Is That New?

The Valentine Low book will be out in a day or two.  The USA release is late January so it will miss the December holiday rush.  Too bad.

We have already had a few excerpts from it.  Goodness knows what else is there lurking in the pages waiting to confirm the suspecting mind or shock the unprepared mind who hasn't been following this saga.

While we wait, it got me thinking about all the things which we weren't seeing a couple of years ago about the 5's but now are.

This and the Tom Bower books - nope.  They are dense, detailed and full of unflattering information about the couple.  The early yet critical books really stop short of spilling anything really specific like these do.

Before the Queen's death, people started showing up to events, holding signs and booing the couple.  And, it was the news about that event most of the time.

Or that someone declined to have their hand shaken by her.  Wow.  That's a quantum shift from the picture perfect hug and compliments.  The criticism tide is rising.

Even in the DM, there are stories about how unhappy 5 looks and specifically citing a comparison to Edward VIII.  Yes, the comparison of the two has been around but now they are talking about how sad they both look/looked.  Or the comparisons of her and Wallis.  They just seem more pointed now.

The recent pictures?  The criticism stops short of calling them propaganda but does mention that the look is quite regal and works in that there is the appearance of trying to set up a rival court.  That's a new comment.

I don't know where or how Valentine is getting his information but it does come off as possible Palace tolerated so far.  That would not have happened in the past.  Perhaps there is truth to the idea of HM was the shield and now that's gone.  I don't know but that is worth a thought.  The book was in motion before she passed (which probably could not have predicted to come out so closely spaced) but maybe it was a signal of the coming change?

We may still be looking for a big Kraken release but this is still change in that we wouldn't have seen any of this that long ago.  Besides, small leaks still create damage. It just takes time.  And the crown always plays the long game.

As Joe Kenda would say (as he looks you in the eye and smiles his bemused half smile, shaking his head): "My, my, my."

Regarding Harry supposedly trying to make changes to his upcoming autobiography, a poster on subreddit SaintMeghanMarkle makes interesting supposition that H isn't really trying to make any changes at all.

The two posters cut-and-pasted below could have a valid point: claiming the intent to revise the manuscript may be both a conciliatory gesture and an implicit threat, and a wily way to maybe score those all-important titles.

I don't believe he's changing the content at all - he probably knows his complaints are very petty so his best bet is to convince Sugars that he was pressured by the Tyrant King to suppress his Truth.

It might also be a way to negotiate with KC by assuring him that he's not saying what he COULD say, so can they have those titles please?

Ooh, good point about the negotiating. I hadn't thought of that at all. I like the idea. It's both a conciliatory gesture and an implicit threat.

Continuing the discussion on Highgrove from the previous thread

@Raspberry Ruffle--I too thought Highgrove had been purchased by Charles as his personal home, but apparently the Duchy of Cornwall bought it. He found the property and has been a dedicated steward of it, but it's technically William's now. It sounds as if Charles intends to keep living there but the business affairs of the farm will pass to the new POW. Hopefully most of the current Highgrove staff can remain in their posts. I'm still bothered on behalf of the Clarence House staff that are getting the sack, even though--irony of ironies, the royal couple is still living at CH due to the BP renovations.

Highgrove is a thriving estate with a very nice website . . very active online store with all of its own farm products and a distinguished selection of apparel and accessories with the Prince of Wales imprimateur.

The following is from the website which has a banner that some of the information on the website may be out of date following the death of HMTQ. However, Highgrove continues to be identified as the home of Their Majesties the King and Queen Consort so I assume that bit has been specifically updated to be current.

His Majesty The King Charles III came to Highgrove in 1980 and the house and gardens have since undergone many thoughtful innovations. When His Majesty first arrived, Highgrove possessed little more than a neglected kitchen garden, an overgrown copse, some pastureland and a few hollow oaks.

Today, after the hard work of many people, an interlinked series of gardens now unfolds in a succession of personal and inspiring tableaux, each reflecting HM The King's interests and enthusiasms. Highgrove now welcomes up to 40,000 visitors a year.

Above all, Highgrove is the family home of Their Majesties The King Charles III and The Queen Consort.
re Highgrove - has confusion arisen on account of the other way of buying a property in England & Wales - that of Leasehold as opposed to Freehold?

One can buy a Lease, the right to occupy a dwelling or other building for a specified length of time, with some but but not all of the rights & privileges of a Freeholder). As time passes, the value of the leasehold diminishes. I haven't time to try to explain it now as I've only ever been a Freeholder and haven't experience of leasehold properties.

I don't know if there's any equivalent elsewhere. It's a kind of halfway between freehold and renting and allows major property owners to retain control of their buildings and land. I expect it applies to Highgrove.
I left this on the last post…I’ve added to it.

@Golden Retriever,

Yes, and Charles is now leasing Highgrove off his son, because William now holds the title and assets to The Duchy of Cornwall). I think that’s where the confusion about leasing come from. 🤗

Staff losing their jobs.

It’s nothing new, royals change homes as they take up new roles. They can’t take the staff with them, they are essentially surplus to requirements. When you work for the royal household as staff, it’s part of the understanding of service that when your employer dies, you will or could potentially be made redundant.

Yes. The fact that the pink slips arrived for the CH staff on the Monday after HMTQ had just passed on the Thursday prior was felt to be quite particularly cold in the circumstances, but ultimately, the King can't take everyone with him that he had working in the CH offices. Staff were given a 90-day notice as I understand it--apparently the law stipulates that the employer must let severed staff know at the very first opportunity. The VERY first opportunity was immediately upon the passing of HM, I imagine, but in waiting 72 hours, they allowed her body to cool before the new King announced that his current staff would be getting the sack just in time for the holidays. Merry Christmas and God Bless Us, Everyone.

I suppose some courtiers were thinking about retirement anyway and a generous parting package will take the sting out. Others might find new berths in other Royal households.

Given that Charles was Prince of Wales for so long and cultivated so many long-term relationships with staff, plus the fact that he continues to live at Clarence House and will for the foreseeable future . .maybe 1-2 years or longer, I was surprised that staff needed to be culled so relentlessly so very soon. Charles is a man of habits, so I might have expected that more of his late mother's courtiers might be 'retired' instead and that Charles would have imported a lot of his existing team with him into his new role. Based on the tears and hard feelings these e-mails brought about, much of the Clarence House staff had the same expectation. Charles probably knew many of the Queen's staff as well as she did herself seeing as he has spent so much time with her in recent years. Not quite the same as having One's own people around One.

Courtiers 'felt sick' when they had to work with Meghan and Prince Harry who 'carried out loyalty tests' on Palace staff, royal author claims

Here are a few paragraphs:
An excerpt of his book reads: 'He would use this phrase the whole time, 'the palace syndrome', when you won't fight the battles he wants, because you have been institutionalised.

'Giving in to the media was a key symptom of whether you had developed it.

'It was a constant test of loyalty: 'Are you going to protect me? Or have you just become one of them, who won't fight for me?' It was exhausting.'

Mr Low has claimed that matters only got worse once he started dating the Duchess.

He writes in his new book: 'Harry's obsession with the media; his sense of frustration that he wasn't achieving everything that he could; his mistrust of the courtiers in the other households; the constant loyalty tests of his own staff: all of this was there before Meghan arrived on the scene.

'But after she turned up, it would get significantly worse.'
Don't we know it!

I don't know whether the juicier bits have been revealed in various newspapers or whether the best is yet to come.

Regarding the comment of setting up a rival court:
This is something that I thought I read in the T. Bower book (I will need to find my copy). The couple were planning everything in the half in/ half out, and staying HRH/ royal but the Q saw it as a rival court. There is only one court, and everyone serves the Monarch, not themselves. Everything that * was doing, saying went against the service to the Crown.

This is parallel to the Edward VIII dilemma; back in the day, with war looming, this could have toppled G6 and placed E8 on the throne if the war had gone a different way. What is to say that could not happen now?

H walked away - he was not happy, everyone knew it, and * was the catalyst to get him out. H's problem is - he does not know how to earn an income, and he did not like taking a secondary role to 1) his brother and 2) his father's generation.

HMTK's statement appears to be the Kraken - no titles and overseas.
The 6/5s, particularly H, are dealing unhappily with those simple words. Trying to appear royal, trying to appease his family and their masters (spotify, netflix, etc).

This is not going to have a happy ending.

I am mystified by her amateur ad campaign.

Advertising, including in the form of advertorials, are nothing new. What springs to mind is a paint company in my country that will use such advertising in all kinds of 'home and decorating' outlets. The aim is to inform about the season's colour pallette and get people to buy the new paint colours, and generally to drive people to the paint company's products. Sales equal income, which translates into profit.

What is she advertising and selling? Herself? To what end? To get positive exposure and coverage? To feed her ego?

I fail to see how this advertising campaign will pay the bills for them. It is not even focused on a particular political/social campaign with the aim of changing or creating a law or budget.

More thoughts about the Korean Spa experience

When or how old she was is vague (going through puberty).

We do know DOB is 08/04/1981.

The Rodney King riots started April 29, 1992.

On the 30th, it started into the Koreatown area by shooting Edward Song Lee BUT the tinder trigger was in March 1991 when a Korean store owner shot Latasha Harlins (AA) who had thrown a juice container and started walking away after being accused of theft of it. (he was convicted of voluntary manslaughter)

During the riot, the police failed to show up in the Koreatown area to help protect those mom and pop businesses. What was and remained "... Long simmering culture classes between Korean business owners and predominately African-American customers spilled over the acquittals." CNN Not certain how things are today except that the Koreans became a bit more politically active and vocal. And probably more solidarity within.

So, I could believe IF it might have happened, it was sometime before the Latasha incident. After, they might have had a less welcoming experience.

Tonight I watched the new documentary “Prince Andrew: Banished.” One of the journalists interviewed averred that PA suffers from Acquired Situational Narcissism, mainly due to the fact that he was spoiled rotten by the Queen (RIP) and was made to feel he was a king in his own right. He almost makes Harry look like a saint by comparison. I wonder if the Waleses will encourage Louis to pursue a career of his own to ensure that he doesn’t suffer a similar fate to his uncle and great-uncle.

Andrew makes it really hard to defend him for any good traits as his bad traits are so very, very bad . . and so public, too. I did feel a soupcon of sympathy for him that so many people worldwide thought that his past misbehavior meant that he had no right to attend memorial services for his mother. Contrasted to his nephew's behavior at the same events, A. was nearly statesmanlike.

My initial reaction to you saying that A. almost makes JH look like a saint by comparison is . . "But we don't really know how bad H is capable of being. Like A., H is dogged by rumors of animal abuse in ripping up his polo ponies and riding at least one so hard that it later died. A famous anecdote of A.'s childhood is the time that two groomsman tossed His Royal Highness into a pile of horse manure when they caught him whipping the horses' legs with a stick. He was at the time maybe 8 or 9. Torturing animals is sociopathic behavior. So they've got that in common. Sordid sexual proclivities . . much of it illegal. An overweening and inflated sense of their own importance in the scheme of the Firm and the larger world. Apparently Andrew is a legitimate war hero with legitimate skills that warrant being promoted to naval Commander, which is more than we can ever say for Harry.

The Epstein connection with Andrew is troubling and hints at something even worse than Andrew potentially having slept with a 17, nearly 18-year-old young woman at one of Epstein's parties.

I haven't looked for this photo lately but I wouldn't be surprised to find it scrubbed from the Internet. Andrew and Sarah threw Beatrice a lavish 18th birthday party--and there's Jeffrey, leering in the family photo. Bea is dressed like a sacrificial virgin. Shortly after this party, during the subsequent years, Beatrice suffered from some eating disorders. She is doing really well now . . but I couldn't help noticing that when Andrew was comforting Bea at the flower walk at Balmoral . . for the life of me it looked like he groped her backside when he bent down to inspect the floral tributes. I'm hoping it was just the camera angle . that his hand may have brushed her skirt as he was standing up but . . I dunno, it looked very odd to me.

The decades-long shared living arrangements with Sarah despite being officially divorced looks like the devotion of two former spouses who never fell out of love and were forced to divorce by the Queen though neither really wanted to. But what if it's a lot darker than that--what if they have stuck together like glue all these years because of the mutual secrets they keep . . like, for instance, if one or both of them sold access to their daughter, or maybe both daughters, to Epstein? I get a feeling that Beatrice, the more fragile of the two girls and maybe the more compliant one is more likely to have been a victim.

I am just conjecturing without any proof but I think we don't even know the full depths of the depravity of the circles which A. and Harry's wife run in.

Of course it's conjecture either way. But I absolutely do not believe Andrew and/or Sarah sold their daughters to Epstein. And if they did, it certainly wasn't when Bea was an old lady of 18. So the picture of the fancy dress birthday party means nothing IMO.

There are plenty of reasons Bea could have developed an eating disorder (if she really had one.) She's been overweight for much of her adolescence and adulthood and she has her mother's body. And like with her mother, the press likes to point out weight issues-- so she's another princess of pork. That sort of public bullying has somehow been acceptable so far as the Yorks go. We worship slim women these days as if being thin equates to virtue. Frankly, it wouldn't surprise me if Bea has an eating disorder NOW. I know the popular opinion is that she's blissfully happy in her marriage so the weight just fell off and Edo is so good for her and is such a great guy. I hope that's true but I'm not so sure.

I also did not see any "groping" by Andrew of his daughters when inspecting the floral tributes. All I saw were hugs.

Maybe I come from a more "wild" locale in the US (I doubt it-- I live in the south) but a 17-year old woman sleeping with an older guy just isn't shocking to me especially in the 90s and early 2000s when PA supposedly slept with Virginia. Remember how many people defended Bill C's White House romps as "private behavior!" And how many women continued to willingly associate with Harvey (women who didn't need him for jobs.) And TV shows like Sex and the City and Will and Grace were popular. (As I recall, the recurring plot in both was having sex and lots of it.) And it certainly wasn't illegal to sleep with a 17-year old in the UK over 20 years ago when PA did it. For me, the thing Andrew did that was most wrong was to continue to associate with Epstein. I honestly don't think it was particularly wrong for him as an unmarried man to sleep with a 17-year old in a country where 16-year olds can consent. And he is a prince! Of course he thought he was God's gift so of course he assumed she was thrilled to do it just as certain American politicians from BOTH sides of the aisle seem to think. Kind of sleazy..sure. But PA is hardly the first man to behave that way.

I must say that when a writer makes claims to know that a phone call was made and what was said in the phone call, I wonder if they are making stuff up. How would they know? Even Valentine Low claims to know that William sent a message to his brother asking if he could come over and talk, which was received quite well by his brother, but his brother than (presumably after talking to the wife) contacted him and asked him who he would tell. When William said he would have to tell his private secretary where he was, his brother then refused to speak to him. How did Low know this? Did someone in William's office tell him?

Of course it muddies the waters when the Harkles themselves, especially TBW, feed information to their preferred outlets. Their support of The Crown, which is fiction parading as fact and is believed to be fact by so many, is rather hypocritical as well.

It is all very messy, but rather than behaving like a fascist, would it not be better to educate readers and teach them to recognise red flags and to question more?

I keep going back to the DM because I like the many photos, but I am often sceptical of what they publish about the Royals unless they specifically quote someone in one of the royal offices (and even then, those courtiers have a way of politely and nicely not being straightforward).

Of course, part of the fun is the whole saga leaves the door wide open for speculation, which is often quite accurate, especially if informed by character and past behaviour!

So this was Eugenie’s skirt that got the treatment. It gives me no pleasure to even put this here but I will let everyone make up their own minds as to whether this is overfamiliarity with a daughter or no.

Thank you for your post. Yes, it is pure conjecture about Andrew, Beatrice and Epstein but like you, I do not believe Andrew would have sold either Beatrice or Eugenie to Epstein. And Sarah has always stayed at Royal Lodge with Andrew, I think she would have noticed something. Anyway, Andrew might be many things but he is not a paedophile and sleeping with a 17 year old girl - seemingly willing and paid for it (and recruiting others) - wasn't perhaps advisable but it was legal. The age of consent is 16 in the UK and 17 in NY, as far as I know.
I couldn't remember Beatrice having an eating disorder but I checked and she started overeating when her parents separated.

I think there can be a danger of trying to analyse situations and coming up with answers that are divorced from reality and I completely agree with your post.

Quotes from a New York Post interview with Tom Bower regarding Twit’s book:

“ I think that everybody knows that the Sussexes can’t amend the book in any way,” he opines. “Can they make it nastier? Because otherwise, we wouldn’t get sales.”

Bower says chatter in London has the book coming out around “Easter and will include in it a chapter on the [Queen’s] funeral.”

“And there’ll just be more material about how they were snubbed and all the rest of the invective against the royal family,” he adds. “So I think to that extent, the delay will add to the poison.”

Well, had second son found somebody like the PoW and somehow convinced the poor unfortunate woman to marry him, he would have been better off. Marrying somebody that has been pretending to be his mother is much more disturbing IMO.

A bombshell new book has claimed that Prince Harry was turning into a 'seedy old roué' before he started dating Meghan Markle.

The Duke of Sussex, 38, was also 'quite a wild lad' and had a reputation as a party prince following a decade in the military, according to new book Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown.

It includes the prince allegedly playing air guitar with naked with a pool cue at the Encore at Wynn Las Vegas hotel in August 2012.

But the book says Harry has now left that life firmly behind and is enjoying life in California with Meghan and their two young children Archie, three, and Lilibet, who was born in June last year.

Written by Valentine Low, it also details how Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton was appointed Harry and brother William's private secretary on a part-time basis before they became full-time working royals, The Mirror reports.

He had to 'steer a course through life' for the young royals, though this was 'more complex' for Harry.

Low says: 'The younger prince was a dashing figure, flying an Apache helicopter, and was heavily committed in the area of children’s health, with charities like Well Child. But he also used to be quite a wild lad.

'When Harry was young, it was easy to forgive him, his transgressions. But at what point does a wild lad become a seedy old roué?

'At the time, it was nothing to worry about: just something to keep an eye on.

'Eventually, of course, the problem would resolve itself, but not in a way that Lowther-Pinkerton or anyone else imagined.

'The wild lad died the day Harry met Meghan Markle.'

Published yesterday, the book's release comes amid allegations that anxious royal staff reported 'feeling sick' before taking part in work with the Sussexes.

Mr Low, a Times royal correspondent, made the claims during an appearance on Good Morning Britain promoting the book.

With re. to ratings:

* Access is easy as the whole world is connected.
* Most people are not 'bright' and are easily and heavily influenced by 'influencers'. Look at who dominates the tabloids: rich, vacuous people like the Kardashians, the Beckham's, etc. But, there are intelligent, sometimes provocative, commentators who are also popular (Joe Rogan, Jordan Pietersen, Lex Friedman, etc.). TBW thinks she is the latter, with a dash of philanthropy and activism, but she actually falls into the former category.
* Being 'entertaining' is of high value (which is why I think they will fail, unless they attack the BRF). 'Spot the lies' has also become a popular game. Both think they are hilarious and highly entertaining when they goof around (such as in the Ellen Show) but they are only funny when we laugh at them, not with them.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are softies for soft rock ... hitting up a Jack Johnson concert!

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex watched Jack do his thing Wednesday night at the Santa Barbara Bowl, an outdoor venue that was packed. They weren't exactly just part of the crowd ... they watched the show from a special section cordoned off from the masses, with 10 other folks.

They cut loose during the show, dancing, swaying to the music and clearly familiar with Jack's hits. It was clearly date night ... Harry and Meghan were standing as he wrapped his arm around her waist. They were also friendly with the small group in their section ... chatting them up.

Meghan and Harry arrived separately ... she got there around 8 PM and Harry pulled up about an hour later.

Of course, their night out comes weeks after Harry and Meghan went to the U.K. to attend all the Queen's funeral events, after she died last month.

William and Catherine are hitting some bumps upon their ascension to the Prince and Princess of Wales title. First Catherine was heckled on walkabout and now the anti-English sentiment among the Welsh people who object strongly to ‘being ruled by a billionaire from England’ is coming to the fore as it did when Charles was invested. Good thing there were no plans for an investiture ceremony in Wales.

Meghan and Harry are desperate to do anything not to be seen as the failures that they are. So, they want us to believe they have $1,000,000 to donate to charity and are so unfazed by the Queen's Drubbing they endured that they're on a veritable date night!

https://www.thesun.co.uk/fabulous/20033166/prince-harry-meghan-markle-dancing-date-night/

Lady C, in her latest tea serving, says that Samantha is seeking to depose Oprah, Thomas senior AND Harry. She seemed to make a really big deal of Harry being deposed. She said Meghan is playing games to try to "disrupt" the deposition process, to date to no avail. No counting worldwide fame before it's won but if the Samantha Markle trial goes forward, it promises to be a real tea fest, dropping lots and lots of receipts. In her prior video, Lady C said that the popularity of the Queen, King Charles, Prince William and Princess Kate "shook them to their core." They actually thought they were the biggest stars and that the Firm needed them. Oh how the deluded have come down from their high! And with every day, a new article, new micro-revelation of abuse, well it's good times to be Team Everyone Else in the British Royal Monarchy.

Catherine was subjected to a rude comment by one woman in Belfast who said “Nice to meet you but it would be better if it was when you were in your own country.

“Ireland belongs to the Irish.”

The woman made her statement politely. Obviously, Catherine never said anything about Ireland and continued her walkabout calmly, shaking hands and smiling. She handled the situation with grace.

From the first time we heard about the delay in publication I thought it has nothing to do with trying to 'tone down' so as not to upset the royals. He is adding content - about the death and funeral of the Queen, as a family member who was there. The Queen's funeral was a huge global event ... of course the publishers want a first-hand account as a key selling point. They may even try to get it published for Christmas.

I may be completely wrong, but it makes more sense than him trying to tone down trashing the royals.

Hello, Nutties, one and all.

I just ran across this excellent point on Twitter, in reference to the never-ending lawsuits against media, including the newest legal action against Associated Newspapers British tabloids by group consisting of Hazbeen, Elton John and David Furnish, Sadie Frost, Liz Hurley & Doreen Lawrence. This tweeter wrote:

"Eliza @home_nextdoor

Question.
If they are attempting to sue newspapers for allegedly obtaining information in an illegal manner, does that mean these newspapers have been telling the truth all along & they're finally admitting it?!
Holycow!"

I think her conclusion is the right one: that the printed information is absolutely true.

I don't condone the tabloids' methods if against the law, but at least in the case of Hazbeen, every single salacious newsworthy thing I have ever read has proven later to be true. Nothing has been proven to be a lie, nor an exxageration. The only liars I can think of and point to have the first initials H & M, or since she insists her name always come first let me rephrase that as M & H.

I forgot to mention in my previous post that some Welsh people are anti English, although not all of them.

'The reaction of the crowds that lined the streets of the Welsh capital was largely warm, but he was booed as he entered Cardiff Castle by anti-monarchy protesters and there were small demonstrations at Llandaff Cathedral and the Senedd building.' (The Guardian). This is not helped by First Minister for Wales, Mark Drakeford, who is anti English: 'First Minister of Wales Mark Drakeford has been banned from one of the nation's best-known attractions because of his 'anti-tourism, anti-English' policies.' He's certainly not popular in England.

I wouldn't read too much into this and I don't think (hope they don't) they'll be 'hitting some bumps upon their ascension to the Prince and Princess of Wales title.' I feel it might be a bit premature to say but time will tell.

Re. the Belfast heckler

As an American, I empathize deeply with the people of Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland who wish to be independently self-ruled. That same deep seated desire fueled our separation from England, though I was very surprised to learn that perhaps only 30% of colonists at the time supported that war. 30% were staunchly loyal to the Crown and the other third were at best neutral toward the action. The majority of the population thought it would be economic suicide and took a “better the devil you know” attitude. And yet the passionate vocal minority carried the day. Perhaps the situation is similar in Wales and other areas of HMTK’s realms. These issues have been burbling away for my entire lifetime and King Charles will continue to preside over a Kingdom divided. I wouldn’t have expected any less than grace from Catherine in that situation; well done to her. She and William will be encountering more interactions like that as they move into their futures. They’ve been largely sheltered from political controversy until this summer’s Caribbean tour, and now that they are a breath away from the throne they will be more in the crosshairs than previously. I’m sure William is acutely aware that the UK he will eventually preside over is going to be much different than the one overseen by his grandmother. Charles has had 50+ years to discover how he will do things as sovereign…preserving a Kingdom for William and George must be foremost in his mind.

What a shame his younger son is colluding with his wife to undermine the reputation of the Crown around the world.

The lady that confronted C. with that remark may have been non-aggressive but I would refrain from calling it polite in the circumstances. A polite person would have chosen a more effective time and place to exercise her views on monarchy. It’s not like Catherine can influence Parliament and she won’t stop visiting Northern Ireland on that citizen’s say so. If her objective was to make Catherine feel uncomfortable, I’m sure that was achieved underneath outward serenity.

The Telegraph link I posted referred to a referendum issue for Welsh independence that overwhelmingly passed in the Welsh government by something like 45 to 6. The Welsh people will make their feelings known when they vote, but it seems the cause is still as active as it was in 1969 when Charles came to Wales.

She was slated to do 10 or 12 of these I thought, and they were all recorded. If they’re done, might as well play them. Spotify won’t lose more money on finished garbage than they have already… Unless they’ve rejected the rest of her pathetic material. If there are any lawsuits for breach of contract, I want the corporate partners suing the Harkles and not the other way around. More than two years since they signed these big splashy deals and they’ve done no work.

How did Narkle ever hold a job on TV for 7 years? I know the shooting schedule for Suits was not year-round but if she had been this lazy back then and didn’t show up to the set prepared to do her scenes, seems like they would’ve written Rachel Zane out after season one or replaced her with any number of hungry biracial actresses who would’ve been grateful and worked hard. Maybe everyone in the Suits head office were guests of Jeffrey too?

Does secondhand Coke or anyone say that Buckingham palace is still saying that the coronation date of June 3 next year is only speculation? I have a British friend who has already made plans to be in London from her home in… Sussex!… On that date next year. I presume that Charles will retain the traditional date for Trooping the Color,

I’ve got zero interest in looking at the Harkles’ latest foray in desperation but what couple arrives for a “special date night” in separate cars an hour apart—when the entire point of the exercise is to look like a United couple in lurve?

The Harkles have done this so often that it bolsters my (other) theory that the couple does not live together. I would go so far as to their eyes that they have never lived together since she arrived in England. We have been meant to think that they have shared a series of homes together…NottCott, the Cotswolds place, FroggyCott, various millionaires’ loaner mansions and most recently Mudslide Manor. Let’s just say that I don’t believe it, any more than I believe they have children. They might have been thrown together at Tyler Perry’s seeing as they were fleeing a global pandemic and Harry was an immigrant without a work visa, but if they have spent any significant time under the same roof that wasn’t a hotel, My moneys on separate wings altogether. I’d be super surprised that they’ve had any connubial relations since the wedding, or in fact since 2016 when he ostensibly broke up with her. He must’ve gotten nasty with her for some of their time together or at least she knows who he’s gotten nasty with.

I think the true level of weirdness, control dysfunction and psychopathy in their relationship we can only guess at, but the more they try to pretend to be wholesome loving family the more false it feels.

RR,

Who is the reader for Valentine’s audiobook? I’m thinking of trying that format instead so I can listen while doing other things. I don’t need another heavy doorstop book since I have so many books already. But the reader makes or breaks an audiobook. I like to listen to people reading their own work if possible, even if they’re not trained voice actors because I feel like they created it, they will be invested in it. The best audiobook experience is when an accomplished actor reads his own memoir, like Cary Elwes did or Kelsey Grammar.

According to SHC's information, the article must be wrong. They may be eliminating some podcasts, but it's not because of MM.

Hikari, TW has already recorded all the podcasts, and they'll be released. But Spotify won't do business with her again. There isn't going to be a second season. Apparently she's just a nightmare to work with.

Lots of people have accused her of being lazy, but I think her control issues are probably to blame. When you have to do things like proofread your husband's daily to-do lists (she reportedly fired one of his secretaries over a single typo) and manage multiple household
employees, as well as dominating and controlling every aspect of your children's care, you really don't have time to do things like networking to get guests on your podcasts or think up better story lines for your personal documentary. I think she probably spends a lot of time every day making sure the house is cleaned correctly, the babies are being fed just so, the rose bushes have been trimmed, the PR company knows exactly how she feels about their last ad campaign, the bitch at the fashion designer's atelier who wasn't deferential enough on the phone gets fired, etc. When you're a control freak, there are a lot of things that need to be controlled and that fills up your days. Not surprising that she doesn't have a lot of time to spend actually working on their Netflix and Spotify projects.

been reading more about valentine low’s book and tom bowers book and how furious william was that Lord Geidt was pushed out of the households. hmmm perhaps they can’t bring him back to deal with the problem child and the wife. he seems like he is a man of steely resolve and andrew can’t circumvent him with the queen. in fact will be interesting what happens to andrew since he has lost his only but most important supporter. he’s gonna have to earn some money too.

there is someone on twitter summarizing her reading Bowers book and is giving quick highlights. like 50 posts so far. @messicondo. definite worth a look if you do t have the book and she makes some snarky comments too which i always appreciate

I wonder if becoming independent of Britain wouldn’t make Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland much more vulnerable to getting sucked in to China’s orbit via the PRP’s Belt and Road initiative. Brazil has essentially surrendered its economy to China, just to cite one example. Beware.

Scotland *could* declare their independence, as could Wales and Northern Ireland, but will their exports sustain their population? They might be worse off than before, but that's none of my business.

@snarkyatherbest, I, too, am reading the same gal's tweets summarizing juicy bits from Tom Bower's book Revenge.

Small correction to her handle, one can find her on Twitter via @messiecondo with an 'e'

Here is a link to her thread discussing Revenge, i've enjoyed most of her points so far.

Her first numbered tweet on the book is shown below, already a good tidbit that apparently Jason Knauf ran interference without the knowledge of Kensington Palace. I hate sneakiness and intrigue. As of tonight Messie Condo ended on point #60. She said she will take up her point-by-points again tomorrow.

Thank you for the link to The Crowns of Britain. I needed a good chuckle, even if it felt a little weird considering it was about the Queen’s funeral. The line below line was my favorite, and is in reference to * insisting on wearing gloves to every Royal event: “It’s as though she thinks it makes her look classier– when she does, in actual fact, look like one of those bird trainers that calls the falcon into land on their hand to impress a crowd or something.”

I won’t be able to see her again without visualizing a falcon sitting on her arm! I’m still laughing.

@GWAH & @Hikari

I've been trying to get my head around Irish political history since my schooldays - the one thing I've learnt is that, whatever one says, one is bound to upset somebody.

There's one book, though, I'd recommend for anyone prepared for a scholarly read:

Fighting like the Devil for the Sake of God: : Protestants, Catholics and the Origins of Violence in Victorian Belfast. by Mark Doyle, pub Manchester University Press (2009).

Overall, it's an extremely complex situation and often it's not what it appears to be on the surface, especially when it comes to the events of the 17th century and how these are remembered.

FWIW, my ancient family connections with Ireland (ie over 17th-19th centuries) are with the `Old English', ie Anglo-Normans who `became more Irish than the Irish themselves', and with a native clan which seems to have absorbed people with English names.

Enough said.

Thanks. I just wanted to correct an impression that Catherine was heckled by the general population. It was just one woman, reportedly. The Northern Ireland question is a thorny and complex one, differently from Wales and Scotland which, in any case, wouldn't be able to subsist on their own. I know many Americans empathise with Northern Ireland. I see your point of view but, not implying this applies to you at all, a rosy view and Noraid haven't helped the situation.

Re the audiobook, I agree 'the reader makes or breaks an audiobook.' Amazon UK has 5 minutes of audio sample. The reader sounds like an older man, I looked it up and it is Valentine Low. Try it for yourself.

The desperation and delusions continue...

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are planning a year-long thaw in relations with the rest of the Royal Family - but not until Harry's contentious memoir is out and the couple's hotly-awaited Netflix series has premiered, it has been claimed.

Their plan to reconcile with their estranged relatives comes within weeks of the Queen's state funeral, which forced Harry and Meghan to make a swift return to the royal fray after playing a minor role in the Jubilee celebrations.

They must be seriously short of money. And what is the 'minor role' they played in the Jubilee celebrations? Their 'star' is on the wane, it seems they've realised they are nobodies outside the RF. Another epic fail.

A person is crowned, not coronated. “Coronate” is improperly derived from “coronation,” but “crown” is the original and still standard form of the verb. But don't be in too big a hurry to declare that there is “no such word”: “coronate” means “crown-shaped,” and has various uses in biology. 31 May 2016

Off topic 😐

The independence of Wales, Scotland or N.Ireland is an extremely complex issue. As an English born person, I have no problem if any of the above wanted to be independent, but all of them are heavily subsidised by England, they may have a government but they have little to no separate infrastructure etc., that you need to create a fully independent (and self financed) country. Scotland has already had an independence referendum and they chose to stay part of the Union (United Kingdom).

The above is viewed as a contentious issue by some of my fellow countrymen and if other national’s wade in it becomes even more so. 😔To put it bluntly it’s the equivalent of outsiders wading in and involving themselves in America’s Politics or gun laws. 🫣😟🫢
@Maneki Neko,

I’m back to listening the book today. I’ll try my best to add anything different or my take so far. 🤗
Royal bedrooms:

In the past, aristocratic & royal couples had separate bedrooms as a matter of course.- after all, they would each have been attended by their ladies and gentlemen, let alone maids and valets. Rather crowded - monarch on a `close stool', surrounded by courtiers & advisors.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lords_and_Gentlemen_of_the_Bedchamber

As for the Gentleman of the Stool...!

ERII & Duke of Edinburgh had their own bedrooms - the record is silent as to the sleeping arrangements of the younger members of the family. It didn't preclude active relationships - what do you suppose connecting doors between bedrooms were for, even if they were used illicitly as well?

A friend who was up at Trinity at the same time as CIII (in the 1960s) told me he was party to an end-of-term conversation in which undergraduates were talking about going home for the vac. Someone asked C if he had done his packing yet -

`Oh, I have someone to do that for me.'

There was no possible polite answer to that, I imagine.

Presumably less wealthy folk had to share rooms because they couldn't afford big houses.
PS Today, we call a `close stool' the euphemistic `commode', which strictly speaking is a 18thC chest of drawers. Isn't language strange?

@Wild Boar

I remember it being prominently mentioned during the Australia tour that not only were the Royal couple screaming the rafters down about her newly announced fauxnancy, but that they were in separate bedrooms. That part didn’t surprise me as I knew that was aristocratic custom, and in the context of separate engagements on tour, etc. plus his n hers entourages, each having their own space to dress, etc makes sense. At the time I thought Harry was in the dark about ‘the baby’ so how convenient for her, eh?

Separate rooms aren’t American custom usually and seeing as your Sharkles consistently present themselves as the most loved up couple in the world, one would think that insisting on the same bed chamber would be one way that Rachel would modernize the monarchy to what she thinks is better. When Americans hear that a couple is sleeping in separate rooms, the initial conclusion is that there must be trouble in paradise. With the size of king sized beds these days, only slightly smaller than half a football field, you don’t have to even touch the person you’re sharing a bed with and can probably fit in at least two or three more people… Handy for ménages.

Interesting video about Trevor: he has been involved in helping kids at a school learn about the movie industry, for 12 years, and got an award.

Imagine that--he earned an award through actual charity work, not because he purchased it, and he's never trumpeted to the papers that he's an 'award winner', not even once!

So I guess now Trevor is coming out with a book, too. I forget what my source was there but one wonders if he's going to wade in on 'My Life with My Ex', despite having refrained from saying a peep so far. I can't imagine he got a book deal only to talk about his career in the movie industry and charitable endeavors without talking about what brought him to our notice in the first place . . apart from Thomas Markle, perhaps the most maligned and abused member of the (Before she was ) Sussex Survivors' Club.

Trev had better be careful . . his new wife is an heiress or something, isn't she? Lots of money there. Grasping Twunt will have her eye on a slice of that pie and would bring a defamation lawsuit just to get her hands on some of that money and ruin her ex's present happiness just as much as she can.

I think I speak for everyone here when I wish Trev nothing but the best. Maybe one day he will stand at the Oscar podium accepting an award for producing and I hope he thanks his ex-wife. "In closing, I have to credit my ex-wife in part for being able to stand here today. Having her in my life for so many years taught me a resilience and inner strength that have been essential to surviving in this business. I didn't even know I had it in me to do this. It's a long-cherished dream of mine to be up here, and Meg gave me the gift of freedom to discover how much I truly could achieve with the right people around me. (At this point, he can effusively thank his second wife and the the mother of his children. Blowing a kiss to her would be good.)

@Maneki Neko: I agree with you about the Sussexes probably having money problems. The overhead to run just their property in Montecito has to be massive. Then if you add nannies, security the costs for lawyers, the staff for Archewell and their other endeavors is likely also expensive. Then personal expenses for upkeep of Meghan is likely very high.

I’m sure one of the reasons to create Archewell was to be able to write off travel, clothes etc fir tax purposes.

But because they only have drama, toxicity, and woe-are-we victimhood they do not have much to peddle to the public. The royal connection is also irreparably damaged, which reflects so badly on their “brand.”

When they left the royal family in 2020, I thought to myself, “They will run through the Netflix, Spotify, and book money in a relatively short time of 5 to 7 years.”

At this point, I think they are well on their way to digging themselves into a financial ditch deeper than the Grand Canyon.

They are basically a one-trick pony act and have nothing to follow up with other than what the world has seen since they married. I think corporate and public interest is already waning at a rapid rate, and with economic woes and an ongoing war in Ukraine, the public will have no patience for a toxic pair of petulant, entitled whiners.

When Meghan divided and isolated Harry from his family, she likely thought they would never need them again. But narcissists are often short-sighted. The royal family plays the long game quite well, and Harry and his first wife (HFW) will cone out on the losing end.

To put it succinctly, I like this comment in the DM article about their efforts to mend the damage:

'Harry & Meghan in desperate bid to make amends with Royal Family as they plan to tone down memoir & Netflix series'

My thoughts (just my thoughts)

a) Harry's book was already in trouble with its release date, even before the Queen's death. So it might be the Sussex PR to claim the queen's death as the cause of the delay now.

Prince Harry's Reported Memoir Delay May Be Related to the Inclusion of Royal Family 'Truth Bombs' *August 26, 2022*

https://s.yimg.com/os/fontserver/YahooSans/Bold.woff2

Perhaps, now H fears that after the book's release, he will have to face BP's lawyers. I think KCIII will refute the charges.
...
b) MM podcast
They are produced by Archewell Audio, founded by H&M, together with Gimlet Media. I think all that big billboard promotion in NY came out of Archewell and not Spotify.
"The former “royal highnesses” founded Archewell Audio in December 2020 and teased the production shortly thereafter"
https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/story/2022-03-24/duchess-meghan-prince-harry-spotify-podcast-archetypes-archewell-audio
So I ask if the big sum they (supposedly) received from Spotify was for Archewell Audio to produce the podcasts. Because Spotify makes money from the ads made on them.
"Description

Spotify, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, is one of the world's largest music streaming service providers, with over 150 million total listeners. The firm monetizes its users through both a paid subscription model, referred to as its premium service, and an ad-based model, referred to as its ad-supported service. Revenue from premium and ad-supported services represented 90% and 10% of Spotify's 2017 total revenue, respectively"

https://pitchbook.com/profiles/company/40997-08

And I think part of the profits would go to Archewell Audio. Therefore, MM's desperation to turn PR for his podcast.
...
c) Netflix; previously a documentary series with Invictus Games and pearl. Pearl was cancelled. Now, no more Invictus but a documentary about the great love of the two? It seems that Archewell Productions presents a project to Netflix and when Netflix it declines, they move on to another project.
...
"PRINCE Harry and Meghan have secretly planned a year of reconciliation with the Royal Family but only after their controversial memoir and Netflix series'

If hat PR spin is coming out of Camp Sussex. (Somewhere this is coming out or either the Sussex camp or the journalists with their subjective truths) I think Netflix and Spotify sank before they took off and H&M are planning to say in the future that such changes have come about as a result of their attempts at reconciliation with the RF. And so omit one's own failure and still blame the insensitive RF.

@Martha,

There is no “love” between them…albeit that he thought there was. She is so despicable that perhaps he now realizes this.

Despite the incredible awkward fakeness of the engagement interview, where it was obvious that the couple couldn't even get their stories straight about exactly when and where they met, and rumors of H screaming at the Queen's dresser and using fruity language, and a face on his wedding day poised between terror and an urge to vomit, for a while, at least a couple of years, I was trying to give H the benefit of the doubt that he was, in the immortal words of his father, too ****struck to see straight where M was concerned. People around H spoke of him being 'beguiled' by her . . then these morphed into worrying that this 'empath' was trapped in a Stockholm Syndrome situation with his abusive Svengali of a narcissist. All forms of love after a fashion, even if it is dysfunctional, toxic, immature and all the rest. For a while, a lot of people felt sorry for H . . felt he'd had fallen in love with this woman with the most sincere of intentions and got played big time.

I abandoned pity for Harry after the Deal debacle--that was the turning point for me. Anyone who would abandon his responsibility as Commander General Royal Marines, an honor bestowed by the Queen and H's ostensibly beloved grandfather, to represent her Majesty at a memorial to fallen warriors in favor of prancing on a urine-colored carpet sucking up to Beyonce and browbeating a Disney exec into hiring his talentless wife was not a man acting out of love. That was the baldest and most disgusting display of avaricious self-interest that they had displayed to date. They were already pursuing their 'brand' deals half a year before Megxit.

No one who starts out good and sincere can curdle into badness so swiftly as did Harry. His wife doesn't make him what he is; she just gave him permission to show his real hatred toward his family and she feeds that rage because it benefits her.

Hikari said…
My thoughts now about the Sussex arrangement are that H was likely coerced into going through with this 'contract showmance marriage' via blackmail that Markus & Co. have . . which they had to employ after H got cold feet and broke things off with M about six months in. Maybe they'd talked about having an 'arrangement' but he hadn't committed to it. Having hooked a whale, in gambling parlance (also hooker parlance) Mugsy and Co. weren't about to let him get away. He looked like a browbeaten and defeated man on his wedding day, I thought, not a groom anticipating married life full of happy nerves.

I suppose that H has sexual appetites and other habits which make a 'normal' marriage to a quality woman not something he is able to make happen. I suspect that he prefers the intimate company of men and/or kinky stuff decidedly out of the mainstream that he could not get with a traditional marriage to a more traditional woman. Having obtained evidence of these potentially embarrassing/illegal proclivities, the Soho cohort proposed the type of faux relationship with M that is extremely common in Hollywood circles and not altogether unheard of in aristocratic circles either. According to rumor, former Narkle pal Misha Nonoo's current husband Mikey Hess is as queer as a three-bob note and this is an open secret. I think M proposed a similar arrangement to H: We get married. You get everyone off your case about 'settling down'. You get the big church wedding just like William had. Granny will not give you a Dukedom until you marry, so bada bing bada boom . .we get the wedding, the carriages, the party, the boodle, the titles. We'll get a bigger house than the bachelor cottage they've stuck you in. We're going to be the biggest stars in the Family! We are much more sexy and dynamic than boring stodgy old William and Kate. Your grandmother will give you a castle. After all, you're her favorite grandchild! After a while we will have 'some kids'--don't worry about how; I'll take care of it. You won't have to worry about anything. We will play our parts of the happy couple in public . .in private I don't care what you do. You do as you like and I will do as I like, but the story we're selling is that ours is a fairytale romance, got it? Even better--we are going to modernize this archaic institution. We'll be huge stars in Hollywood too and I'm sure we can convince your gran to let us live in the States and just come back for the parades and the balcony and stuff. It'll be great!

In short, a mercenary and soulless arrangement from the very beginning, with no love on either side, just mutual needs/benefits, with the added bonus of screwing over his family. Even though I feel like he was forced into this arrangement on some level, in the beginning I'm sure that he thought he could live with it, focusing on the perks rather than the downsides. He may not have realized what a full-blown controlling psycho she is and envisioned a more carefree existence of pursuing his hobbies and doing what he liked, apart from the scheduled 'appearances' as man and wife. The fact that it's now in print that H avoids 'spending any time with 'the children' speaks volumes about what the true status of their family life is likely to be.

Well, it's all gone t*ts up with their schemes. It's what they deserve.
Indeed, Sandie!

`Coronate' = having the form of a crown, as in the `trumpet' of a narcissus flower, just as leaves can be `hastate'- in the form of a spear, or `sagittate' - like an arrow.

I should have my wrist slapped for forgetting that!
@Hikari,

`Accession' is the process of becoming monarch by the demise of the previous monarch.

As Merriam Webster puts it:`: the act or process by which someone rises to a position of honor or power

the accession of a new queen
a politician's accession to power
`Queen Victoria's accession to the throne/crown occurred in 1837'.

There's another meaning, familiar to library folk: the process of adding a book to the stock - hence `accession number'!

BTW `Ascension' ie into Heaven occurred between the Resurrection and Pentecost. As far as I'm aware, no monarch has been taken up into heaven although Charles I had Rubens paint it happening to his dad, James I & VI, as seen on the ceiling of the Banqueting House in Whitehall. Even then, the classical pagan term `apotheosis' was used, ie like a Roman emperor being elevated to divine status upon death.

As far as the crowning of a monarch is concerned, I think the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle got it right. I'd have to look it up in the original language but the form of the record was `Here (ie this year) X was hallowed to kingship'.

That is, the essence of the coronation service was the consecration of the monarch, before the crown is placed on the head. This is most sacred part, the anointing with holy oil, IIRC that's on head, hands, and breast. In 1953, a canopy was used to prevent the intrusion of the TV cameras.
PS A new monarch `ascends the throne' both metaphorically (begins to reign) and literally when he/she goes to sit on it because it's on a dais and it's necessary to step up!

The Victorians loved puns, the lamer the better. At Victoria's coronation, the aged Lord Rolle (born.c 1751)slipped on the steps as he approached the throne to pay homage and took a tumble. Much mirth ensued about how `Lord Rolle rolled'...
I concur with your analysis, Hikari. Well put.
Complaining about GB News? Good luck with that.

It just shows how little she understands the UK!

While I don't buy this scenario here, reading it the first thing I thought, Kirby Sommers says something similar here. She believes that Megsybaby is NOT ONLY an Epstein girl but that the most elite Epstein girls are implanted into highest ranking families via blackmail. She believes Andrew then Harry hired her and that Harry thought he was getting over on her by paying for her services but it was basically highest end honey trap. She had goods on him and was able to blackmail her way into BRF. It's quite a story. Gotta give her that one. There are some sus pix, like the one with her good buddy Marcus Anderson on a yacht with both Epstein and Andrew. But I also think Kirby embroidered that whole narrative out a few pix too. I saw a picture of Stephen Hawkins on Epstein island at one of his Christmas parties, no doubt they were all praying and praising the Lord there. Do I think Hawkins was a pedo John? Ewwwwww? Well I imagine not everyone at pedo island was a client. Maybe, like Jennifer Lopez or Beyonce Hawkins was paid a million bucks to show up and make the event look classy? What do I know though? Normally I consult my cira 1970s lucky magic 8 ball for the deep questions like this but I lost it in the early 80s along with my LP record player and box of albums I sure wish I had for the cool album covers alone.

What is beyond this couple? What is real with this couple? I think with Harry he surely had some long term girlfriends that make me doubt the bearding narrative. Maybe at that level, it's all just kink to the elites and doesn't matter? And maybe I'm not seeing the same clips you are, and I'm not gonna go back and watch, but he looked overjoyed when they were saying vows. I dunno. My take is he needs her like a junky needs his next fix and she needs to be as rich, famous and powerful as possible, even if it means pretending to find a dolt like Harry appealing. But really part of what's got me hook on this story is not knowing.....is it real or is it Memorex?

"SomeOne ascends/ed the throne" has long been standard usage, but that's different from a coronation.

This summer, I watched Verdi's Aida (Met Opera streaming) multiple times with subtitles, thirty odd years after seeing it live (its great music is now stuck in my head). About the only Italian word I've learned is "corona" for crown. "Traditor" I already knew from a college music appreciation course. "Morrà" (he shall die) should have been obvious but wasn't.
I’m with Hikari on the nasty relationship and have been from the beginning. I have true spidy sense on Narcissistic horrors after being married to two. My only thought is what on earth could the blackmail be? The world has opened up so much in the past couple of decades to all sorts of weird carnal relationships (not agreeing with this here just stating facts) and unless he has committed some sort of criminal acts which are on film or my imagination is too limited then what the hell do they have on him? I mean from what has been whispered re Markle and her “interests” it would be mutually beneficial to keep her stuff under wraps too.

You were wondering earlier about the narrator of V Low's book. It is V Low himself. You can listen to a 5 minute sample recording of the audiobook on Amazon UK (below the photo of the book cover)

I don't think he was or is being blackmailed in the traditional sense. But he was manipulated by a master at the game. There certainly was emotional blackmail from an early stage.

Because she is so manipulative and carelessly destructive, she has systematically separated him from family, friends, life, country, and is now proceeding to trash his reputation. I think there is very little chance that he will ever want to escape her, partly because she now uses the children for blackmail.

Unfortunately for his family, the drama is not over. Contrary to his assertions about his memoir, I think it will be filled with hurtful lies, especially about their 'love story'. She is not going to stop threatening and attacking his family. And neither of them is going to stop trying to control all media by any and all means.

Here is a long article from the Telegraph:

(Quotes from the celebrity gossip rag Closer)

- ‘But the effects of their emotionally charged trip [an unplanned 17 days in the U.K., due to the sad death of the Queen] are said to be causing issues for the couple.’

- ‘Meanwhile Meghan was set for another blow this week, when a bombshell new book, Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown, is released…it will apparently include contributions from former members of the Sussex household who say they have previously been silenced by Meghan, and who they describe as an “evil, narcissistic sociopath“.’ [It has been] alleged by Lady Colin Campbell to have been written with “royal co-operation”…’

- ’”Since returning to California, there’s been deepened tension between Meghan and Harry who understandably found the trip incredibly tough - not just from the shock and mourning of the Queen’s passing, but from the continued family drama going on behind the scenes. Harry’s starting to realise the magnitude of his actions over the last two-and-a-half years and the toll it’s taken on his family. While every decision they’ve made has been joint, he’s starting to harbour regret and he’s back in a very dark place again, which is creating rows between him and Meghan, who is struggling with his emotional state.”’

- ‘Harry also described his father, now King Charles III, and his brother Prince William, now Prince of Wales and heir apparent, as being “trapped” within The Firm. But sources say that seeing his brother and Kate, 40 - whom he was notoriously close to before meeting Meghan - has made Harry nostalgic for the past.’

- ‘“Not having that closeness and bond with [Kate] any longer has hit Harry hard and being together again in the U.K. brought all that sadness and hurt to the surface and was very poignant.”’

- ‘Meghan…is planning to extend her own philanthropic work.”Meghan’s very keen on doing whatever it takes to bolster her image - holding crisis meetings with her team... She’s planning on going full throttle with philanthropy work and is even in talks about doing another big TV interview in the hope she can turn the tables, but only time will tell and this is no doubt going to be her sink or swim moment.”’

He may not have realized what a full-blown controlling psycho she is and envisioned a more carefree existence of pursuing his hobbies and doing what he liked, apart from the scheduled 'appearances' as man and wife.

I think that's very true. H obviously had no idea what he was letting himself in for. The problem is that she can be chameleon-like, I think, and be absolutely charming but can also change very quickly if things don't go her way. Perhaps this is the way narcissists operate, I don't know not having met any (reading this blog, I realise how lucky I've been). He said Charles and William were trapped, little does he know he is trapped, not they.

One Young World

When One Young World reported on H&M's visit to the UK and the high price of its tickets for 'allegedly' young people, complaints about suspicious salaries this institution began to circulate on social media. Many Brits questioned whether the institution was covering the couple's costs of this trip. The institution at the time said nothing, but closed its Instagram page for comments.
https://instagram.com/oneyoungworld?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

I found it strange that their ( OYW) insta page gave the duo little prominence and that the big tree of life photographer put the duo's main photos on his twitter and Instagram.

"Fat-cat salary probe into mother and daughter who run youth charity that Meghan Markle champions
Probe launched days after portraits of Meghan and husband were published
One Young World describes itself as 'global forum' for young leaders
It has enjoyed a soaring public profile thanks to the Duchess of Sussex.

Part of the text
The charity championed by the Duchess of Sussex is facing an investigation after it emerged the mother and daughter at its helm were paid almost £2 million in less than five years.
In a dramatic move, the Charity Commission launched the probe into One Young World just days after portraits of Meghan and the Duke of Sussex taken at the charity's annual summit in Manchester in September were published.
One Young World describes itself as a 'global forum' for young leaders and has enjoyed a soaring public profile thanks to the Duchess, who became one of its 'counsellors' in 2014.
Meghan told delegates in Manchester she was 'thrilled' Harry was able to join her to 'witness first hand my respect for this organisation'.
But The Mail on Sunday can reveal that the regulator has intervened amid concerns at the eye-watering pay and benefits packages handed to senior bosses at the charity.
There is no suggestion that Meghan and Harry – who are among a string of celebrity backers of the charity including Richard Branson, Bob Geldof and Emma Watson – knew of the pay levels.
One Young World's chief executive Kate Robertson was awarded a £440,000 pay package for the 18 months to June 2021, despite the pandemic interrupting its summits, the biggest source of its revenue. Her daughter Ella McKay, 33, one of the charity's two managing directors, enjoyed a £194,543 pay and benefits package for the same period.
Following questions from this newspaper, the Charity Commission this weekend announced that it had opened a 'regulatory compliance case to examine concerns about remuneration at One Young World'.

She/they may want to rehabilitate their image, but how is that remotely possible? The world has seen their true colors by their own words and behaviors over the past few years. It’s all over the Internet for all to witness. Video and audio captured it all including the mask slips. Who would trust them?

Please join me with bowed heads and silenced guffaws and onioned fingers to squeeze out a solitary tear as we contemplate the PR $$$ winging aloft into the great beyond that now cannot be spent at the plastic surgeon's office.

Prince Harry Unmistakenly Expressed His Anger During Queen Elizabeth II’s Funeral, Royal Expert Claims

Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral was held on Sept. 19 and was attended by more than 2,000 guests including of course the members of her family. All eyes that day were on the senior royals as well as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle who stepped down from their roles in 2020.

Many royal watchers wondered if they would all be able to come together as they grieved and perhaps reconcile. But some noticed that the Duke of Sussex showed signs that he was still angry with the family during his grandmother’s funeral.

Prince Harry participated in two processions following his grandmother’s death. He walked behind her coffin along with King Charles III, Prince William, Prince Edward, Prince Andrew, and Princess Anne as it was transported from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall.

Harry also joined his cousins for a vigil around the queen’s coffin while she was lying in state.

On the day of her funeral, the duke walked in a second procession behind that late queen’s casket as it was carried on the State Gun Carriage to Westminster Abbey. And it was there a royal expert claimed Harry showed his anger.

Because it was such a somber occasion and the royal family was in mourning, no one expected them to look cheery. However, Dickie Arbiter noticed an unexpected emotion from Prince Harry.

Arbiter, who was Queen Elizabeth’s press secretary from 1988 to 2000, claimed that the Duke of Sussex’s demeanor and facial expressions told us everything we needed to know about what he was feeling that day.

Arbiter told True Royalty TV’s The Royal Beat: “If you look at all the pictures that were published during the funeral, yes, it was a very solemn occasion and solemnity was the order of the day but Harry wasn’t only showing solemnity, he was showing anger. That was his body language.”

Another royal expert thinks Prince William has to work things out with his brother

Former royal editor of The Sun, Duncan Larcombe gave his take on the family’s feud opining that Prince William is actually the one who needs to make things right with his brother.

“He has just become the Prince of Wales, he is going to be our king. It doesn’t look good for him if he can’t sort out the issues with his brother,” Larcombe said (per Express). “He wants a leadership role, William wants to wear the medals and the stuff on his shoulders — be a leader. The royal family is being likened to the Kardashians in the way that Harry and Meghan are behaving. They’re being followed around by Netflix, they’re selling out all their royal brand to the highest bidder.”

Larcombe added: “That doesn’t mean it’s William’s fault but, for goodness sake William, the onus is not on Harry.”

Apparently Larcombe is a ninny who has no family and has never had to make a clean break from family members in order to protect their children/spouse/self from a mentally ill family member who will not stay on medication that can help him/her stay anchored in reality in favor of illicit pharmaceuticals that worsens the situation.

Does anybody remember the rumors that the now PoW William had to ban Harry from his household due to his drunken behavior around the children?

These 'royal experts' are mistaken. It is not about forgiveness, but about trust and distancing oneself from toxic people who are serial liars and who are not going to change. When you open the door to such people, they waltz through and create havoc. They also ignore the fact that TBW has stated that she was wronged, by everyone, and an apology is owed to her.
Can we dub ourselves `royal experts', even if we're not being paid?.

@CatEyes,

Larcombe is an idiot. The twit wants half the duchy of Cornwall and to be co-ruler with his brother, and even then, he and his horrible wife wouldn't be satisfied. Bringing back the Deep Sixed back into the fold would provide huge amounts of fodder for the tabloid press, and that is the only reason that Larcombe is giving this advice.

@DesignDoctor, thank you for the delightful Reddit post link on Tungsten, and how it is actually a back-handed smack-down from Charles to Meaghan rather than the glowing tribute she believes.

For those who didn't follow DesignDoctor's link, I've cut and pasted part:

"Tungsten fits Meangan PERFECTLY.

Tungsten, also known as wolfram (W):
• is super dense
• is highly combustible
• will spontaneously ignite
• is an unstable isotope
• is not black, put a peach color
• is used in bullets and missiles for bombardments
• is used as counterfeit gold
• is a soft, weak, worthless metal unless combined with another metal
• wolf-ram is a middle high German word meaning wolf's foam, or rabid wolf"

Another poster replied: with info from Wikipedia “However, tungsten interferes...and is somewhat toxic to most forms of animal life.”

All of this fits Ms. Tungsten to a tee; much better than any of her dreadful couture could ever fit.
From Wikipedia:

`The administration of the duchy is regulated by the Duchies of Lancaster and Cornwall (Accounts) Act 1838, which requires Treasury's supervision and for the accounts to be presented to both Houses of Parliament.'

What part of this statement doesn't H understand? The Duchy isn't in the gift of the Duke of Cornwall.

Good luck with changing that, 'Arry Boy- the Treasury and both Houses of Parliament have far more important things to do with their time than to pander to someone brat who is still mentally a brat of 3 or 4. You can scream and scream until you're sick - and that goes for that Violet Elizabeth Bott of a wife of yours.

As an INTP, I am not supposed to be all judgmental about the situation between Harry and William, so I will share with you my observations and what I have concluded. (Nyah nyah nanner nanner Larcombe!)

William and Catherine respect the people that they are meeting, and they demonstrate this respect by doing the background work, studying what the people that they are meeting with actually do so that they can discuss it intelligently, and they are appropriately dressed.

Harry and Meghan have never demonstrated this level of respect for citizens or, indeed, anybody that they have worked with.

William and Catherine have skills that would transfer outside the BRF institution. Harry and Meghan's skills seem to be limited to tantrums, picture opportunities, and pretending to be a happy family.

There is visual evidence of William and Catherine happily interacting with their children. For all the happy family rhetoric spouted by the H&M show, there is no visual evidence that a cohesive family, happy or otherwise, even exists.

William and Catherine happily thank the charities they are associated with for their efforts and raise funds for them. The H&M "charitable" efforts appear to be self-serving opportunities to acquire money and publicity.

There have been a lot of instances of unhappy people that have had to work with the H&M show. The people working with the PPoW seem to be pretty happy.

If they were ordinary people, would you rather have productive William and Catherine and their children or the dysfunctional H&M show and their invisible children (and their drama) as your neighbors?

An interesting, shortish, discussion on why the duo are so awful.

Who is Terry Mills? He supposedly has some 'insider' view that saw TBW for who she is before/at the wedding.

The onus is not on Harry for bringing the Royal family for acting like a Kardashian, Duncan Larcombe?

A bigger load of gobshite I’ve not heard for years, and that has got some competition. What is it that William can do to “fix” things with his brother? Make Harry the Crown Heir? William isn’t the one who forfeited his right to wear medals on his shoulders because he abandoned his duties. He’s not the one who abused his grandparents as they were in their last days.

Harry chose his path. He is a mentally unstable drug addict. William can’t fix what’s broken in Harry by groveling and giving him more toys. Charles, not William sets the tone going forward…wishing his wastrel son and the baggage a life overseas.

This guy has to be in the Sussex pocket and his publication certainly is. Since when does elder abuse, graft, deceit, public intoxication and constant whining become something the systematically violated parties have to apologize for?

I found an answer to my question about Terry Mills:

'He was an entertainment agent who worked in the UK and US. The man in the video said that he (Mills) was depressed when H&M wed and predicted this whole thing. Mills died of covid last year, so no one can ask him, but it seems likely that he had insider knowledge.'

Is This the REAL THING THIS TIME? or is this just stringing people along?

Recently there was (yet another) post somewhere out in the world about how they will soon divorce.  And my first thought was: Haven't I heard this before?  which moved quickly to: how many times have I heard this (through the years)? There were a number of questions raised which ... I don't know.  I'm not a lawyer.  One of the points which has been raised is that KC would somehow be shelling out beaucoup money to get her to go "away".  That he has all this money stashed away and can pull it out at a moment's notice.  But does he? He inherited a lot of "stuff" from his mother but ... isn't it a lot of tangible stuff like properties? and with that staff to maintain it and insurance.  Inside said properties is art, antique furniture and other "old stuff" which may be valuable" but ... that kind of thing is subject to the whims and bank accounts of the rarified people who may be interested in it (which is not most of us in terms of bei

A Quiet Interlude

Not much appears to be going on. Living Legends came and went without fanfare ... what's the next event?   Super Bowl - Sunday February 11th?  Oscar's - March 10th?   In the mean time, some things are still rolling along in various starts and stops like Samantha's law suit. Or tax season is about to begin in the US.  The IRS just never goes away.  Nor do bills (utility, cable, mortgage, food, cars, security, landscape people, cleaning people, koi person and so on).  There's always another one.  Elsewhere others just continue to glide forward without a real hint of being disrupted by some news out of California.   That would be the new King and Queen or the Prince/Princess of Wales.   Yes there are health risks which seemed to come out of nowhere.  But.  The difference is that these people are calmly living their lives with minimal drama.

Christmas is Coming

The recent post which does mention that the information is speculative and the response got me thinking. It was the one about having them be present at Christmas but must produce the kids. Interesting thought, isn't it? Would they show?  What would we see?  Would there now be photos from the rota?   We often hear of just some rando meeting of rando strangers.  It's odd, isn't it that random strangers just happen to recognize her/them and they have a whole conversation.  Most recently it was from some stranger who raved in some video (link not supplied in the article) that they met and talked and listened to HW talk about her daughter.  There was the requisite comment about HW of how she is/was so kind).  If people are kind, does the world need strangers to tell us (are we that kind of stupid?) or can we come to that conclusion by seeing their kindness in action?  Service. They seem to always be talking about their kids, parenthood and yet, they never seem to have the kids
