I am talking about Catherine and Trooping the Color.
It's barely over a week away and will she/won't she decision is leaning toward not in public media.
The ceremony is almost three and a half hours beginning really at 10, parade starting 10:30 and flyover at 1.
That's a long time even if you are sitting. Especially if you have not been out in public in a long time plus you have or feel you have to be the face of being the parent while your spouse is busy being officially second to His Majesty. And He won't be on a horse this time (uproar over tradition).
Yeah but, but ... what if she showed up for just part of it, like the flyover?
OH, that would be heartwarming after worrying about her as she has been coping with her disease.
But ... eh, my guess is not. Just because if she showed up, it would become the Catherine's back show instead of the celebration of the King's birthday. And Catherine is known for being able to be in the background in public royal settings which are focused on someone else (ie not spotlighting themselves).
She might be ready to come back but may well decide this is not the time or the place to do that. Marrying into any royal family comes with lots of opportunities to be gracious to the public but also to the other family members.

It kinda makes sense now that Rache was near naked in Nigeria; it's because she's desperate financially, and needs to get some money, big money, rolling in. If she is still feeling poorly and looking ill, I don’t expect her to show her face before the summer holidays are over.
The longer she stays out of the public eye, the more I am concerned that her illness is grave. The increasingly frail QEII had her terminal condition for probably a couple of years but still turned up smiling. Is Catherine even sicker than a 96-year old?
It would be reassuring to see her at some time this summer.
However, when I googled just now, this is the first search result that came up. 'Reports from earlier this year indicated that Kate would not return to work until at least the fall, or potentially next year. Last month, The Daily Beast reported that Kate's diary for the year is empty, with no public appearances planned for the remainder of 2024.'
Catherine will need to wait until she's given the all clear by doctors but from what I've read, I'm not sure she'll be able to return to her usual royal duties as before. The chemo must be taking its toll and she needs to get her strength back. A very brief appearance and a wave on the balcony of BP would be reassuring but there is the drive to central London and back and it might be too much as this stage, even when chauffeur driven.

The dress is ok, at least it's a proper wedding dress and not an off the shoulder number but personally, I don't like the opening at the back. The bride is pretty but next to her 33 year old husband, she looks older (she's 31). Admittedly, he looks very boyish. At least, she's got poise and class. My remarks are superficial, he apparently lives a normal life and is a philanthropist, which is the main thing.

I hope she appears on the balcony with the family for the fly over. I also wish The Family would bit the bullet and say what is wrong with her. The platform they have is world wide - IF this finding saved her life because it was caught early, then a PSA is a gift to those whose lives could be shortened due to ignorance. Being proactive these days with some of the deadly diseases out there is a game changer.
The wedding - Yes, the dress immediately brought to mind a certain dress from years back. This time, the designer and Bride nailed it - I love it. The lace on the veil matched the gown - the neckline, cuffs. It was not too much - just enough (I loathe lace personally, but I would wear that gown in a heart beat). I felt sorry for her mum - bless her heart! She had to wrangle that veil and accessory train in that wind by herself. It was a two person job! Where was the designer? Beautiful day, beautiful couple. I wish them all the best!

Wedding of the year: Her hairstyle is too severe and I think it is this that makes her look older. From the little we have seen of her, she seems to have a bubbly, happy, optimistic personality that very much reminds me of Catherine, and that hairstyle is so severe that it hides her personality. She is skinny with excellent posture, like Catherine, and that dress and veil swamp her. More lace might have lightened the look. But overall, my impression of her is that she is not that interested in fashion or couture, so her wedding look both reveals and obscures her personality. They both look very happy and genuinely so.

I am recovering from a short but debilitating illness that caused me to lose 10 lbs. in 2 days (dehydration, NOT fat, sadly). I can only shudder at how debilitating her illness is because she has ZERO fat stores, no reserves to tide her over even a short illness. Her body will have to steal sustenance from her muscles (and bones).
The increasingly frail QEII started out with quite a bit of weight as she was (apparently) a stout, strong lady. She became frail to the eye as the weight dropped off and she had no reserves left.
I did love Olivia's veil, and I wish them both happy. They both seem marvelously down to earth and unpretentious. I am a huge fan of his entire family. His mother's family history is awesome.
I cling to hope that Catherine is adding some mental health time to her recovery, and that's why it's taking so long. I cannot see how cancer caught so early that she herself referenced "preventative chemotherapy" could be knocking an otherwise healthy woman out for a full year, and maybe never allowing her to return to full time duties. I suppose it could be her hair; if I look hard enough at the video, I coukd make it seem as though she's wearing a wig, and it would be hard to keep that a secret as much as she's out and about...but do we think she's really so vain that she would let that stop her from doing her duty?
I feel as though she either needs more time off because this has shaken her more than we realize ( and no shame in that) or else they found more cancer in the meantime, and she chose not to share that. I think they would surely have done a full body CT or PET scan after the initial cancer was found, and perhaps saw more.
I have to remind myself that she's very thin, and chemo may take a harder toll, though.
It's just extremely hard for me personally to reconcile the late Queen well into her 90s, near death and in tremendous pain, and the current King undergoing cancer treatment himself and nearly twice Catherine's age, both doing balcony appearances, and Catherine being unable to. It terrifies me.

What's happened to English English? What used to be called a `Fly Past' is now a `flyover'; which was always an elevated urban road of some length which passes over other roads, houses and anything else in its way, The Chiswick one (from the M3) was the earliest in London (IIRC) and, again IIRC, was originally seemed to have been made of wood. I respectfully disagree with almost everything you said about the wedding dress.
I thought it was beautiful and very tastefully done.
1. He looks very boyish for 33. He could very easily pass for an Oxbridge undergrad in a Merchant Ivory film. It was quite a collection of toffs, this cream of British society. He looks very down to earth for being the richest man in England under 40.
2. His delicate bride is lovely, and the couple almost look like siblings, don’t they? I think the dress swamped her a bit. The heavy taffeta and glaring white is reminiscent of That Other Dress, This one is better made but I think that material is very unforgiving and too heavy to fit well. The scalloped neckline was too shallow to really show it to best effect, and I think she should have worn a necklace for more visual interest. The keyhole opening in the back is discordantly modern with the almost Edwardian feel of the front, with the scalloping, lace cuffs and built in sash. That waistline is actually my favorite part of the dress.
3. Making the shoes her “something blue” was an unconventional choice, but dark shoes with a white gown is a No. They were probably very nice shoes but they distract from her dress. The hem also seemed like it wasn’t laying properly which just brought attention to them more.
4. Formal bridal updos are often times not very flattering and I don’t think this one probably shows her to advantage. It looks plastered to her skull. I like the idea of a floral headpiece… There is a royal fleur-de-lys tiara that I really like… But this bride has a small head and with the severely scraped back hair, this particular tiara looks too big and heavy for her.
5. A tasteful manicure. I think her neutral lip color deadened her a bit. To me she looks like a Spring in her color palette; a more rosy color would have brightened her up.
6. The bouquet was lovely, And the groom had a pink tie to match. Olivia’s lipstick color should have been drawn from her bouquet.
The older I get, the fewer bridal gowns I actually like. I think this fit is boring and I don’t care for the clashing elements… It almost seems like it was cobbled together out of features from two or three different dresses. It doesn’t wow me but I hope the young couple will be blissfully happy.
Eugenie is looking good for a mother of two. I’m not a fan of accordion pleats but that shade of green looked nice on her. A York princess in a non-distracting outfit is a novelty.
@Wild Boar Battle-maid, it is surely the hillbilly in me, but I wouldn't give the sworn enemy the satisfaction of knowing she'd got under my skin. I don't mean that Catherine should do anything at all until she is well, but I hope she isn't so thin skinned that she would allow Nutmeg to hold that much power over her. I’m a Winter so black and white should be in my palette but both wash me out near my face. If I wear either, it has to be as an under layer with a brighter color over top.
I guess we have Victoria to thank for wedding white. Until then brides just wore their Sunday best in any color of their choosing. I think blue was popular. When QV chose white for her wedding, suddenly everything bride had to have a white dress made especially. White being a very impractical color, a lot of women wouldn’t wear it top to toe. I think we might also derive the “diamonds are forever” engagement ring tradition from Victoria, too. I think this is especially prevalent in the United States because here are you very rarely see another type of gemstone used for an engagement ring, but brides in other countries often choose their birthstone or another color they like.

If we go back in time, they wanted a half in-half out option. It seems that this meant that they lived in California, had full security paid for by British taxpayers, had all their styles and titles, did appearances in the UK when they wanted to, did whatever tours or appearances they wanted to anywhere in the world as official royals, and kept Frogmore Cottage. Interesting. Basically, it is a fight to remain relevant.
As the second born, he was destined to be pushed down the line of succession. The royal family would have always tried to help him live a useful and relevant life, inside the fold. However, his marriage sabotaged any chance of that for him. Marriage was a smash and grab for her so there was no way he could find relevance and usefulness within the royal fold once he committed himself to her. But she is also a toxic narc so he is fighting for relevance in his marriage and all he really has is the royal connection.
The way I have framed it ends up with him being a loser. Either he achieves huge success as an independent, cutting all ties with royalty, or he goes back to the royal fold and plays by the rules. Neither is possible while married to her. Trying to take over the monarchy and get the governmeny to bend to her will is not possible unless he kills off his father, brother and all his brother's children before they reproduce.
He cannot give up this fight. If he accepts being irrelevant, and lives modestly in obscurity, he loses everything he has left with her. Ironically, if he loses everything, he has a real chance of regaining the love and protection of his birth family and his country, but it would be on their terms, forever.

If hapless did some planning, he could see his friends when he is in the UK, as he sometimes does. So, he seems to want Frogmore Cottage and full-time security back so that his friends can visit him, because they won't visit him in California because they do not like his wife. Well, that is what Quinn claims.
Quinn, nothing you say makes sense. Hapless never stays long when he is in the UK and he never seems to plan ahead enough to make plans to see his friends or alert RAVEC to assess his security needs, when he could.
I was going to say the same, i.e. the Duke of Westminster. I think the fact he is the richest man in Britain and richer than the Queen was must have been immensely appealing. I don't know how/when she would have met him but he is a friend of both William and Harry. Obviously, he wasn't interested. She hugely overestimates her charm and attraction, plus she would have been with H already, either as a girlfriend, fiancée or wife and the Duke had the sense not to go there. She is not as irresistible as she thinks.

Where it gets sticky is how the British royal family defines IPP. It is generally understood that the BRF has three classes of IPP:
The sovereign, their consort, their heir, and the heir's immediate family = permanent IPP status, full-time security, full-time diplomatic status (visa and immunity)
Working members of the royal family = occasional IPP status only when carrying out official duties representing the soveriegn and monarchy; security and diplomatic status only when working on behalf of the sovereign/monarchy.
Family members of the sovereign (aka everyone else) = no IPP, no security, no diplomatic status.
Which is where RAVEC comes in. Harry's lawsuit(s) revealed that RAVEC is the decisional body advising which royals get state-funded security and when. Which Harry, and the general public, has largely interpreted to mean that if RAVEC is advising on security, then RAVEC is deciding who gets IPP.

The root of Harry's lawsuit is that he believes he's a Category 1 IPP but he isn't. He hasn't been since 2013 when George was born, and there's a few indicators that this was understood behind the royal scenes, with the most obvious one being the 2012 LP that afforded titles and privileges to the heirs of the heir of the heir to the sovereign (e.g., William's kids only, excluding Harry's kids).
So in 2013, Harry was downgraded behind the scenes to a Category 2 IPP. Then he met Meghan and she thought he was a Category 1 IPP - her infamous "linked not ranked" statement and all the PR naming them as "my father's son, my children's grandfather, my grandfather's children, my grandmother's favorite, my grandmother" makes it clear she saw them through family only - so Harry also thought he was Category 1.
So when they megxit'd, they thought they'd stay Category 1 royals with permanent IPP because they see themselves as "immediate family of the heir" -- but they were Category 2 royals/part-time IPP and qhen they megxit'd, they quit working, which dropped them down to Category 3 royals/no IPP.
The rumour of them buying property in the UK and splitting their time between the UK and the USA keeps coming up. It semms to have been started and is being spread by self-proclaimed royal experts.

I think by 'not out of the woods yet', Catherine means there's still a long road to recovery. She talks about good days and bad days and she still has a few months of treatment ahead, so it's not over. Anyway, it takes 5 years to be in complete remission. I also thought the King looked good for a few more years yet, thank heaven.

I think this gossip is someone trying to get attention but not having the position they claim to have nor the information they claim to have.
However, it is supposedly 14 months since it was revealed she signed with WME and ... not one deal. Yes, they got her d5ome appearances, but none of those came with a contract that earned any money for nutjob or WME. So, it makes sense that the contract has quietly come to an end, and that she included some kind of non-disclosure clause in the contract she signed with them.
WME are professionals. The launching of a non-existent brand without even securing a trademark, the Nigerian circus, the filming of a pilot cooking show, not a signed deal series, the projects announced but not delivered, and now trying to steal attention from TTC and Catherine with a jar of raspberry jam and another of dog treats ... this is not how WME operates.
Loved Trooping of the Colour. The RF got out its super stars and showed its class, even as its numbers are depleted by illness and other factors. Catherine looked gorgeous, as did the rest of her family. The King & Queen showed their mettle and dedication by being out in the drizzle for several hours. The A-team of the Windsors were out doing what they're supposed to do, represent the country and boost morale.
As to the 'others' in SoCal, they're not even bench warmers. They wouldn't be welcome on anyone's team, for reasons we've all discussed here since their ill-advised marriage. The statement that 'of course, I'm happy, we're really happy' - why 'of course'? - made me think that all wasn't well in paradise or else why state that you're really happy, so there might be some truth in the info about a separation.
I didn't realise H was in London, he must have flown under the radar if so. It's all very intriguing.
I agree that she will never take action to divorce him, nor will she be a part of divorce by mutual agreement.
Were H to start proceedings against her is a different matter - she wouldn't have any say in it. It depends on whether H finally realises he doesn't want to be shackled to her any longer, regardless of her view on the matter. We may even notice an improvement in H's demeanour which suggests he's made up his mind to leave her and take action.
Whether H can afford the costs is something else - he'll want a subsidy from Pa, while she might turn to those shady characters whom we suspect of backing her.
On the bright side, I'm sure a Court Order could be issued to have the `children' DNA tested to see if H is really their father, assuming they exist, of course.

My mistake has always to think rationally about a divorce. She would love the attention of a public legal battle like Johhny and Amber, but being papped with the children like Angelina (and turning up for Hollywood events with them) would also suit her. How much power would the royal family have in sabotaging that for her and how would they do that? Purely speculation: how do you think divorce and custody would go down, and what would happen to her afterwards? She has to know that; therefore, I believe that she would attempt to file first. Whether she could afford the legal fees, well, that's another problem. I expect their financial assets are largely gone. Buying all those awards in order to look important isn't exactly inexpensive. The upkeep on that dreadful house in California is way above their pay.
Harry would probably do better on a very short leash with no money of his own to spend on drugs/alcohol. He could be put to work, as many have said, for room and board, with little to no financial remuneration. Mucking out stalls, cleaning out kennels, mowing grass, simple, repetitive work that even he couldn't screw up (but I may be overestimating what he is capable of).
Many a dad here has been financially tasked with upkeep of an ex and children such that they cannot afford to live. Some turn to criminal enterprises. Some of them give up entirely, unable to afford even minimal housing, and join the homeless and/or work in the underground economy.

Indeed but it's still remarkable that she knew so little of how things run in the UK.
Even Brits make silly assumptions about the law and so come a cropper - and even if one is correct about a law, it's only up to a point because there are so many other subclauses, provisions and exceptions lurking below the surface, waiting to scupper you.
For instance, you can be awarded costs - and then find that you only claim the money by applying to court (more expenditure) and you can spend more than you're claiming and it's best to drop the matter That's my experience.
I agree absolutely that the welfare of the children is paramount—which is why the best possible outcome in my view is, and always has been that the children are figments of the Harkles’ rancid imaginations. Neither of them are remotely fit to be parents and it could be argued that over these last 5 years, neither had given a convincing performance of being a parent, notwithstanding that they seem to have begged or bribed various contacts and doll catalogs to provide them with facsimiles of “their children” for photo purposes. If the Harkles do have two children in their custody, the life and future of those misfortunates will be an unimaginable hell. At midlife I am coming to grips with being raised by a narcissistic mother and I wouldn’t wish it on a dog. Not forgetting that some innocent dogs are also embroiled in this narc shit show.
I was wondering, having never been through this process myself, what manner of proofs and documentation a parent seeking custody/child support is required to provide to the court. Does the judge need to see such things as birth documents, medical records, reports from social workers/hospital/CFS in the event of allegations of abuse or neglect? With the judge need to have the children presented to him/her in the flesh to see that they are thriving and well cared for?
It doesn’t seem likely to me that a judge would award sole custody of two unseen children plus potentially millions of dollars a year in child support without ascertaining that legitimate parenthood exists. And as far as the royal family is concerned in terms of supporting or funding Harry’s bid to become custodial parent… I think they would need to be satisfied as well that there are actually two living minor children in need, and perhaps the vigor of their support would be contingent on whether these children can be proven to have been fathered by hairy or at the very least legally and properly adopted by the couple. I want what’s best for any real children of course, but to my view that would be being given new parents altogether.
Neither of them should be around impressionable children, and to my mind there is ample evidence that neither is able to produce children the normal way. Hence all the subterfuge. IMO, both of these “kids” have been a giant grift from the get-go. TOW isn’t going to let go of this con if she can bilk cash out of the RF for the next 20-odd years (The bairns will need expensive private schooling as they get older, you know…and holidays, uniforms, braces probably…TOW could ride this gravy train for years to come, laughing all the while at the gullibility of the world.

IMO, he is enjoying living in America. He can do whatever he wants, make up his own rules, and does not have to think about stuff like duty, service, tradition, good manners, responsibility. He can smoke grass all day, play with his dogs and kids, and feel important. All he has to do is let his wife control and dominate him, and agree with everything she says and wants. Despite his body language sometimes showing annoyance with her, he fully supports her. I have changed my mind about divorce initiated by him.

Not because it is the right thing to do, but because it would be good PR. It does depend on which AI system is being used as some are programmed to have bias. It also depends on how you frame a question/request.
Despite all the controversy about the X platform, the community notes are a good idea, and seem to me to be the best way to counter false narratives without being blocked or attacked. If someone posts a falsehood, you can correct the person through community notes. It is like a real time fact checking system. Even Elon Musk has been called out on a post using this system!

Have a look at the photos. I thought their 'office' was at Mudslide Manor, and during lockdowns they were definitely filming from there. But if you look at all the photos above, the first few look as if it could be Mudslide Manor but the last shows clearly it is not. They have offices elsewhere? For what?
This PR stunt seems to be some volunteers packing donated toiletries into large donated bags, which will then be donated to some refugee organization. Maybe the duo will turn up fir the handover to get photos and good PR in the media. Or maybe they will remain in hiding! I suppose it keeps James Holt busy and makes him feel useful (and copies what actual royals do in the UK, at the actual refugee organization and not on a verandah facing the street in an unknown location).
Everything they do always comes across to me as a publicity stunt for their image, and practically to get donations so that they can pay for staff and all the costs of publicity stunts ... to get donations and good press (and pay for whatever they have to for the latter).

Because they are not working royals or officially the monarchy as a part of government, the duo can be a lot more direct. Get attention by turning up to volunteer, look straight into the camera and speak directly without any word salad and minimal referencing of self: "You can help make your community a better place by clicking the link, signing up for volunteer work, and/or making a donation. Community by community, we can make life better for all so don't hesitate: click, volunteer, donate. I did ... and I am going to keep doing this, week after week, visiting different charities, asking you to volunteer/donate ..."
No, because the donations go straight to the charity if they do the above, so how do they cover their personal expenses if they can't 'wash' donations through their foundation? Sorry to be so negative and judgmental, but they have been doing this for years now and my opinion is that they do charity work to attract donations to pay for staff, overheads and other expenses, to get good publicity, and to grab a platform to make a speech and be photographed. Ego and greed!

The above is why I think the post from Nachos was an angry reaction to being ignored by the royals. It was poorly executed and did nothing but hurt her non-existent brand (except in her imagination). She lashed out because she is being ignored.

Am I correct that birthdays of the duo and their children are not acknowledged by KP or BP ... because they are not working royals?
So she was not saying that he was unsuitable, or even that he could not do the job, but that, basically, he would not like being king because the role would be too restrictive for him.
Someone unsuitable for a role/job because of character can still take on the job/role and do very well, by putting duty above all else, but they personally would probably end up feeling unfulfilled.
That interview was a long time ago and what was too restrictive for a young Charles is not so for a man in his 70s. If Diana was alive today, she may well say something very different. But she was also unwise to say many things she did in that interview. She was going through a bitter separation and, like her younger son, was not wise in what she said. Don't wash your dirty laundry in public. It entertains the masses but serves no positive purpose unless you are trying to destroy someone and succeed in doing so. Neither Diana nor her younger son have succeeded in destroying or hurting or bringing down in any way those they are at odds with in the family.

I don't believe a word of what she says. * is incapable of empathy. “They have had enough information to know that people are excited about the idea of a comeback for Kate and they’re both relieved and happy to hear that she’s on the mend and may soon be well enough to return to her duties" - 'people might be excited about the idea of a comeback for Kate', that doesn't mean that H&* are, particularly *. This offer of an olive branch is just for optics.
Of course, we don't know the size of each jar (1lb or 12 ozs?) but to make 50jars in one go would need strawberries and sugar with a combined weight of about 35lbs, assuming she went for 1lb containers. That's 2 and a half stone, which needs a very big preserving pan and a powerful heat source to boil it up in a reasonable time.
If she if made 5 batches, each of 10lbs (unlikely, given her apparent aversion to real work), she has no idea what `limited edition' means.
We, on the other hand, have a strong suspicion that she was buying it in and repackaging it, presumably trusting the sacred touch of her holy hands to give it added value, its unique selling point.
This little thought experiment gives, IMO, weight to the theory that the jam was made by someone else, in an industrial kitchen.
I had the same thought ... for the raspberry jam and dog biscuits. She bought the jam and dog biscuits, hastily repackaged them and sent them off to Nachos!
The strawberry jam? I think 15 people posted about the jam (or am I exaggerating?). She did not have 50 jars of jam, and, yes, I think she hired people to make the jam, do the packaging, and organize a courier, and her kitchen and home was not used for any of the work.

I know celebrity wines are a big thing in Hollywood, but I live in one of the major wine regions of the world and celebrity wines are just not a 'thing'. Even the packaging and marketing does not determine success for a vineyard and winery. It's all about the actual wine, and the price point. Vineyards that make a range of good wines do well and have a good brand reputation, without celebrities. So, she is going to get a vineyard in France to make bottles of wine for her and slap her label on the bottles. If it is a good wine, then she can take no credit for that at all.
It's totally believable that * bought jam made commercially and repackaged it. When has she ever been known to tell the truth? Remember the banana bread she baked in Sydney after a full day of appearances and in spite of jet lag. Isn't she wonderful? (It was made by the staff at Australia House). Jam she may conceivably have made (doubtful) but dog biscuits? Who has ever heard of anyone making dog biscuits? And where did she get the biscuit moulds? I call BS.

I am a fairly recent convert to the tribe of whiskey drinkers… I’m dictating this message and just now on my American iPhone added to it… I like Jamesons, especially on St.Paddy’s Day, but my preferred brand is Crown Royal-very smooth. That’s quite a treat since a bottle of good stuff is so dear. Crown is gratefully accepted for Christmas and birthdays.

It is the USA spelling. Odd, because there were large numbers of both Scots and Irish immigrants, but apparently the large influx of Irish immigrants (hello, potato famine!) was the reason for the the 'e' turning whisky to whiskey.
Time for HISTORY! Family members have traditionally been engaged in producing alcohol for home consumption (and sale) in an adversarial relationship with the Yankee government. It was particularly active during prohibition and the Great Depression during my grandparents' time. (Running moonshine was the origination of NASCAR, too.) We rarely have any alcoholic product on hand that has been purchased and still know local moonshiners. Our family members (mostly) engage in hobby level beer and winemaking (legal). The exception to no purchased/taxed alcohol comes from a local craft brewery making a nice pineapple rum and spicy vodka.

I am not convinced. The schools she attended emphasized 'being good'. Any volunteering she did was organized through the schools she attended, so she learnt from an early age that 'doing charity work' got you gold stars. This probably coincided with a time when Hollywood stars were creating a 'humanitarian' image for themselves, the most notable probably being Angelina Jolie, and of course there was Diana. She liked the idea of getting that kind of attention, so she weaseled her way into the UN.
She did not take acting classes nor do theatre work or get small parts in movies that would expose her to the craft of acting and film making, so her interest in acting was always about being famous and getting attention, and fantasizing about winning awards.
Everything she has done has been to get attention and to feed the grandiose view of herself, borrowing from whoever is in her orbit or whoever she saw featured in the tabloids, followed by paps and getting attention and having a fabulous home, holidays, friends .. She has never done or said anything original.
Her problem though was that she never earned enough money from her attention-seeking, no matter how much she hustled ... until she realized that there was a prince in the UK who had inherited a fortune from his mother and was very famous. He could not only make her very rich but also get her attention and open all doors for her.
The story they tell about how they met, in all its changing versions, probably has some truth to it. They might have crossed paths in Florida or Istanbul, as some have speculated, but she did not make an impression on him. She was not his type. So she did her research and adopted a persona that would be more attractive to him, cultivated connections in the UK, and finally found someone to arrange a blind date. Remember that after that first date, he went to visit a friend and smoke dope (they claim she kept the date short, but the truth could be the opposite), and she messaged him to seal the deal for the second date immediately.
She borrows from other people to create a persona, and her inspiration is what she reads in tabloids and other media. The prince was not her goal all along, but when their paths crossed, she became aware of him, did her research, and realized how much he could do for her, so she pursued him.

When you see the tapping on the back, again and again, the hand holding, the two-hand clasp, the glares, the pushing ahead ... all in a fast-moving compilation, her true character is revealed.

First off, I was born and raised in Toronto. I knew of Meghan Markle's existence at least a couple years before she met Harry. My sister's friend, a freelance writer in the city, heard about an event that MM was either organizing or hosting (can't remember) in Toronto. Consensus about her behaviour toward staff was - and I quote - "she was a scathing b****". Now keep in mind, this likely would have been 2014/2015... she was an absolute nobody and there would have been no need to spread mistruths about someone so barely relevant. For me at the time, it was just an interesting tidbit of information about Rachel from Suits. My brother also met her once at a party. Nothing too interesting to report from his account lol, just that she was "super skinny" and "looked bored of everyone" and "didn't say hi despite being introduced". ...
Now onto Cory Vitiello. Meghan loves to correct articles that list dates that overlap the two relationships. I can tell you that the relationships ABSOLUTELY overlapped and she 100% did CHEAT on Cory with Harry. Everyone in Toronto within those circles knew that to be fact and Cory didn't hide the fact that she blindsided him. She moved out of his home only after her relationship with Harry became public. Now why was she even with Cory? Well, she's always been a social climber, we know this. And at the time (after being married to a producer only gave her a few non speaking roles in movies) she was using Cory to elevate herself... via the cooking world. ...

I think this is spot on - and her shallowness occasionally trips her up. Most recently it was after her Women in Leadership event in Nigeria when there were comments that she didn't have any real understanding of women's issues in the country. Earlier it appeared in her podcast episode about "bimbos" where she bemoaned that she wasn't appreciated for anything other than her looks on Deal Or No Deal. She referred to her internship with the US Embassy in Argentina:
"I had also studied international relations in college, and there were times I was on set at Deal or No Deal and thinking back to my time working as an intern at the U.S. Embassy in Argentina in Buenos Aires and being in the motorcade with the security of treasury at the time and being valued specifically for my brain. Here, I was being valued for something quite the opposite."
She talks about being valued for her brain, but doesn't (can't) even obliquely mention anything she was working on, some issues she was asked to research etc. No, what is important to her was riding in the motorcade because, you know, * has to be SEEN.
It's always the same - pull apart any of her word salad ramblings and you will find nothing substantial. If she had stayed in the RF, with the help of aides she could possibly have maintained a facade of being interested and engaged in something (they did a good job of making H at least appear socially acceptable) but she is so thirsty for attention it was never going to be enough. I think more and more people are seeing her for the vacuum that she is.
You're quite right in your assessment of *. She is very superficial, scratch the surface and there's notice. She just makes statements that are just empty words but are designed to sound intelligent. She never has any evidence to back up her claims. She pretends to be interested in a cause, like the 40x40 charity work initiative. That was a flash in the pan which was only to mark her 40th birthday. Everything has to be about her. At the Women in Leadership event in Nigeria, she arrived lated, didn't apologise but mentioned that she she'd been told to wear more colour. And of course, she told the audience she was part Nigerian. No style, no substance.

There weree big fights between them over that book but Meghan told everyone who would listen, and seemed to truly believe herself, that what was in the book was going to change public perception and that people were going to read about Harry's lifetime of abuse (in the form of fewer sausages and a less picturesque view from his room) and be absolutely outraged and turn on the RF and file in line behind Harry and Meghan. She really believed wholeheartedly and told everyone that would listen A) how AWFUL Harry was treated as a child and B) how badly they were treated. She REALLy believes they were treated wrongly. The level to which she has been spoiled coupled with her narcissism has deluded her into truly believing they were mistreated.
She was SHOCKED when the book had the opposite effect. She stayed cloistered away in the Beverly Hills hotel the whole time watching the fall out, ignoring Harry as he sought advice and feedback during his book tour interviews, and screaming and crying at him for embarrassing her and humiliating her with this book. He started out arguing, "But I didn't want the book! You wanted the book! You read it before it was published and were excited about it! This was your idea!" And she denied all of that and gaslit him, saying she never wanted this, how could he do this to her, he's ruined them both... blah blah." Until he finally is in tears himself apologizing profusely, asking if she was going to leave him/begging her not to leave. She would never say one way or the other and he was desperate with fear and devastated that this book, which he didn't want to do in the first place, was going to end in her leaving him. He's almost certainly a borderline personality while she is a narcissistic sociopath.

I don't think this fits him. I know someone with BPD and the meltdowns are so severe that they are scary. It is not the person's fault, which is why it is so tragic. They cannot maintain romantic relationships or keep a job. (The person I know has been stable for quite a while, after trying Ayahuasca therapy.) Neither Diana nor hapless have displayed a BPD meltdown. It is a disorder and is only classified as such when it interferes with normal functioning completely. Displaying some of the traits of BPD does not mean you have BPD.
Was it a Beyonce concert they were at? This is another video of them dancing, together at the concert. What struck me: she holds into his hand even when he goes to have a sip of beer. He gets distracted easily.
