Amid the avalanche of new Coronavirus developments in the media this morning - and images of people all around Britain applauding NHS employees for their devotion to Coronavirus patients - comes the news that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have moved "permanently" to Los Angeles.
According to PEOPLE magazine, they are "living in a secluded compound and haven't ventured out."
California was always the Sussexes' ultimate destination: nobody ever really believed that their move to Canada was permanent, probably not even the local women's charities Meg used for photo ops a month or two ago.
All that was in question was the timing. And even though Meg reportedly told her ubiquitous "friends" who then told the media that she wouldn't return to the US while Donald Trump was president, that promise (like so many other promises) has been left behind in the service of expediency and publicity.

And even though Meg reportedly told her ubiquitous "friends" who then told the media that she wouldn't return to the US while Donald Trump was president, that promise (like so many other promises) has been left behind in the service of expediency and publicity.
Why now?
According to the Sun's Dan Wootton, who seems to have become one of Meg's preferred mouthpieces, the couple arrived in Los Angeles last week, "taking a private jet before the borders were shut."
Fleeing a safe and isolated island home to fly to one of the the USA's corona hotspots would seem to be a bit counter-intuitive, particularly as parents to a young and vulnerable baby.
According to Dan, the Sussexes made the move because "they have a big support network there. It's where their new team of Hollywood agents and PRs and business managers are based. Meghan has a lot of friends there and, of course, her mum Doria."
The real reasons
It seems more likely, however, that whomever really owned the Vancouver Island house probably wanted it for his own quarantine purposes (Coronavirus is becoming a problem in Russia) and hadn't expected the Sussex's 6-week "thinking period" beginning in November to last until late March.
The fact that the Sussexes' Royal credentials (and eligibility for Canadian security assistance) will be running out in four days was no doubt also a factor.
Their visa status in Canada is also unclear.
Meg's movie promotion
Meghan, at least, has a project to promote in California: a voiceover on a new Disney documentary about elephants.
In a Twitter announcement, Disney+ wrote "Disneynature's Elephant, an Original Movie narrated by Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, starts streaming April 3, only on #DisneyPlus."
How much promotion she can actually do, however, is in question. Streaming movies generally don't get gala premieres, and even if they did, much of Hollywood is shut down at the moment.
Meg could do interviews, but they would probably be done by telephone or Skype in these Coronavirus times, and she could have done that from anywhere.
Harry, meanwhile, has absolutely nothing to do in California.
Oprah, who appears to be his one business contact, is also in quarantine.
Are they together?
Which raises the question - are the three (or two) Sussexes together? The Sussexes' weak social media contribution to the NHS clapping campaign - a black background with yellow clapping emoji - raises questions.
All three Cambridge kids were shown clapping. Wouldn't this have been a great time to show off Archie?
Not doing so raises the usual questions - do they not have custody of him? Does he have (what is to them) an embarrassing disability? Does he exist at all?
Charitably, one could assume that there is perhaps an exclusive contract to show Archie off on the cover of Vogue US or Vanity Fair.
But then why not post a photo of Meghan and Harry clapping? There's nothing exclusive about them, and they clearly own a camera-enabled mobile phone.
Maybe Meg didn't have access to a hairdresser, but then hey, wear a hat or use a filter, or accept that being a bit messy in this situation would make you look accessible or even likable. It's the thought that counts.
Unless, of course, they couldn't be photographed together because they aren't together, and perhaps Harry (who would have no special visa status in the US) isn't in California at all.
What do you think?
Comments
You are completely correct. H/M withheld normal family photos and Archie photos so that one day they could merch out exclusive photos of their grand splash of an entrance to their new lives in Hollywood. They employ their own photographer who photographs them exactly how they want to present. They copyright these photos so they can charge for them. Megsy was dreaming of charging mega-bucks for these photos.
All the above can now be filed under epic fail, along with their treasured Instagram they just closed down. Yikes! Can matters be coming to a head for The ex-Royale Duo? As in a month or two we will find Megs and Arch bunking at Doria's and Homesick Harry back in the UK.
As in a month or two we will find Megs and Arch bunking at Doria's and Homesick Harry back in the UK.
@xxxxx: If a Sussex split ever happens, Archie will most likely be with Harry in the UK. He is a royal baby and I doubt the RF would just let him be in the hands of Malignant Meg. The reigning monarch is considered to have custody of all grandchildren, so as a great grandchild, HMTQ might not have custody, but I think they would win in a court battle.
If they lose, when HMTQ passes, Charles will be reigning monarch and can get his grandson back in the UK for a proper upbringing and not left in LA to be used as a prop by Meghan.
Couldn't they have renamed the Instagram account? "Harry and Meghan" or something? To walk away from 10 million followers (even if many of them were fake, and even more were hate-followers) seems extreme.
I don't think they want to get rid of SussexRoyal. My thought is that they are going to start a new Instagram, but will let SussexRoyal float out there for eternity. That Woman is going to keep Royal in some way shape or form come hell or high water.
We no longer pay for former presidents to have secret service, so why should we pay these two gifters? Bill Clinton was the last president to have lifetime security, and we are having problems securing our Democratic presidential nominees, but we are going to pay for these two dufuses? Hells to the no.
"We no longer pay for former presidents to have secret service, so why should we pay these two gifters? Bill Clinton was the last president to have lifetime security..."
Not true. While there was a period where former presidents didn't have lifetime SS protection, that changed under Obama in 2013.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Former_Presidents_Act
I do agree we shouldn't pay 1¢ towards protection for H&M.
Actually Barack Obama reinstated it and and Made SS Protection (get this!) it For Life.
From 1997 until 2013, legislation was in place limiting Secret Service Protection to former presidents and their spouses to a period of 10 years from the date the former president leaves office. President Barack Obama signed legislation on January 10, 2013, reversing this limit and reinstating lifetime protection.
Now, we know fo sure their communications will be managed by Sunshine Sachs and James Holt.

With regard to becoming an American citizen -- this website spells it out fairly clearly --
https://www.wikihow.com/Become-a-US-Citizen
The green card requirements might be an easy route for PH, but not the residency requirements. He has to demonstrate FIVE YEARS of residency, living at least 30 months during that time.
--You must have been a green card holder for the three years immediately before you apply for naturalization.
--You must have been a continuous resident for the three years before you apply and have been physically present in the U.S. for at least eighteen months.
--You must have lived in a marriage with your U.S. citizen spouse during the three years. Your spouse must have been a citizen during the entire time.
--You must have lived within the state or USCIS district for at least three months before you file your application.
--You must have entered the country legally. For example, you can’t be in the United States illegally and get citizenship simply because you married a citizen.
>>>The reigning monarch is considered to have custody of all grandchildren, so as a great grandchild, HMTQ might not have custody, but I think they would win in a court battle.<<<
Every time someone brings this up I mention the Hague Convention (both the US and UK are signatories) and posters here don't seem to consider this International law. This convention provides for the case of a parent taking a child without consent of the other party and goes to another country to find a more favorable court. I won't presume to be any expert but I think International law would preempt an ancient British law (allowing the Monarch to have custody) and would prevent Harry from absconding with Archie. I base this on assuming Meg and them establish their home in Calif, and she files first in a Calif. court for custody.
"""The Convention provides that the removal or retention of a child is "wrongful" whenever:
a. It is in breach of rights of custody attributed to a person, an institution or any other body, either jointly or alone, under the law of the State in which the child was habitually resident immediately before the removal or retention; and b. at the time of removal or retention those rights were actually exercised, either jointly or alone, or would have been so exercised but for the removal or retention.
These rights of custody may arise by operation of law or by reason of a judicial or administrative decision, or by reason of an agreement having legal effect under the law of the country of habitual residence.[5]
From the Convention's standpoint, the removal of a child by one of the joint holders without the consent of the other, is ... wrongful, and this wrongfulness derives in this particular case, not from some action in breach of a particular law, but from the fact that such action has disregarded the rights of the other parent which are also protected by law, and has interfered with their normal exercise.[6]"""
Besides the optics of a child being wrenched from the custody of the mother without considering the 'best interests of the child' seems improbable. However, perhaps Harry would have evidence against Megs but again, it has to be handled according to law. Generally jurisdiction of the court is where the child resides.
If a Sussex split ever happens, Archie will most likely be with Harry in the UK. He is a royal baby and I doubt the RF would just let him be in the hands of Malignant Meg. The reigning monarch is considered to have custody of all grandchildren, so as a great grandchild, HMTQ might not have custody, but I think they would win in a court battle.
You refer to old laws, rules and customs that date back hundreds of years. I cannot see this Queen or Charles having the cojones to try and enforce this. Due to Megsy's race card and due to the woman being the preferred custodial parent in a separation.
I see public sentiment running against the BRF if the BRF tries to wrest Archie (faux or not) from his mother. The UK Daily Mail would be hair on fire for weeks!
Insofar as British titles mean nothing to Americans, Harry would have to otherwise demonstrate that he has some kind of diplomatic status, which he clearly does not.
From Blind gossip:
Let’s say you have an Instagram account.
Let’s say you are also fortunate enough to have a lot of followers.
What happens if you have to move to a new Instagram account? Will Instagram move your followers to your new account?
The answer is “No.”
We stopped doing that a couple of years ago. Now we tell users to simply put a note on their old account instructing followers to follow them at their new account.
This married celebrity couple is in exactly that situation right now. They need boost their social media numbers as fast as possible to start making money.
So they are not taking no for an answer!
We were contacted by their representative asking us to make an exception in their case. Their argument was that this was an exceptional couple in an exceptional circumstance and that it would be to Instagram’s benefit to do this.
We don’t know if Instagram will comply.
But my, my, my! Someone is certainly full of me me me exceptionalism!
Of course the couple will deny it.
In their new, “independent” lifestyle, they would never ask anyone else to fund them… or protect them… or make any kind of exception for them!
What? All three?
Naturalization is the only way for Harry to become a US citizen. I included the oath he'd have to take in my earlier post. The one where he must disavow loyalty to foreign sovereigns.
I believe it would take only 3 years not 5 since he is married to a US citizen (although that clock starts to run only when they've been married 3 years.) Also not sure Harry could pass the civics tests (although it's pretty basic)
Paths to citizenship besides naturalization
1. Birthright (born here)
2. Derived (not born here but at least one parent is a citizen. Probably applies to Archie unless he's a doll.)
3. Acquired (For children under 18 in the US legally, if a parent becomes a naturalized citizen, the child may "acquire" citizenship if certain conditions hold)
such a glut of articles about a couple with ....nothing.
"2. Derived (not born here but at least one parent is a citizen. Probably applies to Archie unless he's a doll.)
I believe Harry's citizenship is in question, not Fauxchie. Harry must ride Meghan's coattails to get a green card, let alone naturalization, regardless of children. The laws on that are still in flux.
......plus that Meghan will adapt easier because she is like a shape shifter article.
_____________________________________________
That shape-shifter stuff will come back to haunt her, mark my words. She has not bothered to hide it. No morals. No ethics. Only naked, animal, cunning survivalism on the same order as the Nazis in WWII, regardless of who gets hurt.
"....due to the woman being the preferred custodial parent in a separation."
Unbelievable as it may sound that it is actually generally a father (who files for custody) who statistically is more successful in getting custody of children. This is for cases in states where there is no preference given (pretty much all except maybe Louisiana where they have Napoleonic code perhaps). Now there are many states who threw out a joint custody preference (from the 80's) such as Calif.
I did a lot of research (great reference book 'Mothers on Trial) during my custody battle while representing myself during a hard fought custody battle. The reason why usually is that a father will prevail is mainly because they have the better resources (more money to provide a stable home, adequate childcare, greater income to provide for child's expenses, etc..). Of course in any case some factors may prohibit men if they have a history of domestic violence.
How I got my Nutty name...Crumpet, a small pancake or batter cooked in a pan which used a crampet or metal ring to surround the batter [I am trying to become more like the metal ring, as opposed to just batter as I move thru life, it is hard to do for me] I took a bite into my first crumpet when I lived in Belfast, but now am back in the US PNW. Thank you, Nutties!
That is a wonderful idea. JH needs to learn a work ethic for sure!
The orginal Lt. Uhura really DID have grace and elegance, didn't she? I always thought she was so beautiful and sophisticated.
I agree but said "probably" about Archie because there are questions about his general status. For example, if it was a surrogate birth, adoption would be required under UK law. But I agree Harry's situation is the iffy one. But really, I kind of doubt he's chomping at the bit to become a US citizen anyway.

Indeed she did. The actress, Nichelle Nichols, almost quit the show, but none other than Dr. Martin Luther King urged her to stay on and be a role model.
She did, and I am so glad. The actress was almost as lovely as the character she played :)
Always will be my role model :)

You are right. Fauxchie's status will always be in limbo, I'm thinking.
Do you get it people? They classify themselves as the "good in the world". That is what the wording says.
Megalomania or delusions of grandeur?
Karma and reincarnation--if MM came back... I think a bee [not to disparage bees]. Not the Queen, but a lowly worker bee, a female bee that lacks the reproductive capacity of the Queen.
Thank you so much for the info., much appreciated. I’m British, so was curious about the variants on gaining an American citizenship. π€
Coronavirus: the great leveller. Infecting princes and prime ministers, making hermits of most, hushing the concrete council estate and the millionaires’ leafy square. And yet some still seem to soar above it all. Last week it was reported that, just before Trudeau and Trump closed the longest border in the world, a private jet soared over it, bearing our lately departed Duke and Duchess of Sussex from their hideout in Canada to their new home in California.
It is said that the couple are living in a compound near Hollywood, where they plan to settle permanently. Speaking of their hasty flight, a source declared that because “the borders were closing and flights were stopping”, Harry and Meghan “had to get out”, making Canada sound more like a chaotic war zone than a country of gentle folk and maple syrup pancakes.
The timing of this move might delicately be described as tactless. As Prince Charles fights Covid-19, as hundreds die and thousands grieve, and millions suffer distress and financial uncertainty; as a quarter of the world’s population are allowed little further than their own front door, the duke and duchess chose this moment to display their wealth and the freedom it can buy, to sever ties more definitively from crown and Commonwealth, to further their own interests.
Indeed, the timing is so crass that we have to wonder whether it was deliberate. Perhaps, to paraphrase that odious line coined on 9/11, the Sussexes thought this pandemic was “a good time to bury difficult news”? If this was the rationale, it was entirely wrong. Making the move to California, and making it now, only inflames the irritation many feel over the couple’s actions in recent months.
I am one of those who thought the union of Harry and Meghan an exciting thing for our country. The woman is beautiful, charismatic, blessed with Cleopatra-like poise. She glows as though lit from within by 1,000 watts. Harry’s discovery of Meghan seemed as great a boon to Britain as the uncovering of a fresh field of oil in the North Sea. Then came Megxit part 1: a disappointing rejection of this nation by those who had been offered all its riches on a plate. Still, we could find it in our hearts to understand their need for a life away from the spotlight; we could give them credit for staying within the Commonwealth, and we could be hopeful about their pledge to spend a lot of time in Britain.
According to the Times report on the couple’s move, “the royal family is said to be disappointed that Prince Harry and Meghan have not returned to Britain to perform a supportive role.” Disappointed — exquisite understatement! The word carries the weight of 100 courtiers’ raised eyebrows, and the Queen’s own quiet despair. The theme of Her Majesty’s reign has been humility over haughtiness; whenever possible you stand beside your people, not above them. She learnt that from her mother, who insisted that she and King George VI stayed at Buckingham Palace during the Blitz, and who was “glad” when the Luftwaffe bombed the palace because it meant she could “look the East End in the face”.
Second Subaltern Elizabeth Windsor donned overalls in the Auxiliary Territorial Service and learned how to drive military trucks alongside other patriotic teenage girls. This is the record, so when her recent statement on coronavirus assured that “my family and I stand ready to play our part”, we knew she meant it. To such a woman, the decision of Harry and Meghan to move to California at this time must beggar belief. Showing solidarity through this crisis would not mean risking their lives or even leaving their home; just hunkering down at Frogmore Cottage and ordering in Deliveroo would have been enough for now, with perhaps a few hospital visits to praise NHS staff later on.
There will be those who argue that the couple have no obligation to this country at all, because their royal “contract” is now up. But the deal the Queen reached with the Sussexes left them with royal titles to enjoy, their security bill footed, the use of Frogmore Cottage — and thus a reasonable expectation that even though they might not be cutting ribbons on rainy days in Wigan, they would show some solidarity in a time of national crisis.
Toes across the nation curled recently when footage emerged from last year’s The Lion King premiere showing Prince Harry telling a stunned Disney boss that his wife was available for voiceover work. Last week we saw the result, as the studio released the trailer for a new wildlife documentary voiced by “Meghan, Duchess of Sussex”. Disney’s writers didn’t miss a trick in the film’s tagline: “Powerful stories that show just how far family can take you.” Indeed.
This is what rankles about the Sussexes. Not, for goodness sake, the duchess’s race. Not her sex. It is the hypocrisy. While they have publicly and rather disrespectfully rejected the “shackles” of being British royals, they are only too happy to exploit the status that comes with it. But the price for the Dior and diamonds and adulation should be duty. It should be showing solidarity when the nation needs it, not sweeping in only for a few grand occasions. Contrast their behaviour with that of William and Kate, who have lent their weight to Public Health England’s campaign to protect people’s mental health during the coronavirus crisis.
Still, the Sussexes have made their choice. By making this move, at this time, the break with the royal family feels decisive. There is a loose end, though. We must hope that as they embark on their new lives, Harry and Meghan do the decent thing and seek to cover their own security costs. For Britain to maintain protection for the US-based couple would always have been unpopular; in the light of the coronavirus hit on our economy it is inconceivable. If the Sussexes are no longer servants of the British people, they should no longer expect to be supported by us either. -Fin-
Yes I did see the oath, but I didn’t know/realise it was for naturalisation citizenship. I didn’t know that a person who had a royal or hereditary etc., title would have to renounce it under ‘all’ circumstances. You’ve clarified the circumstances and thank you for that. π€
Apparently they are pressing Instagram to simply move all their followers to the new account. Instagram is not doing this, it is against the rules. Harkles claim they are special.
But I suspect Insta will cave in.

Titles, naturalization, green cards etc..
JH can live in the US for many years without going for naturalization with just a green card--valid for 10 years and can be renewed easily. After he gets his green card [which should take on avg 6 months, maybe less for him, maybe more with the corona backlog], as long as he can show employment or ability to support he will be okay with a green card.
JH will not be the first prince to parade around in Hollywood. Prince Frederic von Anhalt, Duke of Saxony and Westphalia, Count of Ascania bought his title [initially he bought his title from the Principality of Sealand, a fake country which exists on an almost abandonded platform off the coast of England] and showed up in a rented limo, with rented body guards and rented medals on his chest and bagged himself a fading star, Zsa Zsa Gabor, her ninth and final husband. Zsa Zsa finally got to be royalty [her mother's dream] and the "Prince" was able to live in the lifestyle he wanted.
Perhaps, MM was inspired by this story...
"Harry has given up on real life for his rebellious American wife, but his sacrifice is exploding in his face.
"Their marriage is tense, they could be at a breaking point."

Many thanks is for this. I had heard about the 10 year thing years ago, which is why I was confused when I read the citizenship info., on here. π€
However with Harry, acquiring the Green Card is going to be a challenge surely, what work will he do apart from being Megsy’s lapdog and handbag holder? π
Speaking from experience, one can get into a chaotic war with a rutting moose, or overly-protective mother beaver, but that is quite rare.
Honestly, these two are just ridiculous. They aren't even mildly credible, or amusing in their lack or credibility. They are an insult to the human race. I am thrilled that they have left but commiserate with our friends to the South.
Saint Gabriel Brutus Caesar was 180 lbs of drooling shedding St Bernard. He allowed me to live in his house because I could open the refrigerator and drive him to the ice cream store. He hated dog food so I cooked 10 lb hunks of beef for him and used that to disguise the dry dog food and veggies that he needed too. He owned me rather than the other way around. Yes, I did put a tea towel on the fridge handle so he could grab it in his huge maw and open the door but he preferred I do it for him. Butter left out in the counter didn’t stand a chance nor did my chocolate stash in the bedside table. He crossed the Rainbow Bridge in 2007 and I still miss him desperately despite having three other Saint since. Hint: any St Bernard breeders out there-in in the process of buying another house with a yard and these is no slobber or dog hair in any of my possessions any longer. I have an empty spot in my heart that needs doggy cuddles. I have been Gabes Human since 1995.
Add on the fact that he is not a normal citizen, therefore he will receive preferential treatment. He'll be just fine.
Buckingham Palace Will No Longer Comment on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
https://www.townandcountrymag.com/society/tradition/a31979013/buckingham-palace-meghan-markle-prince-harry-no-longer-comment/
I guess we knew this but it's still something to see it in print. Does this mean in ALL circumstances, no matter how crazy it gets? I guess so. The BRF is impregnable where this kind of thing is concerned. Tremendous self-control but at an institutional level.
Isn't it supposed to be a year long "transitional" period? Buck Palace didn't waste any time distancing from the duo already.
Not that they commented much before. The usual refrain was "Buckingham Palace refused to comment".
I think you’ve hit the nail on the head, and I totally agree.
Yes, the Palace rarely comments anyway, but they seem to be making of point of this, which is not like them. These things are usually unsaid.
Midnight now. The last day begins. How long can they survive in their trial period I wonder, without admitting surrender in some way? Although of course they are already in surrender as they still need Harry's daddy's money.
The Harry Markle Blog mentioned some Duchy of Cornwall rents are being increased. If so, I hope this is reconsidered given Covid-19 and the massive financial hit so many are taking. PC seemed to go out of his way to help tenants in that Duchy of Cornwall documentary and there seemed to be genuine respect for him from tenants, so it would be yet another sad and wicked - yes wicked - thing to lay at the Harkles door if so. It could only be because of their continued, unrealistic and unjustifiable demands. But that's for PC to sort out. The remedy is in his hands. We're all watching him.
https://harrymarkle.wordpress.com/2020/03/30/the-end-of-sussex-royal-cui-bono/
Yes I agree entirely. After all, the royal family has never had to deal with a couple like this before. I think if by chance Wallis Simpson could be transplanted to the 21st-century, she would still have kept quiet and behaved properly. After all she desperately tried to extract herself as Edward VIII was hurtling towards abdication. Meghan would have been dragging him down even faster so she could then swan around saying that her husband gave up an empire for her, while laying plans to get half the money he'd stashed away before dumping him. Could you imagine Meghan putting up with decades of boredom, supporting her husband through a horrible terminal illness and only getting civilised levels of publicity throughout? Meghan's a barracuda.
I was thinking a few nights ago, in tremendous financial uncertainty due to Covid-19 with a house move suspended between exchange and completion, that I still wouldn't change places with the Harkles, for all their wealth. That's quite something to realise. How many of you would change places with them in their situation? Of course we wouldn't have got into that situation in the first place, but it does bear thinking about. To have converted all that privilege and stability - knowing you would never be homeless, never be unemployed, always have wonderful food and comfort and medical care, able to travel the world - into what is really quite a scary situation. Without family, less protection, less deference, financial insecurity (despite the trust funds because Meghan will spend it ALL) and the laughing stock of the world. All accomplished in less than two years.
They will be gone after the COVID-19 crisis.
They have no idea of what they are doing. Everything is done on the fly.

"An Express.co.uk poll of more than 15,000 people has found nine-in-ten respondents do not care about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex now they have abandoned the UK.
The survey conducted on Monday March 30 between 1.40pm and 10pm asked 15,114 people “Do you care about Meghan and Harry now that they live abroad?”
A huge 96 percent (14,393) of people had little interest in the royal couple and voted no.
Just three percent (578) of people were concerned with the life of Meghan and Harry and votes yes.
Meanwhile one percent (143) of participants remained undecided and voted don’t know.

"It really doesn't matter in the States. Americans appear to have some good natured curiosity towards "real" royals who live outside of USA with their subject and only visit occasionally.
"Call me Harry" will be interesting for about five min for he was born real prince. Megsy? Nah.
As an American I agree 100%, I'm the only person I know who cares about these twats.
However, I slightly disagree with a lot of you about Harry's security (Just Harry) - as our very close ally and buddy, I believe we owe the UK the small courtesy of looking out for their prince boy while he is on our soil. I feel a bit strongly about this. I feel there should be some responsibility to ensure he is at least ... watched or protected or something.
I don't care about Meghan.
But yeah, as a close ally I do think we should at least keep some tabs on him or something.
I disagree with you about the obligation of the US to provide security for JH. He willingly made his uncomfortable bed with Rach. Now they will have to reap what they have sown. It would be hard for me to think of any behavior that is worse than how those two have treated their families. They have been deceitful and dishonest to many including the British people. They have stomped all over the hospitality of the Canadian people. Even though it appeared that Rach was very nervous about them accepting the Harkles. Remember Rach's sweaty pits that day?
They are users. The US should not be used by these two grifters.
My 2 cents.
A month or two ago, many people were insulted, angered, chopping at their bits to tell the Praying Mantis and her headless loser where they can stuff iI. In the past two or so days, the tide (not the Tide detergent that is being hoarded by the headless Hirney and his Green Mantis) has turned towards normal discussion regarding abnormal weirdos. What are their purpose in our lives? Why should anybody, including Chuck and his desperate Cornish tenants, or the Queen, who needs to taken less pounds from taxpAyers, givea cent to these conniving Penguins?
>>>as our very close ally and buddy, I believe we owe the UK the small courtesy of looking out for their prince boy while he is on our soil. I feel a bit strongly about this. I feel there should be some responsibility to ensure he is at least ... watched or protected or something.<<<
Let's see as our ally, I think the Queen will completely understand our position, afterall her commonwealth country Did Not want to fund the 'their prince boy'. With the polls coming out it seems the UK public feels strongly about not caring to see them go (and its little prince boy's own subjects). So who are we to override the sentiment of the UK public and their disinterest.
Surely the Queen with her vast millions can take care of her little 'prince boy'. Oh and of Course Papa Charles should provide for his little son again and again and again if the kittle 'prince boy' is too immature to take responsibility. Afterall the Queen as monarch and Charles as King in the future should respect the will of our supreme leader, the POTUS. Yes good allies should respect our needs and we can sure use those millions on our people certainly more so in these financially trying times.
Hmmmm, guess you might not have heard how bad off Calif is and some inmates are being released early. Our Law Enforcement Officers are paid for by taxpayers and they should receive the benefit of their monetary support rather than two cheap-skate Millionaires get their security bills paid. Harry needs to grow-up and pay his way in life. The UK does not pay for our A-list celebrities security
I guess I feel strongly about this just like @Henrietta's sickening post yesterday which was more outrageous with her reasons why we should pay for the Suchless Pair. I want to puke.

Meghan and Harry's LA move may be their worst yet
CELIA WALDEN
Part 1:
Fun fact: Petra Manor – the 12,249 sq. ft, £15 million Malibu mansion that Meghan and Harry are said to be “smitten by” – was once occupied by Kylie Jenner.
That’s the lilo-lipped youngest member of the Kardashian clan, should your pop culture need refreshing, a 22-year-old cosmetic “entrepreneur” whose inspirational quotes include: “I would want to hopefully start more businesses, and just be, like, a businesswoman.”
Why it should matter that the Sussexes would prefer to live there, and in LA, than in a historic British, Grade II country home commissioned by Queen Charlotte in 1801 – a royal retreat previously occupied by the father of novelist Henry James, whose own inspirational quotes included: “Three things in human life are important: the first is to be kind; the second is to be kind; and the third is to be kind” – I don’t know.
But I do know why the revelation that Meghan and Harry had “left Canada and are now settled in LA” on Friday has prompted the annoyance it has.
It is just annoyance; our anger currently being reserved for the spherical particle with a “corona” of spikes that’s killing tens of thousands across the world and has brought our lives to a standstill. Only not Harry and Meghan, you understand, who chose this moment to leave the Vancouver smokescreen of a bolthole they had been residing in since Megxit, and hop on a private jet to the place that had been their final destination all along: Hollywood.
It felt sneaky, because it was sneaky, like so many of the soon-to-be-ex royals’ actions – from the setting up of their own breakaway Royal faction and the assertion that they wanted to “step back” (and not forward, into a carefully choreographed and lucrative limelight of their own choosing), to the blurring of their intention “to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America”.
Why not just come out and say it? Because, as I wrote in this very column three months ago: “If you rephrase that statement ‘We’ve had enough – we’re off to La La Land’, it confirms every ruthless social-climbing, celebrity-seeking stereotype Meghan has worked hard to rebut.”
Only in Los Angeles, I pointed out, can Meghan not so much have her cake and eat it, as scoop off the icing and cast the boring, dry part aside. Only there, can the couple ditch the duty and the criticism, whilst retaining all the status and the perks. Celebrity hypocrisy, it’s important to understand, isn’t just accepted in LA but de rigueur.
Only they’d overlooked one thing: namely that the President of the US has the memory of an elephant and the petulance of a toddler. He wasn’t about to forget Meghan calling him “divisive” and “misogynistic” on a talk show in 2016, just as he wasn’t about to forget the former actress’s assertion that she could never live in a Trumpian America.
So when he took to Twitter on Sunday to tell the world that, despite being “a great friend and admirer of the Queen & the United Kingdom […] the US will not pay for [Harry and Meghan’s] security protection” – adding for emphasis: “They must pay!” – it was pretty clear that POTUS wasn’t just talking about the estimated £8 million-a-year bill that has hitherto been covered by the British taxpayer.
I am a great friend and admirer of the Queen & the United Kingdom. It was reported that Harry and Meghan, who left the Kingdom, would reside permanently in Canada. Now they have left Canada for the U.S. however, the U.S. will not pay for their security protection. They must pay!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 29, 2020
The couple hit back yesterday, saying they didn’t expect the US to pay, and that “privately funded security arrangements have been made”. But their pique was as obvious as it had been in their infamous response to the Queen telling them they could no longer sell themselves as “Royal” after stepping down.
That ban comes into force tomorrow, when the Duke and Duchess officially cease to be working royals. But anyone thinking this will impact either the couple’s social standing or their earning capacity is wrong. It’s not simply about who you are in LA, but who you know – and how good a performer you’ve proved yourself to be.
So just as a hefty percentage of Angelenos would probably curtsey to both Dame Helen Mirren and Olivia Colman, convinced that something Queen-like or royal must have rubbed off on them, people will continue to bow and curtsey to the Sussexes as they make their pots of cash and settle into the Malibu home that boasts “an enormous dedicated theatre room”, “full-size dance studio”, “culinary wonder” of a kitchen, and “vast pool and pool-side cabana”.
But as the pair are branded “distant memories” in the UK by royal biographer Penny Junor - in stark contrast to the other members of the royal family, who are helping to combat the deadly coronavirus pandemic – and Canada mourns what it is branding “Megxit 2” (“It’s Canada that deserves to feel ‘stunned and horrified’,” the Toronto Star remarked after their hasty departure) – it seems unlikely that there won’t be more Megxits to come.
What a wimp we are talking about. Wimp. Wimp.,Wimp... liar, cheater, coward, loser. COWARD, CHEATER, LOSER. WIMP. TWAT. TWITl
Go home, you headless insect.
>>>We all agree here that Harry needs to be protected no matter where he goes..."
I don't agree. If Bill Gates can go about walking in public without security then Harry can, and Meghan can too. Lot's of celebrities go without security. I know I am minimizing it but egads, why would it take original estimate 20 million, then 8-10 million now just 4 million???? I wonder if Harry and Meg was trying to pull a scam and get $20 million and pocket a bunch of cash and only use 4 million.
Besides who would want to kidnap a trollop like Meghan...can you imagine the grating voice screaming and then Archie is just a rubber Realborn doll. Harry if kidnap would probably die of freight the wimp that he is and what would kidnappers get for a dead victim. Unfortunately, we are going to be reading about these two awful human beings for quite a long time here in the US. Our media unlike the civil restrained UK media will report on anything as banal as Meghan bunions and Harry farting in public. (This is tongue-in-check as I do not wish them any harm whatsoever.)
It's me. I will have to look up who Carol Baskin is...funny coincidence, Carol is my first name.
PRINCE Harry is hiring a crack team of former SAS soldiers to keep his family safe.
The unit will provide protection for him, wife Meghan and baby Archie after their move to LA.

The couple chose from a shortlist of two firms whose staff have guarded superstars including Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman and Madonna, as well as senior politicians and diplomats.
The Sun has agreed not to name those guarding the couple due to safety concerns.
A source said: “It doesn’t come cheap — in the region of £400 per operative per day, which will quickly add up with a team on hand around the clock.
“The overall bill will be many tens of thousands of pounds, but Harry and Meghan are huge celebrities, at least on par with the biggest A-listers in the world.
Yes I agree with you in theory but there have been other British royalty living in Canada (Prince Andrew when young) and I believe it was Princess Beatrice in NYC.
Additionally; "Princess Madeleine of Sweden announced this week that she and her husband, Christopher O'Neill, are moving to Florida with their preschool-aged children (August 4, 2018)."
Many Saudi Arabian Princes have gotten a college education in American (and surely they might have security threats).
Harry's involvement in the military has been over-hyped I think. I don't think he was any war hero/
Audie Murphy was the most decorated US war hero of WWII and he came home and Famously starred in many movies (he was from the area where I live now) and he lived without security not fearing the Germans were going to kill him after the war's end.
So approx. 400 UK = $492.agent/day x 3 = $1,476/day x 365 = Only $538,740
If I did it right that comes to only a little more than 1/2 million dollars not $8-20 million dollars first mentioned. Geesh, the Harkles was trying to scam us.
That wasn't even $4 million dollars they are saying they need now. What money grubbing liars!
Besides who would want to kidnap a trollop like Meghan...can you imagine the grating voice screaming and then Archie is just a rubber Realborn doll.
CatEyes you win tonight for the first pairing of Meghan and trollop in this blog. Trollop has such a great sound to it. It's an oldie, no millennial or under 30 something has ever seen it used.
They chose their life as it is now. They are not protected people, merely a couple who is jobless in a world at crisis. Let them have what they said wanted- to be financially independent. With financial independence comes a bill for their personal protection force. Either Charles pays or the Harkles do. If they cant afford it, well, that's a part of financial independence, too.
Unfortunately, I think there will be plenty of hangers-on who will hope that a little bit or royalty will rub off on them in Hollywood. A studio, production company or just very wealthy Hollywood types people like Ellen, the Clooneys, and Oprah and Gayle will pull strings behind the scenes to get MM work and/or monetary backers for their new mansion and their glitzy lifestyle. They aren't going to starve unless the pate, champagne and caviar run out.
Looking at your mathematics, is the X3 for three agents a day on 8-hour shifts or is it for three agents, one each for Just Harry, MM and Archie? Every time they split up, two or three agents will be needed, and they never seem to all be in the same place at the same time.
At this point, they are such a train wreck, it's hard to look away. I notice the above stars aren't dumb enough to flout their opulent wealth while they self quarantine either like some other dummy celebs. People are not amused and resentment is building. This virus has really highlighted wealthy vs the peasants. I would love to see some big donations coming from the above mentioned that could go to our cash strapped hospitals. I know of only a few. Reese was one. I think Simon C gave something. Donations. That is what we should be calling for
Giant cuke- that is so funny! Thanks for the laugh. Hard to come by these days.
I’m going to have to disagree. I think Meghan will be “pregnant” again soon for multiple reasons.
She’ll be 39 in early August. Getting pregnant again will generate media interest again, especially regarding her likely decision to give birth in the US as a way to assert narcissistic control and thumb her nose at all of those meanies in the RF and the UK public.
And: If one of her eggs was actually used in the conception of Archie in whatever manner he arrived on earth, her number of eggs is dwindling by tens of thousands each month, plus as every month passes, the genetic material in each egg is degrading and the chances for having either a child with an intellectual disability or one of a myriad of other genetically-linked disorders that can result from damaged DNA in an old egg.
She’s got a time factor to think about. Yes, women have healthy babies into their 40s. But there are also greater chances for problems even if a baby appears healthy in all the prenatal testing, there are some problems you can’t test for, such as autism.
Lastly: A second baby, especially a dual citizen child born in the US, gives Meghan a spare prop for merching, especially if its a girl, another insurance policy, and bargaining chip number two she can weaponize just as she weaponized Archie by not bringing him to London for their final round of appearances so as to punish HMTQ and Charles. In her warped mind, she likely got a big dose of narcissistic fuel by asserting control over the Queen of England and the Prince of Wales as a parting shot.
But
Like Geffen and his yacht. How blind and self-absorbed can he be?
I agree wholeheartedly. Donations should be rolling in from these wealthy people. It has become a class war, hasn't it, down to who gets tested first.
which she said.)
Anyway, I almost punched the air and shouted `Yes!'
They moved swiftly on to the report that PW wants to go back to the Air Ambulance service. The news was welcomed.
I don't think she will dump Just Harry now or in the near future, either. He is her meal-ticket and provides all of the inroads to the money and fame she is seeking. Without him, she is less than nothing. Hollywood and the business world wouldn't even look at her. She needs him now for her world domination plan.
As for another baby, I think she will have another, only because of the reasons you mentioned- a girl for merching purposes and to flaunt her bump around Hollywood for the press. She will think she needs and heir and a spare.
The only reason she would dump Just Harry right now is if a very wealthy man came into the picture, one with billions. She would jump at that. We all know that she finds her next mark before she ends the relationship with the last one. That's her MO.
If things get tough, and she isn't getting anywhere in business or Hollywood, I think she would get pregnant again, dump Harry and lumber around Hollywood, saying that HE dumped her. That would be huge news that she would make money on, while she hides the billionaire until the time is right to introduce her "new love" to the public.
Even with a billionaire husband, she still needs that adoration fix, and would still work toward world domination and a Hollywood career. She just can't help herself. She will try to upstage the importance of the billionaire. I think she will end up with more ex-husbands than Elizabeth Taylor.
I agree. People won't forget. They are vulgar and demented to push this in people's faces during this time. I also read, no idea if it's true, that Trump is sending supplies to Italy.
I feel for them, but we don't even have enough masks to go around. So what gives?

Thank you and Magatha, as well as many other Nutties, for providing some much needed humor!
Harry has been hunting for most of his life. Why not just buy him a rifle, and he can sit on a rocking chair on the front porch and guard the mansion and his family, Beverly Hillbillies-style!

Every `setting up your own business' seminar I've ever been to has insisted that one does a SWOT analysis at the start:
Strengths - Weaknesses - Opportunities - Threats.
Completely blinded by the fantasy `Opportunities', they ignored the rest...
What a pair of tossers.
RPOs are paid out of the Metropolitan Police budget. This is allowed for in Government funding ie sourced from taxpayer. Anything over and above that impacts on funding for policing London and the Met has said, very firmly, that they can't afford it.
My suggestion would be:
1.Call H home, with `Archie' if he has any existence beyond being a stuffed siren-suit, assisted by US refusing him any sort of residential status. Then keep him out of public view/mischief by whatever means necessary.
2.But only if She is left behind (rescind any UK visa). Let her live as an `ordinary' US citizen and take the consequences she's brought on herself.
If H refuses to leave her and is allowed to stay in US. they're on their own.
The public mood is heading towards a general `Let them lie on the bed they've made for themselves'.
Or will she have to look for some rich sheikh? That could be very entertaining.
Karma is a bitch.
My money’s on Elon Musk.
Every day that passes makes it all the more obvious that anyone she pairs up with will be an international laughing stock. Harry's 'royal' gilt is wearing off fast thanks to her. People can see where the real British royalty are. They're in Britain.
It's unclear to me exactly how many agents they need. Obviously more when they aren't all in one place or even in one country. But the previous estimates on the cost of Metro Police RPOs contained costs a SAS team wouldn't so it makes sense @CatEyes' estimate is lower than what had been publicized.
When RPOs travel abroad (like to Canada), their transportation back and forth, their meals, and their daily lodging has to be paid for. That's true even if the royal family is going on a relatively brief vacation as it would be if the royal is relocating to a new country. And those costs are passed on to the taxpayer. When H&M travel, whether within the US or abroad, I'm sure they'll have additional expenses with the SAS team too.
"Oh wow! THIS will be the *thing*!!!

Let's keep our eyes on the prize.
Your sentiment that US has to keep an eye on Harry because UK is an ally does you honor. You must be a very decent person. My great concern is Harry will not value it. In his eyes he is perpetually wronged by everybody. The duo insulted UK, then Africa, then Canada. They will do this to USA too. They do not deserve good will.
@Happy Days.
Yes, she might get pregnant to keep attention and merching (horrible!), especially now when virus cut all other options for attention. But consider this: "pregnancy" will severely limit her value as actress for at least nine months, may be more. She is nearing 40, a fight to keep in shape will not be easy. Another fake pregnancy still requires a big bump used for several months. What does she have on her plate? Ingenue in cable show, 1 min sex scene, voice over clawed from Dinsney? Not much to show in Hollywood for a 40 years old former obscure "influencer".
Her best bet is "humanitarian", but she failed in this. What she really wants is acting, and can't afford wasting any time.
Another major factor we forget about is competition. Hollywood is full of actors and some of them are really really good. Unlike Megsy. What sort of buttons can she push to get a role? Cornering Bob Iger worked only once.
I suspect Al Q. targets have changed a bit since Bin Laden's days. Sure if Harry walks into the cross lines they will pull the trigger. But I doubt they will go into trouble of hunting him down in complicated expensive operation.
If he thinks he is in danger the worst ever thing he could do is moving on a permanent basis out of the country that knows all about protecting royals and has a well designed system to achieve this.
No, he didn't think anything through, created problems for the whole countries and made himself a laughing stock in the process.
Most people will say "How dreadful, how sad, let's have a candle vigil...but shouldn't he have thought it before he left?" if something happens to him outside of the UK.
Meghan Markle's Disney debut gets a drubbing from critics: Narration of Elephant documentary is branded 'over-eager to please' and packed with 'schmaltz and cheesiness'
Well, she’s mediocre at best as an actress, so it’s no wonder she can’t do a voiceover.
Another wrench in her plans to claim her “rightful” (in her mind only) place in Hollywood. This does not bode well for acting gigs rolling in. Who, especially now, wants to risk millions of dollars, their company’s reputation and credibility and their own professional reputation and credibility on an entitled brat with limited talent when far more talented people are plentiful who are easy to work with? Likely not many takers for her limited talents.
If Harkles want to stay safe, they need to adjust their behaviors, but they just do whatever they want and expect other people to pick up the tab.
How many lives we can save if we use Harkles' security money to help the people who are really in desperate situation. We already paid expensive security for Meg's baby shower to satisfy her vanity. Enough is enough.

He's the same guy who does the brilliant Meghan impressions. Everyone's dying for him to do some more. Hugely popular online. He would finish Meghan off if he put all his energies into doing more. It would be Sarah Palin and Tina Faye all over again.
Tend to agree with you Happy Days about Baby 2. I think this would be easier to pull off if it is a surrogate as there won't be any pesky palace staffers about. In some ways, perhaps easier to control from that within the walls aspect. However, outside, the paps will be everything JH has said they were. And, if past history is any indicator of future behavior, she isn't good about consistency for the size of the bump.
WBBM - That documentary - fascinating that they treated different sources differently. If they were more of a background filler source, they made a point of shooting them as they were placed in with the lights but if the source enhanced their narrative, there was no such shots. I was also impressed how many of them (supporting our narritive) projected the ups and downs of what happened as if they were personally in that situation and therefore it was viewed and magnified through a lense of of that person's historical baggage about race. I am reminded of the saying: When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.
Anon-Unknown - Maybe I don't understand. If they are broke because they have actually, really paid back for FC, where on earth is the money for either rent or deposit to buy a house going to come from? I don't think they could buy all cash, so the local banks would want to see some sort of financial resources given that neither have a current job. (ah, but if they did pay all cash from JH's trust, that would limit her claim of this is community property).
There won't be another "baby" as Meghan has worn out that schtick. One can't play a superhero while pregnant. She will be focused on losing weight, getting in shape and getting to a size 2 or 0. Anything over a size 2 is considered fat in Hollywood.
I thought at the time that the Met might have been exaggerating a bit whenever said the costs could be up to 20m. Stories of the RPOs fetching sandwiches and dry cleaning surfaced at the same time. It seemed to be a campaign to bring the British RPOs home where they were needed and to stop taxpayer funding for this pair of absolute ingrates.
Their ill-advised manifesto continues to haunt them. It will go down in history as an example of where overt entitlement gets you when you are dependent on public goodwill.
They are short if anyone wants to have a look ...

@lizzie You are right my estimate was low. Wrote it when I was tired and didn't think things thru. Sorry folks!! :(
You are right...I only used the 3 agent a day (from the number another poster used upthread). I think there would be 12 hr shifts and 3 agents (1 for each H, M, and A) so double the number = 6 agents/day. Maybe 1 replacement for each agent (work one 12 hr shift then off) so this would require a total of 12 agents, possibly 16 agents. Also I think the quoted salary was low IMO (again used facts given)..
So this 12-16 agents needed increases my original estimate x 4-5 so approx. $2+ Million to $2.5+ Mil plus benefits, travel, accommodations (maybe guest house on property to house on-duty agents and immediate back-ups). So reported $4 million price tag is believable...BUT Not the original figure of $20 million which was being bandied about repeatedly (maybe negative PR to bring about public discontent, lol).
I know it's morbid and not funny to anyone who has lost a loved one, but the idea makes me chuckle.
She wanted the luxurious holiday homes in places where the elite congregate (like the holiday mansion of Elton's that they borrowed), not invitations to Balmoral.
She wanted to wear all the most expensive designer clothes that she can throw out after one wear, not a suitable working wardrobe to re-wear for decades.
Yes, she does covet the lifestyle and freedom that Misha has, and the immense wealth of her husband. Meghan loves to hustle but she does not want to HAVE to just to pay the bills because her husband does not have enough money for the lifestyle she wants.
Unlike Misha though, Megsy wants to be an Angelina Jolie ... walking the red carpet in eye-watering expensive clothes, accessories and jewellery on the weekend and rescuing the poor and 'helpless without Megsy to lift them up and empower them' on weekdays.
After I left my comment I considered the complexities and cost of what it would entail and no, I certainly don't want to front the cost myself.
Some ideas are well intentioned but not realistic in execution.
CatEyes is cracking me up and Rebecca B makes a good point about PRINCE Harry - nobody ever took away that title.

When you receive mail like that, all you can do is laugh!
I didn't think about that, but you're right. The comparison is also interesting. Meghan and Angelina Jolie seem to share a crippling insecurity that use charity to bring meaning to their lives. Jolie also managed to land a job as a visiting "professor", to round out the fact that she's not just beautiful externally with a beautiful soul internally, she's also whip-smart (gag). So in that, they have quite a bit in common too. If only the job role of fauxmanitarian would just disappear, but people are still dazzled.
Fact: the more virus you're exposed to the more likely you are to get sicker and sicker
Can you provide a link to support this particular fact? The more virus you shed, the more people you can infect, but the severity of one's illness isn't dependent on the quantity of virus you are exposed to.
I'm pretty sure they are in the Holmby Hills neighbourhood of Bel Air. It is very convenient and private whereas Malibu isn't a convenient place to live under normal circumstances and during the Covid19 pandemic it would be extremely challenging for newcomers. Everything is closed.
From what I've heard (second hand) is that they've moved into a small property designed by Max Azria. It was on the market, then pulled almost immediately. Well see and very soon because there are no secrets held for very long in L.A., they'll regret leaving the UK. Americans will show them none of the automatic respect they receive in the Commonwealth.
I just want to say nobody who is a native Californian calls it "Cali", it's tacky, it's like calling San Francisco "Frisco". Rude and uneducated to be sure.
I live on the Westside of L.A. and love it. It's paradise in my home and neighbourhood. The traffic is horrible but the ocean, the mild weather and the sun shining most of the time make it a great place to live!
I think you are right about Americans not showing "automatic respect" to them. There are many faults people like to point in Americans (as if all others are blameless) but there is one things US got right: respect should be earned.
If a spoilt brat happens to be blue blooded folk will not hesitate to call him a blue blooded spoilt brat. Harry is in for a shock.

Jolie also got to the top of British politics by befriending a member of the House of Lords and William Hague, former British Foreign Secretary. Here's a news article about Jolie's "squad" of British friends, including the infamous Diana Jenkins. CDAN readers will know about Diana Jenkins, especially her controversial photography book, Room 23.
Here's a quote from the article about Jolie that mentions Jenkins, who just happens to own/owned a cliff side mansion in Malibu. Notice the others who are mentioned:
"Jenkins courts publicity as much as Helic avoids it, and is a leading philanthropist and international human rights activist who now operates out of a $32 million cliffside estate in Malibu. She counts everyone from Mick Jagger and George Clooney to Elton John and Sean Penn among her friends."
I do think MM is attempting to model herself on part of Jolie's "work" as an international humanitarian. I'll leave it up to the readers here as to whether Jolie is truly a humanitarian or whether she was working toward world power, greater fame and mega-money, which sounds very familiar, doesn't it?

Viral load & dose-dependency:
Not established whether amount you get affects severity of illness - there's been talk in the last few days (BBC) that severity of outcome depends on amount of virus you've been infected with (there seems to be a relationship in the case of flu).
It seems reasonable to suppose that the body can deal better with a smaller initial dose than a larger one
On the other hand, New Scientist (published last Thursday) is less certain:
https://www.newscientist.com/article/2238819-does-a-high-viral-load-or-infectious-dose-make-covid-19-worse/
So it looks as if the jury's out.
Initial reports suggested there were 2 strains of the virus, of differing effect. One major, one relatively minor. Only this morning, I read that Chinese researchers think now that there may be as many as 8 strains. Sorry, didn't note where I saw it but I'll post it if I come across it again.

Fact: the more virus you're exposed to the more likely you are to get sicker and sicker
Can you provide a link to support this particular fact? The more virus you shed, the more people you can infect, but the severity of one's illness isn't dependent on the quantity of virus you are exposed to.
I also saw the article and this is the reasoning:
* As soon as the virus enters your body, your immune system goes into action and eliminates it.
* As soon as the virus enters your body, it multiplies and spreads.
Under normal circumstances, your immune system will eliminate the virus, but if it gets overwhelmed by too much multiplying too quickly, then it has to fight the battle on many fronts and the virus gets more time to do damage and can overwhelm your body.
So your best defence is to minimise exposure AND support your immune system (loads of Vitamin C ... you can never have too much as your body will eliminate what it does not need). Foods (fresh) to boost immune system:
Citrus
Red bell peppers
Broccoli
Garlic
Ginger
Spinach
Live Yogurt
Almonds
Turmeric
Green tea
Papaya
Kiwi
Chicken Soup
Sunflower Seeds
Shellfish
* Rice with turmeric and lightly sauteed onions, garlic and fresh spinach with a garnish of parsley and sunflower seeds
* If you can't get fresh citrus fruit, then buy Vitamin C in powdered buffered form
* Chicken and broccoli casserole with almonds
* Green tea with fresh ginger root and lemon
I would imagine that they would need a home that is easy to defend, from a geographical standpoint. Nothing too close to a busy road, for example, or with a public walking path nearby.
For anyone interested in seeing what a Max Azria home looks like, here's one for sale in Beverly Hills.
If a spoilt brat happens to be blue blooded folk will not hesitate to call him a blue blooded spoilt brat. Harry is in for a shock. ‘
I concur! Respect should never be automatic or expected, it should be earned. π
@OKay,’
Said @Raspberry Ruffle Your name makes me hungry too. :D I actually looked up what it was, and every time I read your name I think of "Raspberry Truffle" anyway so I was pretty close. *LOL* ‘
You were very close! πIt’s a childhood fav of mine that stayed with me. I always have a pack of bars in the house (loose individual sweets are harder to find) even at these atrocious times. π€
A moronic rich prince, barely knew where his palaces were shed,
And then one day, while shooting to keep his shot numbers up,
Up from the ground came a piece of Tv crude,
Rachel, she said, Maybe Meghan,
But no movie star
So the first thing Moron’s kinfolk said,
ya Harry, move away from here
Great Britain is too classy for you two,
So the moron Markles loaded up their jets and moved to Beverly
Hills, that is,
Movie Stars, Swimming pools

Fact: the more virus you're exposed to the more likely you are to get sicker and sicker
Think of it like this: You get exposed to the measles and you're going to get them, either mildly or severely, depending on your body, right? Could be a nuisance infection, or a severe-could-put-you-in-the-hospital version.
But the particular phrasing used suggests that if you are exposed to more people with the infection, you are going to get way sicker than if you were just exposed by one person with it.
tl;dr: The severity of it depends on your body, not how many people you came in contact with.

Yes, how strong your immune system is and what weaknesses your body has are key to how sick you will get, but how much of the virus enters your body at the time of infection is also relevant. If your body is inundated with a high viral load at the time of infection from a highly contagious person (or repeated exposure to small viral loads, such as the risk for health care workers) then it is likely to be overwhelmed, i.e. the virus will multiply and spread quickly and do damage before your immune system can eliminate it.
Your body can only process 2,000 or so units of vitamin C a day. Any more than that gets flushed, literally. People taking large amounts of vitamin C are just making expensive urine.
