Until another topic is started, carry on.
Not much appears to be going on. Living Legends came and went without fanfare ... what's the next event? Super Bowl - Sunday February 11th? Oscar's - March 10th? In the mean time, some things are still rolling along in various starts and stops like Samantha's law suit. Or tax season is about to begin in the US. The IRS just never goes away. Nor do bills (utility, cable, mortgage, food, cars, security, landscape people, cleaning people, koi person and so on). There's always another one. Elsewhere others just continue to glide forward without a real hint of being disrupted by some news out of California. That would be the new King and Queen or the Prince/Princess of Wales. Yes there are health risks which seemed to come out of nowhere. But. The difference is that these people are calmly living their lives with minimal drama.

"During the sell-out Oprah interview, Meghan Markle was talking about her favourite subject – herself – when a cute little tweety boird landed on a branch next to the narcissist. The bird stayed there for a few seconds, then in an instant gently lifted its bottom and squirted a copious amount of bird shit onto Markle’s black couture dress.
They say getting shit on by a bird is good luck, and it seems Markle will need a lot of it in the future, seeing as her Netflix and Spotify deals are sinking faster than Harry’s ratings in the UK.
One of Oprah’s producers was professional about the bird shit incident.
“The dress looks okay with the bird shit on, in fact it looks like the kind of $4,000 dress some profligate virtue signalling parasitic narcissist would wear. Keep on filming, no need to stop!”
As for the heroic bird, it was later spotted eating from the couple’s garbage storage area, obviously stocking up its gut for some further butt explosions on some other deserving recipient."
* They would have dressed for the interview at the location, thus they are not wearing the interview clothes.
* Did Harry know from the start that Doria would become a fixture in their lives?
* If they did not tip off the paps, who did? Domestic staff at the location?
* Their look like of misery could be due to: they have just completed a whine-fest on the media and how the paps just won't leave them alone; they have just realized the optics of the timing of the documentary is really bad for them and were unsuccessful in doing anything about it; Oprah is highly annoyed because the interview of a lifetime is turning into a disaster; they have just had a huge fight; Spotify and Netflix have just called to remind them that the promised content is overdue ...
DM stated yesterday that those pap shots of them in the car were taken on on Sunday.
The Oprah interview took place days earlier.
Don't you think Megs face once again looks different?
I can't keep up with her ever changing looks in the space of a few days.
Did anyone see any bodyguards that they claimed they needed.
So, a photographer could have been waiting near their house, knowing that the photos would sell so it would be worth the wait?
Or did she arrange to call the photographer and then they put on a big act about being upset because they are besieged by photographers when they just want privacy?
https://closeronline.co.uk/celebrity/news/meghan-markle-sister-samantha-book-feud/?fbclid=IwAR2epDuCsIPMlFUN75OWleQ79Z3eZL6PidAoz-arwJcFTjC3roeIH9Gh8yw
Your guess is as good as mine. Lots of people suggesting that she called the paps!
Maybe that is why they look so miserable? Maybe the win that she boasted about while sitting in that chair with that strange expression fixed on her face is now in jeopardy?
The delay in publication is very suspicious. Before Nutties discussed the timeline of these pics, I thought the Sussexes called the paps to publish pics displaying them as sad and/or worried for Prince Philip.
It does look like they are trying to project a sombre image and one of them just wanting privacy and the paps won't leave them alone. They could have called the paps, through an intermediary, to manipulate their public image.
I think @Miggy is right and these pap shots were taken days after the interview.
Weren't the photographs taken in Santa Barbara? How did the photographer know they would be there, driving along that exact road, and be able to set up for the perfect shots?
DM stated that the pics were taken on Sunday afternoon. ( exclusive images obtained by DailyMail.com )
I've seen it mentioned by some that we should expect more pics of them in the run up to Oprah as they need the publicity. Whether true or not, I have no idea!
The timing of the interview is awful potentially catastrophic given the situation with Prince Philip. There is also too much vulgarity in them saying life with the BRF was unsurvivable when we have people literally dying and suffering long-term effects from Covid-19.
Yes, Santa Barbara.
From the DM...
The couple were seen looking very somber while driving around Santa Barbara with the Duchess' mother Doria on Sunday afternoon - hours before two teaser clips from their no-holds-barred primetime interview were shared.
Thanks @Sandie about the updates on the MOS case. I am glad they are going for an appeal. Further developments will be interesting. Yes, I agree with you, MOS wants to publish all the Sussex dirt they can.
Do you think it's a secret call for help? Or a subconscious message about something?
Speaking of Harry’s grey suit...
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-9313301/Prince-Harrys-favourite-outfit-Duke-rewears-grey-suit-brown-shoes-Oprah-Winfrey-interview.html
DM slipping some snark about The Duke’s favorite outfit/uniform.
This crumpled, worn to death number is off the rack from J. Crew for around 400 pounds. So it’s the kind of clothing that an ordinary white collar working bloke could get at the mall. I used to think That Harry opted to wear such simple clothing to be down to earth and show he didn’t care about vanity or expensive things...A real peoples Prince. Of course we now know that Harry is incredibly self-absorbed And thinks nothing of dropping hundreds of thousands of quid on private jets. This dependency on these garments is his version of a preschooler Garanimals ensemble—a Civvie version of his Army fatigues. He can throw it on sans ironing without dedicating any of his very limited brain power to deciding what he will wear. What might pass for a day in a not terribly formal office setting looks extra shabby when he’s sitting next to his wife and a couture outfit that cost 10 times what the suit was worth new—years ago, or in the environs of Windsor castle. This is Haz very visibly NGAF.
While Prince Philip Lies Dying in Hospital Harry Betrays Family on Celebrity Circuit
HOLLYWOOD - USA - Lights, Camera, Action! Harry and Meghan sell their vulgar brand once more as 99-year-old Prince Philip lies in a hospital bed dying.

Royal expert Charles Bartholomew reveals why Harry and Meghan are parasitical virtue signalling narcissists who only do things to benefit themselves. Prince Philip is currently in hospital at death’s door, but Harry and Meghan instead choose to go on celebutard chat shows.
“His grandfather is lying in a hospital fighting off an infection, and what does Harry and his parasite odalisque choose to do — talk on a vulgar banal celebrity chat show.
“If he’s not on the buses with a professional obsequious brown noser, Harry is stooping depths so low these days he might as well pick up a mop and start cleaning the diarrhoea littered floor. This disgusting betrayal of the royal family which gave him so much is a true sign that Harry’s character as a person is void of any form of decency, duty or honour.
“Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II gave the couple everything when they were in Britain. It was her generosity and kindness that was thrown back in her face in such an uncouth selfish manner by Harry and Meghan. By rejecting the goodness and generosity of the Queen of England, the couple ultimately rejected the British people as well who showed great love towards Harry and Meghan.
“Meghan Markle planned to leave the royal family before marrying Harry, as was clear in her calculating actions just after the marriage paid for by the British taxpayer was completed, and she birthed Harry’s child. Meghan not only used Harry to become a royal Duchess, but she played on the Queen’s goodwill to suddenly announce the couple were leaving for North America citing ‘press intrusion’ as a reason. Funnily enough, as soon as Harry and Meghan landed in North America, all they have been doing since is press related, courting chosen news outlets for their own selfish interests.
“There is nothing about Harry and Meghan that suggests ‘universal duty’, but only ‘selfish interest’ as they courted Netflix, and Spotify for multi-million dollar deals where they would only cheapen the monarchy to that of a celebrity freak show.
“As they fly around in gas guzzling jets all over the place, and ride in gas guzzling SUVs they choose to preach to the masses about ecological matters. Coming from a couple of freeloaders who live in a 16 bathroom McMansion in some grotesquely vulgar Hollywood neighbourhood, absolutely nothing good can be said for these virtue signalling self aggrandizing myopic narcissists.
“Former Prince Harry is a disgrace to the royal family, and has been indoctrinated by a calculating professional grifter who has allegedly birthed other children. Meghan’s lies have permanently damaged the royal family, seeing as she never had any intention of sticking around once she received her titles.
“To prevent further damage to Britain’s monarchy, it is imperative that the Sussex titles are rescinded and given to other royals who are more deserving. What about Sussex as a county? It is apparently served by a Duke and Duchess who live 5,000 miles away with no plans to return to Britain ever again. How can the people of Sussex allow this to happen, and how can the Monarchy allow this outrageous theft to continue?
“As the 99-year-old Duke of Edinburgh lies in his hospital bed, Harry and Meghan flaunt themselves on celebrity chat shows for their own benefit, not one thought is brought upon a senior royal who has dedicated his life to service and duty. Not one mention is made by these two vulgar fame-whores who were only in it for themselves, and everything else was a side show.”

Chris Ship revealed Meghan discussed her experience of being mixed race in the UK when she met with Oprah for their upcoming TV chat.
Of Meghan, ITV's Chris Ship told Good Morning Britain: “I know that she is going to mention things like mental health and the impact of being in the UK had on her mental health.
“I know that she’s going to mention about the press intrusion, but also she’s going to raise the issue of race in Britain."
Speaking alongside three other white guests on the show, Mr Ship told Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid: "I’m not sure this is the right panel to discuss that about how when you are either black or mixed heritage like Meghan how she felt in the UK.
“That issue, I think, is the one we are going to be talking about next week.”
What Meglomaniac is demanding from MOS.
£1M for that drivel?

I agree with the many comments I've been seeing, in that the 'wishy-washy' grey suit makes him fade into the background whist making "Her Markleness" and anything she wears stand out.
She probably encourages him to wear it.
I have seen this in politics ... a very unlikely alliance, which crumbles sooner rather than later, to oust a dominant party.
It would explain why they have to be at war with everyone, but I do not think they are conscious of this.
That's an astute observation. Some relationships, especially toxic ones, are sustained by raging jointly against a common enemy or the 'cruel world.' They feed each other's anger and resentment and have regular meltdowns of sputtering rage. It's a queasy alliance though and cannot continue fior very long. Exhaustion can set in and they can turn on each other.
Apparently, the 2021 Golden Globes ratings dropped 60% over last year, & the Super Bowl didn't top 100 million since forever. I think CBS is terrified this show will be a turkey, especially in view of Prince Philip's precarious health. It looks so inappropriate & disrespectful.

@AnT, The story of your grandmother is encouraging. She obviously had a tough constitution/spirit, & got excellent care. Fingers crossed for Prince Philip. (I really wish your Hot Rob rehabbing crazy Megs scenario would get made into a sitcom. Comedy is very hard, though, like making souffles.)
@Jocelyn'sBellinis, I'm glad your childhood gym experience didn't hold you back, & just became an amusing story!
Thanks for the Daily Squib article.
Scathing. The hounds have been released since her "winning" against the MoS. How many news sources can they attempt to sue? There's too many of them and they are coming at H$M with a vengeance.
No wonder they're fuming.

There is one upside to all this. Hopefully this makes Charles see the light as far as dealing with Haz/Megs. He mans up and stops coddling these saboteurs. At least here, Charles is seen as the weakest link in dealing properly with the Montecito Mudslingers.

My country is like the US ... appeal refused? Just go to another court and appeal again! Specially if it is a politician (like an ex-president) and the taxpayer is picking up the bill.
Her costs seem rather exorbitant, and the demand for profits and a huge payout for her are rather astonishing. If Warby gives her what she wants, he kills the media and lets the corrupt, narcissistic elite run riot, at the expense of everything. To me, it is that serious. Harry got smacked down when he demanded huge legal fees. Will Warby do the same? And the issue of copyright has not been decided so aren't her demands a bit premature?

* Today lawyers for the Mail On Sunday and MailOnline outlined ten separate points that the judge failed to take into account in his original ruling
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9316205/Meghan-Markle-face-cross-examination-privacy-claim-High-Court-appeal-hearing-told.html
* They argued that the judge failed to sufficiently take into account that the Duchess 'undermined or diminished' the weight of her own privacy by collaborating in publication of extracts of the letter
* The publisher's lawyers have also insisted that Meghan authorised five of her close friends to speak with People magazine
* They also insisted that a full trial should take place because further evidence would be made available by then

Fun fact: These are actually verses from the Voluspa Edda Poem about the myth of Ragnarok :D
skeggöld, skalmöld,

vindöld, vargöld,
áðr veröld steypisk;
mun engi maðr

wind-age, wolf-age,
here the world falls;
no men will

Quote from trybald
You might start with the Poetic Edda, which is the longest surviving piece of Old Norse poetry.
If you are looking for battle cries, then the only Norse battle cry I have heard of is Christian in its origin. It goes as following: Fram! Fram! Kristmenn, Krossmenn! (Forward! Forward! Men of Christ, Men of Cross!) and it's reportedly the battle cry of Saint Olaf. It's plausible to assume that pagan Vikings invoked their pagan deities (particularly Odin and Thor) in battle.
Others cried `Skal!'(should have an acute accent) - just the Icelandic of `Cheers!'- pronounced `Scowl'.
Oh my goodness - you have got to be kidding. i certainly hope the appeal is granted at some point

As for Mail Online, Meghan has asked that the notice that she has one her legal case be placed on the home page of the news website "for a period of not less than 6 months, together with a hyperlink to the Judgement".
Mail had wanted to pay only 75%

@Sandie, Sorry I didn't see your post a 1:21pm on the MOS appeal. I think it's huge news because apparently the UK judicial system is not as appeal happy as our American one is.
Only problem is that Megs/her lawyers want to be paid 750K Pounds now. Before the MOS appeal is granted or is not granted. Thankfully Judge Wobbly has moved up in the UK judicial hierarchy. Surely a less star struck judge will be assigned? Hopefully? One that the BRF has no sway over.
With Megsy demanding such high reimbursement for legal fees, fairness says the MOS should get its appeal. Time will tell. With Cov19, cases are tremendously backlogged in the US. (they are in my county) I must assume the same for the UK.
Oh my. Sounds like she wants others to destroy her evidence so it cannot be revisited at any point later in history.
And claims of more evidence? Did she ever hand over what she was supposed to? I was thinking it kept being pushed back and then there was the decision.
“Retired Deal or No Deal hostess who never stops selling her private life
uses a ranked title to “demand” that the UK’s free press publicises how
good she is at burning cash she didn’t earn on vanity litigation aimed at
humiliating her own father......Compassion in action, 👍🏽“
—-Tourre Bakahai on Twitter
It's the same judge. Warby!
America banned Dr Seuss books, and Megs demands Communist-style speech warnings be plastered on the front of the “free” press.
Maybe we can burn both books AND newspapers by Guy Fawkes Night?
“The discussion of costs is continuing. A sharp-tongued response from
Lord Justice Warby to Meghan’s lawyer over how long this is taking.”
My personal interpretation: a judge at ease doing the wrong thing in dark corners to climb or curry,
but made rankled and jumpy if the people he is abetting are so loud in their extra demands
others in the courtroom may notice that the judge is actually their fawning improper *itch?
Meghan is bitter because the Press and PR game has changed drastically since she started back in 2011. The old 90s curated persona now needs to be amplified with authentic work/claims. Wrong errors in judgement results in being Cancelled, which is what happened to Meghan. Instead of rolling with the new rules of redemption, she is digging her heals in the quicksand unaware of current 'Celebrity Marketing 101'.
Further to that point, today she had her lawyers revise their request of aggravated damages to nominal. Aggravated needs to show personal loss, whereas nominal is a token for legal validation. This is to prevent the news breaking that her 5 articles, in the prime of her coverage no less, weren't an extremely valuable commodity on their own for the papers (thus further diminishing the perception of her market worth).
No matter what she does she doesn't get how to play the game. We are past the age of 'attention-only' schemes making hard cash.
Warby has given her what she demanded for costs, even though her sole copyright ownership is in dispute. How weird is that? Is he going to bend over backwards to give her everything else she is demanding? Witness narcissism on steroids in the time of the virus!
She is vulnerable on the privacy win and thus is not seeking a big payout on that. There is so much dirt being covered up and it is too dangerous for her to get into a dispute about the privacy aspect.
What happened o the data protection aspect? Is she going to drop this? Has Warby forgotten about it?
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9316205/Meghan-Markle-face-cross-examination-privacy-claim-High-Court-appeal-hearing-told.html
Within the article they reveal that Meghan has never responded to points made by them that had been ordered by the court.
That's a new piece of information or rather it is confirmed in court because each new hearing brought this point up repeatedly and she kept asking for extensions without following through on each new extension.
Who knew that you could refuse to follow court orders without incurring penalties or incurring the wrath of judges!!!
"So what happens now that Warby has denied them the permission to appeal?"
They can still appeal directly to the Court of Appeal.
Meghan did the same with FF. She lost the hearing to exclude it in the case, and the Judge refused her permission to appeal the decision, but she went ahead directly to the court of appeal. Lost again.
"Conclusion is £450,000 costs to Meghan now, with the possibility of more to follow.
Damages will assessed at a future hearing.
Copies of the letter do not have to be handed over at this stage.
MoS refused permission to appeal, but can still challenge at Court of Appeal
Kirkorner"
Considering her costs are close to £1.5M, and she's waivered maximum damages in favour of nominal costs, she just might end up with just £450K which leaves her with £1M out of pocket because nominal damages tends to be just £1.

I am off to our local bookstore in a moment on the same mission. I actually worked a two hour book-signing event with him as a student, and have a Grinch book he signed to me. He was very kind, gruff humor, quite old, and extremely nervous. I recall he almost seemed terrified when he saw the crowd of parents and children that day, not sure why as they were orderly, but he quietly asked us to bring him a paper takeaway coffee cup with a double cocktail in it. My manager sent me to a bistro next door and I brought it back (luckily they didn’t ask for proof of age). He sipped throughout the event, and managed, saying things like, “keep reading! Read more! Find out what you like, and read lots of it! Now go to your library too!”
And, I agree — the Harkles must neeeeed some money. Maybe they drove Doria to a cash station Sunday to take out her $$$$ for caviar.
Possibility.
I didn't expect Warby to give them permission to appeal but I believe that if they go to the CoA, the ANL will win.
How soon should we expect the hearing to determine if they can appeal?
I guess I get the desire to not clog the courts, I guess I get allowing everyone/mostly everyone to have one bite of the apple and severely restricting those who get a second bite. I guess. But never will I understand the logic of requiring a defendant to seek permission to file an appeal and requiring that permission to come from the same judge who ended the case with a SJ requested by the claimant! Isn't saying yes to an appeal under those circumstances the same thing as admitting there's a reasonable chance the summary judgment was wrong?
Some celebrities, notably footballers trying to hide an affair for instance, have applied for super injunctions:
'A super-injunction is an instrument of English law that prevents the publishing of any details from an ongoing legal case, including the existence of the case itself.'
The name of the person applying for the super injunction cannot be revealed.
.....meanwhile in the UK, old people are fined £300 for sitting on a park bench.
Welcome to the era of Queen Rachel Meghan Harkle.
Ha 750K in legal fees, maybe judge warby parker does have a sense of justice ;-)
Colbert has said on the show many moons ago he had no interest in the Sussex drama.
https://youtu.be/5_UBhPQwVAs
Transcript (0:00-2:18):
Stephen Colbert: Hey everybody! Welcome back to a Late Show. I'm your host Stephen Colbert. We're - we're excited to see you. That's why I said "welcome back." Just a weekend is too long to be away from you. We're gonna kick things right off with the only story that matters tonight and that's what's on TV next Sunday because my CBS colleague Oprah Winfrey has released a teaser of next weekend's blockbuster interview with Prince Harry & Meghan Markle.
SC: Oh my God! I can't believe actual royalty is gonna talk to Harry & Meghan. Mr. and Mrs. Sussex or Har-eghan as they are never called are undeniably everyone's favorite royals, right after the Queen, Kate Middleton, and the Duke of Hastings from the waist down. Mmm! Mmm! God I hope that's a blur. He should see a doctor. This interview is all anyone can talk about even though there's nothing to talk about because the show won't air until Sunday 8PM Eastern, 7:00 Central on your local CBS station. Smooth.
SC: But still the anticipation is wild. For 24 hours, this interview was the top of "The Drudge Report." Normally to make it that high on "Drudge," you got to be an ad promising one weird trick to shrink your enlarged prostate or a tactical vest for your enlarged prostate. So, what they talk about? From the teaser, it's a little hard to tell.
Oprah: Were you silent or were you silenced?
Oprah: I just want to make it clear to everybody, there is no subject that is off limits.
Oprah: You've said some pretty shocking things here.
Oprah: Wait, hold -- hold up, wait a minute.
SC: Wow! Whatever they said, and it is unknowable, it clearly stunned Oprah. So, it's either something really juicy and dishy or she asked for sparkling water and the waiter brought her still.
SC: But you heard her - no subject was off limits. Which I hope means the first hour is hot goss on the cast of "Suits." Is Gabriel Macht a diva? Also, who is Gabriel Macht? I haven't seen the show. I heard good things. What else is going on?
Great news today with the Mail going to appeal - I literally stuffed myself with a whole bag of popcorn when I heard that.
I hope Prince Phillip pulls through and manages to live a few more years, his life of true service is admirable, not just as Consort to the Queen but also for being a WWII veteran and the sterling work done with the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
@AnT - loved your stories, thanks as always to everyone for their humour, great writing. I'm still miles behind on reading it all as this thread moves so fast with the endless s***show spewed out by the odious duo.... I hope to catch up soon but what with todays court case news I think that will be just wishful thinking!
More questions for Oprah to ask:
1. It was revealed in Finding Freedom that Doria was receiving a monthly allowance from Charles or the Palace - is she still receiving this and if not when did this end? (actually can't remember if it was in FF or Lady C's book, and if it was a monthly allowance or just an 'allowance'...)
2. Are you still receiving any funding from Charles? And if so, will this continue?
3. Who is paying for your protection?
4. Did you pay for your house deposit or did you get some assistance with the funding?
5. Are you paying for your mortgage?
6. When you corrected your details on Archies birth certificate why did you leave the incorrect information of Windsor Castle being your home address and not amend this also?
Re Warby and the appeal, I don't know but I can't imagine he would preside over the appeal. This has the be heard by a different judge, or else Warby might be going against himself. In any case, cases are generally heard by three judges but I don't know if applies to civil cases as well as criminal ones.
👏👏👏 superb questions. I would love them to be asked.
But then, the editor cuts to a slo-mo version of the Harkles reacting, and the sound over is that funny “Oh Yeah” slo mo low voice over rapid beat music effect from the Ferris Bueller film. So, saying “ohhhhhhhhhhhh Yeahhhhhhhh” running with each question as they freak and try to think of a reply.

Stephen Colbert's team is taking an absolute piss out of the special. It's his normal style. It points to the fact the interest is in the drama around the special, rather than the special itself. 'suits' lol.
I saw Stephen Colbert live once. He was hilarious and extremely vulgar and derogatory which surprised me.
Author Tom Bower hopes Meghan & Harry @Oprah interview goes ahead on @ITV & @CBS
despite Prince Philip being in hospital. He said: "I think ITV was right to buy the interview. We want to see how Harry and Meghan have sold their souls and are wilfully destroying themselves".
OMG! :D
At 1.75 playback she speaks quite clearly and at what I consider "normal" speed (New Yorker here) and it is WAY easier to listen to without feeling like I could be doing 18 other things. Lady speaks sloooowwwwwww. I guess the upper class has all the time in the world right?
The playback speed settings are found in the lower right corner of the YouTube screen from clicking the gear icon.
Thank you for that tip.
Lady C has a new video today.
Prince Philip's ITA; Harry/Meg playing race & victim cards/Oprah targets RF.
On costs, Mos ordered initially to pay £450k to Meghan, however, full costs calculated further down the line. She will get 90% of cost of her January summary judgement application. Her total estimate for the whole case was £1.5m. Not clear how close she'll get to that figure.
This looks as though Warby has allowed her 90% of costs for her January filing only. I'm not sure if & when anything will be paid, as the MOS is heading to the Court of Appeal, & yes, Warby will not hear that case.
Below is a retweet from RR Richard Palmer's twitter feed, from someone called Royal Astrologer. I have no idea if the tweeter knows what he/she is talking about.
Replying to @crustyq and @PorneMichaels
Her lawyers won’t act on appeal unless they are PAID upfront as they think now they lose .... very telling
HEY EVERYONE,
New text from a friend: “Look like mom and dad to be don’t wear seatbelts?”
I looked again and I don’t see them either?
.
@charade,
Ha! Great find! Go Colbert! Did the favor for Oprah and the network, while burying our two trash pandas. Well done.
Lady C put out a new video this morning. She says that PP had such a fit anger/rage(she gives medical name. ITA?) at what The Harkles have been doing that his blood pressure went through the roof, and that's why he was transferred to the other hospital. The Harkles are responsible for this. If he dies, Harry will be held responsible by many people. what a horrible thing to do to your grandfather, and to just ignore it is- I have no words.
I just watched her video that ends with "Know your place!" at 1.75 and it was great. There were only a couple words I didn't quite catch and at a couple moments where she must move/speak quickly it seems like the video is cut (it's not) as a result of the speed but otherwise it is quite pleasant.
If 1.75 is too fast you can always do 1.5 which is great too. Even when she laughs! Wow I can't imagine watching that 75% slower ha ha ha.
Hmmm. This could be a great feature for slowing down foreign language videos to work on my French. People can speak too fast for me.
It comes just one day after President Biden omitted Dr. Seuss from Read Across America Day, which is held annually on the author's birthday on March 2
And Laura Ingalls Wilder's portrayals of Native Americans in her 'Little House On the Prairie' novels have been faulted so often that the American Library Association removed her name in 2018 from a lifetime achievement award it gives out each year.
In Obama's 2014 proclamation, he had said: '[Dr Seuss'] tales challenge dictators and discrimination. They call us to open our minds, to take responsibility for ourselves and our planet.'
In 2015, Obama stated: 'The works of Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known to us as Dr. Seuss, have sparked a love for reading in generations of students. His whimsical wordplay and curious characters inspire children to dream big and remind readers of all ages that 'a person's a person no matter how small.'
The following year, Obama said in 2016 that Seuss was 'one of America's revered wordsmiths' who 'used his incredible talent to instill in his most impressionable readers universal values we all hold dear.'

Excerpts from today's article DM on Dr. Seuss. The article states Biden removed the books from a list not that he was the purp behind the movement. Towing the party line, business as usual, as all politicians do.
As a child I adored Dr. Seuss' book however I found The Cat in the Hat rather creepy. I couldn't understand why that weird cat came into the home of children left alone, to create chaos. I still hate him lol... I especially love the one given to high school grads Oh, the Places You'll Go! Very inspirational.
I did however, and still do, love Laura Ingalls Wilder. I read those books from cover to cover way into my college days. Go figure. I never found them offensive. Mrs. Ingalls was a product of her times in her distrust of Natives. This mentality still pervades...
I even went to visit the Wilder's farm in Missouri when I was a young woman. I will always be a fan of hers. And I loved the TV show too!
Things are changing. We boomers are having a hard time accepting the changes as did old folks when we were young. Nothing new under the sun.
I am curious to see if Mr. Obama will make any statement on this.
@Puds
Oh my god. If anything irreversible or final happens to Prince Philip due to the Harkles, they must be cut off in every possible way. The public will never let them forget it.
Come on, Prince Philip, don’t let these losers be your downfall. 😥
thanks for the tip on the yt vids. I will try that.
Just got the alert on the new LCC vid. Thanks! I can bet H&M have a lot to answer for their damn disrespect to their elders. Disgusting!
I found 1.5 to be easy listening for anyone who's not ready for the 3x level.
It works! Oh my goodness! I am going to start building your shrine today! I did 1.5.
Yay! Thank you! 🙏
Thanks for providing all of that court info.
......And hasn’t Meghan “defiantly” failed to turn over phone and email records?
Oh, Warby, we see you.
You're more than welcome. 😊
I really do enjoy Lady C's videos... and she makes me chuckle so much when mimicking Meghan's theatrics. The pair of them are vile and have no respect for anyone, yet alone their elders!
Loathsome pair of twits! 😒

That is a short-lived lack of blood to the brain, can be caused by a blockage in one of the carotid arteries. The stent may be a clue - one use of there is to hold carotid arteries open in such cases.
It would certainly chime with mention of apoplexy, an old word for a stroke brought on intense emotion, usually rage.
How does it Charles's visit to his father in hospital fit with the timing of the news about changes in the Harkles postal arrangements?
'Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will discuss the issue of race in Britain with Oprah Winfrey, it was revealed today.
The Duchess of Sussex will also open up about her self-esteem while living in the UK after her husband claimed the pressure of being in London was 'destroying' his mental health so they needed to emigrate to the US and quit as frontline royals.'
......
'ITV has today been branded 'deplorable' after it bought up the Duke and Duchess and Sussex's 'grossly insensitive' two-hour interview with Oprah despite warnings its broadcast could detonate a 'diplomatic bomb' if the Duke of Edinburgh's health deteriorates. Philip is starting his third week in hospital after being moved to a cardiac unit, and hasn't seen his wife the Queen for more than a fortnight.

It just gets worse and worse.
When you're immature or have delayed development and are never told No, you're going to constantly care what others think for either your self-worth or ability to manipulate. When people detest you it's harder to manipulate them.
Also, it's hard to make money with a poor reputation in entertainment.

It is very interesting and telling that Meghan wouldn't advise her husband to switch up his suit colors more. I would tell my guy that. It is actual proof in a visual sense of her narcissism. She really doesn't give two figs about what he wears or probably much else about him. As she sits there in something very expensive to merch as well as expensive jewelry and Diana's jewelry. It is truly about her and only her. Not Archie, not her unborn, not her husband the Prince of England, not her mother, not her father. HER
Does `Green Eggs and Ham' offend Vegans?
I give up.
Or did they see her coming and start ordering cheap replicas, to be on the safe side?
@Jocelyn’sBellinis,
@Puds

Come on, Prince Philip, don’t let these losers be your downfall.
Hear, hear. The Bridge of Forth must rally to stand beside his Cabbage and give her the courage to disown the traitors. Let's not have any more of the 'beloved members of my family' schtick. No one could possibly have any warmer feelings toward the poisonous pair after their antics of this week. Harry goofing on top of a bus was tacky enough, but this Oprah interview is going to be worse than Diana's Panorama blunder. By the time Di sat down with Martin Bashir, she had already aired all that laundry in her Andrew Morton book 3 years prior. Everyone knew about Camilla and Charles--that was not relevatory. Charles made a Thomas Markle blunder when he gave the Jonathan Dimbleby interview trying to defend himself, however much he might have felt justified in doing so. Nothing to be gained by a tit-for-tat display. Diana was wronged by her husband and her in-laws, but in the end, Charles's behavior was pretty boilerplate standard for his circles, and Diana should have known that. I think she did know it, and she knew before the wedding that Charles' heart was given to another. Her Panorama interview was obtained by deception and it was not nearly as explosive as this new one threatens to be. But if they were going to cast out the mother of the future King into outer Siberia for going on TV and saying out loud that she didn't appreciate being the third wheel in her own marriage . . what punishment is fitting for the treats Haze and Mess will have in store?
I don't see any possible way Harry can be restored to his family after this. This wasn't just about wanting to earn his own money and be free of Royal responsibilities. He has made it as clear as can be that he HATES his family with every fiber of his nasty little self and will collude with his wife to undermine the activities and reputation of the Crown at every opportunity. It doesn't matter any more that he is the weaker personality in this partnership--he is fully complicit. His grandfather may be near death and he's bleating on American telly about how rough his life has been.
Charles and William and the whole family are dealing with PP's health crisis and the inevitable changes it's going to bring. Even if PP recovers this time and comes home, it is only a matter of time before he will leave us all. Harry is deranged with greed and selfishness; it's like he's possessed. It is so hard for me to believe that, as ill-tempered and poorly behaved and stupid as he as always been (that we have found out belatedly) that he could sink to such levels of bitter hate and sabotage against his grandparents and the entire family. This is treason, there is no other word for it. I think from now on, if it's not already being done, the Harkles are going to have to be under MI6 surveillance, full-time. Who knows where they are living, who they are meeting, and what they could be plotting against the monarchy with fringe groups? They have become emotional terrorists against Harry's family.
This is beyond a lazy playboy just acting up and refusing to work . . .this is a tragedy worthy of a Shakespearean play. Well, Harry is Macbeth, with his Lady Megbeth, and it did not end well for the Macbeths. They both went to hell where they belonged. The rightful heir was restored to the throne, but not without much bloodshed and the murder of an anointed sovereign who loved and trusted his killer like a son or a grandson. Macbeth had lust in his heart for the crown of the King, but by himself, he never would have been pushed to regicide and rank homicidal insanity . . if not for the poisoned words of his evil wife dripping into his ear.
When the inevitable happens and Prince Philip dies, Harry had better not attend the funeral, if he wants to keep breathing. I don't think the people will stand for his presence, and certainly not for hers, that black-eyed snake.
I don't like Cat in the Hat because he scared me as a child. My post up thread gives an explanation. I don't know if others are putting a color on him? Otherwise I have no issue with Dr. Suess books :)
Great point about vegans and Green Eggs and Ham. It's rather ridiculous the hoo haw lol.
How long before the wokerati come for paki-bashing Harry the Nazi or white-face Meghan Markle? Glad to hear the MoS are appealing but it might be a stitch up job from the Court of Appeal - they do not do what they do not want to do and they can regard all twelve points as de minimis. I would say every case has one perhaps two good points; if you can't get home on that you are wasting your time and so twelve looks like thin gruel, but I do not want to be pessimistic.
@Puds, thanks for all the additional info on the lawsuit.
Here in the US, we're used to seeing huge awards whittled down considerably by the appeals process. I don't know how things work in the UK. Warby got tetchy with MOS" attorney. Did he want to kick the can down the road? @Opus has told us that appeals in the UK have a high failure rate, I believe. We'll see if the MOS can gain some traction.
It looks like folks in the UK are going to get the full, 'you're all nasty racists' treatment from Megs & Hegs. We get it 24/7 here in the US, so it's not that big a deal here. You see what happened to Dr. Seuss. Oh well, these things come & go. Apparently The Grapes of Wrath was banned as communist propaganda in the US back in the day. Now 'poverty porn,' ie rich directors & actors making movies about poor people, not actual porn, is big here. Nomadland got a couple of Golden Globes, I believe.
I hope Prince Philip can be kept oblivious to the Harkle antics until he improves. If Charles is upset, he should realize he has been the Harkle's chief enabler.
Thanks for the validation. I thought it was just me :)
Today is his birthday (b. 1904), so that makes the timing of this announcement pretty weird. I am a children's librarian, so this is a matter of professional interest for me. I just did a Dr. Seuss story time on Facebook this morning, in fact, but did not read any of the contentious items. Honestly, the only one people ask for out of that group is "To Think I Saw it on Mulberry Street". It's a very busy book, as all of his are, and I just flipped through it cursorily. I saw the word 'China'.
The Cat in the Hat is black, possibly a tuxedo cat, and a spiffy dresser. I believe there is some controversy surrounding the Cat as harkening from the blackface minstrel tradition, and by gum, he does come to incite anarchy upon two white children and their put-upon goldfish who is the sole voice of reason in the proceedings. I was always with the Goldfish.
I am sadly unsurprised by this development. We've already seen Laura Ingalls Wilder posthumously abused as a racist and her name removed from the Laura Ingalls Wilder award for Children's Literature--the kiddie lit equivalent of a Lifetime Achievement Academy Award. All because she truthfully reported the speech of her 1860s era elders through the lens of childhood memory. It's been a couple of years since that happened, and it was then I seriously started to think that it was time for me to leave the profession. Wokeness is going to follow me wherever I go, sadly, in any career.
Dr. Seuss has his own award, the Theodor Seuss Geisel award, given each year to the top book(s) for emergent readers. He knew, before it was cool, that rhyming text helps little kids learn how to read, and he also knew that little kids are entertained by nonsense words. He has never been a favorite of mine, though I like the Grinch a lot. He was very much a product of the psychedelic 1960s and early '70s and a lot of his books have aged poorly. They look like the brainchildren of an old hippy on an acid trip.
But the kids love him. For 60+ years, he has entertained kids. The ones being objected to in this round are no great loss to the canon of children's literature, but it's only a matter of time before classics like 'Fox in Socks', 'Hop on Pop' and 'Green Eggs and Ham' will be found to be racist, promoting violence or misogyny or in some other way unacceptable.
I feel your pain. I too worked in a city library back in my early career in government. I did children's story hour and the kids loved those books
I agree. Upthread I mention how LIW was removed from the esteemed literary list because of an antiquated view
her mother held. Laura herself always loved and looked forward to her visits from her Native neighbors.
Things are changing, sometimes not always for the best. It certainly sets a disturbing precedence.
MOS will not flip her
And her lawyers it seems
This is their scheme
The Wobbly one
Is done and out
To a higher Judiciary
All over but the shouting
Wobbly is out of this scene
Will not squeal on the Queen
Who pushed him on up
To stop more Royal disrupt
Megsy was enough
She called the RF bluff
In order to win
Now she can spin spin spin
Her tales of woe and frustration
Across the British nation
That never saw one so vile
On their long Sceptered Isle
Surely they cannot be so utterly thick and tone deaf as to imagine that they can continue to prostitute themselves as 'humanitarians' if the interview goes ahead?
I think Camilla is a canny lass and her subtle references to 'coercive control' and more recently, blackmail, should not be ignored and are in line with my thinking that something very sinister is going on. What exactly I don't know, but it stinks.William needs to pull his finger out if he wants to protect both his family and his birthright.
Can you please provide us some witticisms
in the spirit of Dr. Suess?
😢🙏😢🙏😢
Thanks! All of the girls knew that my game was softball, and that I could beat them on the diamond, so it was just good fun to do a little razzing at me for the basketball debacle. I'd razz them back during baseball season. It was all in good fun, as we were like a large group of sisters, thank goodness!

We really appreciate your input on this complicated matter!
Could you very kindly provide us your opinion on how Markle's summary judgment win meant the court was prevented from hearing the testimony of all the witnesses that ANL had made ready? Also how could the initial decision be made in Markle's favor when she failed over and over again to provide court-requested documents, and was caught being untruthful in various submissions?
Warby has denied ANL's initial appeal. What is your opinion on their chances with the Court of Appeals? Would you be able to give us a brief idea of how that step would work? And can we assume ANL would not have to work with Warby again now that he is assigned to the COA?
I believe H&M would get some begrudging good will if they delayed or cancelled the interview. Hell, I'd even give them a nod. But they will NEVER do that. Meghan would never, ever, ever do that. She's waiting on the days and minutes for it to air.
I'd love to hear William tell his brother to f off and to take his horrid wife with him.
TheGrangle- You are so right about Camilla. I watched that piece that she recorded about abuse and control and she was so steely eyed during it that, well, you'd have to be dense to not see that she was saying it about someone she knew well. Also, that long stare she gave Meghan last year, I can't remember the event, but Camilla wanted to get Meghan's eye, but Meghan looked down and kept singing. Camilla's not the type to be afraid of Meghan.

Blind Item #3
The alliterate one is going to be out of pocket well over $1.5M after all is said and done for a $1 win. She doesn't have that kind of money, but her husband does. She told him for sure, the other side would have to pay. She was wrong.
I loved the Little House books too- and introduced them to my children. There are a lot of books written in other times that used terms we would not use today- Caddie Woodlawn is probably another one.
So much to read and ponder here these past two days - I'm afraid my work ethic has not been what it should be with popping in and out to see what has been added!
Well done for your latest poem!
New CDAN blind: "The alliterate one is going to be out of pocket well over $1.5M after all is said and done for a $1 win. She doesn't have that kind of money, but her husband does. She told him for sure, the other side would have to pay. She was wrong."

@CG33
Thanks for the blind!
I'm wondering if the "$1 win" is a typo and should read "$1M win"
I'm so glad ANL is trying to appeal and hope they take it all the way!
Meghan Markle has been planning tell-all interview with Oprah for two years - since the palace's PR team squashed the Sussexes' sit down with Gayle King in 2019
• Meghan originally tried to arrange a televised interview with friend and CBS anchor Gayle King after her son Archie's birth in May 2019
But the Duchess of Sussex was overruled by the Royal Family's public relations machine, sources tell DailyMail.com
• Insiders say King and Oprah have been in talks over a sit-down with the Sussexes ever since, eventually leading to the interview set to air on CBS on March 7
• Meghan was hoping to do a 'short interview' in 2019 about her time adjusting to Royal life and becoming a mother
• PR at Kensington Palace quickly put a stop to the plans fearing 'it would alienate the UK press', a source close to the controversy said
'They were emphatically told she could not conduct her own lengthy interviews with US media friends after Archie's birth,' the source said
• The source said there was 'an element of feeling handcuffed' and 'not having full ownership of their image'

Poor Megsy, muzzled by the Palace, no wonder she had to flee to safety! Has she still not learnt that you don't wash your dirty linen in public? Can she not let it go? Surely, this is now tantamount to revenge against the BRF. So much for kindness and compassion.
Sounds like it could be the Harkles except for the phrase “They already have one or more children” so maybe Teigen and Legend?
I am wondering if they contracted with a surrogate who got pregnsnt last May or June, which, if Meghan got pregnant at about the same time with the pregnancy that ended in a miscarriage and the surrogate is about to deliver three or four months ahead of Meghan’s latest pregnancy? Or another scenario. If they have only a child from the surrogate, will Meghan pretend to have a preemie who suddenly has a huge growth spurt?
Any thoughts?

BABY INSURANCE
Babies generally don’t need insurance policies.
However, parents sometimes seek insurance to make sure that they get the baby they want!
This married celebrity couple consists of a man who has been famous for decades and a woman who came along much later. However, she is now almost as famous as her husband.
They already have one or more children but wanted more.
After the wife experienced a loss, they decided to insure their chances of having another baby
In addition to the wife trying to get pregnant herself, they hired a surrogate.
Since all of this was going on around the same time, there was the possibility that one or both of them would get pregnant.
If only the wife got pregnant, fine. If only the surrogate got pregnant, fine. They could have the wife pretend to carry the baby.
What if both got pregnant?
“If the due dates were close, they could pass them off as twins that the wife had carried.”
“If the due dates were far apart, they would have to decide how creative to be with their explanation.”
This couple flip flops back and forth between seeking publicity and demanding privacy, so we really don’t know how all this is going to end up.
Beautifully stated. I sincerely wish William could read what you wrote, to understand what people see.
.
Yes, the Baldwins. She had a baby sometime in September, and just welcomed another full-term-looking baby five months later.
Alec once said on a talk show that she is “a baby collector.”
I’m sure WBBM will know the proper quote and I think it’s from Churchill during WWII didn’t he say something along the lines of
Once I thought that Greeks fought like Heroes, now I know that Heroes fight like Greeks?
Don’t have PP down for the count yet.
By this yacht girl so crude
That only Harry would marry
Only Harry would carry
With Royal vows at the altar
Let's not just fault her
As Wobbly lets stand
His stupid decisions
With no revisions
Now Megsy will spread
The sabotage lying
Within her head
Her toxic viral load
Sent across all lands
As Wobbly lets stand
The British people demand
They want The Remand
To The Tower
This! Within Wobbly's powers
LavendarLady- I always thought the cat in the hat was strange too. Pervy LOL
Youngest granddaughter didn't want to have anything to do with Santa Claus. She would not sit on his lap and tell him what she wanted for Christmas. She did not want him to bring her presents. She told me "I want the Box Man to bring me presents!" I asked "What? Who is the Box Man?" She gave me a scornful look and said "You know, the Box Man? The one that brings boxes to our house with things in them!" "Oh, the UPS man! Why, honey?" "Because Santa Claus spies on us to see if we've been naughty. He watches us when we are asleep. It's just creepy."
Well, when you put it like that...I expect, though, that the reason was more that she was a very naughty little girl (grin). Whenever her mother complains about her antics, I point out that smallest granddaughter is EXACTLY like her mommy.

PART 1
Meghan faces new court battle as Mail on Sunday launches appeal
David Brown
Tuesday March 02 2021, 5.00pm GMT, The Times
The Duchess of Sussex faces a continuing legal battle over a letter she sent to her father, after The Mail on Sunday claimed that a judge failed to appreciate the significance of a ruling on Boris Johnson’s “lovechild”.
Meghan sought £1.5 million in legal costs yesterday after a judge ruled that the newspaper had breached her copyright by reproducing parts of a handwritten letter sent to her estranged father, Thomas Markle.
Lord Justice Warby had granted summary judgment in relation to most of the duchess’s copyright claim, saying that The Mail on Sunday’s articles “copied a large and important proportion of the work’s original literary content”. Some outstanding issues are due to go to trial in October.
He also gave summary judgment in relation to her privacy claim, meaning that she won that claim without having to go to trial.
Today he awarded the duchess, 39, an interim payment of £450,000 towards her legal costs.
He also ordered Associated Newspapers, which publishes The Mail on Sunday and Mail Online, to provide an account of its profits related to the publication of the letter, which will be paid as damages for breach of copyright.
The judge said that he would grant “a final injunction restraining misuse of private information” but not an injunction in relation to her copyright claim.
Ian Mill QC representing the duchess, has sought an order requiring Associated Newspapers to publish a statement about her victory on the front page of The Mail on Sunday and the home page of Mail Online “to act as a deterrent to future infringers”.
But Antony White QC representing The Mail on Sunday, said that the judge’s ruling was “inconsistent” with a Court of Appeal judgment in 2013 which ruled that the public had a right to know about the private lives of public figures such as politicians.
It followed an application by Helen Macintyre, an art consultant and former mistress of Boris Johnson, to keep secret the existence of their alleged lovechild.
The court heard that Macintyre had spoken to friends about the identity of the girl’s father and had speculated about it in a magazine interview.
White said that the judge had failed to take into account claims that five of the duchess’s friends, who are covered by a court secrecy order, had given details of the rift with her father to People magazine which had been “one-sided and/or misleading in several significant and specified respects”.
He said that Warby had also failed to take into account the newspaper’s claim that the duchess was “writing a document for the public record upon advice from royal family members and palace communications staff and for use as part of a media strategy”.
White said that the judge had disregarded the potential significance of a letter on behalf of four members of Kensington Palace staff offering to give evidence that could “shed light” on the newspaper’s case that they had helped to write the letter.
Good Queen Bess never let affection, blood relationship or sentiment get in the way of decisive action when traitors threatened the stability if the Realm.
Jason Knauf, former communications secretary to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, is alleged by the newspaper to have prepared the draft of the letter sent to Meghan’s father and therefore to have the benefit of copyright.
Samantha Cohen, the Sussexes’ former private secretary, Sara Latham, their former director of communications, and Christian Jones, their former deputy communications secretary, have also agreed to give evidence.
Warby had ruled that the publication of Meghan’s letter to her father was “manifestly excessive and hence unlawful”. He said: “It was, in short, a personal and private letter.”
He refused permission for the newspaper to appeal, saying that there was no “realistic prospect” of success but granted an additional two weeks for it to apply directly to the Court of Appeal.
The duchess said after the original ruling that she was grateful to the court for holding the publisher “to account for their illegal and dehumanising practices”.
Buckingham Palace last month removed the duke and duchess’s royal patronages, saying that their decision last year to step down as working royals was not compatible with “a life of public service”.
The couple, who announced the following day that they are expecting their second child, responded with a statement saying: “We can all live a life of service. Service is universal.”
I don’t trust OK! at all. Sounds like a “Harry is still important” PR news plant, pre-Oprah. But thought I would mention it.

“I wouldn’t let it break me. I wanted it to make me. I wanted her to be proud of the person I would become, and I didn’t want her worried or her legacy to be that William or Harry were completely and utterly devastated by it. She loved Harry and I dearly, even so I can sit here after 20 years and I still feel that love. I still feel that warmth 20 years on, which is a huge testament to her.”
— Prince William
Yep, this is Harkle PR.
What makes the Sussexes think they can just fly over and waltz in? Quarantine?
Phillip has a wife and four children, eight grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.
Harry is way down the list of people Phillip would want to see right now!
He drove away at the Sandringham summit rather than see his grandson and, like William, did not even want to have lunch with him.
Wow! The kraken is being released!
Her denials are futile, just as with the FF debacle. Lots of people involved, emails ... evidence!
She really is a piece of work!
Oh, the article is about her bullying staff, at a serious level. Harry is even denying that a meeting took place.
We have all been waiting for the release of the kraken but it seems to be spinning out of control.
If what Lady C said today about PP's blood pressure getting dangerously high enough to need to be transferred to another hospital due to Harry's antics, I would never allow Harry or MM to be anywhere near PP. Or HMTQ.
************************
I'm so glad that the palace workers are telling their stories about how horrible MM acted toward them. She is a dangerous woman, and I hope that more info will be released.
It's time to fight back, BP! Keep info on The Harkle's horrible behavior coming.
Please read this! OMG! Just as many of us suspected.
The entire article is on LSA. I posted the link above.
They are not allowing any comments on it and certain names are being withheld by the Times.
I am in the process of getting it ready to post here and will do so shortly....
Royal aides have hit back at the Duchess of Sussex before her television interview with Oprah Winfrey by revealing that she faced a bullying complaint from one of her closest advisers during her time at Kensington Palace.
The sources approached The Times because they felt that only a partial version had emerged of Meghan’s two years as a working member of the royal family and they wished to tell their side, concerned about how such matters are handled by the palace. The complaint claimed that she drove two personal assistants out of the household and was undermining the confidence of a third staff member.
It was submitted in October 2018 by Jason Knauf, the couple’s communications secretary at the time, seemingly in an effort to get Buckingham Palace to protect staff who he claimed were coming under pressure from the duchess. Prince Harry pleaded with Knauf not to pursue it, according to a source.
The Times was approached by sources who stated that they wanted to give their account of the turmoil within the royal household from Meghan’s arrival as Harry’s girlfriend in 2017 to the couple’s decision to stand down as working royals last year.
A spokesman for the Sussexes said they were the victims of a calculated smear campaign based on misleading and harmful misinformation. They said the duchess was “saddened by this latest attack on her character, particularly as someone who has been the target of bullying herself and is deeply committed to supporting those who have experienced pain and trauma”.
Knauf sent his email to Simon Case, then the Duke of Cambridge’s private secretary and now the cabinet secretary, after conversations with Samantha Carruthers, the head of HR. Case then forwarded it to Carruthers, who was based at Clarence House.
In his email Knauf said Carruthers “agreed with me on all counts that the situation was very serious”. He added: “I remain concerned that nothing will be done.”
Royal aides reveal Meghan bullying claim before Oprah interview | News | The Times
Sources say they were concerned that nothing was done at the time to investigate the situation, and nothing done since to protect staff against the possibility of bullying by a member of the royal family. Aides also insist that behind the scenes they did more to welcome Meghan and help her to find a role than has been publicly acknowledged.
They believe the public should have insight into their side of the story before watching the couple’s much-publicised interview with Winfrey, due to be televised in the United States on Sunday.
The couple’s lawyers told The Times that this newspaper is “being used by Buckingham Palace to peddle a wholly false narrative” before the interview.
However, The Times understands that the palace establishment is highly concerned that the allegations have emerged.
The sources have revealed a febrile atmosphere within Kensington Palace, where Meghan and Harry lived alongside the Cambridges after their wedding until the split between the two households at the beginning of 2019. Staff would on occasion be reduced to tears; one aide, anticipating a confrontation with Meghan, told a colleague: “I can’t stop shaking.”
Two senior members of staff have claimed that they were bullied by the duchess. Another former employee told The Times they had been personally “humiliated” by her and claimed that two members of staff had been bullied.
Another aide claimed it felt “more like emotional cruelty and manipulation, which I guess could also be called bullying”.
The duchess denies bullying and her lawyers stated that one individual left after findings of misconduct. The Times was not able to corroborate that claim.
At the time it was reported that the earrings were borrowed. The duchess does not deny this was what she said, despite being aware of their provenance.
On the same tour sources said the main reason that the duchess cut short an engagement in Fiji was because of her reservations about the organisation UN Women. It is not clear why she is said to have felt so strongly about its presence. The duchess denies the sources’ claims about the event.
Knauf wrote in his email: “I am very concerned that the Duchess was able to bully two PAs out of the household in the past year. The treatment of X* was totally unacceptable.”
He added: “The Duchess seems intent on always having someone in her sights. She is bullying Y and seeking to undermine her confidence. We have had report after report from people who have witnessed unacceptable behaviour towards Y.”
The email, which also expressed concern about the stress being experienced by Samantha Cohen, the couple’s private secretary, concluded: “I questioned if the Household policy on bullying and harassment applies to principals.”
The complaint was sent to the HR department. However, one source said: “I think the problem is, not much happened with it. It was, ‘How can we make this go away?’, rather than addressing it.”
After Harry was told about the complaint a source insists he had a meeting with Knauf in which he begged him not to pursue it. Lawyers for the duke and duchess deny that any meeting took place or that the duke would have interfered with any staff matter.
“The institution just protected Meghan constantly. All the men in grey suits who she hates have a lot to answer for, because they did absolutely nothing to protect people.”
Knauf‘s complaint never progressed. Two of the people named in his email are are said to feel that nothing has been done to investigate the bullying claim. The following month Knauf handed in his notice.
When the households split the following March he took up a job as an adviser to the Duke of Cambridge. He is now chief executive of the Cambridges’ Royal Foundation.
After a newspaper revealed that a PA had left after only six months, it is understood that the duchess became extremely concerned about the number of stories in the press about staff leaving. Her lawyers state that she did not read the press.
The tour of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga was a difficult one for staff, sources told The Times. When the duchess wore the earrings in Fiji given by the crown prince she told aides who were preparing to brief the media about her outfit for the state dinner that they had been “borrowed” from a jeweller, a source said, an explanation that was widely reported. This was three weeks after the murder of Khashoggi at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.
Lawyers for the duchess said she may have stated they were borrowed but did not say they were borrowed from a jeweller and denied that she had misled anyone about their provenance.
Although Case had no managerial responsibility for the staff mentioned in Knauf’s complaint, he is understood to have taken it seriously. He made sure it was sent to HR, and took a close interest in the welfare of the staff member still employed there.
The issue of staff — their treatment, and the fact that they were shared between William and Harry — became so pressing that William and Case accelerated the process of splitting the two households. “What was a long-term plan became an immediate plan,” a source said.
The spokesman for the Sussexes said in a statement: “Let’s just call this what it is — a calculated smear campaign based on misleading and harmful misinformation. We are disappointed to see this defamatory portrayal of The Duchess of Sussex given credibility by a media outlet. It’s no coincidence that distorted several-year-old accusations aimed at undermining The Duchess are being briefed to the British media shortly before she and The Duke are due to speak openly and honestly about their experience of recent years.
“In a detailed legal letter of rebuttal to The Times, we have addressed these defamatory claims in full, including spurious allegations regarding the use of gifts loaned to The Duchess by The Crown.
“The Duchess is saddened by this latest attack on her character, particularly as someone who has been the target of bullying herself and is deeply committed to supporting those who have experienced pain and trauma. She is determined to continue her work building compassion around the world and will keep striving to set an example for doing what is right and doing what is good.”
Buckingham Palace declined to comment.

Royal aides reveal Meghan bullying claim before Oprah interview
EXCLUSIVE
The Duchess of Sussex is accused of driving two personal assistants out of the household and was undermining the confidence of a third staff member

Royal aides have hit back at the Duchess of Sussex before her television interview with Oprah Winfrey by revealing that she faced a bullying complaint made by one of her closest advisers during her time at Kensington Palace.
The sources approached The Times because they felt that only a partial version had emerged of Meghan’s two years as a working member of the royal family and they wished to tell their side, concerned about how such matters are handled by the palace. @Sandie, Well, here's a turn up for the intersectionality books, super politically correct Megs apparently accepted, & then flaunted, some earrings given to her by Mohammed bin Salman, who even timid Joe Biden seems to be leery of, given his purported involvement in the murder of Jamal Khashoggi. She wore the earrings only 3 weeks after the murder was reported. Wow! Well done, ladies of Lipstick Alley, great reporting. Thanks, @Sandie, for directing us there. What a piece of work Megs is. Naomi Campbell, who has a fairly imperious personality herself, (as well as being much more beautiful than Megs) was much, much more astute & moral when handling diamonds given to her by a murderous African despot.
I'm just surprised that she wore them on her ears. I expected her to put some tassles on them and attach them to her ta-tas. (Maybe that's the Oprah surprise, she rips open that dress and displays the jeweled nipple pasties.)

The duchess denies bullying and her lawyers stated that one individual left after findings of misconduct. The Times was not able to corroborate that claim.
The Times can also reveal that the duchess wore earrings to a formal dinner in Fiji in 2018 that were a wedding gift from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia, who is said by US intelligence agencies to have approved the murder of the journalist Jamal Khashoggi. The dinner took place three weeks after the killing.
At the time it was reported that the earrings were borrowed. The duchess does not deny this was what she said, despite being aware of their provenance.
"Senior people in the household, Buckingham Palace and Clarence House, knew that they had a situation where members of staff, particularly young women, were being bullied to the point of tears".
So much for sisterhood and compassion. I am truly shocked

PART 1 - Vile Duchess - The Times
‘Nothing was ever good enough . . . Meghan left staff shaking with fear’
-Claims of aides in tears and heavy demands have put the Sussexes in the spotlight after their decision to leave royal life
-Before they were married, sources say a senior aide spoke to Harry and Meghan about their treatment of staff

The Duchess of Sussex has always prided herself on being a good boss. When she was in the American TV series Suits, she would sometimes buy the crew pizza. At Kensington Palace there was the occasion, recounted in the pages of People magazine in February 2019, when she paid for an ice-cream stand for staff. “They were remarking how it was the ‘best day of work ever’,” a friend said.
Some of those who worked for Meghan after she joined the royal family have less fond memories. Staff were bullied, according to sources, and some reduced to tears. One said they were humiliated by her on a number of occasions. According to the complaint revealed by The Times today, two PAs were driven from the household. The duchess denies any allegations of bullying.
The first sign that anything might be amiss came when a story appeared in a diary column in a national newspaper saying that Meghan’s personal assistant had left six months after the royal wedding. A week later the assistant was named in another paper as Melissa Touabti. “Meghan put a lot of demands on her and it ended up with her in tears,” a source was reported as saying.
Touabti was not the first member of staff to leave. Before her there was another PA, a young woman already employed by the palace. She did not stay long after Meghan arrived.
Both PAs signed non-disclosure agreements. There is no suggestion that Meghan tried to prevent them from speaking. Lawyers for the duke and duchess stated that she had no knowledge of the agreements and that they believed staff to be comfortable and happy.
In late 2017, after Harry and Meghan’s engagement was announced, a senior aide spoke to the couple about the difficulties caused by their treatment of staff. People needed to be treated well and with some understanding, even when they were not performing to their standards, they were told. Meghan is said to have replied: “It’s not my job to coddle people.”
Charles Cuts Ties As The Oprahgate Pity Party Begins
https://harrymarkle.wordpress.com/2021/03/01/charles-cuts-ties-as-the-oprahgate-pity-party-begins/
There is no doubt that Meghan could be a demanding boss. There were a number of people, allegedly including Harry himself, who suggested that those early problems were partly to do with cultural differences in management style. As Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand put it in their book about the couple, Finding Freedom: “Americans can be much more direct, and that often doesn’t sit well in the much more refined institution of the monarchy.”
However, The Times has spoken to insiders who have argued that it was about more than just American straight-talking. The duchess could be sharp with those she felt were letting her down, sources claim. One former staff member said: “I had unpleasant experiences with her. I would definitely say humiliated.”
After Jason Knauf, the couple’s communications secretary, made his bullying complaint, another member of staff was worried about spending time with her the next day because she feared that Meghan was about to find out. “This is why I feel sick,” they said.
Another time there was a row about whether Meghan had been told that the media would be present at an event. When she rang the aide, they rang back but she did not pick up. “I feel terrified,” the source said. “I can’t stop shaking.”
Another source said: “There were a lot of broken people. Young women were broken by their behaviour.” The source described one member of staff as “completely destroyed”.
Even before the wedding, staff were feeling the strain. One told a colleague the couple were “outrageous bullies” and said they were considering resigning. The colleague replied: “That’s so dreadful. And they are bullies.”
Sources claim the royal household feared that it would be held responsible for the duchess’s happiness.
The harsh treatment was not confined to junior staff. One source claimed that Samantha Cohen, the couple’s private secretary, had been bullied. Another said: “They treated her terribly. Nothing was ever good enough. It was, ‘She doesn’t understand, she’s failing.’” In fact, the source said, Cohen was “a saint” and the best organiser of royal tours they had known.
Lawyers for the duke and duchess said they remained close to Cohen and grateful for her support and dedication, acknowledging that she had come out of retirement to work closely with them at a busy time. They deny bullying her.
The Sussexes’ autumn tour in 2018, when they visited Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga, was stressful for staff, sources say. A senior adviser did his best to reassure them, saying: “You are dealing with a very difficult lady.”
The issue boils down to whether Meghan was a demanding boss with high standards, or a bully. Did her team fail her or did she ask the impossible?
In court papers for her successful privacy action against The Mail on Sunday, her lawyers said that when she was distressed by the negative stories in the media about her, her friends felt frustrated by the instruction from the palace communications team that they should respond “no comment” to allegations. That left her friends “rightly concerned for her welfare, specifically as she was pregnant, unprotected by the institution and prohibited from defending herself”, they said.
There just might be more Palace directed leaks every day, The Palace wants to hold sway, leading up to the Big O interview
Now, if somebody wants to send ME some of those earrings, I promise not to make them into pasties. Thanks in advance.
An alternative view, sources say, is that Meghan craved rejection from the moment she walked into Kensington Palace, and that nothing that anyone did would ever be good enough.
The palace knew that when Harry married a woman who was biracial, American and divorced, they had to go out of their way to make sure the marriage was a success: if it was not, the royal household and their supposedly hidebound ways would be blamed. “Everyone knew that the institution would be judged by her happiness,” a source said. “The mistake they made was thinking she wanted to be happy. She wanted to be rejected because she was obsessed with that narrative from day one.”
Lawyers for the duchess said this was entirely wrong. The duchess wished to fit in and be accepted and had left her life in North America to commit herself to her new role.
More than one source has expressed their view about her wanting to be a victim. One claimed: “She wanted to be the victim because then she could convince Harry that it was an unbearable experience and they had no choice but to move to America.” Lawyers for the duke and duchess denied this was true. Supporters of the couple have argued that Harry and Meghan were frustrated in their attempts to live their life in a different way.
Finding Freedom quoted a source close to the prince saying that “nothing could convince Harry that some of the old guard at the palace simply didn’t like Meghan and would stop at nothing to make her life difficult”. In her legal case against The Mail on Sunday, the duchess’s lawyers denied that the couple collaborated with the book.
Staff “bent over backwards” to accommodate Meghan before her wedding to Harry, it is claimed.
One source claimed that most of the tensions in the household at the time concerned the Sussexes’ relations with the media. “The way I see it, their view of not getting institutional support was that they were not getting permission to blow up the institution’s relationships with the media.” Again, lawyers for the duke and duchess deny this.
One conversation confirmed to The Times seems to reveal how much the palace was prepared to go out of its way to help Meghan. Before the wedding, the couple had a meeting with a senior aide who told them that the palace was doing everything it could to help and there was no need to think she had to take on her role in a particular way, a source said. If she was passionate about the acting world, they could help her to think about finding a role within the film industry.
The source said: “The entire place, because of everything about her, and because of what Harry’s previous girlfriends had been through, was bending over backwards to make sure that every option was open.” They said Meghan thanked them, but said she had no wish to carry on acting. Instead she wanted to concentrate on her humanitarian and philanthropic work, and to support Harry as a member of the royal family.
That might have been that, except of course it wasn’t. Part of the problem, according to the source, was that everyone in the palace was so genteel and civil; too genteel and civil: “When someone decides not to be civil, they have no idea what to do. They were run over by her, and then run over by Harry. They had no idea what to do.”
The duchess issued a detailed statement last night stating that the allegations were a smear campaign and an attack on her character.
Wow!!!!!! I can't believe it! What a bitch she was!!!
And they are calling her out for wanting to be unhappy so she could orchestrate the leave for the US!!!!
The Kraken has been released!!!!!
She must be pissed!!!!!!!
Maybe that explains whey they looked so sombre during their Sunday afternoon car journey!
