The Sussexes have left the building: What now?

After yesterday's hostility-fest at the Commonwealth Day services at Westminster Abbey, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have completed their activities as senior members of the British Royal Family.

Some reports suggest that they have already left for Canada, where their infant son Archie has been waiting for them for more than a week.

It seems impossible, however, that this is the end of the Sussex story - and in fact, they will still officially be His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness until the end of March.

What do you think will happen during the next three weeks? Will the Sussexes be silent?

Thanks, Ian's girl. I live quietly now, but I have had a very interesting life, I guess. It's funny how these memories pop up from time to time.

Back to Harry, I listened to the recording and I do not think that it sounds like Harry.

@Louise

I did look up the info and was impressed that Churchill Falls has the 10th largest hydro-electrical generating station on the world!

Niagara Falls by rights demarks the border between Canada and the US. So of course, Canada would rightfully be able to use the water for their needs. The US only produces slightly more electricity than Canada's power stations at and near the Falls.

I specifically didn't get the info but it is safe to assume that Canada may have supplied/sold the US electricity since the Falls only can supply 1/4 of the energy needed by NYC.

Yes Canada is a country with great natural resources. Beautiful country. My eldest daughter just spent a couple of weeks traveling up to Nova Scotia from California this past summer. They really loved it but were disappointed they did not see more wildlife. They were hoping to see a moose maybe a wolverine (just kidding on the wolverine, yikes!)

I don't know what Meghan is looking at but when Sophie turns round and looks at her, they both recoil and look the other way. Edward is sitting among all of this smiling ... It is hilarious!

@Louise: An anon posted the following about the recording of the phone call ... 'the alleged phone call with the Russian YouTubers was taken down as there is no way to prove that it is real. The one on DM is an enactment of the alleged conversation on YouTube'. It is possible that Meghan and Harry moved quickly to have it taken down from the Internet (the actual recording).

@Swampwoman - absolutely! I think she may have tried it on William and/or if she had the chance she wouldn’t think twice before dumping the spare and hitching herself to him. I get the impression she thought Harry would be much more senior in the line of succession. I also think she was completely jealous of the friendship between Kate and Haz - well anyone really that could interrupt her need to have him depend on her.

I just heard the Dixie Chicks new song, "Gaslighter." I hope the song will make this topic more well known and get some people thinking:

Gaslighter
Denier
Doing anything to get your ass farther
Gaslighter
Big timer
Repeating all of the mistakes of your father

We moved to California and we followed your dreams
I believed in the promises you made to me
Swore that night til death do us part
But you lie lie lie lie lied
Hollywood welcomed you with open doors
No matter what they gave you, you still wanted more
Acting all above it when our friends divorced
What a lie lie lie lie lie

You're such a
Gaslighter
Denier
Doing anything to get your ass farther
Gaslighter
Big timer
Repeating all of the mistakes of your father
Gaslighter
You broke me
You're sorry but where's my apology
Gaslighter
You liar

You thought I wouldn't see it if you put it in my face
Give you all my money you'll gladly walk away
You think it's justifiable I think it's pretty cruel
And you know you lie best when you lie to you
Cause boy you know exactly what you did on my boat
And boy that's exactly why you ain't comin' home
Save your tired stories for your new someone else
Cause they're lie lie lie lie lies
Look out you little

Gaslighter
Denier
Doing anything to get your ass farther
Gaslighter
Big timer
Repeating all of the mistakes of your father
Gaslighter
You broke me
You're sorry but where's my apology
Gaslighter

You just had to start a fire
Had to start a fire
Couldn't take yourself on a road a little higher
Had to burn it up, had to tear it down
Tried to say I'm crazy
Babe, you know, I'm not crazy that's you
Gaslighting
You're a lie lie lie liar
Oh honey, that's you
Gaslighting
You made your bed and then your bed caught fire

Gaslighter
I'm your mirror
Standing right here
Until you can see how
You broke me
Yeah, I'm broken
You're still sorry
And there's still no apology

Gaslighter

Kristin Chenoweth spoke about MM tonight. She said MM called her up to ask for some advice, and Kristin said:

"Whenever I see someone less fortunate than I,
And let's face it, who isn't less fortunate than I?
My tender heart tends to start to bleed.
And when someone needs a makeover,
I simply have to take over!
I know, I know exactly what they need!
And even in your case,
Though it's the toughest case I've yet to face,
Don't worry, I'm determined to succeed!
Follow my lead,
And yes indeed, you will be...

...I'll show you what shoes to wear!
How to fix THAT HAIR!"

Kristin represents both Hollywood and Broadway in all of the mediums, with connections to feminist politics. The crowd roared with laughter.

Afterward, Kristin said, "Give Justin Trudeau a kiss and then HAND SANITIZE YOUR MOUTH!"

I’m wondering who is going to want touch JH after MM spits him out once she’s done chewing him up?
JH is looking more and more awful by the day and becoming (or perhaps always was) a very bitter man. I thought JH was fairly good looking a few years back but now the thought is quite repulsing. I can’t see he would want to date someone who has done that to their family? It is very off putting. P W is looking way more attractive than he has in a very long time.
JH is making himself look like an absolute fool and he can’t seem to see that.
I think there is a lot that is going on behind closed doors with MM and JH, if she very obviously tried to cut him down to size and make him sit while people were clapping, what does she do when no one is watching? I think our toes would curl backwards.
Because of this I really hope if there is an “Archie” he isn’t around them ever although they don’t act like they have a baby ever.

P W is a lot more savy and aware of MM and her tricks, he doesn’t want his family associated with MM or “Archie” because something is off and it’s telling they have never been seen with “Archie” minus the ‘christening photo’ and he didn’t look like he wanted to be there either.

3 things about the recordings:

1/ He is not the 1st to be pranked and I won’t be the last one but come on, this is not back luck!
I call that foolishness, stupidity and lack of humility.
He should know better especially in that context of intense media scrutiny.

2/ Now, they should be stripped from all the titles: HRH + Sussex + line of succession.
Harry can’t represent HMQ any amore.
The Queen have done a tremendous job to maintain the relationship with the U.S. Once again, he lets her down.

3/ Invictus games + charities for UK and US veterans:
I think lots of veterans and service members respect President Trump.
Therefore, Harry and Meghan would better find other hobbies.
As for his future within Invictus games: the BRF should think about it twice….
Maybe it’s time to find someone else to take over.

3/Harry and Meghan, lost their deal with Disney and they will lose many other potential deals: yes, they are definitively too controversial.

If you want to do something good for the environment or another cause: you can’t do it without world leaders.
Even Kim Kardashian understood that!

The only thing they can do now is to acknowledge and to take the responsibility for the whole conversation to grab famous environmental activist’s support (eg. Di Caprio) or celebs who criticized President Trump’s policies (eg. Chrissy Teigen, Taylor Swift…).
I also think they’ll activate their victim mode saying they are being persecuted.
Saw someone commenting upthread that MM (and PH) scrabled out of their seats to follow the Cambs out of the abbey, ahead of the Wessexs.

Well, it may (or may not) have looked ungainly, but thats the protocol. In and out of the service, or any official event involving the whole BRF, they follow the line of succession. So the Suxs come after the Cambs. Then the Wxs. Its also the same order they arrived at the service.

Ideally Andy comes after the Suxs, before the Wxs but he was strategically absent this year. I saw a chair between the suxs and wxs, maybe that was to denote Andy, maybe not. I wouldnt be sure. But it could be and everyone diplomatically avoided commenting on it in any way. Just a speculation on my part, of course.
Jdubya said…
that PH says this ""You forget, I was in the military for ten years so I’m more normal than my family would like to believe." - just burns me so bad. His version of "being in the Army for 10 yrs" is so warped. How much time did he spend living on base? in barracks? going to "work" every single day. Having to ask permission to leave the base.

Ugh - his brain is so screwed up. He really has no clue of what living a normal life let alone a military life is.
Prince Harry is just so basic he is a human embodiment of an afternoon yawn.

even his prank-called self has no substance. And why oh why are these two just so obsessed with these 16yr olds. Mm with the Head Boy, PH with Greta. What man has not 1 byt 2..TWO...casual conversations about his life and stuff with 16 yr old random girl from Sweden. They cant be friends surely. So why talk about all this?? His radar didnt ping at all when he got those calls? Does he know at least now that they were prank calls? The premise of this conversation happeneing did not surprize him at all? is he really so bored and listless there in the 14mil mansion that he just sits by his landline and recieve calls from anyone who calls him and starts discussing his life with them?? LOL.

That being said, Im a little skeptical about whether this is actaully true or just some made up bullshit.

@FrenchieLiv

Talking to Greta's dad is even more random. If you ever heard Greta speak casually, or in an interview, you would know she is pretty sassy and snarky. Im pretty sure her personal opinion of PH's lack of balls situation would be spot on and kinda funny. PH needs to stop whining. Get a grip. Assess his situation and carry on with his life instead of trying to constantly justify the eveil-ness of his family, country, media blah blah blah.

Infact, i do think this is somewhat strategy of his PR to make him the scape goat. All this while madam has been sitting on her wishing her double chin away and not actually said a word, mind you! Yes there's the passive-agressive articles attributed to hehr and her friends but she herself has been strategically absent from the front line. Its just him who has been the face of this royal divorse. Smart move on her part.

She is essentially staying out of the direct limelight. All she did ths past week has been grin maniacally, put hehr best wig on, fumble and bumble through her appearances, but she kept quiet and did not diss anyone per se. She even greeted WnK (only to be snubbed, but still). All this while Harks has been scowling and channeling his inner hulk. Harry needs himself some Deepak Chopra and sage cleanse.
FrenchieLiv said…

I keep reading that MM is going to hook a billionaire.
Ever met a billionaire? In y line of work I have met dozens. From all over the world. One thing they can do: smell a grifter from a billion miles away. They usually aren't stupid. Sure, they might pay for a night with her, as a trophy, but she'd make a terrible wife, and they know it. The billionaires I know would look at her, play her little game, sleep with her, and then tell her to eff off, while laughing.

She's the type of second wife who would try to force her husband to distance himself from his first-wives' children. She'd never succeed.
No rich powerful man wants to be compared to Just Harry Dumbarton.
She's lucky if she'll find a millionaire to get her hooks into after JH.

I'm with Nutty in my concerns about Harry's views on extreme actions being needed to get people to 'get' climate change. I don't see that as trivial or meaningless. Indeed, even if he was advocating lower-scale stuff, that still has a price.

For example, extremists destroyed a beautiful lawn in front of a Cambridge college recently (I have lived in Cambridge for decades). Years of devotion will have gone into caring for that lawn, as for the buildings. The colleges are households of the old-fashioned kind and people care about their work. How dare these protesters mindlessly destroy other people's hard work and then sit there with complete self-satisfaction, doing nothing constructive, bringing nothing to the table. The world needs people to harness their creativity and work hard to find solutions. As Prince William is encouraging with the prize. Mindless vandalism does the cause no good at all.

Harry showed no deep thought or originality or expertise such as would merit organisations paying him huge sums to speak to them. You can hear the same stuff just sitting on a bus every day. But of course 'normal' Harry wouldn't know that.
Ava C said…
We need to remember this is the type of 'prank' that happened to Sophie but that was very early on in her royal life whereas Harry has been a royal his entire life AND he thought he was speaking to someone very active in events high on the public agenda, with a huge following and the capacity to inspire good or ill. A sheik, whether real or fake, is not so important. Still, at the time I remember thinking that if I was Sophie I'd crawl under a rock and never, ever come out.

Of course Sophie has more than made up for her misjudgement with years of sterling service to the BRF. Harry has made a LITANY of misjudgements - a veritable procession(!) - and is personally inadequate and unequipped to make such reparation.

Don't think this new Telegraph article by Allison Pearson has been posted:

***

PART ONE

A not-so fond farewell to Harry and Meghan!

They say parting is such sweet sorrow, but, if you ask me, Harry and Meghan’s final appearance as working members of the Royal family seemed distinctly short on sweetness. It wasn’t quite Murder in the Cathedral, more looking daggers in the Abbey.

You didn’t need a doctorate in body language to gather that things are just a teensy bit tense right now among the Windsor clan. The Cambridges could hardly bring themselves to acknowledge the Sussexes. The Wessexes acted as a buffer zone.

Prince Edward made animated small talk with Meghan on his right, while Sophie Wessex on his left pretended to be incredibly interested in the Order of Service. No Order of Service has ever been more fascinating than the one for the Queen’s Commonwealth Service as far as Sophie was concerned. If she needed to memorise every single hymn, and sing it nude, then she would do it rather than make eye contact with that bloody actress.

Meghan had arrived dressed as a peapod with matching pillbox hat in jealous green. Like all her glamorous outfits on this “Farewell, Stuffy Royals, Hello Disney Princess!” tour, this one almost seemed designed to make her sister-in-law look frumpy. Kate isn’t frumpy, she just looks Royal, something Meghan never really understood.

Harry’s jacket had a green-silk lining to match his wife’s dress, which was either a nice touch or evidence of rampant control-freakery by She Who Says We Must Live in Canada and Won’t Let Archie Back in His Birthplace in Case He’s Abducted by MI5 and Shut in the Tower Before the Divorce.

Harry seemed pensive and pained by his brother’s curt: “Hello.” He looked as if he’d rather be anywhere else. Afghanistan, perhaps.
At the entrance to the Abbey, Meghan did her “I’m so glowing and compassionate, me” routine with a receiving line of enraptured clergymen when she noticed Prince William come in and hastily scuttled along. No love lost there.

Meghan Markle: inspirational, self-assured, bi-racial humanitarian who has brought joy to lost, motherless boy and sticks up for what she thinks is right? Or fame-hungry, scorch-the-earth people-dumper dragging poor Harry down a dark path? Honestly, your guess is as good as mine. At least there is little doubt what William thinks.

You could tell how anxious things were because Buckingham Palace was forced to make a last-minute change to avoid upsetting the swansong couple. Harry and Meghan were supposed to be shown to their seats while the Cambridges joined the Queen’s procession.
Ava C said…
PART TWO

Instead, faced with the dread news that the Sussexes were “emotional and upset” at being excluded from the Royal line-up, the one they had chosen to leave, William and Kate defused the situation by dropping out of the procession and also being taken to their seats. There was no time to re-print the 2,000 orders of service which stated clearly that the Cambridges would enter with the Queen and the Prince of Wales.

Once seated, everyone looked tense and utterly miserable except the person who had done most to cause the tension and misery. Meghan kept her newly-whitened smile on full-beam lest she damage the brand by appearing unhappy in the photographs.

Boy, I have seen some awkward family gatherings in my time, but this one took the Bath Oliver. It will be just one year ten months and 12 days since Meghan joined the Firm on 31st March, the day that she and Harry bow out of Royal life. A remarkably short period of time to have sown such discord. Princess Diana would be devastated to see her boys so coldly estranged.

Perhaps Harry was always looking for a way to leave the life he thought had murdered his mother. Fair enough. I get that. Given time, people would have respected his decision. But it has been done so impatiently and with such arrogant obliviousness towards the Queen. It was Her Majesty who, upon their marriage, appointed the Sussexes as youth ambassadors to her beloved Commonwealth, a thoughtful gift that, at Monday’s lovely ceremony, they threw back in her face.

I count myself a Harry fan, but I find I now care very little that he is leaving our national life. I am not impressed, not at all, and I suspect a lot of people feel the same way. One day, the prince may have cause to reflect that, in pursuit of love, he carelessly squandered the affection of millions.

ENDS

I especially like Allison Pearson's words:

"Kate isn’t frumpy, she just looks Royal, something Meghan never really understood."

This is one of my principal arenas for battles with sugars elsewhere, much good may it do me.
Ava C said…
I see Allison Pearson has a different total for how long Meghan lasted in the royal family - "It will be just one year ten months and 12 days since Meghan joined the Firm on 31st March". Depends on whether you count it from the departure after the pit stains (as it shall forever be denominated in my mind) or 31 March.

Whatever. From the wedding to 31 March 2020 it will be 682 days. Anne Boleyn is way out in front with her 1,000 days. Which by the way is one of my favourite films. Anne of the Thousand Days, which I thought for years was Anne of a Thousand Days, which sounds better. Richard Burton may not have looked like Henry VIII but by God he could play him. While Genevieve Bujold was hands down the best Anne Boleyn there has ever been, spanning from Merle Oberon in the 1930s to Claire Foy in Wolf Hall.

I loved this closing to an interview with Bujold.

***

Before I said good-by to Genevieve in our interview, I asked her who she would pick to play Anne today. She admitted that she hadn’t seen either Natalie Portman or Natalie Dormer; she lives fairly reclusive life in Malibu, and rarely sees movies or watches television. “But is there anyone who you think would do the part justice?” She was silent for awhile, then asked me if she could be honest. Of course, I said. “Maybe it’s selfish, but…the way I feel….” Genevieve had been so warm and generous throughout the interview, praising all her mentors and influences in her life, she was clearly a bit uncomfortable with what she wanted to say. So, I pressed a bit more, and she responded, with an intensity that recalled her performance and made me smile with delight.

“No-one,” Genevieve replied, “Anne is mine.”

One of the pranksters, impersonating Zelenskiy, joked that his winning 73 per cent of the vote in the Ukrainian election was reminiscent of Russian President Vladimir Putin's own strong election results.
In the recording, a voice that sounds like Macron can be heard joking that Ukraine was not like Russia in at least one respect. "You haven't yet put all opponents in jail."

Why are the DM suddenly being so relentlessly gushing about the Sussexes and actively dissing the Cambridges? And why has HM bent over backwards to pander to them at the expense of the Cambridges to whom she now shows little regard. All her time as Queen she has been a stickler for the "rules"..... no WAY would she have allowed a change in the Order of Service whoever stamped their feet. It is like she no longer cares about the Monarchy after she is gone.....sorry but to me the Sussexes look like they have got, are getting and will continue to get everything they want....and don't forget, indirectly, any money shoved at them comes from the racist, vicious tax payers.....just don't understand what's happening

I once heard that the first `Johari window ‘ was devised in the 18th or 19th century in Prussia (could it have been by Frederick the Great himself?)

It was considered that Army officers could be categorised by the dimensions of by brain power and zeal:
Intelligent & zealous – future leaders
Intelligent but less zealous – excellent 2nds in command, v. useful as they could devise the most efficient ways of doing things
Stupid & lazy – don’t worry about these, too idle to make trouble.
Stupid & active – the really dangerous ones, chaos creators ...

Interesting group of photos in a DM article today discussing how Meghan asserts her control of Harry in public by the ways she touches him. Many reporters call it loving gestures, but as most of those who post here, it’s far from it. They are narcissistic control mechanisms that Harry follows to the nth degree. I hope he wakes up soon, but because he is so dense and she is so cunning, this marriage could go a lifetime.

The only issue I see that can break them up is financial issues, which, unless they haul in a great amount of money for a long time and invest it wisely, Meghan’s lavish taste and insatiable need for material symbols to validate herself will lead to deep debt and financial ruin. She will blame Harry and her advisors and not accept any responsibility. He will put up with her cheating on him unless it is so blatant and public that he has to do something about it. However, I can see her gaslighting him to make him believe any infidelity on her part is his fault.

I’m just hoping there are’t any more children, but she will likely be “pregnant” in one form or another by the end of the year.

Headline is: Who's got the upper hand? Meghan Markle is always reaching out to touch Prince Harry, but is it affection or a unspoken sign of who's in charge, asks BETH HALE

There are some who consider that while the call may be real, the entire episode was staged. THIS is the real Harry and he's letting everyone know. While I didn't read the entire transcript, what I did read sounds scripted. From all accounts, Harry is believed to be dumber than a box of rocks, yet he's able to make these statements "off the cuff?" I would have expected more bumbling, incoherent dribble if he was truly speaking off the cuff. Much of what he says sounds like MM word salad and passive aggressive crap (the digs at HM and William).

And he mentions "finding a wife" as though it's a business deal, it's all very weird.

Interesting info about use of coal in your country. Thank you! I would like to add another dimension if I may.

Japan following the tsunami disaster that killed thousands of people and caused worst nuclear catastrophe after Chernobyl is now dismounting it's nuclear power stations. One of the alternative sources of energy for the country is coal. They have been working hard on that. Knowing Japanese they will apply the latest, cleanest technology and will make it super efficient.

Now idiotic Harry puts his size 44 boot into it. According to him, Japanese PM has blood on his hands just like Trump (and wipes the whole communities) simply because the country is using coal.

I would say Harry stopped being amusing idiot and turned into a huge liability in all senses.

DM says Meghan left for Canada right after the Monday Commonwealth ceremony.
The phone call is beyond belief. He’s encouraging “extreme” measures (eco terrorism), insults his brother’s Moonshot prize, insults his grandmother’s small things portion of her Christmas speech, and dismisses anyone over age 35 (the approximate median age of the world population). He even insults his PM and the President of his nation’s most important ally. All in a chat to strangers, who he believes are a teenage girl and her dad. He needs to be completely reigned in or totally cast off.

He need to be completely reigned in or totally cast out. No in between.
@ Hikari @ Elle, I have been. up since 3 am reading this blog and googling "libel" as I cannot sleep. I came across your kind comments and am literally in tears. Calling my lawyer today to see if someone in the Harkle world can bring action against me for telling our premier that he doesn't speak for me when saying everyone here is thrilled to have these "royals" amongst us (and for providing my very succinct opinion of MM). It sounds bizarre but why else would there be a UK law firm hovering on my Linked In page, along with the Thames Valley police? I have not lived there, nor done business there for over 45 years. I am 68 today - a widow living quietly with her pup and apparently a very grave threat to the Harkles! It is so ridiculous but still threatening to me.

In contrast to the blue and red dress appearances, I thought MM looked terrible at the CWD ceremony. The dress was too loose and the bra ill fitting. Looking for the camera every few minutes. Like Unknown, I just don't understand why she appears to be winning over the Royals who are acting powerless. For this reason, I believe she has something on them. The Queen looked so sad. So much on her aging shoulders. Sophie rocks! No mixed messages there. Ditto for Camilla. Just a comment about Harry's suits being lined. I can't recall where his hand was when we saw the flash of green on CWD, but for the umbrella shot, where the suit corner also flipped up, it was positioned just a few inches out from the suit-flip towards 2 o'clock - suggesting a fine thread to the wrist, which is how these "breezy" shots showing clothing behaving abnormally are often achieved.

Yes, what will be next? I am doubting another pregnancy announcement. That won't tie in with her plans for Superhero parts. The best role for her would be a Suits spin-off featuring her life with Mike in Seattle. She and he could have a large family of dolls. Did that VICE show air? I haven't heard anything.

I guess I'm not really out of here, am I?
So @Jen you are suggesting that this prank call is Harry's panorama interview???

Even worse! So basically, they are like discount deal suasage rolls at poundland! So classy, and well past their expiration date.
Jen said…
@Alice, No...Diana at least had the decency to sit and be interviewed like a normal person. IMO, Harry chose the coward route, and I do believe this is a staged op. He is believed to be talking to Greta and her father, but it's actually two Russian dudes....really? You can't tell a Russian dude from a 16 yr old girl, who from every video I have seen of her speaking sounds very much like a 16 yr old girl?

Who has conversations like this with a perfect stranger? A lot of TMI, if you ask me. I'm not surprised by his comments on Trump (again, Meghan....) and BoJo...although I am a bit surprised that he wouldn't speak about Randy Andy's antics. One would think he'd take the opportunity to stick it to the old family again.
lizzie said…
I'd not have thought the call was staged by Harry except:

It does sound like Harry to me and he does sound scripted. He's more of a bumbler off the cuff.

He did do that dumb skit with Ed Sheeran and he did do a half-assed dress-up act as Santa....both occurred in the last 6 months and were quite lame IMO. So this kind of fits the pattern and is consistent with the persona he's developing as a "rogue prince."

But talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face! He's so anxious to get his views and criticisms out there he's willing for people to believe he was punked by two Russians guys into believing he was talking to a Swedish teenage girl?

Astrid,

I'm so sorry to hear of this harassment of you. Any citizen in a free society ought to be able to write a letter of opinion to her leader. If your letter didn't include any abusive language threatening harm (which I'm sure it didn't), I would have expected a boilerplate acknowledgement or nothing.

Thames Valley is Oxford . . not sure why they would be interested in a foreign resident's opinion of two ex-royals who are not in Oxfordshire and never have been. You've done nothing wrong.

**************

Saw the pics from the Commonwealth thing. Holy hell. What would possess Smeg to don a yam-colored muu muu? Our American readers watching TV in the 1970s will understand when I call it her 'Mrs. Roper' look. So not the image of 'youthful, glamorous, sexy' that she supposedly wants to project. What?? I don't understand her at all.

On the heels of the CW service, in which we saw a beaten down Haz in a ridiculous lined suit jacket and too long tie trailing after his wife like a beaten dog, she releases those photos. Dude looks high as a kite. I can't think of any other explanation for his appearance. It's Earth Mother Meghan with her Giant Man-Baby time. I also listened to the 'prank phone call'. I think it's Harry's voice but he's so obviously reading from a script. Haz is not the type of bloke to speak eloquently off the cuff about 'the lungs of the earth' for extended minutes like that. Like the Ed Sheeran video, it's supposed to look completely spontaneous but it was planned.

I don't care any more about the rehabilitation of Harry. He's too far gone. We should start a pool now on how long it is before he is either dead or involved in a matter so grave--overdose, another accident where he kills or severely maims people . .?--that his family has to come get him. What a sad fate for a man who seemed on top of the world just three years ago. We are watching the destruction of a man unfold before our eyes.

my gosh Harry is a moron. Unreal that he fell for that phone scam.

I just now saw my first pic of Meg in the green outfit. This whole trip, to me, she's looked like a streetwalker with her tacky, form-fitting clothes. It just doesn't work, and works even less with her perpetual "I'm posing for the cameras" smirk.

I thought the Harkles were doing ok on the front end of this trip. But, by the end, they were right back to their C-list, disaster ways. Harry torched everything with the phone call scam.

So glad we are finally done with them on the big stage.

Agree with those that think the phone call was a script or a panorama interview.

The Hackles are using every means at their disposal to give out subliminal messages, which they cannot outright do. Hence the staged prank phone call.

Also millionaires in mansions do not list their home telephone numbers for all and sundry. They usually have unlisted private numbers. Also that call and phone number can be traced. Various routes to trace.

I think its a huge nothing.

Someone earlier mentioned the Spencer family. I think its odd that Diana's family have not commented on the exit. Especially odd since the " blood on hands " bit was part of Diana's brothers angry remarks at her funeral, where he stated something about the media and " blood on their hands".

Aside from this, in my family, just married couples are always invited out for family dinners, lunches, and all sociable functions, as a way of bonding and introducing them into the family. Why have these two never been invited to such? That's very telling.

@Nutty
My thoughts are that Markle will twist the Hazards arm to re establish links with Dianas side of the family, seeing that Charles side has frozen them out socially.
Yep, thats the one angle Markle has not explored.

Interestingly , evidence from the Epstein case , shows how canny he was , by keeping records and telephone numbers of everyone that crossed his path. Shrewd , yes, wickedly so. No doubt Markle is doing the same, filing into away in that fat dossier of hers.

No one wants Meg, certainly not any billionaires. Why would they? She doesn't even merit much consideration as a 'trophy', in my opinion.

Someone mentioned above about how sugars will say Meg is glamorous and Kate is frumpy and all of that. As we know, this is nonsense.

Meg gives off a "hooker, come hither" vibe (I'm a straight male) that feels both sleazy and cheesy. It feels kind of uncomfortable and very forced. The kind of vibe an aging actress gives off when trying to show she still "has it."

Kate, on the other hand, comes across as a woman and mother happy with where she is at in life and not trying to advertise herself to the world as an object of desire. She's just kind of living her life and not forcing things, not trying to be the hot, young ingenue.

As a guy, Kate comes off 1000% better than Meg. Not only does Kate seem real (and Meg fake), she's attractive in a pleasant way. Girl next door. Not someone attempting to look like a homecoming queen at age late 30's.

If it is Harry's Panorama that it is incredibly badly handled. The Queen must have known about it, the story was there since January. I think the papers withheld it until the Commonwealth Day is over as a favor.

Queen rewarded the failure again. Not only Harry represented her during military concert, his tantrum resulted in astonishing amendment to the approved order of the service at Cambriges' cost.

At list after Panorama she acted swiftly and decisively demanding a divorce.

@Fairy

We have yet to see how the Queen or PC will react to the phone call. It's one thing to KNOW something and another to see it splashed all over the press. Now that it's public, the reaction may be the same as with Diana's Panorama interview. Only, in this instance, the divorce will be a complete severing of Harry from the RF, titles and all. He went one step too far belittling his grandmother's Christmas speech; the PM and the leader of their strongest alliance. If there is NO reaction within the next week, then I will agree with you. Harry is still in the UK, there may yet be more to learn on that front.

I did just read that there may be yet MORE to the "phone call" that hasn't been released..so stay tuned.

If the prank video is true, one of the comments Harry makes is that he and MM are about “inclusivity” and “community”, so they’re “completely separate” from most of his family. They’re inclusive so they must be separate.

Here are some thoughts from one of the ladies at LSA on Meg and her outfit the other day. I could not agree more with this take.

https://www.lipstickalley.com/threads/meghan-markle-unpopular-opinions-thread-pt-2.2215591/page-3138

"Muggin’ has been smiling every time she’s photographed throughout this so called farewell tour and always looking at the cameras when the rest are just looking ahead. Only an attention whore like her would wear something SO extra to a church being married to the dude 6th in line to the throne!"

"She’s god damn lost her mind if she thought she looked good in that green number. I never thought someone could wear something too tight and too overwhelming at the same time, but I guess she’s a damn overachiever."

"Good riddance."

What is the play about the woman who has to learn how to function in polite society? Mary Poppins? I can't recall right now. Well, Meg is that person. She is so contrived and she has no social grace at all. Rather than being appropriate, following protocol or trying to be part of a team, she always comes off, instead, as a camera-mugging, lowbrow, lowest-common-denominator (trying to be overtly sexy) individual.

If you started out this way because you didn't know any better, ok. But Meg never progresses beyond this approach. Which means, to me, she actually thinks it's the best approach. If no one in her circle has the guts to tell her how 'off' she is in this, then my guess is she has no real friends.

The other character who comes to mind as regards to how Meg carries herself in public is Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman (which I think may have been a Mary Poppins knock off). When I think of Meg, this is my concept of her.

A lot of people are starstruck and impressed by the Harkles, including Diana's previous Private Secretary, but his advice for the BRF in the last two paragraphs is interesting, but what people have been saying here for a long time ... (copied from a poster at LSA, with thanks):

PART 1

PATRICK JEPHSON
Harry and Meghan won’t make Diana’s mistakes

As the late princess’s private secretary, I can see how formidable the liberated Sussexes will be

Patrick Jephson
Wednesday March 11 2020, 12.01am, The Times

Last Saturday Harry and Meghan stormed the Mountbatten Festival of Music and captured the Royal Albert Hall without a fight. The duke may be about to lose his honorary Royal Marines five-star rank but the bemedalled audience rose reliably to their feet as the Sussexes made an imperial progress to the royal box.

“The primary factor in a successful attack is speed,” wrote Admiral of the Fleet Lord Louis Mountbatten, and the old Supreme Allied Commander would have acknowledged the swift and complete coup won by Captain General Harry and his American ally as they swept through London on their final week of royal duty.

In their wake they leave a battered and dazed House of Windsor which should now be wondering how to prepare for the next assault on its diminished reserves of credibility and dignity.

Once upon a time it was Harry’s mother who nimbly outmanoeuvred the lumbering PR machine fielded by her establishment critics. Following her separation from Prince Charles in 1992, Princess Diana embarked on a thrilling exercise in re-invention as a newly liberated, semi-independent royal operator. As her private secretary I was more than willing to aid and abet her ambitious humanitarian programme which took us all over the world. Only later, once she had given away her Scotland Yard protection and succumbed to a forgivable but self-indulgent victimhood typified by her disastrous Panorama interview, did she sabotage her post-royal career.

Parallels with Harry and Meghan are numerous but misleading. Unlike Diana, they seem to have an affectionate and mutually supportive marriage. And they’re armed with professional American image-makers whose veneration for the dignity of monarchy is of the 1776 variety. In their face-offs with the royal old guard, the Sussexes bring smart bombs to a jousting tournament.

The stream of self-justifying, and occasionally threatening, communiqués on the Sussex Instagram site is delivered in almost comic transatlantic woke-speak. It’s as if Suits had come to life, reborn as a real-world drama in which there’s only one undisputed female lead. And this drama will run and run.

Harry and Meghan have identified and stoked an expectation among young, progressive and networked subjects that only they can satisfy. They speak the language: watch the video of Meghan on International Women’s Day telling a rapt audience at Robert Clack Upper School in Dagenham “I empower each of you to really stand in your truth . . .” I’ve written a fair few royal speeches but not even Princess Diana at her most self-regardingly arch would have made such a pronouncement, or at least not with a straight face. Yet from Meghan it almost sounds like wisdom and to a woke teenage ear it probably even makes a weird kind of sense.

You are a very nice, kind person. I am much more cynical. As they say, I am not vindictive, simply angry and have a good memory.

There comes a time for every public figure to step down. Normally it is before their mental faculties and will power begin to slip. If they miss this point they turn into a parody of their former self. Many singers, actors etc missed it. Madonna for example.

Sad to say Queen missed this point too. She has lost the grip and control and quickly turning into a parody of her former self.

Several years ago Harry's ongoing train crash would have been nipped in the bud and Harry put firmly under control.

It is already late but the Queen needs to step down and let Charles and William manage things with advice from intelligent savvy advisers.
Sandie said…
PART 2
There may be much to mock about Megxit but the joke will be on the Windsors if they underestimate the media blitz Meghan and Harry will soon be free to unleash. Sussex revenge for perceived slights and injustices could be rapidly launched from American chat show studios, and who will be surprised when Meghan: Her True Story tops the Christmas bestsellers?

We will soon learn if the Palace has the will and the weapons to protect itself. Traditionally, the outward trappings of royal invincibility were enough to intimidate most subversive elements. But by refusing to be overawed by the threat of Her Majesty’s displeasure the Sussexes have hit the House of Windsor’s Achilles heel.

That other traditional Palace defence, a media game sharpened up by Prince Charles in his battles with Diana, has been similarly blunted. The Sussexes have weaponised “private” engagements, professional images of which are quickly copyrighted and posted on their Instagram feed, as a simple but devastating tactic for outflanking the Palace press office. The subsequent loss of any centralised co-ordination confirms the impression of an organisation that has lost the plot.

Undeniably, the Sussexes’ departure leaves a hole in the royal family, and as some early polls suggest, it’s a hole that is welcomed by around 90 per cent of respondents. Numbers even close to that, presumably representing a large chunk of the monarchy’s loyal, tax-paying base, should send a clear message to Palace strategists. In a phrase sometimes used by Princess Diana when she had run out of patience, it’s time to get just a little bit royal.

Perhaps from benign instincts (or perhaps because they were caught unawares) the home team at the Sandringham negotiations on Harry and Meghan’s future made big concessions. Retention of the Sussex and other titles, a significant portfolio of patronages and a one-year trial period looked reasonable and even statesmanlike at the time. But all are now ammunition in the hands of the Sussexes’ media advisers.

It’s time for a strategic reassessment. An immediate clean break and withdrawal of those concessions regains the initiative for the Palace and is the shortest route to long-term resolution. However bad the response, it’s a price worth paying to assert control over the future credibility of the monarchy.

The alternative is a year in which the duke and duchess conduct stylish surprise raids on royalty’s function, reputation and dignity. Perhaps it’s time for the royal high command to ask itself: what would Mountbatten do?

Patrick Jephson was equerry and private secretary to HRH The Princess of Wales, 1988-96

Yep. She encourages this nonsense word salad. What is sinister though is the digs at his family. this is one of many and implies that his family are not inclusive (that's Meghan getting revenge because she did not feel at ease in upper society and the BRF because she just never did fit no matter how kind and generous they were ... a narc wants to be in charge and she never was because she was out of her depth, so now she must take revenge on them) and not about community (hell, all the work the Cambridges do, plus all those 'bring' visits from BRF members plus the close knit family Harry comes from as opposed to Meghan's dysfunctional background).

@LighthealerAstrid, So sorry to hear of your harassment. It's very upsetting. If this is related to anything you've said about the Harkles, It's a disturbing reminder of how some on the Left are so afraid of free speech. OT, It makes me a little bit leery of a Biden win this November. Hope you won't stop posting, & hope everything will be fine.

Re: Harry's prank call. Is it surprising that he got duped? Well, I guess it is, because I would assume royals had underlings to screen this sort of stuff, & there were reports some months ago that Harry had changed his mobile number & was unreachable for old friends & even some family. The dumb statements sound like the real Harry, & certainly underline why Hegs should never, never, ever be king! Please, somebody, remove him from the succession & double the protection for the Cornwalls & Cambs!

@Hikari, "Saw the pics from the Commonwealth thing. Holy hell. What would possess Smeg to don a yam-colored muu muu? LOL. I think she's an attractive woman & would look nice if she let her hair go natural & dress her age. I bet there are black hairstylists who could work wonders for her. One of my kids had a genius African American stylist for years when he lived in Brooklyn. He has thick curly hair. Her haircuts were great for the shape of his face & the texture & type of his hair.

I've been amused that Megs is probably ruining her own hair with straigtheners & probably making herself bald by glueing on extensions to have the hair that I had in my teens & twenties. I've removed it now, but my avatar was briefly a pic of me taken 50 years ago! I was very tan because I was a daily swimmer, jogger, cyclist & tennis player in those days. It's not a very good photo because it was taken from a contact sheet, not an actual print. I saved it to show my kids so that they would know that I haven't always been the matronly hausfrau that I am now. They said I looked like a hippie. LOL. I'm not saying Megs needs to look dowdy or matronly, I just think she could still look nice if she dressed for her age & station.

`It's one thing to KNOW something and another to see it splashed all over the press.'

A while back, when we were discussing the various hypotheses, someone mentioned Occam’s Razor. The simplest explanation I can think of is that it’s a criminal conspiracy (blackmail) for gain of cash and power by a v. small group of people (as fingered by Harry Markle).

I wonder if the evidence is known but, were the sordid details to become public, the pain, embarrassment and humiliation would be too much for the Queen, given that she comes from an earlier time when such matters were considered too unacceptable for mention in polite society.

I read an online hint of what it might be and my reaction was
`Is that all? Don’t tell me the details - I don’t want to know!’

Whatever it is, it may not be evidence of criminal activity, yet of something that still needs a strong stomach to contemplate.

Of course, I’m from a different era, one when we still used the word `perversion’, and I trained as a biologist (I’m still astonished sometimes at how squeamishness prevents some of my contemporaries, and younger acquaintances, from knowing anything about their inner workings. )

Today’s generation might not think it was such a big deal.

So, simplest explanation is that it the Queen herself could not bear the revelation, for all that we may think `Each to their own…’

The only loose end I can think of is that there was a mention of the `Wizard of Oz’, whom I take to be Rupert Murdoch. Has anyone an idea of how he might fit in, given that it’s the Murdoch press that H$M are attacking? How would it fit the war between his empire and the Maxwell one? Any thoughts?
In short `Publish and be damned!' is out of the question for the immediate future.

I don't see it was likely that the owner of the mansion is allowing his phone to be used by the Sussex's. Nor would they want to rely on the owner's phone line (could be recorded). But if so, maybe the Russian's got it precisely because the owner is Russian. More likely Harry's cell phone was called, although it seems he is lax to let such a thing happen, bot pranks do occur (these two Russians have a phenomenal track record of doing this).

>>>Someone earlier mentioned the Spencer family. I think its odd that Diana's family have not commented on the exit. Especially odd since the " blood on hands " bit was part of Diana's brothers angry remarks at her funeral, where he stated something about the media and " blood on their hands".<<<

Why would the Spencer's comment now when they haven't been seen to comment on anything about the HAMS to date. Best to stay out of that mess as it is a sinking ship and who wants to go down with it by association. Yes, the phrase "blood on hands" is interesting coincidence, but even I have used that expression in life. Nothing exclusive about it.

>>>Aside from this, in my family, just married couples are always invited out for family dinners, lunches, and all sociable functions, as a way of bonding and introducing them into the family. Why have these two never been invited to such? That's very telling.<<<

We don't know the personal life of the BRF with respect to inviting or not inviting other than what they want reported. I believe it was Meghan who was invited while a fiancé, to the Christmas (in what 2017 or 18) time festivities (where she told Harry he couldn't shoot birds). Then the Sussexx's spent the night at the Cambridges that holiday season as it was crowded at Sandrigham. We did hear that (probably fake PR) that the Queen would pop over to Frogmore for a visit. I haven't read the Wessex's go to see the Cambridges either. Also supposedly Kate and Meg did not get along hence why would the husbands want to have them get together. I have a first cousin relatively close by who has never invited me to his home in 22 years. I don't see it as a slight, just weird. Families are like that sometimes.

Forgot to add about 'tracing the call'.

First of all, criminals (or other sorts with nefarious motivations) buy 'burner phones which are hard/impossible to be traced to the owner. But regardless, these two Russians per se didn't break the law, and besides they not only identified themselves after, they bragged about it. So no need to trace.
I wouldn't put anything past MM.

They want us eating bugs and living in pods in Agenda 21 mega cities. No thanks. If they actually cared about the environment they wouldn’t be jetting all over the place endlessly, the disgusting hypocrites!

The prank call - wow, that is poking a lot of fire ant mounds (his grandmother, brother, Trump and all). Word salad mixed in. He's forgotten the never complain, never explain motto because it makes life so much easier to keep public embarrassments down to a dull roar (and therefore easier to contain).

Artesmia19 - he didn't live through the flashing of all the cameras for the baby shower so it may be not high on his bad life moments I want to forget and more of his trying to tell her that it wasn't a good idea but she is a bit of a runaway train for him trying to contain her "enthusiasm".

Jen - this is the real H play which would explain why it sounded so scripted? That's a thought. Lizzie - maybe he thought it might open some doors, somehow?

SwampWoman - Is she out of touch and really thinks she could step in? IDK. Maybe? If this was a Diana 2.0 play and she thought she would lead the BRF to new fashion heights. Maybe that was some of the underlying issues was that Kate dressed rather like she always did and didn't get into some serious trying out do M in the fashion department in a lot of day to day meet and greets which were photographed. Perhaps M was thinking K would be an easy fashion take down? Some get into the drama of public fighting to show off their skills against a perceived opponent. I will say that Kate could always pull out the bling they never offered to lend M so maybe it was that if Kate were in a position of down, that would raise the profile of M to where the BRF would notice all her talents and so on?

Marie - nice comments about how difficult it is to convince people to make different financial decisions. I used to think it was a tad snipey to comment when the DM would comment of a BRF rewearing some piece of clothing but now that I'm more into the minimalist lifestyle, I like the message that they are thrifty in clothing. (side note: I see a lot of quinceaneras and always think: that money can help pay for college or a wedding people.).

Lemon Tea and KCM1212 - the Spencer family. Yes, they haven't been part of this yet except for the christening. You also remember who wasn't there, her brother who got the entailed property which is making a tidy sum off the visitors to help with maintenance. Now at least one sister, if not both, had connections to HM(work/marriage). I don't think the Spencers will rally in an extended or big way around the brothers.

With these two, it's always something.

Just found this paragraph in a NYTimes article written In February.

"Bob Iger, the chief executive of the Walt Disney Company, abruptly stepped down, replacing himself with another Bob (Chapek, who ran the company’s entertainment theme parks division). Though Mr. Iger had long expressed his desire to leave the company, spectators immediately wondered what his next move would be. A Democratic vice-presidential pick, perhaps?"

The Harkele's alleged buddy, Bob Iger, VPOTUS? Hmmm. I don't know.

OT. I was looking for articles on how COVID-19 was affecting tech businesses, because I noticed that I didn't get the usual quota of harmless spam from companies I've done business with this morning. I've assumed all of that kind of email was just sent automatically from various servers, but humans are involved at some stage. Are they all working from home, or not at all?

As others have pointed out, Travalyst will probably be doing a face plant for the time being.

@Astra Worthington on royal vs frumpy and "Not every woman wants to over sexualize themselves for every occasion".

I love that there's more and more scope for ageing gracefully yet NOT becoming invisible. You'd be amazed how many grey and silver-haired models there are now and only a few give the vibe that they still want to be in their 20s. I let my hair go grey a few years ago, even though the only time in my adult life I've left the house without makeup was in an ambulance (that's true). Men don't care. I'm not invisible. They just appreciate the confidence and assurance it suggests. 'Hot chick' is only one category and I feel sorry for any woman who wants to stay there.

I hope Kate will be able to age with confidence and style. She would be doing yet another service, providing an example to other women negotiating the same path (only those who worry about these things of course). I have confidence in Kate as she's already started the way she means to go on. I loved her birthday photo sitting in jeans on a fence, with her engagement ring bringing just the right balance. She looked as if she'd arrived at a good place and knew where she was going.

@Ava C. Men might even find you more appealing without make-up. It makes you seem less poised & intimidating to them, and yes, men can find women socially intimidating. LOL.

I had an old friend who went prematurely grey in her forties. She looked beautiful. It looked great with her fair coloring, & blue eyes. Her hair color was like a variation of blonde. She's English, coincidentally. My grey hair makes me look as though I'm ill, so it's cheap hair color for me! Luckily hair color has improved a lot over the years. I had friends in my teens who lost hair & damaged it trying to make their already fair hair even blonder. I doubt we'll see Megs go blonde, but it can be hard to predict with her.

Thanks to Sandie for posting the excerpt from Patrick Jephson.

He gets a good bit wrong in the first part, saying that Lord Mountbatten would approve of the Sussexes' tactics in their most recent ambush campaign against the Royal Family. Capturing the Royal Albert Hall without protest and making stately progress to the Royal box, Patrick?

Unless this is just more very well-dressed English snark and I am taking him too literally.

He goes on to compare and contrast the current Sucky Show with Diana's post-divorce career, and what she did right . . and when it started to go wrong for her: the minute she lapsed into the victim narrative via the Panorama interview. (I remember that interview well. I was living in Japan at the time, but it was broadcast 'round the world, in real time. I had a friend, a male Chinese biologist studying at the local university and quizzically, thought I, he was more captivated by Diana's interview than I was. I mean, he made it a specific point to watch it. Just goes to show the incredible global power Diana had to the end. (Memo to Sucka$$es: THAT, children, is 'star reach'.)

Toward the end Patrick comes round to what we have been saying all along:

Perhaps it’s time for the royal high command to ask itself: what would Mountbatten do?<<<

Yes. This, Your Majesty. Time for a regroup and execute what you should have done in January, at the first salvo of Sussex treachery. The way they behaved yesterday would never have been allowed in former days. They never should have been invited back to make a mockery of all your generosity. Please act now. You are still Brittania and they are nothing.

I wonder what Harry thinks how and how often 'most people' travel. He makes is sound as though we are off to somewhere for a night or a long weekend most weeks. Gosh he is so out of touch.

Harry, normal people have an employer, who gives them X days of annual leave a year. In the UK, the minimum is currently 21 days. Most people receive about 25 days a year. The US has a very low annual leave allowance. Do you know what we use our annual leave for? We use it for work around the house, for when our kids get ill, sometimes a day here and there to run errands you cannot do at the weekend or weekdays after work is done, sometimes we use it because we get ill instead of sick leave and YES we do fly somewhere for a week or two ONCE a year. Many families not even that because they cannot bloody afford it. Yes, we do fly somewhere for long weekends, but you could guess by the number of annual leave days we have that this is not usual. It is not like we are off somewhere every month. No, we don't fly somewhere for just one day unless it is business travel required by our employer. We do this to help our employer perform and because we need the money to feed ourselves. Our companies compete with others in the same field and I do not care if I have to travel somewhere for one day of it helps us to succeed.

You are an idiot for thinking that you fly less than 'most people'. Now go away please.

We wanted to be able to remove the unsuitable leader. I know the monarchy's power is now largely ceremonial, but it still should be wielded by the ablest person possible under the rules of succession. The RF recognized that Edward VIII didn't have the right stuff, & they wisely sidelined him. They should do the same with Harry, & certainly Megs. IMO.

If Patrick Jephson was being serious when he used the word 'stylish' in connection with Harry and Meghan's PR blitz against Harry's birth family, I can only direct him to the SussexRoyal (TM--until March 31st) and ask him to have a re-think over his word choices.

Meggy is so hi-lo, I can't wrap my head around it. She pulled out all the stops at the Mountbatten event like it was a Hollywood red carpet in Oz . . and then she shows up at at photo call for the Commonwealth charity looking like a Syrian refugee (not to insult Syrian refugees or their native dress--Meg is the one doing the insulting with her blatant attempt to 'look ethnic'. Why not an 'ethnic' garment that fit her or at least was a color that flattered her, not reminiscent of a giant sweet potato? Why is the effort so lacking 50% or more of the time when the entire point is to get photos for her Instagram account? If the aim is make she and Harry look like sexy, cool, hip, woke great investments going forward, why purposely look like this and choose *that* photo of your husband looking like he's about to take a dump all over the sofa? Why would discrediting Harry now be to her advantage, when he's the only vestige of 'royal' she's got left?

The Palace absolutely HAS to move now. Harry's 'Punk'd' interview where he overtly supports 'extremism' is terrible optics. Whether he was legitimately duped or collaborated willingly in this 'joke', coupled with the animation that went with it and this latest round of pics from the SR page--he looks completely unhinged. Mental. Not in control of his actions at all. What else might he spill to Russian 'pranksters' about the RF; how much has been collected clandestinely while he's been staying at the Russian oligarch's house? Why was this 'vacation spot' not vetted and summarily refused by the Palace when they moved in back in December, pre-Megxit?

These two have literally been doing whatever the hell they want since they teamed up. It's a matter of national security now. If Her Majesty cannot grasp the severity of the situation, or it's being kept from her to keep her life as peaceful as possible . . Good God. Time for Charles to make up with Lord Geidt and let him run the Palace. BP has become a runaway train with the wheels all flying off. And Haz and Mess are merrily laying the charges on the tracks to blow it sky high. If it's the illusion of power and control that matters .. the Queen has allowed herself to lose it. All for an ungrateful, hateful pair of louts that have been nothing but trouble. One since he was born and the other since 2016. I can't bear to think about what is next.

As somebody who used to work with media please let me line up the most damaging points of Harry's unprecedented phone catastrophe:

- The BIGGIE - call for "drastic.. and extreme action". For Harry the disruption and chaos already caused by Extinction Rebellion is not enough. He wants more. Human victims? Massive damage to property? Where is the line? Support of extremism is a crime in most countries.

- Claim that the world is run by "sick people".

- Claim that Trump "has blood on his hands" because he attempts to restore coal industry

- Claim that failure to follow his and Greta's view on ecology "destroyed whole communities"

- Claim that autistic Greta could "outsmart" President of the United States and he is "afraid of her"

- Implication that older people are so "set in their ways" they are useless and can't see what younger generation can see. That is pure ageism.

Ugly and petty attacks include derogatory comments on Queen's "small steps" message and Will's new Environmental Awards Initiative.

Bizarre statements include such gem as "Asked by the prankster playing Greta’s dad Svante if normal life was worse than royal life, Harry replies: “Oh no, I think it’s much better (chuckles)", coupled with the statement that they are "independent from the majority of my family". This is particularly rich coming out right after the tantrum they threw for not being included into the Queen's procession. That is pure and glaring hypocrisy, Harry.

And the cherry on top? it is this:

"We have to fly on commercial planes all over the world. Nowhere near as much as most people who do it for a night or weekends. Certainly for my family, to protect my family, from these people, as you can well understand. I have to put protections and safety of my family first and these people are never-ending."👀

I am not a clinician but it strongly smacks of paranoia not to mention astonishing ignorance about how majority of people live.

Without his granny and daddy Harry wouldn't last a minute, so I am putting this PR disaster firmly at Queen's and Charles' feet.

Nutties,

Maybe later today I will find he story on Royal Foibles which was written well before Meghan Markle came on the scene. The author states Harry has some pretty serious mental health issues and goes into some details. Perhaps this is one the reasons he had a hard time finding a suitable partner until Meghan came onto the scene and was able to manipulate him.

As far as Meghan s last outfit , it reminded more of a character from an Agatha Christie novel where an aggrieved actress marries into the English aristocracy ,has an unfortunate incident and becomes a murderess!

One thing I cannot understand is why Meghan is also looking at the camera and why she is always smiling, no matter what the occasion.

As an actress doesn't she understand her "role " is supposed to change depending on the scene?

Harry has drunk at his wife's poison anti-Trump well, and drunk deep. At this point it's impossible to say whether he ever had an original thought or conviction before getting sucked into her orbit. But for somebody who was Royal for 351/2 years, he did not absorb its most basic tenet: to be neutral about politics publicly because they are supposed to represent *all* the people.

Harry will very shortly be entirely dependent on the goodwill of the United States Department of Immigration, headed by Mr Trump, for his continued legal right to reside in the country. Simply being married to a national (a controversial one who has publicly run down the President and called him a social disease) isn't sufficient if he is deemed an eco-terrorist for his incendiary remarks that are now in the public domain.

Trump wants to remain on the Queen's good side, I believe, and get another visit to London should he get a second term. Barring Harry from the country would not achieve this, unless it would be concert with a strategy by the Palace to force Harry to come back to England for his own mental and physical health. A visa is conditional upon a number of things, including lawful behavior & a visible means of economic support/employment. Since he doesn't have a job, he'll get in on a spousal visa, but that's only valid as long as he remains married to Meg. And the INS has been cracking down hard on cases of couples who do quickie marriages to obtain visas for the foreign national but who are not actually a legitimate co-habiting couple. A light might be shone upon their unconventional domestic arrangements. If Harry gets busted for drug possession, he will be deported and banned from reentering the U.S., ever. A number of British musicians have found themselves in this predicament. That's probably the best-case scenario for Harry, if it's the only way to remove him from Meg's clutches. If she's been banned from the UK and he's banned in America, she'll probably drop him like a hot sweet potato and continue her quest for Hollywood domination without him. Setting up base in another foreign country after having been deported from the States would likely not fly.

Claim that the world is run by "sick people".

- Claim that Trump "has blood on his hands" because he attempts to restore coal industry

- Claim that failure to follow his and Greta's view on ecology "destroyed whole communities"

- Claim that autistic Greta could "outsmart" President of the United States and he is "afraid of her"

But then there is the hypocrisy again. What about the Clintons he has connections to, or PA, or JP Morgan. Oh Harry. You have no idea. You need to stop parroting whatever your wife tells you, get a job at starbucks and live a quiet life. Enjoy the privacy.

I cut myself off before saying that any of Harry's 'claims' about the President are not going to be taken well at all by the target thereof. The question is, will Trump, preoccupied with a reelection campaign and Covy virus be able to laugh it off/ignore (not historically Trump qualities) . . or will there be a war of words on Twitter?

I'm hoping for the former, given Trump's favorable outlook on the Queen. He doesn't want the Special Relationship damaged, and he knows something firsthand about kids making scandals. Let us hope he does not respond in petty, juvenile kind to the jibes of Smeg as coming out of Harry's mouth.

I agree with Hikari, Fairy and others on the disaster of the Harry phone call. In a month from now, all that anyone is going to remember from this period of time (the Final Tour) is Harry's disastrous phone call. That call wiped out anything good that happened on the Final Tour.

People talking about women with gray hair and no makeup -- guys love all this. As I said about Kate, guys like normal and 'real' women. Sure, it's nice to dress up and glam out, but that's not real life day to day. Guys appreciate mature, low-maintenance women. If a woman's entire existence and persona is about trying to project sexuality and hotness (Meg), that gets old and you start to wonder if there is anything beyond that shell.

Harry's environmentalism is so pure that he needed a 10,000 sq. ft. mansion for his family of three as well as constant access to travel by private jet, & Range Rovers at his beck & call.

I'm an elderly person who doesn't want to be bankrupted by my electric & gas bills, which are already about 100 times larger than the ones my parents paid for much higher usage. Our houses always had to be optimum hot & cold. My mom was always too cold, my dad was always to hot. So heating & air conditioning on at full blast all the time in the appropriate seasons.

@Lighthealer Astrid's LinkedIn harassment. There is so much wrong with this article:

1. It claims that William have patched things up and are on good terms. really? And on which planet would that be? Not only are they still estranged, but Kate is also now pissed off with the pair of them (and I reckon it takes a helluva lot to get Kate to that point).

2. It is childish and unrealistic to demand that everyone makes you feel safe (for goodness sake they spend millions on security so they have no clue what it is like to not feel safe), heard (the world is full of rude people and bullies ... just ignore them for heavens sake ... geez Louise those two are thin-skinned and that comes from a person who is always being told I am too 'sensitive') and respected (how would they recognise respect since they have not shown any respect to their families or the people of the UK, world leaders ... and so many others).

Someone on LSA suggested that the perfect lace for them to live would be the North Pole. I agree. Even the South Pole has too many people living there for these crazy people.

Can I add something? I am convinced whoever is behind the prank was fully intending to humiliate Harry and through him, the British Monarchy. For two reasons:

Security for a Russian oligarch will be tougher than at the Buck Palace, so to get the landline number or, even more difficult, Harry's cell number in Canada requires some serious assistance.

Second, it is the children's song they used to make fun of him. You know the text?

Chunga Changa, blue sky, Chunga Changa sunshine the whole year, Chunga Changa, happy life. Our happiness is complete, eat bananas, chew coconuts. Chunga Changa is a miracle island where life is simple and easy. There is no place better, we don't know any trouble.

So they mocked his woke agenda by suggesting this "happy forever place" is ruined by nasty Trump and needs Harry's help!

By the way, the cartoon is charming, listen to the song yourself and watch it.

@Vince,

>>>I am quite sure Trump has already been told about what Harry said, and is not happy about it. <<<

Oh, me too. Seeing as he lives for SM and doesn't sleep more than a few hours a night, he may have found it himself. It would have been foolhardy of any staff member to point out a litany of insults which he was unaware of. Critical language about himself is never taken well. A trait he shares in common with You Know Who. And like her, he never forgets a slight, either. Both have elephantine memories when it comes to grievances. However, I have seen DT moderate himself in regards to certain individuals. Meg's attacks (calling him Syphilis) took him legitimately by surprise because up to that point he'd never heard of Meghan Markle (who had?) and had never said anything against her. She lobbed that homemade petrol bomb simply to be provocative. Apart from the one off-the-cuff response of 'She's nasty', I don't recall Trump ever mentioning her again. He was attacked for calling her nasty, but nice, classy women don't refer to someone they disagree with politically as 'Syphilis'.

Guess I'll be nasty in turn if I observe that no doubt Meg picked that moniker because she has intimate professional experience with syphilitics. Perhaps including herself; lucky for her we've got antibiotics for that these days. Whatever insanity is eating at her mind, it's not due to the syph. Or isn't it? What about Harry? He's not exactly led a choirboy's existence pre-Megsy. The sexual partner history of these two together is . . extensive.

Whatever is going on with these two in the upper storeys, the Sussex marriage is not a temple of rationality even for the length of a NYC baby shower minute.

If Mr. Trump can practice the art of diplomatic silence when it comes to being heckled by the Harkles, I will give credit where credit is due. I wonder if Donny feels compelled to ring up the Queen and offer her his support. If he does so, I am sure he will want us to know about it. The issue of the Harkles having security provided by the United States government or any state and local governments is certainly going to be a talking point.

My feeling is, it will NOT be tolerated. Being forced to pay the costs of freeloading Royals to these shores is something we put our collective foot down in the firmest possible terms back in 1776. Haz flunked history, so he may have missed the memo that the U.S. is not a Commonwealth nation anymore, thanks to his great grandfather 5 times removed, George III. Otherwise, he could just bulldoze into his pick of any Malibu mansion Meg set her eyes on,inhabited or no, and claim 'eminent domain'

Based on their behavior during this last 'tour', I don't see evidence that it's really dawned on Harry or Meg what 'no longer royal'--their choice--is actually going to entail. They wanted to stay royal, just not do any work for Her Majesty in exchange for it. Meg's fairly new to the franchise, but Harry's never been anything but Royal. The novelty of going to Subway for his own lunches is going to wear off quick.

My guess is no Twitter war. Just because, as you said, of how he feels about the Queen. But Trump doesn't forget, and I'm sure Harry will end up getting some payback coming his way when the time comes.

>>>The thing is.. Harry is right that the world is run by sick people.<<<

I guess it depends on how you define 'run' and 'sick'. I personally think Harry has benefitted all his life on the Queen and the Parliament 'running' his country of birth and residence for all his life. Does he think the Queen is 'sick'?

I must be a 'Pollyanna' as I don't think the world is run by sick people. Maybe greedy people, but greed is not by itself a pathological psychiatric illness. Indeed, Harry seems to be sick in terms of psychiatric pathology. I used to think he should be able to go off and do his own thing, but now I agree the Queen or PC needs to have him committed and a psychiatric evaluation be completed and hopefully treatment started before he does harm to himself or others (such as inciting rabid fans to commit ecoterrorism).

Harry is an utter laughingstock now. I hope Trump responds with a tweet on Harry, along the lines of what he said about Meghan's rude remarks ("I didn't know she was nasty"). Harry is beyond stupid for all the world to see. Who possibly would ever want to align themselves with a fruitcake as he has turned out to be. I am still chuckling over the prank call! Harry has no intention of "living a quiet life". Pay very close attention to whom he aligns himself with and you will have questions answered. He is now in one camp and the Monarchy is in another as evidenced by the fake phone call. Since I haven't read about any retractions we are to assume this really did happen. Did his camp set it up just so he could get his thoughts out there again? I wouldn't put it past them. What can the Queen do about a private prank call that was released without his permission?

I still can hardly fathom how this man can so callously and without remorse turn his back completely on his grandparents and brother, plus many other family members. I can see how he may resent Charles, but his father has done so much to try to atone for his past sins. It is mind boggling to say the least.

Well, that was what, 4 private jet flights in about a week and a half last summer, Harry? Partying in Ibiza and going to Elton's house were profoundly important things, sure. Much more important than introducing your son to his extended family, for instance.

The trip to Rome for Mischa's wedding was only a weekend . . unless 2 days turns into 7 when one is living 'la vida bella' in Roma.

Memo to the Duke: I have not flown on a plane since 2005, so I have missed thousands of frivolous weekenders. I've traveled by long distance coach and I took the Amtrak once. But I am not as ecologically responsible as you, check.

At this point, I'm convinced that Meg has H's brains so scrambled, he doesn't know what he's saying any more. I doubt he'd pass the competency test were he to stand trial. So can we really hate him? He's so mentally impaired I think it's gone into 'not responsible due to mental disease or defect.'

Perhaps what we see as the RF's complacency/inaction/fear at seeming to capitulate to the Sussex terrorism is them painfully and with regret actually allowing Haz to destroy himself. If he's been as difficult and volatile behind the scenes for years--and we are starting to see that Harry has always been highly 'special' but not in a good way--everyone must be exhausted. He's been their lunatic in the attic, and they have set him loose on the world.

Meggy swore she'd never set foot again in America while Trump is President. She lies about everything so I expect to see her here any day. She'll do Oprah, Ellen, Gayle, the View, the late night talk shows . . demand to host the Oscars, and petition the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce for a star on the Walk of Fame. (Just her, not Harry). She should ask Kim K. about how well that worked out for *her*. Turns out even the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce demands evidence of some notable professional accomplishment in the performing arts, and celebrities can't just buy one. No doubt a group of Meg sugars will take up a collection and apply on her behalf. Well, they can *try*.

I am a lifelong Texan-and we are big huggers. However, I also know that not all folks are “huggy” types, so I don’t go hugging people I’m not friends or family with. Meg is a walking/word salad talking “in your face” American stereotype. Please know not all Americans are like this.
Hikari said…
Meg doesn't get it.

Hugging is not Royal. Catherine probably hugs when it's appropriate, like when visiting her family. Among close friends. Not on official engagement.

Meg hugs all the time and it's all fake. No one, particularly small children *wants* to be hugged by her, but she forces them to to prove how popular, beloved, saint-like even she is.

Meg's hugs actually constitute assault.
Sandie said…
I am not a hugging sort of person. Some years ago I tried to be as it was fashionable then but it always made me feel uncomfortable, so now I do not hug. That does not mean that I am not sympathetic or empathetic or that there is anything wrong with me ... plus, it is useful to be a non-hugger in times of COVID-19!

I am astonished that Meghan thinks it is a good idea to bad mouth Harry's family. Plus she is talking a load of rubbish. The BRF do not do the fake smiling and hugging that Meghan does, but they are warm with each other and the Cambridges and their cousins are all tactile and loving with their children and each other (they just do not act like teenagers on a date when they are doing official duties and representing the Queen).

Meghan's recent comments about this being confirmation they made the right decision is asinine, and truly shows that SHE will never take responsibility for HER part in all of this. As Unknown said, she is vile.

From what I have gathered here, Brits don't hug at all but their closest family and friends (Not sure about the friends either to be honest). She has no regard for other cultures and their beliefs. I don't hug EVERYONE either. I would be uptight too if my SIL and BIL are trying to destroy my family and calling me a racist. She is so damn clueless.

Dallas Alice - did you notice at the bottom of the DM article is said something about the end of the month is Medexit - ok, we all knew that.

What I didn't notice was the DM pointedly saying that the decision is not binding and no documents have or will be signed.

I wonder what, if anything, was signed by JH? Agreement on a handshake only works if everyone will follow what was agreed upon. And, anything not in writing is subject to memory alteration to one's favor.

About MM'attacks on DC- I guess now it is clear why MM received such a chilly reception in the chapel. It must be really bad if DC couldn't bring herself to force a small smile toward the viper knowing the world was watching. My heart goes out to her.

For some reason Charles and HM are standing down. It is hard to watch all of this unfold and what is worse is that we in the US are likely to be stuck with them.

My guess is that the BRF are standing firm on their old adage of, "Never complain, never explain". However, they need to seek guidance from professionals who have dealt with victims of maligant narcs. That stance does not work on the narc. They juat become more vitriolic and seek to do more harm. They have no feelings for anyone they seek to destroy.

@Hikari - It’s time for a strategic reassessment. An immediate clean break and withdrawal of those concessions regains the initiative for the Palace and is the shortest route to long-term resolution. However bad the response, it’s a price worth paying to assert control over the future credibility of the monarchy.

The alternative is a year in which the duke and duchess conduct stylish surprise raids on royalty’s function, reputation and dignity.
i

Absolutely (yes to @Unknown too). The Queen should have taken their ball away and gone home. Instead they're cavorting all over the world's stage with it, Harry as a circus clown while Meghan's in the tackiest sequinned cheerleader's getup you can buy for £32K.

@Hikari: Yep, Meghan is tone deaf to what is actually going on in the world. Lots of people are not comfortable with hugging and there are many context where it is considered an assault. People in an official public role should not set an example of hugging strangers being OK.

Talking about inappropriate physical contact ... that is some heavy sentence that Harvey Weinstein got. It did not surprise me as in each encounter he was the one with power. Like Meghan, he just seems incapable of understanding!

Oooh the Telegraph fashion editor has annoyed me. I don't read their articles on Meghan as they never allow comments and it's infuriating to be told what a great example and influence Meghan is without the right of reply. However the Telegraph got past my defences by emailing it to me in their Telegraph royal round-up bulletin. Here's a clip just to annoy you all too:

Headline: Kate looks back as Meghan looks forward

"The climax of Meghan’s farewell style spectacular came on Monday afternoon, when she and Harry joined the other royals for the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey. For what was undoubtedly a poignant moment, Meghan chose an optimistic grass green look by New Zealand-born designer Emilia Wickstead. It came complete with a dramatic cape detail which gave the impression that she really was about to fly away back to Canada. Green is the colour of spring, nature and new beginnings so the message really couldn’t have been clearer.

"While Meghan’s focus was firmly on the future, the Duchess of Cambridge’s look reflected a more nostalgic mood. She chose to wear a red Catherine Walker coat last seen on Christmas Day at Sandringham in 2018, when Kate and Meghan put on a good show of chatting happily as they walked to church with the rest of the Royal family. How times have changed."

How about Kate showing greater awareness for the environment and our rapidly tanking economy (Brexit costs PLUS officially confirmed pandemic)? Wearing something she had already, that was elegant and appropriate? Warm reassuring colour? Rather than that expensive, ill-fitting and just plain silly green monstrosity that will probably never be worn again.

I just came across your earlier comment:

>>>The other character who comes to mind as regards to how Meg carries herself in public is Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman (which I think may have been a Mary Poppins knock off). When I think of Meg, this is my concept of her.<<<

Mary Poppins is the nanny with the mostest, who gets children to behave in a starchy Victorian yet magical, twinkly manner. Her charges love her. Maybe a bit like the Cambridge nanny Maria Borallo, with more stylish threads. That odious brown uniform of the Norland Nannies is a crime against humanity. I hope Maria gets to wear her own clothes when the family is just at home. The uniforms may have been devised that ugly on purpose, to keep the master of the house's eye from wandering to the nanny.

You are thinking of Eliza Doolittle, of 'My Fair Lady' fame (from the earlier 'Pygmalion'by George Bernard Shaw.) Pretty Woman is a riff on My Fair Lady, but I feel the need to stand up for Eliza, who does come to Professor Higgins like a diamond in the rough from the lowest of the social orders. She may be poor, but she's not dumb, she's not a sl*t, she has an intrinsic dignity & honesty, and she's not ashamed of her family, even though she's got a doozy of a dad.

Better than Meg in every conceivable way. The big difference is that Eliza genuinely applies herself with her utmost to learning her new role, and she masters it. Meg is incapable of learning because being willing to be instructed also requires humility enough to accept that she doesn't know everything and there is always room for improvement. Meg rejects unilaterally the idea that she's not already perfection, a goddess in human form.

The reality of her is so far short of what she thinks of herself in her own mind, it'd be risible if it weren't so infuriating . . and chilling, in the way she damages people. But that's disordered thinking for you. Until the general media starts publicizing her mental illness and stops treating her as the Great Woke Princess who liberated Harry from his chains of princely life and expectations for his conduct, this is only gonna get worse. The media and Meg stans are as crazy as she and Harry are . . echo chambers abounding. I didn't realize just how much insanity was running rampant in the world until Meg shone a light on it.

I'm a Trump fangurl, but if he negatively influences Harried's visa application out of spite, I'll be pissed. Not that I want the Markles here, but Harried either meets the qualifications, or he doesn't. The POTUS shouldn't be getting personal about such things. I wouldn't put it past the ol' goat, but he's the son of a British immigrant, and I think he adores Queen Elizabeth as much as I do. (OT, I don't know if any of you have seen the old documentary where Trump's mother is interviewed, but I highly recommend it. It's on youtube. What a darling lady. You can see where he got the hair from! And the funny little mouth, which is cute on her)

My illusions about Harry are well and thoroughly destroyed. He really does sound thick as bricks, and absolutely bitter. As much as I despise Meghan, this debacle reached the heights (depths?!) that is has because Harry was more than willing to fall in lockstep with her. She may have exploited his bitterness and paranoia, but he is apparently every bit as woke as she is.

We won't ever be as rid of Nutmeg and Ginger as fully as we'd like, but I still maintain the BRF had been handling this as well as can be expected. They wanted JH back, and I honestly believe they could have forgiven Nutmeg, and let her start over.

Now that his being so dismissive about HM and William is in the public domain, the BRF may well have to take a harder stance. I'm sure they weren't surprised, I suspect Harry is pretty open with his opinions in private. Him badmouthing his family to relative strangers is a totally different thing, in my opinion. Doubly embarrassing that it was made public, but it's pretty awful to find out he's running his mouth like that to seemingly everyone he runs into.

Meghan looks great from the neck up in that CW photo; a lovely woman, with minimal makeup and normal looking hair. But as per her usual, she had to eff it up with that dress. I agree with whoever says she is mostly wearing clothes she's been given to merch. (Probably still has to pay a nominal fee til after the 31st. Or will she still be under restrictions even after then to not accept freebies since she still has the HRH?)

Using a pic that shows Harry looking like an absolute mental patient is flabbergasting to me. The least evil reason would be that she really does look pretty in that shot, so she went with it anyway, but we know she knows how to Photoshop! She could have cut a better shot of Harry in to it. Maybe they think it makes them look like "normal" people? But then she should have looked as goofy, too.

She absolutely did it to make herself look better (maybe even regal?) by contrast. She is scary-crazy.

Well it didn't take long!

After Commonwealth Day, there is a fresh "behind the scenes" post to IG, Harry getting pranked by Russians posing as Greta Thurnberg (didn't MM feature her in the Vogue magazine)? and MM's friends leaking to the DM that "Kate's the worst" (I'm paraphrasing). I think I know who is the source for the DM story.

Dear God, bless and protect the Cambridges. I am glad they didn't sit MM behind Kate. I think MM feels flames of fury for Kate for many reasons, but also because Harry seems to truly care about her.

There was a comment made on Tumblr I believe awhile back. Someone who had worked with her as a director stated, and I'm paraphrasing, that MM was the meanest person she had ever met. I believe it.

Not once in 40 years have I ever thought they were cold; I understood the cultural differences right from the start.

Meghan is supremely self-absorbed to start with, and she was brought up in Wokesville, which means she views life through the lens of victimhood. If she comes across something that doesn't suit her, it can only be because of racism, bullying, the coldness of the other person, etc.

Spectacular doesn't have to mean good. It means 'extremely visually stunning or memorable. My eyes are stunned every time I see a picture of Meg but not in a good way.

. . .came on Monday afternoon, when she and Harry joined the other royals for the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey. For what was undoubtedly a poignant moment, . ..

Well, Haz did have a glazed face of "What the hell have I done?" "Poignant" signifies soem regret and nostalgia which was decidedly absent from the faces around the Harkles. When Her Majesty passes on, I do not expect the faces to look more grim than they did on Monday.

. . .Meghan chose an optimistic grass green look by New Zealand-born designer Emilia Wickstead.

Optimistic green like the grass in Chernobyl, maybe. Or Orc blood. I have not personally seen any grass occurring in nature of that particular bilious shade.

. .It came complete with a dramatic cape detail which gave the impression that she really was about to fly away back to Canada . . .

This is when 'taking the p!ss came to mind

>>Green is the colour of spring, nature and new beginnings so the message really couldn’t have been clearer.<<<

That Meg has no clue how to dress.

See above radioactive grass/Orc blood comparison. Meg did not choose green because it says 'new beginnings'. It was a final FU about emeralds and not being gifted green as her proprietary color. And because Kate looked fab in it in Ireland.

. . ."While Meghan’s focus was firmly on the future, the Duchess of Cambridge’s look reflected a more nostalgic mood. She chose to wear a red Catherine Walker coat last seen on Christmas Day at Sandringham in 2018, when Kate and Meghan put on a good show of chatting happily as they walked to church with the rest of the Royal family. . .

Putting on a show is right. The Christmas of the infamous scarfing and Meg's rapacious claw grasping at Kate to get herself into the picture with the Duchess of Cambridge was not 'happy times'. It was more fakery of tolerance on both sides that really never existed. Catherine had to sacrifice Christmas Day with her own family to prop up the narrative that Meg's presence makes anyone happy at Christmas or any other time.

That coatdress C. wore is stunning and deserved to be seen again, at more length. Furthermore, it was in keeping with the CW day dress code which Meg blatantly violated with her putrid green supergirl number. Anyway, since Megsie resembled Joan Crawford in her overwrought ensemble, how is that fresh, contemporary or forward-looking? She looks like she was dressed for an amateur drawing room comedy production . .or a Halloween party with the theme "Old Hollywood".

My patients were from all backgrounds and ethnicities and if you have a mind beyond just thinking about yourself, you pick up these cues and try not to offend. Meghan is so up her own ass (sorry) that she has no idea what it is like to think of others. Doling out hugs like the recipient should feel privileged? Meg, just stop it. Another great topic from Nutty - I just thought I would point out an interesting fact:

The Harkles are staying in a Russian oligarch's house and JH has been caught out by a couple of Russian pranksters. Add to this that the London Evening Standard, which posted those "un-allowed" pics of MM that over-shadowed Camilla's important speech, is owned by - you've guessed it - a Russian oligarch named as Alexander Lebedev.

Don't the coincidences just pile up?

You get a smart publisher and fast ghost writers and it can be on sale in 6 months or less.
Plus a book would give them enough juice to get on Oprah and similar talk shows. To get on Late Night Shows. UK media too from their Marvelous Malibu Manse. A book will help them branch out into Hollywood. And Megs favorite delusion of Hollywood producer.

Megs allegedly took videos and photos in and about Buckingham Palace. Include these to.

2 more things:

1. Bizarre exchange on Greta marrying Prince George

Have you seen the comment about George in the transcript (found on DM)?

Fake Greta says she a distant member of the Swedish royal family
Harry replies with a chuckle: 'Oh wow, so we are related?'
Greta says: 'Yeah its true, and if it will help me in fighting for climate change, should I arrange a dynastic marriage, do you think? I think it'll help.”
The prince is heard responding: 'I am certain it'll help'
The giggling 'Greta' - aged 17 - then says: 'I found some candidates that suits me - James Windsor and PRINCE GEORGE. 'Their ages I think are very suitable for my marriage. It will help..'
Harry then replies laughing: 'I am sure I can help.'

If Kate & William read the transcript of the recording before the commonwealth service I do understand the frozen atmosphere.

2. Post farewell tour

Of course, Meghan takes advantage of that event to portray herself as a victim and to attack Kate.

There is something else quite interesting in one of her alleged friends’ comments : “It's still weird to her that no one hugs and that everyone is so uptight, especially Kate. She said it's obvious that Kate and William do not approve of their choices and that you could cut the tension with a KNIFE. Kate barely even looked at her and their interaction was kept to a bare minimum”.
I don’t believe the use of the word « knife » is a coincidence!

She also takes the opportunity to justify why she left Archie behind. She has no shame!

If you expressed an opinion (like most of what we write here) as a taxpayer, I don't see how it could be actionable for libel. I hate to see you have to pay for an attorney. You might want to see if there is free Legal Aid (like we have in the states for those who can't afford an attorney) or you may even find a lawyer who will give you a free consultation.

You also might contact the authorities who you think are concerned about your remarks and inquire if they have any reason to have done what you said. In the US, we can ask for any and all records about ourselves to be released under the 'Freedom of Information Act' if we pay a small fee generally (there might be a comparable law in your country). If there is an actual criminal investigation they would not release documents but you would then know that something is going on.

We tend to be afraid of the unknown, hence the reason to find out the truth to allay your fears hopefully. Good luck but I don't think you have anything to be worried about. I have a anecdote that my father, a physician wrote some letters in Russian to a doctor(s) in the USSR during the Cold War in the late 50's. Well lo and behold, the FBI shows up to our home to inquire why he was doing such a thing. He simply explained the reason was due to medical curiosity about what these physicians were doing and that was the end of that. My father was a well-read man who spent hours reading medical journals every evening and just learned Russian for the heck of it. But my mother was certainly frightened by the visit.

My God, yes! If I were Kate, I'd never take it off, I swear I wouldn't. IIRC, she has a deep green full length coat in a similar style, and that look just suits her to perfection. Beyond perfection. She has also hit her stride in hats. That tilted up style is sooo hard to pull off, but she makes it look as if it was made just for her. I think you said earlier that she looks like she stepped out of a 19th century portrait, and it is so true.

I am far from a Kate stan, and in fact never really warmed up to her til the children came along. (Didn't dislike her at all, just found her rather meh) Now, however, I think she is a treasure. I don't think she was any less calculating in getting her Prince than Meghan was, to be brutally honest, (I also believe Diana had a master plan with Charles) but she is an impeccable Duchess and will be a wonderful Queen, as well.

She has certainly shown the world what class and elegance are, and I think she'd sooner die before appearing in public in dirty shoes. (I am never going to get over that, am I?)

He has lost companionship with his Great-grandmother, a Queen, his Great-grandfather who will probably leave this world before he gets much older (and never have a chance to visit), his Granddad Charles, his Aunts and Uncles on both sides and all cousins. Harry and Meg have committed a familial genocide for which poor Archie can do nothing about. It is one thing for them to be self-centered but they have taken the very normal childhood delight of such relatives and denied their child. They are not only heartless toward the BRF they are heartless even with respect to their own son.

Harry I believe will rue the day he made this epic life-changing decision. Meg will leave him I have no doubt, but not before terrible damage (indeed already has happened) will have been done to himself, his son and the family members who loved him so much (and probably still love although they are unhappy).

I just hope the HAMS crash and burn with their feeble attempts for financial success as a sort of cosmic comeuppance for the harm they have caused. However, the hilarious prank (which I have now read more about) has caused me to laugh so hard over and over. Harry's stupidity is like a gift that keeps on giving. I will never be able to read anything, absolutely ANYTHING, about Harry and keep a straight face. He might as well get a tattoo across his forehead saying 'Fool'. There is no way back from him on this prank. If anyone questions whether he might just be naïve, or a little deficient intellectually, now there is no question.

I would be shocked if Greta would even want to talk to Harry as he is so stupid. She would be tainted by association with him IMO. Forget going to Stanford, or any University and expect to get help for his environmental ideas. Even throwing money at scientists would not help. No respecting scientist would want their reputation tarnished by being associated with a public idiot. He might as well as abandon Travalyst because now people will question anything he promotes. I can't see any organizations paying big bucks to hear anything he has to say. He is a zero.

Not sure if it's posted here...From Blind gossip :

This actress was the one who leaked to the media that her family member might be having an affair.

At the time we tried to give her the benefit of the doubt.

After all, she was new to the family. Perhaps she didn’t understand that family secrets must not be shared with anyone outside the family?

In retrospect, we may have been a little naive.

We’ve since learned that she has always loathed her sister in law. It was like one big competition for her.

She hated how much everybody – ESPECIALLY her husband – liked [SIL]. She hated how popular [SIL] was and how everyone saw her marriage and children as being so perfect. She hated that she would always have to stand or sit or walk behind [SIL]. She even hated how fat she felt standing next to [SIL].

That’s a lot of hate.

If she knocked [SIL] down a few pegs, it would make her own popularity go up. That’s why she leaked the rumor about the affair. It didn’t mater if it was true or not. She wanted to embarrass [SIL]. It would have been even better if it had killed their “perfect” marriage and split up their “perfect” family.

Yikes. That is cold.

Even colder are the other tricks she apparently had in her back pocket.

There were discussions of leaking all sorts of other, nastier rumors (substance abuse, bad mother, eating disorder) about [SIL]. Didn’t matter if it was true or not. Anyway, the timing of the affair rumor was just too perfect to pass up!

So, now that the two couple are getting a lot more distance from each other, the nastiness should stop, right?

Maybe not.

Actress managed to take another swipe at SIL as she was walking out the door.

Cold."

Well we all know how she is..but I felt chill reading this...she's a total psycho if this one is true!

Some other blogs have been claiming the Harry prank call was scripted & arranged by Megs. I have no idea what's true, but Richard Palmer's recent Daily Express article highlights all of the most Megsy talking points. Some of Harry's statements do sound a lot like Megs sticking it to the RF. The headline is 'Prince Harry's brutal swipe at Queen & Prince William over climate change.' I guess to Richard Palmer the Harkles might as well both be Americans.

https://www.express.co.uk/news/royal/1254005/prince-harry-news-prince-William-the-queen-prank-call-hoax-royal-family-news

If Harry didn't seem so under Megs' thumb he might have once been appealing as some sort of 'rebel prince.' As it is, he just seems sort of whiney & self righteous. I've read somewhere that Charles once regretted that he couldn't act out like the rest of his generation of baby boomers, (including me). I wonder if he tolerates Harry more than he should because Harry is the bad boy he could never be. Silly speculation, I know.

Nutties,

These are excerpts from Royal Foibles December 2014:nsofar as outward appearances are concerned, Prince Harry seems on top of the world. Thanks to his older brother’s fundamental, which some would characterize as arrogant, and certainly enabled aloofness, coupled with his resolute desire to retain his pseudo military career for as long as humanly possible, Harry has now emerged as the most popular royal within his grandmother’s realm, barring, of course, Her Majesty. Between flying all over the world engaging in fundraising efforts for several noteworthy charitable organizations, giving a PSA in support of his personal charity, Sentebale, which as of yesterday appears to have gone viral on the Internet, and recently organizing an Olympics style competition for wounded British veterans, His Royal Highness’ career as a full time working royal is clearly progressing from strength to strength. His personal life, at least outwardly, also seems to be running smoothly.

When one takes more than a cursory glance at Britain’s current fourth in line to the throne, however, one discovers that all is definitely not what it appears. According to various sources reputedly close to Harry and at least one of his ex girlfriends, some of whose commentary has recently appeared in The Daily Mail as well as The Daily Telegraph, both publications being well known for their all but out in the open back channels to the Court of St. James, let alone the Royals themselves, Harry’s grappling with an increasingly growing sense of loneliness owing to several factors: his failure to find a suitable wife to settle down with, an equally gnawing feeling of professional futility, frustration and dejection owing to him having been forced to resign his military career and his desperate desire to resume it, and his jealousy directed toward an older brother whose married, happy with his wife, the proud father of a growing family, who’s also being allowed to pursue his piloting career despite being the heir presumptive to the throne. Additionally, and above all else, Harry’s bedeviled by a growing fear that, like his great aunt, Princess Margaret, before him, he’s destined to be left on the shelf by the eligible marital partners of his generation while his friends, family, and ex girlfriends all get happily married off and start families.

In an article published in the August 4 issue of The Daily Mail entitled Loneliness of Prince Harry: Dumped by BOTH of his great loves, jealous of William’s happy family – and about to turn 30, and curiously not attributed to a specific journalist, the details of Harry’s private torment are laid out a little too intricately to be merely armchair speculation and nothing more. Aside from his red hair and personable approach to strangers during public engagements, both attributes he clearly inherited from his mother, His Royal Highness has long been rumored to have also inherited from the late Diana, Princess of Wales a love of media attention, an inability to distinguish between the words “public” and “private”, and a need to seek validation from the press, as well as harboring a desire to control his own media image, by leaking to select papers stories concerning his private life.

Part December 2014 Royal Foibles

Far from standing in his way, the Prince of Wales’ press office seems willing to indulge Harry’s burgeoning relationship with the press, perhaps if only to mollify a prince long rumored to be emotionally unstable.

The greatest indiscretion, in the author’s opinion, revealed in this piece regarding Harry’s relationship with Miss Bonas is the revelation that Harry at one point texted and called Cressida incessantly virtually everyday and emotionally clung to her metaphorical teat as only a new born infant or mentally handicapped adult could.

This leads to the final reason why His Royal Highness is rumored to be facing such turmoil in his private life: that being that he’s engulfed in a burgeoning fear that he’ll spend the rest of his life alone. While there remains no shortage of acceptable young ladies willing to date Harry, few of them, for the reasons the author just specified, wish to carry their liaison with him beyond the casual stage. Aside from many of them choosing not to spend the rest of their lives in the gilded cage that is life as a senior ranking royal, there are ongoing whispers that Harry, despite being a fundamentally good hearted and well intentioned man, just isn’t emotionally mature or stable.
The next source of Harry’s ongoing private distress concerns his halted military career.
Harry had resigned his post as an Apache helicopter pilot in exchange for a desk job in London organizing royal events. While still retaining a commission as a captain in the Blues and Royals army regiment, no timeline was officially set for when he would return to active duty. There are few who doubt the real reason why this career shift occurred, and there are some who blame the Duke of Cambridge for it. It was, after all, announced shortly afterwards that Prince William was being granted his wish to return to his military career, this time as an ambulance pilot, which he’ll balance out with semi regular public engagements.

According to one unnamed source in the Daily Mail article, this career change prompted a brief ” depressive episode” for Harry.

Oh my heavens me, @CatEyes "RATBAG." I haven't heard that in decades - since I left the UK in fact. It was hugely popular at one point. I think Jimmy Tarbuck (comedian) made it so. "Gormless" is another one that was popular back in the UK.

I think the message that the photo of Zara and the little boy is:
Take a look everyone. This is the only time you will see a Royal with a little redheaded tyke named Archie.

Meghan's navy blue cravat dress at the secret Commonwealth scholars meeting is probably her best dress this whole trip. It would have been appropriate for the Abbey service.

Just recently I read a media article where they referred to Harry as 'gormless', pretty sure it was a UK publication.

I looked up these words because I got tired of referring to Harry as 'stupid' and an 'idiot'. Now I have plenty of words to use. I am sure I will have many opportunities to do so also. lol

Meghan leaking to the press about how Kate is uptight, this is not unplanned. By that I mean she likely is doing this to further promote the idea of a feud and by extension, staying relevant as a tabloid fodder here in the US. She's doing this for the US market so she couldn't give a rat's ass if the Brits now hate her more than ever and for good reasons. By now going after the future Queen Consort, Meghan is only doing what many 2nd tier celebs past their sell-by date have been known to do.

That is, increase press coverage and staying in the limelight and at the same time making themselves seemingly on par with their more esteemed or popular targets. The attempt to gain gravitas by virtue of being in a feud with someone of higher stature. This is exactly what Meghan is now doing with Kate. She is now actively pursuing a public feud with not just the RF but specifically with Kate. To her, this is a win-win situation in that she garners media coverage and she ensures that the press is there to cover her en masse whenever she jets back to the UK to attend family functions. That way, she's guaranteed front page photos of her wearing varieties of garish or inappropriate outfits next to or in the vicinity of Kate. The press is always salivating over a good catfight-celeb feud story, and Meghan can be sure at least be the focus of a few days' headlines. She needs to keep this feud-victim narrative going in order to stay on the front pages.

The other positive in her mind from all of this, is in the form of indirect threat to the RF as a whole. She's basically using the media via her "friends" that more will come out if the RF doesn't give her/ Harry what they want. She's saying to the Queen essentially hey look, if you think calling Kate "uptight" is bad, wait until what I'll say about all of you. What Meghan doesn't realize is that the bridge she's burning isn't just with the RF, but it's also with potential sponsors and studios/ producers who are considering working with the Sussexes. Apart from considering Meghan as a controversial to much-hated figure in the UK, those who are interested in working with the Sussexes must now also be attuned to the fact that she is a toxic person who has zero qualms about airing dirty laundry in public while playing victim. Producers will want to run the other direction, as she's not an established draw who makes the studios money, unlike say a Robert Downey Jr. who in his druggie days was still talented an a big enough draw to make the producers overlook his flaws. Meghan? Forget about it, she and Harry will never have the sort of media/ Hollywood careers they envision themselves having.

You don't diss your SIL the future queen consort who's also very popular, for no good reason. I don't believe Meghan to be stupid as to not realize the ramifications of doing this. Her lip service to feminism takes a hit, isn't feminism about supporting women to be individuals? Why is Meghan castigating Kate for not being as fun as how she thinks of herself to be? Is that some form of skewed feminism, one in which 40-year-old women flirts with teenager boys they'd ask to speak on Women's Day events? In this form of feminism, is a woman supposed to express hatred for any other women, even a relative, to whom she feels jealousy towards?

I don't think Meghan did this without forethought but I also believe she didn't fully think things through. It hurts her self-styled feminist label to bash other women for being "uptight". That is something that women in the public eye have had to contend with as a put-down. She should have known better IF she was a real feminist-humanitarian as she claims to be. But she's not so she didn't fully consider the hit she'll be taking for doing this very un-feminist thing of attacking other females for being "uptight".

A Quiet Interlude

Not much appears to be going on. Living Legends came and went without fanfare ... what's the next event?   Super Bowl - Sunday February 11th?  Oscar's - March 10th?   In the mean time, some things are still rolling along in various starts and stops like Samantha's law suit. Or tax season is about to begin in the US.  The IRS just never goes away.  Nor do bills (utility, cable, mortgage, food, cars, security, landscape people, cleaning people, koi person and so on).  There's always another one.  Elsewhere others just continue to glide forward without a real hint of being disrupted by some news out of California.   That would be the new King and Queen or the Prince/Princess of Wales.   Yes there are health risks which seemed to come out of nowhere.  But.  The difference is that these people are calmly living their lives with minimal drama.

As Time Passes and We Get Older

I started thinking about how time passes when reading some of the articles about the birthday.  It was interesting to think about it from the different points of view.  Besides, it kind of fits as a follow up the last post (the whole saga of can the two brothers reunite). So there is the requisite article about how he will be getting all kinds of money willed to him from his great-grandmother.  There were stories about Princess Anne as trustee (and not allowing earliest access to it all).  Whether or not any or all of this is true (there was money for him and/or other kids) has been debated with claims she actually died owing money with the Queen paying the debts to avoid scandal.  Don't know but I seem to remember that royal estates are shrouded from the public so we may not (ever) know. However, strange things like assisting in a book after repeated denials have popped up in legal papers so nothing is ever really predicable.   We are also seein...

The Opening Act of New Adventures in Retail

I keep thinking things will settle down to the lazy days of spring where the weather is gorgeous and there is a certain sense of peacefulness.  New flowers are coming out. increasing daylight so people can be outside/play and thinking gardening thoughts.  And life is quiet.  Calm. And then something happens like a comet shooting across the sky.  (Out of nowhere it arrives and then leaves almost as quickly.)   An update to a law suit.  Video of the website is released (but doesn't actually promote any specific product which can be purchased from the website).  A delay and then jam is given out (but to whom and possible more importantly - who did not make the list?).  Trophies almost fall (oops).  Information slips out like when the official date of beginning USA residency.  (now, isn't that interesting?) With them, it's always something in play or simmering just below the surface.  The diversity of the endeavors is really ...
