A poll: Options for the Nutty Blog going forward

It's no secret to regular readers of the blog that we're dealing with some regular posters who are very unpleasant. In particular, they target popular commenters with the goal of making them miserable and driving them away.

My suspicion is that these posters are paid, and that their real goal is to get rid of me and the blog itself.

Social media nitwits have long been part of Meg's PR budget; who can forget her clueless supporters on the DM comment boards? And Meg and her sugars have "outed" or gone after other bloggers who displeased her.

Alternately, we could be talking about a single troubled person who gets their jollies out of creating multiple personalities and arguing with themselves. Whatever it is, it's unwelcome and annoying, and we need to take action.

Anyway, I've identified a few possible approaches, with upsides and downsides.

Here they are:

Move to a Wordpress Blog

The positives: We can have several moderators, which is not possible for a Google Blogger Account. This would allow someone to moderate during the hours when I am asleep, roughly 10pm-6am Estonian time, which is when the mischief seems to happen.

The negatives: Everyone would have to take a few moments to create a Wordpress profile if they don't already have one. Also, Wordpress shows me your IP which can indicate your general location - unless you use a VPN - plus whatever email address you have set up to comment.

I personally don't care about your email or your location, but if big corporate websites can get hacked, I suppose a small Wordpress site could as well.

Also, this solution would have to wait until I have time to fully implement it.

Add Disqus to this Blog

Enty has recently switched to Disqus commenting system on his Google Blog, which allows him to ban users and IPs.

The positives: Can be implemented today. Allows for nested comments, which is something many Nutties have wanted for a long time, plus GIFS - not sure if that is a positive or a negative!

The negatives: Again, you will have to create an account, and Disqus exposes your email and IP address to me unless you use a VPN. (I suppose our troublesome poster could use a VPN and come up with a lot of nonsense postings from mulitple IPs, defeating the purpose)

I don't go to CDAN much any more - has Disqus worked well for Enty?

Continue without changes

Google Blogger allows for excellent privacy protection, and it is truly open to all. I see nothing but your screen name; I have no access to your email address or IP.

Personally, I rather like it that way - should someone get uncovered, I can say with full confidence that I had nothing to do with it!

Unfortunately, that wonderful openness has resulted in abuse. Some dullard seems to think it's fun to make me waste my time deleting multiple idiotic comments, multiple times per day.

What do you think the best way forward could be? I'll leave this poll open until late Monday to get everyone's input, and I'm also open to separate suggestions.

If your buttons don't work, here's a direct link to the poll.

I have no concerns regarding you knowing my IP/email address.
But I am concerned re hacking?
Nutty Flavor said…
Wordpress has pretty good anti-hacking capabilities; I've run other Wordpress sites for more than a decade and have never been hacked.

That said, anything can happen, so I just wanted to put that possibility out there.

Your IP doesn't reveal your identity, just your location. For example, on the IP I'm working on right now, there are more than 10,000 users. They're all in Estonia, however, so anyone who found the IP address would know that's where I lived.

I have both a Disqus and WordPress account so moving to either platform is do-able, but have chosen the option to stay as is. Yes, it is annoying to have to scroll past dozens of comments but it is easily done for me. If it is really making accessing the blog and comments difficult for those using a phone, it is no hassle for me to switch to another platform.

The things is with these insulting comments is that there is no build up. I used to go through all the comments carefully to see how the fight started but, nope, it has nothing to do with what anyone said at all. It really does feel like people trying to derail the thread (or otherwise people spewing when they really should switch off the computer and take a break).
I voted for keeping things as they are, but if things need to change I'll roll with it. I'm good with the whole ignore/scroll approach (have still had to sit on my hands occasionally) but I do appreciate it can get annoying and upsetting for individuals if it's aimed at them personally so I'm happy to go with the majority decision.

GIFs etc: I do find it quite refreshing that this format doesn't allow embedded images, it makes it so simple to scroll through reading and I can choose whether to follow any links to images. If I want to share an image it only takes a few moments to locate the URL and post it so I haven't personally missed the function.

I'm not worried about admins seeing my email or IP.

Not sure how I’ll navigate using my phone?
I chose to stay, but will be happy with the chosen choice.
I might learn a knew skill 😉

I don't mind staying on here or moving on to another platform but Disqus can be a bit glitchy.I haven't used my account in a couple of years so things may have changed. Also, some posters go overboard with gifs but there is a possibility of hiding them if I recall.
At present I scroll through the OT threads here and don't respond - just move on so no worries.

Honestly, I don't mind whatever causes less aggro for you Nutty. It is very kind of you to think of solutions and thank you for providing this great place. I'll follow wherever/whichever path you choose.

I haven’t commented on CDAN since he went to Disqis. There is something about it I don’t like.

I’d be fine with a moderator and Wordpress or keeping things as they are, but I’m not the one being targeted. I’m sure that is very unpleasant for them. They’ve driven off Elle and who knows who else.

You’re so wise to the ways of the Internet world, Nutty! I never would have thought of someone being paid to be so unpleasant. If they aren’t paid, then we do have a disturbed soul here.

I enjoy this blog and the articulate and thoughtful posters on it. Good luck with resolving this!

if disqus is the only platform that allows you to ban IPs then I think I am going to vote for that. just deleting the comments doesn't seem to be enough as then there are several comments "you deleted this, kept that"

I think biggest issue with entys site (disqus) is the ads and the inability to swiftly hit ▶️to move onto next post. your site is one post with string of comments so should fair well

I do like WordPress but seems like alot of work for you

thanks Nutty for allowing us to have a voice
Weekittylass said…
I really have no problem scrolling past but if changing the format will bring back posters who have left over the idiots, by all means do what you need to do. Disqus does allow you to personally block posters that you don’t want to read, so there is that. Do what you feel works best for you Nutty.

I voted to stay as is. I rarely comment and scroll by stuff I see as unnecessary to me. I love this blog, I love the intelligent conversations and I’m sure there are many people who don’t feel the need, like me, to comment themselves. I think we mostly are on the same page, wavelength, whatever.

I do however feel for you when you have to spend time deleting stuff. That said, if most of us can scroll by and ignore irrelevant stuff and you have time and are happy (or rather resigned) to zip through and delete where necessary that’s fine by me. You do a fantastic job.

I haven't voted and leave the decision to Nutty and more seasoned bloggers. It was very kind of her to ask us, but ultimately it is her time wasted on moderation.

My only concern is possible hacking by crazy Markle followers or her paid PR men.

Out of all Markle discussion blogs this one is the most informative with great comments from around the world. I would love to see it continue in whatever form

I voted to keep things as they are. I would miss the familiar format of this blog, because I like the look of it as it is. If Nutty has reached the point where she would like to make a change, I will support whatever she decides. I don’t feel that everything needs to be revamped on account of a few agitators. These dust ups appear cyclical and flare up and recede. I took a break from this board, but that was due to a lack of tech at home during corona lockdown, not because of anything posted. We can all choose to engage with those comments we would like to respond to, and ignore the rest. I don’t think it should be Nutty’s burden to play clean-up cop all the time. Not fun for her at all.
I don't know what to opt for.

I'm not particularly techno-savvy, despite having worked with the things since the 1980s. We have to pay for all computer help - I needed assistance to set up my gmail account for example.

On account of my age, the lock-down rules haven't changed and I'm not sure if I can call in assistance anyway, especially if 1-to-1 guidance is involved.

I also find change irritating - life's too short, especially now, for having to relearn what I can do already.

On the other hand, husband is anxious about something going wrong as a result of me contributing to this blog. The computer is our lifeline, for email and online ordering, contacting our GP and so on.

When the desktop (ads or IP)`informs' me of my location it is accurate only to the region in which I live. Even so, despite keeping our online presence to a minimum, there's enough to allow someone to cause serious trouble for us.

Yet I feel strongly that I should continue to have my say.

What a situation. I'll have to give it careful thought - I'm very interested to see what other Nutties have to say.

Perhaps I'll have to comment in the DM instead!

I visit and comment on several WordPress sites and as a commenter I like the system. One can respond directly to another poster with their comment appearing underneath, so it helps the conversations flow.

However, as the blog administrator you may find it somewhat difficult to get going. I know of one blogger who is currently trying to set up a new WordPress site and pulling her hair out in frustration. She calls it WordUnimpress.

Posters initially need to be approved in order to post. Those who act out can be banned, so multiple moderators to watch the site aren't needed. Access can be given if you'd like others to be allowed to post stories. One negative for posters is that once you submit your comment, there is no option to delete and repost.

I scroll through the crazy posts here and don't engage, but I find it disturbing that good posters are driven away. If these posters are in fact paid with this goal in mind, then unfortunately it's working. The other explanation that certain posters are this mentally unbalanced is quite disturbing to me.

Nutty, you've created an excellent site and it and your posters should be protected. I'm in the US and have learned a lot about UK history and the BRF here. I hope you are able to keep things going and appreciate the site very much.

Thank you so much for the blog @Nutty. May you and your loved ones always have good health and happiness.

what many of you are failing to realize is the disruptor not only posts under various "unknowns" but uses actual names with developed persona . so in one sweep you are calling out the disruptor and in next "breath" engaging in pleasantries with exact same person

when you realize exactly which characters are complete fallacy, makes for a hard read as everything shared is complete lie

Disqus looks like a mess, to the point that I don't even bother commenting on sites that use it. It looks awful on CDAN. Having nested comments is nice, though. Wordpress, I don't mind if you do or if you don't.

I actually like CDaN more now, since I can block individual commenters. Just yesterday or the day before, I blocked Tricia because I got tired of wading through all the feud posts between her and Derek. And since I never know Derek's user name from day to day, I blocked Tricia.

As far as VPNs go, the Opera browser has one built in to the browser, itself. No need to add an additional VPN if you use Opera. It also has a decent adblocker, as well.

Really difficult to decide but one issue predominates for me as a regular contributor and that is the suddenness with which these episodes occur. They really can come out of the blue and when it happens while you are actively exchanging thoughts with other Nutties, it's harder to quickly scroll by and gloss over, as you were in the middle of a 'conversation'. It has almost a physical impact, like being suddenly haranged in the street when all you were doing was going out to post a letter.

Sometimes, as in the last week or so, the abruptness and hostility of the language used actually makes me feel sick and very unsettled. Especially when I'm in the middle of a crisis selling my house. I could stop coming here for a while, but why should I? Many Nutties feel like friends. We all need to feel connected after this long period of isolation and stress.

It's also very hard to stand by while fellow long-term contributors are being attacked. Yes I know we should just ignore it and I usually do, but couldn't earlier this week as I was so aware of the effect on the fellow Nutty being targeted. Especially as, even if they are apparently no longer here, they may still be reading. Basically, I need to say 'this is not okay'. Just as I have done on several occasions to protect people being bullied on public transport.

So for me, the need to be able to ban people is vitally important. If I need to potentially compromise my total anonymity, I am getting to the point where this is a price worth paying. Either that or or I will leave the blog entirely rather than just tell the offender(s) I have stopped dealing with THEM.

I'm going to read up on the various options and will then vote.

Many thanks Nutty for looking into this so quickly and for all you do to keep this blog going.
Maneki Neko said…
My two cents: all three options have pros & cons and if we don't mind which, in a way it doesn't help Nutty. Having said that, perhaps staying as we are might be best, at least for now? If anyone is attacked by another poster, then it's best not rise to the bait and attack back, and please, no insults.

My only worry with WordPress and Disqus is the possibility of being 'doxxed'.

Please not to mention VPNs again. The Bravo browser also has very good built in ad blocker. DM is difficult to load without ad blocker on a computer. This must be 10x worse on a Phone. I see some complaints from Apple-Safari users. Why on God's green earth are you so committed to Safari? Try some other browsers. In order of usefulness I would install to try out --
Bravo
Chrome
Opera
Firefox

I’ve never been able to comment via Disqus, no idea why. :o( I also don’t relish possible hacking either.

If I’m interested in a post, I comment then I select email follow-up comments and all subsequent comments are sent to me via email. It means I can skim through and/or delete comments.

Even a lurker can do it. No need to have a name, be Unknown etc., just type Hello etc., and select email follow-up comments. ;o)

By my count we have Cats who I dislike for driving away Elle and 2 malicious unknowns. We have 2-3 good unknowns.

I think this can be done with Blogger if Nutty prefers this format>>>>
Establish a new GMail account that you don't mind someone else using. Shift ownership of this blog to this new GMail account. Give someone in the US access to this GMail account. Then this someone will be able to co-administer this blog and delete Cats who is 95% of the disruptions. She also poses as an Unknown, though not that often.

I notice the wily Cats posting then quickly self-deleting which is really nuts and a waste of time. This is done for one reason.

I voted for Wordpress, but my secret wish is that we could stay the same, get our old posters back, and the problem posters would just go the hel l away. It's ridiculous that we should all (esp Nutty) be held to the ravings of a clearly deranged, threatening poster. I've tried ignoring, but it's clearly Not Working.

Not crazy about the idea of gifs, they seem very hard to resist, and I hate wading through all that on other sites. I would be happy to have a moderator if it saves Nutty time and trouble. I don't mind a moderator seeing my IP address, although I have VPN protection on my devices.

I hate it when moderation is on. It kind of kills the thread and the world is without my brilliant commentary 😀

But do what works for you Nutty. Wither thou goest, and all that.

I voted to stay but whatever Nutty wants to do is ok with me.

The in-fighting IS distracting and I do hate that some interesting posters have left. My vote to stay doesn't mean I don't care about the lost and attacked posters because I do.

When seeing diatribes in the morning I used to waste time trying to figure out what the flashpoint had been the night before. But now I realize there is usually no there, there.

But IF the disruption is coming from a paid campaign of destruction rather than an unbalanced person or persons acting out (have no firm opinion about that myself) I'm not sure Disqus (which I generally don't like) would solve anything because of ways to use VPN. I don't know if WordPress solves the issue entirely either.

I'm not very tech savvy. But I assume paid disruptors might be. And if fighting here provides psychic energy to a few mentally unbalanced individuals, it's possible no stone will be left unturned in a quest to be able to continue those battles.

In either case, the non-disruptors among us may also be benefiting from the relative anonymity the current set-up provides. Not that I would care about Nutty having more info about me but since there are either evil OR unbalanced forces about...We've seen doxxing carried out by MM defenders on other sites and we've seen attempts to take fights from here to other blogs....

WordPress - I'm good with, staying as is I'm good with (2nd choice but still really fine with).

Just don't like Discus for some reason though. Just don't like the new format for CDAN. Not reading it as much or maybe I am getting bored with it and the new format is helping drive the discontent.

I have suspected people posting to agitate things up here at times. I actually knew someone who had done that on a site (over 20 years ago) where they posted as both sides of a rather tin hat alien abduction kind of site. They were only discovered when the FBI got involved for some different legal reason.

I suppose I could create another email which could be a dead end to make things harder if you were hacked. That's not an issue as long as it's not this week end. Then I'm good.

I would be happy to pay a smallish amount every month for a higher level of moderation. The cat fights between posters are immature and endless exhausting for me. Those posters need to be be moderAted or banned. I deeply miss the deeply insightful for posters who have left. But I do understand their reasoning.
The recent post about clothing inappropriateness has been discussed endlessly before, but the merching topic was a good one as posters bring their expertise to the topic. For example, I did not know that someone with expertise can find out what is selling on Meghan Mirrors site. I know that Nutty is doing this without compensation. I am grateful for her work. As an American, I have learned so much.
My only thought is to change the topics more frequently, e.g. every2-3 days. That might reduce the juvenile posters. Is there any way to send a list of possible topics to Nutty without posting. For example, I believe that The Queen deserves enormous respect and admiration. But does respect put a cloak over the investigation of m&h in much greater. Or is the British press so hampered by tradition that British taxpayers are prevented from learning about the deeper details of the dreadful duo? For example, the recent discussion about drug use was derailed by posters suggesting that observation by posters is insufficient evidence to allege drug use. No one has commented how thin JH has become. While stress could be the cause, diet related drugs are easy to obtain in the US. I would be hard to convince that he is “just on a diet.” I used to work for the US Pharmacopoeia and learned even more about off-label use of
many drugs. Thanks for letting me comment. Best to all.

Hi, Nutties

I am so sorry matters have come to a head like this but I feel we may have the answer in our own hands.

I haven't posted for a while because, like others, I became fed up with all the rows and insults flying around. However, if we cut off their supply of oxygen, they won't achieve anything.

Mind you, this would have to be a concerted effort between all of us - no-one to rise to the bait, no answering back, not even any acknowledgement that they even exist.

Yes, it will be hard but that, I think, will be the only way to make them ease up or stop.

It may make things a bit easier if we all have to have an avatar - no avatar, no posting. This would mean that every poster would have to learn how to get an avatar but I think it would be beneficial in the long run. At least, we would immediately know which posts to boycott.

One poster was very snarky with me one time and, since then, I have not bothered to read, or respond to, a single one of their posts, no matter whether they are giving information or asking a question - drastic, but it works for me.

For the record, I voted to stay as we are.

I sincerely hope that things get much easier for you, Nutty.

May be this is not relevant to current discussion but I would like to say this. Some people commenting here may be lonely, vulnerable, perhaps even unstable. They have difficulty ignoring what they perceived as attack on them. I can only see two ways of dealing with it. Either we ignore their emotional outbursts and respond to comments on the subject of the blog or Nutty limits access to the blog.

So far there is always somebody responding to emotional posts, and not always in a nice way. This only stirs things up further. I guess this leaves access moderation.

I am not criticising anybody, just saying what I saw. If the blog stays here there will be fighting episodes again.

Can we be wise enough to ignore troublesome posts? Perhaps if we all agree to ignore them and only respond to meaningful messages it could work.

Sorry don't mean lecturing or offending anybody.
I'll do my best to cope with whatever changes are made.

If these disruptive posts are the result of dirty dealing by You-Know-Who, it's all the more important for us to exercise our right of free speech under the law, being careful to state when statements are allegations/speculations/opinions.

If the disruption continues, it will be confirmation that we are on the right track in our search for the truth.

God Save the Queen!

@Prettypaws & Fairy Crocodile,

I agree - ignore and don't feed the trolls. It is always a few that ruin things for the majority. Sad but true.

I also think some people might have left the blog, or at least stop posting, for personal reasons. Emerald palace (name?) had interesting info but left a while back and nothing to do with the current sutuation. People come and go and I think that is what it is.

I don't post much as there are so many that convey what I'm thinking so much better than I. I also have an old wonky tablet that has a temperamental keyboard. I refuse to use IPhones any longer much to the chagrin of many of my family&friends.

I do look forward to upcoming posts as things are getting very interesting. Nutty has provided an oasis for us here so lets keep calm and carry on

I haven’t been here nearly as much as I used to, but I have no intention of leaving.

My suspicion is that for every unknown you ban, 5 more will pop up. I don’t necessarily think they are paid (though it is certainly possible). I think they are obsessive types who will just register more times under more names.

So it will turn into “unknown whack a mole”

But in the end, I vote for whatever makes it easier for you.

My vote was for disqus or any other platform or method that will moderate the people who have no other agenda other than to disrupt your blog and bully those that don't fall in line with their agenda. Respectfully to those who have posted just to scroll on by, that has not worked and it is clearly not working now. Well, in essence it has worked for the trolls to see their agenda fulfilled by driving off those that they don't like, leaving the remainers to pine for the missing. My very humble opinion is if we do miss those who had insightful things to say then we actually stand up and create an environment with protections that afford a safe haven to post your opinion. I CRINGE when I read the things the troll has said and continues to say, every so often throwing in what sounds like a sane post just to stay relevant. Her drive-by posts are the worst and more often than none I've logged off the blog to find something else to do rather than catching even a word or phrase of her vitriol. My 2 cents.

So odd for tatty to give an opinion when it was her that started the trouble in the first place.

I voted to leave it as it is, because it seems to me that if someone is determined enough to cause trouble, she will find a way to get around the barriers that the other platforms allow you to put up. But my preference is for whatever makes it easier for Nutty.
Since she asked for opinions of the change at CDAN, I will say that I've found the comments take a loooong time to load on my Kindle Fire, making it rather frustrating going from one post to another. Once they are loaded, however, I find no difficulty in using the Disqus platform.
Jules Bergman said…
I appreciate having the option to vote on this decision. That's very generous of you, Nutty. Especially as you're the one handling all the 'clean-up' chores. I will think about it and then vote.

I do not like the CDAN site after the move but for me, it's because of the dozens of ads on each refresh of a page and again when you go to read the comments. The ads slow everything down and are far more distracting than a couple of unbalanced or emotionally stunted posters. It is nice that you can follow the 'conversation' though.

What worries me far more is the idea of this blog/you/us being targeted. I've not commented often but faithfully read and have learned so much from so many lovely people here!

Ultimately, you do what is best for you. We will adjust.
I voted for Disqus but I rarely comment and certainly not from my phone. In retrospect, I say leave it as it is (please). I hate most gifs, and just look at the fights as a mildly irritating form of entertainment (except for the Gollum thing, which was a huge irritation). I miss Elle very much and find some another commenter here disruptive and annoying, but overlook her as well. In every community, in person or online, there are antagonists and the best way to deal with them is to ignore them.

Hello Nutty & Lovely Posters! I've read this blog for a year, but like AnnieC, this is my first time posting. I also, am not sure if I will show up as an unknown. I'm very electronically challenged, & the only time I've posted on a blog is one I created for a high school Lit class I was teaching. I feel I'm not qualified to suggest a platform but only am posting because I want to follow this blog if it moves. It's been funny, informative, insightful, & a pleasure to check in every day, thanks to Nutty & the blogging family here. My wish is that this blog remains a functional blogging family, for Nutty's sake especially. On a personal note @Nutty - Over the past 16 years, we've hosted countless Estonian university students who come to the States to sell educational books. We've visited Estonia in 2009 & again last summer to visit our many Estonian "children" & for the superb Song & Dance Festival. How thankful I am it was last summer & not this summer. So I imagine you there & wish you well during this time.

I've been reading this blog since inception and posted several times though less frequently now. This blog is to discuss MM with a clear bias that is not favorable disposed to her just as Celebitchery and Lainey are worshipful of MM. If someone adores MM, it's best to avoid this blog, no one is forcing anyone to read or post. Since I am not a fan of MM, I read and post here.

It's been my observation that certain bloggers get into spats with others, sometimes they leave when they don't get their needs met e.g. having heir political views validated or need for attention and validation satisfied. Sometimes they continue, it's best not to engage them IMO.

If I recall Elle just started new job and her attention may be elsewhere. Bloggers come and go.

I recognize that posters are more than entitled to post. Nonetheless, how difficult would it be to have an index or tags? The sloppy clothing examples, in all its aspects, has driven me mad. It is an old topic. But we have little insight into what drove the drastic downhill change. What it solely defiance or she did not like the appropriate BFR dressing constraints? Did she not realize the dregree she would be
Judged on her appearance? What role if any did JH have in this
progression? I still think Charles garden party exit was a turning point for her. But I would appreciate other posters insights.
I know that clothing serves many functions but not sure how to analyze mm’s dubious approach?

As an aside, I enjoy tattie and Nelo as they provide information and try to stick to facts. Other bloggers have provided stories from Airmail, The Daily Beast, and The Telegraph , all behind a paywall.

The exchange between Hikari and tattie was an example of how mature people handle disagreements. There are other bloggers here too numerous to mention who show respect for others despite their different opinions on the degree of MM's deceptions.

I voted to stay - I've never heard of WordPress and honestly don't want to set up another account anywhere. I don't like disqus and i don't want gifs. I'm content with just scrolling through.

I don't think the trouble maker is paid. I think they are just a bored crazy who likes attention.
Magatha Mistie said, I only comment via my phone.

Yes I know and so do I, tis why I said Disqus didn’t work for me. I set-up two accounts and I couldn’t get my comments to show on either. Unsure if it’s a phone thing or not.
One of the run-ins I had with my most recent narc blew up from my asking her to pass me a knife so I could pop into the dishwasher (I was in a hurry to get on)

She refused absolutely, `I am going to wash it up!', she announced grandly.

She did so and also took everything on the worktop that could be washed up and started on the lot, as slowly as possible, despite my frustration and protestations, and wasting her time and mine. No observer would have realised we were in my kitchen!

It made me think of Obstructive Disobedience Disorder, as found in children (`tell 'em not to do something so they go ahead and do it').

I took it to be a manifestation of `Nobody Tells Me What To Do', a narcissists' First Article of Belief. Not for nothing is the disorder's acronym ODD.

Is this the root of MM's refusal to take advice?

I'm a newbie and I'm also computer illiterate . I vote for things staying this way but perhaps those who have been here awhile should have more weight in the discussion. All I would ask is if you're changing to WordPress or Disqus(ehatever those are lol)that someone here would be so kind as to give some instructions. I dont have a computer. My husband has a laptop he rarely uses and my kids have me a laptop for Christmas and it's still in the box. I'm not even sure what "nested comments" are. 499LAKE,I hear you about people thinking you are accusing when you're just speculating. Saying I see signs of drug use in Harry doesn't mean I'm saying it's a fact. TAMHSN, I loved the "get tickled " by the crazies comment. Funny but true. It sounds from the people commenting that the majority vote is to stay the same . I hope Nutty can keep her sanity having to read and delete a bunch of crap. Especially fisrt thing when she gets up in the am. So whatever is best for her is good for us.

I agree, sometimes people want a break, they suffer from Sussex fatigue, so many reasons. I was a reader and a lurker for some months before I commented, even now I don’t comment on every post. Nothing wrong with taking a break or leaving, we shouldn’t assume Bloggers have been chased off. IMHO. ;o)

I like Disqus but I am perfectly ok with staying - or moving to wordpress. For me, disqus is good because you can click to the disqus site and see the other comments posters have made on other disqus platforms.

E.g. If you were to click to my disqus account...you would also be able to see every comment I had made on CDAN. I actually use another disqus account for comments on political platforms so...
plus - I do like being able to upvote and downvote - as it lets other users know how everyone feels about the comment.
That said...whatever nutty feels is right for her...it's her blog, I just visit.

You are right, and I apologize. A person may be lonely or have other issues. I lost my temper this morning and vented. I don't do that often.

Not feedings the trolls is the way to go. If we set up other accounts, either the trolls will amuse themselves by infiltrating with new IDs. If we go private, we won't have new posters and that would be a shame.

We can't let them chase is away. If Nutty doesn't mind the cleanup, no interaction will eventually get boring for the trolls.

You make a valid point re new people not knowing. Perhaps Nutty could put something like the rules for posters? No personal attacks, no swearing at people, no politics etc? As a permanent heading for the blog? It may help in case of escalation.

But I suppose to enforce something like this Nutty would need a tool of restricting access for "repeat offenders".

Without restriction the blog will continue relying on her moderation and the goodwill of the posters.

"Nested comments" allow responses to a post to appear directly under that post. On the present blog, all the comments are listed in chronological order, but on Disqus, for example, a comment and all its replies will be grouped together, no matter when they are posted.

Ther is already the rules in place (Google's Terms of Service that prohibits such things as cyberbullying, hate speech, violent threats etc...) and Nutty could have her added rules like posters have asked in the past.

But Nutty immediately deleted the ToS when I posted them and she deletes every mention of them them.

It is far less time consuming to use the current platform and enforce the ToS as Google demands by their agreement; but that doesn't happen here.

But I say Nutties, go ahead and vote to let 'xxxx' and 'Unknown' control the narrative because the prevailing opinion is you like their style, words and actions, so vote to endorse them. Enjoy how they treat people, because after me it will be someone else.

Give Google's Terms of Service a big FU since you want 'xxxx' (the avowed Elle protégé) to rule the day. Forget freedom of speech, you only have to keep 'xxxx' happy because Nutty can't even control 'xxxx'.

I'd say do whatever suits you, Nutty. It's your blog to run as you see fit. I don't see why anyone thinks they're entitled to post whatever they want, against your wishes. You're very kind to give us this opportunity to discuss the mm debacle.

You're gracious to take a poll. Not something you would have had to do.

So many posts are so very interesting. I love seeing what other people speculate is going on compared to what happens later, or comes out later as the truth. I enjoy trying to understand the psychology behind it all. Posters here have brought up ideas I wouldn't have thought of on my own.

I'm fairly new so don't know the whole history of this blog. At first I thought person was just weird and best to ignore. But now that I see others deliberately provoking (and getting a great reaction) I gotta wonder if you're correct that it's paid havoc. All staged, much like mm.

This format is nice, easy to read and follow. But if you prefer another format that's perfectly fine, too. Thanks for offering us this blog!

CDAN has probably picked the worst/ugliest Disqus option and against that black UFO-Area51 background Enty favors. This is not how Disqus has to be (look like) because I have seen it in many elsewheres/on a white background/ and looking better/ very presentable and user friendly for all lovely Nutties.
Lurking said…
I think the problem on CDAN has been losing old comments, not Discus itself. I like the nested comments. It makes it so much easier to reply to comments and have an actual discussion.

As for the trouble makers... I don't think the 2 I'm thinking of are paid. They are just miserable individuals. When one came after me I just rolled my eyes and put them on mental ignore, scroll, scroll, scroll... even when they later tried to engage with me.

I moderate a live chat. If nutties are anything like my chatters, they will police themselves with little actual moderation needed.

I don't usually check in before moderation is done, so granted I miss a lot of what is going on.

Judging by the recent exchanges we have had a lot of nasty comments deleted. Sad that people waste energy on negative emotions. There is no benefit to anybody in them.

That is why I think some sort of common rule we all sign up to is necessary. Perhaps I am too optimistic but as Lurking says our little community can self-moderate.

Yes, wonderful idea, people can email Elle through Nutty because not long ago (maybe a couple of months) Nutty gave out her email online to Elle and I saw it (but didn't need it or dare email Nutty). But posters here could email Nutty and Elle can get in contact with who she wants.

One of the reasons I don't like nested comments is you have to basically start at the beginning every time you come on to read new comments. I prefer noting what time i left the board and returning to that time and reading forward.

If everyone would just flat ignore posts or posters they don't care for, that would solve the issue.

Remember that some of these multiple posters arguing are one poster with multiple pages open on their browser, going back and forth, arguing with themselves, to appear as multiple posters just to stir things up.

Marie said…
I still read the blog, but don't think it's necessary for me to comment anymore as my comments seemed to be personally upsetting to other posters. I did not want to upset others, but I also didn't enjoy the extremely dogged demands to identify my job title, place of work, training/residencies, educational status, universities attended, and so forth in order to state my opinion. Doxxing is very real, and the ethics committee for my field of work would probably find my participation questionable. So I would prefer not to have email or IP address visible on future blogs (unless one can simply read without having an account, then that's fine).

Jdubya said…
I don't really know about WordPress, what their forum looks like. I don't like Disqus for a lot of reasons including the gifs. Are the ads a part of disqus or are they a part of cdan?

i belong to another forum and at the bottom it says it is createaforum.com I believe the moderator can ban users if they get out of line. You can also create different categories and it tells you which categories have new posts. the problem is gifs and if Nutty could create a category where gifs are NOT allowed, only comments that would be good.

I guess i don't mind "signing up & logging in with a passowrd" but i do not want to download an app.

Well, I think the self-moderation just went to hell. The irony of infighting while discussing how to stop the infighting is fairly obvious.

If anyone is unhappy here, they should find another blog where they will be happy. I don't understand what hanging around where you are unhappy gains anyone.

Non-engagement is going to have to be adhered to by everyone. We have to agree to no feeding the trolls and no tweaking the trolls. Otherwise everyone else is held hostage while a few posters hijack the thread.

Here is a very interesting site that posters might want to look at because it goes back over a decade and it contains a lot of info on the BRF and even some on other royal houses. If you get past the clunky 1st page index it becomes easier to navigate.

royalgossip.forumprofi.de

It is a membership site but anyone can view the posts. The moderator is very, very strict (kudos to her) and does not allow the smallest amount of snark among members. Although it might seem like a lot of time for the moderator it isn't really because she can severely limit members (and has done so) and posters automatically don't act out because they don't want to be kicked off, they value the site so much, and they respect each other despite people's 180 degree opposite opinions.

Mybdon isca federal agent very high up in an alphabet agency I can't even tell you which one ( I will tell you it's not FBI TG). The feline one seems perfectly capable of becoming incandescent without much provocation unless I'm missing something, though I am often on here late at night UK time before poor Nutty gets her broom out again in the morning. It's so disproportionate. Like a school playground. "Miss! She's picking on me!". I left all that behind when I was 16, with huge relief. The rest of us just want some relaxed time catching up with fellow Nutties.

However I would like to see an end to using 'Unknown' or 'xxxx' as names as it's confusing when there's several around. It would be great if people could choose different names and go with that. I don't see how that compromises anonymity in the setup we have at the moment, but am happy to stand corrected if necessary. I'm not particularly IT-minded.

@AliceFrance - thank you so much for your kind words. I put a lot of thought into this blog, as many Nutties do, and have really enjoyed recent discussions about the wider royal family. I think we have scope to do that while H&M are just treading water and we're waiting for Lady C's book to come out. Then we'll all have SO MUCH to discuss. Can't wait.

If it stays ugly on here for the moment, I'll take a break and come back for the book. I've already said I won't respond to the feline one directly any more.

Good afternoon, y'all! I am not a high-tech redneck myself, but I do have a Wordpress blog on hiatus because I didn't have the time. Now I'm going to have to make a Facebook account (shudder) for business reasons. I do think that Wordpress is quite easy to use, easier than Blogger (I think I still have a blog there as well).

As for Disqus, I find it to be quite slow loading and frustrating at times but that may be because I use it to comment on the mega blogs. I *really* like the ability to block trolls on Disqus so that I don't have to waste time scrolling.

When I actively managed blogs, I creatively "edited" the comments of the disruptively rude because it amused me. I do not think that Nutty has the same sense of humor as I do, so she probably wouldn't stoop to do that. (Nutty's note to self: Do NOT use SwampWoman as a moderator.)

I didn't vote. I can use Disqus, Wordpress, or ignore. I think Nutty should use whatever means that she desires in order to maintain her desired amount of decorum and to make it easy for herself. I do think that the intent is to disrupt Nutty's blog for whatever reason.

I'm not intimidated by crazy, y'all. I'm dang sure not intimidated by somebody like my late neighbor that would be out in the yard with her watering hose watering her flowers in her underpants (and nothing else) in the early morning when the school bus came by, bless her heart, and those poor traumatized school children. The family finally had to place her in an Alzheimer unit because her poor husband, older than she, could not keep up with her escapes as she would sneak out when he went to sleep in exhaustion and walk the neighborhood au naturel looking for flowers to water. (We kept the gate locked.)

If people want to keep the comments as is, I may occasionally respond to crazy ranting comments with "Bless your heart. Don't you have some flowers to water?" (J/K. I won't have time to be all ugly or the time to waste until after hurricane season. Probably.)

And speaking of crazy, it is crazy busy at our place as we're getting ready for the hurricane season, remodeling the house, planting, harvesting, and getting back to business in the time of a pandemic. The supply chain is still screwed and getting parts for some projects, well, they seem to be made of unobtanium. I expect the rest of y'all are crazy busy as well.

I don't have a lot of time to worry about the escapades of a never-was actress that says she kicked being a royal to the curb (I suspect they were both invited to leave). I check in ever so often to see if anything has changed or if there's been any sign of intelligent life from Harry.

Fairy Crocodile said…
@CatEyes

Very often the most priceless information comes from - guess what - royal official sites. That is how we know that Harry is a special type of hypocrite, a rarely seen enormous and shameless one.

Why? Not only he never dropped his place in succession, because of his place in succession he remains one of the four Counsellors of State, two of which are to be appointed to perform Queen's duties in case of her illness.

Despite calling the Royal family and the whole nation toxic Harry is happy to be a part of both. He is leaving the royal fold with much pathos and simultaneously staying in it. A Schrodinger's Harry, quantum Harry.

We need this blog for the people to be able to openly say what they think of individuals like Harry.
I voted for Wordpress, but only because I hate that Nutty has to waste precious hours of her own life deleting all the disruptive comments. In my life I have had to deal with a couple of mentally unstable individuals, and it is exhausting and sometimes truly scary. Whether the disrupters on this blog are ill or simply evil, they clearly are not capable of feeling any shame or remorse for what they are putting this special online community through. How I wish we could learn their true identities and put an end to their harassment.

Nutty, I really think you should make the call. It is your blog and your life that is being most affected by this/these miscreants. Do what is in your best interests. And thank you for all the time and effort you expend to create this oasis of mostly good natured camaraderie. It has meant a great deal to me as I try and navigate this challenging and lonely time.

@Raspberry Ruffle
Many thanks for your advice about my technical issue. I’m still not sure why it rears its head occasionally but I suspect you are correct in thinking it is a glitch with IOS.

I did not initiate contact with them; they obviously are trying to foment hate against me and injure me as a disabled person (as I put them on notice). I am sitting here minding my own business and these two women just wantonly attack me.

Google you know by the posts I have asked these two in particular, to leave me alone and they won't. Wordpress has been very good for me to use as a diary, updating every day. Even today and yesterday. You opt for private and invisible to internet searches. Do this on a computer and not a dumb-ass Smart phone.
Wordpress blog can be 100% free but they make this more difficult to find each year. You must be persistent and scope the fine print to get *free* which was not the case 10 years ago. Free was lots easier back then.

Escapades indeed Swamp Woman. And in today's lower south Florida (where I live) strawberry report. There were ones from Florida and California both at $1.19. Can you believe transported 3000 miles and sell at the same price? Anyways I bought the California one and it weighed one pound 2 ounces.

Nutty,

Thank you sincerely for the blog, and your efforts.

The most powerful thing we can do is simply ignore disruptors, stop responding to them, talking about them and giving them attention.

They are unimportant.

>>>We need this blog for the people to be able to openly say what they think of individuals like Harry.<<<

Well I guess you and I are on the same page! It was 'xxxx' who is setting the stage for censorship using a site like WordPress, not me. If you somehow think I used the royalgossipforum site as an example to stifle comments on the HAMS that is certainly not the case. I complimented the royalgossipforum blog Moderator (her name is 'Yooper') because she definitely allows freedom of speech about the HAMS and other royals but does not allow posters to fling mud at one another as happens here.

Anyone who remembers my posts over the almost two years knows I have opinions quite in line with others regarding Meghan and Harry and the BRF in general. I just happen to voice my caution about stating "Harry is a known drug user" or "Archie has a full wet diaper" and thus is a victim of child abuse etc. because I don't like to see things like that which I might consider libel [a reputation is easy to destroy by reckless people online.]
I've lurked for over a year now and I enjoy the discussions so much. So, thank you, Nutty, for giving us this space.

That said, this blog has become unreadable due to the constant, nuclear-level meltdowns of one person and the intentional provocations by a few others.

I voted for WordPress. Blocking IPs is a fabulous tool and the only sure-fire way to permanently stop the drama. We have a right to free speech. Nutty is not obligated to provide the platform.
@SwampWoman

Thanks for the laugh!! Your story reminded me of when I was a kid in the 60s. The 14 year-old daughter of our neighbor’s was a budding flower child. One day she and her boyfriend were walking hand in hand and buck naked down the road (probably stoned), and when the milkman (we still had delivery back then)—a guy named Jerry with a buzz cut and a paunch—saw them he drove off the road and crashed into a tree. He was okay but his cargo of Golden Guernsey in glass bottles didn’t fare so well.

I used to moderate on a forum many years ago and one of the problems we had with disruptive posters was that blocking them didn't always solve the problem. They simply come back using a proxy.

As Nutty said:Your IP doesn't reveal your identity, just your location. For example, on the IP I'm working on right now, there are more than 10,000 users. They're all in Estonia, however, so anyone who found the IP address would know that's where I lived.

By blocking an IP address such as in the above scenario, you can end up blocking an innocent poster! (which happened a few times on our forum)

I’m for whatever is easiest on Nutty. I just won’t read anything posted by she who shall not be named, her credibility is shot. Scroll on. I miss Elle, Liver Bird, Emerald City, Swamp Woman and others I haven’t mentioned. The important thing about this blog is the intelligent, and for the most part, well thought out, balanced posts.

I don’t want to see this blog go private, I like that this is a place for newcomers to validate what they are feeling and thinking regarding the Farkles and I think it counters the crazy out there, and gives intelligent push back to the narrative the Farkles have tried to fabricate.

The tea that has been spilled here by insiders in the know wouldn’t have happened if this were a private group, but I don’t want to see anybody be doxxed or compromised if we move to a less private format - we need to protect our ability to continue speak out against the massive Sussex travesty.

I, like Elle, do believe MM, certain members of the press and probably other members of the RF read this blog, and I think protecting it’s administrator and contributors is paramount.

CeeMoore said…
Whatever is easiest for you, @Nutty. I am thankful for this blog and I wish everyone would remember we are guests here and act accordingly. The very behavior we loathe in MM seems to be repeated by the fighters ~ me me me me me! This is not the place to get personal attention, argue and bitch and moan.

To the few that do, here's an idea ~ do as much work as @Nutty has and start your OWN blog and set your own rules. You do not have the right to make your issues the issues of other people.
@Fairy Crocodile,

Good point about the succession and Counsellors of State positions. Many here called it - Harry wants all of the privileges and none of the hard work.

PR is an amazing thing.

MM & H also seem to want to compete against W&K with their own mental health initiatives. It won't end well for them. Oprah might support them for now but for how long? After his speech last year at Well Child's Ceremony - either laughing or crying , was when I first twigged to H's erratic behaviour.
Didn't he mention soon after that he had been in counselling for 10 years? I really hope for H that he considers other options and not listen to MM. I can only wish he can get better and get real help.

Long, long time lurker here. Thank you Nutty for creating this wonderful space. I've enjoyed the wit and the great insights and the wealth of historical information over the months. It's a pleasure to read so many well-written posts.
I vote for whatever makes Nutty's life easy. There are some or maybe just one nasty poster with multiple names, hellbent on sowing discord here. Paid bot or delusional indivdual, who knows? But like some others have suggested, we can ignore them. If A posts and B pipes up attacking A, ignore. If C chimes in supporting either, again ignore. It could be the same person using this ploy to lure others into the 'fight.' Personally, i just don't read any post from you all know who. And if a new poster's voice seems shrill and divisive, I move on. I only read posts from names that I know will comment sanely and funnily.

Anyway, whatever Nutty ultimately decides I will abide by that. Her blog, her rules.
YankeeDoodle said…
I like the current set-up. I ignore the petty commenters, and the silly fights. Very few people reply to me, anyway, so I guess my posts are boring! And then I am not on my iPad/computer every day. People should just ignore rudeness, and personal attacks. Eventually the “disrupters” will become frustrated, and either tone down or disappear. If I was British, however, I would be offended that paid crazies are using my tax money to attack me on an independent site. Or if Prince Charles is funding attacks on people, either on this site, or other sites and media. It is not “cricket.”

Hi Nutty and fellow readers.

This is my first comment and I’m really sad that it’s down to a few people that Nutty is having to consider changing platforms. I like Nutty’s blog because I find a lot of alternative blogs difficult to follow and the GIFs get pretty annoying.... but as I’m happy to support Nutty with whatever is decided - I shall be following regardless.

Nutty, I love the blog and (almost) everyone’s comments!

Too bad you didn't accurately report I said if these posters didn't "leave me alone" I was going to respond in kind to a point (my quote). Also omitted, I had previously offered an olive branch for these abusers to stop but they persisted to stalk and abuse me every day since. Yep, you are another one blaming the victim.

Guess you are the type that if someone verbally abuses you over and over you choose to crumple into a pile of watery sh*t and stay defeated. My war hero Father did not lay his life on the line for weaklings to tell me how to be a victim.

Oh and for those who praise Nutty for her fairness and kindness, late last night someone commended me for having a lot of veterans who fought in the various Wars/armed conflicts for freedom (and I only went back 4 generations) and Nutty within minutes deleted her comment and my Thanks for the Memorial day compliment to my family members!! Truth is stranger than fiction here.
Whatever makes Nutty's life easier and better. Life is too short to waste one's time doing that(screening comments). I tend to stay away because of a few people. It's like dropping turds in a punchbowl.

Just a quick question for Nutties. When it says "this comment has been deleted by author is that Nutty who cancelled or the person who wrote it? How do you tell if Nutty deleted someone's post?
Hikari said…
Nested comments are very hard to follow, as I think we determined before when this platform had them. It’s much easier just to indicate who you are speaking to and people just joining the discussion don’t miss out on cimments buried up the page. I prefer blogger to the other options. I’ve noticed that tempers flare and go off the reservation most often the longer a topic wears on, so maybe an easier solution is to refresh/reboot the topic after 400 comments max. That would be 2 ‘pages’. Even if it is just an open post topic. What is the least aggravation and work for Nutty should be paramount. She is our hostess, not our babysitter and she is not being paid to bat clean up. This supposed to be a bit of fun for all concerned. Not that it’s so much fun to watch Haz and Mess these days. If some visitors here insist on getting personal with other commentators I think they will find a way to do this regardless of measures put in place to discourage this. I had a stalker on the Amazon Discussion forums who was also harassing other members. After multiple posters complained about the harassment to the administrators with examples of the harassing posts, timestamped with names and dates, her account was eventually flagged and suspended. Within two or three weeks, she had figured out how to post from new accounts from Internet cafés. It was quite intrepid for a person who claimed to be unable to work or leave home due to mental stress and disability. If causing dissension through online portals gives them the fuel which they require, they will find a way around “banishments,’. Having their favorite websites completely redesigned with a view toward keeping them away would give them a particular thrill, and feeds directly into narratives of persecution complex which they might have going. I was amazed at how resourceful a self proclaimed fragile non-tech savvy Persecuted person turned out to be. Her victim persona was just that: a persona that turned out to be a hoax. Agitators who are not paid destabilizing agents often have a Joan of Arc complex that is as powerful as any financial incentive to keep themselves at the forefront of interpersonal drama and will go to great lengths to do it, Both camps Have a lot in common with Meghan that way, and they will find us no matter where we are. I vote for claiming our space here, and staying put.

In order of usefulness I would install to try out --
Bravo
Chrome
Opera
Firefox

@xxxxx

Please don't tell me what to do. The only reason I mentioned VPNs is because Nutty mentioned them herself when she was laying out all the options in the poll. I merely wanted to pass on the info that the Opera browser has a VPN and a good ad blocker included for free.

I generally have two browsers open on my computer. If I want to copy and paste a link I know won't open in the Opera browser because of the ad blocker, I open them in Chrome. Also, some US links won't open for me in Opera because they won't work in a European country. I live in South Dakota, but the VPN in the Opera browser shows my IP address as being in Sweden so I have to use Chrome to get into certain US sites.

I haven't been on CDAN in a long time, but it seems everyone is using it as the example of what Disqus is. It's not THE representative, but AN example. I don't host a site using it, but I do read blogs that use it, and am able to comment in peace. It just took a very simple, one-time sign-up. (As I recall, CDAN is pretty messy and frustrating; sounds like it's worse now.)

Wordpress, now, I DO know, and have built several blogs on it. It too is not a monolith and is highly customizable. Those of you who fear you will need instruction, or "have to join" -- no. You just register as a commenter, and get accepted. There is no learning curve. Moderation on it is easy to do (or to turn off)--although there the idea of volunteer mods might come in.

I voted for Wordpress based on this experience. But mainly I just want to assure those of you who proclaim yourself to be not technically savvy--no savvy is needed. If you've ever joined an email group or bought something online, you can do this!

And I'll add my name to those who are thanking Nutty and expressing regret that she has to be burdened with this worry and extra work.

Here is a site that discusses disruptive behaviour disorders in children, but I found it so apt! Check out these descriptions:

Children with oppositional defiant disorder often lose their temper. They are quick to argue with adults over rules or requests. They are likely to:

* Be uncooperative
* Argue, even about small and unimportant things
* Refuse to follow rules
* Deliberately annoy others, and become easily annoyed by other people
* Blame others for their mistakes or misbehaviour
* Behave in angry, resentful, spiteful, and vindictive ways

I didn't forget you from months ago. Too bad but I have a decent memory and besides like Hikari suggests, I do document things here

I see why you people are complaining about me because you are trying to scare me away because you are afraid of the legal consequences of your behavior. You have only yourself to blame for what you said and did to me.

Just like today, the ones that I have called out is because you initiated the contact with me or by criticizing me. All I wanted to do was vote but you people could not stop your bullying tendencies or unfair criticism (some of you spoke without knowing of the facts and said shit that wasn't true or was patently unfair).

If you have an opinion about me and voice it then I have the same constitutional right to express my opinion on you. When I was litigating one day in court, a Judge once said "the Train runs both ways on the track."

And definitely you might want to ponder the famous quote by Eleanor Roosevelt:
"Great minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events and small minds discuss people".

Is This the REAL THING THIS TIME? or is this just stringing people along?

Recently there was (yet another) post somewhere out in the world about how they will soon divorce.  And my first thought was: Haven't I heard this before?  which moved quickly to: how many times have I heard this (through the years)? There were a number of questions raised which ... I don't know.  I'm not a lawyer.  One of the points which has been raised is that KC would somehow be shelling out beaucoup money to get her to go "away".  That he has all this money stashed away and can pull it out at a moment's notice.  But does he? He inherited a lot of "stuff" from his mother but ... isn't it a lot of tangible stuff like properties? and with that staff to maintain it and insurance.  Inside said properties is art, antique furniture and other "old stuff" which may be valuable" but ... that kind of thing is subject to the whims and bank accounts of the rarified people who may be interested in it (which is not most of us in terms of bei

A Quiet Interlude

Not much appears to be going on. Living Legends came and went without fanfare ... what's the next event?   Super Bowl - Sunday February 11th?  Oscar's - March 10th?   In the mean time, some things are still rolling along in various starts and stops like Samantha's law suit. Interesting thought, isn't it? Would they show?  What would we see?  Would there now be photos from the rota?   We often hear of just some rando meeting of rando strangers.  It's odd, isn't it that random strangers just happen to recognize her/them and they have a whole conversation.  Most recently it was from some stranger who raved in some video (link not supplied in the article) that they met and talked and listened to HW talk about her daughter.  There was the requisite comment about HW of how she is/was so kind).  If people are kind, does the world need strangers to tell us (are we that kind of stupid?) or can we come to that conclusion by seeing their kindness in action?  Service. They seem to always be talking about their kids, parenthood and yet, they never seem to have the kids
