The Nutty Challenge: What does Meghan do all day?

It's a time-tested parlour game: What is celebrity X doing right this minute?

In the case of celebrity women who are roughly Duchess Meghan's age (Beyoncé, Chrissy Teigen, the Duchess of Cambridge) the answers are pretty easy. Spending time with the kids. Having a wardrobe fitting. Working with trusted staff to plan future projects.

But if you assume that Meg doesn't have custody of her (potentially nonexistent) son Archificial, can't keep staff, has no announced future projects, and certainly doesn't do much wardrobe fitting - what, in fact, does she do all day?

You can only spend so much time writing Word Salad posts for @SussexRoyal Instagram and harassing royal reporters using multiple pseudonyms on Twitter.

What do you think Duchess Meghan's daily routine consists of?

Oh I'm sure she keeps very very busy. By 1. Looking at clips and photos of Diana and other European women and practising in her mirror. 2. Looking at clips and photos of Kate and William and grinding her teeth in hatred that Kate got him first. 3. Perusing Instagram all day while eating cheese curls and chocolates. 4. Writing emails to designers begging for freebies. 5. Online shopping. 6. Face fillers and Botox shots. 7. Shopping for a second baby since the first one went home to his mother. 8. Waiting for Beyonce to return her texts. 9. Reruns of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. 10. Writing her stunning new memoir in calligraphy. 11. Still no word from Bey. 12. What is Amal up to? 13. Checking to see where Harry is and where his ex-girlfriends are. 14. Boy, Beyonce must be ill and unable to pick up her phone. 15. Checking to see if the Queen is dead yet. 16. Looking for avocados. 17. Looking for someone to take care of these damn dogs already. 18. Sobbing into her wine. 19. Trying on different tiaras on her Tiara App on the phone. 20. I'll just text Beyonce again. Surely she wants to talk to me, her Princess.

I like those activities, Miss Christina, but I do believe that you have overlooked that grouse season begins, I believe, Monday the 12th. Obviously she is coordinating her hiking heels with her shooting skirts to shoot grouse with the queen.
Miss_Christina said…
Or preparing her life-changing protest of grouse hunting for her Instagram. So woke!
SwampWoman said…
She may be in the Balmoral kitchens instructing the culinary staff about the American method of preparing grouse (and tossing salads with and without avocado).

Oh, dear. The Queen may have invited her to Balmoral to go fly fishing. That could be awkward.

I love Miss Christina's answer! I would agree that she probably sends out VIP emails all day to Ennifil and Wintour followed by stalking Harry and his ex's. I heard samantha got banned from Twitter, sure Megsy had something to do with that. Shopping for bronzer. We forgot about that. Btw Nutty not sure if you noticed there is increasing outcry over abolition of the monarchs and I think it started with MM. But the public seeing will and Kate having way too good of a time being fit tanned with no mortgage is making the Brits quite irritated. I would love to hear your writers thoughts of whether the BRF will slowly wither away in the next generation.

She spends an extraordinary amount of time shopping. I think she is insatiable in this regard. I think if we knew just how much money she spent on trinkets and other junk, there would be a revolution. Also, she spends a lot of time scrutinizing social media for comments and ideas for her looks and future projects.

Hi Veena! It's always hard to predict the future, but I don't think nationalism is going away - in fact, I think it's coming back and will be even stronger after Brexit.

For the English and the Welsh I think the Royal Family are still a strong symbol - although probably less so for the Scots and the people of the Commonwealth.

So I don't see the Windsors needing unemployment checks anytime soon. But they may find their role more closely resembles that of the Scandinavian royals. The Scandi royals have a lot fewer people on the public payrolls than the Windsors do.

The real difference for the Windsors (and for the other royals) is the loss of power of traditional Protestant churches, like the Church of England. You don't hear many people argue these days that God sent Elizabeth to rule Britain.

And if no one believes that's the case, then why the Windsors instead of any other family? What justifies them having so much wealth?

Great answer Miss Christina! I love the memoir written in calligraphy.

I imagine she also has Google Alerts set up for herself, so that her phone buzzes whenever there is a new article published about her or (perhaps) about Harry.

Agreed. I always wonder what name celebrities use for online shopping. Do you think she has a staff member or lady-in-waiting she can have all the packages sent to?

The sad thing is to spend all that money shopping and still look awful. Better to buy one dress and have it exquisitely tailored than three of the wrong size and squish into them like a sausage.

I don't think she necessarily spends on clothing. I think she just spends on anything and everything she can like jewellery, knick knacks for the home, furniture, you name it. She thinks she has an unlimited spending limit and she is going for it. As for the clothing, she doesn't care because her goal is acquisition, not style. She knows that being a style icon can make her money, but the money is what she cares about.
punkinseed said…
Mischi, exactly. She's money laundering via merch, then stashing the cash.
When Ari Onassis put Jackie on an allowance, she would shop non stop, buying blouses in every color and on and on. Then she'd return, return return and get the cash.
She's likely bored by now so spends a lot of time planning her next attention seeking project that tops her "surprise" polo appearance, or her "surprise" appearance at the fashion awards. I wonder if or when she'll realize that people are starting to be surprised if she doesn't show up at their event.
Girl with a Hat said…
here's a good question - what would you do in your spare time if you had Meghan's opportunities? I would take small day trips to historic sites and take the opportunity to get specialists in history to give me a guided tour. Talk to the scholars in Cambridge and Oxford, learn about the traditional food in various areas of Britain, learn to ride with the help of the Royal Family, and do a lot of sailing.
Girl with a Hat said…
oh, I forgot - do some fly fishing in Scotland.

Loved Christina’s satire. Exactly correct too. I think The Meg’s life is devoted to making money: shopping and returning (as discussed above), loading up on valuables such as jewelry she can monetize, dreaming up ideas for new income-generating projects such as her clothing line, merching, thinking about book ideas, figuring out how to skim from Frogmore renovations, and godall what else. All for her life post divorce. After that she is fighting the Web and anything negative posted there. She is also plotting her next PR debacle and barking orders at Sara Latham. All while doing keto and being even more of a grouch because of it.

The real list:
1. Rosé all day.
2. Running the Meyhive from her dozens of fake accounts and telling them who to get banned from Twitter.
3. Writing fake PR about herself.
4. Fake charities.
5. Photoshopping fake pics for IG.
6. Buying more bots.
7. Writing fake PR to make W&K look bad.
8. Fake foundation.
9. Sucking up to celebs she can use and then ghost.
10. More rosé, along with roast chicken b/c she's also a fake vegan.

The fake list:
1. Goat yoga with Archificial in the floating-floor studio.
2. Gong bathing.
3. Vegan avo toast and lemon water for brekkie. (It's actually pink water, but who will know?).
4. Sniffing the vegan eucalyptus paint to make sure it's pure.
5. Designing a fashion line of hemp-and-banana-fiber workwear, manufactured by woke, multi-ethnic, empowered workers, whose profits will go to benefit the MM Foundation for ME.
6. The besties (Serena, Amal, Bey, Jess, and Marcus) drop by for a spot of organic elderflower, mint, and psilocybin tea.
7. Chicken tacos with Michelle and Ed.
8. £500 vegan breathing class (today's agenda: learning to breathe through one's nose).
9. Deciding which lucky charities will be gifted with a hand-calligraphed picture of M in a tiara, along with a special leather-bound journal in which to record their thoughts of gratitude (which will later be collected and published on IG).
10. £1000 evening spa treatment with essential oils, salt crystal lamps, Himalayan singing shot glasses, and all-you-can-drink rosé.

Let's not leave out whining to daddy-in-law Charles. If recent rumours are true, Charles is suggesting more support for poor Meg and less criticism of her remarkable ways. This does not augur well for prospect of RF straightening out the mess. Charles stands between the two conventional, sane people, QE and William. That intervening Charles on the throne time could extinguish all hope of a continuing monarchy. He could easily have been paving the way/ testing the waters with this MM experiment, the better to know how to push his more liberal, elitist agenda. Isn't he bedazzled by the likes of G Clooney, every bit as much as MM? He's aware of his own royal-ness and very natty and refined, but he does seem to adore the "modern" politics. Meaghan may consult with her dad-in-law between those unanswered texts to Bey...

Oh, Miss Cristina! You are so right in everything that you wrote. She definitely has Google Alerts for: "MM", "Duchess of Sussex", "HRHMM", "Archificial", "Royal Sussex", "Kate Middleton", "Queen Letizia", "Givenchy", "MM Icon" "Meyhive", "avocados". And she Googles a lot: "how to write children's books", "how to erase the cookies of your computer", "how to pretend that you don't care about the press", "how to be better than your sister in law", "how to add multiple profiles to the IG app of your phone", "how to hire russian bots", "how to buy IG followers", "how to create your own press release".
Well well well.... Why speculate about what MM does in her free time, when MM herself has let us know... Going by her lastest IG, she has been looking up famous people's quotes on instagraI, an idea that she has copied and is now peddling as the lastest unique way to inspire us plebs.

As someone above pointed out, she probably spends most her time online, either shopping or IG looking up the latest fashion trends. I'm quite sure she'll soon come up her own version of the French tuck.

She just couldn't stay low... Urghhh *eyeroll*

I would love the opportunities she has. I'd be poking my nose into everything: stately homes, castles, libraries, historic sites. Studying Britain as it is as opposed to my vision of it based on Jane Austen, James Herriot and the histories of Antonia Fraser. Become the patron of archaeology, or something. Ride in the countryside. And if course, visit the seasides, which are probably a lot like the ones I'm used to in northern New England, rocky, cold and windy, lol.

She wakes up super early in the morning, hoping to find Harry who probably hasn’t spent the night in the same place as her in weeks.
When she realizes he is nowhere to be found, she then logs onto Instagram to check and see what the cool Instagram Mom’s are posting about, making notes about what to post the next time she has to edit a stolen picture to try and prove Archie is rea.
After that she checks to see if her pro-Meghan, anti-Kate articles she’s had sent out have been posted and starts to outline more ridiculous ideas to show the family likes her more.
She’s hungry now, she goes to the kitchen looking for Avocado so she can make some toast but finds none. She leaves a stern note to the staff that she has requested Avocado every day, and none have been purchased. It is in a stack of other notes for the staff that haven’t been picked up yet—since she has no actual staff who sticks around.
She quickly sends Harry a text storm of her complaints and demands. He doesn’t reply back.
Time for twitter!
She makes herself some mint tea, sits and looks for the latest messages she can RT about her disgust for American Politicians, how wonderful her life with her husband and new baby are. Then she starts checking in on her Haters, looking for people who are out to get her.
A visitor has arrived! An official from the Royal Family is here to remind her that she has rules to follow. Meghan doesn’t give a damn, starts insisting that she and Harry are bringing forward a new era, a new Royal family. She rushes up the stairs, when she has returned she is carrying a plastic doll. “I am the mother of the seventh in line to the throne! You can not tell me how to behave.”
“That’s not a real baby, where is Master Archie?”
“This is Master Archie.” She pushed the plastic doll in the officials face. “This is the future King of England!” her voice a high pitched screech and squawk.
She continues to charge forward towards the official until they’re out the door.
She carelessly tosses the doll onto a couch before returning to her laptop, to discover the positive press that Taylor Swift is getting for the US September issue of Vogue.
Expletives fly from her mouth, cries of racism flow as she tosses plastic fake plants around. The staff that does come by once a week already having replaced the expensive breakables weeks before. She then picks up her phone and starts to bombard Harry with texts.
This continues until Harry shows up to check on her. She cries about how unfair the world treats her, that it’s just not fair. She’s an exceptional person, she’s the change the world needs. How can anyone deny her?
She pushed the fake doll into Harry’s arms. “This is our son, this is Archie. He will be King!”
“William will be King, then George.”
“No, Archie. King Archie! My beautiful baby boy will be King.”
Harry sighs, knowing he can’t convince her otherwise. As he tries to formulate something to say to calm her down, her phone goes off with an alert.
The rumors are swirling that Beatrice will become engaged soon. Meghan again begins a storm of words about how dare someone steal the spotlight from them, their son, the perfect life they lead.
Another alert comes up, adorable pictures of Princess Charlotte sticking her tongue out at the crowd.
More words about how unfair it is that Charlotte is considered adorable while Meghan childish.
“Charlotte is 4 years old.” Harry reminds her carefully before he sees the shift in her eyes before she picks up a framed photo of herself that she pitches across the room.
He carefully cradles the doll in his arm, “It’s Archie’s bedtime. Let me put him down. You’ve had a very difficult day without the Nanny.”
She waves him off as he goes up the stairs with the doll. She sits on the couch plotting to get the attention back on her.
Harry watches from the door way, wondering which exit will be best.

1) Harry's daily lesson on how-to-be-woke, and reminder of why anyone who
doesn't like her is racist
2) Take edgy & artful (10 years ago) photos of Archie's feet, top of head, hand, etc that will
be published on SM, in b+w of course, when William & Kate's kids get too much media
attention.
3) Make new recording of her repeating, "what Meghan wants, Meghan gets" over & over,
to be played while Harry is sleeping for subliminal suggestion. The previous 75
recordings are beginning to warp from over play.
4) Send staff members out to buy up issues of the Sept Vogue. But if sales are
still weak, by all means it's due to racism, and it's all Ed Enniful's fault anyway. Oh, and
must remember to block his number in the event the shit hits the fan.
5) Try to think of new ways to accuse non-stans of racism. Unconscious bias was great;
very Gwyneth. Mmm, wonder if Gwyneth would like to be friends...
6) Buy more SM bots. Key words & phrases that are to be used liberally are: beautiful,
humanitarian, brilliant, A-list actress, so much better than Kate, my princess, Earth
mother
7) Scour BRF calendar to determine what events can be crashed, then buy new outfits
8) Start a rumor that Dole is going to start to include inspiration messages on their
bananas thanks to her influence
9) Remind BRF that dumbass Harry spilled the tea, so I am here to stay.

I don't think W+K are any better than H+M, entitlement-wise. They also spend tons, take a lot of holidays (esp before kids), and only look engaged at the "fun" events. It's only the comparison that is making them look good at the moment. But if MM is responsible for leaking William's affair with Rose (which I believe it's true) that is really awful of her. That's between W+K and Rose & her spouse, and I have no doubt that all parties involved were aware of what was going on.

My gut feeling is that Charles has a stealth plan for getting MM out of the BRF. I have no doubt that Harry has told her where the bodies are buried, so to speak, and the family knows this. But he will also have to tread carefully because Harry is his son, and I am sure that he would rather gouge his own eyes out than hurt him. And add to it that some people still believe the Diana good, Charles bad narrative, and still think of Harry & William as the young boys walking behind her casket. As heart-wrenching as that was, and W+H will carry that with them always, they are both well into their 30s, married, & with families, but continue to play the Diana card almost 22 years later. Charles knows he can't compete, but William has the Diana advantage, so Charles could use him to implement any plans with minimum public outcry. I think he would agree to it - I have no doubt that MM leaked his affair to the press, he know this, and knows that MM will not hesitate to leak other info. And he has got to be scared to death that she will not hesitate to involve his kids, which could easily impact their safety, especially as they grow older.

I am interested in self-improvement; Meghan is not, unless the improvement involves some kind of cosmetic surgery. With her opportunities, I would like to think I could take full advantage of them, and turn the constraints of my role into positive self-development>

Duchess Deportment lessons: American girls who did not grow up within titled nobility and spend years at finishing schools need to learn things like, how to walk like an aristocrat; how to talk posh; how not to make an idiot of oneself at a 12-course state dinner. How to properly navigate etiquette of precedence. Who goes first; who defers to whom. Proper modes of address, in person, in correspondence and Instagram. When it is and is not appropriate to shake hands or use first names. Social dancing. How to wear gloves. (Leather ones in June are NO.) How to wear hats. Ladylike responses to wardrobe malfunctions in public. How to respectfully treat staff.

For someone who ostensibly has practiced yoga since she was a young girl, it's amazing how graceful Megatroid isn't. Her posture is awful. (Check out the B&W dress at the old people's home with her neck hunched and stretched toward a lady like a Brontosaurus foraging for plants. Really most unattractive. This is why Megs was never very successful as a model or actress . . she just looks ungainly all the time. Unusual in a (formerly) slender woman who claimed to have had stage training, but there it is.

Poise like Kate's takes years of practice and it doesn't hurt to have money because practicing deportment under Duchess-like conditions gets expensive.

Which leads me to:

Horseback riding lessons. I could make a pun here and say that Meg's had plenty of experience in the saddle, but hers is not the kind she needs now. She has joined a horsey family that is all about country pursuits. Most of the family are all accomplished riders. I have a repugnance for the aristocratic fetish for slaughtering animals in the guise of fun, but if she's going to forgo the hunt, she should at least be basically proficient in horse riding. Diana's fear of horses and refusal to join into any of the rustic pursuits these folks live for made her outlier status all the more distinct, and it'll be the same for Smegs.

The RF has access to the best instruction in any field . . she should take every lesson she can.

Languages. As ambassadress to the Commonwealth, she should have conversational fluency in French and Spanish, at a minimum. While she's at it, she should have remedial instruction in the basics of English composition and the difference between 'cramped cursive handwriting with ostentatious flourishes' and 'calligraphy'. An awful cod Brit faux accent should be avoided but she could at least learn the expressions and spellings of her adopted nation. She doesn't have to be so relentlessly in-your-face American all the time. Pretending to be selectively mute could only help her cause.

Interesting read and perhaps it's true but I wouldn't believe anything that any member of this family has to say. They throw each other under the bus all the time. Thomas has proven himself a liar with the staged paparazzi pictures, for money of course. It also bothers me that he released MM's letter to him. There's little doubt that she knew he would and that was her intention all along (what's with the ridiculous penmanship and flourishes anyway??) but what kind of father does that to his daughter? I saw one interview where he was saying that he told MM that he wanted to say a few words at the wedding reception and that she indicated that "there won't be time for that." He seemed particularly bothered by that and by Harry berating him and telling him "I told you so" about talking to the press. That, IMO is when he decided that he wasn't going to the wedding. "I just wanted to say what I wanted to say" is a very telling statement. If he didn't get his way he wasn't going to go. Now that is a willful streak. Another indication that Thomas is out for himself. The apple, as they say, doesn't fall far from the tree. This family is perfect for an episode of Jerry Springer or Geraldo, complete with throwing chairs at each other.

Doria seemed to be the exception with he classy demeanor at the wedding but who knows? Maybe she's the actress in the family. At this point, nothing surprises me where any of them are concerned.

I'm sure one of the things Smeaghan is doing right now is obsessively reading negative reviews/comments about her guest editorial effort at Vogue and making voodoo dolls of/siccing lawyers on the most prominent critics.

I'm sure Harry Markle's got her own dolly and attempted injunctions. She's on a roll! In her third post this week, she eviscerates Meghan's September issue, including this observation from MeGain Heroine and feminist icon, Gloria Steinem:

>>>I did like the archive photo of Gloria Steinem by Horst, and while she has done much for the image of feminism, don’t believe all that you read. A friend of mine is a cousin of hers and worked as her PA for a short time, and let us just say her actions back then did not mirror the feminist rhetoric that was proclaimed.

Had she been interested in history - and had she been clever - perhaps she could have done a BBC-type documentary series, "Meghan Discovers Britain" or something along those lines.

Bring along cameras as she visits the Lakes District for the first time, or Liverpool, or Hadrian's Wall.

If she'd had some humility and humor, she could have asked simple but important questions about what each landmark meant for the country's history. The British people might have been charmed by her interest in their country, which had just become her country.

Of course, Meg is Meg and isn't interested in anything but herself, so that wasn't going to happen.

Oh well. Maybe Harry's next wife.

Although I disagree with William and Catherine also being entitled. Catherine's parents paid for her very expensive wedding dress and also for their latest family vacation in Mustique. I think he leaked that letter because Megs asked him to do it. Yes. Thomas can be a liar and is selfish and willful, but, even a broken clock tells the truth twice a day, so I think he was being truthful about what Doria taught Megs. I doubt he's imaginative enough to fully fabricate such a claim without a thread of facts to tie it together. I think they both taught Megs to use people like that, too.
I don't get why Doria has been framed as the upstanding parent at all. All she's ever done is kept her mouth shut, and her movements are hollow and wooden.
Thomas is more the immature attention seeker who acts like a spoiled baby and refuses to compromise when things don't go his way. Kind of like Megs and Harry.

Agreed. What an opportunity she had in her unprecedented position as the Windsors' first American member to really win people over and serve as a bridge between our two nations. With Edward's production company, they could have done a whole series of documentaries of Meg discovering British life, landmarks and culture. They could have expanded to the Commonwealth countries she visits, too. Instead she spends 8 months of her first year of marriage guest-editing a British magazine and stuffs it full of American names.

I think the Obamas made a generally good impression on British citizens when they visited, but they have not been in the White House for 3 years and are therefore not relevant to British readers. They are only marginally more relevant to American readers. Was there no prominent British woman that Meg could have selected to email 6 vapid questions to? Maybe she did and they all refused. Why not Sophie Wessex, Meghan's new aunt-by-marriage who is also a mother, and whose parenting of younger children within the royal family is more relevant.

Meg could be living such an interesting life, but she's blown that chance.

As a Brit, I mind less about William and Kate costing us money - he's the heir to the throne and they are doing a decent job. I mind more that the spare has squandered the goodwill towards him, and has married some two bit actress, who is spending taxpayers money like water and behaving like Marie Antoinette.

On the upside, she seems to be a dimwit who has conflated monarchy with celebrity. The whole point of monarchy is survival, no matter what. If you are a problem, then you will be out. European monarchies have survived all manner of scandals in recent years. All have survived. Ruthlessness is hard wired.

She'll overplay her hand at some point, and will exit the stage.

Lime,

Meghan is not representative of American women as a whole. I'm sorry your experiences with the two Americans who grifted their way into the Royal family have been so negative, but believe me when I say that American woman (non-sugary ones) are as appalled by her behavior as you are. More . . because she's making us look so bad, both as a country and as a gender.

We revile her.
Lime_Smoothie said…
Thanks Hikari. I visited New York last year, and people were absolutely charming (even though they have quite the rep for being a bit surly!), so I'm not under any illusions that this grifter (I absolutely love that word, we don't really have an equivalent in UK English) is representative of normal Americans.

My late grandmother used to scoff at the mention of Wallis Simpson's name, and I clearly recall when she died in the 1980s, my granny losing her temper at the news report 'that AWFUL woman'.

The issue that MM has is that public opinion in the UK is very fickle, and once the tide has turned, there is no way back. This feels very much like Andrew and Fergie - he had a lot of public goodwill from his time in the military, she seemed a likeable and bubbly character, had a work history behind her. It unravelled pretty quickly and she became more and more desperate for the public to love her, so the more overexposed she became, the worse things got. She lasted ten years, I don't expect MM to manage even half of that.

Off topic, but a follow-up on our previous thread on whether William was behind the bad press about Meghan.

Sun correspondent Dan Wootton said this yesterday in a video interview:

"(Harry) will sit in that publicly funded mansion - because it’s not a cottage, it’s a £2.4million mansion refurbished by us on taxpayers money - he’ll watch the TV coverage and he’ll flick through the newspapers and look at all of those articles online about him, cursing his staff.

"Rather than actually addressing the fact that much of the negativity towards the couple is coming from within the Royal Family.

“The Royal Family and staff of the Royal Family are the ones that are very often leaking these stories to the press.”

Top candidates, from my point of view: Prince Andrew plus William's press secretary Christian Jones and Lord Geidt's BP team.

Longshot candidate: Camilla.

The comments on this site are the cleverest and such a pleasure to read. Exactly how I feel but could not put as eloquently.
The issue with Archie being real is the most confusing as I really do not believe the Queen would have posed with a doll like that. I think Meghan may have had a surrogate and could have fooled the RF until they were stuck going along with this farce but to actually pose with the baby? I just can't see the Queen do that. She would have had to notice, and look at Doria looking at the baby.
To bring a doll out in public at the polo seems just too risky.
To involve the head of the church in faking a Christening seems too far out there. There must be a real baby, hers or not.
Can she just be 'borrowing' a baby for these photos? I guess if the doll looks like a sleeping baby they could have fooled the Queen and Phillip for a few minutes but the Aunts as well?
Would Harry do that to his family?
Something is strange for sure, the only way I see them going along is if she is mentally ill, has had a breakdown and they are trying to deal with it behind the scenes. Those around her at the polo seemed tense and she was talking to herself at the TTC.
Her PR antics backfiring over and over and not having the British think she is the next Diana has destroyed her ego.
She may think because of some new star status she can come back to the USA and be a star but that will never happen. The most she can hope for is a reality show where she is just a part of a cast. A few interviews with Oprah and Gale.
Movie roles will not open up because she is not A list material, at all. She never was, and is too old and boring. Far too much ruthless competition and much younger beautiful women who are A list. Creative women not copy cats.
If politics is her angle, forget that. What does she offer as a politician? Just support of a few PC issues? She has never said anything original. She has never done the actual work Jolie has, who she will copy.
Just like she flopped as a royal she will flop coming back to America.

Robert Maxwell died in very mysterious circumstances, back in 1991. Fell off his yacht and drowned, apparently. He'd stolen millions of pounds from the pension funds of his newspaper workers. Absolute crook.

Thank you Lime Smoothie. It will be interesting to read more of the layers and layers of reveals in this scandal. I wonder who Toronto is referring to regarding a publisher. Quite the mystery. And what about SoHo house's connections.
After reading some of the Epstein articles today, does anyone know if his and Ghiseleane Maxwell's victims can tell all. Is the NDA still binding now that he's dead? Or do they have to continue honoring the NDA's if the agreements are tied to his estate? I think that's possible as when say, you owe a person money and he or she dies. The debt isn't cancelled as you'd still have to pay it back because you'd owe the deceased's estate.

They can - Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 (known as PACE) removed exemption. Unless they are a co-defendant to the criminal charge.

In the US, marital privilege only applies to those true confessions told during marriage. So, for example, the I-used-to-be-an-axe-murderer secret shared on the eve of the wedding -- not exempt. Before and after don't count. All pillow talk of that variety should happen only after you're legally married (that's just an FYI in case any of you in the US used to be axe murderers and want to confess before you say your vows - hold off). Also, if you decide to share that communication with a third-party confidant, then whoops, confidentiality is out the window.

This is off topic, but I have to share because it is so bizarre. Prince Harry's solution to global warming:

'He was saying there are many holiday destinations that because of Instagram and other things are getting trampled by people taking selfies, and these places... are overwhelmed with tourism,' 'The principal argument he was making was the need to actually expand people's interest in places that are not so obviously 'selfie-ised'. It should be a goal to expand where people go for tourism, so these very few places with an enormous concentration of tourists would get some relief.'

What an activist. What a solution.

I'm not really sure how she could walk out with Archie and evade her protection. Buckling a baby into a car seat takes time. Then there's driving the car on the wrong side (for Americans) of the road.

I think that it is a courtesy of the British media that they rarely report on the Royals when they are out on personal activities. There is the occasional report of Kate out in the park with the kids, but not much else.

One could ask why there are no photos published from members of the public, but the same thing goes for Kate and William. I think that the British public has grown up to just not do that sort of thing.

I double dog dare Prince Harry to lead the way. YeeHaw Junction, Florida, should be the first destination vacation on his selfie list. Oh, he has to stay at the local accommodations.

Maybe Prince Harry could star in his own version of "Dirty Jobs" in the UK. It would probably be a big hit as people tune in weekly to watch him clean whatever portable toilets are called in the UK, roadkill removal, mucking out the polo pony stables, emptying the garbage after fancy dinner parties, etc.

punkinseed said…
Ohhhh I dunno. Remember when Harry and Megs went to that specialty shop that sells what? herbs, teas and crystals or whatever? They were out on a personal activity when those shots were taken. It was a few weeks before the baby was born.
As far as what Megs is doing all day? My guess is she's knocking herself out copying quotes and writing plagiarized and sophomoric speeches for Haz.
You know what's very odd? Although they demand privacy for the baby, such as photos and milestones, notice that they never ever talk about the baby? They don't talk about losing sleep, teething, baby's first giggle, nothing. It's like he does not exist at all. New parents just don't go a moment without bragging about this or that, or how crazy they are about their baby. Neither of them appear to be bonded at all with this infant. It's very off, abnormal.

So, side bets on Balmoral, Nutties? Will the megster be spending her free time in Balmoral breaking royal protocol and pissing off Scotland? An article in The Sun says Will & Kate are waiting for the markles to leave before visiting. Looks like the private wing and special cake have been tossed. Now Latham is pitching the little cottage for the Dumbartons.

"However if the Sussex and Cambridge visits do coincide, the expert claims that it will be easy to avoid each other.

Duke of Kent looked fairly frail at Wimbledon, but big announcements/state funerals are generally only for monarch/former monarch or spouse/heir to throne. Diana only got a state funeral due to public opinion being in favour.
Hikari said…
Even if it were somehow media knowledge that an elderly member of the RF was terminally ill, there's no way to predict a death 'in the very near future' without a crystal ball and hotline to the afterworld. Frail, sick, super-old people have been known to linger for years, and in this family, longevity is on their side. I was surprised to see that Philip made it to Balmoral. He must be feeling well, or else he got wind that Fergie was up there and that put a burr in his saddle.

More soberly, perhaps PP has a feeling that this will be his last summer to visit Balmoral. I was hoping that at age 98, and more than 20 years since Sarah shamed the family, PP'd be willing to bury the hatchet with his former daughter-in-law, but Fergie hightailed it out of there right quick.

I think this is media stirring. Maybe they are taking a page out of MM's playbook and announcing something that they 'hope' will happen. Perhaps Megs has tipped them off that she's planning to take Kate out at Balmoral with a staged 'accident', which also claims Meg's husband, leaving the way open for Megatron to marry William and become the future Queen of England.

I do think this is how what passes for her mind works.

If anything should happen to that sweet baby, whoever he is--because excepting the bizarre IG photo, the polo and the presentation, which remain hazy, we did see a real baby the other times--apart from a very tardy announcement to the fact that 'Archie' is with his biological mother and will remain there . . .and by 'happen', I mean announcements of his tragic death from SIDS, so his 'mother' can channel Jackie Kennedy in her own mind . . well, let's just say Epstein's end would be too good for her.

There is a very real possibility that what the media has gotten wind of was prompted from a 'rehearsal' for Philip's funeral . . just dotting the is and crossing the ts for the eventual day. They do do that . .practice dying. Philip coordinated his wife's coronation, so I imagine he wants his own send-off, and hers, to be well-organized.

The funeral could be for Megs, if somebody's planning to relieve the citizens of GB of that particular tax burden and didn't feel like keeping it a surprise.

What crazy times we live in.
Lime_Smoothie said…
I honestly think Phil is the mostly likely candidate. He retired from official duties a couple of years ago, and the chat since then has been that he is very seriously ill. I doubt he has long left.

The main media outlets would be alerted if death was imminent/has already happened, they have reporting ready for deaths of all the main royals, and it would likely involve temporary suspension of some normal TV broadcasting.

The BBC and ITV, plus Sky (main UK TV channels) also need to get the big name newsreaders in to make the announcement, and then present the rolling coverage (and it is summer, so lots of them are off on holidays or on side projects).

The TV channels also need to secure their serious presenters to cover the funeral.

Parliament is not sitting, as it is in summer recess, and if it is the Queen's passing, then it will need to be recalled.

There are plans in place for all the major royals, but if someone younger goes unexpectedly (like Diana in 97), this is what causes difficulties in making arrangements.

Could just be a rehearsal which has turned into a rumour, but I've a feeling it might be the D of E.

It is strange to me that someone is so desperate that they actually believe dropping hints via fake stories is going to garner an invitation. The outlandishness of the stories is baffling, too. Somehow I just doubt that HMTQ is "enormously" excited about being able to host the markles - does anyone believe that tripe? And now Doria might get an invitation? Seriously, I'm sure Doria is just fine, but I can't imagine the BRF chumming around with her, esp if the did-a-stint-in-prison-for-embezzlement are true. Somehow "The duchess born on this day in 1981 or whenever" doesn't line up with enormous excitement on the Queen's part, and there is no way that would have been IGd randomly.

I guess it's possible that the D of E arrived but not alive - could that be the source of the rumor?
Lime_Smoothie said…
Absolutely could be, Elle, that did occur to me too.

Outside bet is Charles, who was definitely in Scotland last week - people do speculate that he has high blood pressure/heart problems. If he has gone suddenly, then it would explain the sudden rumour of a 'Bridge' event.

That would be a much bigger deal than Philip, as he is heir to the throne. It would be a massive shock to the nation, too. Plus there would need to be big plans made for William's investiture as Prince of Wales.

KayeC said…
Phillip just survived a car wreck at 98 years old, that's pretty amazing. I also remember a CDAN blind that he was rumored to have cancer, not the bladder infection being reported.....so who knows. I agree @Mischi that it could be one of her cousins. It was also reported that Princess Alexandra had been ill, but she was out and about a few weeks ago.

@Lime_Smoothie, "Bridge" event? I apologize in advance. I am sure I *should* know what that means, but...

And I must add, please don't let it be HMTQ or Chas because I do worry about the Cambridges' safety anyway, but W&K are still traveling together with the children. We could end up with PH & MM near the throne and that is unthinkable. Anything but markle. She'd be merching from every property. She'd be a horror. She already is a horror.

Or possibly, @Katewerk, the Campers do realize the impact but figure if the rest of us would just staycation or travel to local places, then they could all do whatever the hell they wanted and the impact wouldn't be so bad, and too bad us. Really, they didn't want to see the peasants there anyway. Markle does not want to mix with the likes of, well, you know, herself and the family she had never had.
Lime_Smoothie said…
Sorry, Elle, a 'Bridge' event means a big Royal Death.

Senior royals have a plan in place for their funeral, public mourning, protocols etc.The plans have a 'codename', and the UK broadcasters and politicians know what these are e.g. the Queen's death is 'Operation London Bridge', the D of E is Forth Bridge, Charles is Menai Bridge...

Richard Palmer from the Daily Express denied he had heard anything earlier today on Twitter, said he thought that it was a rumour based on updated guidance sent out recently to public bodies re. etiquette for royal deaths/public mourning periods e.g. flags flying at half mast etc.

Liz always looks in very good health when seen out in public, and I fervently hope that it is not her. It would be a massive blow to the national psyche for us in the UK. She is still highly respected (unlike Charles).

If it is Charles, then things will change rapidly for William and Catherine in terms of 'normal life'. William and George will have to start to travel separately for security reasons - it would very disruptive to their family, and I hope they have more private time whilst the children are young.
SwampWoman said…
Thanks, Lime_Smoothie! I figured that if they were there, the people that live in the area would know.

Well, I certainly hope that everybody in the royal family is in good health for the sake of our UK brethren and sistren. Balmoral sounds like it would be a beautiful place to die. I would not want to be in a hospital surrounded by strangers.

There's absolutely nothing credible on twitter, just a few retweets of some post from 4chan.

My friend who is a journo on a national paper has heard nothing, I just texted them!

Chalk this one up to hysterical rumour, unless we hear otherwise.

The irony here is that MM does not seem to have been mixing with the Googlers, either. At least, not in any tangible form that we can document. Ya gotta know that she would be flouting it all over social media along with selfies if she was there. So, was this PH initiation in to the Luciferian cult and who paid the price? There is always a blood price...usually young and innocent.

I love the countryside, so I would secretly volunteer to work with all of the sheep the Cotswolds have to offer! I would pull my hair back, get dirty and offer my services with the caveat that they couldn't exploit it. People would find out after my death that I was some kind of hidden wool saint, lol. "Oh, I remember Colleen would come here the first Tuesday of every month, at 4am, and help us feed them!" "I remember back in 2024 she was about to get into her Aston Martin, but a mama was in labor so she stayed to help birth the lambs!" All kinds of fun stuff like that. And I'd know every spec of history from the beginning to the present. Everything. I'd be voracious, I LOVE its history. Oh, and lastly - perhaps most importantly - I'd be doing everything in my power to show my respect and friendship to the Cambridges. Man, we'd have fun . . .

Quite possible that BP et al have been doing funeral rehearsals for royals, which is something they regularly do and a cub reporter didn't know this took it as a prediction.
I'm pretty sure that the senior royals are very, very jumpy and upset right now over the Andrew accusations. It would not surprise me to hear that he's been being blackmailed by not just the Epstein slave debacle, but other behavior he'd rather keep hidden as well.
I don't think Epstein's clients shopped exclusively at his "stores" so there's more reveals coming.
Lime_Smoothie said…
I should think you're quite correct about Andrew, punkinseed - The British public aren't under any illusions about him, and he isn't exactly held in high regard.

What the RF cannot afford is for any reputational damage to The Queen, and William/Catherine. They have spent years rebuilding public confidence after the events of the 1990s. Charles has never been fully forgiven, and remains unpopular.

It will be very interesting to see how this plays out. The UK press are reporting any allegations against `Andrew fully since the release of the court papers, and the Epstein death, so if there was a D notice in place, it has been lifted or deemed unworkable.

Virginia Roberts claims to have been a sex slave and also said she was paid $15,000 for six weeks of accompanying men about Europe. The age of consent in most of the USA and the UK is 16 or 17. Only eight, I believe, states have the age of consent at 18. https://discover-the-truth.com/2013/09/09/age-of-consent-in-european-american-history/

It seems to me that she made the decision that it was more profitable to earn money on her back rather than work at McDonald's.

Anonymous said…
Unless the ages have changed recently, the age of consent is 16 in 31 of the states, and 17 in another 8 of them, and 18 in the remaining 11. So, while sexual slavery would be wrong regardless of age of the victim, and a grown man should not be having sex with a minor, I do not find a grown man having sex with a 17 year old that shocking (Paul Walker was having a relationship with a 16 yo girl, just one of many examples).

For the record, however: I find it offensive, contemptible, deplorable, disgusting, cringe-worthy, pathetic, and I've no sympathy for his pathetic ego and tiny penis, but I do not consider it shocking, nor do I consider that to be pedophilia nor does the DSM.

Pedophilia is a sexual attraction by someone at least 16 or at least 5 years older than the prepubescent child (approx 13 years or younger.) There is even a different category for the 11-15 yo fixation (hebephilia).

So while I think that what any of those men did with a 16-17 year old is contemptible, it's not as grotesque to me as it would be with a toddler or a 4 year old or an 8 year old, etc. I think that labeling everything under 18 as pedophilia minimizes the term in the same way that using money-laundering for any kind of financial fraud minimizes that crime, ditto for racist - not everything deplorable breaks into the outrageous categories, and I personally feel it's important to differentiate.

As for what a young girl decides is a good choice, I'm not going to argue about it. Our prefrontal cortex and decision-making skills are not fully developed until mid-20s, so I can't condemn a girl to whoredom at 16 or 17 - I don't think she could make an adult decision at that age. Maybe she had an awful family, no role models, and was raised with dysfunction that led to this, but at 16-17, it was the adults in the room who are responsible, not the girl IMO.

So I just found this . . Harper's Bazaar (one of the mags Smurkle pays well to write flattering stuff about her . . along with Cosmopolitan, HB is particularly sychophantic)
prints today that the 'list of demands' for the Fraudmore neighbors were a 'spoof' handed round by one of said neighbors for a 'joke'.

Sure . . . and the Harkle's parenting so far has been COMPLETELY NORMAL.

When issuing their first non-denial denial about this list of demands, the Harkles at first put out that it wasn't them, but rather a well-intentioned member of staff at Windsor, which is a bit curious, since H. and M. have a notoriously difficult time keeping staff . . but presumably, that staff member had put their hand up to being the source of the manifesto.

Now, suddenly, it's one of the neighbors having a larf at the Sussexes' expense.

Which is it now, Harkles? And by the way, how old is Archie again, and where are you keeping him, because he doesn't seem to occupy a whole gob of your time. Harry was soo anxious to become a father and yet, hasn't been at home since his son was born. Curious.

The list of thou shalt nots does have the air of a spoof . . I mean, who seriously would go up to the Sussexes and beg to babysit Archie? However, Meg's writing style is spoofy when she's going for 'serious, high-minded international humanitarian' so who can tell? If the Harkles hadn't made themselves such a target for ridicule by being unrelenting arschboles ever since they got engaged, there never would have been a list like this, no matter where it came from.

Neither of them get it: Become as you pretend to be and there will be no need for fake PR or all this secrecy . . . Good PR flows naturally from good deeds, and so does the goodwill of the people. Harkle and Farkle are trying to buy the image that they are not and desperately hide what they are. What kind of a life is this, and how long can it go on?

I thought there was a meeting where the rules were announced. So it couldn't have been a fake list.

Secondly, have you read Lainey today? she is trying to compare Epstein being invited to some birthday parties for the RF like Andrew, Anne, etc to Meghan's over the top baby shower in NYC! So Meghan is definitely going to try to use the Epstein scandal for her own use.

Except, Meghan, you don't change people's opinions about something by comparing them to another event. People formulate first impressions quickly when they read, see or hear about something. The subconscious mind is implicated, and logical comparisons afterwards don't change these. It is best to keep your behaviour reasonable and remember the dictum "You don't get another opportunity to make a first impression" . Sales people know this and use it to influence people. You just aren't that smart if you are trying to influence people by going against the ways that the human mind works and that are available in any two bit sales manual.

Thank you. When I hear "pedophelia", I think of children of, say, younger than 15 but mostly prepubescents.

If we accept maturity as prefrontal cortex maturation, I have read studies indicating that a man's prefrontal cortexes mature on average 11 years later than a woman's. From experiences with my own family (younger brothers, sigh), I firmly believe this.

My disgust with PA has less to do with having sex with a 17-year-old female (and where were her parent(s) when she was off on those six-week jaunts, BTW) than with him getting caught up in an obvious honey pot operation. Very poor judgement either way. I can't help but wondering about the quid pro quo for Bill and Hillary Clinton's visits. Then we segue over to the Google field trip complete with driving Maseratis and being helicoptered and yachted everywhere. This is obviously not about the environment. Google is buying influence.

We as a society have conflicting positions (no, pun not intended) when it comes to sex. Twenty three year old females that engage in consensual sex with 15-year-old boys are mostly slapped on the wrist and lose their teacher's licenses for having consensual sex with their male (or female) students, while a male teacher of the same age is sent to prison. This offends me. A serial predator is a serial predator.

Adolescent females can have access to birth control and, in some states, abortions without parental consent because we are told that they are old enough to make the decision for themselves. If their boyfriend is older than 18 and the girl lives in an 18-year-old age of consent state, he can go to prison because it is statutory rape and she was not capable of making the decision for herself due to her age. Which is it? Is she capable or not? (They had to make exceptions to statutory rape here when the boyfriend/girlfriend were close in age because so many young men were/are labeled as sexual predators for life.)

Perhaps in the future we will measure everybody's prefrontal cortex function before they are labeled as adults. I suspect many people will never have that functioning adult label. (Will they be free-ranged nonfunctional adults foisted on the unsuspecting public, or will they have their own special enclaves? How will Hollywood and political parents game the system for their children?) I think we have all run across that/those person(s) at work or in family that have a long history of spectacularly bad decision making. My gracious, think of the can of worms that would be opened if a particular demographic achieved the functional prefrontal cortex at a later age or a significant number never achieved it at all.

Do you think PH has a mature prefrontal cortex? How about MM? How about MM's family members?

As the historical age of consent that I posted above shows, historically there was no such concept as adolescence. You were a child until the age of 10 to 14 (depending on country) then BAM, you were an adult and expected to function as one. While I do not expect a 10-year-old child to function as an adult, I do expect an 18-year-old adult to be capable of completing an assigned task without an emotional support phone.
Hikari said…
Meghan's blown all the opportunities she is ever going to get to make a good first impression.

I no longer feel I can hold her solely responsible for the spectacular free fall from a cliff which Harry's reputation has been since he married her. She is a domineering personality, but he got into this charade for his own reasons, which still remain elusive. He's spent almost 35 years as a member of the royal family, and should be managing better than this.

It leaves me wondering about the extent of his intellectual difficulties & whether he hasn't had some sort of psychotic break. I think Markle is operating much as she has always done, in far lesser echelons of show business. Now that she's got a worldwide stage and access to more wealth and celebrity than she ever had before, she's drunk on the perceived power of it all. Not a stunning reaction from someone with her batch of internal drivers.

Harry has become a person I do not recognize at all. Given that his behavior and choice to bring this Megatroid virus into his family has cost him the primary relationship of his life with his only brother speaks volumes. Harry is blowing every positive relationship and every last little bit of goodwill he still enjoyed into smithereens. This is the real tragedy here.

Harry's Chinese astrological sign is the rat. They are notoriously charming but need to be first at all costs, and when they don't, they become vicious. They also interpret kindness as weakness. People born in the year of the rat also tend to have a rodent like appearance. He should also be very hardworking, so maybe astrology doesn't have all the answers. LOL

@Elle, your last paragraph is spot on!

I have a young teen, or almost adult (17) female child/relative, and men like this make me sick! They prey on these girls and boys (mostly from unhappy homes or difficult families) because they do not have the life experience to discern the predator's motives. Add the excitement of being initially showered with gifts, celebrities and an otherwise unattainable lifestyle and they could be easily manipulated. I am not saying ALL young women and men are like this, but predators prey on the ones who are. My niece is 17 and I would be horrified (as would her father) if she started seeing a man in his 30s! What could they possibly have in common, especially since 17yo are typically still in high school.

Hikari said…
Here's what I found on William (b. 1982), the Year of the Dog:

Dogs are loyal and honest, amiable and kind, cautious and prudent. Due to having a strong sense of loyalty and sincerity, Dogs will do everything for the person who they think is most important.

As Dogs are not good at communication, it is difficult for them to convey their thoughts to others. Therefore, Dogs tend to leave others with the impression that they have a stubborn personality.

When thrown into doubt, Dogs think the world is evil and complicated. Then they criticize sharply when making comments, and infer that all things are according to their pessimistic point of view.

************

Quite a mix here. Amiable and kind, yet critical and pessimistic, too. Maybe amiable and kind in the closest relationships and critical and pessimistic when those relationships are threatened.

Such as when one's brother brings home a woman who makes no bones about wanting to destroy one's way of life and family from the inside . . .

An amiable, kind, yet cautious and prudent personality who keeps his own counsel and is inherently distrustful of outside influences that will prove to be negative sounds like a good mix of characteristics for a King. Also, William's large, open face with a frequent smile and large teeth reminds me of a Dog. In the best possible way--I am, and have always been, a Dog lover.

Megatron's Sign is the Rooster (a fitting sign for her, I think. The most boastful and strident animal in the barnyard)

People born in a year of the Rooster are very observant. Hardworking, resourceful, courageous, and talented, ****Roosters are very confident in themselves.*****

Roosters are always active, amusing, and popular within a crowd. Roosters are *talkative, outspoken*, frank, open, honest, and loyal individuals. ****They like to be the center of attention***** and always appear attractive and beautiful.

Roosters are happiest when they are surrounded by others, whether at a party or just a social gathering. They enjoy the spotlight and will exhibit their charm on any occasion.

****Roosters expect others to listen to them while they speak, and can become agitated if they don't. Vain and boastful, Roosters like to brag about themselves and their accomplishments.*****

****Their behavior of continually seeking the unwavering attention of others annoys people around them at times.****

Wow, couldn't have been bettah!

Note: The Rooster's very worst possible match is with the Rat. No wonder the Harkle-Farkle show isn't working out, hey! Though if you add clinical NPD to any Sign it's going to skew the negative traits that much more to the worse.

@SwampWoman, lol about the sharks and cupcakes!!

I think historically, puberty (12-13), (for example a bar and bat mitzvahs) was the age a child was considered old enough to know right from wrong and be responsible for their actions. This would include taking part in adult activities in the household and/or trade your family was in. But now, laws (in the US anyway) require or disallow these for today's youth (school, age to work, drink, smoke, marry, etc). So it is very hard to compare youth from the past with the youth of the US today. Maybe that is why the youth today cannot seem to handle adulthood......they've been treated like children for too long, with no responsibility for actions and now cannot seem to accept the consequences.
I could go on but that is a conversation for another time and place.

So there is the requisite article about how he will be getting all kinds of money willed to him from his great-grandmother.  There were stories about Princess Anne as trustee (and not allowing earliest access to it all).  Whether or not any or all of this is true (there was money for him and/or other kids) has been debated with claims she actually died owing money with the Queen paying the debts to avoid scandal.  Don't know but I seem to remember that royal estates are shrouded from the public so we may not (ever) know.
