her errroneous perception that this newspaper did something wrong, and regret that she is such a fragile millennial snowflake that what can only be classified under British law as ‘banter’ was taken so badly.

That this apology has been delivered while her husband’s grandfather is in hospital is also deeply regrettable, and will likely upset Her Majesty at such a difficult time. Again, we are sorry. We did not want to apologise and made every effort not to do so.

We must also apologise to Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge and the true Queen of the People’s Hearts, for the suffering caused by having such an ungrateful, selfish fake of a sister-in-law. As always, Kate remains ravishing, a marvellous contrast and would never sue us.

Please forgive us for our clumsy attempt to save Britain’s great Royal family from being destroyed by an American interloper who has hypnotised our poor Prince. We only felt our readers, who have never forgotten that slattern Wallis Simpson, deserved it.

Finally, we very much regret that Meghan wears murder jewellery, permanently traumatised Palace staff by shouting at them, turned Frogmore Cottage into a sex tavern, and drove a white Fiat Uno through Paris on the evening of August 31st, 1997.

We really are so, so, sorry.

I was thinking about the possibility of PC having given Doria money.

If true, it will be interesting to see if that was legitimate and above board. If it was done in some underhanded, round about, or devious way, that has to cause some ill will with William.

If it comes out that PC has been secretly encouraging the Harkles, that is going to cause a lot of ill will with William I would think. Hes going to perceive that as his father undermining him.

I sure feel bad for William. He didn't deserve any of this. He's not only lost his brother but has possibly come to realize that he can't trust his father.

Harry and Meghan’s whole f*ck*ng problem is that they do not just shut up and earn the respect of others for even MINUTE. Instead they are hell bent on speaking and being vocal and ranting and roaring. People ONLY care about actions. How do these two not get it? It is absolutely mind boggling that they are ruining their second life opportunity in America to ‘restart’ on their own terms. Stop rehashing the past, zooming, and roaming around pretending to be doogooders. Head down, hard work! What is so hard to understand about this. They must have the worst advisors.

The Mirror reports that ”at least 10 ex-aides are queuing up” to assist in the bullying probe.

They have “been given assurances of confidentiality.”

One (source) said, “A group of people are queuing up to be involved. They have been silent for too long and there is much to talk about.”

I sincerely hope your daughter is OK now. I experienced a workplace bully. She was my boss for 7 years. She was awful. She routinely threatened people's jobs and tried to break down their self-esteem. She was finally fired a year ago. I still feel traumatized when I think of how she treated me and how her bullying treatment affected our workplace.
These people are toxic! I sincerely hope the full Kraken is released on the bully we are following. So tired of all her lies and manipulations.
God Save the Queen and prayers of healing for Prince Phillip.
Thank you to all who write such wonderful, insightful comments and post all of the articles and videos. I appreciate all of you.

@JennS,

Thanks for posting these extremely interesting Times articles. As I read the second one, it struck me that what she is saying, both in the video clip and these quotes, is very much like what the bullied victims are saying - silent too long, must expect I/we would speak.

Do you think her lawyers were briefed even a few more days ago than we knew, and they told her what was going to come out from the aides, and said “use this language before they can do so?” Then the Palace aides learned she had been briefed, and decided to jump out ahead of the story told her way?

For example:

After all of this time, we would still just be silent? (M speaks about the Firm, or could also be the ex staff about M&H)

it is MM who was “obsessed with destroying” these women, not her idea that “grey men” obsessed with destroying MM.

Perpetuating falsehoods about us (M about the Firm,, or the staff anticipating what M told O?)

Etc.

now MM is accusing Kate and Camilla of leaking stories to the press. I can’t see either one of them, who have each been cruxified much worse than MM ever was, leaking stories to the press. Kate doesn’t seem the type to even speak to the press unless she has too for ‘work’. and Camilla has been thru too much as it is. why would either leak stories? it accomplishes nothing in the long term goal of health of the firm.

her mental health has always been fragile.... she’s been psycho for years!!! I really think MM is crazy.... totally crazy. absolutely totally crazy.

MM is crazy jealous of Kate, so thats where that crazy comes from. Kate was very close the PH, pretty, etc, so MM has been trying to take her down and turn PH against her and Wills.
didn’t MM also accuse victoria beckham of leaking stuff? and isnt MM and Obie the real leakers?

The BRF, just needs to ignore the Sussex soap opera, and continue to bombard with their everyday charity press work.

why are the Harkles still whing and crying anyway? its been a year, they’ve supposedly made zillions of dollars, they left to follow their own path and should be very happy, why are they still wallowing in self pity?

AnT,

I love that they let it die. Meghan was a nasty egomaniac who was also abusive. What did the staff do? They moved on, they had dignity and respect for the greater good of the monarchy. But the key thing they did? Moved on.

Meghan, on the other hand, is trying to trade on false narratives and rehashing the past. She’s been able to talk freely for over 18 months (side note, government employees and regular employees can’t just roam around saying and doing whatever they want in life without risk of losing their positions), and here she is desperate. What better to self-victimize as a defense of her own actions during that time? This is her typical book of re-writing history. She has left them no choice to revisit matters they let die. Because they were truly victimized by this crazed individual.

Americans aren’t going to accept Royals coming to America claiming to be hard done by. Ok? Renounce your titles and get a job. We aren’t self appointed privilege folks reeking of entitlements only marrying into a government entity can provide. This semi-wealthy couple moaning and groaning of a circumstance that was gifted to them, and along with the gift came basic restrictions to play along, could not accept it? Ok? They left. Move on. That’s what most Americans are going to think. No one was murdered, no one died of Covid. You had bad press? And ran away from your job? These things won’t sit well. It doesn’t help in this day of need and income disparity they will be moaning to Oprah, a billionaire several times over. The rich patting the rich’ back during a pandemic.

The aides speaking out as a reaction to Meghan slandering them? What did she expect?

Another commenter noted that NO ONE steps forward and defends Meghan. Mystery *friends* and sycophantic Omid is not enough. Identities and circumstances need to come out to give her side any weight whatsoever, but as we know they don’t exist. Piers, Nenaki, her old publicist- they all were treated like garbage and ghosted.

Where are those 5 friends? Why haven’t they come forward?

@jessica,

I love everything you wrote — indeed, you’re right, these bullied people all moved on, though they say one is still quite traumatized. But, they moved on, until as you said she left them no choice but to fight. It seems Jason K might have organized the release of the story? Maybe he knew her well enough to know what kind of blame carousel she would be setting up with Oprah.

But look — they heard you, and now a couple of Megs’ sketchy old friends have been unearthed to defend her: Omid & Janina.

https://the sun.uk/news/14240857meghan-broken-megxit-oprah-chat-relief/

“Meghan was broken after Megxit and Oprah will free her”. !!! Broken, broken, broken. Ad nauseum. Did you hear, Megs was broken!

Her friend Janina Gavankar turns up to tell us about poor poor Megs yet again. Omid too. Pretty desperate for friends it seems.

God, what a boring whining depressing joke Markle is. How many times has this self-involved fraud had to “free” herself through books and speeches and whiny videos after she screwed up her cushy job in under two years? Free herself to what? Run back to her jobless life and rental in post-Suits Toronto? So broken, broken! God help her if she ever has to get a real life and work outside her lazy girl bubble.

As @JHanoi says, don’t they have zillions of dollars, a mansion, blissful marriage, genius son, A+ list access? Why don’t they shut up?

My LA set design friend said word was the questions and answers were nothing new, and that the Harkles definitely got paid a nothing special fee with no backside. I assume the re-edit will try to spice it up. But I doubt Oprah decided to reward them with more money for lying and forcing her into a costly emergency re-edit. Oprah probably knows the Harkles brand is going nowhere. She will wind these two toys up, put them on the floor, and they last as long as they last, or they sputter out.

They already got paid for this interview. Oprah gave them jet rides, and Tyler Perry’s house, and they may be living with Oprah to save cash. Harry and Meghan have easily scooped over $5mm already from her in that regard.

Meghan might have been somber in the car realizing the mistake they made giving out this stupid interview and not getting paid for it. Oprah has so much more power than her, it must have pissed her off. She actually needed someone for once. Tough luck, sunshine!

And, lol, your “tough luck, sunshine!” Ha! Of course you’re right, the Harkles already got their payment in kind, didn’t they? And so probably any “fee” was minor as my friends heard. Maybe just enough for hair glue, chicken sandwiches, and “get lost” money. I am laughing because your description of her car expression really is dead on.

This is something I've been wondering about.

Megs interviewed with O separately. Then another interview with H&M. Does H know what M talked about with O? Does he know what she said? Was he deliberately kept in the dark about what M talked about with O?

I wonder if either of them will see the finished product before it airs? Will they both be sitting in front of the TV waiting to see how O edited it? As new information comes out, there might be more editing going on.

I think overall, this will be a huge disaster for H&M. Hwood is all about secrets. they'll see that H&M cannot be trusted and just how phony and entitled they really are. More doors will close for them. O will protect herself above all others. And her partner in crime, Gayle, will be right there too. If O ends up feeling burned by these 2, she'll use her power/influence to close even more doors.

I am so waiting for some video evidence to turn up showing M on a full narc rage. fingers crossed

@JennS,

Oh my god, what a find! I am reading fast and need to reread.

Off the top of my head, this does make sense because yes, those witnesses who were denied the right to testify are likely these same bullied staff. They might have been ready to dissolve away again until Megs’s Oprah show was announced— I didn’t even make that connection and I feel like a prime idiot, lol! This is kind of brilliant.

We have heard the Harkles planned to sit with Oprah over a year ago —- but I can believe the whole of the content changed when Megs heard the staff was to be silenced and put back in the can.

Re if the Times has tape or video — rumor is they have absolutely solid evidence, more than a little. So do you think CBS fears a rival will show the footage in the US and UK to make the interview look even more like a joke or a poorly researched interview?

I need to read all this again and understand the suggestions, but, if true, wow.

——-@JennS,

And wait, how did Meghan think releasing it would be good for her, in terms number of views - what a fool. It makes her look awful, even if she lies to cover her guilt, but she doesn’t realize she lies poorly, of course. I think it is hilarious she didn’t know NDAs can be subverted, and that angry people might not care how they broke an NDA as long as their side of the story gets out. She will do anything to blab her story, and never considered others might speak up as well.

I wonder if the victims could sue her personally for loss of wages, career damage affecting earnings etc. A probe might result in the leverage that they’d need for a solid case.

He is reposting a lot of things right now. And a question answer session. And why he feels the Corden video was good, including the waffle maker part.

Seriously it was all about presenting Meghan as a does metic goddess and making out that she has a direct and loving relationship with the Queen.

I mean a waffle maker, lol the British don’t eat Waffles, it’s an American and as I pointed out in this answer;

Christopher Jones's answer to Why did the Queen give Prince Harry’s son, Archie, a waffle maker?

In the UK waffle is another name for word vomit. Waffle is feedback on essay’s - stop waffling get to the point!

In the case of Christine and the PR team they thought this was brilliant, it hit the points and makes the Queen look petty and Meghan a domestic goddess. After all Waffles are one of Americans favourite breakfast items.

Her special organic waffle mix and of course it’s the first thing that Archie asks for in the morning.

You had of course Harry stage managed with the look

She didn't want to leave any behind when she passed away. I believe all of her Corgies have been bred from the same line - a dog she received as a young girl. All the dogs from that line are gone now.
I wonder if she has been really sad/depressed over recent events and realized she couldn't be without dogs in her life. I always wondered why she couldn't continue to have dogs and just make arrangements for them after she passes on. Markle disdain has reached the Philipines.

https://pagesix.com/2021/03/04/biz-owner-battles-greedy-prince-harry-meghan-markle-in-copyright-feud/

A small-business owner in the Philippines has found himself in a nasty copyright battle with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle over the name of his deodorant brand, “Archewell Harvatera” — but he insists he is not going to be “swallowed by a greedy monster.”

“Archewell” is the name of the duke and duchess’ charity foundation, a nod to their son, Archie.

But it’s also in the name of the natural antiperspirant sold by manufacturer Victor Martin Soriano, who chose to call his product “Archewell Harvatera” last summer, a few months after Harry and Markle named their foundation in April, the World Trademark Review reported.

“You bet I can slug it out with them when it comes to legality, which I will,” Soriano told the outlet.

“I expect Meghan to take me head-on. All I can say is bring it on — I’ll fight you, you’ll see,” he insisted.

“We both have active [trade]marks so it’s a showdown and I’m not backing out if that’s how they handle things. It’s a duel to death, I will never give up!”

Soriano elaborated on his decision to fight the powerful couple in an interview with the Sun, suggesting it is a matter of principle.

“The foundation is okay, but it’s how she [Meghan] treats other people,” he said.

“I think I should win because I’m a small guy from a poor small country about to be swallowed by a greedy monster. I must succeed in this fight.”

Still, he promised that if Her Majesty asks him to ditch the name, he will.

“If the Queen asks me to withdraw, I will do it promptly, no questions asked,” he told the outlet.

The duke and duchess’ action against Soriano was filed in the Philippines in November.

Soriano has since filed to obtain a Filipino trademark for the term “Archwell Cosmetics,” World Trademark Review reported.

“I am anti-Meghan, but not anti-Queen and I am pro-Princess Anne,” Soriano told the outlet.

As I said somewhere, costs follow the event. Subject to a successful appeal MoS lost the case. Had they conceded at the beginning that would have been the time-limit of the costs to be awarded against them. They didn't and so I do not believe they can say 'well if the Plainitiff had applied for summary judgement earlier the costs would have been less and it is therefore their fault they did not beat us at that earlier time.' I just cannot see that, for there is no time constraint on an application for summary judgement. The MoS cannot say, 'you won the case but frankly our defence was so poor you should have won the case sooner' for that would be to penalise the party which prevailed.

Things are heating up right now for Monday and I am doing that American thing of stocking up on the popcorn - at least metaphorically. I apologise for using certain British idioms in my earlier posts: we are as Oscar said two countries separated by a common language. We are not however two countries separated by a common past and I would like to say that Acquitane is absolutely right when she said that our attitude towards race and our experience thereof is in this country quite different from that in America and for Markle to lob race-bombs at us as if our present and past is the same as that of America (not that I think either that America has anything to apologise for indeed quite the reverse) is both unfair and untrue. People here may gain the impression that I do not think highly of the DoS, but you should not let that fool you; I do not think highly of the DoS (or her husband).
I reckon the emphasis she gives to the Firm is to imply that the Royal Family can be equated with the Mafiosi in John Grisham's novel of that name.
ITV (Channel 3) will be showing the interview at 9 pm on Monday, all 2 hours of it, until 11pm.

How many will stick it out to the bitter end? It's not as if it's Foyle's War or A Touch of Frost - not worth losing sleep for.

They'll have to move the main News. I'll record it but watch something else. Then deal with it `a slice at a time'. I'll expect it'll be even less watchable than the commercials - at least we'll see who is prepared to be associated with them. (As Hitchcock pointed out, an audience needs loo breaks)

Will ITV do the decent thing by the Royal Family and allow only promotion of air freshener, antiperspirant, denture cleanser, weed-killer, rat poison and insecticide...?

To say nothing of Claudia Winkleman and Neil Oliver swinging clean, shiny, dandruff-free hair.

Any other suggestions? How about advertising that big tourist destination -

`The Tower of London - Because You're Worth It'???

Recently there was (yet another) post somewhere out in the world about how they will soon divorce.  And my first thought was: Haven't I heard this before?  which moved quickly to: how many times have I heard this (through the years)? There were a number of questions raised which ... I don't know.  I'm not a lawyer.  One of the points which has been raised is that KC would somehow be shelling out beaucoup money to get her to go "away".  That he has all this money stashed away and can pull it out at a moment's notice.  But does he? He inherited a lot of "stuff" from his mother but ... isn't it a lot of tangible stuff like properties? and with that staff to maintain it and insurance.  Inside said properties is art, antique furniture and other "old stuff" which may be valuable" but ... that kind of thing is subject to the whims and bank accounts of the rarified people who may be interested in it (which is not most of us in terms of bei

A Quiet Interlude

Not much appears to be going on. Living Legends came and went without fanfare ... what's the next event?   Super Bowl - Sunday February 11th?  Oscar's - March 10th?   In the mean time, some things are still rolling along in various starts and stops like Samantha's law suit. Or tax season is about to begin in the US.  The IRS just never goes away.  Nor do bills (utility, cable, mortgage, food, cars, security, landscape people, cleaning people, koi person and so on).  There's always another one.  Elsewhere others just continue to glide forward without a real hint of being disrupted by some news out of California.   That would be the new King and Queen or the Prince/Princess of Wales.   Yes there are health risks which seemed to come out of nowhere.  But.  The difference is that these people are calmly living their lives with minimal drama.

Christmas is Coming

The recent post which does mention that the information is speculative and the response got me thinking. It was the one about having them be present at Christmas but must produce the kids. Interesting thought, isn't it? Would they show?  What would we see?  Would there now be photos from the rota?   We often hear of just some rando meeting of rando strangers.  It's odd, isn't it that random strangers just happen to recognize her/them and they have a whole conversation.  Most recently it was from some stranger who raved in some video (link not supplied in the article) that they met and talked and listened to HW talk about her daughter.  There was the requisite comment about HW of how she is/was so kind).  If people are kind, does the world need strangers to tell us (are we that kind of stupid?) or can we come to that conclusion by seeing their kindness in action?  Service. They seem to always be talking about their kids, parenthood and yet, they never seem to have the kids
