Netflix Trailer

 Well that's out now.

Timing is suspicious I suppose.  They may claim that since it is coming out soon they needed it to drop now.

How will it impact the current bruhaha from the other side of the pond?

I don't know.

Some will use this to carry water that this shows proof of all kinds of inherent problems but maybe not.  Maybe people will recognize that you have no control over what others say because they have a family member who can and will say things which others disagree with.  Those people will understand and feel sympathy.

What is good about this is that it will drive interest in PoW and PsoW because right now they will be front and center for cameras.  They are professionals.  They look good.  And this will leave a lasting impression in people's minds.

When the show finally does appear, it will be interesting to read the reviews of how people who haven't really been following this saga view it with fresh eyes.  It just may be a little too much - sugar?  them?  how the stars align always in a way against them?  too too?

Watching it may be all some people do with that information.  They are now onto the next bing.

It may also trigger people into looking for alternatives to the Sussex version of reality.  They may find the constant me and victimization to be over the top?  Or not credible?  They may go looking and find articles of how, say, the interview had a few false statements.  So it may open eyes to how things really were.

To paraphrase what was said in the trailer: something about making better or more sense to get the information from the source?

That is a shot over the bow, isn't it?  Similar in some ways to the comment about not signing any papers.

It will be interesting to see things are edited.  In the interview, there were a number of statements later proven to be false.  NF doesn't do retractions.  But they do make shows which don't always make people look as wonderful as they thought they would show up.

I rarely post, but this is my third in 24 hours, so I suppose that’s evidence of my concern about all of this. (I am modifying a post that I made on the previous thread, before I saw Abby’s note to hold off.)

I’m going to try to follow Prince William’s lead and stay optimistic that the Earthshot Prize can be the news today and tomorrow. I will continue to avoid clicking on the baiting/Sussex stories and tweets. And I will never watch the Sussex “documentary.” M and H lack self-awareness and manage to self-harm at every over-stylized opportunity; we shall see if the new director has managed to steer them away from it, but I expect the inconsistencies and victim narrative will leave a lasting bad taste.

I agree that Monday night’s embarrassment was probably hoped for and encouraged—wear African clothes, perhaps speak with an ambiguous accent, knowing that BP staff ask such questions.

Overall, the lesson for the BRF is that it has a new type of landmine to navigate, and it can have no staff speaking to anyone without a keen awareness of and training in how to handle possible baiting situations. It should have been anticipated well ahead of the Sussex book and docu drop and the Wales’ big US visit. All missteps will be reported and the press are salivating for them, so they have zero margin for error.

Sorry, I posted on the other thread so it has all got lost!

I just find it odd that while she had her head in her hands supposedly crying (and we do not know where), someone gets a camera and adjusts focus, depth of field and so on, and takes a photograph?

Narcs cry and throw tantrums when they don't get their way (like if you don't do what they tell you to) or when they feel they are not in control of a situation. It is a bit like dealing with a toddler, but I suspect the duchess has far more sophisticated acts. Really ... I experience this far too often. On the other hand, they have zero regard for the suffering and hardship they inflict on others.

yes BRF need to understand the combat of social media. does no one on staff know how to google anything. or search inst and twitter. took social media sleuths about 2 minutes to get more information about the victim of the racist interrogation which left her traumatized (geez and we thought the duchass was unique in her behavior and drama). she never should have been invited. i imagine there are dozens of organizations that could have stepped in. the BRF needs a pit bull to fight for them. and i hope lady hussy gets a call or visit from camilla and a huge bouquet of flowers. behind the scenes. poor thing crash and burn at the end. and someone is bragging about forcing an old woman to resign.

Great comment! I agree wholeheartedly.

I have not read the last comments on the previous thread, because it’s 8 AM in my time zone and I woke up to the new Sussex drama all over the net. So, I may say something that someone else has already said. If so, I apologize.

Re: the Racism Bruhaha: Ngozi Fulani wore ethnic clothing and hairstyle to an event at the palace. It is certainly not unusual for people from the Commonwealth countries to attend these events. The elderly white woman (who has attended multi-cultural events for decades)was an easy target. I think that Lady Hussey’s comments were blown out of proportion by someone looking to be insulted. And, why does Fulani expect Prince William to apologize? This all seems suspicious to me. I would not be surprised to learn that * has reached out to console her… This incident might prevent Prince Charles from removing their titles, due to fear of racial backlash. I hope some Commonwealth leaders come to the Palace’s aid on this issue.

The images released by NF are laughable and some look like re-enactments. Why did they have a photographer in a hotel with them? These two are known liars, so I refuse to give them any latitude.

I agree that someone like Lady SH was not prepped for the situation she encountered. The Palace did not research who was going to be there and give everyone a thorough briefing.

But, if the encounter took place as the woman described Lady SH did behave oddly. Oh, to go back to the days when we could all have a laugh about a rather old 'Companion' and previous Lady in Waiting behaving rather weird.

for the Mrs these candid pics will help to resurrect her image.any people comment how lost he looks in public pics when he is with her and how relaxed he looks when she is not. she needs to sell this “live story” otherwise she will continue to come off as using him for her own fame. this will set the narrative that however she spins a separation or divorce in the future it was not of her making
will be fascinating to see what she doesn’t next especially since the next Pr push is about him and less about her. how will she sabotage any of that. insist on being next to him for any interviews? drop a bombshell while he is at a book reading? she won’t take backseat to the book.

I stand in amazement at what has happened in the last 24 hours.
A video that shows a child - well, three generations. An offer to consult on a book about racism in the Family. A family servant resigns after doing her job that she has done faithfully for 60 years because of an encounter with someone who has already alledged a woman encountered domestic violence while in the RF. The Firm has to respond. The brother, who is doing his first overseas visit as PoW and launching one of his projects must comment. A trailer drops for the Invictus Games happening in one year (one year?) And now NF drops the trailer to a "love story" which airs next week.
I had guessed on the photo of the child.
I had guessed on something about the either the Series or the Book.
Must when stuff happens all at once, it cannot be a conincience.
This is war. No other way to call it.
I am in hopes that team of attorneys that Charles met with early on is advising him how to go forward. I hope the Family - brother, sister, nieces, nephews are advising him. I hope he seeks answers from his advisers from Parliament, the church, and his own personal relationship with God.
I hope the British press double checks their sources with their legal teams and releases a kraken to counter all these claims.
I hope ultimatley we see a Kraken from Charles in settling all debts and family business.
Rant over. I feel better.

Mrs Fulani nee Headley has just been on BBC1 news.

Earlier today I put on my genealogist's hat and has a look for the family online at a free website

Registrar General has a record of 2 entries with the surname Headley, one called MarLene, the other Ngozi, married simultaneously to someone with the surname Fulani in 1990.

Somebody called Marlene Headley was born in Willesden (still London) in the first quarter of 1961.

I can only think she changed her first name as well as her surname when she married.

Nigel Farage accuses Buckingham Palace racism victim of 'looking for trouble'
Connor Parker

Thu, 1 December 2022 at 4:33 pm

Two GB News presenters have questioned the motives of Black charity campaigner Ngozi Fulani for exposing racist comments by a royal aide.

Nigel Farage and Dan Wootton, two of the channels most high-profile presenters, were both critical following the resignation of Lady Susan Hussey, who quit after repeatedly asking Fulani where she "really came from" during a Buckingham Palace reception.

Fulani is the founder and CEO of Sistah Space, a grassroots organisation that supports African Heritage women experiencing domestic abuse. The Palace event at which the incident took place was being held to highlight gender-based violence.

In a series of tweets, Farage accused her, without providing evidence, of trying to cause "trouble".

"I believe that Ngozi Fulani was looking for trouble," he said. "How is it a racist outrage to ask someone in African dress where they are from? This Royal story is not what it seems." (my emphasis)

Farage also questioned how Fulani had a transcript of the conversation, which she posted online.

Following the incident, Fulani has said it was not her intention or wish that Lady Susan should have to resign her position.

Wootton said previous tweets posted on the Sistah Space twitter page demonstrated Fulani supported the Sussexes against the rest of the Royal Family.

He said: "While it’s terrible Ngozi was made to feel uncomfortable at Buckingham Palace, it is surely the duty of any journalist to point out she has previously accused Charles and Camilla of 'domestic violence' towards Meghan."

Read More: Lady Susan Hussey row: 'Are we saying that because you're 83 you can’t be racist?'

Ngozi Fulani had denied ever tweeting about Meghan. (Twitter)

He shared images of tweets sent from the Sistah Space charity account saying: "According to clear definition, it seems Meghan is a survivor of domestic violence."

The tweet, which did not name either Charles nor Camilla, ended with Fulani's name in brackets, appearing to show she was the person to wrote it.

Wootton shared another Sistah Space tweet, this time without Fulani's name, questioning why Harry and Meghan were not allowed on the balcony during the platinum jubilee celebrations, and saying racism was the reason why.

Fulani denied to Jeremy Vine on Thursday that she had ever tweeted about Meghan and Harry...

NB Farage said it was his belief ie his opinion.
Why are they focussing on the Commonwealth?

I'll lay a pound to a penny that she thinks that if she can't be Queen that she should damn' well replace Charles as Head of the Commonwealth.

How the F- has all this come about? Two junkies trying for World domination, running rings around us...?
OCGal said…
1. Twitterverse has lots of revealing info about Marlene Headley, the real name of Ngozi Fulani as Sandie and gloriosasuperba pointed out. I liked Sandie's comment:

"The woman who stirred up trouble for the Palace: supposedly her name is actually Marlene Headley and her parents are from the Caribbean!

In an interview she denied ever tweeting/posting about TBW the tweet exists and has been shared by many.

She does have a connection to the couple's photographer." - end quote -

2. Lady Susan Hussey may have been a bit ham-handed in her questioning of Ngozi Fulani, but I am confident Lady Hussey thought that was her raison d'etre at this event, as it was in the days of Her (late) Majesty.

A royal expert commented about the kerfuffle explaining that questioning interesting guests at such royal events was an expected task of the ladies-in-waiting of QEII so that the ladies-in-waiting could smoothly and accurately introduce Her Majesty to interesting guests, and make everyone feel a connection. Queen Camilla seems much chattier than QEII, so perhaps Lady Hussey's assistance is no longer needed to identify and introduce interesting guests via short bio to the new queen. In any case, I feel so sorry for Lady Hussey to be branded harshly on the world stage and "made redundant".

Some much-needed levity from The Spectator:

Cockburn

Thank God: Netflix releases Harry and Meghan doc trailer

‘How on earth does this pair have anything left to say?’

Sorry for the delay: Cockburn has been busy bleaching his eyes after watching the trailer for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s newest venture, a Netflix documentary on “their story.”

People magazine claimed, “It’s Meghan Markle and Prince Harry like you’ve never seen them before,” which makes Cockburn question if the publication has had its eyes and ears shut for the last two years.

The documentary series, which is composed of six episodes and will premiere in December, includes personal footage of the pair at their wedding reception, on a trip to Africa and while Meghan is pregnant.

But what’s a Meghan and Harry venture without the doom? The trailer also includes footage of Meghan wiping away tears. Perfect timing! They also included footage of Prince William and Catherine while alluding to tension. Also opportunely timed, as the Prince and Princess of Wales just arrived in the US for their royal tour.

“Why did you want to make this documentary?” the couple is asked in the promo.

“No one sees what’s happening behind closed doors,” Harry says. “I had to do everything I could to protect my family.”

Meghan then says, “When the stakes are this high, doesn’t it make more sense to hear our story from us?”

Save yourself the bother next time Whinge and Ginge — when someone asks why you’re doing something, just say “cash.”

Royal insiders have told Cockburn exactly what they think about the couple’s new flick. It included some expletives that Cockburn couldn’t possibly write. But the source also said “How on earth does this pair have anything left to say?”

Cockburn must give credit where it’s due though: at least the demanding duchess didn’t insist on her title being included in the name, which is just “Harry & Meghan.”

Cockburn is off to stock up on popcorn and bourbon for this one, seeing as his editors will demand him to watch the whole damn thing. Is anybody else hiring?

And a brief word from Hilary Rose in The Times:

What must the Waleses do for some limelight?

Just when you thought it was safe to go out, just when Meghan’s series of podcasts has finally ended, this happens.

The “Netflix official series announcement and teaser debut” for Harry and Meghan has landed and, by happy, scene-stealing coincidence, it’s on the first full day of the Prince and Princess of Wales’s US tour. Who could have predicted that?

Just when the Palace thought the news couldn’t get any worse, it looks like it’s going to be dynamite. In silent clips, Meghan weeps elegantly, presumably as she speaks her anguished feminist truth about marrying into the life of fame and wealth she always wanted. Harry plays the guitar. The couple kiss. There are toy soldiers marching up the Mall and rescue dogs cavorting on the green, green grass of California.

“I had to do everything I could to protect my family,” says Harry.

“When the stakes are this high, doesn’t it make more sense to hear our story from us?” says Meghan.

We can speculate about the Sussexes’ motives, from greed, to revenge, to bringing down the monarchy, who knows? But the fact is that Montecito’s most famously pissed-off residents are clearly determined to suck the oxygen out of every single thing the Waleses do between now and kingdom come.

If it’s possible to feel sorry for two people who live lives of unimaginable wealth and privilege, I feel sorry for them. And I don’t mean Harry and Meghan.

IMO, C&C and The Wales' should not address the brouhaha, but they darn sure need to allow their friends to talk. Many friends and supporters need to raise their voices. Netflix, the MSM, and others are complicit in trying to destroy the institutions of the west including the Royals.
Thank you Abby for the link to Leilani's video - what a delightful person.

I too believe this was a put-up job. I feel so sorry for Lady S, she's been treated very shabbily. The was none of the profound respect for age here that we understand is the hallmark of African society in the way Marlene treated her.

------

Marlene, indeed! Do any UK Nutties recall Beryl Reid's character `Marlene from the Midlands'? To say nothing of her catchphrases said in strongest Brummie tones- `Good eveningk, Each!' and `D'yer loike me earringks?'
NF from Willesden certainly has the `roight earingks'.

Apologies to Brummies - my father's folk were from the Black Country - whoops, not Africa but the filthy dirty industrial belt around the western side of Birmingkham. Dad pronounced the intrusive `k', from the way his father spoke, for all that he was a Londoner - thus he spent his spare time `gardeningk'..

Thanks. What I wonder about is if there was anyone who is a neutral party who heard the conversation. IDK but did it happen that way? And I don't think the Lady should try to meet with the outraged woman or if she does, film it live so the world can see and hear what was said, how it was said and the body language of them.

Talking about body language BLG is dissecting the trailer.

I've been thinking about this whole thing re NF.

There is a rise in the clamor for take back the titles. We know that would actually be worse titles in some ways. So that's out.

And, timing on something like that has to be done before they come out with the big bad sob story. Otherwise it appears vindictive and adds life to the victim saga.

No. I'm thinking about a lurking kraken aka the super injunction.

We don't technically know that there is one about, say "the kids" or any of the other things we have suspected because the supers are not even allowed to to have anyone acknowledge they exist.

What if that got lifted right before the release of the NF though?

Ngozi Fulani or Marlene Headley is the only one with the so called transcript. She remembered word-for-word, what an amazing memory or creative mind she has. 🙄Mighty odd too, that the accuser is the only one complaining and going straight to the press about her so called treatment.

Today on Radio 2, she’s denied she tweeted (March 2021) and accused the King and Camilla of domestic violence towards Maggot. She had a clear agenda with her guest visit, an anti-monarchist race-baiter turning up dressed in what looked like African attire yet her background is Caribbean. She knew about the Boston’ visit and Duo’s ‘award’. Lady H is the victim and she should steer well clear of Marlene Headley, Marlene will only use it for more ammunition and mud slinging. 😳
ieschew said…
@AbbyH, yes, RF lift the super injunction and then, credible people outside the RF:

1. Show how Meghan shunned black classmates and had no black friends. Show how that continued into adulthood. She called herself white and sought relationships with only white people. Show how she treated staff in Africa. Kill the racist victimization narrative.

2. Show what Meghan did to sorority sisters at Northwestern. Show how she has treated female friends and especially staff. Prove that she was behind the Rose H and Charlotte bridesmaid rumors. Kill the pro-woman narrative.

Neutralize each of her narratives and if she doesn’t stop (we know she won’t), then expose the real dirt.

This woman is pure evil and she will not feel humiliations the way most people do, so neutralize her by making other people humiliated to be associated with her In any way.

Her `lure' was quasi-African garb - of course people will be intrigued and ask about it. After all, we often use clothing to say something about ourselves. She projected an African image to create a misunderstanding.

Totally deliberate and doubtless in cahoots with *. Her vocabulary gives her away - `authentic', `my truth' and `reached out'.

I agree with all who say it stinks.
BTW Angler fish have huge mouths and it seems that they only have to open them for the prey to be caught in the inrush of water.

Too much unnecessary opening of mouths here.

This is a commentary in the Times about the Lady Susan Hussey controversy. Although it was published yesterday, it is excellent, and I thought some Nutties might find it worth reading. It mentions our two villains:

Lady Susan Hussey doesn’t deserve this vitriol
Two worlds collided at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday night: a Lady in Waiting encountered a Lady in Wokeing

By Allison Pearson

Required to deal with an almost unimaginable amount of social change, the oldest generation has done pretty well, I think. Words that were once harmless are suddenly a linguistic IED, likely to blow up the unwary or the merely old-fashioned.

For years, my incredibly polite mother used to say “coloured people” believing that calling someone “black” was rude. Her grandchildren were horrified. Like all young people these days, they believe they invented virtue. Enthusing to the family about Paul Robeson’s glorious voice, Mum used a now-banned word to describe certain songs of his and all hell broke loose. “You can’t say that, Grandma,” squawked the non-binaries. “What do I call them, then?,” their grandmother asked meekly. They settled on “spirituals”.

At least my mother’s “unacceptable and racist language” was not the lead item on the BBC News. That hellish mortification befell 83-year-old Lady Susan Hussey. For 60 years, Lady Susan never put a black patent court shoe wrong as Lady in Waiting to Queen Elizabeth (and godmother to Prince William). This week, she blundered into a very modern minefield where one individual who is minded to take offence, whether offence was intended or not, can cancel a lifetime of discreet and loving service.

Ngozi Fulani, the leader of Sistah Space, an east London charity for victims of domestic abuse, accepted an invitation from the Queen Consort to a reception at Buckingham Palace to raise awareness of violence against women and girls. According to Ms Fulani, she was approached by Lady Susan who asked her where she was from. When Ms Fulani explained her organisation was based in Hackney, Lady Susan persisted, “No, what part of Africa are you from?” When Ms Fulani said there were no records, the courtier pressed on regardless, “But what nationality are you?” Ms Fulani says she replied, “I am born here and am British.”

That should have been the end of it, clearly. A younger, more alert Lady Susan might have picked up a growing prickliness in the response, but she was like a corgi with a ham bone: “No, but where do you really come from, where do your people come from?” In that use of “people” one can hear the terrifically posh (“pipple”), almost extinct voice of the English aristocracy (Lady Susan is the youngest daughter of the 12th Earl Waldegrave.) Reading the transcript of the conversation (a very odd thing in itself; was this private exchange being recorded? If so it was a gross breach of etiquette), you can hear two worlds colliding: Lady in Waiting meets Lady in Wokeing.

After decades by the monarch’s side, Lady Susan is trained to break the ice and draw people out, which is what she was doing with Ngozi Fulani. Her opening gambit was fine, but the refusal to accept the guest’s insistence that she was British comes across as overbearing and, quite frankly, rude. Was she being racist? No, I don’t believe she was, because there was no malice in her behaviour. She was simply being rather grand and octogenarian; conditions Lady Susan can do very little about.
Rebecca said…
Ngozi Fulani went public with her distress on Wednesday morning and the damaging story was swiftly retweeted around the world. If the Queen were still alive (goodness, we miss her), I have no doubt she would have defended her old friend; the woman she chose to accompany her on that last, lonely journey to Prince Philip’s funeral. There might have been some holding statement along the lines of the immortal “recollections may vary”, which is how her late Majesty responded to Meghan and Harry’s allegations of institutional Royal racism during their interview with Oprah. But the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s highly-emotive media manipulation has changed the decorous rules of engagement. Within a few hours, the Palace described the remarks as “unacceptable and deeply regrettable” with Lady Susan apologising and resigning from her honorary position.

Some have accused the Palace of acting with “indecent haste”. The jolly, unrufflable Susan was a shoulder for the sensitive young Charles to cry on; she was one of six female intimates to receive a special gold brooch featuring the ostrich feathers and coronet crest of the Prince of Wales. The select group became known, rather wonderfully, as Charles’s Birds of a Feather. No, the ruthless speed of the banishment is a testament to Palace nerves. They are worried about the reception of the Prince and Princess of Wales on their current trip to the States and even more on edge about Harry and Meghan’s £88 million Netflix docu-series which, with diabolical timing, is due to be broadcast next week. Advance stills show the Duchess in tears, doubtless weeping over further reimaginings of “my Truth”. If, as feared, the programme rekindles allegations that Meghan was mistreated because of her skin colour, the Royals simply cannot afford to have an allegation of racism hanging over a senior member of the court. Poor Lady Susan is collateral damage in the Battle Royal.

It is, of course, perfectly possible to take a slightly different view of the clash of the charity boss and the Woman of the Bedchamber. If you turn up at an event in African dress, then don’t be too surprised if questions are asked about your heritage.

The leader of Sistah Space appears to have previously tweeted in support of Meghan and Harry and made nasty remarks about Charles and Camilla. “Harry and Meghan won’t be allowed on the balcony?,” ran one tweet from the charity, “They’re in a completely different category to Andrew… Harry married & had children with a black woman. An all exclusively white balcony. The only black people, banned. RACISM!”

And in a second tweet in March 2021: “Our charity supports black women DV survivors. I can’t stay silent about this. I admire Meghan for speaking out. According to clear definition, it seems Meghan is a survivor of DV from her in-laws.”

Now, why would you willingly venture into a palace that is a bastion of “structural racism” for an event hosted by a person you seemingly believe to be guilty of domestic violence? One Royal insider fumes that it’s a “stitch-up” that could scupper William and Catherine’s visit to the US. I’m not sure about that conspiracy theory, but there is more than a whiff of conveniently confected outrage here. As any fair person looking at photos of the reception Ngozi Fulani attended can see, the Royals are going out of their way to be as diverse and inclusive as possible.
Rebecca said…
In all of the furore, the UN’s “16 days against gender violence” featuring heartbreaking stories of women murdered by their partners is quite forgotten. And one much-admired elderly lady, who served her Queen with great distinction, has her reputation trashed because, just once, in all the decades since 1960 when she took on her role, she got things badly wrong. What a brutal, unforgiving people we have become.

Lady Susan will be desperately upset that she has caused embarrassment to the King, his Queen and her beloved godson. When cruel things were said about one years ago, Susan Hussey and her childhood friends would chant, “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.” She will need to call on all that fierce wartime nonchalance, the enduring stoicism of her great generation to weather this storm. Personally, I hope she gets tons of emails of support. Our late Queen is with you in spirit, Susan, sitting right next to you in the back of the car, under the rug you always shared, a gloved hand laid on your gloved hand. So are we.

PS—There are over 5,000 comments on this, the most I have ever seen at The Times.

Charles must address the racism accusations, because more “experts” are jumping on the bandwagon. The ROH award will add more fuel to the fire. It would be nice to see some of his black friends and supporters step up and denounce this nonsense.

I hope they are looking for a witness to the exchange between Lady Hussein and the woman who came to the Palace event disguised as an African. I would love to see that narrative/script debunked.

The Wales’ trip has been ruined. I have seen no news coverage of the Earthshot awards. Unfortunately, Caroline Kennedy was a really poor choice to partner with and they learned that lesson the hard way.

The awards take place today, so I haven't seen any news of them yet (I'm in the US, Central time zone.)

And Caroline Kennedy wasn't a partner, I don't think? There was an attempt to create a scandal when she didn't appear at something, but it turned out to be a late arrival due to airport weather delay.

I agree that attempts have been made to ruin their trip by this deliberate setup. Is this the worst one yet? Just watched the local Boston news and the stories about William and Kate's visit has been very positive and are the #1 story. There was one small mention about Harry and Meghan's Netflix trailer being released which was referred to a "Harry's bid for attention". The reporters also specifically mentioned that EVERYBODY she spoke with said that the couple was 'genuine'.
@Observant One,

The actual awards aren’t till Sunday I believe, the Wales’ have just visited Boston.

The timing of the awards isn’t bad, the despicable pair and the fiasco between Ngozi Fulani (or Marlene Headley as she’s really called) and Lady Hussey are all agenda set to cause problems, and to try and upstage the Wales’ visit.

There are a number of articles in the UK in support of both Lady Hussey and the Wales’, as per MAUREEN CALLAHAN: Harry and Meghan are immature, self-pitying losers - and this Netflix trailer is wrecking Kate and William's US visit. But mark my words: They may be winning the PR battle... but they'll lose the war

And….

SARAH VINE: Harry and Meghan's Netflix trailer shows weapons-grade narcissism and a Biblical level of betrayal…

The Joe Rogan Experience’ Was Spotify’s Top Podcast—Despite Protests About Him Being On The Platform.

"Joe Rogan's controversial podcast The Joe Rogan Experience was the No. 1 podcast on Spotify in 2022 globally, the streaming service said Wednesday, despite wide-ranging protests from Spotify artists and personalities earlier this year about comments made on Rogan’s show about Covid-19 and the host’s use of racial slurs.
Spotify tracked data from January 1 to November 26, a spokesperson told Forbes.
BIG NUMBER
At least $200 million. That’s how much Spotify’s deal with Rogan is worth, according to the New York Times. The deal gives the streaming service exclusive rights to the show until 2023.
KEY FACTS
The Joe Rogan Experience was also the No. 1 podcast on Spotify in 2021 and 2020, when the show began being exclusively distributed by the streaming service.
Spotify tracked data from January 1 to November 26, a spokesperson told Forbes.
KEY BACKGROUND
Rogan drew criticism early in the year for featuring Dr. Robert Malone and Dr. Peter McCullough on his show, who used the platform to spread misinformation and unsubstantiated claims about Covid-19 and vaccines. Several artists, including Neil Young and Joni Mitchell, removed their music from Spotify in protest. Meghan Markle, who has a Spotify-exclusive podcast, expressed concern to the company. As ire grew at Rogan for helping to spread the disputed Covid-19 claims, clips of him using racial slurs re-surfaced. Spotify CEO Daniel Ek said stopping Rogan’s show was not the answer, but Rogan chose to remove over 100 episodes of the show from the streaming service. A content warning was added to episodes of his show that discussed Covid-19. In an apology video, Rogan said he would seek out more balanced viewpoints in the future. Though Spotify does not release podcast streaming numbers, it’s estimated Rogan reaches 11 million people per episode. In July, Rogan said he had declined repeated requests for former President Trump to appear on The Joe Rogan Experience. DespiteDespite the earlier controversy, Rogan did not shy away from dipping his toes into other conspiracy theories, including a right-wing talking point that schools were providing litter boxes for students who identified as cats, though he later walked back the claim.

TANGENT
Other top podcasts globally on Spotify this year included Call Her Daddy, Anything Goes With Emma Chamberlain, Caso 63 (All Languages) and Crime Junkie, respectively. Markle’s podcast Archetypes, which premiered in August, did not crack the top five, though it had sometimes topped Rogan in Spotify’s daily podcast charts"

@Observant One,

I certainly wouldn't say the Wales's trip has been "ruined." As an American I never expected there to be a frenzy of constant TV reports about their visit. I had read (I don't know if it was on this blog especially) that some W&K fans thought they'd take the US by storm. Hardly. Some will find their visit incredible, others won't notice it at all. (Hard to believe but some people don't even know who W&K are.)

And many people have other things on their minds. If nothing else we just had Thanksgiving and Christmas is coming up soon. Inflation is a big deal. And it may be that the shutdowns caused by COVID have caused us to find "tours" not very appealing. (Not that this 3-day visit is really a tour.) Some coverage of the visit will be over the top fawning, some coverage will ignore the event. Sounds typical to me! The US is a big diverse country after all.

It would have been impossible to somehow connect Earthshot with JFK's Moonshot and not involve Caroline Kennedy. She's JFK's only living child. She's currently the US Ambassador to Australia. Because if that, she did arrive late due to travel issues. That hardly ruined everything. The racism claims are very unfortunate but I hardly think that's affected US coverage. It's the same as it would have been IMO.

I'm not a big admirer of any of the Kennedys myself including Caroline (& certainly am not a fan of the RFK branch the Sussexes have associated with.) One could argue that Will deciding to make a celebrated Moonshot-Earthshot connection was a mistake. It was a political decision and may have been a bad one. But not because Caroline was late. And not because John Kerry still has COVID.

I am glad to be mistaken about the widespread media coverage of the Wales’ trip. I am not a Twitter or FB user, so I have probably missed some of the newsfeeds on those platforms. After the incident at the Queen Camilla’s event and the NF trailer, those two incidents dominated the US news outlets that I follow, along with the WH state dinner for Macron and the brutal murders in Idaho. I have seen brief reports on The Wales’ outings and negative crowd reception at the basketball game and the minister who mentioned Colonialism and racism in her remarks. Those stories were widespread.

However, it looks like more positive info is certainly coming out today. Hopefully their big event will be reported on fairly, without the taint that permeated the reports over the last 2 days.

IIRC, William selected Boston as his US presentation, to tie into JFK’s Moonshot project. That’s why I mentioned Caroline Kennedy as a partner. She was invited to attend, and I assumed she would be called upon to make some remarks.

Fifi LaRue said…
@Magatha: LOL!!

Caroline Kennedy showed up at the basketball game. Celebrity gossip somewhere said that John Kerry wouldn't fly in unless he can fly first-class, so no seat, no show. William and Kate's visit is going to over over spectacularly.

IMO the NF docufakery about them, and Dookie's book is going to sink them. They are already not welcome in celebrity circles, the film and book will make them radioactive.

Their titles will be pulled. They are a disgrace to themselves.

People in power in Hollywood, and other high-powered places do not like family bashing, whining, complaining, etc. Power people close ranks, and those circles will never be opened again to M & H.

@Observant One,

I definitely agree there's competition in news stories for the Wales's trip to Boston. The ones you mentioned are big-- particularly the state dinner for Macron. It's the first state dinner the Biden administration has held. And the inexplicable Idaho murders have been grabbing attention since they happened.

But regardless of what H&M did or didn't do, and regardless of exactly what else was happening in the US, W&K's visit was never going to dominate the national news. It just wasn't. It's not that important to the US population as a whole. I'm not saying it's not a good & worthy cause. It certainly sounds like it is. But with costs up for just about everything for the average person-- and in some cases up by alot-- a prince handing out millions in prizes for environmental action "green" proposals just isn't a top priority for lots of people. Still, when the awards are actually given I'm sure there will be interest in many quarters. And I'm sure Caroline will speak at the ceremony. But I don't think it was ever realistic to expect lots of news coverage of W&K walking around in Boston or coverage for attending a pro basketball game. And the Kennedy name and the tie to JFK nearly 60 years after his death can do only so much. The US is pretty split politically and that has an effect too.
I suppose we have to be thankful that at least the Queen dodged the bullet...

Thee whole thing sickens me. I see from (?)St Meghan Markle that someone says they've looked into that charity and found that she's the only paid `employee' at £65k pa plus very generous expenses. The authorities need to go through their paperwork with a fine-tooth comb...

Thank you for your thoughtful comment. I live in US, Central time zone. I regularly check news on all of our major web-based media (Fox News, CNN and Yahoo) along with the US Home on the Daily Mail app. The Netflix trailer received widespread coverage, along with the story of Lady Hussey (not Hussain, as my auto correct indicated in earlier post). I felt that both stories overshadowed the Wales’ visit, but didn’t stop to think that it might not have been covered much at all. You are probably right about that.

I honestly do not believe that H&M ordered the trailer release for yesterday. NF does know something about publicity - and they got it in spades. The Lady Hussey incident was just bad timing. Sad, but it happens. NF wants their pound of flesh from the Harkles - and they want ratings, and they do not care about the family relations. Am I defending the Harkles? oh heck no. They are guilty as sin as they have been preping for the documentary for ages.
As someone stated earlier - they know the titles et al are gone. This is rebranding.

There was an article in the DM published this morning and that I must have missed. Tom Bower, in his book Revenge, said Lady Susan Hussey had tried to help TBW when she first lived with H.
Lady Susan was said to have visited the duchess at Nottingham Cottage, the home Meghan first shared with Harry in the grounds of Kensington Palace, to offer help and advice, the book claims.

In response, the American–born actress was said to be ‘insistent’ that she would not allow Buckingham Palace to shape her, dictate her thoughts or activities.

Nothing out of character for * but I'm sure Lady Susan must have been flabbergasted. Catherine had access to the Queen's private office and ladies-in-waiting and availed herself of their help. We can see the difference.

Richard Eden in DM has suggested that deafness may have contributed to Lady Susan's repeated questioning.

A crowded reception, with people raising their voices in hope of being heard above the background din is one of the most difficult situations to cope with if one's hearing is not what it was.

I'm younger than Lady Susan but have just had to get aides for mild to moderate hearing loss & have made an appointment for husband to start the process, having been repeating myself 4 times at least, with increasing volume and exaggerated diction, before he responds. Sussexes ‘took photographer into Buckingham Palace without late Queen’s permission’

Aides complain after picture in new Netflix trailer appears to show couple walking out of palace’s garden entrance

Hannah Furness in The Telegraph

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been accused of taking a private photographer into Buckingham Palace without permission during their farewell tour in Britain, after a behind-the-scenes image was broadcast to millions in their new Netflix trailer.

The one-minute-long advert for the Duke and Duchess’s new documentary shows a series of black-and-white photographs, taken at their Frogmore Cottage, their wedding evening reception, and on holidays.

One picture appears to have been taken inside Buckingham Palace, showing them walking out of the garden entrance.

By convention, anyone wishing to film or shoot in the Queen’s home requires permission, with “strict protocol” surrounding imagery in what is considered private quarters.

The Telegraph understands that the presence of the photograph was the subject of a written palace complaint at the time, as aides noted that the couple had not asked permission to shoot inside the Queen’s home.

The Sussexes are not thought to have been made personally aware of the warning.

Usually a memo would be sent to the Queen’

“It’s fair to say there was surprise to see there was a photographer,” said one source, adding: “In usual circumstances, you need permission to take pictures in that area.”

A second said: “There is very strict protocol about bringing a film crew or photographer. Usually a memo would be sent to the Queen to get approval.”

The photographer was not asked to leave, The Telegraph has confirmed.

One insider said the appearance of a private photographer had been noticed by household staff at the time, as the Sussexes came and went from the palace.

They had travelled to Britain in March 2020 for what became known as their “farewell tour”, including a string of public engagements from a secondary school to the Commonwealth Day Service.

While here, they were followed by photographer Chris Allerton, whose work shooting the Duchess during a private visit to the National Theatre and at an emotional farewell to staff at Buckingham Palace was released and published soon afterwards.

At least one picture taken in the same week but never-before-seen, not yet credited to a named photographer, has now been broadcast as part of the Netflix trailer.

In it, Prince Harry and Meghan walk hand-in-hand towards an exit of Buckingham Palace, where two footmen hold the doors open for them.

The Duchess is wearing a winter coat and distinctive heels, carrying a small handbag that appears identical to an outfit she wore to a Goring Hotel farewell lunch for staff that week.

One source described the presence of an unauthorised photographer as a “genuine violation” of the Queen’s household, saying he was spotted by so many that news “wouldn’t have taken long for it to go round the building”.

There could be more images to come

They predicted that there could be more images to come in the documentary or printed elsewhere, with the Sussexes also holding events in the the Belgian Suite and 1844 Room, and the offices of staff.

Neither Buckingham Palace or Archewell responded to a request for comment on Friday night.

The picture was one of at least a dozen behind-the-scenes shots to be aired in the Netflix trailer.

Others include images of Prince Harry and Meghan kissing in their Frogmore Cottage kitchen during the same week, and what appeared to be the Duchess crying during a phone call with her head in her hand.

“It is certainly stretching the definition of privacy,” said one critic after the trailer was released.

“For a couple who have been privacy-obsessed, in 60 seconds they have shown raw emotion, private places, photos never before seen.

“They’ve blown their own protestations out of the water and detonated their own privacy policy.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s lawyer has previously insisted that their challenge of “unlawful violations of privacy” is different from sharing their lives on their own terms.

“[It] doesn’t mean, just because you assert your human rights, that you then become some kind of Trappist monk and take a vow of silence, you’re not allowed to discuss anything,” Jenny Afia said in 2021.

“That’s not how privacy works. Privacy is about the right to own and control what personal information you choose to share with somebody.”

The Mirror is reporting that PPoW and King Charles will respond to H&M docu-series

EXCLUSIVE: Prince William and King's crisis talks over Harry and Meghan's bombshell Netflix show

Part Of text

"Royal sources said the “churlish” decision was done to deliberately torpedo William and Kate’s US trip, which concluded last night with them hosting the Prince’s Earthshot Prize environmental awards.

Set to dramatic mood music, Prince Harry appears in the teaser saying: “No one sees what’s happening behind closed doors.(...) A senior royal source said: “There is a completely united front from the King and his family concerning the numerous attempts to privately make peace with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, which sadly have once again resulted in the other side wishing to air their repeated grievances to the world.

“If there is a need to respond to anything in the upcoming series then you can be assured that response will be swift and robust.”

Palace insiders have nicknamed Harry and Meghan “the Kardashians” because “they want all the attention they can possibly get."

Lady Hussy's hearing is not great.
I actually thought the staged photos of them heading for the door at supposedly BP and/or their kitchen at Frogmore Cottage, (with Maggot sitting on the kitchen island) were just set up fakes for the documess, and not the actual places. 😟
BTW: `I'm spending Christmas with my people';

`Her people farm up in Suffolk somewhere'

It's a traditional `U' (ie Upper Class) usage meaning simply `family'. Nothing racist about it at all, although possibly old-fashioned by now.

Of course, the less they are in contact with the RF, the fewer their opportunities to find something new to bitch about. Hence the need to manufacture incidents.

Remember folks, our monarchs reign only by consent of the People, something which H & * haven't grasped. Even if Harry arrived at the head of the queue by dint of a terrible tragedy, they have no more chance getting their bums on the best seats in the country than I and my other half have. There'd be such an outcry they'd be passed over.

Perhaps if that sank in we'd be left in peace - some hope!

ooh so it was a sweet burn for Princess of Wales to wear the emerald choker. hmm did harry get anything from his mom well other than the drama. more wigs flying in montecito

so could the palace force and injunction on netflix over no permission to film people (footman at the palace) or interiors at royal palaces/houses. i wonder if that could have been what pulled the documentary release to edit and take out. oooh. ow that would be good. and costly to the netflix/suck it group.

I have just been seething over the gross unfairness of the entire Markle situation. Due to social media and the heightened pace of our current news, they have in many ways reaped rewards from the frenzy.

Here is how I think the BRF should respond...

1) TW is irrelevant. Her escapades should continue to be ignored.
2) JH is the son of a King and SHOULD be a loyal subject. His upcoming book likely will be full of falseness and accusations, which should completely sever him from his family's trust. (I am sure it has already happened -- but the book will make it "official")
3) BRF should not respond until after the Coronation of KCIII. Would just be a bad look.
4) Invitees to the Coronation should fall under one of the following categories. They should be either Working Royals, State Guests (aka Diplomats), and Faithful Supporters of the Monarchy. Obviously, the Harkles will be neither (along with Andrew who should be cut).
5) Following the Coronation, KCIII will likely bestow many promotions (along with whatever titles he will give to elevate Edward and Sophie). He should also include demotions -- namely for our favorite couple.

This measured approach will win the war. Finally we hope ;)

Somewhere someone mentioned claims that he had been abandoned by his father - financially and (I guess) emotionally because (to my knowledge) KC did do things with both kids between terms. (as an aside, I thought he also did things before as well which would make it that he was not suddenly stepping up whereas before he lagged - but I could and have been wrong before in life)

Anyway, all I could think of is an article (this must be close to 30 years ago) about the problems with parents continuing to fund their adult children. A quote was even saying something about how that's it, he's cutting her off ... at like age mid/late 40's or 50's. She was married, kids, the whole bit but yet still getting a not small allowance from her father as if she was still in her single digits age.

Given the financial turmoil world wide right now, I'm not convinced of claims of fiscal abandonment at his age will generate lots of sympathy for either of them.

Notice the article (DM) about how people are not wanting to be friends with either. That's kinda new and kinda specific. Unnamed but still. Not trending as other stories but ... but it is out there (and my best guess is that people who know people know who this is quoting). Nice. Very proper. Very gentlemenly.

Hoping the right people realize this is just the soup course because salads are serving hand guns and entrees, automatics to the other side.

Who ever said: this is war ... nailed it. They are not interested in negotiation. Only full submission.

I'm sad for KC. This is his kid.

No one says it is easy to separate your personal feelings from your official ones as king/good of the country.

How difficult to be king.

This is when I wish QE was still around to offer some really sharp words like a rapier.

IIRC, Diana said Charles was a good father. That should count for something because she didn’t dish out praise to her husband very often. His hands on parenting was limited by the demands of his role, the traditions of his class and the fact that his boys were absent at school for 3/4 of the year, but I think he did his best when he did have them to be an involved Dad. Harry has seemingly forgot all of the good times with his family. No matter how much attention either parent lavished on him, they could not change the central grievance of his life: he will always come second to William who will wear the Crown and he will not. There are other things profoundly wrong with Harry but that is the crux of his awfulness.

After the events of the last few days, all I can say in response is for the first time since Harry’s birth, I wish fervently that he was in fact James Hewitt’s son. If King Charles could publish those DNA results and denounce the ginger traitor as a cuckoo child, the b@st@rd indiscretion of his late sainted wife, how much easier his task of excising the rotten apples would be. Supporters and business partners of the toxic duo would desert them faster than fleas off a carcass. I never thought I would say this, but what a shame Harry is a Mountbatten. He’s a disgrace to the outfit.

The King might be able to rescue Harry some day, but I don’t think he can be saved. As someone mentioned earlier, he could be sent to Africa, under the guise of working in Conservation, but I don’t think he ever had much to offer or cared to offer anything to anyone.

I am also sad for KC III. On one hand, he has a great deal of the “stuff” that most humans value and dream of, but he has lost a son through the actions of a greedy succubus. The entire family must be sick of dealing with the carnage that Harry leaves in his wake. I would love to hear what Princess Anne has to say about the Spare and his mare!

I was asked that very question across a crowded restaurant not long ago by the wealthiest head of society in my county. I thought she was asking about my husband and in-laws and explained who I was married to, and who my in-laws were, for my people were not from around here. "No, no, I've known them for years! Who are YOUR people?" So, I told her my maiden name, but explained that I was NOT related to the wealthy landowners of the same name in our county but was instead related to the less refined but proud independent mountain people in Tennessee, and my late Mama and Stepdaddy were buried in Georgia. Her curiosity satisfied, she said that they would claim me.

@Petunia: And not only appropriated African dress, but a sort of aggressive mishmash (If I recall the pictures) of no known nation but just sort of designed to provoke.

And whoever (several people) last night (it was night for me) was mentioning that Lady Susan is probably hard of hearing -- I'm somewhat younger and can hear okay, but I need people to speak more slowly. Especially in a crowd or on the phone. I bet she spoke too fast as well. And was directed to do so when she got her instructions to create trouble.

And @Observant: I know Africa is always mentioned as the remedy for this loser, but the idea of setting this animal abuser among the animals of Africa just seems counterintuitive to me. He's just as likely to shoot them as to save them, and I hope there are no polo ponies available. "Conservation" seems like another one of those causes invented to make it seem like he has a heart, like Invictus.
In the past, like any time up to and including 1685 (Battle of Sedgemoor & the Bloody Assize) monarchs had to be ruthless if they wanted to keep their thrones, executing blood relatives if necessary.

It could be very unhealthy to be a member of a royal family - the closer one was to the throne, the more dangerous it was. Nutties may recall `I, Claudius' for the assassinations that went on within Augustus' family in Imperial Rome.

In Ottoman Constantinople, the record must surely go to Mehmet III who became Sultan in 1595; he had his 19 brothers (and presumably) half-brothers done in within days of his succession.

In 10thC England, Edward the Martyr (aged 16) was murdered apparently at the instigation of his step-mother in favour of his 11 yr-old half-brother Ethelred, later dubbed `Unready' meaning `ill-advised'.

The latest example I can think of, off the top of my head, was in 1685, when James II was challenged by his illegitimate nephew the Duke of Monmouth, the latter meeting his end on Tower Hill.

I'm not for a moment suggesting that Charles should have anyone assassinated but I wish he had a sufficient streak of ruthlessness for his actions not to be compromised by paternal affection. It seems to me that the only way he can escape racism accusations would be to ignore * and use the law to neutralise H. Unfortunately, I fear that his love for H would not permit this, although I can think of several legal paths CR III might explore. I don't, however, want to alert the Harkles.

If only it could be demonstrated that H isn't the King's son!

Conspiracy Theories (author, myself)
I always thought that the Queen, in her absolute faith, believed that Harry could be a lamb to be rescued.
I also believe that age weakens us, our sensitivity and our maturity lead us to see things in a less demanding way and we start to seek peace and longer moments of inner softness. Health problems with Prince Philip and hers too, made her leave the conflicts of her rebellious, troubled grandson and bad blood to take action for her father, KCIII. Here it is, in my theory, I don't think KCIII is weak and I feel he would like to have H&M imprisoned in the Tower of London until a trial akin to Henry VIII is completed.
What would KCIII fear? 1) cancel culture 2) and the meteoric rise of the BLM movement that MM tried to connect to when talking about RF racism

For me, this was more evident with the speed with which BP reacted to the case of Lady Hussey (I thought it was unnecessary) but showed caution and concern with the presence of the Welsh in American territory, root of the BLM movement.
However, the famous Caribbean woman did not have wide media support. Actor, comedian, black Chris Rock (and others) made a satire about her. And with that, his allegations of racism became bizarre even to some black people. Bad point for her. Someone here mentioned that the target was Queen Camilla (sorry! I forgot who was) but I totally agree with that.
We should also remember that H&M are going to receive a (fraudulent) award for fighting structural racism in the RF. And days before someone exposes the structural racism in the RF. This exhibition was to seek support for H&M upon receiving the KK award and many in the media and ordinary people should say: MM were right!
Why, I think so? Because right after the Caribbean denounced, the sugars released the hashtag: Meghan was right! - seeking to put this as a trend on twitter.
...
1- Racism thread to support the H&M award and legitimize the structural racism narrative.
2) NF Video - Overshadowing Welsh Presence in Boston. Wishing the media would focus more on the Harkles and less on the Welsh.
It is worth remembering that we now have three women standing out in the British Monarchy and in the media.
a) Camilla, Queen consort.
b) Catherine, Princess of Wales
AND
c) Meghan, Duchess.
On the basis of titles, it is below the first two. And we know she cries out to be called Princess. Only possibility, lose the title of Duchess and assume the title of Meghan, the Princess! (reference to the only title that Harry, if stripped of the title of Duke, would be called; Prince Harry)

...
Magatha... I love you! One day, I'll post here, the literary parodies with the name of MM.

Most shocking to me ... he was harassing the Queen, who was dying of a painful cancer, with phone calls (and the occasional visit) asking for money. Supposedly she would say 'you will have to speak to your father', but Charles was not taking calls from his son. It must infuriate the duo that his father and brother are so wealthy and they have no access to any of that wealth. People wrongly believe that he will inherit ... nope, he inherited nothing from his grandmother and will inherit nothing from his father. It all goes to the next monarch and the monarch does assist family if it wishes to do so (the Queen paid rent for her cousins). I don't see Charles or William giving a cent to TBW.

Apropos of this, I have to say that I follow a discussion list for a certain profession's women, and they are so cagey about where they live and work and are so fearful of being "outed." They would never say something like the above where someone could investigate and figure out where they live, and they painstakingly disguise actual details, with made-up jobs like "think teacup marketing" and locations like "East Coast suburbs." I really appreciate everyone's frankness here and willingness to reveal petty biographical information that adds color and lets us get to know one another.

Anyway, I didn't reserve a copy of the book as I'm pretty sure that all the disgusting details will be revealed here or elsewhere and that'll be sufficient. I can do without the word salad.

Apologies for posting so many articles today. Just say the word (anyone 🙂) and I will delete. But there are some really worthwhile commentaries in the Times and the Telegraph. Here’s another:

DEVASTATED
How the late Queen really felt about Harry and Meghan’s betrayal in her last days
Camilla Tominey

It has been written with what the publisher promises will be “raw, unflinching honesty”: a firsthand account of Prince Harry’s life that he insists is “accurate and wholly truthful.”

As the Royal family braces itself for Spare, arguably the most eagerly awaited autobiography in royal history, the mood behind palace walls is growing increasingly weary. It can’t have been helped when on Thursday the trailer for Harry and Meghan’s imminent Netflix documentary dropped, asking the loaded question, ‘When the stakes are this high, why wouldn’t you want to hear our story from us?’

Having suffered the ignominy of Harry and Meghan’s bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview, in which the couple accused an unnamed royal of racism and claimed to have been abandoned by the House of Windsor, aides are now preparing for another series of salvos, once again dressed up as the Sussexes’ “truth”.

Being privy neither to an advance copy of Harry’s memoirs nor a preview of what is at least a six-part fly-on-the-wall series, everyone has naturally been left anxiously trying to predict the contents.

Will the couple cast a shadow over next May’s Coronation by singling out King Charles for further criticism, having accused him of cutting them off financially and refusing to take their calls? Or are rumours to be believed that the Prince and Princess of Wales are set for another flogging, after Harry suggested William feels “trapped” in the monarchy and Meghan claimed Kate made her cry during a bridesmaids’ dress fitting?

All will soon be revealed, with Spare set to hit bookshelves across the world on January 10, but as one royal source explained: “The pervading feeling is one of exasperation. What on earth can they have left to say? Enough is surely enough.”

While outwardly projecting a shoulder-shrugging acceptance of events that are now well beyond their control, scratch the surface and anger still permeates across “The Firm”.

The Daily Telegraph has spoken to a number of well-placed sources to piece together a picture of what really happened in the final weeks and months of Queen Elizabeth II’s life in relation to the couple she generously described as “much loved members of the family”. Regardless of how Spare – or Netflix – may interpret those events, the other side of the story does not make for comfortable reading.

It already riled Her late Majesty’s nearest and dearest that the couple chose to appear on Oprah on March 7, 2021 while the Duke of Edinburgh was in hospital, just three months shy of his 100th birthday.

It wasn’t just that Prince Philip had been in hospital for three weeks by then. We now know that his beloved wife, then 96, was also suffering from her own significant health problems.

According to Gyles Brandreth’s newly published biography, Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait, the late monarch had been diagnosed with a form of myeloma, or bone marrow cancer, which caused the tiredness, weight loss and mobility issues that forced her to pull out of a number of key engagements including last year’s Remembrance Day service at the Cenotaph.

As one insider explained: “The late Queen not only knew the Duke’s health was failing but also her own. It became clear that she was on borrowed time as she began to tie up loose ends. That’s what made the Sussexes’ behaviour doubly difficult to deal with. The timing could not have been more insensitive.”

Regardless of her own personal turmoil, in typically stoic style, Queen Elizabeth still found the strength to release a brief 64-word response to the claims made on Oprah, including the now legendary phrase: “Some recollections may vary”, inserted on the advice of advisors including Christian Jones, the then-Duke and Duchess of Cambridges’ former private secretary. The late Queen’s private secretary Sir Edward Young and the King’s private secretary Sir Clive Alderton were also central to the discussions as aides rallied around to protect their “principals” from the fallout.

While she insisted on publicly reiterating that “Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members,” in private, the great-grandmother was, according to those who knew her best, “devastated”, “bewildered” and “disappointed”,

While Brandreth insists that she was sanguine about Oprah, dismissing it as “television nonsense” (compared to Prince Philip’s interpretation of the 90-minute showdown as “madness”) other insiders say she became increasingly incredulous at the damage Harry and Meghan appeared willing to inflict on their own family.

She repeatedly questioned why they were persisting in attacking the very institution “that had given them so much”. She also echoed her staff’s disbelief at Harry and Meghan’s tale of abandonment when the perception from the top down was that “everyone had bent over backwards for the couple”.

Although generally supportive of the union (despite describing Harry as “perhaps a little too in love with Meghan”, according to Brandreth), Tom Bower’s claim in his book, Revenge: Mehan, Harry and the war between the Windsors, that the late Queen did not want the former American actress at the Duke’s funeral in April 2021, a month after Oprah had its primetime airing, rings true. Tellingly, Buckingham Palace did not deny Bower’s claim that she told an aide before the ceremony at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle: “Thank goodness Meghan isn’t coming”.

As Bower told the Daily Telegraph this week: “You only have to look at the Sandringham agreement to see what the late Queen’s thinking was. She approved their total expulsion from royal life. She wouldn’t have done that if she had a wholly benign attitude towards them.”

Far from giving the Sussexes the cake-and-eat it scenario they craved – “work(ing) to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen,” – the couple was ordered to no longer undertake any royal engagements and denied the use of their Royal Highness titles. Harry was also stripped of his military appointments and told he could no longer officially represent the Royal family at military ceremonies.

The late monarch further decreed that the couple were no longer to use their Sussex Royal branding, and the pair were also ordered to repay the £2.4 million renovation costs of Frogmore Cottage, their Windsor home. Their sequestration from the Royal family was as swift as it was unequivocal (the late Queen would later show similarly speedy decisiveness in removing her son the Duke of York from public life, a month before he reached an out of court settlement with Virginia Giuffre in February).

Coronavirus put paid to any visits home by Harry in 2020 although he delighted in telling James Corden in February 2021 that his grandmother had sent Archie a waffle maker for Christmas. The sharing of such personal information raised eyebrows at the palace, not least as the interview with the Late Late Show host threatened to overshadow the late Queen’s Covid-19 vaccine push earlier that day. In singling out the sovereign for praise while failing to reference other members of the family, including his father and his brother, Harry also set in train what courtiers would go on to decry as “divide and rule” tactics.
Rebecca said…
Then came the revelation, in July 2021, that Harry was planning to publish a “literary memoir with Penguin Random House”, sharing “for the very first time, the definitive account of the experiences, adventures, losses, and life lessons that have helped shape him.”

The announcement, which came little over a fortnight after Harry and William had been reunited for the unveiling of a statue of Diana, Princess of Wales, appalled the late Queen as much as anyone else. She struggled to forgive her former governess, Marion Crawford, from publishing The Little Princess, a book about her time looking after Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret – but this wasn’t staff, it was one of her own.

“News of the book changed everything,” said one source. “It set back any hope of a reconciliation because there is a limit to what you can discuss with someone you suspect is taking notes of every conversation.”

When, in April 2022, Meghan finally returned to the UK for the first time since their move to Montecito – and the birth of their daughter Lilibet Diana in June 2021 – she and Harry made a beeline for Windsor Castle en route to the Invictus Games in the Netherlands.

But according to Bower, they did not stay long – an indication, seemingly, of the Queen’s inner sense of unease about their conduct. Having agreed that the couple would meet Charles and Camilla beforehand, Harry and Meghan barely had time for a cup of tea before resuming their journey to The Hague for the competition for wounded ex-service personnel. “It was a very brief encounter,” says Bower. (William and Kate were away skiing with their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis).

Little wonder, then, that Harry’s subsequent interview with the US network NBC, in which he claimed that he had popped in on his grandmother to make sure she was “protected” caused so much offence.

Speaking at the Games with the Today Show’s Hoda Kotb, Harry gushed: “It was so nice to see her. She’s on great form. She’s always got a great sense of humour with me. And I’m just making sure that she’s, you know, protected and she’s got the right people around her.” Again, he swerved any mention of Charles and William. When Kotb asked whether he made his grandmother laugh, he replied, “Yes, I did,” adding: “We have a really special relationship. We talk about things that she can’t talk about with anybody else.”

It was not just the barely disguised swipe at aides who sacrificed contact with their own families for months to form “HMS Bubble” around the late monarch and her beloved husband that rankled.

It was the irony of Harry failing to realise that the only people Queen Elizabeth felt she needed protecting from at that stage were the Sussexes themselves. “While the couple always tried to separate the monarch from the institution, the late Queen never saw it that way,” said a former aide. Having criticised courtiers for blocking meetings with both his father and his grandfather during the Oprah interview, Harry seemed to be suggesting that royal relations were being hampered by interfering employees. But as the ex advisor pointed out they “are always acting on instructions. It’s their job to reflect the interests of their principals and work on their behalf. It’s the easiest thing in the world to blame the staff but they were only doing what they are paid to do.”

By the time Harry and Meghan returned for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations two months later, the late Queen had her guard up.

When the couple made another beeline for Windsor Castle, travelling straight there after landing at Farnborough Airport, she refused their request to have professional photographs taken with Archie, three, and her namesake Lilibet, one.

Claiming she had a bloodshot eye, she adroitly denied the Sussexes the photo opportunity they craved.
Rebecca said…
Harry was “persistent”, according to those party to the meeting, expressing a desire to get an official snap of the two Lilibets together at some point in the future. But of course it was never to be. She died three months later.

The Sussexes may again claim they were marginalised during the four-day jubilee celebrations, because there was “no interaction” with William and Kate or their children. But as a source close to the Waleses was at pains to point out: “They were incredibly busy that weekend, managing the logistics around their children’s involvement. But they also felt they needed to be steely because a line had been crossed. There had still been no acknowledgement of the pain the Sussexes have caused, let alone an apology.”

Regardless of the hurt they caused, multiple insiders insist that “an arm was thrown around” Harry and Meghan to include them in as much as possible as non-working royals – only for them to reject the peace offering. They were in such a rush to leave the Trooping the Colour ceremony on the Thursday that they missed the magnificent flypast altogether.

The swift exit meant they missed a family lunch with royal cousins including Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips after watching the parade of pomp and pageantry together from the Major General’s Office overlooking Horse Guards.

The Sussexes’ self imposed isolation meant there was “a bit of reluctance” among the royals to attend Lilibet’s first birthday party on the Saturday. Only the Tindalls’ and Mr Phillips’s children went, while their parents spent the afternoon at the Epsom Derby. William and Kate took Prince George and Princess Charlotte on their first official engagement to Wales that day, carrying out a series of duties in Cardiff.

The Sussexes were offered the opportunity to attend both the Party At The Palace on the Saturday night and Sunday afternoon’s Platinum Pageant but declined both – leaving the UK before the colourful carnival swept down The Mall. “God, how we tried,” sighed one aide.

Queen Elizabeth’s funeral did not prove any easier, despite a joint Windsor walkabout being arranged with the Cambridges and the Sussexes and Harry being allowed to wear his military uniform for the grandchildren’s vigil at the lying-in-state at Westminster Hall.

But the confusion that still reigns over exactly when Harry found out about his grandmother’s death highlights the breakdown in communications.

The palace claims he was informed during a mid air call from his father five minutes before the official announcement went out at 6.30pm on September 8. Sources close to the Sussexes suggest he wasn’t told and read it on a breaking news alert.

Having reportedly been told by his father it wouldn’t be appropriate for Meghan to accompany him to the Scottish Highlands, Harry was perhaps unsurprisingly the last to arrive and the first to leave the following morning.

Naturally there are fears that it won’t only be the royals who come under attack in the coming weeks, but the palace’s so-called men in grey suits, and “still traumatised” former employees. Although none of the former aides referenced in the bullying complaint lodged by the couple’s former private secretary Jason Knauf in October 2019 have gone public, they may be minded to publicly defend themselves should Harry and Meghan cast aspersions on their professionalism. “Duchess Difficult”, as she was nicknamed by disgruntled staff, has already hinted in her Archetypes podcast that royal aides couldn’t meet her exacting standards. “I think a high tide raises all ships, right? We’re all going to succeed, so let’s make sure it’s really great. ‘Cause it’s a shared success story for everybody … you’re allowed to set a boundary. You’re allowed to be clear, it does not make you demanding, it does not make you difficult, [it] makes you clear!”
Rebecca said…
Although the palace does not plan to provide a “running commentary” in response to whatever the couple claim, the press office is likely to point out any factual inaccuracies. There are already rumours of inconsistencies between what Harry and Meghan have told Netflix and the contents of the autobiography, ghostwritten by Pulitzer Prize winning author J R Moehringer, who was conspicuous by his absence from the most recent PR round for the book.

Sources close to the Sussexes have suggested they have little control over the timing or promotion of the Netflix series and the autobiography and yet the couple are thought to be in advanced talks with their friend, CBS host Gayle King, to do a US broadcast interview, while another pal, ITV’s Tom Bradby is being touted as a possible inquisitor on the UK side. Having split from their PR firm Sunshine Sachs in September, Harry and Meghan’s spin machine is now based internally at Archewell, meaning they are now pulling all the levers on their own. Catchlined: “Shared Purpose: Global Action”, the foundation conveys the impression of a determined couple on a mission. It therefore seems unlikely that royal feelings are going to be ‘Spared’.

At the request of the late Queen, she [Lady Susan Hussey] remained in the room when Harry and Meghan presented their daughter Lilibet for the first time in June.

I wonder what Lady Susan could say... Not that she would, she's too well bred but it would appear she's seen Lilibet - or a child purporting to be her. Interesting.
So we all interpreted the invictus Games photo correctly from the start - *, Doria & Markus had got H cornered.

A powerful excerpt from an opinion piece in The Sun by Tom Bower:

“ For months I have urged the Palace to combat and squash the Montecito Malevolents.

In a well-crafted TV address, the King should confront head-on Meghan’s outrageous claims.

He should describe how warmly she was welcomed into the Royal Family and how she spurned their generosity.

And he should conclude that the Netflix series has crossed a line of decency.

Since the Sussexes can only flourish with their royal titles, it is time for Charles to strip them of the privilege. He should also declare that neither is welcome to return to Britain. Outcast in California, Harry will one day regret his treachery.

Time is short. In early January, Harry’s autobiography will be published. Undoubtedly, he has loaded his book with denunciations of his family.

To defuse a true crisis and save the monarchy from further damage, Charles should exorcise the Sussexes from the Royal Family before the book’s publication, reducing the importance of their contents to a mere footnote in history.”

Netflix advisers attack ‘distracting’ Harry and Meghan trailer. 1/2
Netflix has been accused by its climate advisers of distracting from the Prince of Wales’s environment prize ceremony by releasing the trailer for its Harry & Meghan documentary series.
The climate experts have complained to the streaming service about the release of the trailer on the eve of Prince William’s Earthshot Prize awards on Friday night.
The prize, which awarded £1 million each to projects that will help to repair the planet, is considered a highlight of William’s official calendar. It has been dubbed his “World Cup” moment by Hannah Jones, the Earthshot Prize chief executive.
The release of the trailer while the Prince and Princess of Wales were in Boston for the awards ceremony was widely seen as a provocation, although the decision on the timing is understood to have been made by Netflix, rather than the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Prince Harry appeared yesterday dressed up as Spider-Man in a video message to bereaved military children.
In the clip for the charity Scotty’s Little Soldiers, he said: “Christmas is a time when we miss our loved ones really, really badly and that’s OK. But at the same time, it can be possible to feel guilty for having fun without our parents. But I am here to assure you that our parents always want us to have fun, OK? So don’t feel guilty.
“You are allowed to have the best time ever, especially with this Scotty’s Little Soldiers.
Members of the Netflix scientific advisory group complained to the company about the trailer for the documentary. Christiana Figueres, a former UN climate chief who chairs the Earthshot board and sits on the Netflix advisory group, said she was disappointed. Tom Rivett-Carnac, a former UN political strategist who sits on the Netflix advisory group and advises the Earthshot team, complained to the leadership of the streaming service.
Figueres, who was the architect of the 2015 Paris climate agreement, said: “Netflix has been a leader on producing valuable content to educate on environmental issues. It is therefore disappointing that they air negative messages on the very same day as the Earthshot Prize.”
Rivett-Carnac said: “The remarkable finalists and winners of the Earthshot Prize are changing the world. They deserve all attention and recognition so the timing of this release from Netflix, a sustainability content leader, is profoundly disappointing.”

According to the Netflix website, it formed its independent scientific advisory group to “volunteer their time to counsel and provoke us”.
Celebrities who attended the Earthshot ceremony included David Beckham, the former England football captain, and Rami Malek, who played Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody. Artists taking part included Billie Eilish, Annie Lennox and Ellie Goulding.
Netflix has made a virtue of its commitment to reducing carbon emissions. It released a series of nature stories with the British government before the Cop26 climate talks in Glasgow last year. Netflix has also launched nature documentaries, presented by Sir David Attenborough and Barack Obama, to great fanfare.
Members of the independent advisory group, also include Pippa Ehrlich, who won an Oscar for directing the Netflix documentary My Octopus Teacher.
Netflix declined to comment.

...

found it odd that NF refused to confirm the H&M docu-series. And suddenly, to drop the trailer in the middle of the visit of the Welsh to Boston.

Initially scheduled for December 8. So for December 25th. I looked for NF (I'm a subscriber) and now it just says: coming soon!
The docu-series trailer, according to Twitter, has already reached a number of dislikes in excess of 200K and the comments are open and are overwhelming against the duo.

Question: Did H&M pick the date for the release of the trailer or did NF itself?

I know we're tired of H&M attitudes, but let's not forget that:
a) The sovereign was the Queen and not KCIII. Therefore, KCIII followed our monarch's directives. Removing the H&M bonds required the Queen's talks with parliament. And now we know that she was also struggling with a serious and severe illness.
b) KCIII has not yet been crowned, his position as King next to Camilla was a sharp sword over his head. He has already held talks with parliament that we don't know about. Leave the crown on your head first!
God save/bless The King!

Sorry, I forgot to give the reference.

Everyone is seeing and calling out the silly games. Contrary to what The Guardian believes, the duo are without talent and a dwindling support base. The only way they get attention is by 'using' the real royals.

That Times article is devastating. Sure there will be fanatical supporters who don't care about lies or who gets hurt (after all, Hitler, and other evil people did not do their evil deeds without support), but I think most people are turned off by their ruthless self-serving behaviour. Unfortunately for them, they have no talent so have nothing to offer other than decreasingly interesting interviews and documentaries about self. Never has there been a couple so deluded about their own talents, abilities and likeability.

Why people at The Guardian think they are so popular and so on-point with their PR and that the Prince and Princess of Wales are has been fuddie duddies is a mystery to me. There is no evidence to support that view.

The last time they saw The Queen, Lady SH was present and they repeatedly harassed the Queen for photographs of her with the children, especially the Lillibet meets Lillibet. The Queen was not smilingly agreeable like Archbishop Tutu had been when they brought out the child they refused to let the British public see for the photo op Arch meets Arch.

Did anyone else notice that the two photographs where she is supposedly crying are credited with being taken by a Backgrid photographer, who own copyright. Yep, she took her go-to photographers into the Palace, without permission from the Queen, and into their home (Crown property) to pose for faux reality photographs. I hope the media wake up and expose the fake ridiculousness of it all.

Oh, and those who think that she may be fuming that they don't have access to A-listers, even in the Kennedy family ... I have a point of view about that. She is so wrapped up in and deluded about herself that in her mind there is no one 'above' her. All people simply exist to worship her, give her money, and give her a platform to speak. She is superior to everyone, and if she gushingly says otherwise, she is putting on an act, indulging in a bit of 'oh gosh' love bombing to gather more worshippers.
@Sandie,

It’s been said before, The Guardian and The Express are explicitly on the duo’s side. They are anti-monarchists and pro Maggot and Mole. The Guardian is very left leaning and Woke too. There are other papers who aren’t entirely factual or unbiased, but the above two are the worst ones. 😳☹️
@Karla,

I don't know where you are based, and please forgive me for this, but I think I should mention that there have been recent objections from Welsh Nationalists about the ancient practice of the eldest son of the monarch bearing the title `Prince of Wales' as since Edward I, not one of them has ever been Welsh.I'm not sure if the objections came officially from the political party Plaid Cymru but it's a sensitive matter in some quarters who say the last true Prince of Wales died in the 13th century.

The first Prince of the current creation may not have spoken speak English - he was just a babe in arms at the time- and the current Duke and Duchess have lived in Wales but this cuts no ice. They aren't Welsh.

During Charles's Investiture at Caernarfon/Caernarvon, a dull `thud' was heard nearby. Nothing was said at the time but it has emerged since that it was a terrorist/freedom fighters' bomb that exploded prematurely, destroying the would-be bombers.

When Charles & Diana were in conflict, it was called the `War of the Waleses', a much safer handle for William and Catherine.

I know a Guardian reader who doesn't seem to know who or what he hates more, religion/the Church or the monarchy. He gloats about a family connection to one of the murderers of Thomas á Becket (d.1189) so I suppose it's the Church.
Late last night I read an article (probably in the Mail - I'll look for the link) about how H was badgering the late Queen for money even in her final months. It reported that she told him to ask his father. When the late HM then asked him why he hadn't given in to H, Charles reportedly said that he `wasn't a bank'.

So in effect went H had been to Cashpoint Charlie and put in his card, so to speak, it produced the message that he had exhausted his credit. This must have infuriated H because he knew that Dad hadn't got `insufficient funds'!

So much for how H loved Queen Elizabeth, pestering her for money when she was nearing her deathbed. Despicable.

harry energy december 3, ok thats not pretty,
this successful tour of William and Catherine with the American crowd which is oraganic has opened the door to a form of crumbling of his mind, he feels like a loser, he can clearly see that he does not currently get that neither crowd nor respect for politicians, the American community has closed their hearts or their doors to him, that is how he thinks. Wait, we published this trailer and you react like that, more and more of you come and you want photos of them and you give flowers… and I’ve been here for 2 years!!!! but it’s a new door that opens for him, the door of healing and happiness (a beginning) because he has to admit all these plans for 3 years have not worked and the American public prefers brother and his sister-in-law

energy 3 december by meghan oracle of energies
first row: a lot of anger, she wants to speed up time, she feels betrayed, a lot of anxiety, she is not sure of the result and the reaction of the public.
After this trailer, the citizens of Boston came to see William and Catherine, how will Hollywood react? they’ll think I’m the loser and Catherine the winner. The reaction of the American public is bewildered by Meghan. (I think the tarot reader means the duchess is bewildered!)
Second row, she no longer knows what to do as an advertisement to be noticed, she tries every possible strategy but she is always left in the cold. The Americans, that is to say the citizens of Boston, preferred William and Catherine.
Back row, she’s not happy, she’s going to lie to people and the New York community to tell her truth.

Thanks for all the informative responses about the Guardian. I have always been a liberal, but just do not understand this new liberal rhetoric. Liberals nowadays come across as destructive ignorant bullies and conservatives seem to have become the last bastion for freedom of expression and so on.

I remember visiting the UK and visiting speakers' corner in Hyde Park. Coming from a very repressive country, I was astonished to see that someone could stand on a soap box, denounce the government, insult the Queen, even support Communism and they would not be arrested and the democracy continued to flourish. Perhaps after too much freedom people long for repression so that they can fight for that freedom all over again?

evidently more staff turnover. harry and meghan taking over lead roles at archwell. timing is bad. making it public right after the netflix trailer drop but before the actual series. before the ripped out our hope award when the focus would be back on the sussexes. me thinks the rats are jumping ship. oh and when you leave you publicly announce you will still be friends. oh there is some good dirt to be had behind this one.

tarot readings. it is curious after the series and the book. what will they do? yes they are not getting any traction here. i am recalling hoping the series and the book basically shut the door on them for good

Karla. interesting about the ESG/climate change advisors upset by the netflix drop around earthshot. netflix did it for maximum exposure. and they have their backs against the wall. content is expensive and they have had a lot of misses. shoes they need the basic business to work and screw ESG in the meantime. or the first company to choose profit over purpose (or virtue signaling take your pick)

Is This the REAL THING THIS TIME? or is this just stringing people along?

Recently there was (yet another) post somewhere out in the world about how they will soon divorce.  And my first thought was: Haven't I heard this before?  which moved quickly to: how many times have I heard this (through the years)? There were a number of questions raised which ... I don't know.  I'm not a lawyer.  One of the points which has been raised is that KC would somehow be shelling out beaucoup money to get her to go "away".  That he has all this money stashed away and can pull it out at a moment's notice.  But does he? He inherited a lot of "stuff" from his mother but ... isn't it a lot of tangible stuff like properties? and with that staff to maintain it and insurance.  Inside said properties is art, antique furniture and other "old stuff" which may be valuable" but ... that kind of thing is subject to the whims and bank accounts of the rarified people who may be interested in it (which is not most of us in terms of bei

A Quiet Interlude

Not much appears to be going on. Living Legends came and went without fanfare ... what's the next event?   Super Bowl - Sunday February 11th?  Oscar's - March 10th?   In the mean time, some things are still rolling along in various starts and stops like Samantha's law suit. Or tax season is about to begin in the US.  The IRS just never goes away.  Nor do bills (utility, cable, mortgage, food, cars, security, landscape people, cleaning people, koi person and so on).  There's always another one.  Elsewhere others just continue to glide forward without a real hint of being disrupted by some news out of California.   That would be the new King and Queen or the Prince/Princess of Wales.   Yes there are health risks which seemed to come out of nowhere.  But.  The difference is that these people are calmly living their lives with minimal drama.

Christmas is Coming

The recent post which does mention that the information is speculative and the response got me thinking. It was the one about having them be present at Christmas but must produce the kids. Interesting thought, isn't it? Would they show?  What would we see?  Would there now be photos from the rota?   We often hear of just some rando meeting of rando strangers.  It's odd, isn't it that random strangers just happen to recognize her/them and they have a whole conversation.  Most recently it was from some stranger who raved in some video (link not supplied in the article) that they met and talked and listened to HW talk about her daughter.  There was the requisite comment about HW of how she is/was so kind).  If people are kind, does the world need strangers to tell us (are we that kind of stupid?) or can we come to that conclusion by seeing their kindness in action?  Service. They seem to always be talking about their kids, parenthood and yet, they never seem to have the kids
