Whistle Stops Planned

 They're back!

Smiling and looking tanned and relaxed.  Things look ever so wonderful in the limited pictures offered.  Such fun (read photo ops) planned.

Sure they have to dig up to pay for not one but two security firms as they still have not been given what they consider proper (tax payer funded) security when visiting his home turf.

Granted they appear to have turned down a chance to visit his father and stepmother (which would have put them within distance to drop by for tea with his grandmother).  One wonders if he will look back with that missed opportunity with any regrets.  Or his dad - I worry about his health as well but not as much as HM.

And the whole proximity to his brother but no plans to have their paths cross.  So many articles about this.  A space filler I guess for a slow news day.

The next several days will have a number of events which will be dutifully covered by the press.  I'm hoping that people remember that the changing the PM is actually an important event politically for the country's future.  And read those too.

There is a part of me which kind of wished Prince William would be there, along side of his father, just to watch.  He's the future.  This is one more (probably the last of this type) opportunity to help transfer knowledge from HM to the next generations.  When she's gone, that will be a massive data loss.  Her mind - so nimble (recollections may vary or the exit negotiations as recent examples).  That will be bad.  Very bad.

So they're back.  Might as well change the topic just in case something happens which is worth discussing.

Breaking news from the Palace: Doctors are concerned about the Queen's health and are keeping her under supervision; she's been ordered to rest. She's comfortable and happy.

I think we're being prepared for the worst.

We're off to a 60th anniversary party for friends miles away weekend after next. I shall pack suitable sombre clothing as well as my pretty frock.

Sky News: Chas & Cam on their way to Balmoral

Looks as if the end is nigh.
God Save the Queen
The Cambridges are also on their way.

I'm close to tears already.

Prince Charles, Camilla, and Prince William are all travelling to Balmoral.
Prime Minister Liz Truss has told the house that her thoughts, and the thoughts of the British people are with Her Majesty and her family at this time.

This isn’t looking good at all…..😞😢😞

BREAKING: Charles, Camilla and William head to Queen's bedside in Balmoral as 'concerned' doctors keep her under medical supervision….

I dread to think what the Sussexes will say or do.
Or it may just be William...

Husband corrected himself.

I am very concerned for HMTQ today as she remains under medical supervision and her family is traveling to be by her side. God Save the Queen!

Doctors are going to Balmoral and Charles, Camilla and perhaps William are travelling there. It doesn't sound good. Harry is too busy on the world scene and with Netflix. I hope as he is in the UK today that he dashes to Balmoral sans his witch.

THIS SEEMS VERY SERIOUS.

News on the radio here in the US is saying the Queen is now under “medical supervision as health concerns grow” and that Charles and Camilla AND William have gone to Balmoral to see her.

The New York Times lead sentence in its story reads:
“ LONDON — Quern Elizabeth II’s health appeared to be deteriorating on Thursday, with Buckingham Palace announcing she had been placed under medical supervision and that her doctors were “concerned” about her health.”

It goes on to say she has not been hospitalized and remains at Balmoral, but on Wednesday evening she abruptly cancelled a virtual meeting with members of her Privy Council after her doctors advised her to rest.
`Happy' was the wrong word - I can't recall now exactly what was said.

Liz Truss was making a speech about her energy plans in the Commons and was interrupted with a message about the Queen's health. It has to be really serious.

So, when does the dirt on Meghan come out?

"This is only hearsay, but in London a Brit socialite who knew her way around money, Europe, royalty told me - and my companion, so I wasn't alone in hearing this - that Meghan was known in the old days. 'She was around the famous playgrounds Europeans visit...and known to be shopping for a rich husband.'" That's a quote from Cindy Adams in yesterday's New York Post . Cindy is old - so old that she interviewed the original Duchess of Windsor. "Who was also American,"  writes Cindy.   "She was not happy afterward. She was tough. I interviewed her. She was constantly looking to negotiate some sort of financial betterment." So, when does the dirt start coming out? How about now. Who will drop the information? We've had more than 1200 comments since the Sussex summit on Monday, so please allow me to repeat part of my answer to a question hidden somewhere within that forest of text. A regular commenter asked for my input ...

Meghan, Harry, and Community Property in California

This is what happens when I take too long to write a post. My original idea - that Meghan and Harry should consider purchasing one of the " cheap old houses " popular on Instagram and fix it up as part of a reality series - seems to have been overtaken by events. Page Six is reporting today that Meghan and Harry already have a house in Santa Barbara, near Oprah and Ellen's pads, and in fact have been living there for at least six weeks. (This is not entirely unexpected; Harry's most recent hostage video had a different background than usual.) "This is the first home either of them has ever owned," writes the couple's PR agent via Page 6. "It has been a very special time for them as a couple and as a family - to have complete privacy for six weeks since they moved in." They could probably still be having complete privacy if the couple's PR team wasn't leveraging their real estate news in order to promote the new book "Finding Freed...

New Year (and what's next?)

Another year and what will it bring for them (and us who watch)?   One thing I thought of is control of their image for appearances.  It isn't just that they have lost so many people in such a fairly short time period but who they lost.  The people who advised, handled details to make the events happen - road trips to volunteering.  We've been saying all along that each loss is a ripple of warning towards a potential new hire coming in.  New hires, yes but what about fund raising?  Cash flow?  This, from SMM, is an interesting read: https://www.reddit.com/r/SaintMeghanMarkle/comments/1puzsvh/impact_report_990_review_from_a_nonprofit/ Which leads us to money.  Keeping their image engine running costs a lot.  No doubt there are a lot details, paperwork, contracts to negotiate and find new groups to partner with.  Hence the need for a good team. The duo could do some of it or all but for how long?   side note: the peopl...
