Open Post: New Hires and Fergie Going to Bat for the Sussexes

Is there a new chapter for the Sussexes? Are things looking up for them after Fergie signals support and they have a new former Disney+ exec heading Archewell content?

Let's discuss this and more...

I will post again, I believe the only reason Fergie is sucking up to Spare and TBW is she smells a possibility of money for herself...pathetic much?

From last thread con't:
@Hikari said,
Sarah is not black and she’s British born, so the expectations for her conduct are higher. From the get go the Palace was afraid to touch the American WOC.

____
Right on! The BRF are now walking on eggshells because of the race card TBW pulled out on them. She's one of those POC who have no class and do rotten things like that.

Sarah also has proven by her behavior over the years that she lacks "class" as well. IMO this is why Prince Phillip detested her. AND why Diana befriended her-to annoy the H out of the Firm.

JMHO.

Thank you Nutters - a new thread!
Fergie will latch onto anything if she thinks there is money for her.
Fergie would also understand the shunning by the Family and would be accepted by these two - in a moment of weakness. TBW is not stupid - she will see through Fergie and use her.
re Andrew's previous girl friend:

Koo Stark was an American actress, with a substantial resumé, but thanks to one role in particular, she was deemed `unsuitable' and `seen awf'.

Seen in retrospect, that was a great pity.

en.wikipedia.org › wiki ›Koo Stark

Had TBW been genuinely Caucasian, she too would have been given the Bum's Rush.

I can see now that H inherited a really nasty streak from his mother, given the allegations about Princess Michael's cat(s) and Diana's supposed motive for being so palsy-walsy with Fergie.

If you want to use emojis in HTML (I refer to your post in the previous thread), you could use emojis in Emojipedia. They have lists of emojis, chose a category and select an emoji, click on copy and then just paste directly in your post. For some faces or hands you can even leave them in yellow or choose between several skin tones. For this, scroll down a bit 😀

@HumorMe,
Thanks for the link! The article is a great source for understanding why they clicked as two young British aristo women who married into the RF. It said Diana fell out with Fergie due to Diana getting planter warts from Fergie's shoes, which Fergie had given her. Huh?? Lol! Why would Diana need or want Fergie's used shoes is the question loool.

Still wondering what Di's motive for being so friendly with Fergie was. Maybe she just liked her! Fergie did seem like a corker in her day.

@Maneki,
Aww thanks. So nice of you! I'll give it a go :)

I'm out of the loop...how did Fergie signal support for the 6s?
Since TBW made a scene at Eugenie's wedding, it just doesn't make sense that Eugenie's parents would do or say anything favorable for the Harkles.

Great question FiFi! I would never speak to that TBW again if I were Fergie BUT Fergie has motives. I think she would let it slide if it means cashing in on their hustle. Also, maybe it's a backhanded way to get payback.

I agree Sarah F often appears money-driven But she's also attention-driven, I think. Her daughters getting engaged, married and pregnant put her more in the "royal" spotlight than she's been for awhile. I think she'll just keep talking--about anything-- to avoid giving that up. (And to be fair, as discussed on the last thread, what she said wasn't as overall supportive of H&M as the headlines have suggested.)

Yep. And to be honest, we don't know how much of PA and Sarah the couple saw while in the UK before & after marriage. PA is one of Harry's godfathers (a little unusual for royals to name relatives) and we don't really know if PA & PH have been close over the years.

July 25, 2021

"Sarah Ferguson is addressing the fiasco unleashed by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after they gave an explosive interview to Oprah Winfrey.

While in conversation with The Telegraph, the Duchess of York spoke about her own interactions with Winfrey after she was asked to comment of Harry and Meghan’s explosive tell-all chat.

"All I want to say on this is that Oprah helped me greatly when I went to the US and was interviewed by her. I’m a great supporter of Oprah and everything that she does,” she said"

I think Fergie has a short shelf life. She's no longer attractive, charismatic, nor the young energetic royal with forgivable shenanigans. If Fergie's looking to hitch her wagon to the 6's star, she's gonna have to learn how to whine in a majorly way that garners attention.

@Fifi,
So true! Fergie has not aged well. In a world where looks are everything, I'm not so sure she'll be successful in Meghan's shallow social circle based on just her personality.

I don't think attaching herself to them will help. She's 20 years too late. I know. She and I are close in age and I'm very aware that I'm a has been lol :D

I think TBW would feel embarrassed by Fergie instead of genuinely trying to help her. Narcs see people as objects to use, and sadly Fergie's used up, by that sick viewpoint anyhow...
Este said…
Fergie is the highest ranking member of the Royal Family to side with Sussexes and against the RF. I think this is revenge for being iced and excluded from William and Kate's wedding and I also think she's doing it because she's got nothing to lose at this point. Thing is, she doesn't have any real social influence these days other than stirring the pot here, which also makes the move self-serving and obviously biased. It's also an attention seeking stunt and it worked. We're talking about her. Long term, this isn't that important because Fergie isn't that important.

Disney has been making woke shite for some time so it comes as no surprise the collab. I think people are sick of the woke entertainments and I really do think the Sussexes' nickle is up. Harry was right to be worried that his time in the sun is limited and this memoir is the last big of mudslinging grasping at relevance. The way I see it, they pretty much blew their load and the lines of support and disgust for them are drawn. This book and these projects aren't going to change that.

If the Sussexes were the "global brand" they claimed to be, they'd already be killing it in the deals and successful projects. I've said it before and nothing's changed in the way I see it either: they are on a slow ride to irrelevancy while William and Kate's popularity will rise over time. And, as their children grow, they will become more and more the focus and anchor to the family.
Este said…
One minor addition to what I posted, the deals look good on paper but the work itself is weak and therefore I think the valuations they toss out will in the end be far smaller because the work isn't compelling. Their only real currency is throwing rocks at the Royal Family. Oprah made her billions as a successful interviewer for decades. Michelle Obama was the first black first lady and a sharp lawyer in her own right. Meghan just married into the world's most famous family and helped her husband torch is own family the way she torched hers. She's not on their social or economic level.

I have zero respect for Sarah Ferguson. Yep, now that Prince Philip is gone she can start making noise again with impunity. Honestly, I think once the Queen is gone all bets are off with regard to the future of the Royal Family. No one will be able to rein in the rogue agents like Fergie and the Sussexes.
Enbrethiliel said…
My latest replies on the last thread, before I realized we had a new one:

@Fifi LaRue
I don't believe there's a deal for four books; that's more hyperbole from TBW. Only #6 received a book contract, and the advance was nowhere anything close to $20 million. The advance was probably closer to $750 thousand, because the publisher is also providing the ghost writer. Everything and anything that comes out of their camp is hugely inflated; about 95% of their "successes" are simply not true.

Ah, I had been wondering when Mrs. H's manifestation vision board would reveal itself again! They probably got a deal for one book and decided to manifest three more, including a "wellness book" for Mrs. H. The forecasted event of the Queen's death is like the anticipated Jubilee . . . or like Mrs. H's birthday at Balmoral, which, of course, her mind sets on the same level. The advance in the millions is the same old twaddle they tried with Netflix and Spotify, just with the names changed. (Someone could create a Harkle Mad-libs!)

A friend of mine is a published author in the US, and he recently shared these stats from the New York Times on his Facebook page:

1. Advances for books have dropped 40% in ten years.
2. In 2020, 98% of books sold less than 5,000 copies.
3. The median advance for books is now about $6000. (For me and non-US Nutties, he explained that that's about three months' rent.)
4. If you write a book and get it professionally published, you might make a fraction of federal minimum wage.

Undoubtedly, Prince Harry's name gives him an advantage that my friend and the majority of other writers don't have. But last year wasn't a great year for publishing and trends aren't looking up. (Besides that, Finding Freedom and The Bench both did poorly -- and in the case of the latter, the author did exactly one interview to promote it, which was taped beforehand, then used up the promotional budget sending autographed books out to celebrity mothers who mostly ignored her.) Even $750,000 is hard for me to imagine as an advance for a book "by" him.

@Wild Boar Battle-maid
It was a different time - British society has changed a great deal since then in terms of what is deemed `unacceptable'. We were more censorious all round then - and prepared to say what we thought.

Thanks for the extra context. If time period is also a factor, would you say that Mr. and Mrs. H's shenanigans would have been more heavily censured, by both the BRF and the people, had they happened back in 2012?

Then again, it's probably hard to say, given Mrs. H's R-card. It probably had greater value back then than it does now, when we're all incredibly tired of "woke" people telling us how to think and feel.

I agree with the reasoning that Sarah, with her background, truly should have known better in every stage of her life -- and should have shown a learning curve with every succeeding stage. But I can also imagine the Yorks smarting over a foreigner (race being irrelevant!) receiving more tolerance than one of their own. Don't both charity and loyalty begin at home?

And then comes a reasonable question:

@Sandie
what exactly is the Queen supposed to do that she has not already done?

The Harkles already "out" and receiving no money from either the Queen or Prince Charles. They're not allowed to use the HRH style in their commercial ventures. They've been iced out by the rest of the family (except, perhaps, by Sarah and Princess Eugenie?). If the BRF's aim is to keep the Harkles from hurting them, they don't want to do anything with long-term effects that will hurt younger royals.

Having said that, I'm sure the Yorks have some ideas. I sincerely want to hear their answer to Sandie's question. We'd have to weigh it against the fact that none of them has much to lose any longer -- but it would still be interesting!

Per Sarah Duchess of York, I can't even begin to fathom how that woman married into such a blue blooded family. She reminds me of the women we see at the weekend flea markets on a slow day. Crass, brawling, and vulgar. The proverbial fish monger's wife. No offense to fish mongers.

As other people have said, it's probably a true love match between Prince Andrew and Sarah. Had they not been ordered to divorce, they'd still be married. But with quiet measures having been taken behind the scenes to curtail Sarah's spending. At least one would hope so.

In some ways, I see Sarah as a forerunner to Mrs. H. The Queen was strict about Prince Charles's choice of bride, but much more tolerant about whom the "spare" could marry. She remained kind to Sarah even after the toe-kissing photos, the access-to-Andrew scandal and Sarah's six-part series on Oprah's network*. Ironically, the reason the British public have been quicker to condemn Sarah is probably the reason why the Queen has been quicker to forgive her. She is seen as "one of us." Not a blue blood, certainly, but a horsey, country-loving Englishwoman.

* This reminds me that I have no idea what the British public's reaction to the Finding Sarah series was. @WBBM and other British Nutties: Care to chime in?

@LL - I was referring to what you'd said/implied at 9.26 (near start of this thread)!

Mind you, Diana was quoted back then as referring, with delight, to `rattling their cages' so I imagine she pushed it as far as she dared - but the interview was one step too far.

The 2 of them were `partners in mischief', drawing attention to themselves in unfortunate ways, even as married women, IIRC. It was a sharp contrast with how the Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret (19 & 14) went out and about on the night of VE Day (May 1945), completely unrecognised by any of the rejoicing crowds. See:

I didn't see the Tom Bower article you mentioned upthread but I saw this one in the US Sun in Newzit:

'MEGHAN Markle "humiliated her critics and humbled the Royal Family", according to a biographer.

Tom Bower believes Meghan's next step is to "conquer the world" ahead of her 40th birthday on Wednesday.

He wrote in a column for The Sun: "She has humiliated her critics and humbled the Royal Family.

"Her next steps are to conquer America, then the world.

"Critics carp that Meghan’s megalomania has no limits. Her admirers retort that she is purposely fulfilling the American Dream."

Bower added: "Blowing out the 40 candles on her birthday cake on Wednesday, Meghan Markle will be rightly thrilled about her phenomenal triumph.'

'Phenomenal triumph'?? The rest is even worse sycophantic drivel.

I've long suspected the first part as well. And Harry is still family. He will be, whatever he does.

In this case, it's quite clever of them to use Fergie as a go-between. How appropriate, too. Harry will remember her as a jolly aunt and probably already feels she's the family member least likely to slam the phone down if he called. But since she's not very glamorous or exciting, she doesn't also appeal to his wife.

If the BRF are that willing to have him back -- even if they also keep him at arm's length for a very long while -- this proves what a warm, forgiving family they actually are behind the "never complain, never explain" image.

All my thoughts exactly!

Even the most extraverted people in the world aren't "close" to 65 people. If we count Doria, Oprah, Gayle and maybe James Corden, they will still need to dredge up another 60. And remember that they've ghosted or offended people who might have otherwise been happy to attend and to lend some star power. Jessica won't be there. Jennifer Meyer won't be there. Priyanka Jonas won't be there. Chrissy Teigen definitely won't be there. (I wonder if Chrissy will post some shade leading up to and on Mrs. H's birthday.)

Oh, wait. I have it! Those "non-famous tech billionaires" make up the guest list! "Close" friends whom he only met a few months ago. Of course.

EBooks are the modern way, not so complex to publish. Seems like old school publishing has gone the way of the buffalo...

Also, I agree 100% that Fergie was given a pass because she is from that circle and culture; British, horsey and aristo. Nothing wrong with that. They should have stuck to the formula though rather than try to appease POC. That's Charles' doing. Some barriers cannot be cracked no matter what.

I myself have different views entirely when with tribal folks. It's organic. Meaning we can't help but feel a certain way; it's innate. BUT I do know when to put a lid on it... Tribal folks meaning ethnic, minority, etc. I do it out of respect and love for my non POC friends and family. I can see why Di and Fergie commiserated. We all need that...

I hadn't heard of `Finding Sarah' and I've no idea if it was shown here or not. Oprah isn't big on this side of the pond.

I imagine that news of it would have been greeted with a yawn.

Thanks! I suspected as much, since I was the first one to bring it up.

All in all, the series seems neutral to the point of boring. If Sarah had hoped it would land her more opportunities in the US, well, nothing seems to have panned out. It's a good thing she didn't bash the Queen or the other royals, of course, but she also didn't bring much to the table for Americans beyond the novelty factor. Which she wouldn't have had any longer in the UK.

What could the queen do in the Sussex case? In my humble opinion, answer these questions.
Note: I love the queen.❤️

1)Why are they still listed as Presidents of the commonwealth & Harry still CG of the Marines? Why are the Sussexes members of the RF on the website.

2) Why is the IG Sussexroyal account active and can we comment on the tenth post?

3) Sussex Royal website is now being used to direct you to Archewell.

https://sussexroyal.com/

4)Why haven't Harry's sponsorships been passed on to senior working members?

O/T About COVID:

We are fully vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine. Whether y'all chose to be vaccinated (or not), I don't care. Your choices are your choices. I just want to tell you about the efficacy of an alternate treatment.

Husband was exposed to COVID from an infected (although she didn't know it) home health aide that has been helping care for his mother for the past year. The first we heard of it was Monday when her partner home health aide told husband that the previous aide had been quarantined for 14 days. I was up there the weekend that she was working and was exposed, although SwampMan had been first exposed a day earlier than I was.

As soon as I found out, I dosed myself with ivermectin appropriate to my body weight. SwampMan did not, because he feared ivermectin was harmful. He started having slight cold symptoms by Monday evening with more symptoms Tuesday evening such as congestion, cough, and body aches. He was worrying himself to death in fear that his dying mother might be hastened on her way to the hereafter by him, so I told him to get tested because he *might* just have a cold.

Wednesday he went to a doctor's office that offered rapid COVID tests while a hospice worker sat with his mother. He tested positive. On Thursday, he couldn't sleep and was in a great deal of pain from the constant cough and the worst headache he had ever had. He couldn't use his CPAP due to his nasal passages being nearly swollen shut. "Why aren't you sick?" he asked. "You were exposed as much as I was!" "Because I took ivermectin as soon as I found out about the exposure. Take yours!" "I can't. I gave it away." Well, dang.

I drove 4 hours north Friday to bring food supplies (such as things for quick sandwiches and easily prepared soup) for SwampMan. My poor dying mother in law ceased eating the week before the WuFlu arrived.

I dosed myself prophylactically (again) with the ivermectin since I'd been exposed to him. I wasn't sure that he would take it, so I personally drew up the ivermectin dosage from the bottle, took the needle off the syringe, and watched him squirt the syringe contents on his tongue. "Do you need some water to get the nasty taste out of your mouth?" "What nasty taste? I haven't been able to taste or smell anything for a couple days." "Lucky you!"

I also had him take an amino acid, NAC or N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine, which I have used to break up mucus accumulations from my chronic bronchitis (which was no longer a problem for me). Sadly, it is something that can't be purchased anymore in the US unless you can find some still on the shelf in a vitamin store because the administration decided the amino acid is a drug (probably because it is effective).

Approximately three hours later SwampMan texted me that maybe it was his imagination, but he was starting to feel better. The headache wasn't as severe. The next morning his headache was completely gone, as was his fever. He said he'd been able to sleep through the night for the first time in two days and his cough was mostly gone but productive, and he was coughing up some nasty stuff. He took a second dose of ivermectin Saturday late afternoon on his own. He's continuing to take the NAC.

Today his coughing is down to about a cough per hour, his sinuses are still draining, but he is suffering from an overwhelming fatigue.

I think those are good questions! Harry's patronages are beginning to be parceled out; I suspect the BRF is doing it very slowly on purpose. The Queen's Commonwealth Trust is a big deal, though, and it's high time we hear who the new President and Vice-President are.

But they'll probably always remain listed as members of the BRF, just as Sarah is. (The last time I checked, "Sarah, Duchess of York" was way down at the bottom of the list. But still on the list!) They're out as working members, but they're still in as family. The BRF can't just do the equivalent of scratching a black sheep's name out of the family bible.

O/T about COVID part 2:

Was his rapid improvement a result of the vaccine or the ivermectin/NAC combo? I dunno. He went from being unable to sleep Wednesday and Thursday, coughing, fever, still had a horrible headache Friday to being able to later sleep through the night within hours of taking ivermectin and being able to breathe on Saturday with minimal cough. Maybe the vaccine kicked in. Maybe the ivermectin killed the virus. Maybe both. He seemed well on his way to being hospitalized. (I have even less faith in rural hospitals than I do in my ability to handle venomous serpents because God* will protect me.) Do not take ivermectin without research about your medical condition and interactions with ivermectin.

I will say that the doctor did call in three prescriptions to the nearest pharmacy, CVS, and three days later they had STILL not been filled. He got a call that they were ready for pickup today (four days later) but the hospice people will be gone by the time the pharmacy opens and he will not be able to pick them up today. (Based on what I know other people have received from called-in prescriptions, it was probably something like a Z-pack, steroid inhaler, and cough meds which would also have been helpful had he been able to get them on Wednesday.)

*I could just see me standing in the complaint line in the great beyond saying "Excuse me, Sir, WHY didn't He protect me from the serpents in the snake-handling church when I had faith in Him? This is ALL HIS FAULT. I demand an apology and a bigger mansion. I demand an attorney NOW."

"Crikey, Karen, He gave you the good sense not to pick up snakes when you couldn't handle 'em. They were real beauts, too, and the gravid female was injured when you dropped her and later died. I'll be releasing her into your garden later today to lay her eggs. If you want an attorney, you're going to have to take the elevator DOWN because we don't have attorneys here."

"Steve Irwin? I demand another clerk! Hey, you over there! Where's the nearest Walmart? I need a shovel because I understand my garden is about to have a snake infestation." "Here, you can't harm my beautiful snakes!" "Relax, Steve, do I look like I would hold a grudge? The shovel is for planting flowers, yeah, that's it, planting flowers."

Well, I no longer use that name. And as far as I can recall, neither do any of the Nutties.

But she probably still gets called that for the same reason Catherine is still called Kate Middleton. To diminish her a little. (How Sophie has avoided the same fate, I'm not quite sure!)

And it seems to be just the English-speaking press that does this. I know that the wife of Crown Prince Frederick of Denmark is Crown Princess Mary . . . but I struggle to recall her maiden name. Ditto for Crown Prince Carl Philip of Sweden's wife, Princess Sofia. It's true even for the male married-ins, like Prince Daniel of Sweden (though I admit I needed to look up the name of his duchy).

Nah. I've administered it to cattle, horses, sheep, and dogs for a very long time. Often got a faceful (or mouthful) myself when a cantankerous bovine tossed its head (it is rather bitter) and the dosing gun got me instead. The only reaction I've ever gotten from an egregious overdose (for, say, an 800 lb. bovine) was a case of diarrhea. Livestock producers have been using it on ourselves and our kids for head lice for years.

Thanks for reminding me about the quinine in tonic water. I completely forgot about that!

The two paps of the Paparazzi Podcast said that the "problem" with Mr. and Mrs. H is that they're really boring. Series: The Prince, HBO

"There are some clever lines here. Harry: “‘Suits’ is more popular in the States than even ‘Friends,’ you told us.” Megan: “I oversold that one a little bit at the time.” Most of the topical references are, well, topical — “Demi Lovato is non-binary. Good for Them,” Prince George says while glued to his cellphone and shouts out “Free Britney!” But Queen Elizabeth calling someone “a tosser” just doesn’t hit the mark; it all feels a bit forced in that trying-to-be-outrageous sort of way.

Maybe it’s just too difficult to parody a family that’s already a caricature of itself. Sometimes truth is weirder than animated fiction".

Prince Harry should settle bird-shooting mystery in memoirs, say campaigners.

Part of the text.

Wildlife campaigners hope Harry will shed light on the killing of two of Britain’s rarest birds over Sandringham in 2007.

Wildlife campaigners have called on Prince Harry to use his forthcoming memoirs to help solve a 14-year mystery about the killing of two of Britain’s rarest birds over one of the Queen’s estates.

In October 2007, just a few weeks after his 23rd birthday, Harry was questioned by the police after two hen harriers, a legally protected species, were seen being shot over Sandringham in Norfolk.
The prince had been out shooting on the estate on the evening of 24 October, with family friend William van Cutsem, then 28, when the incident occurred. At the time the Queen was a patron of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. Witnesses said they saw two hen harriers in flight being shot, an offence under wildlife protection legislation which carries a prison sentence of up to six months or a fine.
Harry, Van Cutsem, and a Sandringham gamekeeper denied shooting the birds. And as no bodies of the birds were recovered from the scene no charges were brought. At the time Clarence house said Harry had no knowledge of the incident. After 14 years no one has ever been prosecuted for the alleged shooting

I thought that she would have had *more* privacy in the UK, not less! I was quietly in solidarity with the people speculating that the lack of drama in California may indicate that she had gotten some bad surgical results so needed to have it revised. Maybe she thinks that the plastic surgeons to Hollywood are superior to those anywhere else? (Some of those actors and actresses look like caricatures of themselves, though.)

Off Topic: @xxxxx, Eastern Virginia Medical School as well as MedCram lays out the protocol for using ivermectin (I used the EVMS protocol with some of the MedCram thrown in for good measure). While there are docs that prescribe it, just getting in to see the doc in a timely manner is next to impossible.

This is an interesting snippet from the Tom Bower article in The Sun:

"Then, on a June night in London’s Soho, the reward of a skilful plot by Meghan and three close friends changed her life. In a well-prepared “blind date”, she met the world’s most eligible bachelor."

Later she claimed in an article that they met in Toronto in May when Harry was there for the Invictus Games, and then got the magazine to change the article by changing the date to July I think, and the meeting place to London.

Whatever the actual truth is, I wonder if Harry still believes it was a blind date and if he knows that she colluded with friends to meet him and then love bomb him?

Off Topic @Natalier, so sorry about your fear for your sister. So many people think that you can just walk into a doctor's office no matter your location and get care and/or medicine, but that isn't even true in the US. Many countries will prescribe it (or it is available over the counter) and it costs *very* little per pill; certainly less than our livestock meds.

I urge that you and your sister review any prior medical conditions that she may have and then check conditions that are known to be aggravated by ivermectin. For example, we widely regard aspirin as being very safe but not for those under 12, those who have a history of ulcers, those who are on blood thinners, or those who have had a past allergic reaction to aspirin. (Aspirin is regarded as a wonder drug, as is ivermectin.)

I use the Ivomec brand 1% injectable ivermectin (labeled for livestock use only, of course) and take it by mouth but other labs make it, too. The human and cattle dose are pretty close. The cattle dose is 1 mL (or cc) per 110 lbs. body weight.

I found this one at Jeffers for about half the price I paid at the local feed store, but I was able to pick up the vial at the feed store immediately and carry it to the husband with no shipping delays:

https://www.jefferspet.com/products/injectable-ivermectin-for-cattle-and-swine

I am not endorsing Jeffers. I just wanted to show you what it looks like. I have used Jeffers in the past when we had hogs and cattle as well as horses, but not recently.

Off Topic Current Affairs Warning:

For those interested, the first of South African troops have landed in Mozambique, by sea.

An IS group has pretty much taken over northern Mozambique, including major international oil/gas refineries. Rightly so, the international community are not going to get involved in a war in Africa (although I suspect that America in particular will find indirect ways to assist ... something like the recent donation of 5 million vaccines springs to mind as an example). Since South Africa has the largest and most well resourced armed resources in the region, it is taking the lead, although it is a regional problem and technically other Southern African countries are part of the effort.

South Africa's economy is struggling after a decade of looting under Zuma rule, the coronavirus lockdowns, and a recent destructive insurrection in Gauteng and Kwa-Zulu Natal.

Wish us luck! Mozambique is a beautiful country with beautiful people and a war-ravaged past. The people and the country are worth saving.

What's more disturbing, I know because I have watched the entire series, is the portrayal of the late Duke of Edinburgh. He at one point does and the servants drag him through Buckingham Palace and sit him at the table as if none of the other royals would notice he died. They continue to hold his jaw and chew food his food for him as drool and food spill out on the plate below. It's a horribly disrespectful scene. The Duke just passed away 2 months ago I believe. It's the WORST part about the series. I doubt HBO will continue this because of the backlash. Keep up the criticisms and show Gary Janetti his series is the worst thing to come on TV in decades.

How vile is that?

There is no indication that Diana could not easily engage in conversation with a wide range of people in a wide range of settings. She labelled herself as thick as two planks, but she was certainly equally comfortable engaging in conversation at state banquets and a homeless shelter. She also loved classical music and hymns, played the piano, loved ballet and dance, certainly attended a lot of upper class sport events, had a genuine sense of humour...

But, if grabbing every opportunity to sprout off a load of word salad to an audience and dominate conversation, as Meghan does, is the benchmark to being labelled smart, then Diana was indeed as thick as two planks!

Much of what is stated about Diana is myth derived from speculation, gossip, hype and stories planted by the Charles camp in the War of the Wales. Some has come from reputable staff, close friends and William himself.

It is normal to try to explore and understand the complex nature of a charismatic woman.

PS Although I have come across a very few who enjoyed The Prince and found it funny, for most it fails as satire and is neither funny nor says anything meaningful about human nature or society. It seems to have fallen flat with most Americans so it is not only very bad taste but most do not find it entertaining. Who the heck is in charge of content at Netflix? Perhaps that person needs to be fired?

'God Bless Africa' indeed, in desperate times.

I'll never forget the first time I ever heard the SA anthem. It was in London, still in the days of apartheid. I was going up the stairs to the lab, ready to teach the first lesson of the afternoon, and one of the VIth formers in the lab, from Cape Town, began to sing. Other lads joined in - such beautiful harmony. I was spellbound and waited on the stairs to listen.

When they finished, I went in and asked what they were singing and they chorused "Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika"

Unforgettable. Deeply moving. My prayers are with you and your nation's forces.

You can be sure Meghan would have ditched any private party if she got the platinum invitation of Obama's 60th on Martha's Vineyard. And you can be sure if she were invited she would have made sure it was leaked to us by now. Her exclusion is ultimate slap in the face to her raging ego and I'm so here for it.

Malaysia Ivermectin

What I found is that hydroxychloroquine is very common in Malaysia while Ivermectin is not. You should have yr sister get on a preventive hydroxychloroquine protocol. Today the consensus is that Ivermectin is superior, but you/sister must work with what is available. Ivermectin is probably 20-25% superior to hydroxychloroquine. SO WHAT! Use hydroxychloroquine because it is what is there in Malaysia.

o/t covid

Just remember that if you take hydroxychloroquine against covid, you have to take it at the very first symptom and you have to take it with zinc. It's actually the zinc that does all the heavy lifting against the virus, not the hydroxychloroquine. The hydroxy opens the cell for the zinc to enter, and it's the zinc that stops the mRNA of the virus from being reproduced.

And, the most important thing - whatever you take against covid, be it hydroxychloroquine or ivermectin, do it at the very first symptom for it to be the most effective.

And, zinc and vitamin D every day no matter if you are sick or not.

Reese Wetherspoon has just sold her media company for $900 million to a company called Blackstone. She just started the company in 2016. I bet TBW will be trying to emulate her success. Reese's company produced media hits such as "Big Little Lies" amongst other stuff.

@snarkyatherbest:
The operative sentence here is “Reese’s company produced media hits such as "Big Little Lies" amongst other stuff.” Witherspoon has more talent in her boogers than H&M could ever hope to summon no matter how many minions they hire to do the actual work so they can seiop in and claim the credit, any accolades they manage to campaign for, and last, but not least, the money.

I respect Reese Witherspoon for not providing fuel to Meghan’s narcissism by attending their wedding, which was nothing more than a staged networking event so Meghan ( “Because I invited you to my royal wedding and you were dumb enough to show up, you now owe me.”) could continue her pattern of purely transactional relationships to advance her personal agenda.

Witherspoon, who said she was surprised to receive a wedding invitation because she “didn’t know them,” was classy and didn’t become an extra on the set of Meghan’s extravaganza.

Harry and Meghan don’t have even a shadow of an original thought in their brains, which is why they will produce content based on themselves, do documentaries, and appropriate stories submitted by unwitting members of the public who are likely unaware that they are signing away ALL rights to their story and much more that’s in the fine print when they click the “Submit” button on the Sussexes’s website.

H.G.Tudor read the entire agreement in one of his recent A Less Than Royal Narcissist analyses on his YouTube channel. That agreement, which many people won’t realize they are agreeing to, was incredibly iron-clad in the favor of Harry and Meghan. The submitter won’t get a penny.

I'm not @GWAH nor am I going to act like I'm a COVID expert. But I do know Vit D should be taken with food in order to be effectively absorbed because it is a fat soluble vitamin. I've always taken the gel caps. Never had a stomach issue with 5,000 units a day or with 50,000 every 2 weeks.

Zinc- I've taken that for other reasons besides COVID. You MUST take it with food or be prepared to wish for death. Zinc on an empty stomach is really really bad.

Strangely enough I had a health professional tell me that most senior adult women don't get enough Vit. D so she advised 10.000 units a day and stupidly I did it for several years off and on (despite knowing it is a fat soluble vitamin and I should be careful). I ended up going to a nutrisionist in the Endoncrinology Dept who tested my blood for Vit. D and it was sky high and at such a dangerous level such that I could have hurt my kidneys. More a lesson that less is not better and to check with several reliable sources for health info.

The saddest part is that Obama and Harry's wife share a birthday! (And by "saddest," I mean "most hilarious.")

I can just see her swanning in while Harry is still getting out of the car and informing absolutely everyone she gets to speak to (plus some more within earshot) that it is her best birthday ever. Certainly much better than any birthday Harry ever planned for her. And when the time comes to sing and to cut the cake, Michelle is going to have to pull a Princess Anne to make sure Mrs. H isn't the one standing next to her husband with the adoring eyes she used to reserve for Harry (and occasionally Prince William). But the real Michelle is much smarter than the one in my scenario; she made sure the Harkles wouldn't be there at all. A beautiful preemptive strike.

Plus, their birthdays being on the same day means that Oprah, the Clooneys and other big-name guests whom Mrs. H might have invited to her own 65-person extravaganza will be choosing to go to other party instead. (Wow, it's just like high school!)

Of all the articles, I find the Page Six one most interesting, because it seems to be hearing directly from the Harkles:

"husband Prince Harry may still whisk her off on an intimate getaway, sources tell"

"Although it’s not yet known what exact plans Harry has for his wife, those who know them said there are plenty of spots near their $14.5 million home in Montecito where he can take his young family away."

Translation: Paparazzi, please be on high alert!

"While it was rumored that Markle is having a grand bash with Oprah Winfrey’s A-list party planner Colin Cowie at the helm, this is absolutely not happening."

I feel that this is another disgruntled intern writing. Maybe even the one who wrote the first article about "sources" saying that Colin Cowie would "absolutely" be planning Mrs. H's party.

Seen in The Daily Star:

Prince Harry's brutal swipe at Meghan for 'wanting to be a princess' in HBO show

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been savagely mocked in the new HBO cartoon from the creators of Family Guy, with Harry brutally ripping apart Meghan's hopes of being a princess in the episode
. . .

In the third episode, Harry and his beau Meghan (played by Condola Rashad) can be seen rehearsing lines and talking about jobs - with Meghan complaining about her acting career following her fame on legal drama, Suits.

A frustrated Meghan huffs before she says: "This sucks. On Suits I was a series regular. Attorney at law!" before Harry corrects here, saying: "Wasn't she a paralegal the first six seasons?"

Meghan then replies: "I don't know," before the conversation turns to their childhood dreams, with Harry admitting he wanted to be a massage therapist.

When Meghan questions her husband's surprising dream, Harry says: "You never had a dream when you were a child to be something everything else said was impossible, like an astronaut or prime minister, or masseur?"

Meghan then answers dreamily: "Ah... I wanted to be a princess."

But Harry then tells her: "Oh, well you kind of f*cked that up,", leaving his wife Meghan fuming.

This bit should be worth watching 🤣

Who needs Tom Bower's book when folk on social media can follow the clues and join the dots ...

I got this from LSA:

In the original version of the story, the paragraph says:

But her pal Marcus Barwell, Soho House’s director of development, persuaded her to add some sparkle to his party. Who would have guessed that a few months later he would be setting her up with Harry, 32, at the Toronto branch of the chain of clubs.

This is the first I've heard of this guy. So is this in fact the person that set them up?
Marcus Barwell

eta: both versions of the article say:
"Only a year before becoming one of the most famous women in the world as Prince Harry’s girlfriend, Meghan, 35, was drafted in to walk the red carpet at Soho House Istanbul’s opening party".

Soho House in Istanbul opened end of April 2015, so that means they did indeed meet in early May 2016 (in case anyone still had doubts).

https://www.lipstickalley.com/threads/meghan-markle-unpopular-opinions-thread-pt-2.2215591/post-73564412

My speculation:

It was not one person who set up the blind date. Marcus Anderson and Jessica Mulroney were probably part of the set up, and Meghan.

There was an overlap with Cory, hence she changed the date, and thus the location, in the article. Harry was fully complicit in that.

Why do we get so many stories that are obviously not true about Meghan, mostly, and Harry being put out there and then proliferating on the Internet?

Some reports from so-called reputable reporters turn out to be true, like Dan Wootton writing about Megxit. Some are then shown as false, like Richard Eden stating that Harry would be meeting the Queen for lunch, and another about Harry having dinner with Charles (neither event happened).

Are the Harkles the source, either deliberately feeding the news cycle surreptitiously or talking a load of rubbish to someone who then passes it on and it then spreads and evolves before it gets to a reporter?

Is it people other than the Harkles just making stuff up, such as reporters wanting to fill space and earn ad revenue?

Do the Harkles have a mole at the Palace who feeds royal reporters with tidbits about the Sussexes?

@lizzie,

I should have said about vitamin D, that some people cannot tolerate vitamin D supplements unless they are combined with vitamin A. Or, take a vitamin A supplement with your vitamin D. Some supplements combine the two but they are rather rare.

Also, take vitamin E in order to aid in vitamin D absorption.

And, finally, take vitamin K with vitamin D for aiding in calcium absorption. Especially if your doctor is telling you to take calcium supplements as well. Without the vitamin K, the calcium doesn't go where it's supposed to, i.e. the bones, but floats around the system, getting deposited in the arterial walls, stiffening them, and raising your blood pressure. Actually, it is best to get your calcium from food rather than from a supplement. Google "high calcium foods" to find which are best.

You can also get vitamin D from sunshine, if you live in an area where there is enough sunshine. Exposing 20% of your body for 20 minutes in North America during early August, for example, can give you thousands of IU's of vitamin D.

As for zinc, there are some forms which are more absorbed than others. I take zinc orotate, which is easily absorbable, but others take zinc picolinate which is supposed to be good as well, but should be taken with food, otherwise it will give you diarrhea. I heard that Swanson Vitamins in the USA have good quality vitamins at very good prices.

Why lots of stories?

Probably lots of reasons from the trial balloon hoping someone takes the hint, there could always be a mole (in either camp) and the idea of just sending out something called information that people "need to know" as it is important people "know". This would allow people to later say it was incorrect or maybe it had been accurate but then because it was released by the other side, it is now called off. We don't know.

One of the words I'm hearing a lot in my other life is "jewel box". So I think of the idea of their party being described as jewel box because it is small, intimate (60+ really?) and would be the image they want to project they are: glittery, sensitive to the changing covid protocols and very very special (unlike someone else's party). I could and often am wrong though.

I think you're right to suspect that "jewel box" is a planted phrase. It certainly makes their party (and their ever-shrinking circle of contacts) look exclusive rather than abandoned. And it makes it seem as if people want to be invited into the glittery circle -- totally masking the reality that numerous people were already ghosted or made the choice to cut contact.

A few years ago, I learned that pinning a memorable image to your ideas helps to anchor them in people's minds. (Look at how much mileage "roast chicken," "chicken tacos," "crocodile" and "waffle maker" got and are still getting -- though not for the reasons the Harkles might like.) They're now getting more out of "jewel box" now than they got out of all the name dropping they've been doing for months. It will be interesting to see how their PR will work over the next few weeks to reinforce the sense of glitter and gold that "jewel box" is planting in public consciousness.

And I propose that even if he weren't very active in any field, but living as a decent private citizen, he would have scored an invitation.

But I still think the real reason he's not getting invited anywhere is that nobody wants to deal with his wife. There have been several instances in my life when I saw how a man's choice of spouse could make or break him. In this case, she's breaking him.

They seem to always be talking about their kids, parenthood and yet, they never seem to have the kids
