Hi All

Harry’s new job title reminds me of a conversation with my father years ago. He had just hired a teen on holidays for a bit of labouring at harvest. His older brother would drop him at work and pick him up at the end of shift. The older brother worked at another family farm close by. My father was told that the brother was the Managing Director. As this farm was quite a bit smaller than ours my father asked what he did. The reply was that he fixed fences, helped yard animals, did slashing and that sort of stuff. My fathers reply was “Oh he’s a farmer labourer”. The reply came back “No! He’s the Managing Director”

Is this more proof Meghan Markle wants to be first woman US president? Duke and Duchess team up with Genevieve Roth who worked on Hillary Clinton's 2016 election campaign

'Meghan Markle has teamed up with one of the senior figures from Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign, adding fuel to the rumours that the Duchess is keen to enter the political sphere.

It emerged last night that Harry and Meghan had joined forces with Genevieve Roth, who will serve as a senior strategic advisor at the couple's Archewell foundation.

Invisible Hand, a social impact agency founded by Roth, will also be working with Archewell on initiatives and campaigns.

Alaskan-born Roth, who says she has 'a lifelong commitment to gender equity,' previously served as the director of creative engagement for the 2016 Clinton Presidential campaign.'

A lot of word salad if you want to read the rest:

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9393279/Meghan-Harry-team-Genevieve-Roth-worked-Hillary-Clinton-campaign.html

I've never heard of Genevieve Roth this side of the pond but she seems to have the right anti-fascism credentials... Should be right up Meg's street.

Mark Benioff of Salesforce is a prime Meghan contact, and perhaps husband target. Since Salseforce is a main financer of BetterUp, I’m guessing that’s how they got the intro.

I keep reading that name as ‘ButterUp’ lol.

Meghan first woman president?!?! If the rumors are true and Biden has deteriorating Dementia, he will step down midterm, making Harris the first woman president. If I recall, most democrats and Republicans polled prior to the last election did not believe Biden would serve a full 4 year term, let alone 8 years. Joe Biden is currently 78 years old.
Plus, the sitting president is pretty much automatically the party candidate for the next term. Meghan would have to wait til 2028 or 2032 to run on a Democrat ticket. Plus Hillary MAJORLY LOST THE 2016 ELECTION. Her left overs don't strike me as enticing to anyone serious. If they are even still around in 8-12 years

@Jessica,

Benioff, great possibility. Billions, and she could give him one of her depressing makeovers.
@AnT

"Batter Up!" was my first thought too!

After watching Harry lie on a global scale during the Oprah interview (and three days later walking at least one of the many lies back), does he really think people will want to invest in or purchase an app he is associated with?

Will Batter Up (sorry AnT, just had to) be able to advertise that it can help you over come your guilty feelings from screwing your entire family? Can a Batter Up life coach teach you ways to justify emotionally abusing your 95 year old grandmother and 99 year old grandfather? Or your chronically ill father-in-law?

OF COURSE! Its Harry endorsed and Harry approved!

@este,

Toomey's husband, Mark Toomey, was with Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan as an investment banker. Now working at Galaxy Digital.

MM doesn't care about Toomey's jewelry. She's working her way toward some deals with her husband. She'd better be careful. When it comes to MM, ladies, lock up your husbands, if they have money.

Off topic re: dog/cat food. I make bone broth weekly, y'all, and cook things like chicken backs, legs, bones, chicken thighs (on sale), and skins with some water and vinegar (to demineralize the bones), some garlic and turmeric, maybe throw in some veggies like limp carrots and celery. I throw it in the slow cooker for @ 36 hours, strain, keep the broth, skimming off the fat to add some back to the strained bones, skins, meat pieces and veggies which I feed to the dogs and cats; they LOVE it. The bones are soft and are mixed in with the meat and skin scraps. I don't have to worry about cooked bone dangers for the furry family members while they're getting the mineral benefits from the bone. That cats won't eat the veggies but the dogs will and, if they don't, the chickens get it.

@SwampWoman....your homemade pet food is better than anything you could get in a store. And, it's cheaper than the premium pet food. I'm guessing you add a few vitamins for nutrients. Is this something you've weaned your pets on or did they take to it from the start?

I've looked into this for cats but a) it's a production and b) no guarantee it will work, as they've gotten used to canned food. For me, the issue the latter far more than the former issue.

Not that Clooney is anything near a power player but he's bonafida A list actor and he's been quiet as mouse of late. Last I heard he said he didn't know her & met her at wedding, which sounds like he was already heading for the nearest exit.

I don’t get it. Is Megs that dumb?! If she wanted an investment banker...she was in LONDON for Christ sake. Meghan must not know how money works. I do think she thought Harry had much more than he did, with his palace settings and all.

Meghan going for a $$$ banker is right up her alley, but she’s aging out of that market and doesn’t really strike me as the type a banker would want to be seen with. Someone else here guessed she was lurked for a tech bro in Toronto, so this lines up nicely with what she’s trying to turn Harry into.

It’s so sad she disrespects his heritage so much. Let the guy be a Prince ffs. There are enough ‘tech bros’ wandering around. Heck, there’s so much cheap money nowadays most people can get their ‘tech bro’ on. Not everyone can be a Prince.
snarkyatherbest said…
Jessica - she was probably wrong about Harry's finances but investment bankers are not as much instant fame as PH shes aging out of everything and soon to have two dolls i mean kids in tow. At this point she needs a tech nerd that hasnt had many dates but sure knows how to code. ;-)

Perhaps that is why he was invited to the wedding? p.s. - I hate MM!!!!!

I agree Meghan wanted fame and visibility along with wealth. And that wasn't going to happen with her acting career. She was really pretty bad at acting and she was too old for a "big break" even if she had had talent. But a super-rich banker-type wouldn't have checked all her boxes either. So what made her decide to hunt in London for a high-visibility mate? (Aside from conspiracy "backer" theories) Was it as superficial as liking the accent? If so, I do wonder if she's so fond of that accent these days.
Fifi LaRue said…
BetterUp just made an appearance on my FB page. Scrolling, they have pages and pages of a variety of therapists. In a superficial viewing BetterUp claims that full-time, 40 hour therapists can make $100,000/year. That's about $50/hour. I don't want to delve further, but they must be charging clients at least $100/hour in order to make a profit. $100/hour is not a good value for someone who's going to need 10 sessions to work through a problem. @Puds,
Lol, thanks. My cat was really something. He was enormous, 36” from nose to the end of his rather short tail, barrel chested and bossy. In the German countryside his best instant pal was a huge one-eyed Bernese Mountain dog, belonging to a neighbor. Them pair of them hung out all day, chased rabbits, and also had sleepovers in the dog’s gorgeous dog house which was a two-story affair, elaborately built and designed to look like Austrian-style chalet in the owner’s house’s courtyard. Cyclists training for races would swerve off the road to take photos of them hanging out. My cat assembled the other six village cats and they would troop to the small river‘s edge on hot days to nap on the banks near a small waterfall and watch fish. He brought home old stray cats he found who knows where, and I would feed them and find them homes. Summer afternoons he hung out at my other elderly neighbors, who had a tiny farm, and sleep under their bench and watch the old man carving wood and his wife canning preserves in her little kitchen house (lined with cabinets whose doors were beautifully painted with scenes of saints and apostles. The little girls borrowed him to dress up and ride in a baby carriage and he allowed it calmly (he adored them even though he was a muscular tough guy). He was amazing. Once the Polizei stopped to yell at my old neighbors because their car was dusty from summer; he was a mean one. My cat was in my front garden with me and he watched, stood up and bristled, made a strange sound and took off to hiss and growl and howl and leap on the the Polizei. The man was so shocked (my cat was enormous and fluffy but could look terrifying like a bull when mad) he jumped into his car and fled. Everyone who was watching cheered my cat and he flopped down with the old couple to be fussed over. Lots of fish that night! I miss him every day.

@Puds,

I think you’re right about Meg hunting for a tech billionaire. Maybe she will try for BetterUp’s Alexi, and use Harry’s failure at BatterUp to get Alexi to agree that H has too many mental issues for poor suffering Megs to cope....poor lonely suffering Megs! She can pull a Miranda Kerr, Orlando Bloom’s ex who married the Snapchat founder and quickly had a baby.

Megs will want digital in her pocket for her campaign, too, even though her backers will probably be willing to pay for it.

Again, thinking how the Harkles have a huge high-flying staff and yet are unintelligent, offensive, have produced nothing but a sad Spotify podcast...where’s the money from? Where? Where? Definitely think they’re camping at Oprah’s....we need more sightings by Hot Rob.

@Sympatico - just wanted to say hi. Your point about Clooney, Jack Brooksbank and Eugenie is one that's often forgotten now. This whole saga is so surreal and exhausting I've lost all sense of time.

Funny when you think JFK was thought to be too inexperienced when he ran in 1960, even though he'd been a congressman and was a senator. To say nothing of active service in the Pacific in WWII. Actually, by the standards of the time, he was inexperienced. I'm really getting scared about the future. Things are changing and standards are dropping so fast. Truth is whatever you feel it to be.

If it's true that they put down $5 million on the $14 million property (35%) and they were to divorce now, seems there are fewer bathrooms as assets! Also I'm not sure that the house is automatically community property. There's alot we don't know about the financing and paperwork.

Fifi, I’ve always had health insurance but the providers I liked did not take insurance and then the UK had a 8 month wait list (the guy I paid for there worked for the NHS, amazing what money does to speed up an appointment!). Interestingly, this was a while ago, but none of them would keep me on when I moved as they thought Skyping wouldn’t be effective. I wonder what they ended up doing last year?
I did end up finding another in NY on insurance but as you said 10 sessions, same for me, and that was up after 2x 5 weeks, then $180 out of pocket. Great guy though. The $500 was incredible. He was extremely cynical and told me I should lose weight. I was 5’7” and 135 lbs. wish I could get a refund for that. I went to another afterwards, a little less, and he just had no interest in my life. I wasted a lot of money trying out different therapists, but I guess I’m either picky or that’s what it takes.
The mental health field is interesting. My sister sees someone now on her insurance but as far as I’m aware it’s gossip sessions and a paid friend. I’ve recommended she find someone else, so maybe I’ll refer her to BetterUp :) lol!

@JennS,

I had just moved to an old style 1950s-era townhouse village set in a hilly, wooded park near the city where I was working and there was a huge storm, trees down, no power. The neXt day I say a cat carrying kittens into the safety of our under-a-hill parking garage. Kept my eye on the situation with a few neighbors and eventually we caught the kittens; the mother belonged to one family who didn’t know she wasn’t spayed. The father was a monster Norwegian across the road, staying with an elderly couple for the summer while his owners, their daughter and her husband, worked on a building project in Japan — he was a champion with ribbons, but they let him roam. My cat grew up to be his black-and-white duplicate though my car’s mother was a dark maine coon. My friends caught his siblings easily but he was a canny elusive guy, for weeks. And then one day I was heading to my car to go to work, though sick with oncoming flu. I looked and he was sitting next to my car looking at me, all dirty and bright-eyed. I looked at him and said, “It’s like this: I am done, exhausted, so either get in this car right now and live a great life, or we’re done and you’re out of luck. Your choice.” I opened the back passenger door. Hand on my heart, he looked at me, jumped in and sat down primly on the back seat. I drove straight to the nearest vet, they checked him and cleaned him and I picked him up after work. I fed him, and he marched to the bedroom, crawled into my bed and lay under the covers with his tiny head on the pillow, like “Okay, this works.” I would come home from work and he’d be with the lady across the shared hall entry, because he learned to jump up, hang on the doorknob and swung his body to open it, so he would go sit with her bridge club. He talked in long cat sentences his whole life, and friends would bring their friends to sit and converse with him. A Lufthansa pilot awarded him wings for being a cool fellow, He was the best.

'Marrying my black husband made me realise I was racist': Harry and Meghan's new strategist says she discovered that ‘all white people are rife with internalised racism and unconscious bias' after her own wedding

-Genevieve Roth says all white people are 'rife with internalised racism'
-She described uncovering 'racist tendencies' within herself after marriage
-Her 'female-led' firm, Invisible Hand, has been hired by Harry and Meghan
-The former Clinton aide will advise the Duke and Duchess's Archwell foundation

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9395755/Marrying-husband-realise-racist-Harry-Meghans-new-strategist-says.html#comments

So the Sussexes are carefully coordinating their foundation hirings and Harry's employment opportunities to hone in on their very special narrative. A narrative that continues to ride the two main complaints they brought against the Royal Family during the interview.

I guess Camilla Long was correct when she guessed Harry and Meghan would never stop bemoaning and monetizing these complaints. Even if they don't complain publically they along with the press will constantly remind the RF of their grievances with these focuses on mental health and racism.
And the absurdity of this situation just keeps growing as IMO the Harkles are in no way equipped to influence but are instead more apt to bring harm to any discussions on either race or mental health.

News of the bullying investigation has to be made public in order to sideline these two. The Harkles have some nerve moaning about not being protected and feeling depressed when the public disgust would not have happened if MM's behavior had not been so outrageous. I believe that Markle's bullying was so bad particularly in Australia, that Melissa T threatened to sue when she left the firm.

@jessica,

A close friend has paid her East bicoastal therapist $150/hour for about three years, and always said, “I don’t think she is really listening to me.” One she mentioned this...the therapist said, “I am gathering background material as i prepare to go into your issues soon. I like my patients to look at this as a ten year event....” Three years in! But it was better than others who were as you said, cynical. She did quit that therapist though, and found a semi-retired one who mostly teaches, but has been brilliant for her and charges a bit less, because insurance is a joke. I wish you good luck finding one that you click with. You’re right to be picky.

AnT,

Therapist horror stories! Haha. Yes it’s incredible. I go along and basically feel like I’m interviewing *them*. I have my ‘people’ now if I need to go, but it took a while and accidentally in different locations. The guy I saw in London would have rolled his eyes at ‘10 years’. And he’s an LSE grad who trains other therapists! What is with these people. I’ve got things to do, I do not have ten years!!! Lol. Reminds me of my sisters therapy rent-a-friend. Whenever she talks about her sessions I’m like ??? ‘That’s uh not therapy’ ‘well, jessica I wanted to talk to her about when _you_were a child and’ ‘’me?’ ‘Yeah and we covered you for several sessions’ ‘what?’ ‘How does this help you?’ ‘My therapist thinks I should date older men’ ‘what’

Hahahahaha. Truly funny. I’m happy for her if it’s ticking a box, but I don’t think it’s therapy - perhaps more like ‘life coaching’. Like BetterUp!

Hahahaha. I still don’t even get the BetterUp thing. This guy is going to need to do a real job. No one is going to ‘advise’ him. Oh to be a fly on the wall.

Normally when one joins a co they sign an NDA, I’m just thinking about Harry showing up with his own NDA. Hilarious. Cant wait to see what comes from this!! They can’t prevent all the people who come into contact with him from talking. First question, “where’s Archie.”

O/T?

I'm a dog-, rather than cat-, person and, as a gardener and supporter of wildlife, I regret that so many of my neighbours have cats.

It's very disturbing, though, that dry cat food may contain high levels of starches and sugars, as well as goodness knows what else - there was rumour over 20 years ago that a certain UK brand, claimed to give cats energy, was laced with amphetamines!

I do known that cats need taurine, found in animal tissue, so cats can't be vegan. Like us, they're probably best on recognisable foodstuffs that have had minimal processing.
@Jenn,

I don't know how I missed that post. I hope you decide to call him, even if it's a part of his show. You never know. It'd be hard for him to turn down a fan club.
The Independent has a typical sarcastic article sniping at the RF but I can't help agreeing with the list of what H might bring to the job, jibes at the monarchy in general omitted:

... The prince brings a lot of transferable skills to the role: he’s skilled at publicity, crisis management and at attending events that require copious waving. But the most value Harry adds lies in distribution: he can provide access to the people who are probably in most need of mental health coaching...

...Harry’s new role will cover product strategy — and I’ve heard he’s already starting to make recommendations to improve the BetterUp offering. In particular, he’s pushing to add the below functions:

•Spin the Globe - Randomly pick a country to pay for your security

•Rainbows and Unicorns - Automatically activated every eight hours to coincide with frequency of mass shootings in the US and drown out the news alerts for the more sensitive among us (not necessary for members of the NRA)

•It was Kate - A text message template that automatically blames Kate Middleton anytime you’re crying

•STFU (Shut The Farage Up) - Boosts mental health by cleansing your timeline of any references to Nigel Farage

•Just Say No - A way to stop people taking advantage of you by saying no...

The Telegraph has an article about Harry's new job as a 'chief impact officer' (not sure what the impact will be) but I may have missed this from the DM yesterday. Apologies if this has been mentioned.

'The Duke revealed yesterday that he had been using a Betterup coach for months, which proved so “invaluable” that the service was now offered to all staff at the Sussexes’ Archewell Foundation. “I was matched with a truly awesome coach who has given me sound advice and a fresh perspective,” he said.' (my italics)

So who will be paying for this service? 'Offered' doesn't mean staff will take it but will it be mates rates? All rather vague and more money laundering.

The only advice Harry needs is to run the hell out of MM's clutches.

A lot of wet cat food in this country contain sugars, but not the dry stuff. Even the expensive wet cat food has sugar added. Why? No idea, years ago it never did, it’s not needed. Even our vet suggests only dry food. My cat has the occasional raw meat (he was weaned on that as a kitten, but he’s not so keen now). If it's another surrogate, I'm not sure how she'll pretend to give birth in an LA hospital, in which case a 'home birth' could be the answer.

Thinking of funny cat stories, especially with regard to chimneys,(Thanks, Ralph L), reminded me of how appallingly the working classes of Victorian Britain & elsewhere were treated, regardless of colour. Apprentices could be legally bound to their masters as securely as if they were purchased slaves.

Until the school leaving age was raised to 15 (effective from 1947) 14 year-old boys could be employed down coal mines; the 1842 Act had prohibited children under 10 working there.

At, for example https://www.mylearning.org/stories/coal-mining-and-the-victorians/236?

Or the women chain-makers of Cradley Heath, who worked at forges just outside their houses, on piece-work:

"" While researching his book Chain and Anchor
Making In the Black Country, published in 2006, local
historian Ron Moss was told by the son of a back
yard chainmaker that his mother had made chains
from 6 am to 6 pm, then crossed the yard into her
house, and with the help of the local midwife, gave
birth. She then returned to her forge and continued
working until 10 pm."

Call me a cynic but I kind of wondered, at first, why "Just Harry" was given an executive position, you know, with this being his first corporate job, not that there's anything wrong with starting at the top. We all have to start somewhere, right? But then I saw pictures of the CEO and staff in "onesies" and I thought, yes, this makes total sense out of the 4 buckets of (chuck) opportunity, that "Just Harry" would land here like a fly in your soup.

Mr Bukowski added: 'He's got this woke job title of Chief Impact Officer and today's announcement has done just that for the company, had a huge impact.

'This announcement is worth millions to this startup in free publicity and if he's done a good deal with a salary as well as shares in the business, it will probably make millions for Harry too.

'He could never have done this deal if he was still a working member of the Royal Family. They've announced the job just after the Oprah interview, amid an outpouring of support for the couple in the US. They're on a crest of a wave there. If the company is as good as Harry says, it is a smart move. But if it's a pile of poop, he won't have to many more chances to cash in.'
"Mr Robichaux said Harry has already helped make decisions at the business, including at a recent strategy meeting where he 'recommended that executives frame the tool in terms of resilience and overcoming adversity and setbacks in a challenging time'." Because no one ever thought of THAT when address mental health issues. Wow, Harry's quite The Thinker!

With all this mad potential, I'd hate to see Just Harry go bust here and have to slink back to his family and move into the basement, so I've come up his first slogans, sure to take off like a rocket:

"BetterUp: solving all problems caused by technology, with technology."

"BetterUp: solving all the world's problems, one app at a time."

"BetterUp: Millennials solving the worlds problems with yogoa, onesies and therapy pets."

Cats have taken over this blog and I'm there for it!

@Raspberry Ruffle: A lot of wet cat food in this country contain sugars, but not the dry stuff. Even the expensive wet cat food has sugar added. Why?

Yes! Most wet cat food is loaded with sugar and that's to cause cats to eat more and cat owners to buy more cat food, which results not only in much higher incidents over diabetes but fat cats, and I'm not talking Wall Street power players. Cats never had these problems when they ate a natural diet.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Hairy's new employer is setting off all kinds of alarm bells for me. It sounds like such a scam, & since it involves people's mental health, could be even dangerous. Recent tragedies in the US have highlighted the dangers of untreated mental illness, although 'racism' & 'terrorism' have been blamed.

The company may just windup being an exchange of dollars between wealthy investors, but I'm reminded of the glut a few years ago of 'for profit' colleges which basically just issued worthless certificates to students whom they loaded with mountains of debt. In some cases taxpayer money was directly involved, or indirectly, through tax breaks.

My guess is that buried somewhere in various bills both at the federal or local level, there are 'mandates,' or tax breaks, or even grants, for employers to provided mental health care for their employees. Good mental health treatment is both very expensive & time consuming. It looks like the executives of the companies involved with Hairy's company think paying for an app for their employees to download is a cost effective way to give them mental health care. It looks like a scam to me, as well as a disturbing invasion of their employee's privacy. Data entered on phones can be, & is, harvested in all sorts ways, some of which are not so benign.

@Etse - it certainly helped this "start-up" (which was started in 2013!) and gave them a lot of publicity. Sadly, I think it will help JH because I am sure they gave him stock. The company had to do something bold and big or otherwise flounder among other "coaching" apps. The next step will be to merge with a SPAC and go public and make them some serious money, and then megs can get half of it when they divorce!

@ Raspberry Ruffle and anyone else with a neutered male cat

We were adopted by the most wonderful cat, Bruno. He was massively overweight - the local hairdressers had been overfeeding him (along with the rest of the neighbourhood it seemed) as they thought he was a pregnant female! Our vet advised us not to feed him wet food and he had a special dry food diet to shifts the kilos, and it worked.

What we didn't know is that a dry food only diet in neutered males can cause a build up of crystals in their urine. This can eventually even block the cat and it becomes a medical emergency, something that we were unfortunate to experience twice.

Just be extra sure that the dry food your cat is on (and I think this right) is low in magnesium as I understand that is less likely to cause crystal build up.

Enjoyed the slight deviation from the Sussexes to hear people's cat stories. Our Bruno became a house cat after we adopted him. Not just for his own safety (and our sanity) as he used to stalk dogs that were being walked past our house on leads. I saw him take off one day and jump on the back of a little maltese poodle and then run off into the bushes! Latterly, if I was holding him up for a cuddle at the window and he saw a dog walking past, he would go rigid in my arms and stare at it until it was out of sight! He hated dogs as much as he loved his grub :-)

@Este,

I’m a huge feline fan! :oD

I kinda guessed the added unnecessary sugar added to cat food was down to drive up sales. How utterly appalling! My cat is 2 and a half, growing up he had fresh raw meat and lightly cooked and filleted white fish. He slowly stopped wanting to eat it so I varied his diet. He loves prawns (or shrimp to those over the pond), I really wish I could get him back on mostly raw meat etc. However, it’s just mostly dry stuff now, with one small wet meal per day.

@JLC,

Will check the magnesium content of his dry food. He has various brands..but thank you for the info. and much needed advice. :o)

It is very difficult for me to wade through the new woke corporate language of this company, but, as others have pointed out here, it is just the latest version of a company offering 'corporate training courses'.

In my experience of the corporate world:

* There is a budget for such training, which has to be spent. Staff would prefer time off, or to be able to get back to their office and work, rather than spend time in some corporate workshop. They would also prefer that training budget to be spent on bonuses!

* In-house managers know the business and staff best and are thus the best people to provide training and coaching, and, when and where necessary, to sign off on off-site training courses to meet the needs of individuals.

The 'mental health' misunderstanding is due to the new woke language being used. The basic aim, as it has always been, is to increase productivity and efficiency.

In my experience in the corporate world, the way to do this has always been through developing efficient systems (with me, that was focused on budget and schedules - the latter through developing processes tailor made for the specific product) and improving quality (mistakes made and details missed cost time and money). The well-being of staff is achieved by awareness from managers and having an open-door approach to management (in-depth monthly performance management meetings were not enough) and knowing in detail what work and problems each person is dealing with every day, and basically always juggling corporate desire for profit and staff needs as human beings (and hiring the right people for the job).

Harry really is lost. He has hired himself out as a mascot to a company that has invented a tool to extract money from corporate America. I agree with the posts above that predict that the company will go public and Harry will end up making a lot of money from this deal. If he hasn't included stock options in his employment package, he is a fool. However, he has strayed so far from what the royal family is all about that he can never go back. He is stuck in a marriage with a toxic narc and it is just a matter of time, if it has not already happened, that they both have affairs and they may end up splitting, with Harry replacing Meghan with a string of very young 'models'.

I have thought of Meghan's response to the bullying accusations - it was all the fault of staff who had not had mental wellness/fitness training!

It's not only neutered males that can develop urinary crystals and blockages. It's more likely in male cats because of their anatomy. And early neutering (before 6-12 months) may cause the urethra to narrow (although controlled research varying time of neutering using matched litter-mates has been inconclusive.) Blockages also are more likely when cats remain slightly dehydrated so water fountains are good of the cat isn't getting fluid from food. In the wild, moving water is less likely to be contaminated than still water and cats often retain a preference.

Females can develop blockages too. And they can be fatal for females too if not cleared so going to the litter often and peeing tiny drops shouldn't be assumed to be a simple UTI.

Cats must have magnesium so it can't be eliminated from their diet completely. Some cat food companies don't list it on the label though. Urinary pH is also an issue. (Grain produces less acidic urine than meat) Here's a pretty good article

Sandie - you nailed it - Harry really is lost. He has hired himself out as a mascot.

He has no clue these companies are just using him. That he really means nothing to them. He is a, so to speak, token. Them "hiring" him may even be just a favor or a pay back for something in the past or future. the only benefit is he may be receiving some funds in his pocket.

I do think M is thrilled because this is contacts being made and more chance for her to make connections. Maybe find her next husband. I really am quite bored with these two again. They are all flash, no substance. All words, no action. H has all these jobs and probably sits at home on the couch playing video games. M sits around "rubbing her belly" and surfing the internet looking for articles about herself.

@Sandie - your experience of the corporate world chimes with mine. I worked in a university dealing with research contracts. I was on the contracts side and there was another group dealing with the financial side, including administrating the resulting grants until they ended, sometimes years later. We were massively understaffed. I would have approaching 300 contracts on the go at times.

Then a fancy consultancy firm - very small - turned up. They were paid a fortune and all they came up with were basically five sentences, repeated in varying order, for a one-day workshop. They spent no time with the staff, just the top people.

Then they put all the roles together so the same person did both contracts and finance. We told them it would be a disaster but all was ignored. It was a disaster. They lost their contract expertise across the board as people left (including me). People were crying at their desks. It was traumatic as the jobs were highly responsible with the possibility of losing £100,000s if you made a mistake through inexperience and overwork. Now they've put it back the way it was, having made a lot of people deeply stressed and unhappy. Changed their life paths in some cases, like mine.

I can see even more potential for damage with this company Harry has joined. My experience was bad for my mental health but not in such a direct way as this company could inflict it, if they don't know what they're doing. Trying to think of an analogy - my experience was like being hit dully but repeatedly. Harry's company could be doing the equivalent of injecting a drug into employees' brains. If they do it badly or irresponsibly.

-What's in it for MM? Is Harry bait for something she really wants?
-How will she markle this opportunity?
-Filling out paperwork to get paid, what address will Harry use (assuming he does not live @ mudslide mansion)?
-How will this company use him? For example, could one pay extra to talk with Harry?
-Will Harry be required to get a license and special training to offer counseling?

IMO endless opportunities for amusement if you think about the details.

@Puds thank goodness PH was not a natural born US citizen. He's our problem but hopefully not permanently
I once worked, for a short time, in an FE college that OFSTED rated as `failing'. The principle resigned and a new one was appointed to get it back on track under `special measures'.

When I saw his much vaunted resume, I could see he'd stuck no previous job for more that 4 years, flitting from post to post, each time with a higher salary with duties that were only vaguely connected with what had gone before. My thought was `he won't last - he leaves before the sh*t its the fan'.

His way of improving things was to launch a blaming campaign, holding the surviving, low-level, staff responsible for all the failings, when it was obviously a case of high-level mismanagement, especially of the finances. We also heard that the whizz kid he'd appointed as his deputy had likewise left his previous job under a cloud.

I originally planned to stay there long-term but one lunchtime I decided I couldn't stand it any longer and typed out my resignation there and then.

Shortly after I left, the principal went too, within the time I'd predicted, and as far as I can see he continued on his merry way, trying all sorts of ideas, none of which came to anything, disaster after disaster. Clearly a man who'd been promoted upwards with glowing references, just to get rid of him.

Meg's stickability seemed even worse - 2 yrs. Her current marriage is coming up for it's 3rd anniversary and the doll will soon be 2. Has the drifting apart started? Will Harry smell independence on the air? Or are his new colleagues some of her Flying Monkeys who will continue to reinforce her influence?

We shall see.

Joanna Lumley calls Megxit 'ghastly' and says she'd never be in 'The Crown'

Albertina Lloyd
·Entertainment reporter, Yahoo UK
Wed, 24 March 2021, 9:26 am

Joanna Lumley has said she found Megxit "ghastly" and that people's interest in the private lives of the Royal Family made her "feel faint".

The 74-year-old Absolutely Fabulous star said she had "not really" been following Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's exit to the US and subsequent tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Lumley told the Telegraph's Chopper's Politics podcast: "I find that all ghastly actually. I don't watch The Crown, I find it all ghastly."

Asked if she would consider appearing in the Netflix drama, written by Peter Morgan and based on the lives of the Royal Family, she said: "No."

Lumley added: "I didn't watch it, or see it or do it. Lots of people love it and lots of people loathe it. It's mostly made up and lots of people don't know that it's made up – and I think that's awful.

"I put myself always in the shoes of the people – in this case the Royal Family – where people imagine how you speak to your husband.

"If you imagined how [husband] Stevie and I talk to each other and tried to write dialogue – it makes me feel faint with laughter!

"Well, some people say, 'Oh, everybody knows it's made up' – they don't, they think it's the truth.

"I couldn't watch it, because I feel if you don't agree with something, don't watch it and go: 'Oooh I hate that.' Just don't watch it."

Lumley has been married to conductor Stephen Barlow for 34 years.

The actress and political campaigner is a long-term friend of Prince Charles and was a guest at his wedding to the Duchess of Cornwall in 2005.

She played The Queen in 2013 in the BBC's adaptation of David Walliams's children's book Gangsta Granny.

Lumley told Jeremy Vine on Channel 5 earlier this month that she felt Meghan and Harry's interview had “spread a bit of unease and unhappiness just when we should be spreading unity and positivism and lots of love”.

She said: “It did seem to me a bit one-sided, because everybody knows that the Royal Family can’t really answer back.

“So I was anxious not to watch it actually. I didn’t want to watch the programme and didn’t watch the interview programme, but you can’t avoid it because everybody’s talking about it.”

Lumley added: “I feel terribly sorry about the whole thing. I’m so sorry for that family who we all love so much.”

It didn't stop Yahoo littering the piece with photos of the Humbugs, though.

Prince Harry joins American institute’s investigation into ‘digital disinformation’
(Updated)

Prince Harry will be one of three “philanthropic leaders” to join the Aspen Institute’s project

Part 1

Valentine Low | Ben Hoyle, Los Angeles
Wednesday March 24 2021, 2.30pm GMT, The Times

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/prince-harry-takes-mental-health-role-at-us-company-betterup-mgmf9k3r8

Prince Harry is taking on another role in the US, where he will help carry out a study on the state of disinformation in the digital world.🤣

He is joining the Aspen Institute, a non-profit organisation, as a commissioner, sitting on its new Commission on Information Disorder.

His appointment comes a day after it was revealed he is taking a salaried job at a fast-growing Silicon Valley firm.

The Duke of Sussex will work with 14 other commissioners and three co-chairmen and women conducting a six-month study on the state of American misinformation and disinformation.

The trio are the journalist Katie Couric; Rashad Robinson, president of Color of Change, a civil rights organisation; and Chris Krebs, the former director of the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.

The institute announced its commission in January with a mandate to develop “actionable public-private responses”.😲

The commission will begin to meet in April and will hold briefings with outside experts.

It is expected that the duke’s experiences with the media are likely to inform his contributions to the commission.🤪

“As I’ve said, the experience of today’s digital world has us inundated with an avalanche of misinformation, affecting our ability as individuals, as well as societies, to think clearly and truly understand the world we live in,” the duke said in a statement.

“It’s my belief that this is a humanitarian issue and as such, it demands a multi-stakeholder response from advocacy voices, members of the media, academic researchers, and both government and civil society leaders. I’m eager to join this new Aspen commission and look forward to working on a solution-oriented approach to the information disorder crisis.”

The institute’s press release on Wednesday identified Harry as one of three philanthropic leaders who will be a part of the project.

The other two are Kathryn Murdoch — who is married to Rupert Murdoch’s son James — and Marla Blow, incoming president of the Skoll Foundation.😱

Harry’s new job was announced a day after his appointment by a Silicon Valley company.

He is to be the chief impact officer of the coaching and mental health company based in San Francisco — Alexi Robichaux, its chief executive, said that Harry was perfect for the role.

BetterUp has not released details of how much he will earn. However, Lars Schmidt, an HR consultancy founder, author and host of the podcast Redefining HR, said that the duke’s total salary and benefits package would be “not a small number”.

Schmidt said: “Typically for an executive at that level the compensation would be a heavy mix of both salary and equity.

“I would imagine the [compensation] side would be pretty significant and there would be an equity component as well.”

Harry, meanwhile, said he was “really excited” to be joining the company and that his goal as its first chief impact officer was to “lift up critical dialogues around mental health, build supportive and compassionate communities, and foster an environment for honest and vulnerable conversations”.

BetterUp was founded in 2013 and provides mobile phone-based professional coaching, counselling and mentorship. Its website says it has a network of more than 2,000 coaches working in 49 languages across 66 countries.

Robichaux said that he was introduced to the duke through a mutual friend and began conversations with him last autumn.

However, he declined to say how much Harry would be paid, what hours he would be working or any details about his employment agreement. He said that Harry would be joining the company’s leadership team as an “officer of the corporation”.

Part 2

The move sheds light on how the duke and duchess hope to achieve the financial independence they said was their aim when they stepped down as working members of the royal family.

Since moving to California they have announced lucrative deals with Netflix and Spotify.

Asked in an email by the Wall Street Journal why he was taking the job, Harry replied: “I intend to help create impact in people’s lives.”

Harry will not manage any employees but is likely to spend some time in the company’s headquarters once it is safe to do so and to participate in meetings, Robichaux said.

He is also expected to appear at company events.

Harry has long been open about his personal struggles with grief and mental health issues, and has campaigned with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to encourage people to be more open about their mental health.

Robichaux said that as a member of the royal family, and also a former member of the armed forces, Harry could bring a different perspective to the company.

His title as chief impact officer — one more commonly found in the non-profit sector — reflected his broad range of responsibilities, Robichaux said. “He’s synonymous with this approach of mental fitness and really investing in yourself,” he told the WSJ.

Harry said that when he first met Robichaux, they “instantly recognised a shared passion for helping others realise their full potential”. He said he has been using BetterUp’s app and a coach for a couple of months.

However, he admitted that filling out the initial questionnaire was awkward because his background did not fit its multiple-choice questions. “I realise I’m an outlier so there’s no need to get the engineers on it!” he joked.

Schmidt said that Harry’s role may have been “designed around him specifically, based on the alignment and the opportunity for them.”🤣

@WBBM - I originally planned to stay there long-term but one lunchtime I decided I couldn't stand it any longer and typed out my resignation there and then.

That's exactly what I did! I was walking to my office one morning, hating every step, then thought "To hell with it" and typed my resignation letter as soon as I got to my desk. Got another job straight away thank goodness. I'd planned to stay there long-term too. Worked all hours. Put my heart into it. That's what makes me so mad - the damage the word salad folk do. Getting so much more money than we were paid for doing the actual work.

@WBBM: No chance in hell that she'll make it to the white house unless they change their voting system so that she's elected because this woman would implode at her very first hustings.

And that's before she was subjected to media hazing and all her secrets laid out to bare and or used against her by her political rivals.

Her desire to be in the WH is as much an ambition as being in the royal family. All she sees is the prestige and trappings and doesn't see the work, the slog, the sheer hell of that job.

I've been boiling with anger since I read this:

'Marrying my black husband made me realise I was racist': Harry and Meghan's new strategist says she discovered that ‘all white people are rife with internalised racism and unconscious bias' after her own wedding

This is a fallacious assumption on a number of levels. First of all, it is statistically impossible for ALL members of an astronomical group ('all white people on the planet ever born, living, dead, yet to be born . . since the dawn of time and until the end of time') conform to one single characteristic, and secondly, the speaker is using herself, one individual and her experiences as the exemplar for all white people, everywhere, every country, every time, doesn't matter.

It also assumes the reverse is true, by default: Persons who are non-white, even by so much as the one drop theory, are exempted unilaterally from being racist. Ever.

O-Kay.

How can Genevieve Roth stand to look at her white face in the mirror every morning? What kinds of reparation has she offered to those persons of color she's spent her lifetime inflicting her internalised white privilege racism upon, other than agree to become a highly paid 'strategist' for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex?

We've got our answer, folks.

Doesn't the wokey brigade realize how breathtakingly ridiculous it is to appoint a plastic surgery addict who only decided to be 'biracial' about 5 years ago for fame and fortune and her husband, the whitest man in England, so white he glows in the dark their spokespeople for comabating internalized white racism? Meg is about 84% white, isn't she? All her internalized racism inherited from the white side of her family tree is entirely cancelled out by her nominal blackness from her mom's side . .? And that's been significantly watered down, if Doria's only 33% or something like that.

Oy.

@WB & puds

Fortunately for the USA, Harry doesn't meet the birth criteria to be POTUS himself

That is correct. There is nothing constitutionally preventing him from running for Governor of California, though I suppose his wife will beat him to the post there.

Aspen Institute Commission on Disinformation Disorder

I find the idea of this venture most odd (and it comes across as part of a censorship agenda).

Of course there are a lot of fake stories circulating in various disguises. There always have been, way before the invention of the Internet or social media.

There already are two ways to deal with what is and always has been part of human nature, without shutting down free speech:

* Teach and encourage critical thinking, and, quite simply, accurate referencing of sources. What is the source? Is it reliable? Is it biased? Is this information backed up by an independent and separate source? Is this an opinion or a research-based reporting of facts? (Critical thinking is embedded in almost every subject in the school curicullum for every grade in my country, but teachers do not know how to teach critical thinking and are afraid of it, so chalk and talk, rote learning is very popular.)

* Establish and fund fact-checking organizations. We have such an organization in my country (Internet based), but it only fact checks government speeches and claims.

The Harkles do not want critical thinking or fact checking because they challenge 'their truth' and 'their narrative'. The cognitive dissonance in the Markle household is huge! I don't think Harry can ever be rescued or rehabilitated. I am often wrong and I hope I am on this one as he has close and extended family and old friends and colleagues who really do love him.

Sandie - you nailed it - Harry really is lost. He has hired himself out as a mascot.

He has no clue these companies are just using him. That he really means nothing to them. He is a, so to speak, token.

So, it's acceptable to hire out a white dude to be a 'token', but not a black person. The lady who had had a lucrative career being Aunt Jemima for a national ad campaign, a job she actually was proud of as it allowed her to support her family and be a bona fide celebrity (she was a good cook, also and used the product she was advertising) had to be relieved of her position because it was racist. This was a source of anger to her family, who spoke about how it was the taking away of that role, not the bestowal of it, that made their mother feel diminished and pointless.

But it's fine to hire a foreign knobhead with no experience at all to be the mascot for a company, on account of his royal title. Because we all now that Prince Hal wouldn't have been considered for this appointment if he grew up in a regular American family and would otherwise be working at a gas station. Rich white people whose grandmothers lead foreign nations are non-racist and also shining examples of mental health.

I have to double-check these things because I'm so rife with racism irrevocably attached to my Caucasian gene, I can never be sure of my own perceptions. I've got to check with more enlightened people who live in rented mansions and treat their parents like manure.

We know where H&M falter, lie and deceive, but, from their perspective, aren't they also getting many things right, regardless of the controversies. (Controversy is good because it keeps up chatter.)

Demand and achieve a grand wedding to announce themselves to those who matter. Build a brand that says 'new', 'woke'. 'free-wheeling' blah blah. Create specific moments to underline presence in this influencer-driven age so Vogue, fashion awards, dress capsule, cookbook. Accentuate standing within family, get seen at enough family occasions to have media moments, pump up family drama as reason for being forced to set-up rival court such that it drowns out whole truths/facts. Build industry connections, profit off of them while keeping a steady leak from Harry's family fortunes into hidden accounts.

Meghan is nothing if not ambitious, persuasive, headstrong, ruthless with strategy, brash about what she wants and wants now. These are qualities of many prominent and successful personalities. Her little care for ethics makes her potent. In fact, ripe for politics. I mean she has bulldozed the royal family and is off being famous and rich - prince in tow - with a lot of people lauding her bravery and strength. Her bullying - unless very grave and made public - will be passed off as the characteristics of demanding leader. The tech world - which it seems she is targettng - is littered with leaders who are terrible bosses creating high-pressure, extremely competitive work environments.

Now come all these appointments for Harry. Much of it maybe just appearances, but it seems to me in a world that thrives on and pushes the fake-it-till-you-make-it mantra, perceptions are all you need. Meghan's target market is the US. From where she started to where she is - it's miles ahead, in her view. Harry is used to genteel folk covering up and paying for him. He is also on tape saying he hates England. Now, there's his wife who thinks for him. He's freely charging for what used to be burdensome dutiful chores. What H&M claim as losses in public are just scripted narratives. They are sure they are winning.

This is a clash of cultures, outlook and values. There is no correcting unless there is a loss that speaks to Harry and especially Meghan in a language they understand.

Racism is a complex subject and I do believe that it is based on deeply held prejudices and beliefs that have been passed down over many generations. There are real socio-economic consequences.

However, I look at what is happening in the world with bemusement. Has the world gone mad?

In my country (look away if you are going to be offended), we have the racial classification 'coloured' for people who are of mixed race. (Coloured people are very proud to call themselves coloured.) These 'coloured' people have traditionally always had lower status than white people, but they are also very racist, i.e. 'look down on' black people and consider themselves vastly superior to them. Some of the most blatant and shocking overt racism I have witnessed has been from 'coloured' people. (Think Doria or Obama rather than Meghan and you will get an idea of what a coloured person is.)

From the history and experience of my country, I can confidently say that this BLM, forcing of quotas to have black people over represented, and attacking of white people and forcing them to confess guilt will not end well, and will not change the socio-economic circumstances for most black people stuck in the poverty cycle.

It is sad to see Harry being used by shady companies to show that they are legit, but I doubt that he has the perspicacity to be able to separate the good from the bad. On second thought, a legitimate company wouldn't have him in an 'executive' position.

I can't disagree with your assessment--This version of Meghan is the one that's selling, and to our dismay (I'd put it even stronger as 'horror') she has found an audience of buyers to this line, aided and abetted by media moguls like Oprah & Ellen & Gayle--like Meg, amoral narcissists with ruthlessness and money equally. The media has certainly been Meg's friend. To publicly denounce any of her grandiose claims is to run the risk of being called racist, misogynist, bigoted . . look what happened to Piers Morgan.

Due to their own world-domination agenda, the NWO liberal media are embracing this Meghan and choosing to completely ignore the 'probable psychopath' angle to her behavior. I suppose within the ranks she's shooting for, psychopathy isn't that unusual and is actually a requirement for success in that level of shark tank. Meg does lack a vital something which the top level persuasive ruthless sociopathic CEOs have which allows their negative qualities to co-exist: Vision and intrinsic talent, giftedness in their fields. By all accounts, Steve Jobs was a terror; Elon Musk, too. Jeff Bezos sounds like a real toolbag. Bill Gates is commonly accepted to have a spectrum disorder. But these people all have in common that they were gifted in some area and worked relentlessly hard to build their visions into an empire. Even female versions of this type like Oprah, Ellen & Hillary are renowned for how much work they have put in to get where they are.

Even if one puts the most positive spin on Meg's traits, there's no amount of PR spin that can completely eradicate the reality of her: she's a talentless opportunist with an aversion to hard work, who had only succeeded in sleeping her way to the middle before she met a Prince, and who's never stuck with any sort of commitment, whether professional or personal for more than a couple of years. Even those tough, terrible bosses at the top have a sort of warped charisma and they have the authenticity at least of being the creators of what has made their names. Megs has all the demanding arrogance of a titan of industry--without anything to back up her overweening opinion of herself except the semi-retard foreign douchebag from a famous family she's conned into marriage. Far from being in any iota the strong, independent feminist leader she pays PR firms to say she is, she is actually every worst trait of femalekind & of American exceptionality and materialistic celebrity culture encapsulated into one person.

Agreed, but given the mental disorders essayed by both halves of this couple, their behavior represents so much more than just a clash of cultures and values. There's significant insanity in play here, in both parties. They've certainly tapped into a Zeitgeist of collective societal insanity which is operating in their favor right now. A portion of the media is starting to jeer at them and call them out for their hypocrisy, lies and unhinged behavior, but not nearly enough. For every bit of legitimate criticism directed at them, the cheerleading outlets determined to promote this ongoing Emperor and Empress with No Clothes On just ramp up louder. They get interviews on prime time American TV with the biggest media personality going. With former (black) First Ladies and current Presidents willing to jump on this rickety bandwagon, the disinformation campaign that Meg and Harry actually stand for anything or can achieve anything besides hiring and firing staff and filing legal paperwork is poised to roll on for a while yet. The media is still too much in their corner.

Actually the Genevieve Roth story is crazy on so many levels. I kinda objected to the- trying to get pregnant and likely given her age the miscarriage and then the new pregnancy but then spending the last trimester apart? you lost one child, and given her resume did she need to be gone from her significant other in the last trimester? career first, family second? could she not take a pause or take something local to have the support she needed when she did give birth? I worked through both pregnancies but i would never consider pregnancy as an afterthought to my career? that's what struck me as crazy too.

I sometimes wonder if this mass outbreak of insanity with people actually agreeing with the 'educator' that said that "math is racist and white supremacist" has anything to do with the weakening magnetic field around the earth. I remember reading a paper somewhere, I think maybe it was Russian, about how mice or rats exhibited bizarre behavior when the magnetic fields change.

As for the 'educator' who is convinced that math is racist, I would say that digging ditches should be a future vocation, but one does need to be able to measure and use math to make sure that the ditch is of the proper size.
Re Genevieve Roth,

From where I'm standing, attributing inherited guilt to white people is no different from blaming all Jews since 33AD/CE for an event just outside Jerusalem at about that time.

None of us fully appreciates the trials that others may experience but that's not the same a being racist. H has no idea how ordinary people of any colour live and, if I may guess at Ms Roth's ancestral origins, she has no idea of how her views reflect so badly on her when seen in the light of history, especially that of the 1930s and 40s.

Btw, I've been checking my Bible Concordance for what is said about `loving/hating one's brother. There's talk of being `blind' and in `darkness' - strange how the Humbugs seem to be arrogating to themselves the job-title of `Light of the World'.

I will swallow my gorge and plow through the whole article. The clips which have been selected to promote this article are more incendiary than what's printed here. Being in a relationship with a black person does indeed have more valuable lessons to teach than virtue-signaling at a protest rally ever could, for sure. I look forward to reading about how the author managed to attract and marry a black man in spite of her race bigotry, and whether she feels her interracial marriage is a form of 'missionary dating' as it were. Do we hear from Jordan?: "Well, sure, honey--you were blatantly racist towards me just like every other white person I've ever met when you smiled at me with those orthodontically corrected teeth which the majority of poor black working families can't afford, and your expensively highlighted-at-the-white-lady-salon blonde hair. But you were the cutest li'l racist I ever did see, so I invited you out for an ethically-sourced cup of coffee in a compostable cup, just so the patrons of Starbucks could all stare at the diversity going on at our table. In the short-term, this inherently racist white people narrative will bolster her claims against the BRF, but in the long-term . . if some of the Kool-Aid effects wear off, people should challenge her with some very pointed questions:

1. Your father is white. So it's your assertion that you were the victim of his inherent racism since the day you were born, yes? And you attended predominantly white schools, dated exclusively black men and joined a white sorority in college. With so much white racism around you, why is it that you never chose to date or marry within black culture or attend an historically black university? Do you say now that you were brainwashed into going along with the institutional racist values of your white family?

2. Is brainwashing also to blame for you identifying as exclusively Caucasian on your professional CV during your entire career as an actress?

Hikari said…
Interview with Mugsy, con't.

3. Then you met Harry and married into the Royal institution you have subsequently identified as racist and toxic. Your husband told Jane Goodall that all white people, including her and himself, presumably are inherently racist from birth on due to the color of their skin. Would you credit his marriage to you as the antidote to his birth defect of racism, and is he now completely cured?

4. Since the British Royals are all extremely white people, is it fair to say that their racism toward you was, though unfortunate, neither completely under their control, nor deliberately aimed at you exclusively? Being 'born this way' as they are, their racism should be rampant toward every person of color they have ever met or had serve them. What do you say to the fairly large number of currently serving and former Royal staff members of color who have effusively praised the Royal Family as inclusive and great to work for and with?

5. They are lying. I see. All of them? OK. But you are being absolutely truthful and precise about your experiences. Very good.

6. Does your husband still regard himself as white, or is that an entirely offensive and stupid question?

7. Does your husband's new company, B(u)tterUp offer a children's app on their platform? Because I'm sure they agree, do they not, that small white children such as their Royal Highnesses George, Charlotte and Louis of Cambridge suffer from the same genetic predisposition to racism as their elders, and eradicating it early with proper diversity coaching is key. Will you be subscribing the Cambridge family and your other in-laws to the app? And your father? He needs it badly too, I imagine, even if he is 76 years old. It's never too late to eradicate your inherent racism, I agree.

Interesting too that Megs racism she doesnt tell specific stories. We all have stories as kids or as young adults where we were very uncomfortable about how we were treated that stuck with us in our lives, why dont we hear these stories? If truly there and you had Oprah in front of you, you would give specifics, right? She couldnt even spend the last year prepping for the interview with some good original story about experiencing racism in her life (and not one plucked out of someone else's instagram story) she was more concerned about Kate made me cry than the providing anything specific in her life about racism.

Great post!👏👏👏
Reading your comments is akin to reviewing Markle's PR plans and outline for her Royal Family scam. The absurdity of her leveling charges against actions she deliberately brought about will never cease to infuriate me.

The idea that she could indeed get away with the narrative that she was brave and strong for leaving the RF and the UK is not only sad and discouraging but it's also very alarming to know that someone, anyone could manipulate the entire WORLD in this way.
The bullying claims have already been characterized by her fans as those made by a lazy and racist staff. I do however actually believe the charges are quite serious especially those made during the Australian tour. I hope that all those who were hurt by the Harkles come forward and reveal everything they endured while working for the pair.

This is a clash of cultures, outlook and values. There is no correcting unless there is a loss that speaks to Harry and especially Meghan in a language they understand.

Putting an end to all of this still rests in the hands of the RF and the best hope right now is the investigation into the bullying allegations including what is currently occuring with the harassment of Jason and Melissa. The royal family will need to make the results of the report known.

In addition, if there is any truth to the surrogacy theory the truth should be reported - perhaps with a US media source.
I am sure there is a way to shield the rest of the RF via plausible deniability.

I read the whole Roth article on Good Housekeeping online last night. My first impression is she writes very poorly, and sounds like a befuddled 15 year who didn’t get enough attention. My newly developed “narcissist buzzer” went off. I also felt like she was a dumb freshman using her husband as an object to redefine herself for her career or identity goals. “Look at meeee!” I sincerely hope I am wrong about that last part. But I was appalled. And yet this idiot climbs and climbs.

It also sounds like it never occurred to this navel-gazing woman-child exhibitionist that there can be differences to learn about between cultures or ethnicities in general. Born under a rock, and raised in a mirrored room, basically.

I can paste the article text here if anyone wants me to. It is long.

Alexander Cruden (1699 -1700), creator of my Concordance, was clearly a `difficult' person of questionable soundness of mind, as a result of which he was at various times incarcerated in lunatic asylums.

I suspect he he must have been more than ordinarily obsessive to produce the Concordance but in so doing, he turned his mental problems into something of lasting worth.

There was a very big thread of Me Me in that piece and I think you are right, another Narc She doesnt really talk about her husband's qualities, what uniqueness about him that attracted her in the first place, the interactions in the article are all about racism. Did he really sit in the hotel room wounded because people in Miami Beach are racist and would (didnt say they did) walk across the street when they see him (highly doubt it since miami beach has a lot of NBA stars) Poorly written for sure.

Actually the Genevieve Roth story is crazy on so many levels. I kinda objected to the- trying to get pregnant and likely given her age the miscarriage and then the new pregnancy but then spending the last trimester apart?
................
@Snarky
To be honest I did not read much of the article - I couldn't stomach it. I saw a photo of their wedding with a child included. I just thought it odd that she was claiming how she came to realize all about racism when she married a black man, yet she had his child before marrying him...whatever the circumstances.
If Hot Rob proposed anything to me I think I'd faint from sheer shock!

--------------------------------------------------------------------
So true. Only wish this current fawning brand-building exercise reveals her for what she is. The way things are poised with big names that only Harry's family and father's money could attract attaching themselves to the Harkles, I think people are wondering who will win this? Does the Crown always win in this new world too?

Meghan's talent is the ability to not care, at all. She seems to have ghosted the UK and is only sending reminders for pending accruals.
Not sure if this has been posted yet, but BeggerUp, the company that Harry is shilling for sounds more like a kindergarten class than a mental health company.

Among the "perks" of working there are the onsie pajama parties, weekly yoga sessions, hitting punching bags, playing with the office dog "when he's concerned about his wellness", and Harry can bring his two dogs to work with him.

Harry also gets five "inner works" days per year so that he can "focus on personalized growth by hiking in California, reading books or doing volunteer work."
The company also provides games to play for when employees get bored, because the place is designed for both work and play.
***************************
I am seriously beginning to worry about humanity.

I hope I don't sound old-fashioned in pointing this out, but it looks like Genevieve Roth had a child with her husband first before then deciding to marry him.

Perhaps she had to see the results of their gene mixing first to make sure the baby wouldn't be too dark? Or maybe, not dark enough? I would imagine that an ebony-complected child would score her mad diversity points down at her local Mommy & Me yoga class.

Zara Tindall, 39, and her husband Mike, 42, welcomed their son Lucas Philip Tindall to the world on March 21. According to Mike, Zara gave birth at home "on the bathroom floor" after a speedy labour meant they didn't have time to make it to the hospital.

Revealing their happy news on his rugby podcast The Good, The Bad & The Rugby, Mike said: "Arrived very quickly.

"Didn't make it to hospital. On the bathroom floor."

"So yeah, it was running to the gym, get a mat, get into the bathroom, get the mat on the floor, towels down, brace, brace, brace."

He added: "Fortunately the midwife who was going to meet us at the hospital wasn't that far away so she drove up just as we had assumed the posit [position] and the second midwife arrived just after the head had arrived."

Mike and Zara have two daughters, Lena, two, and Mia, six, neither of whom were born at home.

However, while Zara's homebirth may seem like a break from the norm, it harks back to a royal tradition observed by Queen Elizabeth II, 94.

The Queen was the last Royal Family member to have a homebirth when she welcomed Prince Edward to the world at Buckingham Palace 57 years ago.

Twitter royal fan account Gert's Royals tweeted: "Of Queen Elizabeth's descendants, Lucas Tindall is the first baby to be born at home since Prince Edward was born at Buckingham Palace 57 years ago."

Following Baby Lucas's home birth, managing editor of Majesty magazine, Joe Little said: "Every royal baby born since the 1970s has been born in hospital.

"The upper classes would never have babies in hospital. It became a modern royal convention.

"A sudden birth on your bathroom floor at six o'clock on a Sunday evening is up there with the most unusual of royal births."

Unlike her royal cousins Prince William, 38, and Prince Harry, 36, Zara is not a working royal and was raised without an HRH style or title.

The Times has yet ANOTHER article on Harry's new jobs...and it seems to be another update from Valentine Low. The first article I posted earlier today was labeled as updated too so I don't know what's going on but this one also includes a bit of snark...

Part 1

Prince Harry adds to new roles by tackling ‘misinformation’ in US

Valentine Low
Wednesday March 24 2021, 5.00pm GMT, The Times

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/harry-adds-to-new-roles-by-tackling-misinformation-in-us-nxdmjzrk9

Another day, another job for Prince Harry. The Duke of Sussex is to take up a new role as a member of a commission looking into “misinformation” in the United States.

His new position, which reflects his long battles with the media as well as his concerns about social media, was announced a day after it was revealed that he had a new job as chief impact officer with a Silicon Valley start-up.

Harry will join 14 other commissioners — including the former world chess champion Garry Kasparov — and three co-chairmen in a six-month study by the Aspen Institute on the state of American misinformation and disinformation. The post of commissioner is unpaid.

The study is being funded by Craig Newmark, a billionaire entrepreneur who founded the online marketplace Craigslist.

Harry’s complaints about the media formed a large part of the interview he and the Duchess of Sussex gave to Oprah Winfrey.

However, the accuracy of the couple’s account of their dealings with the royal family and their staff came under question when Buckingham Palace issued a statement saying: “Some recollections may vary.”

The duke said in a statement: “The experience of today’s digital world has us inundated with an avalanche of misinformation, affecting our ability as individuals as well as societies to think clearly and truly understand the world we live in.

“It’s my belief that this is a humanitarian issue and, as such, it demands a multistakeholder response from advocacy voices, members of the media, academic researchers and both government and civil society leaders. I’m eager to join this new Aspen commission and look forward to working on a solution-oriented approach to the information disorder crisis.”

In January Harry said that “time is running out” for social media companies to address misinformation, which he said was a threat to democracies. He accused them of shunning responsibility and highlighted the role that they played in the US Capitol riots in January and the treatment of the Rohingya population in Myanmar. (why is a British prince sticking his nose in our affairs?)

The spate of announcements from the Sussex camp reveal how busy Harry has been since moving to California in making contacts, filling his time and ensuring an income. In recent months he and Meghan have announced deals with Netflix and Spotify, while the long-awaited documentary on mental health he is making with Winfrey is yet to see the light of day. (what happened to this doc? It was started LONG before the pandemic)

It was announced yesterday that he had a job with BetterUp, a coaching and mental health company based in San Francisco.

Part 2

The Aspen Institute, a leading non-profit organisation, set up its Commission on Information Disorder in January with a mandate to develop “actionable public-private responses”.

It will start to meet next month and hold a series of briefings with outside experts. The briefings will cover the rise of disinformation, the decline of trust in institutions and the challenge of disinformation campaigns against private industry and companies.

An interim report will be produced after about 60 days “that surveys and frames the information disorder problem, and prioritises the most critical and urgent issues”, according to the institute. A list of recommendations will follow in the autumn. (Harry will spend his time whining about the online 'trolls' who object to his hideous wife)

The commissioners include Kathryn Murdoch, who is married to Rupert Murdoch’s son James, and Sue Gordon, former principal deputy director of US national intelligence. Kasparov, who lives in New York, is the founder of the Renew Democracy Initiative. (why would the Murdochs be involved in this?)

The three co-chairmen are the broadcaster Katie Couric, the civil rights leader Rashad Robinson, president of Color of Change, and Chris Krebs, former director of the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.

You were talking about Ms. Roth, right? Because everything you wrote sounds exactly like Mugsy, only with the races of the married couple switched.

I can see I'm gonna have to read this damn thing I've been avoiding to save my blood pressure now.

QUESTION FOR NUTTIES: Are we convinced that this author is a real person? Could she in fact be a ghostwriting pseudonym for Megatron herself?

Because Mugsy's two bestest college friends . . the only women who have known Mugs longer than the past 5-7 years, who have been willing to be seen and photographed with her in public--the two women who kept her upright at Wimbledon two years ago are GENEVIEVE (Hillis) and (Lindsay) ROTH (Jordan).

Then out of the blue, seemingly, GENEVIEVE ROTH comes forth with a piece in Good Housekeeping (one of Meghan's sycophantic outlets and has been ever since she blew on to the scene--GH is bought and paid for with Sunshine Sux cash) that proclaims to make Mugs' case for being racially harrassed by the white family she married into??

Ladies (and the gents reading, you proud and few)--

I don't buy it. Meg's got two friends, essentially, whom she has not cut completely off, and who she has used for PR purposes since her marriage. Up pops this 'journalist' in one of her sugariest outlets to decry white racism under a name that matches cobbled together bits of these same two friends' names?

It could be pure coincidence, but . . it's Meg. Has there ever been anything remotely pure OR coincidental about her? Nope. It's all tactics. Roth is a fairly common name among magazine writers and cultural intelligentsia in general, seeing as many are based in big cities with a lot of Jewish population. Jews and the media are a thing . . and that is as racially motivated a FACT as mathematics. Just a statement of reality . . a lot of Jewish people gravitate to media jobs in New York City because they do.

'Genevieve' is considerably less common a moniker in any American industry. It's an unusual name outside of French-influenced areas. In all my lifetime, I've only come across a handful of Genevieves, and two of these who aren't affiliated with show business are connected to Meghan, Duchess of Shesuxx.

Do we believe in coincidences like that? Not where Mugsy's concerned, I don't.

Part 1

The New Elon Musk
MARCH 24, 2021
BLIND GOSSIP

This couple has been sniffing around for months now for ways to score big paydays that can be publicly presented under the thinnest veneer of compassion.

They don’t always get what they want, though!

Interestingly, we just found out the latest gig that the husband scored was not their first choice!

We don’t know exactly how many companies they approached, but here is some insight about one of the approaches.

This all went down about three or four months ago.

It seems like they were initially pitching as a couple, but the company was not interested in her at all, only him, so she dropped out of the picture.
Ouch.

It was also unclear what he wanted. At first they didn’t know if he was looking for a job, a green card, or an entree into the tech industry. They already have celebrity spokespeople, so that was another option.

This particular company is in the healthcare/tech industry and already has a couple of well-known celebrities as spokespeople.

Our celebrity was looking for something else.
It turns out he was just looking for a huge payday. The pitch was that they could use his name and title to help the founders raise money. He is really interested in tech and he wanted some sort of C-level position or a seat on the board, but mostly he wanted equity. His team was throwing around all sorts of crazy numbers, like 10%.

So our celebrity wants to become a tech mogul.
He wants to be Elon Musk!

For those of you who are not in the business world, “C-level” means an executive with a “C” in front of their title, e.g. CEO (Chief Executive Officer), COO (Chief Operating Officer), or CFO (Chief Financial Officer).
JennS said…
Blind Part 2

Did the company consider him qualified for a C-level position or a board of directors seat?

Are you kidding? He absolutely does not have the education, experience, or qualifications to do any kind of C-level work. He’s not even qualified for an entry-level job.

He is a celebrity. That’s all. The ONLY reason they even talked to him was because he has a famous name and title. So celebrity spokesperson? Maybe. C-level exec? No.

I heard that in the meetings it was clear that he knows nothing about business and that he was just using all sorts of buzzwords that didn’t really fit together.

So our celebrity would be Elon Musk without the education.
Or the experience.
Or the entrepreneurial vision.
Or the business savvy.
Or the work ethic.

Did that company make an offer?
No, because the whole thing was completely ridiculous.

Besides the inability to contribute anything but his name and title, the demand for equity was outrageous. I think his team realized that they were being unrealistic, so at the end they were just grasping at straws. The numbers they were throwing out were all over the place, starting at 10% and then going to 1 or 2%.

This is a late stage company about to go public. The founders spent years building the company and were ready to announce an IPO. The valuation may wind up at $2B.

It’s insane for this celebrity to think that he could walk in one minute before the IPO and claim $200 million for providing no value and doing nothing.

“Insane” is an interesting choice of words to describe his behavior of late.

Our celebrity got rejected and moved on.
Fortunately for him, he eventually did find another company to hire him!

While we do not know his exact compensation package, if that company goes public, that information will become public.

[That company is] pre-IPO and are still aiming for more growth before any kind of exit, so they were willing to take a flyer on him and give him some nonsensical title and an average salary. Since his main goal was equity, he certainly received equity, but they would be crazy to give him even 1%.

“Crazy” is another interesting choice of words.

Then again, if our celebrity did score even 1% of a multi-billion-dollar company before the IPO, perhaps he’s not so crazy after all!

So, I've been reading the Roth piece and it's something.

Like the part about when she talks about how she views his yelling as yelling because he has never lived a life where he didn't have to yell (either within his family or outside of family). And how she believes he is angry when he is not but he is being forced to raise his voice to make a point.

I don't know that her false reading of his emotional status is really internalized racism instead of a difference in family culture of how you handle emotional touchspots. If she wants to make it about racism so she can feel something - that's fine. Her life. That doesn't mean that I have to also view that as me being racist as well. My spouse does the same sort of sounds very angry/upset/earth shattering rend in the fabric of our marriage but also doesn't think they are all that angry when they are doing this. This is just the way they grew up in their family. And, not screaming yelling was ours. Not having a lot of drama in our family should not have to make our family revise our view of the past as racist because we learned how to talk through problems without screaming.

Nor do I read that it was her unconscious bias which led to the almost expired car registration outrage. In a lot of families, different jobs are taken over by different people for all kinds of reasons. We are a 2 car family where each of us is responsible for the car we drive. I don't know how things are in their house but working out who is responsible for what ahead of time can often lead to less scary moments when trapped in a car by someone who is losing their shite (to where you are afraid they will crash the car as she put it). Working that out ahead of time is just a pro-active way to avoid problems. Race has nothing to do with it.

Nor do I think that his response at that moment was all that appropriate considering that the car tags hadn't expired yet. My other thought is that a hyper alert to a potential problem (which has to have a lot of moving parts to become reality) may in fact teach people to ramp up fear arousal or intensity early or view actions as micro aggression against them. The saying about when all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail can also be a filter of how you view everyone else in relation to you. And, sometimes not everything is a nail.

Could expired tags be a problem? yeah but perhaps not everywhere in NY. Certain areas - probably more likely but maybe not every cop in that area is a guaranteed bad one. Or that the bad cops are being weeded out if for no other reason than they fear being on the news like the others. But it still doesn't make it a statewide everyone should panic level response.

Well if the crazy and insane Sussexes are able to score equity off any foolish companies then maybe they should be required to pay back the UK for the wedding, her outrageously wasteful wardrobe, any Frogmore money that wasn't paid back, the costs for investigating her bullying, and every single extra cost that was incurred due to her poor behavior like payoffs to staff, costs for rehiring staff, the costs for splitting the foundation, etc etc etc. A lot of money was wasted on a woman who never intended to remain a part of the family nor the firm.

Even before series A ( a first round of funding that normally takes 20% of the biz for X $$) 1% is rare to employees that are not on the founding or management team. After Series A? No chance.

So what’s hilarious is this means they did a regular deal with Harry. He probably has $250k-$350k salary with stock. The caveat is he has to stick around long enough for his stock package to vest, which is normally a 4 year cliff (25% a year). I’d imagine his stock grant is less than 250k per year, but he’d be sold thinking that the value is much higher and they would have told him growth is *UnLiMiTeD* with his *PoTeNtIAL* to advertise for the firm and he could end up with *mIlLiONs*!!!! Hahahahahaha so funny. Why is it all these failing situations giving them a hand? They are series D, they don’t have much opportunity for growth and if they IPO, well good luck. He needs them to IPO (go on the market) for his stock to really be of any value.

This is why we see these two taking every strange opportunity at hand. They are adding up all the salaries to try to make their ends meet. Aspen Institute is the same thing but even less- yearly payment for a board-type seat, normally between 100-300k.

They must be in trouble and Netflix and Spotify must be minor in compared to what they were selling the public.

Well, Hazza got his wish, didn't he? CHIEF IMPACT OFFICER for ButterBatterUp sounds very grand. This position was apparently crafted expressly for him. Wonder what the salary is? And if this start-up company goes belly-up pretty soon, I suppose they can afford to be generous with 10% of nothing.

CEOs are generally speaking business school grads, right? With maybe a few having oh, Ivy League cred or London School of Economics degrees? CFOs generally have accountancy backgrounds with CPAs and stuff. Some might have extensive experience managing huge budgets in both the public and private sectors. Harry's idea of 'fiscal management' is 'letting Meg spend whatever she wants and phoning up Pa for more allowance.'

Meg's partially black a little bit and that makes her a trendy commodity at the minute. As a runaway Royal, Harry's got a small window of interest going, and having run away from a life of lavish Palaces and state-supported Royal protection is the only interesting thing about him. He's a curiosity.

Why aren't more people, more media, calling out the complete derangement of a pair of overgrown adolescents with zero skills between them thinking that 'somebody' is just gonna make them the CEO and CFO of a major multibillion dollar company just because Meg likes to get her picture taken and Harry's grandmother, the highest profile victim of elder abuse in the world, has a monarchy? Selling the titles that they aren't even entitled to any more is all they've got.

Time for Parliament to act. Will that be enough, though?

CEOs can also be people that can raise money but usually those are people with banking background, or VC (venture capital folks) someone with a rolodex to help fund operations. Not sure he could help them merge with a SPAC and do an IPO (the quicker get rich scheme since normal IPOs can take up to 9 months to do) All financial arrangement with officers would be disclosed but importantly equity gives to employees that have any substance to them would be disclosed. So under 5% it would be lumped as management and directors own x% if its more than 5% its a separate line item disclosure. And once a company does an IPO or a SPAC merger/IPO, there is usually a 90 or 180 day lock up on management or employees selling shares. Spac merger IPO usually takes a ton of the equity since thats the price of coming public quickly. He needs to attract customers or new capital otherwise he really will be washing the range rovers and changing toner cartridge.

I'm not sure if `Woke' corresponds to being anti-fascist, subscribing to intersectionality, and/or Marxism (`Cultural' or otherwise), or whether it's a selective form of all of the above exclusively for Black people?

AnT - close kinda Roth is from Alaska where Native American's are (fully or partial) roughly 20% of the population and minorities in general are close to 35% so i would think she would have more sensitivity to minority operations

AnT

She looks rather Wisconsin.

Funny you should say that--Genevieve Hillis is from Wisconsin, I believe.

And IIRC, Lindsay Roth Jordan's middle initial is J. As well as her married name.

At the level of deep fakery Meg & her cohort exist at, creating an entire online persona for an author, complete with hired/pirated actor photos (ready-made biracial kid and black husband, to order--whatever supports the narrative) isn't unheard of and would probably be pretty cheap.

Good Housekeeping would have to be in on it, though they themselves may have been duped into hiring "Genevieve Roth" on spec based on her social media presence. Everything gets done over the Internet and the phone these days, so face-to-face meetings with collaborators is a rarity. Literally anyone could pose as an author, agent, PR person, or even a humanitarian Duchess, if her online presence is convincing enough.

I just think the coincidence with her name being so similar to that of Mugsy's friends and evidencing a writing style and personal history so similar to Meghan's is too much coincidence for my liking. Isn't the timing of this personal essay just PERFECT for Meg's purposes? And the writer, too? That's why I think we have to be a tad suspicious.

I have to laugh at the BG blind. Gosh, they have no shame. Nothing but grifters. One of my best friends was C suite at a fairly large MIC company. I know what he had to do and went through to get to that level. For JCMH to even think he is qualified, I have to laugh. He had to cheat to get out of HS, ffs. I bet he can barely even write a sentence.

A Quiet Interlude

Not much appears to be going on. Living Legends came and went without fanfare ... what's the next event?   Super Bowl - Sunday February 11th?  Oscar's - March 10th?   In the mean time, some things are still rolling along in various starts and stops like Samantha's law suit. Or tax season is about to begin in the US.  The IRS just never goes away.  Nor do bills (utility, cable, mortgage, food, cars, security, landscape people, cleaning people, koi person and so on).  There's always another one.  Elsewhere others just continue to glide forward without a real hint of being disrupted by some news out of California.   That would be the new King and Queen or the Prince/Princess of Wales.   Yes there are health risks which seemed to come out of nowhere.  But.  The difference is that these people are calmly living their lives with minimal drama.

As Time Passes and We Get Older

I started thinking about how time passes when reading some of the articles about the birthday.  It was interesting to think about it from the different points of view.  Besides, it kind of fits as a follow up the last post (the whole saga of can the two brothers reunite). So there is the requisite article about how he will be getting all kinds of money willed to him from his great-grandmother.  There were stories about Princess Anne as trustee (and not allowing earliest access to it all).  Whether or not any or all of this is true (there was money for him and/or other kids) has been debated with claims she actually died owing money with the Queen paying the debts to avoid scandal.  Don't know but I seem to remember that royal estates are shrouded from the public so we may not (ever) know. However, strange things like assisting in a book after repeated denials have popped up in legal papers so nothing is ever really predicable.   We are also seein...

The Opening Act of New Adventures in Retail

I keep thinking things will settle down to the lazy days of spring where the weather is gorgeous and there is a certain sense of peacefulness.  New flowers are coming out. increasing daylight so people can be outside/play and thinking gardening thoughts.  And life is quiet.  Calm. And then something happens like a comet shooting across the sky.  (Out of nowhere it arrives and then leaves almost as quickly.)   An update to a law suit.  Video of the website is released (but doesn't actually promote any specific product which can be purchased from the website).  A delay and then jam is given out (but to whom and possible more importantly - who did not make the list?).  Trophies almost fall (oops).  Information slips out like when the official date of beginning USA residency.  (now, isn't that interesting?) With them, it's always something in play or simmering just below the surface.  The diversity of the endeavors is really ...
